You bring things to God that looks totally impossible. Oh, how's this going to work out when you first see it? But then to watch God without you having your hand in it, without you bringing someone else into it. God just brings it out so beautifully. I'm telling you. And every day he brings us from faith to faith to faith. Once we have one experience with him like that, we said, okay, I have a strength for the next battle. The next. Yes. Okay. Yes. Faith just gets built up.
God promises in Joel 2.28 to pour out his spirit on all humanity. Welcome to Global Outpouring, where we contend for that promise outpouring. We equip for that outpouring so that we may engage in that very outpouring. I'm Philip Buss. And I'm Sharon Buss. Thank you so much for joining us today. We have with us again our dear friend, Phyllis Cameron. And she is going to share with us more about contending. But this time we're going to talk about contending in prayer.
Thanks so much for joining us today. We're just so glad that you could be with us. And thank you for tuning in so faithfully. We really appreciate it when you come back again and again. And we'd love to hear from you. You can go to our website, globaloutpouring.net. Make sure that you have signed up for our email list. There's a place that you can subscribe to that and let us know where you're listening from.
And if you've got something that you want us to talk about on one of our podcasts, we'll pray into it and see what the Holy Spirit gives us for you. And there's so many other things that you can avail yourself of on our website that will help you to grow and help you to contend for the outpouring and help to equip you for it so that you can engage in it.
We want to help you get more and more filled with the Holy Spirit, more and more into the character of Christ, because we are predestined to be conformed to the character of Christ. That's what we're all about here on the Global Outpouring Podcast, helping us to grow in the things of God. So today we have with us again our friend, Phyllis Cameron.
She's been a member of this ministry for a number of years, and she's been flowing with us in the Holy Spirit and worship and part of our worship team at our conventions. And so, Phyllis, we'd like to welcome you back again today. Oh, thank God. I'm so excited to be here with you once more.
We really enjoyed the podcast that we did last week, the episode that we did with you where you talked about how your firstborn son, Germain, had been suffering with asthma all of his life, and you learned how to contend. You contended with the angel of death multiple times to keep that boy alive. And then a drive-by shooting took him out. So shockingly, so shockingly. And you got your life back by praising the Lord, because that's what He told you to do, just bring that altar of praise.
So I want to talk this time more about contending an intercession, because I know you are an intercessor, and I love it when you minister in our early morning sessions or our worship intercession sessions at our conventions where you lead in worship and intercession. They go together so much. So much is accomplished when you worship into a place of the heights of the presence of God.
And in that place, there's a place where intercession falls on you, where you can accomplish something in the spirit realm. So obviously, we've learned that you began your walk of intercession and prayer and overcoming in that area when you were walking with keeping your son Germain alive through all of his many sessions with asthma. So tell us some more about how the Lord has trained you in intercession. Well, there's two other things I would say that were a great factor in my intercession.
I received Jesus Christ when I was nine years old. In fact, it was through a very unusual way. I accepted the Lord through an after school Bible club. Sweet. And the after school, the bus would take those that wanted to study the Bible. And I went, my mother was already taking us to church Sunday school and all that. And I remember hearing this song. It's amazing now I think about it was a song that drew me. Fair is Lord Jesus. Oh, I love that one.
And when I heard that, because I was a lover and still a lover of hymns, my soul, it began to come out of my belly and I just began to cry. And that was my place where I said I met Jesus. Wow. And then I was in the fifth grade and I remember I said, I want to be a missionary. Wow. Because we would get these scholastic magazines and they talked about where the missionaries would go get their trading over there. And I said, I want to be a missionary. And that has always been my heart.
I've been raised on that. In fact, in my room, I had all of the records at that time of gospel music. Beautiful. I was playing in church when I was nine, 10, 11. And when I went to college, I had a college gospel choir. I mean, I was involved in the church, involved in the things of God. And my grandmother would come over from South Carolina and say that my room out of all the rooms my mother told me was the most prayerful room in all of the house. Wow. She said there was something special.
