¶ Reviving Behaviors in the Gospel
Hello everybody , welcome , welcome , welcome , dodge diamonds in the rough . Amen We are back one more time , amen .
We're gonna know who we are .
I am Catherine .
And I am Michael .
Amen . We're so glad to be with you one more time . Hallelujah Daygiven not promised . Hallelujah Amen . You wanna go ahead and pray ?
Let us pray . Dearly Father , our Lord and our Savior , we will just come to you once again and say thank you . We thank you for your grace and your mercy . We thank you for your loving kindness and your mercy .
We beg you for getting something that everybody said done with thought that's not pleasing your sight , that your grace should forgive us and cast us back into the picture of where it came from . We pray in the name of Jesus . We get into your word that not only do we receive something from it , your people receive something from it as well .
We pray in the name of Jesus that , as we get into your word , that we just open our minds and our hearts to really understand what you are really trying to tell us . Yes , god , but we pray in the name of Jesus that as we get into your word and your people are in your word , they follow along with us in their word , in their Bible .
But we could be telling them anything , but it's up to them to receive it . Yes , god , it's up to you to give it . We pray in the name of Jesus , counseling any assignment of the enemy and sending it back into the picture of where it came from . These things and all things We ask , all in Jesus' mighty and powerful name . We do pray , we say thank you .
Amen , amen , hallelujah . We hope all is well and we hope that you know . Things have been good for you . Things are going well for us . Amen , honey , how are you ? I'm good .
I'm good , i'm just glad to be , as I always say , in the word again , because we all need to be refilled , so to speak , recharged . Yeah , i like that word And that comes from God , that comes from his word , that comes from the revelation that he gives us .
You know , that's why I say in my prayer you know , it's up to us to receive what God gives us and it's up to him to give it to us .
Amen , i like . I like when you say recharge That's what I was going to say was recharge I don't mean because when you recharge you just kind of giving it a recharge , you know , in all like a boot , a boot of refreshing . We do that without computers , you know we can be on the website or whatever happens .
It seems like going slow or whatever having , and then we hit refresh , refresh , it just starts that website over . Especially it's moving slow . You know what I mean And that's what we need sometimes . We need a refreshing , we need a recharge , because you know , this journey ain't easy .
And you know something , something I always said before . You know and I just got a clear revelation of it . You know , and it's been said .
You know we can go to the word and we receive this just one day and we might go to that very same scripture the next day or months and years down the line , down the line , down the road , And it's more like a software update .
Absolutely . I like it . Yeah , amen . So you know , just being encouraged , diamonds , i'll be encouraged that . You know we all need a fresh start , no matter how young or old we are in the gospel , we all need a recharge , we all need a refreshing Amen , we all need it Absolutely .
And so we pick up where we left off , and not really picking up , but carrying wolf . We are in this whole entire season talking about revival , amen , And what it is that the areas in our lives that God is reviving , amen . And you know we started with talking about the mind Amen . Well , first it was heart , then it was the mind Amen .
How he used the life of Paul to how he used , in our segment , his transition . That definitely was attached to mindset in your heart , amen . Did you want to say anything in regard to that ? before we go any further , any deeper ?
No , okay , so the last episode was about attention and focus , spiritual renewal That was the title of the last episode And so today we want to focus more about behavior , really just starting our conversation about behavior and the fact that once our Hearts are focused on Jesus and our minds is set Towards him , then it's some things within us that should be
changing . Amen . And You know , just kind of looking at James , james , i was drawn to James in this regard of One of the first things that ought to be changing Once our minds are set . A man , because he says in verse 6 , chapter 1 James , chapter 1 , verse 6 says but let a man ask in faith Nothing wavering , amen , it's just nothing wavering .
Look when we're , when we've set our mind , nothing is wavering , no more . It is set . You decided amen . And so , once we have been set and decided , he says for he , that waver is like a wave of the sea , driven With the wind and toss . He says for that , not that man think he shall receive anything of the Lord , amen .
This is the reason why you set your mind , because Until then you back and forth and it's like you know , some , some folks are up and down , up and down , up and down all the time . How can he direct your steps if you're all over the place ? You know what I mean . Mm-hmm , amen . You have any thoughts ?
for Okay , you're gonna let me do make all the work I'm not , i'm not , yeah , yeah , yeah , thank you . Yeah , if you can't see us because some people can see us right now but you can't see them just Hit them in the shoulder , you know ? gotta wake him up , gotta recharge , refresh this one over here , hey man , hallelujah , but What was I saying ?
so I was reading . I just finished verse 7 and then I want to read this too , because this is attached to the same thought . Verse 15 And what leads up to verse 15 is about temptation and how . How God does not tempt . I'm a read 13 , actually I'll read 12 . This is blessed is the man that endure temptation , for when he is tried He shall receive .
