Hey everyone, It's Tuesday, November the twenty two, twenty eleven, and you were listening to the Giant Bobcast. I'm your host, Ryan Davis joining me to my left for the first time ever. Star of stage and screen. You may know him from The Fresh Prince of bel Air, Men in Black, Men in Black two, The Forthcoming Men in Black three, Hancock seven Pounds Pursuit of Happiness. Mister will Smith is here. I've been on the show before, Dick. When have you been on the show for rightf

for the iPad? When everybody else was gone, you were digging deep, Norman, I came on to talk about iOS games and everybody got really pissed off at me. That's right, Well you're gonna talk about iOS games again some more today. So welcome back, Will Thanks for having me. Right, pleasure to have you as always, lovely to be here. I hope folks, I hope folks could hear the finger that you were flipping me.

I thought about doing the two hand with the forewritten back, but I just like three dimensional three is going to be in three D three three D. Will Smith said it three D sucks it all, it all connects. Will Smith loves three? D Are you talking? Will Smith? Loves Money? Is what happened? Will Smith? He is? He's I watched Handcock a few weeks ago, so lovely film and it's super nice guy. Yeah,

principal man doing awesome man. Fantastic cups here. That's going. Yeah, cool, you're ready to go in Nebraska, Will, we'll just sit up a spit take on small talk, Will Smith? Is that how boring your podcast is? I miss my mouth sarcasm. That's hysterical. I was I was already in a Nebraska state of mind? Pat, No, you're not. You're all jay Z. You're getting your rappers confused. Now, Nebraska state of mind, isn't? I thought that was Jeff Christmins here. Yeah,

that's better. That's a NAS song, is it? Damn? I know? No, No, No, that's it's a NAS Braska state of mind. Yeah, that's pretty good. That's the album University when music. I like it when Nas puts his name into other words. Yeah, it's it's He's like, and I'm gonna put my name inmise you guys, Yep, it's like what else nostradamis? That is? That is the example that leaps to mind. Welcome to nos Vember, Brad shoemakers here. Yeah,

that's that's that's of the caliber. Yes, what is someone doing NOS member? Keep it hoods wait wrong? Yeah, keep a hood a ball until you fall. I don't know, be a street poet, street streets disciple. Do you think you have that in you? No, Patrick, it's the it's the week of Thanksgiving, which means that it's a three day week here in America, which I'm learning, Uh, after making assumptions brutally rebuffed.

Uh. Yeah, the rest of the country or the rest of the world could not give less of a fuck and no less about even the rest of the continent. Yeah, it's like it's like Boxing Day. When that happens, I'm always surprised, Like every year I'm Boxing Day. It's like, No, I don't know. That's I guess. Is that response you know, I'm saying, that's the response of like when someone says to you, like, what's up with fucking Like when when Adams says, like,

what's up with having dinner at like two in the afternoon for Thanksgiving? That's weird? It's like, No, it's Thanksgiving, it's what you do. What are you talking about? You make room for sandwiches. Shut up. It is weird eating that early and having that be the last meal of the day is a little stres day. That's not it. Not y Yeah, that's that's the thing. That's the fallace. Don't think of it as dinner, you do. You do that then, so you have room for sandwiches

at like six thirty or seven. I don't know. I like actually eating later than two. I think that's like, yeah, like two thirty, two forty five. The reason you want to get it out of the way early because then you want like the two or three like sandwich stops as the evening progressive, Like I gotta roll back to the kitchen. It's like there's still a pie in there. That's always been a day after thing for me. Really, you don't do the sandwich later or like three five days after?

Yeah, yeah, I mean he starts off so good, Like the big family Thanksgiving thing is always like super early, and I always just look at it as weird. But at the same time, it's like a good thing because it means you get to leave earlier. Well, it's good enough to be on the road at like eight o'clock at night on Thanksgiving, sure, because everybody's either really shit faced or yeah, I gotta I gotta travel, so I kind of But here's the real thing. I go to Nebraska,

Nebraska. I usually come back Huskers. I usually come back like a Thanksgiving. Yeah, Thanksgiving, that's where it started. Really, you know what, I bet they actually have a better Thanksgiving and brass plymouth rock Nebraska, right, yeah, yeah, accurate, Yeah, you know, Nebraska, Nebraska Land. I'm probably gonna spend a lot of times like Native American casinos. I've done Thanksgiving in casinos. It's good. It's usually word Katie'

family ends up in a casino by the end of thanks every night. This is my my first Thanksgiving not going into Fresno in about a decade. So how was good or bad? Thing? How is? How was casino? Punkin pipe? Bitter Sweet? Don't eat at the casino, no, no,

no, no, no, no, no, you might. You might sneak a sandwich, though we do common to sneak a thanks sand sandwich into the casino because they have no food rules and casinos I didn't all probably huh pab need you too nice to just showing it down in front of the slob machine. These thing is when I come back, I usually come back with like like plastic bags full of Thanksgiving stuff because I don't have the advantage

of like just being able to conveniently go home with the leftovers. Usually, you know, sometimes if the family that is hosting is nice enough to doull that out to the people leaving, I was always bring I go. I go through the airport with tons of Thanksgiving stuff. Wow, chicken and stuff. Do they give you any do they give you any trouble? I imagine TSA is like like that. It's I mean, do you have to put the gravy and three oiners? It's more it's more jealousy actually, like they

look at like that's yeah. I wish they don't go like that's fluid. You can't bring You can't bring all that gravy with you. I can't bring all that. You gotta check the gravyeck the gravy. Turkey's fine, but you gotta check that gravy. I don't think we take the gravy on. We think I'll just the chicken the solids. But maybe maybe I'll keep saying chicken and you're freaking me out, turkey, Okay, I want to make sure. I'm sure there wasn't some weird subset of people like, no,

we're gonna have no Braska, it's a chicken, that's race. Come on, I have a post Thanksgiving philosophical question. Yes, uh uh Turkey sandwich or ham sandwich Turkey village? Well, Ham is Christmas man? Really, I don't even really like, you know what we have spiral slice. Maybe I always want like one, like one big slice of ham, and then I'm like by the end of it, I'm like, yeah, I've had my hand for him for the year. For me either either, I'm just

like it's like the turkey. I'm not even going to come for the Churcken, come for the stuffing. So it's like, yeah, I'll have a little bit of turkey, but we have we have both for both. So do you do the country ham or do you do the spiral slice? Funny Ham? Country Ham is a Christmas morning thing and that's see, that's what we always do it anymore and you'll be dead. Yeah it's morning ham salt, No morning Ham, you fry it up and christ it's real country.

I'm going to blow your mind. But Ham is whatever Ham you want it to be whenever you want it. Hamood's like bacon. It's not like you need to say, like, no, this ham is only for breakfasting. No, you have it at breakfast. It becomes breakfast kind of pizza. Do you have a cold? You have a warm? Yeah? Do you guys do the open face turkey sandwich with like the stuffing in the gravy on top? No, yeah I do. Yeah, it's gonna bena be mobile. Yeah. Well, I'm not making a clean enough sandwich to make it

mobile, like it's yeah, I like a dagg Wood Saniel. I'm piling filth on a plate and then shoving it all inside me. Yeah, I got mashed potatoes in there sometimes too. I can't make a fisgiving sandwich without making a huge mess. Come on, guys, it's America for christ sakes. But then, how are you making enough of a mess if it's still mobile? Like, I just think you haven't gone far enough. If you're able to there's enough, there's just it's just it's the construction. It's a

wearing gloves. Well, here's the question. She's like going, everyone bread, are you using white? Oh? Yeah, white, just just wonder bread. Yeah, Okay, then yeah, you need like a plate and napkins and a shower. Yeah for that to work. Are you using like construction material? No, like a sour dough roll so that you can like hollow out and then like fill with the stuff. Do you you hollow out? Oh? Absolutely, hollow out. What do you do with the rest

of the Throw that shit away? And don't need that bread man like toast that put in your soup or something. I'll throw it outside, much like my sacrificial pancakes. We saw a seagull with a full bagel this morning. Yeah, we went to the best Buy this morning and there was a seagull who was it was on top of the fucking world at an entire bagel. The other birds were losing it was flying away with it. It was like I have a whole baby in his mouth, like late I'm not even theirs

when they fly away jets after burner. I'm impressed the seagull could lift a bagel. Man, it was Siagulls are pretty big. Yeah. I don't know if you've seen him around here, but the bagels not specially when they're getting bagels. Imagine how true that's the thing he had to have already had a bagel to be strong enough to carry that band. What would you do if this was not his This was not history bake. So he was protecting

his strength, prohibiting the other birds from getting the bagel. Absolutely, yeah, absolutely denial. The early seagull gets the bagel. That's yeah, it's the origin of that one Snopes. So do you guys roast turkeys? Is it roast turkey all around the table here or is it like, do you got anybody try to try the fry we have? We have fried turkeys for several years. Yes, Okay, are you good because you're hosting Thanksgiving less unless you have a spare fry? Are you want to? It's at Norm's

house. Okay, we fried turkeys on on Friday. Yeah, some of that that was that was good. But I'll tell you what that smoked turkey that we got, Yeah, Joe Are provided from text. I actually never heard the name. God bless you Joe Are, and also fuck you Joe Are. That thing is it is savage? So yeah, it is incredible. So that thing showed up, I guess Thursday Thursday. So I decided that like we needed to get it out of here. Yeah, that was

a good move. Because you were bringing in two turkeys already, and it was just gonna be turkey chaos, like, no one's gonna touch this turkey. Yeah. So I asked around, like, hey, someone want to like split up this turkey, and everyone was like get that thing out of here, except for Ryan. He was like, you can't take that turkey home? So home. I realized that the turkey had already been passed on by every one else, so yeah, goodall. So I took that turkey

home and cut into it over the weekend and it almost killed me. Sandwiches cut a leg off with horror and then started cutting like pieces off the breast and getting in on that about a third of it cold. Yeah, so that that smoked turkey is supposed to beating either cold or temperature. Yeah. And and on the their site for this, the company that sells these turkeys, like if you must heat it up, and then and then gave yourself in a situation situation where you have to heat it up, Yeah, here's

what you need to do. And it was a really elaborate process and and even then it sounded like it was more aimed at thawing it out in case you would frozen its The black skin on that thing was unlike anything I've ever seen, like spoke some salty mayhem. It looked really good. It was so on like Sunday, I go and grab the rest of the I said, Ryan, it texts like Saturday night, you know I you've gotten it to say, like you need to save me from this fucking turkey or I'm

gonna bring it to you on Monday if I live that long. So no, he when he handed to me, he said, be careful with this, and he meant it power and yeah. And when I got home, I had maybe it's like a couple of slices off the breast, not a huge amount of it, just that much on Sunday. My face for the rest of the day smelled like a camp fire. Just the smokiness was so goddamn intense, and I was worried about I was getting that stuff that I was just like, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna be able to have turkey

next week. You don't want to. It was just like this is this is so hardcore? Yeah it was. It was to back away from that thing. I throw it back in the in the sack and be like you come get this. It's good stuff. So God, yeah, God, bless you turkey that smoked turkey. I don't know, just talking about games to talking about games, okay, any turkey games, talking about some turkey games. Game with turkeys once, Yeah, man was a good game.

