You're not going to bring forth fruit when you're dealing with the cares of this life or the deceitfulness of riches or lusts of other things entering in. It chokes the word. Pleasures of this life. These things can distract us from the heavenly pattern. And we want to pattern our life to live in his glory. His glory is in his presence. God promises in Joel 2 .28 to pour out His Spirit on all humanity.
Welcome to Global Outpouring, where we contend for that promise outpouring, we equip for that outpouring, so that we may engage in that very outpouring. I'm Philip Buss. And I'm Sharon Buss. Welcome to the podcast today. We're so excited to bring this episode to you today. Philip had an encounter with the Lord recently in his devotional time, and we're going to talk about Pattern Your Life to Live in the Glory. Thank you so much
for joining us today. We really appreciate you tuning in and we want to make sure that if you haven't already done so, that you go to our website, globaloutpouring .net and click on the subscribe button to make sure that you're on our email lists so that we can stay in touch with you and just... keep you up to date with what we're doing these days. And one of the things we're doing these days is our convention 2025 coming right
up. And I've been talking about this for weeks and weeks on this podcast and telling you all about who's ministering. But I really want to emphasize the fact that the most important person who's going to be there is the presence of the Lord. We know that when we assemble that he shows up. because we're coming with a heart of humility. We're coming with a heart to seek his face. We're
coming with a heart to worship him. We're coming with a heart to be open to what he has for us and get new marching orders, fresh marching orders. engage with him in what he wants to do in the earth. We want it to be on earth as it is in heaven. So we're dedicating our hearts to bring new, fresh things from the heavenlies into the earth while we're in worship, while we're in intercession, while we're in study of the word and revelation that has come to the speakers.
We're just ready to just soak in his presence and get renewed and get freshened up in what he has for us. So I really encourage you to come, bring the children, bring the teens. We have something special for each of them. We even have a nursery. And so we're looking for the people that God is tugging. Is he tugging at your heart to come? It's at the St. Louis Airport Marriott, and it's May 21st through 25th. We really encourage you to come if you possibly can and participate
in this and draw from this deep well. There's a deep well of... history and anointing and things that we haven't even experienced on the earth yet. And we're going to talk about some of that kind of thing today on this podcast. So, Philip, tell us what happened with you a few days ago that gave you this idea for this podcast. I was just in my morning prayer time before the Lord, and I just heard, do everything according to
the pattern. Yeah. I don't... precisely remember what all I was just praying, but that just ran across and immediately I knew where it was because that's when Moses was on the mount in the presence of God. Yeah, Mount Sinai. Mount Sinai. The Lord gave him the pattern for the tabernacle. Yes. And it had it from the terms that most believers are familiar with, like the Ark of the Covenant and, you know, the altar of incense. Yeah. And all the furniture. So that was all given to Moses
and the mount. And I think God caught him away into heaven and showed him the heavenly tabernacle. Because it's in the book of Revelation where it talks about those things, like the seven spirits of God there in flames. So then the Lord showed him, now here's how you do it on earth. And there's also in Revelation, it says, and the temple of God was opened. See, there is a real temple. Everything on the earth is a shadow. It's a model of what is to come on earth as it is in heaven.
Yes, exactly. So Moses is getting this pattern. And it's not like it's a pattern of this was what they followed all through the Old Testament. Yeah. But many of the... things they have today, it's like a lot of the rabbis, they don't follow everything. They follow more the oral traditions of things. And that's where things can get complicated. And it just kind of loses things too. Yeah. They've added to it because, and that oral tradition,
I just have to make a point here. It says in the scripture, and Moses wrote everything that God said. So if there's an oral tradition, then who said it? Because Moses wrote down everything that God said. Yeah, that's very good. And which we do too, many times when the Lord speaks to us. Oh yeah, write it down. Write it down, especially in the night seasons and that. Because if you don't write it down, your devotion time, you'll lose it. It's true. Unless you've got a photographic
memory. Of course, you're not seeing a photo if you have a brain memory. Whatever kind of memory. You're blessed to have that. That's great. So then what happened? Well, so when I did get up, and I've been reading this year, it's a devotional Sister Gwen's, and she has written many devotionals. Oh, yeah. Started out as she was looking for something for a trip to Israel. Yeah, a devotional for travelers. And she couldn't find one, so she wrote one. Yes. It was amazing. Absolutely.
And then she just kept writing, and that turned into Daily Preparations for Perfection. That's the name of the book. That's the name of the book. And it's not in any particular book. It takes different scriptures and one for every day. And she went from there to Day by Day, which was on the Psalms. Yep. And that's a remarkable one on the Psalms. Absolutely. It's like sitting at the feet of Jesus, every one of these books.
And we would send those to prisons. We would get requests from prisoners, you know, can you please send this to us? Yeah. And it has just touched so many lives. It's true. And then her next, what was her next one she wrote? I think the next one might have been In the Beginning. In the Beginning. Yeah, that's just on the book of Genesis. And that's a whole. Oh, it's amazing. That's a Bible study in itself. It's remarkable. Yeah. And these devotionals are not. normal devotionals.
