Part of Golf 3, Protect the Pilot! Part of Golf 3, Protect the Pilot! Part of Golf 3, Protect the Pilot! You are the AX Champions! Going Dog! Welcome to the Good Games Podcast! You're by Weekly Gaming Podcast! I'm your host Shay, Join by my co-host Henry. Henry, how's it going today? It's going good! Today we have one of our favorites, all time favorites really! I'm so excited to talk about this game and diving into this game to take a look at everything was pretty dang fun!
Like, pairing this show is really cool. Yeah, you could certainly say that. I'm really excited to talk about it and hopefully share it with some people that maybe haven't played this game before because I think it's worth it to tick off your list. This is definitely a must try and so speaking of the devil we are going to be talking about ghost recon breakpoint today. Additionally, we're going to go through some reviews and we're going to be able to talk about the game today.
Additionally, we're going to go through some reviews as we always do and continue with our making a game and selling a game segment. Guys, this is a great gaming podcast. Make sure to check it out. Podcast for Henry and I had to talk about our favorite games and what is going on in the overall gaming universe. And hopefully we'll get to interact with some other avid gamers. Maybe convince you guys to play some Tom, Clancy, Ghost, Recon, breakpoint. Let's start with the reviews though.
The GHD, it's a five star review of course. I came from their apex pod and I've been wanting more Henry and Che and this is definitely that. This is definitely getting Henry and Che. This is the passion project I think. Yeah, essentially yes. Next review coming from Mr. Mick Double. Another five stars. The third party pod is my favorite pod and when I saw you guys made a new pod I had to give it a listen. It's just as good as I would expect to keep up the good work.
Much appreciated Mr. Mick Double. But that though, we don't got any time to waste. We're diving into the main topic of the day. That's right Che. Let's talk Ghost, Recon, breakpoint. First and foremost, I'll give you a little bit of a history on the Ghost Recon series. Because this is a slept on series. I think it is. Is that fair to say? I think it might be. I mean, it's certainly been around the block. Ghost Recon games have been coming out for nearly 20 years.
And they kind of fill potentially Henry and I's favorite genre of video game and that is the tactical shooter. It is a beautiful, beautiful play style. The game started on PC. They've been on everything. DS, Wii, consoles, and back to PC again. The heart of the franchise is a third person style game. Open world approach mechanics, meaning you can complete an objective from a variety of different approaches. It's like the customization within a mission to be able to complete it in whatever way.
Your heart desires, which is really, really fun. It's very cool. The first one that Henry and I played was Ghost Recon Future Soldier. That's on the Xbox 360. That got us hooked on the series, specifically me. I fell in love with that game. And then I think 2017 Ghost Recon Wildlands. That was their first attempt at an open world game. Do you want to sum up Wildlands for the folks out there? Essentially, pretty much got Shane and I addicted. Like he said, first open world experience.
Pretty much are this awesome squad. We'll talk about more, but you're dropped into Bolivia to take out a drug cartel. And there's a lot of twists and turns. And it's just a very immersive game. I think it still holds up today. I can feel one to play through that game. I don't think you're hurting yourself. I give it top marks. No doubt about it. That's a really great game. That's one of our favorite games. And we might even have to do it up. So just on that one and of itself. Maybe.
It's a great one. And the other thing that's great about these Ghost Recon series is. And part of the reason they hold up is because they do such a great job with the post launch content. And so that's something we'll get into later with breakpoint. But then we have 2019 Ghost Recon breakpoint comes out. I don't think Henry and I have been more excited for a reveal trailer in our entire lives. It was incredibly hype. Yeah. That pretty much says it. The hype was real.
The reveal trailer was insane. The build up for this game. I mean, we were already invested into Wildlands. This was pretty much a guaranteed buy. So it wasn't a hard sell. When we're trying to decide are we getting the $60 version in the game with a hundred dollar version in the game? Like there was no question of which if the game was being purchased. Yeah. But yeah, we were certainly excited for this game. We played a lot of it.
And yeah, I think we're excited to just share everything about the game that you can fit into an hour long podcast. Yeah. We're going to go as deep as we can. We'll see if this one stays under that hour mark because there is a lot of frickin' information about that game. Let's start it off, though, Henry, and have you explain the main protagonist behind the series. Yeah. So the story of both Wildlands and Breakpoint revolves around Nomad. And he was born on May 30, 1983 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Nomad was an Army brat who spent most of his childhood moving from base to base. He joined the US Army at the age of 18 and underwent selection for Delta Force at 24. He spent three tours with counterterrorist Task Force 88 before being recruited into the group for specialized tactics, aka the ghosts. Ooh, he rose to the ranks to become a team leader during a difficult mission in Eastern Europe. Kind of fast forward.
He's been the ghost lead for Operation Kingslayer in Bolivia, which is kind of the events of Wildlands. And he was also the ghost lead for Operation Greenstone on Aroa, which is the story of Breakpoint, as well as he's been leading the team for multiple missions in between these. I'm getting goosebumps right now. Like, I love Nomad. Yeah, he gets you high. I mean, Shay and I, as soon as we can scrounge a couple dollars together, I want to get a big, big Nomad poster for the studio.
No doubt about it. Commissions from art or something. But yeah, Nomad's like one of his best lines, I think, just maybe it's real. Maybe it's not real. It's a theoretical line, but just like this is ghost lead. We're Oscar Mike. Like we're on the move. Just like Shay and I will say it. We agree. Come on down the stairs. It's an Oscar Mike. It's an everyday life motto at this point. Even if we win a game, we're Oscar Mike, if we're starting a game, we're Oscar Mike.
We're fanboying hard, but watch the frickin trailers for this series. And don't tell me that Nomad ain't competing with any of these other studs. And I love to do the theoretical battle royales between all of our favorite characters. And Nomad right up there with the guys like John Wick. Like he's a monster. He's a monster. And you'll get more into the story of this game, but he can definitely take a beating and isn't one to count out. He falls down a mountain. That man is getting right back up.
Yeah. But essentially just with this first taste of this video game character, we can already see that this game is deep. It has serious history. There's personal stories here. We know that Nomad has a family, he has kids, but we don't really know a lot of details about it because you know, that's not really mission critical. But you know, he's been through a lot. So I think he's an amazing character to kind of center the story around. And we certainly look up to Nomad, relate to Nomad.
And yeah, I mean, maybe we should get Nomad hats. Dude, we should definitely, how have we not gotten Nomad hats? And it's kind of low key because it has a cool little like Spartan and Domana. I don't think a lot of people would be able to pick us out of the grocery store as nerds, but I'd feel pretty cool. I'm googling right now. We got to find out the cost of a Nomad hat. We might be able to make it happen for the birthday coming up. Let's see, let's see what we got here.