Four games, the Turkey first and Shooter played. I played too much of that game. Probably I played a lot. If you played a N sixty four south Park game, he probably screwed up somewhere. I was at the age where it seemed funny I had to write about it. So there was a cart racing game that was real bad that came out on a million platforms, the Dreamcast version. Right, you guys, you guys see that documentary about how they make south Park a couplet. I just watched it. It's

pretty awesome, and I know about the process. It's crazy. It's insane. Uh No, it just a you know what it is on Netflix is The Captains. Oh yes, I watched about five minutes of that and I had to turn off. I could not handle it because it was not handle it. William Shatner goes around and it has like sit down, chatty interviews with all of the other Star Trek captains. I don't like that. No, it's amazing. Watched the whole thing. I can't, yeah, and

I want to. I got about five minutes into Patrick Stewart and I was just like, Nope, sorry, I can't do this. I don't know. It's it's it's amiable though, it is. It is. It's just it's it's a weird mind fuck it is. It's a hard thing to to sell it. It's not it's not hard. It's not like it's hard to watch. It's not like it's like, oh this is cringey. No no, no, no, no, no, it's just mind blowing. Like I can't believe these two are talking and you know there's having like actory conversations

that the thing Shatner is we talk about craft a little bit. Shatner the man is divorced enough from James Kirk, the character, Yeah, that you can kind of like watch him bumble around and do whatever. But then you see Patrick Stewart, who basically still looks like Picard, yeah, except you know, wandering around his like like kind of French villa. Yeah. Yeah, he's got a real pastoral like kind of British foot with all these crops

everywhere and gardens and stuff. Is it like it's like the last episode next year kind of yeah, I just I couldn't. I couldn't, okay, And then came old Group. Then you know what they'll talk about NTSF, SDSUV the whole time, probably probably him before then. You know what's great is that he goes all the way and he even gets Chris what's his name, Christopher Pine from the New one Greenwood in there? Uh bo Pine okay,

from from the Abrams movie. Like even he even talks to him at the end of the they like, I think you meant Pike No, no, no, because he's like a big thing between them. Were like because because we wanted to be in it, and like Abrams wanted to be in it, but then like there was some weird falling out and then Abrams wanted

him in. Yeah, it was if you if you go back and watch the timeline, like they there was like a he's gonna be in it, He's not gonna be in it for like a whole year, and then like shooting just because that they shot Star Trek when it was the writer strike, so at a certain point, like they couldn't shoehorm him into the movie, and like there was some bitterness what I thought Shatner didn't like the whole idea of rhet conning the first universe out of existence. He's pretty money, figured

out money relevance. Like, he was on Boston Legal for a while and then that show went off there, so he's got to find Yeah, nothing to what happened to what happened to ship? My dad says that done canceled cancer quickly. He was really good on Boston Legal though it was a TV show based on a Twitter account. Didn't make it. I honestly, I made it a whole season, man, didn He Crane almost rivals James Kirk and the point in the in the duo of him and James Spader, that

was a that was a hell of a show. Yeah, James Spader's pretty gray. Yeah, there's more games with James Spader. We saw? Are there any games James Spader? Just Spader Man? Yeah, here's the voice. I still I still can't get over you want to bet that? Yeah, eating outside? Were eating outside? Eddie Rickenbacker's rolling down the street wearing a fedora, Like, holy fuck, that was James Spader. He's wearing a fedor. Nice kind of a winter day. Think you've been out shopping

and it was just here San Francisco. Wow, like randomly second there, like holy fuck, what are we gonna do to get James Spader host the VGs. He's got to be in a game. Who's hosting it now? Not James Spader? Yeah, not James fucking no idea? Who's hosting it this year? I don't know. I don't think they've said you have. Let's just say Jack Black. I was gonna say it's just Jack Black or like a cartoon kind kind of Red Bull can hosting awards show? No,

but anas can can't? Of Saints Flow there it is, I like the Saints Flow. Did you open one of those? I drank like three of them? How many do we have three of them? Fuck face? They're all said to me, but they send to you say it's Flow Energy drinks. You can drink them. Do you drink the other thing that was in that package? Not yet? I opened it, but I haven't drank all of it yet. That's all of it. I haven't had like a like

a drink out of it. Yes. Oh during the no no, no, no no no. That was like over a weekend or something it was after them. Hey, Will Smith, all, Ryan Davis, let's gone. Should I talk about Witcher two? Have you been playing with two? You're in the Butcher two seat, so I haven't play. I played the first twenty everything you know about we should say if any Caravell is on a vacation, Yeah, I'm here. Why that's why he's not here. I don't think I can fill this seat. No, I'm pretty sure. I

know it's that's an absolute truth. It's not that's not an issue of speculation or No. I'm I'm just here to put words into a microphone. We just need something to fill that fill anything at all. Yeah, could be goody. In fact, it's better if it's if I could I, if we could afford it, I would just play yakety Sacks in that channel for the next ninety minutes. But it's too expensive. Okay, public domain yet No, yakety Sacks belongs to everyone. It should, but not too.

It turns out if you play yakety Sacks too much, then then they come after you, just like the Heavy It's more than even it's more so than even the birthday song. We don't don't we get like twenty nine seconds though also like double Dutch bus. I don't know how that's not public domain yet. But yeah, no, I never played the Witcher. Okay, what about the Witch? Nope? What have you been playing with, Smith? I've been playing a lot of Skyrim, played some Saints Right last night,

a little bit of Modern Warfare three multiplayer only. All right, well, let's talk about what do you think of Skyrim? I think it's fucking awesome. What are you playing as? I am playing? I am playing as a a dark elf, heavy with a mace. Dark and fire els look too severe in that game. Well, I liked being like I saw that there was a fire bonus you played as a dark elf. I thought,

oh, this is a great idea. And then it turns out that everybody in that game hates me becase you're a ark because I'm a dark else. Ye yeah, yeah, I've never been totally sold on the character design in those games. I don't know what it is, but the facial features, like the angularity, something a little off putting. I like the people, and I even like the cat people and the lizard people, but it's mainly

the elves. The elves are too severe. The orcs are good. I think actually the orcs look like I actually like the way they downplay the Orcs, like they're not like super deformed, super beastly. Yeah, they're not monstrous. It's like that's a dude that kind of has a heavy joke, a little tusk. Yeah, it's like original serious clingons. Yeah, it's like they got kind of bad teeth and it's a little heavier. But they're

not like bright green. It's sort of more of just like there's a drabness to the skin tone, Like I actually think that does they do that? Really? Really els look more like aliens? They do. They look like great, which is why I picked one. Yeah, yeah, if you if you make an else, but the truth is out there for low like all of them, they all look like but I think I ended up picking their eyes. Their eyes are super big and wide set and like a bunch

of the eye when you're making the character a bunch of the eye. Colors don't even have it's just like like dark dark all the way across or corneas like like cataracts or red eyes. Yeah. I just decided to roll a white supremacist. So okay, so you're a Nord Yeah, okay, how's it going well for you and not so much. The game locked up during the opening sequences after I created my dude, so playing an Xbox xbox like like literally like still ride around where it locked up for me the first time

being chased from being chased by the dragon. Yep, that was my second lock up. It locked up for me wow before then on a loading screen before it even loaded into the carriage and the opening part of the game, and then it locked up a second time with the dragon. Yeah. I was like, oh, but this is already going great. I didn't see a carriage, like, I didn't get that. I was still jumping around

town, dude, like running from starting a carriage. Yeah, okay, okay, so you actually I locked up, Like okay, I start lock up. The thing is like I didn't play my game until I hadn't loaded up sky Rim at all until last night. And that's after like the patches and ship had come out on three sixties, So it was still I get patched and then it ran and then it locked up. Well, see the

patch patch is still coming. I'm kind of waiting for that. Like I stopped playing it, stopped playing it, like I missed to wean myself off my like two hours a nine a night. So like I've kind of like the addiction is gone, and I'll just wait till that patches out and then I'll go back to it. Well, they passed too many comparison shots. They patched the PC last night, but but it took away all of the

like the memory mods and stuff like that. So it has to be an authorized team executable now, so all that like loading memory for the memory and all that stuff. Executive, executable, executable, executable, executable, executable, what it's an executable? What fuck you say? Executable exactly executable, executable. Nah, I'm pretty sure this isn't okay for you. No, not on this. How do you say it's acutable if you're executable something that

what are you talking about? An ex executor executor will have an excellent So you shaking an argument for the other. I don't hear a difference. Say it again, executable EXCU there's no there's no Z and ex executable executable will In English, syllables have varying lovels of stress. I hate you, guys. It's the first time someone said this. No one has said, hey, will you say this word? Real? Fucking weird. Nobody's ever said

that to me. Nobody ever fucking tells me that shill it comes say that word real fucking The only thing that I ever heard was a sous it comes up, that comes up. Oh my god, you say that. You say that about every third tested podcast. But I've never I've never Nobody said I've never said anything. I've never said anything. Man, I was someone was picked up on it. That's he's secret British because that was going to Gary too much. Can I'm damn it, it's too late. Executable,

executable. Yeah, it's been real solid on the PC. That's all I'm saying. Oh yeah, this is another thing if you done the thing that everyone else seems to be doing and fucking it up to your TV. Yeah yeah, Yeah, it's a fucking awes dude. It looks about twenty ft HDMI cable. There's a hole in my wall between the office and the and the living room where like the phone jack is that I don't use. So I just took the plate covers off and ran the cord through the hole and

uh and use a wireless Xbox V sixty controller and it is awesome. How long can M cable beat. I'm in the process of that right now. It seems like the consensus it is about twenty five feet is where it tops out. Okay, you could go longer, so it's like fifteen meters ten meters. The weird thing is, like, it's it's not that it's not it's just gonna stop working. It's that the resolution you can do reliably goes

down. So like, okay, at like thirty thirty five feet, you might not be able to do ten ADP and more, but you could probably you could still do seven twenty. You could get a signal booster, yeah you can, and Monte Price sells those. Yeah, they're kind of expensive, they're like thirty probably. It's my office is clear on the other side of the house. That's my problem too. So well, I'm just gonna run a long ass cable down the hall. Yeah, the long ass cable

down the hall. It's okay. And the nice thing is it it'll carry audio too. Yeah, so you have to manually go into the Windows sound control panel and change like which is ok yeah, but if you so, those Invidia cards do have audio out on there, and they're effectively also sound cards. Now well so, but The only trick is the video cards have a mini or micro h GMI. It's the real ones. It's mini, so you have to actually get an adapter. Yeah, it comes with one.

