Welcome to another episode of Golden Nuggets Teen Tales Season 2 powered by Husby, served today by Denise Williams. Yes, welcome to the show. Thank you. And tell us about your most memorable closing and why was it so special? All of my Closings are special. I just want to say that for all my clients that are watching, I love you all. The most memorable though, would have to be a closing that I had in Atlanta. So let me just explain how Closings go back home.
And closing is basically a sale. A sale? Yes, in Dubai, we call it a handover date. Well, because Dubai is is different when it comes to celebrations and Closings. That doesn't really happen here, but how it happens in Atlanta, we close with a closing attorney. So you have a designated time to come and close on your property and that's typically going to be your whole room in your office. We bring gifts and we actually
have catered experiences. So these particular clients were purchasing a mansion in one of the prestigious areas in Atlanta called Eagle's Landing Multi $1,000,000 property that they were purchasing from me. The seller was actually a baseball player. I won't name him, but he was a famous baseball player. And then my clients are also high level entrepreneurs and in the entertainment industry as well. So the process to close this property was very smooth. We had a great time.
It was cool synergy. Everyone got what they wanted out of the deal. We get to the closing and we have this, you know, I pick my clients up in this Mercedes Sprinter. You know, I set the tone, had the flowers and the gifts in the car. We actually come to the closing more gifts. They didn't know that I was going to have a full spread of food and alcohol. So we can actually drink in our Closings as well. And so we're in there popping bottles, we're eating, they're signing papers.
Real celebration. Real celebration, you have a videographer that's there, so you're videoing the entire experience. So typically one closing will take about, if there's none of that going on, 45 minutes to an hour Max. We were in there for three hours, eating, drinking, talking, enjoying ourselves. So we had an evening closing and it started to get dark. And my clients, they're so hyped. They let her have a good time, so they didn't want to go home.
So I'm thinking, OK, I have reservations. We can go and have dinner. They're like, Nah, Nah, we want to do something else. I'm like, OK, what do you want to do? Let's go to the strip club. Oh. My God. Don't judge me for this guys, I just serve it in the process. Collected her. I collected her ones because. She brought her ones, OK. And it was a very, very nice Commission. So you got to do what your clients say we're going to do, right?
And so they said that and I was like, y'all serious? They're like, no, for real, we want to go. That was the most memorable time. We went there, had this private room. And what makes it even more special that the seller came to? Oh my God, so it's like 1 big. Technically you, you know, you break up and you go your own way, you get the keys and that's it. This seller came to and we had a ball. That is.
Hilarious. And just to give you a back story, I'm from Atlanta, you know, and so that's that's where, not technically where I'm from, but that's where I moved from. Yeah. That is the energy of. That's what we're known for. That's like one of our things. So it's a cultural thing, guys. You know, if you ever go to Atlanta and that's gonna be one of the places that, you know, many people visit. So, yeah, it was brilliant. The time was had.
And that was possible because everything went straightforward. Everything, yes. Everyone was, you know, did their part. Otherwise there's no way. No way. You know, I've been in Closings where it's like you can hear a pin drop or you can cut the tension with a knife because this seller felt like they didn't get what they wanted or they're getting less at closing than they expected or the buyer didn't get the furniture with the it's you know, it can go both ways.
So I'm always happy and excited when both people feel like it's a win win film. Yeah. And what I'll say for the Realtors out there, always create a win win environment and collaborate with your fellow agent. Like, stop making it a fight. It doesn't have to be a fight. Literally the best deals happen when everyone can get something out of the deal. So if you're only focused on what your side can get, then you're going to constantly have hard and tough transactions.
Empathy, a bit of empathy goes. Yes, like, you know, put yourself, I always put myself on the other side, even when I'm writing contracts and even when I'm dealing with a buyer who's being unreasonable. I, I will educate them on saying, let's put yourself on this side. If you were a seller and you received this contract, would you accept it? You know, sometimes you have to be tough on your clients as well versus always expecting the other side to bow down to the request that you have.
And so that's why I've been able to be successful because I'm able to see it from both perspectives. Yeah, and allow my clients to see it from both perspectives. And it helps that you've also invested in your own property. Exactly. 'Cause you've gone through the process and you're you think differently. As a result and ask them questions like, do you feel like this is really reasonable? You know you know you don't need to ask them Oh, is this realist No, just ask them.
Are you being? You don't tell someone like you're being unreasonable. Yeah, you can. Like do you think do? You think that this will help you to get what you want? You know help me to help you get what? You want me to understand understand your thought process. Yeah. Is there anything else that I can do that could help you feel better about this process? You're not good. At this. You want to buy property? No. Yeah. So that's, you know, empathy, like you said, that goes a long
way. Goes a long way. OK, well thank you for those golden Nuggets. Thank you. And watch the other Denise episodes. Yes, she drops them more golden than those. Thank you. You're welcome. Thanks for having me.