Because it's, I think it's navy blue, which is my favorite color. Beautifully navy blue. I found one on Etsy. Perfect for $35. See, that's a, that's a price. So I think it's worth it. That might be a birthday gift. That might be a birthday gift. That's a pretty good value. I love it. This idea. Let's, let's keep talking about the game though. We're going to fanboy so hard over this. Let's just like pros and cons sneak peek. It's, it's, there's not a lot of cons to this one in our opinion.
But let's keep going. Let's keep going. So the story slash campaign structure of both wildlands and breakpoints is really, really unique because it's not linear. What I mean by that is you don't start the story and kind of go straight to the end, knowing kind of the path and maybe a logical manner. You have some choices to go through the story however you want. So I think a good example of it is really the clarity of wildlands.
And once you have to take down the drug cartel, but you can approach that main campaign task by taking out different organizations within the cartel, whether it was transportation or security, you could prioritize which group to go after first. And you could have, you could avoid ones if you wanted to as well. You did not have to take down every aspect of the cartel to crumble the cartel. And so that's kind of cool. And the way to complete the game is very much up to yourself.
Yeah. And there was, you know, difficulty changes and geographical changes. And so it was very cool that you didn't have to completely wipe the board and you could kind of play it how you wanted. Similar but different and breakpoint, they kind of took some of the good things and left some of the maybe not so good things, it's certainly different. In breakpoint, you do have that kind of end objective.
You almost have multiple end objectives, but you're not necessarily cutting off legs of the Hydra like you were in wildlands. You're kind of chasing different subplots. Like there's a lot of major characters, but they're not necessarily underneath one drug kingpin. They have their own agendas essentially. There's a lot more mystery in breakpoint as well. You don't really know exactly who is behind everything and such.
And you don't have all the information when in wildlands, you kind of came in and you feel like a badass because you're like, okay, here's the mission. We got to do this and do it this way. We'll get into it here in a second because breakpoint is much more of a fight for your life in a way. It's not your typical ghost reconstruction story. You're flipped on your head and tell them what you need to know. We'll talk about the plot now.
So regarding the plot of Ghost Recon breakpoint, the game is set in the year 2025, which is six years after the event of wildlands. The story takes place on a row of an island in the South Pacific owned by billionaire, entrepreneur and philanthropist named Jason Skell. Skell is the founder of Skell Technology, a blue chip company producing drones for commercial applications.
But the company has also found success as a military contractor developing cutting edge equipment for the United States government. The main antagonist in this game is former ghost lieutenant colonel Cole D Walker played by one of Henry and I's favorite actors, John Bernthal, the punisher. Man, definitely got us excited. We had just watched the series. Yeah. Quite a villain. Seeing him show up in that trailer was hype. Was really hype. His character has gone rogue after leaving the army.
After witnessing his fire team be slaughtered on a mission in Bolivia, Walker came to the belief that the United States government does not value the lives of its soldiers. A private military contractor named Sentinel has now occupied the island under Walker's command while Walker himself is leading a team of soldiers calling themselves the wolves. As nomad, you're sent in with your team of ghosts to investigate and take back the island when the island loses connection with the US government.
On arrival, your chopper is shot down and you begin a fight for your survival with what troops remain in an attempt to take back a row and stop Sentinel, hopefully surviving along the way. I don't know what words to use to communicate the hype level of this story. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. You know, listener, I can kind of empathize with you coming into this cold, but this game's unreal. The wolves are so badass. And I guess this is kind of a tangent, but that's just how this up.
So it's going to go. It's going to go that way. Back in wild lands, when we're in Bolivia, the lead, the big bad guy, I'll sway you. He offers me. This is, hey, join my squad and I'll give you money and all these Lamborghinis. And I was tempted. I was like, wow, like this would be a great vacation. It could chill down here. Lambos. I was like considering it. We didn't accept it. Had to reject. But America, if the wolves approached me, they got the cool capes and the masks.
I don't know if I could resist. So like they are badass, bad guys. Walker is very cool, very deep character. And get into this later, but like the post launch content is so crazy that before this game came out, break point, they put in an extra mission in wild lands, which included Walker back there in order to kind of fill in this story and just keep the hype train going. Like, can't be stopped. It's the best thing that Ubisoft does right there is this game straight up.
Let's talk a little bit about the difficulty structure of this game. And we're going to kind of dive through all the features of this game, but it is complex and incredibly customizable. But let's start kind of with the difficulty settings. Yeah. So essentially you're this crack team going there, your special forces, you're taking down these enemy bases. And there's drones and there's tanks and there's people in juggernaut. Like armor, there's snipers, there's all sorts of AI enemies.
And to be honest, they're pretty dang smart. That was one of the selling points was that they wanted the enemies to have their own communication system and movement system and be more interactive rather than just kind of like the dummies. I think you get used to playing through these tactical shooter style games. Yeah. Even though like the options are endless really on how you approach a certain base, some are on the water.
So you can attack by sea, attack by air, land, different directions, cliffs, whatever. But you really have two main options, loud or quiet. And depending on the difficulty setting, quiet is really going to be the way to go. Yeah. Sometimes it's the only option. Play on a high level difficulty and try to go in loud. You're in trouble. Like really you are. Yeah. I mean, you might think that you're safe in behind cover.
You're not like they'll send mortars at you helicopters, drones, they'll snipe you in the head. They don't care about you. Like they will kill you. So yeah, this game can be very difficult from an AI perspective. It's very dynamic. There's a wide range of enemies. They talk to each other.
They communicate like Cheyenne was saying, you can prioritize taking out leaders in the group and that will make it easier interrogating people for information as a major thing for looking at choke points or weaknesses or high profile targets. Taking out the communications officer so they can't call in reinforcements, which is the major priority. And drones are a huge part of this game.
So we would recommend taking out the guys and charge the drones for the base because if you get spotted and the drone guy is still alive, you're going to have multiple drones coming in at you hard and fast. And we can't under like it's hard to understand how dominant these things are. These are so good. They're so good.
Yeah, I guess the best way I can describe it is imagine there is a professional call duty player who is be hopping and strafing faster than humanly possible and then make them levitate with too many guns on each hand and I can't miss. They got aim bot like controller. The strafing ability of these drones is not fair. You can't shoot them sometimes, but the AI is very deep, very complex, very cool. You also have turrets and all sorts of stuff. You can cut the power to places. You can do so much.
So much. Shoot out the lights. It's amazing. It's awesome. And then the next kind of thing is the health is very customizable. So when you start break point, you're going to have a couple options on game customization. And from a difficulty perspective, you can play. We'll dive into it more in a second here, but you can play with like injuries being no big deal versus completely altering how you play the game.