Yeah, yeah, I guess it did. Retail video cards generally come with one. I broke mine last weekend because it's easy because if you forget that cable is there and you trip over that little that little adapter will just snap in a half. Yeah. But they're like two dollars from mount of Price, so fought more. And how much was your long cable? Like five bucks or something? Twelve bucks? The one I got was a twenty two gauge okay for about thirty bucks for twenty five footer. Yeah, it

seems right from from Monoprice. Yeah. And and and the wireless h the wireless Xbox controller dongle. Yeah, so you can just use your normal Xbox wireless controllers with the PC I got a long time ago when they were kind of expensive. Apparently they're brad you're saying, hard to find them, borrowing Jeffs right now until I find my own. But Microsoft only sells them in

a bundle with a controller. And if you already have enough controllers, that's kind of Yeah, it's kind of annoying to have to spend like fifty bucks to get just the adapter, but they still saw that way. Yeah. But the weird thing is an Amazon has a bunch of like gray market and

knockoff ones. Well I think that aren't exactly Microsoft made. There's some of those, and then it also seems like there's some that are like just white box, where somebody buys the controller with the bundle and then splits them out and sell them both separately, which I guess they can make five bucks per stretcher. Yeah, So I mean that's just weird. Though it's a good expense works, it's a great I mean, it's awesome though. When you get it working, it is like I have a fifty eight inch TV,

the big sound in the living room. It's like having a console that basically does TENDPI text and stuff look on everything. Everything is Windows Desktop. Like, could you theoretically, if you really wanted to, could just use that as your primary monitor. You could. It's the further out you get, the hairrier the text get. Because the way they basically they what I've been

told is that they arrange subpixels differently for TVs than for monitors. It looks that way, so you end up like you can adjust, you can do the true type tuner on Windows and it'll kind of help with that problem. I haven't done that because I still use the monitor in the other room. But like in game, there's no problems. It really looks great because I

mean everything in games is designed towards right sitting at a distance anyway. But I really wish that's like the kind of fabled Steam ten foot interface thing has been rumored for a while, well, there was a I wish they would make that happen. Yeah, launching launching games from team from like ten feet away. That would that would make it tough. That would make the whole notion of this seem a lot more attractive to me. And I just like, Okay, I don't I don't have to Jerry rig this anymore. I

can just like I was. I was sitting there with boots straight like, I was sitting there with my Windows phone using that as like a touchpad mouse device like and trying to click on those tiny little little game names away. The thing I end up doing is literally just getting up. I have it

mirroring the displays on both monitor and TV. So then I'd go into the office, set everything up and and basically start the game and then realize I forgot to change audio, so I quit the game and then change the audio. And then I realized I didn't have this controller SYNCD up, so I sync up the I end up starting the game like three or four times. So then once I get it, I just leave the game running. That's why I have like fifty hours played in Skyrim right now, when I've probably

only played maybe twenty because I just leave it running in the background. So when I'm ready to play a switch abatter. It's not it's not a perfect solution. Like my monitor and on my PC is not as high rose as my TV, so I can't mirror the displays. Oh, I have to just switch. Yeah, which to me basically like switching the displays on the PC and then just knowing that I have to tab and then enter to confirm it because I can't see the screen anymore. Well, there's a there's a

keyboard short cut too. You can hit Windows P on Win seven and Vista to change between single monitor, duplicate projector secondary input only and extend displays. So yeah, you just cycle through them. You just cycle through them until the one you want. One of jamp ons famous keyboard shortcuts. Yeah, brought to you by It's what I bring to the table here Will Smith. Yeah, so you like Skyrim, Skyron's Good Saints Row up and I played

some Saints row last night. That works great on the on the TV two how far and it hits row Are maybe an hour I finished. I did the first one of the like the doctor gank, Yeah, kind of side mission. Still there's still like some side missions to be introduced. I'm still for the story really gets Yeah, I haven't like taken over a whole area yet. I'm maybe it takes a while. It seems like, yeah, it's the game's crazy. It's like in a kind of fun way. You

have like six hours of that last night. Yeah, Patrick finished it. We need to be careful around Brad because he gets laid it, but he is now he is now sold based on everyone else's lacy because they're I'm sure that everyone's everyone. You can now maybe articulate the problem that Jeff and I had when we first brought this game here and said, like, guys,

it's really crazy, and got kind of crickets. I was trying to because, like you know, we all have our own sense of humor, and I could I could see in the first hour or two, like how this fit for both of you guys. It was like, well, maybe this just is like I get why this is crazy and get why it's weird and it's fun. Yeah, but maybe it's just clicking more for you guys, and what's for me. It's like I'm having fun, but I don't know, like I'm just not I'm not seeing where I get pushed in this other

realm of just what. Yeah, And then last night, about two thirds of the game, I want to say it's Mission thirty four. Like I want to say specifically, is that there is a mission where it's just Again, I don't want to say it because you can't. You have to experience it and see it for yourself. Well, mostly I don't want to spoil

for Brad if at this point he is committed to it. But I feel like next week I'm going to have to start saying some of the things just because if you were on the edge, if there are certain things described will make me sound like a crazy person, like you will not like you won't believe me like you will. No, No, you're not. You won't even Yes, things are so crazy in that game, you won't even believe that the things that are in it would be in a game. No,

it's like, no, why would you put that. That's that's retarded. Why would you do that way? But during the rest of the game, you're doing this, why would you do that in this part of the game like that, Wait, and it manages to make sense, you know, like the story. Yeah. Yeah, it's not just like, well that was random kind of thing. It's like, no, there's there is an internal logic of man's an internal like this feels like a game. Like sometimes

you talk about games where nobody said no and things go wildly. Of course, this feels like a game when nobody said no, when it just some it's just nobody said no to anything that wasn't boring. If it was boring, this fuck you get out of my face, Go make that not boring

and we'll talk. Look like the way I would describe it as so like in Grand Theft Auto way that series that the trajectory of that has gone, especially with four, is that you get some sort of crazy mission every once in a while to kind of mix things up and like, hey, this game is super serious. Now it's like here's something you know, here's a tank, or here's something crazy we're gonna do, and it kind of breaks at tension, like this game just takes out all the filler and it's like

all those missions are just stacked right next to each other. There is just there is never a game is like here's a tank. Yeah. The first this first real mission of the game is is like here, now you have uh, you know, you can call in missile strikes like okay, yeah,

that is one of that is one of your early game abilities. And like the parachuting, like the ability to just jump off of the buildings jumping go get this crazy bass like mission mission Yeah, kind of not that good control, but like yeah, but all the mini games, most of the time you hit this kind of game. The like two thirds of the mini games are kind of garbage and the like that tank one is fantastic. Yeah, they're all Yeah, match is no good. Which one is snatch?

That's where you got to drive around and pick up the ladies. You just gotta get your self. So I got, I got, I finished the game. Uh, completed all of the Islands pretty much just like the Saints book stuff is the only stuff that I haven't done yet, the assassinations, cars, all that stuff, and uh yeah, like Jeff said, you can upgrade your guide to a point where I just don't take damage anymore from anything. Okay, Yeah, Like there's there's like ability upgrades for like takeless

damage from fall or from explosion, or from vehicles or from bullets. You can also disable the physics, like yeah, yeah, you can disable ragged all for your character. I know it's a shitload of money, but it's mostly for you to just screw around with the game to no longer Yeah, I no longer get ragged allow. Well, that's because I no longer get hurt because vehicles and explosions and bullets and fall damage don't do anything to me anymore. So your level fifty, you're like, yeah, is that the

max level? I don't know. I think I just yeah, I just hit fifty because I would say hit fifty and did all that stuff. I was at the point I'm like, all right, I kind of did everything I wanted to do. Yeah, what's the level where you can call and a is it a V toll? Is that how you would pronounce yeah, like thirty six or is that later that might be around there. Yeah, I don't know. I definitely got that around the time I finished the game

where I just started chewing through levels. So so yeah, because I got level seven minutes, like the respect bonuses and you know, yeah upgrading your power plant yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah, So I just I just want to I just like upgrading your power plant. Yeah, like your power your power club, yeah crib. Yeah, that's just one of one of your strongholds, a power plant, power plant in someplace that they generate electricity. Yeah,

you own it and you have a penhouse. Wow, it's purple of course, make it bigger, yes, because it also loves like when you upgrade those things, it's not just a little bit. It's not just like oh there's some more dudes out in front, or like like oh what if this building was twice as big and then what if it was twice as big again? Okay, yeah, so I love how just months like crazy the buildings are like you just go going downtown, like I feel like I've been

fucking Blade Runner fund. It's v toal Jet in between these giant skyscrapers. That have like moving billboards, Like it's like of them have pierced on them. Yeah, haf of them are advertising products that belong to you ostensibly.

I also like that the game is constantly rewarding you for even during the boring parts of the game, So like when you're when you're just driving from point A to point B before you have access to any of the like the flying vehicles, or if you're just not close enough to a crib to request one,

or you don't have a special ability to just call one in. Yeah, is it like you know, if you're if you're driving on the other side of the street, or if you're doing traffic, if you like you're you're feeding into the respection wheels, jumps, there's always things for you to be doing that kind of takes your mind enough. The fact that like I am just mindlessly driving for the next three minutes to get to the next location.

Well, and the driving and the shooting are both real good for this, Like, yeah, I think the driving was really like feels like our driving games. And also when you're near like I love that. I hate the GT series. How anytime you ne're a cop or anything, if you ex run over someone, or if you bump into a car, it's immediately one star. You can fuck up so much shit without anything happening in this game, like it is so, it is so, and one star in

this game is like it might as well be zero. It's like, yeah, they'll shoot at you, but who cares then if you generate health so quickly, this game is like I don't just yeah care about these, it's just a non issue. Ever, Like gangs are a bigger concern than the cops ever are, But I just like that you you know, the luchador and hacker gangs. Yeah, yeah, I just think you can screw around

without having like gangs. You constantly have to like shake off the stars and grant theft auto as soon as it starts to get here, you just say you'll have it just a guy or calling a zombie apocalypse like you can do like you do all these crazy things to kind of just keep going at or maybe just like run into any store or building that you own, or buy a building you chose that you chose that route. That's heartless, which how do you want? Like I can't even even say, yeah, I agree,

that's crazy cold. You're crazy cold? Sorry, boss, guys have to go start playing. So you're gonna play the PC verse and you've got you've got down ready to go fantastic. Just wait waiting for all these cables and stuff. I'm sure you know we'll talk about Saints RO some more later, but yeah, maybe it's more justify, but yeah, I'm on. I was as big as skeptic as any you're you're on teams the first the moment brand came out, I say, hey, you need God damn.

It's yeah, it's nice to be excited about a game like thoughts and just like no, it's there's someone out there that's just going balls out like that, just like you know, we're not trying to be out. Games is art what like, No, you're making games in the middle of nowhere of Champagne, Illinois. I went to school there for four years, so I feel your volition. So they're not going on down there. This like this all makes what I think Saints RO. The third is games is art.