See , this is about behavior . He says the crown of life which the Lord hath promised to them that love him . That no man say , when he is tempted , i am tempted of God , for God cannot be tempted with evil , neither tempted He any man , but every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed . A man this again attached to mindset .
A man , if your mind is set , then you can't be drawn away By lust . A man And you know , this is just an aha moment for myself , because I never looked at this text like this . He says We are tempted by what we already are thinking about doing anyhow . Amen . It's not Satan tempting us , it's our own less lust Tempting us .
And as long as your mind is not set on Jesus , then The things of the world , you're gonna be drawn to it and you're gonna be tempted by it . Jesus , come on somebody , he says , and enticed , he says then , when lust have conceived It's like getting pregnant . What's that ? lust has been pregnant , impregnated , he says it bring it for sins .
Then in his birth , he says and seeing when it is finished , bring it for death . Amen , because seeing , the purpose of sin is death . Okay , so let's say it again . He says You're are , you are in your , with an unset mind , you're tempted . We're still talking about behaviors . We are tempted , and We're tempted Because of our own lust , amen .
And then he says Because we are tempted by our lust , our lust is then fed or impregnated , and once that loss has been Fade , it brings sin to life .
And When sin is brought to life , it births , births , death , because the purpose of death is I mean , the purpose of sin is to bring you to death , just like the baby life of a baby Baby is born and its purpose is brought out after it's born . Any thoughts ?
you know , and when you mentioned that you know , it puts me in the mind that's Christian Romans . Wow says the wages of sin is death , but the gift of God is eternal life . And you look at the word wages , this is the cost of sin . It's death . But he said the gift and the gift is free . He said they , but the gift of God is eternal life .
So we had that behavior , mindset or that changes . Look , i'm no more gonna focus on Where I could wind up being death , but I'm gonna focus more on about the eternal life And the eternal life . We got to remember that . He's not saying that the eternal life is gonna be here on earth . He's talking about the eternal life in heaven .
Man . This is because he says he said do not air , no , do not air my beloved brother . So for All of this to be written is really saying that we have control . We have a level of control in regard to How things come at us in the earth .
If we are focused , if we have our attention and focus is on Jesus , then The lust of our flesh won't be entertained . Because I think we just recently read it I did matter if I did , and um , i think it was first John , chapter one . He talks about being the things that we the lust of the eyes , the Lust of the flesh and the pride of life .
Those are the three that , if entertained , we will become or move in our flesh and be entertained by the world . Amen , we must be mindful of that . Look , and you know , that's really speaking to the believer , because Often time has believers . We think that we're bulletproof . You know what I mean .
We think that , oh , i'm saved , so I , you know , sin ain't gonna touch me . But the devil is a lot . Matter of fact , we become more vulnerable to attack because Satan is intentional about trying to find where you are the most Weakest at . We all have weak places in our lives .
None of us are Strong in every area of our life , and so the you become a target When you get saved . A target is being put on your back . The enemy is coming after you and he's going to do whatever he can to get you to pay attention To your flesh .
Mm-hmm .
Jesus come on somebody .
Jesus come on you know , that's , that's the essence of description . That says that the enemy comes to kill , still and destroy . He didn't say he's just gonna destroy and he didn't . He didn't say exactly what he's gonna destroy . He's gonna destroy anything , because I destroy .
He could say , okay , i'm gonna destroy your , your livelihood , or I'm gonna destroy your marriage or your relationship . No , he said I'm gonna destroy . That means anything that has anything to do with God . I'm gonna try to destroy it .
And you know , god , god see , this is this is what I like about God He , he gives us warnings and and Bring us to our tensions numerous things about how our behavior needs to change .
And there's one scripture I like and I hope I'm not stepping too far into this , this episode , but the description in things in first Corinthians , and It's one of my favorite scriptures . He says When I was a child , i spank as a child or understood as a child , i thought as a child , but when I became a man , i put a wild child of things .
The child is bad is a child's behavior , you know , you think , you think that , in essence , to a kid growing up , they only gonna do , they only gonna do What they do . That's how you got to teach a child in the way they should go when they get old Asian part . See you got , we got ahead of mindset of , hey , i'm gonna stop doing that childish thing .
I'm gonna change my behavior , because the more you get into the word of God , he's going to take your , your , your behavior and form it into the way that he wants to be .
You can't come in contact with God and not change your behavior and in that is where focusing on Jesus changes your behavior because The things that we try to change in our flesh , because our flesh is Move , it's , our flesh is moved by The waves of the water .
¶ Set Your Mind on Jesus
I flesh , just you know . Our flesh is moved by feeling . If it don't feel good , then we stop . You know , if it's causing , if it's causing Somebody to walk away from something that's supposed to die , then we'll do whatever we can to salvage What is already dead . Do you understand what I'm saying ?