Up until I would say about 10 years ago, my mother would keep my room as a memorial. She's still there in Connecticut. Wow. In that room. She painted it and she would say, okay, your room is ready. You can go in your room. Okay. And I'm like 50 years old going back into my bedroom until my brother took it over and he's a musician. So it's not the same anymore. But- That's a studio now. Right.
I was in that room and I would, I mean, just my other, I have five brothers and sisters, two of my other sisters, they shared a room. My other two brothers they shared a room, but I had my own room because my room was the prayer room. Oh. So I love prayer. I love getting on my knees and praying. And then when I moved from Connecticut, I got married. I moved from Connecticut to Michigan. I met at the church where I was attending a dear mother named Mother Caesar.
And she was from Jamaica, but she would travel all over the world. And she took, she was living in Canada, but she took a liking to me and she would call me up at six o'clock in the morning and start praying in the spirit. She taught me about that early morning prayer. Beautiful. Mother Caesar. And she would say, when I turn 80, my ministry is just going to start. Good, good. Just like Moses. Yeah. She was something else. And she did. She left there at 80 and did a whole nother work.
But I had those that were in my life that mentored me. In prayer. It was then recently, I was, when I say recently, it was in 2000, not too long, no, actually before my son passed, the Holy Spirit gave me a word through Micah 4 and 13. And it said, arise in thrash, O daughter of Zion. And when I saw that, I thought about what he'd already spoken to me. So that must have been around the same time about singing Zion songs in a strange land. Oh yeah.
He says, for I will make your horn like iron and I will make your hooves bronze. And you shall be in peace as many peoples. And I will consecrate their gain to the Lord and their substance to the Lord of the whole earth. So the Lord told me to start a prayer ministry online. And when I would meet people, I got on the phone line, it's been over 15, 18 years now. Wow. Every Saturday morning at seven o'clock, the Lord gave me said, pray in tongues, pray in the spirit, give God praise.
When you come into it, just praise Him. And then after that, we would just confess our sins and ask God to forgive us and make us instruments to stand in the gap for the nation, for the leaders. The Bible says, I think it's in Timothy to pray for those that are leadership that we might live peaceably. So we would pray for the presidents. We would pray for issues like abortion. We would pray for issues in the school. We would pray the seven mountain areas, if you're familiar with that.
Sure. Dealt very in depth. And then sometimes God will give us a word about things that were going on in the nation or out of the nation. But we would pray and the more we would pray and there'd be people that have come and stayed with us five years, 10 years, because it was warfare, very strong warfare. And it's like I tell people, I said, you can't, like with a bully, and I call the devil a bully, you can't hit the bully and he don't hit back.
So there would be attacks and the Lord would have to teach us how not to let there be any open doors or any fear in intercessory prayer. Amen. How you have to make sure that you are fortified. And the Lord said you have to pray the word. Yes. Pray the word. Absolutely. So we would use the word of God and soak it and declare what the word of God has said. For example, there are several people that have been praying and I also had a personal prayer for my children. We all praying for our children.
Situations come up and the enemy, he can't try to attack us or get to us, he'll go to our seed. But there's a scripture in Proverbs 11, I think in 21 says, the seed of the righteous shall be delivered. Amen. Amen. Hallelujah. Though the enemy joined hand in hand against them. And I would find the scriptures that relate to what we were praying for. Absolutely. One of the familiar scriptures that God gave us, we were speaking about contending, is in Isaiah 49 and 24.
Isaiah 49 and 24, let me turn to it to make sure I say it exactly right, because I can paraphrase this one. One of my phrase. 49 and 24, we were praying for children to be delivered out of captivity, whether it be drugs or illegal relationships or some of them that are in depression or even I've prayed for children that have issues in school, learning, autism, special needs children. And we would pray, but we would put the word in it.
And the word says in Isaiah 49 and 24, shall the prey be taken from the mighty or the captives of the righteous be delivered? In other words, shall those that are held prey by the enemy, whether it be sickness, rebellion, okay, disobedient to parents, caught up with friends that they shouldn't be, they're held captive by the enemy or the captives of the righteous. We're the righteous of God and the enemy is trying to take our seed. We know what happened with David and his children in the Bible.