These are deep for deep study in the Word. And then she has one just on the Proverbs. Yes, Gems of Wisdom. Gems of Wisdom. And then she has one... He sent me back to tell you. That was her last one. Yeah. That's a big one. After she was at the gates of heaven hoping to go in, and we prayed her back. She wasn't very happy. She says, don't ever do that again. Isn't that what Polly said to Smith Wigglesworth? What did you do that for? What did you do that for? Because she died, and
he commanded life to come into her body. And she had some conversation with him that says, you've got to let me go. And he let her go. She went back to heaven. Went back to heaven. Authority of the believer. Yep, yep. Call your spouse back. But my favorite one is when we had the fire. Tell about the fire. It was in 1990. The fire was 1990, but we had this fire. It was like 1 o 'clock in the morning, and it took everything.
Yeah, took our offices. Somebody broke, one of our staff broke into the accounting office and got all of the mailing list, files of the mailing list. Yeah, the mailing list and the accounting records. So everything burnt, the print shop burnt. Everything was in one, all our eggs were in one basket. Yeah, our bookstore, our school of ministry, our baby. All the manuscripts, originals. all the original stuff of Sister Gwen, 40 years of ministry went up in one night. I think it
was 50. It was 50. Yeah, it was 50. Yeah, actually it was 50. And Sister Gwen was planning a sabbatical, and she took one. After the fire, she closed the Bible school down, didn't travel, just as it was a sabbatical unto the Lord. I think she went to Israel. Yeah, he gave her permission to do that. To do that. After a time of grieving, the Lord gave her this book, spoke to her and says, pick up your pen. I want to teach you out
of the red letters of the Gospels. Yeah. And so the title of this devotional is From the Heart of Jesus. And it's not one that has a date for every day because it goes beyond 365 days. But it's the story of Jesus, you know, how he spoke to her in the first person. Yeah, his life on earth, even when he was a 12 -year -old in the temple. Yeah, it's like background. It's a background is what it is. It's like Paul Harvey's the rest
of the story. Yes, exactly. And I'll tell you right now, there is not another devotional like this that I have ever seen. Yeah. And it is so powerful because it's the rest of the story of things. And it includes in their traditions things we don't understand that aren't in our New Testament. Or in our culture. Or in our culture. Because a lot of the New Testament deals with the culture of the day. Things we don't understand. And why did he say it? And we try to make something out
of this or that. It's my favorite one. And so I was reading in it that same morning, and the title of this devotion was called, Things to Know If You Are Called of God. We have a calling. Make your calling and your election sure. And many seek to find it in many different ways, but the key to finding it is the presence. Amen. Getting in the presence of God. And even in our world conventions that we have, we don't call them world convention anymore, We just call them
conventions because we've got global in it. And we have these flags. We have over 160 or 170 flags, if we have room, of all the nations that this ministry has operated in. We have somebody there with feet on the ground doing the work of the kingdom. So we just don't put a flag up because we want to. It's because we've had somebody there ministering in that nation from our organization. And that's big when you think about that. I thought, wow. And even this podcast has gone out to a
hundred and... At least 189. 189 nations, you know. Yeah. That's just somebody there, even in the Muslim nations, Arab nations, somebody has clicked. And the islands of the sea. And the islands of the sea. You know, of course, the U .S., Canada, Australia, with a lot of people in Australia. Yes. And we don't hear from them, but they listen. So this is... So things to know if you are called by God. And I want to read this segment that she has. This will give you
an understanding. This is the Holy Spirit talking through Sister Gwen, you know, Jesus speaking to her. It says, I went up into the mountains alone to pray. A number of men had been following me. I had to know the Father's will. It was important that I only ordained those whom he had prepared to serve with me. I also knew that among those whom I would ordain one, one must be different
from all the others. He would be evil in his heart and would eventually betray my whereabouts to my enemies so that I would be arrested and crucified. Sometimes you too must permit a Judas to be included in the group who will work with you in the ministry. Do not always try to get rid of Judases. They are there for your perfecting. And also to test and try those who work with you to see if they will remain loyal to you under
testing and temptation. Wow. Yeah, wow. You will be surprised how many of those who you trusted will follow the Judas goat and be led astray. And I'm adding this. You may have heard what the Judas goat, you know, you may not know what that does. There's a footnote there, isn't it? Yeah, there's a footnote here. A male goat that is kept for the purpose of leading the other sheep and goats to their slaughter. Yeah. Oh, wow. Mm -hmm. Yet these things are necessary.
Did I not say, I have chosen you and one of you is a devil? That's in John 6, 70. And it is needful that offenses come, but woe to that man by whom the offense cometh. And you'll find that scripture in Matthew 18, 7. After I had chosen 12 men, I ordained them to go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. It is important that you know who should be your co -workers and where you should go. Always wait until you get your orders from me. Never make decisions in your own understanding.