I think the best way to get the authentic experience out of this game is just to set it to the normal setting that you start with. I think that's fair to say. If you want to go hard hard like Henry and I try and do crank it up all the way, but the whole man will you get frustrated at moments. Yeah. And health is a very, very deep thing. I'm not quite sure why, but they really took the whole health mechanic to the next level and wildlands. We didn't have the same sort of depth.
You essentially just had regenerating health for the most part. And there's there is regeneration in this game as well, but like you can't regenerate to max health, if that makes sense. And that's kind of the difficulty behind it as well. Once you break your leg, you're not going back to 100% before you go back and heal that thing. Yeah. And then the next kind of very interesting and a very decisive thing with this game and was a huge deal for Henry and I is there's weapon power in this game.
And so the thing is it's optional. It is now optional, but upon launch this game was it very much in the same vein as the division and from a looting perspective and the games like destiny and destiny to where guns have a rarity and a side numerical value. And you can only you're going to struggle to fight people that are higher levels than you in the games and such.
And you got to do a lot of looting and crafting and selling of these guns as you find them throughout the missions in different ways. And this was very different wildlands wildlands at a incredibly different gun system. Do you want to explain that a little bit? Yeah, essentially it was just a flat system like the guns had their stats. There was only one AK-47 and it could be upgraded with attachments, but it couldn't be leveled up.
And one break point was launched and what's still in the game as an option is you pretty much if you got an AK-47 and started putting attachments on it, it was a level 10 AK. So you were putting these attachments on it, but the gun kind of had a cap to it, which is just different. I mean, like you said, a lot of games have this kind of mechanic and the division and destiny are very popular games. Little shooter shooter. Yeah, that's right. Nice work.
But I think one of the cool things that we liked about wildlands and now this game is if our playstyle is we want to snipe, we know that we can locate the best sniper for us that we want and go fight, get it, might be hard, might be in a tricky situation, but we can get the loadout that we want and play with it whenever we want more freedom to that.
And with the other system, it's just harder because even if you really liked how the AK-47 handle the recoil of it, the damage output was just going to cap you so you couldn't actually continue to use it as enemies leveled up. So it was just kind of hard. And so to clarify, in a post launch update, they added a setting called Ghost Mode where you can kind of play the original style of this game and turn off the looter shooter element of it.
And so play it similar to that wildlands and how Henry just described it. I would, Henry and I are not huge looter shooter fans. And so if you like that gameplay style, keep it on. You know, I think you'll enjoy it. But if you don't, don't have that intimidate you at all because you can turn it off and that's how Henry and I play. And part of it is not, it's not about the difficulty of it.
It's about the, we look at this game as a way to, and a way for us to enjoy tactical combat and having to focus on looting as well, kind of takes away from that in a way. Yeah, I felt like when we were playing through it initially, and it is exciting when an enemy drops like a purple weapon, you know, and essentially you have to do that in order to level up your character in order to progress and to keep up with the ever increasing enemies.
But it just made it more difficult to say, all right, I want to do, you know, a DMR and SMG because well, maybe they're only dropping you a purple LMG. So you're going to have to adapt, and that was fun. I learned that LMGs are very good, but it's just you couldn't have as much control over your loop. And a huge part of this game is choosing how you want to attack and the looting element kind of took that away, partially.
Let's talk about the survival element of this game because it's huge part of breakpoint, something that really separated it from wildlands. And so first we'll start with the health kind of structure and the injury function in this game. So when it came to injuries, when your ghost takes damage, you can now also become injured, which slows you down and hurts your ability to perform in combat. There's three tiers to the injury system and breakpoint. Those tiers are one minor injury.
So when this happens, you have a limp when you're walking and sprinting, your stamina is reduced and aiming can be wobbly. And that's the minor injury, okay? It just gets worse. When you got severe injury, you're bleeding out, your limp gets much worse, reducing your speed and stamina is greatly reduced. Last but not least, you have critical injury. You are officially unable to sprint. Stamina is almost nothing. Prone and crout speed is severely reduced.
You can only walk and you can only defend yourself with your sidearm or pistol. As a real detriment when you're in combat and you get hit with a critical injury, you take some serious damage. The only way to fix this is bandages. They can cure any of the above injuries and then you also have syringes in this game and they can only be used to heal minor and severe injuries. Do you want to explain how awesome bandages are and breakpoint? Well, you need them. Are you talking about the animation?
I'm talking about the animation. Yeah. So it's next level honestly. The animation of applying bandages is really cool. It's very intricate. I'll just say that you can get injured in a variety of ways. Maybe the most common is falling down. If you take a tumble down a hill, you're getting hit with a severe injury. Essentially, you will break your leg and have to bandage up and such. That's pretty cool. You can also have an injury put on top of just the damage you receive from gunfire.
If this is my experience, if it's like a high caliber round. If somebody is shooting a mini gun at you, that's not just going to do damage. That's going to give you a critical injury and break your leg or something. It's so awesome how realistic it is because I love video games in general. In a lot of video games, you can fall off a mountain, take five bullets while it's happening and then just go hide behind the corner and you're going to automatically regen.
This game, when you get hurt, you're like, oh god, I'm limping there. I'm done. Please cover me. Now I'm applying a bandage, which takes time. Now I got a pop of syringe to get fully back to health is the long process. On top of that kind of injury function, when it comes to survival, there's a lot of consumables in this game. You got your water canister for your stamina. There's protein packs that give you boost, all sorts of food and medicine function throughout the game.
It's part of a way that you collect them throughout the game as you pick up flowers and other things. You're an expert crafter at this. You're an Eagle Scout in this game. You know, I know I'm at the Eagle Scout. It's a very intricate system. I really like it. What are your thoughts on the concealables in this game? You know, it's cool. It's just another layer to this game. But I will say that this is kind of an optional thing. You don't necessarily have to be a Minecraft crafter.
You can just purchase your consumables. And you don't necessarily have to be eating foods in order to increase your agility or your aim. But you can. And as the difficulty increases, you might want it because you can get dropped really fast if you're not at peak performance. Yeah. It's just cool. There's so many layers to this game. And so it's interesting to see them add a full on crafting system in a way that I think works.
And I like what you're saying and that it is optional, which is very nice. And then obviously back to the original point, but like adjusting difficulty throughout this game changes the importance of that consuming of the materials and stuff. And I guess the last thing kind of in the survival category is Bivouac's. So Bivouacs, you know, homesteaders, they are kind of your allies throughout the storyline.