It's it is they are embracing the form. But every video game, yeah that is accurate that I will give you to like totally one hundred percent is a video game. I love that they're like no, no concern about pretense or like, how is this gonna be? Like, no, we're I really feel like they're making the game they want to make there and all, and it makes like Red Fashion Armygeddon like way more excusable of Like, yeah, that was not so great, but there was someone was working on this

at the same time, so right, I can understand why. Went like, I don't know, We're just gonna strip out all the open world stuff and Red Faction. We can get a game out while you guys work on this Game of the Year content. Right, yeah, you gotta yeah, you gotta feel bad. Oh, we're aliens in a cave over here. All right, just give us some of your Mars stuff. We'll see if we can fit it in somewhere. I don't know. You guys don't even have a design document. It's just a pile of code. It's not on

your drop box. That's probably not a good place to keep that. I don't want to go play Saints co Op. I need I need to go back and do so. Yeah, we're doing that on team Last week was super f Is it normal? Is it just like normal story or is it so you can get Hord mode as well, but it's, uh, yeah, whatever do you have to do all the mission? Because I saw it, like in the stats it says like co op missions, so there aren't

anything separate. It's I think he's just counting what missions you did cooperatively. Right when we played, I was on a character that I had already done all the missions that we were doing, so I didn't get any like forward moving on that stuff. But it just instances in the leveled Yeah, whoever's hosting it's there, it's their version of the world. I can still go

and like take missions and do all that stuff. But I guess someone was sa someone on the boards complaining that he kept joining random co off games and he kept getting into games where the people had entered or had purchased all the cheat codes and we're driving out with that stuff turned on, which then as soon as you join, it's like you're not gonna get any achievements or you

know, any any real progress here. You can't save, so it's like you're not getting to buy all those Yeah, well, there's an ad cheap option in there where you can just type in stuff, so I assume there must be right, But they sold like a five buck because a three dollar pack that gave you all the all the cheat codes and disabled achievements, which which I figured. I thought that maybe this game would be like, yeah, turn on the chee coods you and still get whatever you want. We

don't care because it's just so carefree about everything else. It wasn't that hard to do. Yeah, probably, yeah, yeah, I could see Microsoft Microsoft fun killers that they are. Uh we'll swish. Yeah, what else you're playing? Uh, dude? I played Minecraft for iOS. Oh time of games. Okay, I played Rocket Riot for for iPad. If you played that, I played that on the Xbox. Oh, it was an Xbox game, wasn't And it was a Windows phone game like to that.

That's where I played, but I can't remember I played before. It was a Windows phone games without analog sticks. It's well, I paid. It's okay because you have the fake analog sticks and they did a pretty good job. I did it on on with it on his phone. I think it's just like but with a bigger screen. That's probably a lot more doable. With the bigger screen you can shoot rockets more effectively. And it's is this crazy game. I'd really like the look of it. I think it's it's

got a great soundtrack. Yeah, uh, that's a big thing. Whatever. I load up a mobile game and it has virtual controls on the screen, immediately delete it on the phone. I do that on the iPad. I'm okay. It depends whether it's a precise game or not precise game. It's not an experience that I want to have just ever. It's never especially in the case of Rocket Riot, where there is a great Xbox Flight Arcade version. I haven't there an arcade game that I'm gonna go download that.

Yeah it's a hell of a game. Yeah yeah, never mind. Then, yeah, that was what I brought to the table. As usual. I'm gonna go back to not min maxing and Skyrim because that's that's the thing I have a hard time with, is not min maxing. Yeah, Like I always did the whole thing where you like, you look at the best armor and you say, okay, I should do light armor, and then stealth is obviously kind of overpowered, and I would like I did this for

Oblivion. I did it for Fallout, and I ended up like getting super pumped up in Honey rifles and Fallout rifles or whatever, and fall Out, So then that game got real easy by the time I was at the end, and I'm it seems like less of an issue in sky It is less of an issue in Skyrim so far, but like I've been intentionally making decisions that don't end up with me. Yeah, I mean yeah, yeah, Fallout ends up becoming just this chore of a combat game because you're just you.

It's a headshot to everything because you've invested that many skills into to that, and it's just it's useless to do anything but that. But it's also a cape walk like it's just not it's boring, but it's started being boring. Yeah, and then that's why it's insted of a pure adventure game at that point because of combat to like Skyrom doesn't have that. So Skyrom does

not have that problem. Like if fall if you could default to having decent shooting mechanics that didn't involve VS, then that would have made it at least somewhat meaningful. But in Oblivion you could end up in the same boat where you overpowered your character to the point that you were just stelting around and one shotting everything and it kind of wasn't any fun. Anymore. So that's that's

the point I just kind of hit in Skyrim now. It does now that I'm now that I'm sneak sixty yeah, and have my one hand up relatively high as well, I'm just kind of backstabbing everything roll. I mean, I'm using a mace, but it's it's given me the yeah, the six

times damage or whatever it is for sneak attacks. So as long as I am careful, and it's gotten a lot easier to be careful over the last like two or three hours, where I've gotten sneak up pretty high, I can just stealth my way through full areas and you know, eventually I get spotted and then I just I can still beat the crap out of anything that

comes at me. But yeah, I p I put like eight hours into the game on Sunday, so I'm like thirty five hours in now, and it's I'm sure there'll be some some suffer stuff later on, at least I hope so, but I've definitely got to that point where just by playing and I've kind of change my character, you know, multiple times along the way, but just by kind of playing the game how I want to play it, and putting perks in the things that I'm doing. It's gotten to it's

sort of gotten to that point. So I ended up building a heavy armor build just so I could go toe to toe with stuff because I never ever do that in games, and it's been it's been a different kind of combat experience. I wish that the melee combat was a little bit better in that game just in general, but I kind of also don't care because it's it's still pretty awesome. But yeah, that's what I've been doing. I truly

had the whole notion. I don't know if you guys guys have all seen this, but someone on the Giant Bomb forms has come up with a build for a Kagete melee fighter that wasn't just a build that was a screed.

Yeah, that guy made an impassioned argument basically like that. It's my understanding the way he pitches it, like there is not a explicit like melee skill path or anything like that, but he was able to find, like the base character where you put these stats, there's a couple of there's a couple of perks the pertain, but it's but it's basically it's it's not like there's

a full tree. It's sort of like he found a couple of these perks and a few pieces of equipment so that you could be unarmed at all times and fucking fight dragons, and he made it sound so goddamn appealing. I want to punch dragons to death. Yeah, being a fucking catman that punches dragons to death like that. I mean that doesn't like I don't even have to sell it much more than that. We're talking about Saints ro could be,

could Bee could be. Oh my god, the additional types. You guys need to keep doing side missions even though you finished the game, because the additional types of gang members, like the different oh really keep coming and they get awesome. All right, yes they get awesome. You get you're right awesome er. But I was I was so convinced I was going to do this. This casey fucking dragon punchers got into it started like the character creator thing, and I was like, no, I want to. I

want to play this the way like I want to. I want to play to the fiction, not just to the like the meta game play. Playing a Nord is the way to fit into that that kind of narrative. Backg I think the elf gives you a special place that in that world like everybody like I didn't. Yeah, it was like my my My thought was like

I don't want to just be like random outsider. Like if I have some sort of hit, you know, racial stakes, like some sort of ties to the region, I imagine that will then and like immediately upon choosing Nord, like the dialogue options start flowing with all of this kind of incidental stuff about it, like oh, you're a Nord, this is your land and and this and that. So I hope that that continues to pay off. It seems like I picked Imperial and yeah, a lot of stuff too,

except they're just like fuck you. Yeah, yeah, there's a lot of like, oh, you're a long way from home, Imperial. Well. The thing, the thing I was surprised at is I expected them to like try to court me, to get them to join their side, whether the Order the imperial, and they don't. They just they as imperials will do that and not really the imp Well, I might have killed some imperios early on and kind of pissed them off about my overall behavior. Weird, Yeah,

I know, who would have thought, did you? Guys? See we were talking about this before the podcast, that there are crude renderings of and paths two places like marrow Wind in the world like these hype maps all the way out right, like you can if you console command yourself outside like there if you follow the to the edge of the Skyrone world, like there are structures set up for you to leave to go somewhere, and then if if you hack your way into it, like there are crude structures of the

other worlds in the Elder Scrolls universe, like volcanoes like have important fictionals. Well, it's like the why why are they? I mean, at this point, I'm pretty convinced it's just there so that the map looks good when you zoom all the way out. But still it's the same way that like all of the map is actually polygonal and representative of the world, not just an interpretation, but it's it seems like it's built out to a pretty high

level of detail. Yeah, it's also operation packs that send you tomorrow win. I think I think that I think that's getting too excited. I mean that would be awesome, yes, and that also that would be awesome, and they would also kind of solve some of the issues that as the games had with DLC, where it's like you have this like a random cave that opens up that takes you to this new world like they were already built in paths. Yeah, like that would be a cool fictional way of them incorporating

the DLC. I mean, part of this game kind of feels like an ad for the inevitable MO, right, like all the faction stuff, which I don't know how, I haven't finished the I don't know's I want to

play that with friends. I want to get people and go through the comments immediately going to be I mean the comments already, like you know, has its issues, but like once you smash that into an MMO, like I don't want an MMO, but people talking about like wanting to go on some missions co op, Like yeah, I see feel of that, Like some of those boss fights would be really good co op. But I don't know if you've noticed, but kind of the the age of the MMO I believe

has passed us in that format. I want. I want a persistent world that I can save. I want Freelancer with this game. I mean, like if that the Freelancer multiplayer, I want this kind of game with that kind of must like like a Borderland style set up, it would be okay, well, I mean that basically was Fallout meets Borderlands, you know sort of. I guess that does the quest structure plus Borderland's co op stuff like

that could work. But but like you know, go collect twenty troll skulls for me and then do it again like no things, No, I just I just Quest system already feeds you stuff like that. Yeah yeah not not not with that level of repetition. Yeah, like it's bring me ten fire salts of that. But they're also you can filter out all that stuff, whereas in an MO that is like potatoes is are those horrible question? I think? I mean, if they can scale out what they do in these

games two an MMO, yeah, that's fantastic. That just sounds like a real tall order, like generating that much content and then having someone blast through it. Yeah, because like, isn't this, I mean really isn't this? What Old Republic is trying to do is like trying to trying to create

a single player RPG and an MO universe. And you know what I've heard about that game is not well like the thing I think Old Republic is based around, like the notions of all these different careers and and the stories that come with them. It's almost like they're saying, like, dude, you're gonna have to create one character for each one of these to see all the story we wrote for you, just like constantly investing in your one character. Yeah, like, yeah, but I don't know that's the end game.

I've never been a person who's who's rolled a bunch of aults in MMOs, and granted I haven't played a ton of them, but like, I want to create my guy and have my guy. I'd be the baddest ass version of my guy possible, but within reason, because I'm not crazy. But you're a dude that plays an MO and a lot of other games too.