I commissioned them to preach the gospel, heal the sick, cleanse the leper, raise the dead, and cast out devils. That's Matthew chapter 10, verses 7 and 8. There are 10 important points to remember when you are called. One. And so this is the pattern. This is the pattern. And this is spontaneous writing. Yeah. When Sister Gwen writes, this is spontaneous. She gets it from the Holy Spirit. Number one, wait for me
to send you. That's important. Especially in organizations, you know, if you have opportunities or things, you only want to go where God wants you to go because you don't want to go somewhere that is not his will. Exactly. And that's why you have to spend time with him. Lord, where do you want me to go? You know, the way he opens the door and makes things happen. Two, go only to the places I approve. Yeah. Number three, do only the works I have commissioned you to
do. If you do any more than that, you will break under the burden. Don't we know that one? That's true. We totally understand that. Go where you're commissioned. The expression, just don't go with any Tom, Dick, and Harry. When's the last time you heard that expression? That's an expression. That's an old one. That means just don't go with anybody. Get your orders from the Holy Spirit. Number four, remember it will not be easy. You will be hated even as I was. You will be persecuted
by men. But trust me to be with you and help you to give the right answers to your inquisitors when that happens. And Sister Gwen has taken some amazing groups. I remember one group, you were on it, I wasn't, but they were in Haiti. And just as they're leaving, they're having a military coup. Actually, I wasn't on that one. You weren't on that one. No. So you never know
what's going to happen. And it was on a tour somewhere, you were on that one, where they were waiting for the bus and someone died right on the spot. I wasn't on that one either. You weren't either. No. But Sister Gwen said, nobody's going to die on my tours and just called life back. That's true. And this lady was... She was seeing the lights and all that, and then all of a sudden she heard Sister Gwen calling her back. Nobody's going to die on my tours. We have exciting tours
when we took them. Yeah, she said the Lord gave her the scripture. I think it's in the Book of Acts that I give you all that are journeying with you. All that are journeying with you. Yeah, that's good. And we say, remember, it will not be easy. A lot of tours we've been on have not been easy. Oh, yeah. You get off the plane in Tibet, you're at 11 ,500 feet, and we went up to 17 ,800 feet. We only have half your oxygen. Yeah. And places you go, you've got the communist
government looking for people like you. Right. But if you're where God told you to go, the Holy Spirit hides you. It's true. And we've had those experiences. And even our brother Bob Baldwin tells of his experience. They were in China. And it was the Lord spoke to him to pray for this person. This was not a believer. They had an ailment. She had a bad pain in her stomach. He prayed for her in the name of Jesus. Remember, these are Buddhists or they're communists. And
the person got healed. And all of a sudden, here's a line. of people for him to pray for, spontaneous. So he's praying for them, and all of a sudden they grab him and say, we've got to go out there because someone called the police. And the police are coming in the front door, and they pull him out the back door, and they had to go and hide somewhere. You know, wow, want to go on a tour with us? But this is when God commissions you to go, he will protect you and make a way of
escape. Right, but it won't be easy. But it won't be easy, and if you do get caught, there's a reason for that too. Wow. Okay. So, number five, trust me to supply all your needs. Absolutely. You know, God is so good at that. And one time Sister Gwen in her early years went to Indonesia and the Lord spoke to her. You won't have to bring any money. Yeah. She did bring some because you have to. How much money do you have? She changed like $20 or something. And the Lord said,
you won't need that. You won't need that. Yeah. And sometimes they ask, how much money do you have with you? Because if you don't have money, they may not let you in. That's true. And so. She used just some of that money to buy stamps. And then later somebody gave her some stamps. She didn't even need to use it. It was like $3 or something. The stamps were cheap back then. But she had money because it was kind of a requirement. But God provided all her needs, all her food,
her hotel. Everything was taken care of. Because even a lot of times we travel, we bring money and we give in the offerings because a lot of the people don't have anything. And number six is trust me to protect you. Never be afraid of your enemies. That's in Matthew chapter 10, verse 28. And there's times Sister Gwen has been on trips where, you know, you could hear the gunfire. That was in Pakistan years back. You could hear, you know, gunfire and things going on. And we've
been in that. And I remember once we were in a bus going to Israel, we were in a tour that is not for normal tourists. It was for passengers. We do unusual things. And we were going to an area where you had to have an armored bus, which we had. Or no, maybe we didn't have. No, this one wasn't an armored bus. Yeah. And all of a sudden, here comes a Molotov cocktail. I watch it. Come over the front, it hits the front of the bus and the side, but it didn't do any damage.