If we're trying to do it in our flesh , you , it ain't gonna last a man . That's why it's important for your mind to be set on Jesus , amen . That's the only way that it's gonna work . Diamonds , do you hear me ? This is the only way it's gonna work is if your faith , as James has said it to us , if our faith is in him . Hallelujah .
When we put faith in ourself , then we're dependent on ourself to do what we're supposed to do . Remember that the enemy is going to come after your weaknesses . If you struggle with insecurity , he's gonna do everything that he can to make you insecure . He , if you struggle with an addiction , he's gonna do everything to draw you to the addiction .
Amen , this is what he said the lust of the flesh . He says when we are tempted by our own , we're tempted by our own lust . The enemy knows what your lust is , and If he doesn't know , he goes and he pricks and he pokes . See , where can I get a rise out of her , where can I get a rise out of him ? Oh , they , oh , okay .
So they ain't trusting their husband . Wait a minute , okay . So I'm gonna give you all , i'm gonna give you all kinds of signs that will make you question his faithfulness . So , so and so .
Then what happens is is , when you begin to question his faithfulness , he thinks oh well , she don't trust me anyway , i can just go on , i ain't do what I need to do mm-hmm . Does that make sense ? Perfect sense you know what I mean .
So and you know , just to add to that and in And speaking about that about , about tempted in the flesh , i like how God puts it right here in verse 15 and 13 Let no man say that he is tempted or I am tempted of God . But God cannot be tempted with evil , neither tempted he any man . See , we understand that That God gives us free choice .
That's why he says I'm that , he's , he's does not tempt any man . No , is he tempted ? because God does not bribe you or bribe be , or I be , e To make you do something that you really don't want to do . He gives us free choice . Mm-hmm , absolutely .
And and one thing that I really , i really , i would say definitely Dislike When , when we go through things in life , the first thing we want to say is the enemy made me do it . Stop saying that The enemy cannot make you do anything and God cannot make you do anything that you really don't want to do .
If you don't want to do this , the enemy cannot make you do it . It's in your mind , it's in your behavior , it's in your mindset of how you're going to live your life .
That's right .
And so , as we get ready to wrap up y'all for today , as we are Opening up the door to our behaviors , kind of wrapped up in regard to scripture with verse 17 , says every good gift and every perfect gift is from above , he says , and coming down from the father of lights , with whom is no variableness , neither shadow of turning , he says of his own will
began he us with the word of truth that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures , amen . So when you wrap it up here , he simply says to us look , he does not tempt us . What he gives us is good , number one , that is good , and it is a gift , amen . A gift is something that you choose to give .
Amen , this is a gift , is a blessing , is something more than what you had . Amen , and it's up to you to receive it as that . He does not tempt us of his own will . He said his will is to give us truth , amen . And he said . He said , look , james , he said it with whom is no variable , meaning , there's no question of his intentions , hallelujah .
He says neither a shadow of tiny , meaning that , look , he doesn't change based on the weather . He's always the same , hallelujah . So who he said he is and who you believe him to be , from the beginning of your transition or your transformation , he's always been that Amen . You are being fired , you're being tried and tested .
This is what we all have to realize is that those he loves , he chastens . He prunes us . He gets rid of the dead things . He gets other things . That gets rid of the things . That is not helping us . He flips our life upside down . So he makes us deal with the root of our fruit . Y'all never heard me say it before . Come on .
He makes us deal with the things that we don't want to deal with . He makes us deal with the things that we want to keep hitting . Hallelujah . He makes us deal with those things , and so many times we blame it on the devil . We say , oh well , he tempted me and this than he ever know . Hallelujah .
God wants to make you like him , hallelujah , and in order for you to become like him , in order for you to really receive the new creature that he's made you through the death and resurrection of Jesus , you got to deal with it , hallelujah . You got to be willing and obedient to do what he's asked you and what he's calling you to do Hallelujah .
So if you haven't set your mind , set it . Hallelujah In setting your mind . Setting your mind just simply says I set my eyes and my heart on Jesus . Come on somebody , welcome to behaviors . Hallelujah , hey man , that's my final word . Amen , before prayer . Honey , what's your final word ?
My final word is look , we got to understand that seasons might change , but God don't . His scripture said that he's the same God , today , tomorrow and yesterday , and forever . That's why he formed you out of the dirt in the form of the image and likeness after him .
His desire is for us to be like him , never changing for the bad , always changing for the good . Hallelujah , that's my final word .

¶ Prayer for Spiritual Growth
is . Let's pray . Father , we thank you so much for your word on today , god , we bless every hero that has been drawn into this place . God , i pray , lord , that you would just continue to do our work and all of us continue to shape us , make us and mold us into the diamonds you have desire for us to be .
Father , we pray the blessing of the Lord be upon all of your children . God , we pray , lord , for those who have not set their minds on Jesus , that you would draw them into that place , that place of surrender , the place of a decision that is decided for you . Father , we bless your name and we thank you . We pray this prayer in the mighty name of Jesus .