Like the people who are playing an EMO and just play that MMO will level something up to sixty, and then when they get tired of rating all the time, then they'll start they'll start doing more and more and more of their characters. Yeah, yeah, I guess so, but I don't. I don't believe that's a sustainable audience. I mean, those people are all playing Wow, and then just like every expansion just to have to add like three more full stories I don't know, and yeah, I don't know. I

just want to go through dungeons in Skyrim with like two other people. Yeah, I'm okay if they Yeah, co op would be cool though, and I don't need that in MMO, Like, I would be fine if there was built in fair enough multiplayer structure to this is already doing. And I think it's pretty clear how they could probably do that. I don't think that's

impossible. They'd have to add some sort of targeting mechanism. Yeah, but what if they ended up with some sort of like almost Fable like system where you just saw silhouettes or some sort of indicator that there were other people in that part of the world, so you could get your you know, okay,

I gonna play callup with friends. But then if you're in an area and needed people or dark souls like pulls people in, like when you like you're getting ready to go fight a boss, yeah, you maybe spawn people and yourself. Like, hey, you know, if I'm if I'm signing up for a quest and there are other people that are signed up online group us, as long as they don't actually handle it the way that Fable two or three handle Yeah, exactly, Yeah, there's just an idea. I

don't see why these games needed any of that. Like all the fest RPGs have their own identity. I just like that that that like solitary, wide eyed, like the exploration of the world is kind of like central to what makes these You're right about that too, Like I think that that's that is a really big part of it. But at the same time, you should be it should should be an easier way to show off the ship I've done to people, like maybe they should build an armory. Yeah, if you

should be able to show your character off online or something like that. Yeah, but think about this. Think about if there is like a point in the story where like kind of the core narrative turns where like you having someone with you the entire time would be kind of crazy. But if you're in this adventure, that's you know, getting renown or getting you know, more

involved in whatever sort of intrigue is happening. Like at a point like all right, I hit this level or I hit this event in the story, now I can have what if the whole Civil what if the whole Civil War was just multiplayer? That actually that actually sounds awesome, But I'll tell you why I'm so apprehensive about it is because they have just now with this game,

like barely gotten it right. Yeah. Sure, they have been working towards this point for fifteen years and they finally fucking hit it out of the part. This game is awesome, but I don't know that they could juggle all that extra stuff this soon and get it right, because it's like Skyron doesn't really like solve a lot of the weaknesses of that the Eldest Scroll series. It just does the strength so much better that you it kind of balances

out the things that it's never done really right. The stuff that was really badly broken about Oblivion fall Out, though, has been fixed for the most part, like the like all the weird dupe bugs that we're in Oblivion that basically ruined the economy in that game and let you cheat wildly out of control, like almost punished you for not cheating. Now you just click cabbage and cheese wheels, really cheese wheel it was I'm gonna the Internet. Dude collected

all of the cheese wheels, all of them. What he claims is all of theres a lot of cheese wheels, and he filled up a house with them, and so there's this house just absolutely filled with cheese. You should you should go check out the Skyrim subreddit because it's full of nothing but screen shots. Like you can just go to reddit. Yeah, yeah, there's like there which is new. There is a games and gamings. Well there's a form because it's just awesome. It's like a devoted skyrom one. Now

just up stuff. But like people all kinds of Like, somebody posted a picture of two dragons playing catch with a mammoth like manmoth like flying back and forth through the air between these two dragons. I love this game. Apparently a dragons sleep like you can find sleeping dragons. If your sneak is high enough, you can sneak up on him and like one shot him. Oh dude, some guy backstabbed the sleeping dragon and like it apparently just barely missed

one shotting it by like a slipper. So we just hit it again and it died. I'm doing that. I'm gonna do that. That's that's my new goal. That's another another guy. I thought you would know a skyron. No, I did not think of the sky. I saw another guy with a sword. He was showing off the he had smithed up to over

nine hundred damage. Wow, can you get the legendary ones without I don't know, Smith, I don't know this was a legendary because I've seen some of the legendary ones where it's yeah, like take off you know, forty points of magica and half stam on it, like like what you can stack on on on it? Like that seems like it would be a really fun thing to do. Maybe as you're the quest are starting to to lower, is to maybe focus on and you can Can you stack enchantments? There's a

perk for it. The final perk is to enchantments parriems chanting one hundred. I think it is the end of the So once you chant something, can you take that enchantment off or you have to destroy the destroy the item and you can't You can't smith chin chanted items unless you get blacksmithing. Yeah,

that's one of the points. It's like like like I can get you can put a fine onto regular items, but you can't like fine craft any and you starting to kind of run out of perks in in the combat schools and in the magic schools that I really want. So I'm starting to think that

I might just get into enchanting, smithing and alchemy. Yeah, that kind of I mean that seems like right, that seems right, Like it seems like looking at the heavy armor and the one handed in the magic, the destruction magic stuff, I'm gonna run out of stuff before too much longer. And I'm only like level twenty twenty would be done. Never I never found if my alchemy has gotten up pretty high just because I keep making potions all

the time. So it's it's already so fall because you went, you meant you went more melee class, right, Yeah, yeah, easy magic as much. Okay, But I mean I switched to healing to to heal up, and I find I finally got to forty, so now I can regain stamina. But that changes everything with melee combat. Interesting. I finally I saw a good breakdown of why I gave up on destruction magic, because there's like a there's a regimented tiered system about when you get access to the next

level of spells. Okay, it's uh, it's it's on the even number five. If this guy is accurate, it's five skill under the next perk. So it's like the perk four you know, take half magic for like, say, what is it masterli this? Yeah, so like five five skill below where you get that perk is where those spells become available at all. So okay, so it's not like you're meeting a sorcerer that has those right tons. It's just they'll just appear like got it. Almost. I

got bored of Destruction Magic because I was never seeing any new spells. But it was because I wasn't using enough destruction magic. You have to keep skilling up to see that stuff. And do you have to use the current level of Destruction magic in order to skill up? Like do you have to use the fire bolt instead of the flame to skill up? Or is it just it's probably a sliding scale, but I think they all do it. I would imagine that anything that expends magic is gonna yeah, proportional. You might

just be getting more if you using fireball. I know it only works if you're fighting something that's appropriate level, like if you're going out and fighting like yard tradules or whatever. But but yeah, I've been putting points. I've been buying the upgrade points in Destruction Magic because it's so hard to level,

which I don't know if that's a good idea or not. But you know, I mean, people, I have so much gold now that I've been I've been training five times for a level just for the hell of it. People have said that if you max out destruction, like you would just absolutely decimate everything in the game. Okay, So Kessler's a video up on YouTube of like there's the quest to get like the the final Destruction spells and stuff,

and that stuff looks like it totally smokes dudes. Yeah, should I finish the main story quest before I push on into like the Thieves Guild if you feel any urgency to see how it plays out and if you want some pretty decent shouts and stuff, Yeah, does it change in the world or not really at all? Like the dragons are still around there. There's some kind of like subtle things it'll change, but nothing that's going to dramatically alter

your path. I finished the Thieves Guild, Okay, I've been through that stuff. You know, what's actually interesting about the story is that some cool side quests spawn off of it. Like as you're going through the steps of the main story towards the end, like weird little random side quests pop up that are optional cool. That stuff seems neat. I'm hearing that that Thieves Guild is the is the Dark Brotherhood of Skyrim. Yeah, there's some cool stuff in it. Yeah, but I I I would say that I liked

the things you did in Dark Dark Brotherhood and Oblivion more. I haven't done too much Dark Brotherhood stuff in Skyrim yet. But if that's if people are saying that's the best thing in that game, and that's maybe sort of a bummer, Like it's it's cool, but it's not just what was the murder mystery question, Tobli, It was part of that was part of brother He kind of things like Skyrom maybe has an overall better quest quality, but maybe not the same highs as maybe not. Yeah, I think that's fair.

Patrick Levick, Hey, what's up? And we talked about all the games, Saints Rose, Skyrom, Sorry, played some more, play some more Skywoard Sword. Yeah, but I already beat that someone else play season was gonna play the Scarboard Sword and he kept saying he was gonna play it. I'm gonna play it after the play sound like crazy person. When we were when we were at the store this morning picking up you thought about the wrestling

game. I was looking at it, go like I kind of thought about two and then went, well, and you were also thinking about SATs screed and I was like, yeah, it might be a good like January game, like once you've gotten all the big ones off your stack and things are slowing down before we get to stuff in February March. I might a jerk for wanting to play that on Dolphin, but there's a lot of issues looking at those screenshots. Man, it's sure it is tempting. Here's a lot

of issues. I was reading up on it. It's less looking at those screenshots and more looking at the actual screenshots. That doesn't for me. I was just like, you get over it real fast. I'm sure it looks fine. I mean, yeah, I watched you play it when we did

that quick look. I think that that is a good looking game. You know, it's hard to look at It's hard to go from something running into an ADP, especially with you guys with PCs with your TVs, to drop down to four ADP and just look like, oh just everything, every texture is everything looks so I mean, I know, I trust I Trustintendo to make a good looking game on the art style just looks fantastic. Yeah, I mean that's the thing, like you just you just get over it,

like you just forget about it both Mario Galaxies. At no point that was I ever brought down by the fact and that the same. It's where you look at it and you're like, man, this would look great NHD, but I'm not thinking about that while I'm playing it, screening it. Yeah, it's still it still looks phenomenal. That is. That is how I'm playing sky Room on the three sixty with it installed. It's just like it

looks fine, looks That's why I stopped playing it. I was just like, I haven't looked at a lot of the comparison shots, and I don't know. I want to get I want to get through that game on three sixty because I've already put in so many hours on it so that I can start a PC character. I just I just haven't I haven't installed. I deleted by Oh you really know? Yeah, that's I mean, supposedly, I'll take I will take my load hits at this point. Supposed supposedly loads,

the loads get better as it catches to the hard drive. And if you don't know and if you don't know the difference. If you haven't experienced the loads with the install, then you can't know what you're missing. And it'll look good. And then at one point when the patch comes out, I'll get an incredible spot load times. I mean it's not it's only like a week away at this point, but side by side it is a pretty

profound difference. Yeah, but then you know, Jeff on the other end, you'll get the visual exactly play Holy shit, this game looks amazing. I already kind of feel that way, okay. Or you could pull the weirdest jack move in the history of the Xbox and bust open your safe file and move it over to the PC. I like I did. I mean, oh, you didn't know about this, No, dude, I did it. Post story fantastic. Yeah, it's you gotta use some appreciating.