They've prepared safe spaces around the archipelago where you can rest when out scavenging or on hunting expeditions and each is signpost by a campfire that's been left burning, creating a large plume of smoke. As a ghost, smoke brings unwattened attention. So the first thing you do upon setting up at the Bivouac is put out the fire, great awesome animation when you're into Bivouac. Essentially the location will be marked on the map and the ghost can instantly travel to it anytime.
As long as he's not in combat, there's 115 Bivouacs around the row. Bivouacs are really just used for fast traveling, healing and crafting of items, but they are a really cool function from a gameplay standpoint and from an animation standpoint, in my opinion. Yeah, and this is going to definitely be a major part of the game. Maybe it can be a fast traveling point and already get you into different objectives, but this is where you're going to be doing a lot of your preparation.
So you're going to be putting on attachments, you're going to be changing your loadouts, you might be getting your skill tree looking at that, upgrading your player, but the additional preparations is pretty cool, that every time you leave a Bivouac, you have the opportunity to select a different preparation that will have a duration of up to an hour. And they'll give you some kind of bonus so you can eat food which will increase stamina or drink water.
There's so many things increasing accuracy, explosive damage. It's really, really cool and customizable. It is very cool. Bivouacs are a really cool component of this game, nice introduction, not only to the story, but also to just the functionality. I really like them. Definitely. Let's talk gunplay. This is big. I mean, this is a shooter. I think it really has a very cool, complex gun mechanic, but essentially, you're armed to the teeth.
Like you have a primary weapons and a secondary, which is, most likely, going to be a pistol. But you really have complete freedom as to what weapons you're going to carry. You can have an AR. You can have a submachine gun, LMG snipers, DMRs, like long range shotguns. Yeah. Just a lot of different weapon types that you can put into those primary two slots with attachments and such. It's a lot.
But one of the reasons that we're drawn to this game is it's a third person shooter with the option to go to first person when aiming and shooting. And that's a really, really, really cool mechanic that makes this attachable shooter. It really is awesome because Henry and I love the aesthetic of the third person shooter and then the gameplay of the first person. And don't get me wrong. You can still play this game third person as well.
Like you can shoot and fight in third person and you will in situations. But having the customization ability to go into that first person when you're aiming down sights on a long gun is really, really cool. And as unique as heck, we haven't found a lot of games that do this style at all. Yeah, it's definitely a unique game. I mean, this style of game is not found everywhere. There's not a lot of them. But if you're looking for something that is very tactical, it's a beautiful game.
It's got some challenge, it's got some teamwork. I think the gunplay in this will not disappoint you. Definitely not. You strongly stand by that statement, 100%. Getting weapons in this game is a really cool process. I think we'll explain it from the non-looter way because if you play in the shooter style, you kill people and then you'll find guns. Guns are kind of scattered around the map in different either like trunks or just cases and there's tons of ways to find the guns.
And so if you pick up the gun that way, you can keep it for the rest of the game and not worry about it. But if you want to switch guns a lot, you're going to have to find the blueprint for the weapon and you find the blueprint somewhere on the map. They are the same for everyone. And so there's if you just want to kind of skip the process of looking everywhere, you can Google it online and find the best snipers blueprint wherever you want.
And so doing that will then allow you to at any point when you're at the main home hub of the game to customize that gun and craft it to whatever level you currently are. Yeah, I like it. I like how you go up into this game. I think that it's cool. It might sound very complicated, blue prints and all this complicated stuff, but it really isn't. It's not that bad. You can make different weapons work essentially and it goes into the plot of the game.
You're kind of you're on your own, you don't have backup, you're scavenging and you don't necessarily have to use weapons. You can use cars or helicopters or whatever to get the job done. And then talking about on top of the actual guns, you also have a very immersive equipment and gadgets inventory. Yeah. So deep. A million different grenade types. C4, mines, antipersonal mines, antivirical mines, EMPs, MP mines, breach torch. Flashbang. Yeah, it is everything.
Everything you're hard to desire is that breach torch was a cool introduction because it allowed you to even more kind of be able to customize your approach of a base in order to cut through fences, which is very cool. And then there's also the introduction of the sync shot drone, which goes into your inventory. And that's kind of unique, pretty much pop a small little compact drone up in the air and then mark an enemy. And then on your signal, the drones will execute that order.
So sync shots are a huge function of this series and of itself. The ability to mark a B C and D of four enemies and then on your shot, your AI teammates or your if you're on mic with your other teammates, you all hit your targets and take out four enemies at the same time. It is one of the most satisfying feelings. Like I think I've ever had playing a video game pulling off a successful sync shot. It's very cool for sure. Marking is also a huge function of gunplay at this point.
You once you mark an enemy, it's kind of interesting, but you can really see them anywhere they go at that point. And so you'll have auto marking on your guns or you can turn it off as well. And that comes in the multiplayer function, which we'll talk about later. But the auto marking in the gameplay is really important, especially if you're playing online with teammates and that's just another aspect of the gunplay in of itself. Yeah, marking is huge.
But just alongside it is also the drone that everybody carries. And it's really a major part of the recon component of the Ghost Recon games. Very cool. You can send the drone ahead. You can circle around bases in order to tag and mark enemies, plan your attack, all sorts of stuff. The drone can be upgraded in a variety of ways, battery life range, all sorts of stuff. Thermal vision. Like so many cool things. Drone is definitely a friend. You'll be using the drone a lot in this game, honestly.
Let's talk a little bit now about the classes in Ghost Recon breakpoint. So during games, players have the opportunity to unlock and choose a class for their character. Each class has their own set of abilities, items and play styles that kind of dictate how you and your team will play together and attack different missions. So I think maybe we'll go through these and then maybe tell a little bit of our experience with them because I know there's a couple we haven't played personally.
The first of which is the assault character, kind of the attacker, says it for himself. His unique item is the gas grenade and he has an ability called TrueGrit and activates that reduces his recoil completely and increases damage resistance for a limited time. Do you have any experience playing this guy? I have not. It's a pretty straightforward kit though. Essentially you're going to be more locked in for gun fights.
You're going to be able to hold down that base of fire and then with the skill tree, you're going to be able to just kind of advance on that. Gas grenade is definitely interesting though. Something to check out. A little caustic vibe in there. Next you got the field medic and this is kind of your stereotypical healer and their unique item is a med kit that's thrown down and picked up by either yourself or teammates to heal and buff your health.
Additionally they have the ability of a healing drone that revives teammates. I'll let you explain this one for everyone. This is your guy. Yeah, I've played a little bit of the healer. Unique item is really cool. Being able to kind of overheal yourself here at teammates is definitely nice. Take some time but it is a very nice unique piece of loop that you can carry.