Yeah. But the word of God said, and thus said the Lord, even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away. Yes. And the prey of the terrible be delivered. Then it goes on to say, for I will contend. Yes. With him who contends with you. Yes. And I will save your children. Thank you. Amen. I will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh and they shall be drunk with their own blood as with sweet wine.
All flesh shall know that I, the Lord, am your savior and your redeemer, the mighty one of Jacob. Amen. We will take on Saturday morning the name of the prayer ministry the Lord gave. It's called Arise and Thresh. Amen. Separating the chaff from the wheat in our own lives first that we may stand in the gap with others. Amen. And so the Lord, we underline every time it said, I will, I will. Yes. Contend, I will. We said, Father, you will not lie. That's right.
If you said you did it, you're going to do it, you're going to do it. Amen. We just have to come into agreement with it, agreement with your word. And then the Lord will take us on a journey with different situations and say, but we have to be careful that our words, our thoughts, our heart line up with your word.
Amen. Because if we read this word and say, I believe it, but then when we see the children acting up or doing something different, anything we see with our natural eyes, we can cancel the works of God. So we have to stand on the word, no matter what it looks like. Right. Not what the accuser says. Right. The accuser states the obvious and we can't be a part of that.
We have to say what God says about our loved ones in particular when we're praying for them, you know, what did God prophesy over them? Exactly. Once you get the word, what it says, I don't care what the situation looks like. And we have found that a lot of the enemy has been within ourselves. Yes. The Lord says, do not judge another one after the flesh. Right.
Sometimes our children or people we know, they're so close to us, we think we know them and then we'll speak things because we become familiar with them. Familiar with them. That's it. We can't be familiar and think you can judge people by their flesh because we can pray for them and they can bypass us and the things of the Spirit. That's true. Okay. So we have had many deliverances, many things.
I know there was one thing that the Lord spoke and it was very recent where God would just drop a word when we were just contending in succession, contending sometimes to drop a word and he spoke several months ago, sabotage. Sabotage. And I said, sabotage. Sometimes I just hear one word that I would tell them. I said, I hear this word, pray in the Spirit against the spirit of sabotage. Come on.
And then we would start praying in tongues because the word of God says we don't know how to pray as we are, but the Spirit knows. That's right. Okay. The Spirit knows how to pray. And so we prayed about the spirit of sabotage and I prayed about it and I let it go. I just record it. That's another thing. We always record, especially when something just comes out the blue, I said. We record it and date it and time it. That's good.
Because there's been some things that have happened in prayer that has been amazing on the timelines of God. So this word sabotage came in a quick testimony of something that happened that week. Okay. Two things were happening at the same time as I was watching. I was actually, Lord, how can I say this very quickly? So that was this year. I was asked to come to a school and conduct a choir, an 80-voice choir, because the teacher fell ill and they asked me if I can do this for a special event.
Wow. And so when I did it, they were using a soundtrack and we set it all up. You know how that goes, brothers, sisters, children. Sure, we do. We understand that. I set up the soundtrack. Okay. It was on my phone. Okay. We practiced it. We practiced it several times, getting the children in and out. Okay. I said, and 10 minutes before it, I checked it again. Okay. Everything was good.
But when I got ready to do it, the actual performance, there were hundreds of people in that auditorium and I pushed the button of the song, nothing came out. Oh my. And I heard the word sabotage. And I'm standing there and said, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, these two. And the children were so patient. I saw like the glory of God just came and they just stood there. They didn't move. They did just what I asked them.
And the principal was trying to help me, trying to help me to get it going and everything. And so when it didn't work on my phone, they went over to the desktop and they tried to bring it down. But of course it wasn't going to come through the speakers and all that time. But it happened. Oh no. But it happened. Okay. It was a precursor to something God was saying because we've been praying about our waterways in America.
We've been praying about this because I also saw that there were things going on where through the computers, they were sabotaging the waters and different water systems and other things. In fact, just here recently, there was something that happened with computers that all of the car dealerships weren't able to do any kind of work because somebody went in there and sabotaged. And then there was the same situation that happened with that big, so it's not called a boat over there in Maryland.