Thanks be to God. Thanks be to God. So we always pray every morning we get on the bus for God to protect us, and he's so good on that. And number seven was love everyone but trust only a few. Yeah, that's good. I think one time Sister Gwen was in Russia, and she heard the word fox or something like that, the Holy Spirit. That's a fox. And when they're being introduced to some people, didn't someone mention it was by the Spirit or something? They call him the fox or
something. So she knew immediately the word that the Lord gave her, you don't trust him. And so God is so good at that to do things like that. Wow. Number eight was be willing to lay down your life. I remember on our trip to Tibet, we had everybody sign a waiver. We're not responsible if you don't come back. You know, that's a scary thing when you're on a tour. That means the ministry is not responsible to get you out of jail. We even made like next of kin sign that they were
in agreement. Yeah, that was Tibet. That was because that's a unique place to go. Difficult place. Yeah. And number nine was you shall be rewarded for your faithfulness. And when you do things in the will of God, you will be rewarded. God is so good at doing that. It may not be in a financial way or something, but he has other ways of blessing you because of your faithfulness. And number 10 was, I'm coming soon and my reward
for your faithfulness is with me. Amen. And that's what we want to be because when we strive to get close to him, we strive to enter his rest. It's to be close to him. Yes. And he is so faithful, even in the little things. Absolutely. Especially in the little things. You get those kisses from the Lord when you realize he's the only one who knew I wanted that. Why don't you share that cookie one, the Oreo? Oh, yeah. One of our ladies had this experience with the Lord where she was
watching. She just had the TV on. She was probably not even paying much attention to it. And she heard an advertisement for Oreo cookies. And the thing that was said about it was, Oreo cookies, the cookie that loves milk. You know, because you want to dip your cookie in milk, right? Or coffee. But she said, it's not the cookie that loves milk. It's the cookie that loves coffee.
coffee and she only wants coffee when she has a sweet she doesn't drink coffee without a sweet and she doesn't eat a sweet without coffee that's just how her taste works you know so sometime not very long after that she was in a restaurant and she had just finished her dessert and coffee And the waiter came around and said, would you like some more coffee? She said, oh, no, thank you. I only have coffee with my dessert or with something sweet. And I don't drink coffee unless
I have something sweet. He says, well, let me see what I can do about that. So he disappears and he comes back with a little plate that has three or four Oreo cookies on it. And he gave them to her and poured her some more coffee. And she heard the Lord say, I was listening.
Isn't that sweet? And what it turns out is, the backstory is that he went into the kitchen or wherever he had his backpack, and he got from his own supply of Oreo cookies to serve to her, which you wouldn't think that's even probably right to do in a restaurant. But God led him because he heard her little thought. that she spoke out into her place where she was living all by herself, and God was listening. It's a kiss from the Lord when those kind of things
happen. You just need to recognize those kisses. Yeah, that's just amazing. Isn't that sweet? Oh, that really is how God really just does things like that, just to let you know. Yeah, it's true. He likes our taste. It's true. So the important thing is that we do things according to the pattern. Now, that was a pattern that the Lord spoke to Sister Gwen in that devotional about, you know, here's a list of things that you need to know about being called by the Lord. Yeah. And so
we should take that into consideration. It comes from heaven. Remember how Jesus taught his disciples to pray. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. And that's what Moses was shown in the mountain in Mount Sinai when he was with the Lord for 40 days. And then he came down and broke the tablets and dealt with the calf and went back up for another 40 days. And I don't think he had a meal in the middle. He was fasting for 80 days, probably. Wow. You
know that's God. Yeah, you know that's God. But in his presence, when you have that kind of face -to -face encounter with the Almighty God, the Most High, I would think that you wouldn't have any interest in eating. No, the glory just overwhelms you. Yeah, it's about the glory. And the title of this episode, Pattern Your Life to Live in the Glory, was a line from a song that the Lord gave you. Yeah, that was from Hebrews chapter 8, talking about the minister, this is King James,
to the minister of the sanctuary. And that's our Lord Jesus. Yeah. That's in the sanctuary. Yeah. I mean, back when they had the Ark of the Covenant, the tabernacle, you had the altar of incense, and that's where the presence of God was. His presence was over the ark, had the two angels covering it. That was the presence of God on earth. Right. And that was in that. Yeah. So in Hebrews chapter 8, verse 5, it's referring to that same verse that Philip read earlier from
Exodus 25, 40. And it's quoting it, Hebrews 8, 5. It says, and it's talking about the priests. Every high priest, this is verse 3, every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, etc., etc. And then it says in verse 5, who serve the copy and the shadow, or the example and the shadow. That's in the King James says example, and the New King James says the copy. So what we have on earth is a copy of what's in heaven. Yeah. It reminds me of what we do in our spare
time, which is little. But over the years, we've managed to put together a train board. A model railroad. A model railroad. And you want things to look like the real thing. So you get this
plastic. model that's all bright and shiny and but you want it to look like the real thing there's not any bright shiny train cars out there only when they roll out of the factory yeah and and they don't stay that way for long so you dust them up and you make them look weathered and and you try to make it look authentic so it's the same idea only what's heavenly we don't want to dust up and make weathered and look bad but you know that we want to do on earth as it is
in heaven. Yeah. And, you know, a little side bunny from that bunny trail, you know, is where people might remember the Where's Waldo? Oh, yeah. It has this little guy with a cane and glasses. He has a striped red shirt and the book or wherever, they have this big crowd of people and you got to find Waldo in there. Where's Waldo? Yeah. Yeah. And so actually on the... On the train board. We do have a Waldo. He rides actually in the caboose at the moment. Yeah, at the moment.
