João Maria Lobo Alves Palhinha Gonçalves is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for Premier League club Fulham and the Portugal national team as a defensive midfielder. He came through at Sporting CP, first appearing with the first team in 2017 and also having loans at Moreirense, Belenenses and Braga.
The Portugal national football team has represented Portugal in international men's football competition since 1921. The national team is controlled by the Portuguese Football Federation, the governing body for football in Portugal.