Oh yeah, yeah. Hit the bridge. Hit the bridge. Yeah. And I heard the Holy Spirit say, that was not what you thought it was. What people are saying. Okay. We have to pray against that spirit. Yeah. Okay. In every area. So things like that, God would, he would just speak in the spirit in intercessory prayer. And then we were content, okay, against it. And then the Lord's brought to us, he says, first of all, I've given you the key of authority.
In Matthew 16, I believe it is, he says, I've given you the key, make sure it is, to bind. Matthew 16, 19. 16, 19. Yes, it is 16, 19. Okay. So he says, I'm going to give you the keys to bind. And I say unto you that you are Peter. Hallelujah. Verse 18. Unto you Peter. And on this rock, I will build my church in the gates of hell or Hades shall not prevail against it. And this is what God wants us to know when we're continuing in prayer, the spirit of the enemy in the gates of hell.
And I was listening to you talk about the gates on the Tuesday broadcast, I believe it was. Yeah, a couple of weeks ago. Yes. Okay. And the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Yes. And whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven. And whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. So he has given us those keys, which are nothing but the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ to contend against sabotage.
Yes. Contend against those that are trying to pull and seduce our children. Okay. Those that are trying to destroy our name, our ministry. He's given it to us, but there were some things that have happened to me in years past. And I said, Father, why did those things happen to me? How come I got attacked like I did and things fell apart? He said, you don't know your identity and you did not use your authority.
Wow. Now that I understand my identity in Christ, even as it's spoken here, okay, and my authority to bind and loose, and it's not in me, it's through praise through a pure heart. It's through worship through a pure heart of what God's word says according to his will that the spirit himself will contend. Yes. Spirit himself. It's not us contending because that's something I think was taught wrong in churches for years that we know we're fighting with warfare and you just wear yourself out.
Mm-hmm. Come on. That's not it. Okay. We're not doing the fighting. We're just submitting to be used by the Spirit of God through use of prayer or praise, but this was taken from the Spirit of God. Through use of prayer or praise, but in this particular instance, we're talking about contending an intercession. Right. The word of God says, I was looking for a man. That's it. Looking for a woman that was standing the gap.
Yes. And I heard someone say, and when I was at the convention, so many wonderful words that really the things that are being birthed in this earth and it's going to be released is on the shoulders of the intercessors, the intercessors, God is calling the intercessors. To come and take their places of authority, but with consistency because you know how we do. We'll start praying, then the enemy attack and then we'll draw back or we'll become afraid. Yeah. Okay. Or we're not faithful to it.
Right. But he said- Distracted. We get distracted. He said, but if my people which are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, that's a promise. Yes. Yes. And seek my face, turn from their wicked ways, then we will literally hear from heaven. Yes. And then he will heal our land. That's a promise. Yes, it is. Yes, it is. And Philip preached a message recently. We'll put a link to it in the show notes.
Philip preached a tremendous message recently about I looked for a man who would stand in the gap. Yes, I heard it. And make up the hedge. Make up the hedge. Yeah. It was powerful and it stirred me to another level of praying and intercession. Wow, praise God. Thank you, Brother Philip. I wanted to tell you that. I was going to send you a text, but it's been missed. We need to, we need to remember this is what's going to shift the nation. And that has to do with contending for the outpouring.
Yeah. Really, it's about that we get so in tune with our Father's heart that we so let the Holy Spirit pray through us. Like the scripture you mentioned earlier, Romans 8, I think it's about verse 26 or 27 about we don't know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit will pray through us because he knows what's in the Father's mind. Amen. So he'll pray through us. Yes. And you know, that brings up a question I want to ask you about the expression, what it means to pray through.
We hear that expression. Not everybody understands what that means. Can you give us an experience that you know of in your life where you know that you have prayed through? In other words, you've prayed and you've contended and you came to a point where you knew that the answer's on the way. Amen. Hallelujah. Yes. The answer's on the way and there's a place of rest. Yes. That's what he's waiting for you to come into their rest about it, even if it hasn't actually manifested.
