342 - In-Studio with Natasha Helfer
Episode description
Natasha Helfer is a Certified Sex Therapist through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT); a Clinical Fellow through the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT); a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist; and was, until recently, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was excommunicated from the Mormon church after treating her patients using science and evidence-based therapies which often come into conflict with the religious teachings of her former faith.
Natasha's story received national attention and has been featured by dozens of media outlets.
In addition to all of her experience and bona fides, Natasha is also an absolutely fantastic conversationalist, so we were delighted that she was able to join us for a lengthy in-studio interview.
We had a minor technical issue that forced us to make some changes to our editing process and caused the delay in getting this out, so you may notice that the overall sound of the show is a bit different than usual. Thankfully, we were able to identify the issue so it shouldn't be a problem in the future.
