Episode description

Featured Guest:  Sara Im - How I Survived the Killing Fields

AWARD-WINNING AUTHOR & SPEAKER
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As a survivor of the “Killing Fields in Cambodia,” during the oppressive Khmer Rouge regime in the 1970s, Sara speaks to inspire, motivate and encourage others to have hope, more courage, and a positive perspective in life. She understands that many people struggle (silently) with emotional and physical pain, due to high stress, and health and personal issues that prevent them from fully enjoying life. By sharing her experience of survival in a Cambodian forced labor camp, she hopes to create a more positive perspective for her audience. She feels that because she survived, it's part of her duty to help others go beyond survival and live a life of harmonious unity in body, mind, and spirit.

My mission is to inspire, motivate and encourage people to have hope, resilience, and a positive perspective in their life. - Sara Im

How I Survived the Killing Fields - A Story of Hope, Love, and Determination

It’s an inspirational book as the author shares her compelling true story which follows her tranquil journey as a young girl that grew up in Cambodia. The journey of her young age through her early college years, until that fateful day when she was pushed, as with others into hiding and eventually caught in a horrific and tragic event called: the Killing Fields. Over two million people perished during these four years of tyranny. She walks you through the darkest days of her life until she came out to the light again. Once you read her book, your perspective on life will be positively changed.