Yes. Yes. I have so many testimonies of God answering prayer after you have waited. Uh-huh. After you have waited. In fact, we were praying and the Holy Spirit spoke this. It was so beautiful. He said, you have need of patience. Oh yes. Oh yes. You have need of patience. And what brings patience but experience and things that you're contending for. Amen. And so while we were just waiting on the Lord for this one particular situation and it was like going into like three years of,
Father, I need you to work in this situation. Not only is this out of your will, this is not your best. This is embarrassing to the kingdom of God. I want you to move to the glory of God. So anyways, he was saying you have need of patience. So we were praying and waiting on God, believing God, fasting, crying out.
And I'm going to be very honest with you, if I may, as there were some thoughts that came in our minds about a situation that we were praying for, that we would get into the flesh with our own hands. Oh, it's so easy to get in the flesh. And try to say, well, I know this doesn't please God, so I'm going to do X, Y, Z. I'm going to take this into my own hands and I'm going to. Scary. I'm going to do something about this because I know God's not pleased with this, so I'm going to fix it myself.
And so, yes, and so I'm so glad every time I think of how he caused us to wait on him and let him work it out. The Lord said, I want you to be patient and use love as a weapon, because there's one part of us that we pray with our words, we cry out to God, and he's been saying, cry out, pour out your heart. In fact, there's a Bible study that assisted Grenchaw, who's the founder of End Time Handmaidens, a Bible study on intercessing and travailing prayers.
And I found all the scriptures throughout crying out. He's calling for the mourning women, he's calling for the praying women to cry out for this. And we did all that. OK, we did all that, but nothing seemed to move. In fact, I'll be honest with you, the situation got worse. And when it got worse, OK, it was almost to the point now. OK, Lord, we can't have this happen. But then the Lord said, I want you to be still and just contend.
And that scripture I gave you in Isaiah 49, 24 was one of my main scriptures I held on. He said, I'm going to do this. I will contend. Get your hands out of it and just let me take care of it. But basically, he was saying that we are like patients, patiently waiting. And if we patiently wait for God to move while we're interceding, it can't be just prayers with our lips. It has to be a place of the heart where we're not restless or in doubt or in fear. Beautiful.
He says, if you're patiently waiting, he said, you will see if you're waiting. Focus on the word wait. If you wait on the Lord, he said, you will see the greater. I'm going to use a play on words, the greater weight of his glory. Amen. I've seen that before. If you w a i t, you'll see the greater w e i g h t of his glory. Amen. And so I said, Father, show me the word. Show me something.
When I heard it in my spirit, he said, do you remember when the sisters ask Jesus, come now, come now, our brother Lazarus? He said, yeah, come pray. Oh, yes. And he did not move right away. He waited. He waited. When he got there, the story is told that Lazarus had died to the point that his body was already like decomposing. And by this time, he stinketh. That's right. Yeah, King James.
And so no way in the world they could have said that some kind of natural herb or something that they used could have brought him back. It had to be a supernatural miracle. Exactly. That will give a glory to God. No other way they could explain it when Jesus raised him to Lazarus back to life. So in intercession, I think one of the great factors that God has given us is to wait. So that we will see the greater weight of his glory, that people will see the glory of God.
So you had an experience where the Lord took you into another way of contending that you maybe hadn't even thought of before. Can you tell us that story? Yes, it was a time of several years contending in faith, fasting and praying for a loved one. And they had strayed away from the Lord and gotten into a relationship.
And as I was praying for them, it looked like it became, instead of becoming more and more what the Lord desires us to have as far as relationships, it became more and more intensive toward what the enemy was trying to design and make. Pretty much just flesh, right? Yeah. Yeah, we just said it. We just said it, we'll live in flesh, okay? Until I said, okay, Father, I want your glory.
Okay, I know what the world does, but you told us as Christians, and that there's a song that said, as for me and my house, that's nieces, nephews, okay? I have several of them that I've been praying for that are living in the flesh. And I've been contending for several, for their souls, because I understand we're living in the flesh, just to the soul. So I was contending for them and praying for them and fasting for them.
And the Lord asked me to go a step further when I was at the convention, because I had a timeline which I wanted God to move. And He said, I want you to believe me to contend in warfare by using, by sewing a seed, and it was a sacrificial seed. Yeah. Sewing a seed as a weapon. You've done everything. You've contended with love, you've contended with fasting and prayer. And I can tell you that the Lord did exceedingly abundantly above all I could ask or think. Hallelujah, He's so faithful.