And when Sharon painted him, this little tiny figurine had to use a paintbrush with about two hairs on it and a magnifying glass to get the detail. But it's all in the detail. Right. Because we want it to look authentic. And to look authentic. Yeah. And he does look authentic from a distance. It's pretty good. Pretty good. You couldn't buy one, so we had to make one. Yeah. We didn't want to pay the money for the buying one. It was too expensive. So back to the scripture. Yeah. End
of bunny trail. End of bunny trail. So talking about the priests who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things. As Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For he said, see that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain. So we want to. do things according to the pattern
of what's in heaven. And that's part of why I love the fact that God is so gracious to us, to have connected us with Dean Braxton, who had an hour and 45 minutes of earth time in heaven, which was... a huge experience in heaven. Huge, huge. And I was just rereading part of his book, Deep Worship in Heaven, and I highly recommend that you get that book. It is life -changing, absolutely life -changing, because he gives details of what it was like. to worship at the throne
in heaven. And as you understand how it is in heaven, you can begin to apply it from your own heart on earth and begin to worship him in spirit and in truth. Like Jesus said to the woman at the well, you know, the time is coming and now is that they that worship him will worship him in spirit and in truth. So when we're in that place on the earth where we're drawn into the spirit realm and drawn into his presence, presence, that's where we begin to give him something that
really just blesses him. He loves it. He loves it when we do on earth as it is in heaven. So you see this pattern in the mount, and in Numbers chapter 8 and verse 4, there's a similar scripture, and it says, and this work of the candlestick, which would be the menorah, was of beaten gold unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof was beaten work. According to the pattern which the Lord had showed Moses, so he made the candlestick. So it's so important that we do things according
to the pattern. And the candlestick is like a representative of the seven spirits of God. Right. Which Dean says are like pillars of fire. Wow. Yeah. Awesome. That was what he experienced. I just read it this morning. Oh, wow. That's good. Yeah. Isn't that amazing? That's like God's kiss timing for this. I love it. I love it. He gives us the pieces of the puzzle. So I was also moved by what the history says in 1 Chronicles 28, 11 and 12, where it talks about what... David
did. Because remember, David wanted to build a temple for God. And the prophet Nathan, I think it was, said, go to it. Go to it. The Lord bless you in your plans. Because it sounded good. It sounded great. But then the Lord spoke to him. And here's another thing where it's so easy for us to get into agreement with a good idea that might not be a God idea. God said, no. David
can't do that because he's a man of bloods. He has shed a lot of blood in all these wars, and he was doing the wars in agreement with God. He was following the leading of the Holy Spirit in all these wars that he participated in, all these battles. But because of that, it wasn't appropriate for him to build the house. But he prepared things for the house. God told him, your son Solomon is going to build it because
he's a man of peace. He's not a man of war. But David gathered up all kinds of things for the building of the house. He gathered up gold and silver and brass and fabrics and all these kinds of things. But he also sat before the Lord to get the pattern. And it says in 2 Chronicles 28, where it's talking about how David brought the leaders together and explained to them, what he had in his heart and how he was not allowed
to do it. And then he goes on to say in verses 11 and 12, and David gave his son Solomon the plans for the vestibule. Now, it says in the King James, David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch. So the pattern word is there, and it's just translated differently in the New King James. The plans for the vestibule, its houses, its treasuries, its upper chambers, its inner chambers, and the place of the mercy seat. And the plans for all that he had by the
Spirit. By the Spirit. of the courts of the house of the Lord, of all the chambers all around, of the treasuries of the house of God and of the treasuries for the dedicated things. And then it goes on in verse 18, where it's talking about all the gold and the silver and all these things. In verse 18 says, and refined gold by weight for the altar of incense. And for the construction of the chariot, that is the gold cherubim that spread their wings and overshadowed
the ark of the covenant of the Lord. All this, said David, the Lord made me understand in writing by his hand upon me. all the works of these plans. And again, in the King James where it says plans, in what I just read, it uses the word pattern. But this word for the construction of the chariot, that word is also pattern in the King James. And it means it's like an image, a likeness of a thing, a model or a structure. So you get this idea of it has the appearance of what he saw.