That kind of ultimate ability, the drone being able to heal is harder than it might sound and definitely is harder than previous titles where we've had that functionality but still is a really cool ability. You really in this game, you don't want to go down. It's not like you don't want to just run into hellfire. Going down is a really bad thing and so having a medic kind of takes a little bit of that pressure off but really you want to play this tactical and smart.
One part of that is the next class and that is the panther and who is predicated on stealth in a way. Their unique item is a cloaking spray. Used to become undetectable by drones. Drones are a huge function of breakpoints. You'll be using this ability a lot. Their special ability is a cloak and run which kind of deploys a smoke screen around you and your teammates to get out of there if need be. I played panther release. The stealth is really cool because they also have like passives.
Each of these have really small passives but pretty much makes their footsteps softer and things like that harder to detect. But essentially the ultimate is really cool. If you're in a bad situation and you're marked and the enemy is pursuing, you can put out the smoke screen and then everybody that's within the smoke is then undetected. It's really cool. Cloaking spray, little harder but drones are definitely a threat. I think it's something that you should use if the situation presents itself.
Definitely. Then we have the sharp shooter. They are kind of the sniper. This is the character I played the most of in breakpoint. I don't know why breakpoints. One of the few games I'm actually pretty good at sniping and I'm not normally a sniper and all the other first person shooters. But their unique item is amazing. It's a sensor grenade launcher that marks enemies in a large area. Does a large area do this ability just as Henry? No, this thing is certainly overpowered.
You want this on your team. Yeah. It'll save you. I recommend having a sharp shooter when you're playing or doing it yourself. Their kind of ultimate ability is a armor-buster ammo put into the weapon for buffed all the penetration, damage and muzzle velocity. This is important just for taking out the big behemoth tanks and larger enemies you'll run into at the end of the game. We definitely recommend having a sniper on the squad, mainly for that unique item though.
Yeah. Just to kind of clarify, although you have these classes, it does not control what weapons you do or what playstyle you have. With the skill tree and with your own personal interest, everybody can be stealth. Everybody can have a sniper. You can upgrade to be faster at resing or being a healer, having better syringes. I think the classes was a cool introduction to this game. It kind of allows you to profess your identity a little bit, but it definitely is not constricting to anything.
Not at all. The classes I think become more important when you are playing with more people. Then you can highly specialize. When we're, if we ever had four people to play this game with and I was playing as a sniper, I can not only then focus on sniping, but I could alter my skill tree so that I'm not using perks and stuff for in-game combat. Because at that point, I really can stay back if my teammate has more people to operate with compared to when Henry and I just played together.
As much as I want to snip and cover him, I can't leave him alone as he runs into a base. Yeah, I can't be trusted. I can't handle myself. Well, there's a lot of enemies. There's a lot of enemies. It's unfair. There's a lot of enemies. There's a lot of enemies. There's a couple DLC classes as well. There's going to be two more additionally added after these two. We'll go over these real quick.
Don't have a ton of experience with them, but we got Ed Shulon, which is kind of introduced from the, what's the Spinter Cell? Spinter Cell, Tom Clancy, Spinter Cell. Their unique item is a shock pistol that can auto snap for headshots when a player is affected and their abilities are a sonar scan that reveals all enemy positions in the surrounding area. Pretty fun character to play for sure.
Yeah, I mean, this player is pretty much centered around pistol usage and really that's a really fun way to play this game is to focus on that secondary. Get up close in personal. You have the close quarter combat finishers that you can do, which are really cool and so. Couple in those. What would you like stealth take downs as well as pistol usage is really a fun way to play. Then you got the engineer unique item supply drone that contains ammo and can be exploded when shot.
Also their ability is that they deploy an attack drone that targets enemies. We haven't used the engineer a whole ton. So to speak, if you should start your game by getting the engineer or not, it's kind of hard to say. But if you got a full squad, this could definitely be a fun guy to maybe incorporate in there. Let's talk about the map like this is a huge aspect of the game, both games, you know, wildlands and break point. But looking at break points specifically, we got a row.
It's an archipelago on a remote island in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean. And the island is incredibly unique because it's made up of 11 individual biomes. So it's very much kind of like a fantasy video game island in a way because you got marina suaries, wetlands, you know, rainforest, snow cap mountains, fjords and active volcanoes, all in eyes distance from each other. It's pretty cool.
And it's kind of supported by a little bit of tech kind of creating these different environments, scale, technology, definitely, dabbles and all sorts of stuff from agriculture to weapons as we were saying. It's a pretty dangle environment to be completing these objectives though. I don't know, this may be tough to say, but it's potentially my favorite map I've ever played in a video game. It just looks so good. It's hard to put it into words, honestly.
This is when I wish we weren't doing a podcast and we were making the video of some sort. Yeah, that's for sure. I mean, one of the major things that I look for in a really good shooter and kind of world creation is verticality. You know, I want to be able to go from swimming in water to climbing mountains. And in this game, you can, it's meant to do that. Like that is exactly what this game does.
The buildings and cities and of themselves have so much verticality as well, which is so cool, like in a lot of open world games, the actual cities and buildings you can't even go into. And so to be able to do that in this one is really awesome. Yeah, it's really beautiful. It's a huge map. Also just kind of looking at the map, it feels very tactical. We have up graphical lines, the kind of sea.
Okay, this is going to, we're going to have to climb here and already get to the back of the base, which is kind of cool. And then being able to fast travel on the map to those people wax is a very cool function of the map, but just the aesthetics of it, you know, day, night cycle. All sorts of really cool stuff that we love. And this is it. It's a very much a living environment. You'll love the map if you try this game. No doubt about it.
Henry, tell these people great listeners that we love with all of our hearts about the vehicles. Yeah. So vehicles are going to be an important part. You know, you have some options as to whether you want to be able to deploy vehicles while in the field, you know, because maybe that's not very realistic that you can't just create a helicopter from a campsite. But really, again, if you want, and I recommend that you do because it makes it a lot more fun and more options for you to play the game.
But in Wildlands, a major staple of the game, in my opinion, was the dirt bikes and being able to go through the jungles of Bolivia, hit rocks and get flown off of your dirt bike and die. Yeah. But that is back. Dirt bikes are really fun. Definitely having two people on dirt bikes is fun to be able to get some place pretty quick. You also have just a variety of trucks and cars. They can have armored troop transports with weapons on them.
It's a different helicopters from pretty much like news helicopters to like fully armed missile and mini gun helicopters. Almost badass looking things you'll see. And you also have a lot of different boats from little robots to full on ski boats. So combat boats like it's crazy. It's really crazy. This game also has potentially one of Henry and I's favorite vehicles of all time. What's the descriptor? What's the descriptor? It's a truck. Just a regular run of the mill supply truck.