I'm telling you, do not give up on those that you love, that you see that are in captivity to the enemy. Do not give up on them and become comfortable and say, well, they're just the way they are. Well, they're just a drug addict and I guess there's nothing I can do is just pray. The Lord may have something else for you to do. He may have you to fast. He may have us to just stand and decree His word. There's a word. So just be encouraged to know that God is not unrighteous. That's right.
To forget your labor of love, even in prayer, He's not unrighteous. So I thank God. And the answer to that was that the relationship separated. Yes. And this person had already given notice at the job and was ready to walk away from everything. Yes. And the mind was changed because God got involved. Yes. Because you obeyed God. God was able to turn a switch that woke this person up. And instead of losing the job, they were promoted and increase in pay.
Wow. And it distracted them so much from this relationship that they've gotten fully involved with this job. Glory to God. And I'm saying, Father, I never would have worked it out like this. In my flesh, I had all kinds of plans. Okay, maybe you should call this person and do this, and maybe you should do that. But the Lord says if you take your hands off of it and just trust me to do it, I'm telling you, it's just almost like a dream.
You know, there's a scripture saying, we were as them that dream. We were dreaming. I keep saying, this is a dream. How can this have happened so fast and like this? Wow. Yeah. Glory to God. It taught me patience in contending in prayer. Beautiful. Yes. Beautiful, beautiful. What a glorious answer, and we're so grateful to the Lord for that. Yes. Yes. Amen. Amen. Now, the Lord said, you have to remember this was a battle that you have won, but you must continue to contend.
This is a battle because the Lord spoke to me and said, you know, I said, Lord, how long shall I pray? How long shall I intercede for my children, my grandchildren, the church I go to, the ministry? How long should I keep praying? He said, until Christ is formed in them. Amen. Yes. Until they're transformed, that word, and Christ is formed in them. Beautiful. That's just one victory. And I think that's another thing we get distracted by.
We see a glimpse of hope and a glimpse of light, but we don't keep contending. Right. That's when the question you asked me, how do you know about pushing through faith, not pushing through prayer, right? Praying through. Yes. That was where I went around all the way around to Walmart to fit, tell. I went a long way around Walmart. Okay. Yes. When you got that word from the Lord to make a sacrificial gift. Yes. That was like the last push. Yes, it was. To get this thing through.
And so, like you said, you contended in many different ways. Yes. And then it just took that one more thing. It's kind of like they talk about the straw that broke the camel's back. Camel's back, yeah. You load a camel up with straw, with piles and piles and piles of straw, and just one more straw made the camel break. It's a matter of contending, contending, contending. Because really, that's how the devil works against us.
The Greek word that's translated devil in the New Testament is the word diabolos. Yes. And it's a compound word that really describes how the devil works. And like the first half of it is dia, and that means to penetrate, to go all the way through something. Mm-hmm. And the second word is baolos, and baolos means to strike and to strike and to strike and to strike and to strike. Amen. Over and over and over again.
So when you put the things together, diabolos means to strike and strike and strike and strike and strike until there's a penetration. So that's how the devil attacks us. Yes. And keeps banging on something and keeps reminding and keeps nagging, nagging, nagging, nag, nag nag, nag, nag, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke until he gets all the way through. And it's kind of like Chinese water torture. Mm-hmm.
You know, one drop at a time, one drop at a time, one drop at a time. Mm-hmm. Or you know, in nature, one drop at a time in a cave is going to build a stalactite or a stalagmite. It's gonna keep building and building and building until something is built. Mm-hmm. Yeah. But the same works for us. Contending and contending and contending and never giving up. The persevering. Now, there's a point in time where we know that we've prayed through,
where we know that we have what we've asked for. And I think sometimes we continue to contend when we've already prayed and it's time to praise and it's time to be thankful and say, Lord, you have promised, here's your word. You have promised. Yes. We trust you. We give you our trust. We fully expect that you are doing what you said you're going to do. And we thank you for
it. We thank you for it. And we start thanking in perseverance. Amen. That's right. Thanking and praising and perseverance, thanking and praising for the answer because, you know, we've prayed his word. He is good for his word. He holds his word above his name. So as we pray, there is a place where it's like, okay, it's time to turn off the asking. That's right. And turn on the thanking.