And that's the kind of thing that Dean talks about, Dean Braxton talks about, that you can't explain in human language what it looked like. And even if you look at Ezekiel and Isaiah and John the Revelator, when they had their experiences in heaven, they didn't have words to say what it was. They said it looked like. Looked like. It was like this. And that's what Dean struggles to get words to explain what he saw. And he'll say it was like something that we can relate
to. And that's what the pattern is. The pattern is something that's a likeness of the real thing, like our little model railroad things are a likeness of the real thing. You know, you get up. next to a locomotive and it's huge and it's dirty and it's, you know, it's greasy, but it's huge. So we try to make this little bitty version of it, you know, and make it look like the real
thing. It's like, it's like, so he's, he's looking for us to model his likeness in the earth because we were made in his likeness in the first place and we lost it. You know, Adam and Eve blew it. And they lost their likeness of the one who is light. He is light. But if we have Jesus on the inside of us, who is the light of the world, he said, I am the light of the world. And his father is the father of lights in whom there
is no darkness, neither shadow of turning. he's looking for us to allow that light to shine through us so if we've got him inside of us right we've we've invited him to come and live inside of us and we are also in him in him we live and move and have our being right so it's kind of like you could imagine it kind of like you've got a sphere that's inside of a sphere that's inside of a sphere So the inner sphere and the outer sphere are him. And then there's us in
the middle, the in -between part. And I really feel like what he's looking for is for us to cooperate with him in the process of transforming the fleshly nature, the soulish nature, into his nature. Because the light can't shine out of us. And connect with that outer light unless we're transparent. And so what the Holy Spirit is working in us day by day, it's not an instant thing. It won't happen overnight. But day by day, as we yield to his presence, as we yield
to the weight of his glory. We're allowing him to kind of push out the impurities and get those things out. And sometimes he puts us through the fire to burn up the dross, to burn up the stuff that doesn't belong there, the wood and the hay and the stubble that doesn't belong in heaven. It doesn't belong there. And when we become more and more transparent in our walking with him, where we instantly realize, oops. I made an exaggeration when I said that, and you
correct yourself. That's a thing where his truth is working in us. And we begin not only to tell the truth to other people, but we have to tell the truth to ourselves. It's critical. It's critical that we let that truth, like especially the truth of the things that he says about us. We, as humans, have a tendency to look at ourselves in the mirror. instead of looking at ourselves in the word. And what you see in the mirror isn't even really you. You have to be honest with yourself. Yeah,
you have to be honest with yourself. But what you see in the mirror is actually a mirror image of you. It's backwards. If you look at yourself in the mirror all the time and then you look at yourself in a photograph, if you part your hair on the side, It's going to be on the opposite side. So you're not really seeing a true picture of yourself in the mirror. But if you look into the word, he's talking about you for who he says you are. And he's the one that says something
and it happens. So our job is to get into agreement with him, to get into agreement and co... operate with him, co -labor with him. Yeah. You know, you see these bumper stickers now and this is coexist. Oh yeah. You know, it shows all the signs of all the different religions. Yeah. But there is no way that they can coexist because light cannot fellowship with darkness. Yeah. And that's how, you know, we coexist with Jesus. Right. You know, because light has no place for
darkness. So if you're living in any kind of darkness, it's going to hamper getting more light into you. Yeah, it's true. Now, on the other hand, you do need to love them. Yeah. And that's where you can coexist in that way. You can be pouring light into them and pouring light on them. But I see your point. I totally see your
point. You know, as I was meditating on... this principle of living in the pattern that was shown in the mountain and patterning your life to live in the glory, because that's what the glory is. The glory is the heavenly way of doing things, God's way, doing things God's way. And that reminds me of the webinar that we just had recently with Timothy Bentz. We had him on the podcast some weeks ago, several weeks ago. And then we spent the night at his house. on our journeys quite
a few weeks ago. And he began telling us things about spiritual warfare that he had learned because Jesus has been mentoring him since he was two years old. And so he has learned a lot about spiritual warfare and the importance of coming into rest and coming into the presence of God and humbling ourselves in the sight of the Lord and submitting to God before we try to rebuke the devil. Because the devil won't flee from us unless we are submitted to God. You know,
that's just how it works. So anyway, he rolled out some amazing things, and I really want to encourage you to go to our YouTube channel. And watch that webinar. There's four sessions. And it's very, very, very powerful. I found it life -changing. And if you are a Christian, you probably need to listen to that. And especially if you pray, if you engage at all in spiritual warfare, which who doesn't if you're a believer? There's warfare going on all the time. You need that
message. It will be life -changing. But I said all that because I was talking about... how we deal with the opposition that comes to us and how sometimes it's difficult because we're looking at a mirror image of ourselves and we're looking at the world around us and the circumstances around us. And if you watch the news or listen to the news, I mean, it's just, it would be discouraging
if you do that. I just, I don't even do it. Yeah, I look at headlines occasionally, but I'm looking at even those less and less because I want to know what's going on in heaven and practice it on earth, and that will affect what's going on on earth. And I believe the Lord is looking for a people who are willing to shut off the earth, the earthly things, in the right amount, in the right time, in the right way, in order to connect.
with our Father in heaven. And what I've been experiencing lately, you know, we've got convention coming up. And there's so many things to do before convention. And they're all in my head, because I've been doing this all these years. And we want to do this, and we need to do that, and we need to do that, and that, and that, and that. And, you know, I want to make sure all these things get done. And I find that I get... into a little bit of stress or maybe a lot of stress.