Wait. If you're in the passenger seat though, you can activate the weapons and the top of the truck opens up and a huge turret comes out. Maybe yeah, we'll try and post it on the Instagram. I think so you guys can see it if you want to look it up because it was one of the coolest experiences us using that thing for the first time. And it was a steal. We had to buy it like it was on a major discount. I don't know, but it's pretty cool to be able to just be driving around the road. You blend in.
You blend right in and then enemies pass you by freaking turn on. I'm transformers. Definitely. It's really fun. A couple other in game features. I think that are worth covering it. One being the buddy carry when an allies down instead of trying to revive in the middle of a firefight, you can pick them up and carry them as safety before reviving. It's a cool feature, but it's actually not really as useful as you would think it is. It takes a long time to actually pick up the player.
When you pull it off, you look like an absolute badass for doing it. Big facts. There's also a really cool feature called prone camo. So good. Pretty much. I mean, you feel like you're a special forces like this legend. You pretty much lay down, you're able to hide in any environment that you're in. So if you prone camo and snow, you're going to be covered in snow, sand, there's a ton of different biomes. So you can pretty much blend into anything, put mud on your face and all sorts of stuff.
And it's going to conceal you from definitely helicopters and drones that are flying overhead. And people that are walking pretty dang close to you. Yeah, you can pull off some really, really cool plays with the prone camo. And I usually just like to start off all my missions, laying down, rolling around in the dirt. So I think it's a good thing to do. It's an awesome thing. We were also hyped during the trailer when the prone camo was activated for the first time.
Another cool feature in this game is adaptive cover. It's a huge difference between wild lands and breakpoint, the new adaptive cover system. It allows you like peak corners and do things like leaning when you're walking through doorways to aim around corners. A lot of people didn't like in wild lands that there was not a huge cover mechanic. There was no peeking over or like aiming down sights over the cover. You had to like crouch and do all yourself.
It's very much came from I think the division cover mechanics. It's not as fully fledged out as those ones. But it definitely is inspired by that one, I would say. Yeah, and the next kind of big feature that we've alluded to a little bit is the skill tree. And it's really just fully fledged. It's very deep. Lots of different options. And those options can range from passive abilities to perks that you attach to like how much you can upgrade certain equipment.
You can have a Mark II frag grenade or a Mark II syringe. That's going to be better and bigger, you know, whatever. That's pretty cool. You can customize a lot within the skill tree. And those perks are also a major component of the game. You have three different slots that he actually had to unlock with skill points. But the perks are going to be pretty powerful. Honestly, it is hard to choose perks. Oh my God. Really good, really fun. I don't even know if I have any advice.
There's a couple that I like, but really I love them all. Like it depends. I know there's amazing stealth ones. There's amazing assault ones that you can put on the more people you play with. The easier the perks get to be because then I think you get to specialize a little bit more. But like Henry and I play this game with ourselves. And so it's like, I'm the sniper.
So I want to attach a sniper perk, but I also need to have some perks that help me in combat because we're going in there as well compared to like if we had four people and I could just go all out on the sniper perks and then maybe become a monster in that way. It's a lot of customization though and it's a really awesome function of the game. Yeah. And we've talked about it and you guys probably already understand this, but something that just needs its own headline, this game is go up.
And being able to play through a PvE huge open world experience with your friend up to three other friends is pretty awesome. Like it's very immersive, very cool. You can coordinate your attacks on bases, you can go stealth, you can sync shot with snipers. It is very, very cool and to be able to do it with up to a squad of four is just fantastic. Absolutely amazing. Then you have raids as well. Rades are co-opting the vents that require four players and are supposed to be extremely difficult.
They transport you to a completely different location from the main island of Auroa. The raids take place in unique different environments and for example the first raid takes place at a base that is attached to the side of an active volcano. And you're going to have it played it because you have to have four people to do it and we haven't played with randoms because I don't know why yet, but maybe we'll have to try it at some point. I don't know if you can.
You might have to have them in your lobby. You might have to have them in the party. Yeah. But we could do a looking for groups and do all that, but you can't have any weak links in this game. Yeah, I'll be able to hold your own. A lot of people were saying this was inspired from the Destiny raids, which are really popular. And so I think incorporating this function was just another thing they did to upgrade this game from Wildlands, but I got to love the raids a little bit.
Absolutely. And then you have AI squad mates, which is an absolutely awesome component for the single player experience because you can fill in your squad of four with three other AI teammates which can do a whole lot. You know, they can do synch shots with you. They can revive you. They can fight. They can reposition all on your different commands. It's an awesome cast. Great crew. Yeah. And the voice lines are really cool. But I will say even with these AI squad mates, they're not like robots.
Sometimes they miss and sometimes they're not enough. Like I have lost and died with AI squad mates. Like they're not necessarily just going to carry you. They're not open. You have to carry them essentially and coordinate with them in order to maximize the effectiveness. But it's definitely a really cool feature that was added in post launch. And I'm so glad it did because this function is pretty much one of our favorite parts of Wildlands.
And in my opinion, it just puts it into our Hall of Fame games like it really. This is a really, really cool feature that makes it not only approachable, but just so cool. The order wheel is amazing. Yeah. You feel like such a badass when you're using it. Know that about it. Another function of this game is the multiplayer. It's called Ghost War. It is a slept on multiplayer experience. Four V4 highly competitive hardcore gameplay.
There's a couple different modes on relatively large maps for it being four before. And the third person, obviously you got your ability to go prone, throwables, tons of loot is around the map. You don't really start with the grenades and stuff. You have to pick them up along with the drones, healables as well. So it's a very interesting style. It's very unique in that way.
And you still have the classes incorporated into the multiplayer experience, which makes the actual gameplay pretty unique every time around. It's very hardcore. And it's very tactical. It's very much slow paced. It's I say hardcore because it's like you have a very minimal HUD too. Like it's very much. There's not a lot of indicators. People are blending in there. You know, it's a big map. And there's only eight people. So it's pretty hard. We like the challenge.
I don't know if it's everybody's cup of tea though. It's definitely a challenging multiplayer that is something to definitely try out. Yeah. None doubt about it for sure. And we've alluded to it, but one of the biggest aspects of this game is its post launch content. Hey, such a good job. Such a freaking good job. They always have great post launch support.
You know, extra stories incorporating other games like Splinter Cell. They have a storyline that involves you attacking and taking down terminators inspired from the movie. It's awesome. You know, wildlands had a predator story inspired from that movie as well. Like that is such a huge deal. And it's just a bullet point in this game. It's so good. Yeah. It's pretty impressive. Yeah. And so I think overall, let's look a little bit about maybe our impressions.