Yes. And you have to know where that is because it's real easy to keep on praying and praying and praying and praying and praying and praying and praying and praying and not letting go. But it's kind of like if you continue to ask the same thing, it's almost like saying, Lord, I asked you, but I haven't seen the answer yet. So I'm going to ask you again. When he heard us the first time. He heard us the first time. Exactly. He heard us the first time. And I think
sometimes we can start thanking sooner than we do. But the contending can also be contending in thanks and perseverance and thanks and developing patience, that patience of waiting for the answer. He's promised the answer. So if he's promised the answer, we should be saying thank you. Yes. That's why we can understand what that word says. In all things, give thanks for this is the will of God. Exactly. In all things, even the midst of all this going on, he said in
everything, the worst of things, give thanks and praise. Hallelujah. You know what? I was thinking of while you were talking about the account of Peter, when we were talking about being persevering in prayer, those saints were praying all night long when he was in jail. That's right. They were persevering. They kept praying until there was a manifestation of him being loosed out of that jail. Exactly. They didn't have a promise yet. No. When you get the promise is
when you start to say thank you. Yes. But yeah, they prayed and they prayed and they prayed. And when the answer came, they didn't actually believe it. Rota, open the door. Yes. So pressing through prayer, but pressing through with thanksgiving, believing it. Because the word says, you know, that it is faith, it's faith that moves God. Believing that what he said he would do, he's going to do it. But we're just speaking words and saying, I'm praying, I pray,
but we don't believe it with thanksgiving. Exactly. Exactly. Well, it's when you have that knowing that the answer is on the way. That's when you switch and you go from contending in prayer to contending in praise. Amen. That's right. That's right. Amen. That's wonderful. Amen. I'm telling you, isn't it exciting to live this life? I'm telling you. Oh, yes. Very exciting. It's very exciting to see you bring things to God that looks totally impossible. Yes. How in the world is this
going to all, how is this going to work out? You know, when you first see it, but then to watch God without you having your hand in it, without you bringing someone else into it, God just brings it out so beautifully. I'm telling you. And every day he brings us from faith to faith to faith. Once we have one experience with him like that, we said, okay, I have a strength for the next battle, the next day. Yes. Okay. Yes. And our faith is built up. Exactly. And the more you know,
the more you've seen answers. It's kind of like going through boot camp prepares you for toughness. You know, it works toughness in you, knowing that you've got some strength behind you. When you go through, like the soldiers that went to Vietnam were trained for what it would be like if they were captured. Yes. And they were put through some of that just to give them an idea so that they could survive it if it happened to them. And sometimes that's why God allows us to
go through some things so that we know, okay, I made it through that. I can survive that. So if I could survive that, I can survive this. And you press forward and you don't quit. You keep moving. That's right. That's right. And you persevere. You persevere and you push through. That's why today I can travel. I can go. I don't have any fear. I've been through enough stuff with... I haven't told you half the stories that I've had to deal with. Literally car accidents,
cars facing me and smashing me and just attacks. I know both you and Phillip experience some of that yourself. Sure. I think when you met me, the truck had hit me three times and turned me around and I was still driving the car. You know, it was amazing. I mean, things that you go through that shouldn't even be here. I mean, it was life threatening. I've had guns put to my head. I've had all kinds of crazy things and it brings you to the point where it's a bother.