You got to babble in some black but you basically put on your USB thumb drive and then yeah, once you do that, the file that you pull out of there, you don't have to hex edit or anything. You change the extension on the format and dump it into your PCs. Oh, I love you directly, and I just picked right back up on the PC. It was. It was surreal. This is a brilliant move on their part

because it lets him sell two copies of the game. I figured to anybody who who's like fuck manh yeah, like I pause for a second, it was a brilliant move. The game would have a built in export to our website function. Okay, yeah, that's some weird thing like that next version. I wondered if we would get in a heat for running that new story, and I was like, that is not gonna care. They might, you might sell game, but also once it goes off version like that,

stuff stops working. So the window, that's what you're saying, Well, you would always be able to go back, like you can delete the patches under three six, you can delete the patches on your PCs, like it will become more difficult, especially the PC build number was higher than my ex was still works okay, but the saves wall was be forward compatible because I'm not gonna scrap everybody, but going from newer saves back to newer version older

probably wouldn't probably work. That makes sense. So Sky, have you played Raymond? Yeah, it's great. I'm waiting. I'm waiting for my copy shop and I just devour that because it is well worth sixty dollars. I was looking at because Gina and I like play co op platformers together and went through like New Supre Brothers and Little Big Planets and all that stuff. A little bit it's a little bit tougher than there's a little more hardcore platform and

going on in Raymond Origins. Once you get to the fifth area, like which is where the challenge really ramps up, but it has the same bubble mechanic from New Super Brothers, so you kind of just you can play through if she's having trouble. To say, the platform is more sophisticated, but it's less chaotic because it doesn't have the same like jumping on top of each

other. You guys didn't get far enough, like you once you get to some of the later areas, like it was starting at the point where Katie wasn't able to keep up, and it just wasn't like it wasn't just like, oh I can't get past the section. It's like this whole stage is beyond beyond my comprehension as a player. Was a finite number, a lot lives or anything that really holds your back. It's just a matter of like we crossed a threshold where it was just she couldn't enomore for it to be

fun. It wasn't just like this sequence is tough, you go ahead and do it. Not catch up. She's floating through the whole level in the Yeah, and she was just getting hit all the time. So it could be different depending on her skill level. But it was around the time where we hit these fire stages that it was just like, hey, I guess, I guess we're not gonna play this together anymore. They do they do ac release game or I didn't see that. That's a case where it doesn't.

It runs in tenadio. You guys need wives League, Wives League. Gina and Katie they can play a man together. There you go. I think Leah and and Gina play Mario Kart together. I don't even know how that happens on the Wii. It's kind online, no, I know, but I'm just amazed that they were because actually getting the WE online at all, And yeah, it's not that hard to get the WE online. It's

a settings thing and you punch in the sixteen digit code. No, but this is just no, no, no, no, you understanding this is more will being amazed because they're women. No no, no, no, no no, because I'm saying when that is exactly a damning women, it's like, wow, that surprised. Turn it on, back it up. Let me hear some more about this. Yeah, if I don't even know how to open an executable there, it's just like an executable? What is

that? What's that? It's like an executable but pronounced different? Is it? Is it French? I don't have any idea. I don't know why. I probably accentable. You know, are you the executor of a will? And then you, guys, do you remember, I mean, do you remember what it was like before there was video on the internet and you didn't know how to pronounce anything. I knew that it was fucking gift and Jim. You're you're saying both of them. I stand by gift, gift,

fun. I don't care what the creator say. It's gift and Jim. Jim is a right, you're half right. It's given gi jiff a peanut butter. It is also that is also correct. Also g hard, g emails. Graphics, yeah, graphics, graphs, graphics, ganim, damn it? Graphs all right? If you want to bait. Start a giraffe based image format and call it giraffics, and then we can have jiffs. Okay, but only then, I'm on it. I got it. These naked women sure have long necks. Only if that's what they have to

make. JIFF stand for all the pictures interlace interleave for format format. Yeah, I think it's it's a graphics interchange interchange what they mean change? You can make anime tweet systems and yeah, yeah, I can dragging fucking car actually, I mean I have to have just don't know how to do it. It's easy. You can do it in Photoshop. Now. You just drag a video in, select the clip you want and boom, we're done with Photoshop. We're all pixel yesterday, pixelat Yeah, I use Photoshop stops.

You upgraded the Lion thirty dollars? Uh sure? Yeah. Also also I just use uh just web services okay, yeah, picnic and a picnic is okay. There's another one that's image cropping. It's the job done. It is exactly as much image editor as you need to crop and color balance and image. I guess you can't color balance in preview, right, No, yeah you can. It's it's rudimentary, but you can. Uh there

you go. I just the for me the cropping is is there a way to do it like with specific dimensions in preview or is it just I don't think so. Yeah, so like like that's is. Can I can strain the aspect ratio of this crop? Yes? That is? You know.

I actually actually made like an automator script to do it all through a right click, so literally still right click on a folder and it just goes like to be able to get in there and tinker downsize a bunch of images to six forty three sixty fat faster you can, so you look at split. Nice. But I still bought Pixilatory Split. Hello, how's gone? We have also talked about most of the games I've been playing. Alright, but let me tell you about track Manny two. Let me tell you about Warlords.

Yeah, the hottest new game. It's it's it's twenty eleven's nineteen eighty game of the year. Yeah, all we have to talk all we can talk about our great games of the past and some of the games that are coming out that's it in the relative near future. So yeah, we bought a Warlords machine. You bought. I bought a Warlords machine. I helped you get it. Yeah, looted in my track. We now have an office Warlords machine. And I've already lost five dollars, already lost five dollars

to you've only you've only begun to pay. I've only played one in the hole. Yeah, I've already I'm not five hundred and five dollars in the whole on. This Warlords machine is still have a great discount, I would say. And this machine is tied into the twisted web of my arcade machine history as well. Thanks to the wonderful Stevelyn. Yeah, big shout out to Steve Lynn for getting us a really great condition Warlords machine, helping us

broke through the deal with the guy who owned it. Getting it looks like it's brand new. It's it's in really strong shape. They recap the monitor, cleaned it up some it. Uh the screen looks yeah, it's dusty, but it's no rats. There's no rats. There was an initially freak out. Yeah, great four player cocktail, but it but it lifts so according to Steve, so I can see how you would do this. There's like a metal frame on the outside, but actually that that the actual cabinet

sits on. So there's like bolts connecting the metal frame to the you know, particle board or whatever the actual cab is made out of. And according to Steve Lynn, I could see how you could do this. You can actually lift it up so that you could play that game at a standing position. Oh yes, now that sounds like a good way to ruin a world's knock it over because it's yeah, although yeah, ultimately though, I like playing My Warlord sitting down, so it's no no real purpose for for that

anyway. But just when we first got it, there was a good freak out where we uh you know, it was on the ground floor where we

got it. It was easy to move with two people from the back of my Explorer, you know, drove over super careful, you know, took it out right next to the freight elevator so we didn't have to like travel far, you know, took it over, plugged it in, and immediately, uh like bad rom errors or fuck, it was working fine, like actually turned on and tested it before we took it out of its initial location.

It's like, oh god, damn it just that little tiny bit of movement and now it's fucking I was like, oh, Jeff just bought himself a five hundred dollars fucking headache. I started thinking about all the stuff that Vinney has been through with two Machine, and I was like, oh no, poor Benny. And I just kind of expected that to happen, because it's the sort of thing when you when you move a lot of these machines, like it's that's that's usually enough, that's what's why when you get to

California extreme. Yeah, as soon as it opens, half stuffs broken, it's like, oh god, we just moved it, so shouldn't have done that. But all he had to do was was kind of push on some ROMs, do a little rom receding board out, push on it okay, and works fine. It's war Lords. War Lords is super fun. Yeah it is. I think it's easy to not know how much fun Warlords is. Warlords is one of those games. When I was a kid and would go to arcades, I always saw like the old guys sitting in the corner

of drinking beer and and and gambling. I guess right accurate, And I was afraid, so I never went over there because it looks scary. But my arcade. It did not serve alcohol, so there weren't only anyone drinking. It wasn't anyone drinking around it. But also not a lot of people play the Warlords machine that when when the arcade I went to had one. But it's you know, it's a game you need you need a full house

to play, yeah, to really enjoy. Yeah, well if you don't, if you don't have the full four players, it's just not quite as fun because the AI is kind of a dick. I can see that, Yeah, because you know it's perfect mathematically, Yeah, how would you even program decent AI for a game like that? You just decide, like you have to. You have to have it make decisions about where it should be. And then once you have more multiple fireballs, it has multiple decisions about

where to be. And also you govern the speed and at which it will rotate. So like I couldn't get there. Hmm. It seems hard to make interesting. Yeah, it definitely. Yeah, that's a hard thing. So yeah, so better to play with with dudes. But Warlords twenty elevens nineteen eighty Game of the Year, it's pretty it's pretty awesome. Yeah, pretty stoked about it. I'll play Warlords. Yeah, that come out in nineteen eighty. Yeah. It's old ass game. Yeah. Uh, impressed

with that it still works. Impressed with that any arcade machine still works exactly. Yeah. Uh. And then we went we went off to see some EA Sports stuff we did last week. Last week, you played NFL Blitz. Yes, I played a bunch of NFL Blitz. Uh, like walked into that thing, sat down, you know, I kind of said hi

to a few people. Uh, sat down, played a bunch of NFL Blitz, and then the event was over, and I was like, oh, I guess we gotta go never never interrupted once during yours sitting there and play it a shipload actually, Like by the end of it, I was like, I should find someone who worked on this game and talk to them about that. They're too busy, like breaking down banners, putting everyone's leaving. I just event space. They turned the house lights on. Yeah,

all the chicken sticks like night. It was like eight o'clock. Okay, it was like eight when they ended. Yeah. So NFL Blitz for Xbox lab ar Kaden was the version they had coming in January. It seems pretty good. Okay, I was your promised. This was saying, if you don't know already, Jeff is pretty crazy for blitz. Yeah you want to contest, I did. Yeah, So I have a Blitz ninety nine machine in my house from winning these tournaments, and I have a trophy from winning

the first Dreamcast tournament they had on it the following year. Okay, so I I might, you know, like whatever, everyone's probably way out of practice now, and you know, it's it's hard to know and all that stuff, But I'm I feel pretty confident in saying that at one point I was the world's greatest Blitz ninety nine player. I can see that. I've seen you play Blitz. That that that's but you do not feel that necessarily gives you like design decision carte blanche. No, absolutely not no, because

it's because I have I have weird so I don't like football. Also, that's the that's the twist on this story is that he's amazing at blitz, owns a Blitz machine, do not care about actual football at all. But you know, it's the same way that like you didn't have to love basketball to play NBA jam Yeah, uh, you know, NFL Blitz is a little bit harder to pick up. Than jam. But you know, like once you get to that point, you know it's more it's it's it's a

fast moving, real time strategy game. Okay, so you do like a four nine seven post pool, Yeah exactly, should be a new yeah moime FM, so you know it all it became all about like knowing what the plays look like, or the different formations look like. And for the most part, in Blitz ninety nine, you know they would have for for some of the trickier plays, there were three plays that had the exact same formation, so you'd have to know like which one of these three plays is going

to be. So it became a kind of a guessing game. Okay, so you know which which guy you have to knock over right at the line to bust up that play? Got it? So it's all about kind of like making calculated decisions and out of the corner of your eye watching which play there picking defensive plays. At the same time, you're only picking safe cover because that's the one that puts players near receivers in such a way that, uh you can switch to that player and dive on that receiver as the ball

is heading his way. Got it? Uh, So break the game a little bit, so say exactly like it, but at the same time, the beast way to play blitz is not to play it like football. Yeah, so what is the remote number one thing? So beating safe cover once players get to that that high of a level where they're going to bust up that play every time is knowing where in the routes the players have pre programmed

spins and speed boosts and stuff. So you know, if you hit the guy on the route at this point, even if the guy dives at him, he's mid spin, so the die is probably gonna go right through that player and and timing issues. Yeah, so so that was the offensive counter