And I know that's not the place to be. The place to be is in his rest. And I was reminded of Mark 4 .19 that talks about, you know, the parable of the sower, which is really more about the soil that the seed fell on, but the seed that fell on ground that had thorns. And it says, the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches and the lust of other things entering in choke the word and it becomes unfruitful.
And the same story in Luke 8, 14 says it this way, and that which fell among the thorns are they which when they have heard go forth and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life and bring no fruit to perfection. You know, it's like the fruit falls off the tree while it's still green. Yeah. It doesn't ever
get there. And I'm just being transparent myself here that sometimes life is happening all around me and I get kind of moved by the stuff that's going on around me instead of remaining in that place of rest where that's where you're going to bring forth fruit. You're not going to bring forth fruit when you're dealing with the cares of this life. Or the deceitfulness of riches. Or lusts of other things entering in. It chokes the word. Pleasures of this life. These things
can distract us from the heavenly pattern. And we want to pattern our life to live in his glory. And his glory is in his presence. And so walking in his presence. I'm reminded of how easily we can lose revival. Revivals through the years typically last a year or two or three. They might last as much as seven or eight or nine, but eventually they wane. Arthur Burt wrote a book called There Shall Be No Ebb, and he gets that title from
a prophecy that he heard in 1934. And that prophecy is, it shall come as a breath and the breath shall bring the wind and the wind shall bring the rain and there shall be floods and floods and floods and torrents and torrents and torrents. Souls shall be saved like falling leaves from mighty oaks swept by a hurricane. Arms and legs will come down from heaven and there shall be no ebb. In other words, this will be a move of God that comes in. Like when the tide comes in.
The tide comes in and then it ebbs back out. And then it comes in and then it ebbs back out. But this move of God that we are anticipating, and it's begun in pockets around the world, this is coming in and not going back out. In order for the outpouring to continue without ebb. The Holy Spirit must have the freedom to move in unique ways and not be bound to an earth pattern. So what I see is, and I think Arthur Burt wrote in his book, because he lived to be over 100
years old. And so he saw lots of revivals come and go. And what he saw, and I'm going to put this in my words because I didn't read his book recently, but what he saw was that pride would come in. that the people in charge of the revival, it's like, okay, I see the pattern that God is doing. Okay, God, we've got this. We'll just continue with that pattern. And that is how denominations get started. And you get a denomination that it was born in the Spirit. It was born in revival.
It was born in an outpouring. But the leaders say, okay, we've got this now. We can see how God is doing this, so we will continue to do it this way. And the fire goes out or goes very dim, and what was there in the move of God becomes something that's predictable. And they should be pressing in for more and more, but you get used to where you're at. It's true. It's true. And you think, okay, this is how it's done. a
place where he used to preach. And there was a lady that was really a wonderful believer, and she would get overcome by the Holy Spirit in a meeting. And she'd walk over to the piano and pick up the potted plant, the potted flower, off of the piano and stick it on top of her head
and dance around with it. So he could tell. Any time there was somebody who had been around this woman's ministry, because they would walk up to the piano and pick up the plant and dance around with it because they thought that that was the pattern. Here's how we're supposed to do it. Right? But that's the flesh. It's trying to do in the flesh what can only be done in the Spirit. It's like a lot of your Sunday morning programs will have three songs, then have the
offering, and that's the pattern. Right. But Jesus. He likes to blow patterns out of the water. Absolutely. Wow. Absolutely. So with this idea of being willing to let the Holy Spirit lead and do anything he wants to do, he wants to do things beyond what we've ever seen before. And that even if he does things according to a certain pattern, we see a pattern happening. Okay, we
can see the Holy Spirit is moving here. But rather than jumping on that and grabbing a hold of it in the flesh, we need to be ready for him to do something completely new that's outside of the pattern. Yeah. And we have to be willing to just submit and go with the flow. Outside of the box. Outside of the box. So I had an experience back in the late 90s that actually we talked
about it, I think, in episode one. If you've never heard episode one of this podcast, you could go back and listen to the whole thing. We talked about this vision in particular. So I'm just going to touch on it now and read part of it. But it was a prophetic vision that the Lord gave to me when it was described to me about someone who is in the spirit -filled charismatic movement. And she went back to her denominational
church because it was predictable. Okay, so there's a pattern that's in the flesh that has lost the fire of the Holy Spirit on it. I mean, it may be really good, and maybe the Holy Spirit's going to get as much done as he possibly can, because that's what he's trying to do. He's trying to help everybody get in, but he's only going to do what we permit him to do. So after I heard that, I had this vision of an atomic mushroom cloud. Like this big explosion has just gone