It is true. The people that know their God are strong. And now we can do exploits. I know what you brought me out of by contending in prayer so I can face anything. I have no fear because fear is the enemy of faith. Amen. We cannot walk in fear if we're going to do kingdom work. Amen. Amen. What would you pray for our listeners as we close? Hallelujah. I thank you, Father. Hallelujah. Thank you, Father, for this gift that you have placed God in the earth through your
people. In fact, you gave it, O God, through your Son, Jesus, who is sitting at the right hand of the Father, even now making intercession for us. Yes. Dear Father. This gift of intercession, Father, when we do it the way your will is and your plan is, can move nations, can turn the hearts of kings. For you said the king's heart is in the hand of the Lord and he turned it. Yes. Father,
we need the intercessors to get on their places in America. We need, Father, O God, the intercessors to cry out and pour out our hearts on behalf of the nations and, O God, of the world and, O God, for what is going on in America right now. Father, I pray for those, O God, that you have given, O God, a call to this world to get into their places of intercession. And let, O God, your Spirit use them until they, O God, contend for the prophetic word that was given to this nation. Yes.
Even through George Washington, even through Charles Finney, even through the ones, O God, that you raised up, O God, in the early revivals, O God. We are taking this nation back for our children, for our children's children. Father, we have a weapon of intercession through pure hearts that can turn everything around for our schools. Yes, Lord. Father, I pray, God, in the name of Jesus, that you put the burden of your heart upon your people. Thank you, Jesus. Then your burden,
O God, is that all souls, you said all souls are mine. Yes. Father, we pray for the souls of your people to be brought into the kingdom, understanding that you love them dearly. But, O God, I pray that you birth the spirit of intercession once again. Father, place men in the hedge. Put a man and a woman in the hedge. O God, to stand in the gap in the name of Jesus. Father, all the four watches in the middle of the night, the midnight cry. Let the midnight cry. God, wake us up at 3 a.m.
Midnight, God, early morning watch. O God, to pray for you said to cry out for the children that are in the streets. This summer has been a rough summer already with children and young people coming into problems. I pray now even, Father, you said these youth, I saw a vision of young people filled up in the stadium. I'll never forget the dream, O God. Young people praising and worshiping you. Father, you call the young because they're strong. I pray, O God, that you would just gather
them, O God, and impart your spirit, O God. You said you would pour out your spirit upon all flesh. And, Father, use these young people in this next generation to set your, O God, your righteous standard in the earth, O God. Raise them up. Father, I pray that you release everything that they need. Father, draw them by your spirit. God, give us, O God, how to be wise and how to draw these young people because they're in a different world than when we were 30, 40 years ago. The world is all
technological, God. Help us how to draw them, O God. Give us wisdom how to minister. Father, you said we have not because we ask not. And I am asking in the name of Jesus, did you raise up? Yes, Father. Send help from the sanctuary. Yes, Lord. We believe it, O God. We can't wait to hear the report of the miracles that you've done, even what, like we saw what happened at the convention. We saw miracles. I didn't tell the testimony of the miracles that you did, God. That was just one.
But, God, do it again, Lord. That's what I hear the Holy Spirit. Yes, Lord. Do it again, Lord. Yes, Lord. Do it again. Yes. Just do the supernatural miracles. And we thank you, God, for Sister Sharon, for Brother Philip, and for the staff there that have laid down their life, O God, for God, for the brotherhood, for the body of Christ, to bring many souls to you, Christ. And we thank you for it. Yes, Lord. In Jesus' name. In Jesus' name. In Jesus' name.
Amen. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. You know, there was something that you prayed that makes me want to just add this one thought before we close. Yes. Years ago, this is about calling the intercessors to stand up into their place in the gap, in the places where you do warfare from, that need to be defended. Okay? Yes. Years ago, one of the ladies on our staff had a vision where she saw a woman sleeping in bed, and the alarm would go off and she'd hit the top of it. And the
lady asked the Lord, who is this? And he said, that's my bride. I keep trying to wake her up, but she keeps on hitting the snooze. But soon I'm going to sound an alarm that will cause her to rise up and take her place. Yes, Lord. Then she saw her jump out of bed, bend over, and in one motion put her armor on. It had been sitting on the floor at the foot of the bed. She just jumped up out of the bed, landed on her feet and went in one swoop. She put her armor on. And then the Lord
said to her, and make no provision for a relapse. So we just call the intercessors in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ right now. We call for these intercessors to get into their places. In their armor, standing strong, clothed in the armor of light, clothed in the Lord Jesus Christ, putting on Christ, walking into the likeness of the character of Christ in Jesus name.