Of this game, when we've talked about games in the past, you've obviously heard our pros and cons segment. Should we start with the pros or start with the cons? I think we can probably start with the pros and it's going to be a little different. You know, we only talk about good games on this show essentially. And this game is a year old. So in order to get on this show, it has to have something to show for it. And the pros pretty much everything that we've been talking about.
Yeah. Very deep, well thought out game. If this is the type of game you want to play, everything is a pro. Like there is not a lot of negative stuff in this game. There's not a lot of I wish I could do this or I wish I could do that. Like if you're looking for tactical shooter with survival elements and the ability to play with your friends, it does not get better than this. Yeah. I would very much like to give a firm handshake to whoever put this game out. I mean, the director is a savage.
Like this game is an A plus four, exactly what it wants to be. Definitely. Let's go through the cons though. We do have a couple of them. The first of which being you can't feel squad with AI. And so Henry and I is playing with Duos. I kind of wish that we could get two more AI teammates in there to maybe do the raids and such, which is we're just nitpicking. But like it would be cool to have that ability, I think. It would definitely be cool. I'm done here.
It's hard to keep up with Henry and Jay. Yeah, but they have to be good. They have a tendency of trying their best. So it's a con, but it's a really cool feature that they did introduce and maybe we'll get that in a future title perhaps. Maybe. Another con is that although you have lots of flexibility and freedom and how you accomplish the overall campaign, you can accomplish really, really big objectives in an illogical way.
And that is kind of disappointing, but you can also look at it as a pro. But we think that it doesn't really make sense if you can go after the big bad guy without having to do like the intel and the research and go after and interrogate people and find out where they are. We pretty much just shot in the dark. We were able to find the big bad guy and bring him to justice.
And then it's weird because he's still going to show up in the story mode along the way for us as we finish the rest of the game. And so that's not our favorite thing. But honestly, that wasn't really a thing in Wildlands because it was more structured. And so it's kind of interesting to see how that showed up in this one a little bit. That's the thing, open world games, obviously a lot of issues that sometimes come with these game styles.
You got like geography glitches and long wait times unloading screens, just kind of the run of the mill open world stuff. I mean, I haven't played a ton of GTA, which seems to kind of be the staple open world game to know if that stuff happens in there. But all the open world games I've played Assassin's Creed and stuff all struggle with this kind of stuff. So that just kind of files into the con list a little bit there.
Yeah. And then just that con for the supports that if you're looking for this game, it's great. If you are trying to force yourself into this game, you might have some disappointments. But overall, we recommend it. Last thoughts. It's a fantastic game like more Oscar Mike. I hope this we have some failings with the recording so we can talk about this game again in for an hour. Sure. Part two. Part two. Okay. Let's dive into a last couple of segments and wrap up this episode.
Which being make it a game. Explain this for maybe some new listeners that join us. Yeah. This is a really fun segment where we take some sort of event movie idea book, whatever. And talk about how it could potentially be a really awesome game and some features that it might have. And this week we have a pretty cool idea that takes from some characters that we hold near and dear to our hearts from the Marvel universe. One is our boy Hawkeye or Ronan. The most valuable Avenger.
It's not even close. You know, he doesn't show up. They lose very, very simple form. It's a simple formula. Look at the stats. The stats don't lie, man. We are in a data analytically driven world. True. And this is supported. Open world crime fighting game for this character. Kind of taking the hundred and I love the Batman Arkham Knight series. So that kind of play style mixed with some ghost of Tsushima in a post snap world.
So obviously we had that five year jump post snap where we know that Hawkeye was going on a bit of a killing spree taken out the Yakuza and drug cartels and kind of offering some anti hero justice to people. You could say that. Yeah. It would be a really, really awesome game though to play. I mean, I am a freaking huge fanboy of this character. And so I would absolutely adore to play this guy in that way. But the amount of like you've looked a little bit out this idea of world building.
The opportunity behind that. Do you want to explain that? Yeah. I mean, this game could be really awesome. I think back to the scene where we kind of see Ronan in Japan and there's a city escape and half the buildings aren't lit up because it's post snap and that's people are gone. And so I think a game that kind of explored what it's like to live in a world where you know, a couple years ago, half the people disappeared. How are things different? What's still operating? How does it look like?
I think it would be a pretty cool opportunity to flesh that out a little bit. But having a lead like Ronan would be pretty intense, you know. So an arrow, a gameplay can be really cool with all different tips. He has a pretty nice sword in that area. Yeah. So we don't even know enough to know how awesome this game could be. But it would definitely be rated M from a jerk. Oh, no doubt about it. No doubt about it. It's not available to all of the gamers out there.
But it's one that we might try and turn down the the blood settings, maybe. I don't know. It could get graphic. It could get really graphic. There's some serious life taking in that series. Time to dive into Selma game, Henry. Explain this one again for maybe some new listeners. So this is one where Shay and I go head to head and try to find a game that the other would like to play.
Try to sell it without revealing it, see if they can get some buy in and then see if they sold them on selling them a game. Fair enough. Who went first last week? I don't really remember, but I'm ready. Okay. If you want to go first, let's hear it. So I just introduced the segment, but essentially Shay just got a PC and that's opened up a lot of opportunity for me to work in games for this segment. But it's also encouraged me to be looking at a PC for myself.
So I've been looking at games to try to convince myself to make the switch. You have to look at anything other than the anno. Yeah. So anno is one into the segment. So pretty much anno, world building game, city builder, all sorts of cool stuff. I really want to play it. And I have a little bit of my poor laptop can handle it. So that's one. But for this week, I kind of have a game for you, but it's mostly for me. I like it. We have pretty similar tastes. Yeah. I think.
And you know, way back in the day, you play a little bit of zoo tycoon. Oh, loves you tycoon. And I know where you're going because I've explained I've spent a lot of time in steam the last couple of days since I got the PC. Well, that's here. Maybe we should take it away. I don't know. No, no, I'm ready. I'm ready. Let's go. Let's go. Well, there's a lot of tycoon games that we can talk about. And you know, maybe they'll be featured on this show at some point.
They're very different from the majority of the stuff. Yeah. We do a lot of tycoons. I said on the first episode of the show that Rollicoster tycoon 2 really started it all for me and kind of I attribute to a lot of the business aside of myself being a credited to. But I don't know if I'm going to disappoint you because I might not be thinking about what you're thinking. But essentially, there is an updated new version of Rollercoaster tycoon 2. Love it.
And it's really cool because the graphics are updated to the max. It looks really cool, day night cycle, whole, like huge customization. A lot of the tycoon games are kind of set in their environments. But in this one, you can have a whole lot of different biomes from tropical to desert. Really cool. I've watched some gameplay trying to convince myself to get a PC. You can do a lot of stuff. That's a $1 game. That's pretty much what it comes down to when you look at a PC.