off. And you know that when the atomic bombs went off in Nagasaki and Hiroshima, that the individuals who were at Ground Zero were basically vaporized. There wasn't anything left of them. Except their shadows. Their shadow in stone. Yeah, their shadow was burned into the stone. And so what the Lord gave me was this. This is the message. We are at Ground Zero. of an atomic explosion of God's mighty, heretofore unseen
power. All the known and predictable of God's power, including all the miracles of the Bible, the parting of the Red Sea, the sun standing still in the Valley of Ajalon, the creative miracles of the Gospels and the Book of Acts, will be like the commonly known atoms before they are split to release the energy of the atomic bomb. When that explosion takes place, everything at ground zero, everything normal, predictable,
I'm adding that now, will be vaporized. And a pillar of the predictable known biblical miracles will billow and shoot upward. But then a splitting of those known miracles will occur, releasing the unknown power of God to form the top of the
mushroom cloud. This unknown power will billow out above the pillar of the known to stretch far beyond the known into the reaches of the domain seen by Ezekiel, Daniel, and John the Revelator into that which Paul described as unlawful or impossible to be uttered in 2 Corinthians 12, 2 -4. Those who will cling only to the normal will be vaporized, so to speak. and disappear
from the scene. Those who will lay aside their need to control and will yield to God will reach into this explosion of God's glory and be catapulted into miracle ministry. And those who will be willing to let God shatter and smash their preconceived understanding of God will be changed into the image of the resurrected Christ. They will receive their glorified bodies with their anatomical structure rearranged at the atomic slash molecular level, restoring the power of God to each atom.
They will come and go like the wind and pass through walls like Jesus in his glorified body. These will be used in the power and demonstration of God's unknown power to be vessels of miracles never before seen or dreamed of. This power goes beyond reason. Beautiful. And that word for strange things is the Greek word paradoxos. It means beyond expectation or opinion, something beyond
one's expectation, a miracle. In Luke 5 .26, it was used to express new things, miracles not hitherto seen, and thus beside and beyond all opinion and expectation of men. And that little piece I just read comes from the Lexical Aids to the New Testament by Spiros Adiades in the Hebrew -Greek Key Study Bible. the addition that I have from the 90s. So the point here is that if you want to go beyond the normal, to go beyond the known, to go beyond what you can predict,
you need to get into the presence of God. And you need to submit to him and let him work inside of you and let that flash of light. I mean, when that atomic bomb went off, people in far distances, their eyes were affected by the brightness of the flash. So the flash of his presence that will change us into his glory. We want to be patterned. after his glory. Jesus was the pattern son. And he did things that he saw the Father doing. And he said the things that he heard the
Father saying. I had an experience just the other day where I was meditating on the things of the Lord and this idea of Jesus doing what he saw his Father doing. I always had this understanding, it was what I was taught or maybe what I just gathered, That when Jesus would get up while it was still dark and have his prayer time with the Father, that he would have visions of what was going to go on during the day. And that might
be true. That might be how it was. But this thing that came to me was, it was like Jesus inside of me was looking out through my eyes and looking through his presence on the outside of me. And sometimes I've experienced that. in the grocery store or someplace where I'm out in the world, and I see someone, and as I look at them, I see the love of God for them. It's like God's love
is looking at them through my eyes. And I just wonder if maybe that was what Jesus was experiencing, where he only did what he saw his Father doing, as he would look at a person. His eyes would look on them in the Spirit. and see their need, and have the understanding of what God wanted to do. Because I think that's how it works, even in ministry. I've had that kind of expectation come to me, where I look at someone that's come from ministry, and I can see what God wants to
do. So I believe that this is the pattern that He wants to work in us, the pattern of the glory, the pattern of the heavenly, the pattern of what He wants to do in the earth. is what we're looking for. So let's pray. Father, we submit ourselves to you. And we're asking you to do in us and do in the listeners who are saying yes in their spirits, they're resonating with this message.
Lord, do in us according to the pattern of heaven, that we can operate on earth as it is in heaven, that we can be a part of that group of people that are so submitted to you and so willing to die to ourselves and to die to this life and to die to our passions and our desires so that we can have you. that we can have your way, Lord. We just want to be those people that you will be able to flash on the inside of us and cause
our bodies to be changed even, Lord. And while we're in this process of getting there, Lord, that you'll give us these experiences here and there, Lord, where we're translated or where we see miracles at our hands, Lord, as we obey your spirit. Lord, cause us to flow with you. Cause our listeners to flow with you and recognize when you are doing something and that they have that grace to be obedient because we want to see your work done in the earth and that we pattern
our lives to live in your glory. In Jesus' name, amen. If you enjoyed today's podcast, Please subscribe, rate, and review this podcast on Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen to podcasts.