to like high level safecover defense. Is that what you feel that it was built into the game or that was just discovered by high level players that broke the game and then had to find ways to know that stuff's built in because when they added the play editor, they actually added like you could put a spin here, and you can do this when you're making your own plays. So clearly they you know they when they designed their own plays, they must

have meant this to be the way to go. And you know the spin is invincible, but if you do it too many times in a play, you're gonna fumble as soon as you get touched, you know. That's that's how they counter, you know how they kind of keep the spin from being too crazy a meter that governs that, or do you just have to develop a sense for how many times there's too many? It's more than once per

play. For me, was always too many. If you're spending twice in a play, you are you are playing with fire, and not in the good you're on fire kind of way. He's heating up, yes, is heating up. He is constant constantly. So yeah, Blitz ninety nine is awesome. It's it's probably one of my favorite games of all time. So I've been really curious for the past like year however long it's Yeah, I

guess it's actually right about now. It's been about a year since since I heard that they were making a new NFL Blitz and kind of would hear little updates on it here and there over the past years, like, Okay, they're doing this, the engines, the running sixty hurts, the stuff going on, like you know it kind of little bits and pieces as it's been developed, and so I'm very excited to finally play it, and it's really

close. And the change, some of the changes they're making seem like changes to make it a more balanced game for people who aren't crazy, and and in some ways maybe make it a slightly more football the sort of game. So like the spin has collision on it now, like guys will when guys run into the spin, they will, you know, there's an animation for them, not it's being off off or something like that. But it's still invincible. It is not really no, it's it's it's not the same type

of it's not the same type of it's invincible. You'll still run into cases where if you're timing your spin just right, three guys go flying and there's an achievement in the game for you know, knocking a bunch of dudes over with with that sort of thing. But the timing on it is totally different, you know, it's it's uh, it's a very different move than than

it used to be. In some cases, the stiff arm is now more effective for dealing with one on one sort of situations because you can just jab that thing out there and and stick guys with it like you could before. But usually you would spin and hope that that gets everybody out of your way so you can kind of, you know, get over the sidelines and jump out before you fumble. They've got a lot of the old plays in the game, but a lot of them run differently, and this is this it's

stuff that again like that kind of doesn't matter to anyone but me. Yeah, and like a hand you know, the the handful of people that that have. But again, you know, Blitz is a popular game. I guess like that's the thing, is like not caring about football is I have zero sense, Like I played all my Blitz kind of in a bubble away from you know, a lot of typical kind of arcade scenarios. Though I thought for long and hard for a while about going out and starting to hustle

people at Blitz. That seems like a dark pack whenever we go to California stream we kept talking about but no one ever plays it. Like I always think like I'm just gonna spend a day hanging out by the Blitz machine and challenging people like that walk by like you me, let's go. But there's no one's no one's there to play games from the late nineties, people there to play pinball and stuff like that. So warlords like and Warlords yeah,

just never materialize this but Blitz cash games. See. So we were having the like after this event, we were having this conversation Jeff, the notion like like as as a known personality, as someone who has opinions about games publicly, and as someone that is you know, knowledgeable about Blitz, It's like there is this impulse of the people that make these games of like, well, you know, we you know, you're a big fan, You're you know, a very visible person that talks about Blitz. We want your

your input on this. And because of the level on which you were playing Blitz, it's not really my feedback is not necessarily for the game. Yeah, because my feedback would be like, if you're gonna make people play defense and actually pick more than one play, you're breaking Blitz. But that's ridiculous. Yeah. So that was the thing, like like in the later years at Midway, like when Craig, Yeah, I was over there and they were working on I guess let's the least let's pro. Let's pro. Yes.

I remember going down to San Diego and and and seeing the game for the first time, and there's a lot of like, so what do you think, what do you think? I'm like, I don't know, man, there are more players in the field. That doesn't I don't know, like making it a more realistic football game doesn't doesn't. Well, there's no appeal for me. That's the thing is is you can't say it doesn't make

it better. It's like it's not what I want exactly, but what I want is so what I want is Splitz ninety nine and done, Like I have it. I have it, so you know that's it's It was always kind of this weird, this weird process with that stuff and and yeah, so playing this game, they were definitely like I started taking notes at one point while I was playing it, which I almost never do because there were

there were like specific things that were kind of making me crazy. And the more I've the more I've thought about it since playing the game, Like, I guess that does make sense in a we need to make a modern game sort of way. But yeah, I'm curious, would you have been happier

the notes? Would you Would you have been happier if they had just poured Blitz ninety nine and made an HD kind of Yeah, we usually that game is Blitz ninety nine, Like there's there in spots it doesn't you know what it is is there's no there is no color correction, there's no like filters, Like it has that hard sharp like midway late nineties arcade look where it was like fucking polygons, Like we're not trying to soften this and give it

a sense of like you're at a real place like mistiness in the airs. Like no, everything is sharp and in focus all the time. As as as a complete outsider, this seems like better way to create some like genuine

excitement around the new Blitz. Yeah, like if they had just made a Blitz ninety nine in HD, like everybody would have played it for a week or two and then so yeah, you know, well all the people either you're going to play it enough to like get crazy hooked on it and pick up on all the weird nuance that you're you're you don't see immediately or not.

I feel like the changes they're making are probably probably pretty smart in a lot of cases, but there's some stuff that seem feels like it could go

either way. So like this one, some of the backs break for the line of scrimmage too early on on plays as a play called split backs where you have two guys kind of ring off the side while one guy goes out, and that was the play where he used to be able to like pitch it back to one guy behind the line of scrimmage, then he immediately throws it to the other guy that's also behind the line of scrimmage, and then

pass it up field to the receiver that's gone out. And in Blitz ninety nine it was less useful than it wasn't original Blitz because well, I think a lot of people just got better at the game at that point, so that sort of misdirection shit just stopped working at one point. But when you were throwing three passes in one play, initially it was just like I don't

even know where the ball is going. I can't what's going on. And also you're passing off screen, you'll have like a receiver off screen while it happens. So with the game being sixteen by nine, now that that happens a little less, but also so but in this case, as soon as you pitch it to that first guy, he breaks for the line and crosses the line of scrimmage, which is a completely different play at that point, it's way less useful and kind of bump me out, Uh spith feel a

little weak. There's I mean, it's hard to know if this is even a final version of the game. It's it's pretty close. It's probably real close to submission. But again, these are just the notes I took. Jump pass animation is weird. So it's got jump passes in it, but if you and a lot of the animation seems a little weird, like speed wise, like the game seems like it's running like maybe a little bit slower than than Blitz does, and I need to like look at him side by

side to actually know for sure. But there are a lot of cases where like the timing of jump pass is a pretty much a pop bop sort of button thing. But in this like the jump animation as seem as you hit it, it takes a little while for him to get up into the air, and if you hit pass while he is just starting the jump, the animation locks him back down to the ground, which sounds like a really good

way to get tackled while you're passing. Yeah, but again I haven't done it with intense pressure from another player, so maybe it doesn't actually cause a problem. The dive auto targets the ball carrier you spilled it to. The idea is that at the start of a play you would dive on one of the receivers to try to bust up that play, especially if it was the receiver you knew was going to be open at some point later in his route. So the dive now will auto target the quarterback as soon as you hit

it. So if you're just holding down and push the dive button, he'll dive diagonally because he'll he'll be aiming at the quarterback. There's a push you

can use, and that's still kind of that that doesn't auto target. So the ideas are supposed to push those guys down now, which the push was in the older games too, was just not necessarily as immediate and as devastating as the dive was, so that that's probably a good change because it makes it you less likely to just bust up every single play right before it starts.

Double tapping for spin is on one of the analog triggers on the three sixty, and it's just not responsive enough to to get the spin out when you need it. Yeah, I mean, you know, like the when you pitched one of your backs and stay behind the line, he'll slide instead of instead of diest Like really, like this is really crazy stuff. If these are the issues of that, that like, what's what I'm saying? The games game seems pretty good. Games pretty sounds like Blitz. But I

like football and I like crazy shit that happens on video games. Is gonna be a fun game for me. There's like Blitz. There's not an I never got into it. There's not like NAJM, not like Blitz. I don't not like Blitz. It's just not like I never It was at a time when I wasn't going to darcade. Sure, all the crazy shit has been taken out by the NFL. No, no late hits. The tackles seem pretty basic and no wrestling moves and you're you're taking out They had stomp

stuff, hosts, post scores. That's all the NFL. Yeah, yeah, that's the NFL, you know, demanding those changes and trying to prevent kids from getting conclusion image like it was in the game, Like there's this specific game that had all that stuff in it, and then the NFL said no, and they and the NFL can do that, Yeah, which is you know the problem midway ran into that. You know, the NFL started getting rid of They're like, we need to keep making these games, so

we need to keep making them crazier. Yeah, I would not let them. And and late hits like that's kind of been the focus of a lot of stories. People go like, oh, I can't believe it doesn't have light hits. Like yeah, but you're too busy skipping back to the play select screen to mess around with the late hits. It's that the tackles that end the play. Yeah, I am. It's the tackles that end play

is don't look as crazy anymore, And that's that's a negative. You want you want a guy to get hit by two guys and then flip through the air and land on it. Yea, you see some I saw some of that stuff while I was playing it, but it's it all looks a little cleaner, is it? Like physics? See, like are they okay? So it's not like there's some weird stuff where like when defenders sometimes they'll jump to catch a pass and go down on their back. And I saw a

lot more plays ending that way. It seemed like the transition from like going through that animation to catch a pass to getting back on your feet was way faster in old Blitz, whereas now there's plenty of opportunities for players to just run up and end the play by just getting close to that player while he's down, And that didn't seem outstanding. But the core of it's there. I mean, you know, it's it's that point and shoot passing that the

original Arcade game had. Like it, it seems like it'll be pretty easy to pick up and play. They've added some buttons to it. It's not just three buttons like the old game was. It's it's it's very similar to what they did with the new NBA jams, Like they added buttons where it made sense to split up commands and stuff like that. But they do have two control options in there. There's like Blitz and there's Arcade, and Arcade just kind of makes it a little bit easier to do a couple of moves.

Is this going to be like an Arcade download or games on demand download that this is an our Kid download, so this will be like fifteen bucks. And they've added a bunch of different modes. They've got like a Ladder Mode. They've got a mode where you're you're building a team from packs of cards, but it looks like you're not actually buying those packs of cards like FIFA Ultimate Team or anything like that. So hopefully not part of the phishing

scam that continues to play exactly. Have you if you heard any rumblings about like people's accounts being locked down, like their Xbox Live profiles and not because of FIFA stuff, Well, because in general being hacked, like the recovery process when you have to go through Xbox support is apparently just got awful. They're very backed up, they're there. Yeah, like there are people in like on day sixty or seventy of not having access to their Xbox Live profile.