But yeah, I mean, you can not only create your own Rollercoasters in it, but you also can pretty much create the stalls to sell different items and customize hats and recipes and condiments on stuff. It gets pretty deep on that end. Another cool feature that I like is kind of pulling from the real world and Disneyland. Okay. So you have a fast pass feature. That's awesome. So you can build priority lines and they'll then sell priority passes, which is kind of cool.
And then I think one of the also cool features is you can also ride the rides. Oh, that's awesome. You know, with a nice PC and a nice, you know, that can be a good time. That's a good view and experience. VR capability. Potentially. Oh, man. Oh, man. But yeah, this game is pretty cool.
I think I might be getting sold on it, but also just the decoration and like environment building is really, really seamless like you can build bridges and all sorts of different scenery to make the park just look really crisp and it seems easy to do. So I think I could do it, but it's called Planet Coaster. Okay. And it might be a buy for me. I don't know if it's going to be a buy for you. It's so funny because I was looking at Planet Zoo the other day.
And that's where I thought you were going. And I think they're super similar. They're super similar, but like I love that they just kind of like we did these and they're upgraded. And I have been so close to buying it now for a couple of days straight. Like I would get both like the planet, the zoo tycoon that had dinosaurs in it. Oh, man.
It's pretty insane because like you also had like the like and the the jeeps that would go out and if the dinosaur broke out, they would have to take them out. And that was pretty intense. So I'd be in to do another zoo or roller coaster game anytime soon. You might have sent me over the limit because I was already so close to making this purchase. Oh, man. Okay. I'm going to sell you a game. Do it. I want you to play this game. Like I want you to after we do this, go buy the game.
We're going to be streaming here in a little bit. It's a bold statement, but I would like that to happen. This place, this game has such a special soft spot in my heart. This is your like I Gears of War. Was that the game you did on the first episode for me? Or is still similar to that metal gear metal gear, metal gear solid. This is like my version of that. Today I will be describing an action adventure third person video game. So good recipe. Great recipe.
I'm hoping I can convince you to commit some hours to it. Single player experience. I know how much you like single player games being able to get lost in the world by all by yourself is a very nice feeling. The world that these games create are just incredible. And saying that you get lost in it is the simplest way to describe it. This is one of the first games that portrayed itself not only as a video game, but as a movie. So cinematically, it's just absolutely breathtaking.
The story line's amazing. You'll get attached to these characters much more than maybe any other characters you've ever gotten attached to in video games. You'll be invested in the story itself and little spoiler alert. Is that it's a huge series. So it's like a huge series. So like I can't go over ahead. There's a long time to go. Third person game involves a lot of shooting 3D platforming, a K lots of climbing and then puzzle solving. There's a lot of puzzle solving in this game.
The main protagonist of the game can be described as a swave treasure hunter that is seeking adventure for a multitude of reasons that you will learn throughout the story. While in that open world, there's still a lot of space to roam on a mission, the mission is the basis and the environment itself always manages to impress. And then kind of the last thing I'll say is the missions are crazy.
They put you in situations you may never have thought you'd be in, whether it be pursuing people on horseback and chasing a bunch of folks or trying to stop a plane while it's on the runway and you're in a car, jumping from car to car. It's just always a great time. Stories insane. It's really the first game I played and fell in love with the story of and got me like attached to like campaign story modes.
And then there is a multiplayer experience as well, TDM style, wave based survival mode as well. If you want to play that by yourself or with a friend, I know you like that. That's a big selling point. And potentially my favorite game mode of all time, three team death match where you got three teams of two fighting to kill a limit of 25. I am talking about the uncharted series on PlayStation, most specifically uncharted two has a special place in my heart.
These are just absolutely amazing games that I know you haven't had the time yet to invest in. And I would say it is so much worth it, especially because you got the PlayStation right now. Yeah. I really should have heard nothing but good things about it. I think you can definitely lock some hours. I should because essentially you're getting to be in the Indiana Jones games. Yeah. This is pretty awesome. And I'll be a little vulnerable here. When I was like five or six, man, we're going back.
Yeah, this way back. And I'd watch cartoons and door the explorer. And she would always be asking me like, can you find swiper or whatever? And then there'd be like a little mouse icon that would then click. Yeah. I was sitting there like, I'm like, where can I go online to click on that thing? You find swiper. You find swiper. Who is clicking that? And I really wanted to be a part of that and be in the story. And that sounds like being able to be Indiana Jones and help out there.
Nathan Drake, Indiana Jones, very similar people. Sounds like he's pretty cool. He's a pretty cool dude. It's one of my favorite video game characters. Like he's right right up there with no mad for me when like in terms of guys I like. I like it. Good luck, man. Good luck, man. Wrap it up with some questions though. You want to read the first one? Yeah. First questions coming from NM Gutz Frisbee, five star review.
Love the show and enjoy listening as I'm doing my work as an assistant principal. New to gaming just turn 40 but have been playing since the pandemic. Fortnite with my teenage daughter in Apex Legends. What about this BR game mode idea? 100 players in solos or 80 player duos or four squads dropped onto four different maps or battle and sues.
Top three players on teams from each map get combined into one team and face off against each other for the top players and teams on a new map for a final round. Could be a game like Apex. But to be considered a top team you do have to meet certain qualifications that would promote active playing and not camping. So some sort of kill requirement perhaps. That is very interesting. It's almost like a tournament structure but all within one game. Yeah, which is pretty cool. It seems competitive.
You know, we've seen a little bit of that with like the elite mode and being able to kind of stay in that top area but nothing as direct as this where kind of everybody's on board. It's kind of cool. That team coming together. That's what I was going to say. It's very cool. Yeah. Like you know your teammates are good because they just had success. I like it. I like it. Last question coming from Maroon Warrior. Five stars. Love in the new podcast.
I came from the third party and this one is just as good. My question is have you guys ever played Sea of Thieves? I've been having a lot of fun on it recently. Thanks so much for the review and the question. We have played a little bit of Sea of Thieves. My girlfriend is also played with us. It's actually a pretty cool game. I have a lot of fun playing Sea of Thieves.
Like it is just such a good time and it's always fun to hang out and play video games with your friends and just have a freaking blast of a time and just do whatever the heck you want and attack and fight. It's a good time. Yeah. Kind of on the outside it looks like a kids game but it is a lot more complex than you think. So, the same selves are really complex like they're fully destructible which is really interesting. Hatch them up and then the wind and the actual sailing mechanics.
I'd say are pretty accurate for a video game. For sure. Guys, thank you so much for listening. Subscribe to us on Apple Pods. Give us a follow on Spotify. Leave a five star review with your question.