That is more common than in mind blow it should be. But it looks like there's no actual exploit or weird weird end around that people are using to hack that stuff like that was that was the big conspiracy sociary that because

so many of them were tied to FIFA. You know, there was this kind of angry mob forming like this has to be EA's fault, and I guess the only thing is it's e's fault for creating a thing where you can buy cards with points, because that's inspiring people to go out and hack all

these accounts and masks, regardless of the in road. Like they're like, that's just or they're pulling these passwords those other hacks like the Battlefield Heroes hack or the you know, like all these other hacks that got people passwords. You know, I mean when everything is tied to that log in, all your purchases and your GLC and achievements and everything save games. Like not being able to use that stuff, that's so bad. That doesn't suck. It's

bad. So I like Blitz and the weird things about it are gonna always be weird to me. But it's it's one of those situations where like, at some point you just you've gotten so close to one specific game and so obsessive about the minutia of that specific game. It's good that you can recognize

that. It's that your feelings aren't reasonable about certain things about Blitz. Yeah, yeah, that it's not something that you can relate to many other Oh you know, we'll get but but I'm getting Vince Brody and rym Donald in here, and you guys can can talk to out we should set that up. Yeah, it because but the last thing I would say is the game

feels slightly slower, and that's that's Uh. Was there significant speed increases year over a year for for blids so much they could see that being a serious that would just that would pep up a little bit. Yeah, I mean like that was always that was always like the finding game thing is, they would just be like, oh, we added another level of turbo to to this stuff, because you guys have been playing this game so long that why

not make it a little faster that. Yeah, maybe they did do a little bit of that stuff, but they gotta give themselves analog stick, you have to. It's it's I mean even the arcade game used forty nine way joysticks. OK. So it was the sort of thing where and that's what broke like the PC version of that game is is the PC version of that game was perfect to the Arcade game in a lot of ways except for that one that broke it because the control just wasn't good enough a lot of ways.

Yeah, since Star used to forty nine joyst is it is that forty nine ways like instead of eight ways? Or is that forty nine ways? Meaning that there's different depth in no. No eight Okay, why not fifty items like a weird number to forty eight and zero? Yeah? Oh really? Yeah? Okay that the middle of the middle is is that odd number? Yeah, it's crazy, that's a position. So while you were playing Blitz, I was getting introduced to the new Ssex game, which, yeah,

which I was a second only two. I'll say, Sean Cohon's in this office. H huge ssex fan. Uh, the original Tricky three is my is my jam. S Sex three is absolutely my game though. That's that's probably one of my all time favorite PS two games. Last one. That's where you differ from Coon's right, because he's more of a trick. He loves three loves. The game was the last on tour. Wasn't that was a WE game? Right? No? That was no? No, no, no, there was a WE one. It was Sex High Descent

or something. No, no, their deadly just senses what they were calling this game. But no, it's just sex the Sea. Yeah, there were no valves to take out of it, so it's still just s SX what's that sx l R s sxler Yeah. Say my new microblogging platform based on Snowboarding hosted by Adam Sessler. I would use that, totally, use that totally. Yeah, absolutely, God damn it, I can't remember now,

you fuck up anyway. Anyway, what the game? The goddamn weaver doesn't own a copy of it. Fact checking over here, I wish you would see it didn't sound right because I'm like, no, that's another game. Yea. Yeah, So it's been a really long time since I played in any sex games. When I went and sat down with it, so you know, did a couple of different events and couldn't couldn't get my head around, I was like, I don't remember enough about how exactly as a

sex handles. It was kind of Tony Hockey, right, like no tricks, so we gets triggers and press buttons. That's accurate of like you use your boost. It was. It was not the trick system was not like Tony Hawk. I I see, I want to think that I remember. It's because Tony Hawk was good. It's sex was never good. It's that's that's the difference for me. It's a fair enough. It's a simplification of

the aerial stuff, like the half pipe stuff. Yeah, there's a similarity there of like you're holding a direction because you want to do a spin while

you're also doing a grab. And if you hold like each of the four, it was like there was a grab button and there was a whole there was a four of the shoulders gave you grabs, and you could hold combinations of shoulder buttons to get different kinds of grabs, and you could use one of the face buttons to do boost and that would make you do the tricks face you could the right stick, and then when you landed huge tricks, uh, you would then get your uber meter full, and then then you

would have like unlimited boost for a short period of time, and then you

could pull off specific kinds of tricks that you couldn't do otherwise. And there's some you know, some some rail grinding and stuff, which so I actually went and after playing as Sex at this event and being like this seems okay, but I really can't recall how this stacks up, uh, And talking to the guy from the team that was that was demoing the game for me, uh, you know, he's he said some things that that made me feel good of like yeah, we're you know, we're are like you look

pretty and later out their source of inspiration was more as Sex three than Tricky. I'm like, okay, cool, And there were things in the game that kind of backed that up. There's sparkly inness to the snow. They're going a lot more kind of you know, it's it's not more about the open mountains and not these finely kind of crafted courses that you're racing down, which is tricky was much more about those those kind of yeah, yeah exactly.

And there's and there's a there's a fair amount of that in three as well, but there's also kind of the open feral mountains. So is it more of a racing game than a tricking game or is it? What's the thing is Sex has always been a racing game mostly, but you had to trick in order to do the race exactly, so they they maintained that balance. It's the specifics of like I can't recall was there were there AI racers in when you play? Okay, see when I play, did it was

just solo on the mountains. Well, there's there's stuff like that event wise, like uh, and the new stuff they're adding, like the Deadly Descent stuff where it's basically it's a lot more survival oriented of like you have a life bar and there are things on this map that can fuck you up, so don't die, and also like there's a lot they've they've introduced a rewind feature, which in certain events you have limited access to. In other ones

you can do it so many times you want. It's just like if you do that in a race, everyone else is still moving forward while you are rewinding out of the hole that you fell into. So it seems like they may have even just like done that instead of allowing you to reset, like reset out of a bad position. Does it have split screen multiplayer and that kind of stuff? Is still a couch game? What this is a couch game? As sex it's concil consoles. Yeah, it's it's bats couch game.

Well but is it? Is it a game that you can play two people on the same couch. That was a little bit of like Peter Maine there for a second council? Am I the only one? I was thinking about executables? Again? Probably do you? Probably not? Probably not? I know it's possible, but probably not. This is not a finish This is not a finished build of the game. It's coming out well, wow, it's a long way off. It's February, not that long as you

say February. You said February, I did deliberately. I know s X three is still really good, you guys. What mostly what I learned from this because I went back and it was like, all right, it's been so long, I actually need to go and play some Sex three because my memories of it are amazing. And of course it does not look as good as I remember it, but it still looks pretty decent end and it's backwards compatible and it controls, it controls well. Still, what do you think

that looks such a long hiatus? Uh, they've been trying to figure out how to make this game for a while. Yeah, I think I think that's kind of road rash, where it's like they keep making prototypes and it just never gets off the ground. Because because they did Blur for the Wei and it was I was an on starter well like after three they did on tour, which on tour isn't bad. It actually had some cool uh like

stylistic touches that I enjoyed. But uh, as I was probably on the original, Uh yeah that that game had some cool stuff going on in it, but it was it was not I guess as essential as Tricky or or three was. But yeah, that after Blur, I think kind of, you know, killed interest in it for a while. Any remember there was just that like extreme sports saturation of just like five. No, I don't want to wakeboard, I don't want to surf. What about a Raisor scooter.

I don't want to ride a Disney Razor scooter? Longboards game, but inline, inline, in line Disney Simpsons was so good that game. That game was good. It was awesome. I really like that game. Pretty good. No, no, whatever, that was pretty talent. Yeah, that was pretty like these stream sports games, what if they got sex streams, skate course trashing one of the best soundtracks and the keyest one two bad games. Rand Session. That game had a made xis right session. No,

no, no, yeah, grind Session. That was crazy. It's early. There's early skateboarding games were bizarre. But back before Tony Hawk one was out and it was Thrasher and Tony Hawk one, I was backing Thrasher was going into going out of that. E three was like it was awesome, Like yeah, it had a much more realistic like it was way more punishing, like yeah, yeah, oh yeah, the landing stuff. But my friends and I got super into the game because it was really rewarding when

you would pull off anything. It was kind of like an early you know, predecessor to like Skate or something where it's like there are these two tracks and Tony Hawk just one out, yeah, and like that that's just where the genre went. Yeah. Well no, that was my first three and I played both of those and I was like, yeah, yeah, Tony Hawk. I need to play more Tony Hawk. When it come, when can I play this game? We I have this inside of me. I

used I used to love Tenadi Forstance for two. I love developed snowboarding game. I see the game was great. I think I think I just don't like snowboarding games that much. We don't have it's it just it's it's I mean, it's a different thing when you start. Honestly, it was never that successful even for Activision when they when they tried to do the snowboarding games, because it's it's a different discipline, it's a it's a different kind of

skill set. Well, and there's two different kinds of games too, because there's the racing game and then there's the tricking game. And like that sect a pretty good job of melding him. But like the Hampton were racing games, that's the sorry, more tricking game. At least AMP three AM three is the only snowboarding game that I will say yes too, but not because of the snowboarding. No, it's not res are though it's okay, it has skiing and MP three two right then, but they've got two like it's

never they changed developers. No, that was changed. No, they didn't change developers. It was the developer just when it went from Microsoft to two K. But it was the same developer. Yeah, and then the developer went crazy. As I just say, like, no one cares about SnO over to game. They just will help. They went for broke, Yeah, yeah, they it was it was their saints for the third. They had nothing left to lose. God, I hope that doesn't mean the volitions

going out of business. I was just about to say, you should play three. Have you never played? I played? Okay? Good, I never played him three? What I haven't either? Well, you could just go watch the quick look we put up like all the cut scenes, because that's the part you want to see the best part. It's the only one that came out on three sixty right and on the two Xbox YEP, it was a Lunch Launches. It was a Launch Launches. Okay, it wasn't

it was that was one of the original launch titles. Best Launch Game, Best launch Game. I don't know, Man, Cameo, I was gonna say, can Actually I might say Project Gotham probably Project Probably mean my best launch game, or actually, Challenge re Wars is the best three sixty I bought a three six Geometry Wars forgot from amped to Cameo zero. Cameo was

never it was never the best cameo was fine. Were talking about Peter Moore gets very upset when you bring up cameos, right, me and him, We're getting tattoos stipped cameo s. There are multiple control schemes in News, some of which are meant to be more like skate uh so they're they're trying to incorporate some of that stuff and maybe draw people in that are familiar with that style of gameplay. I want to see more of it. I'm not convinced one way or the other. Promising, Yeah, optimistic, I am.

I'm gonna be optimistic about it. I feel like those guys kind of know what they're doing. They kind of know like some of the very specific, like small detail things that that you need in an SSX game to to really work. So it's been long enough for extreme sports to have some sort of I don't think they were going to be what they were kind of like, you know, maybe based music games, but like there's a there's a role for them. I think it's been long enough people are willing to give

him a chance. Again. You know, this is not an annualized franchise kind of thing. It's not gonna be a phenomenon like it used to be. But there is a place for these games. Uh. I wish somebody would make an HD remake of Tony Hawk pro Skater two, three or three. I'd take either of those. Yeah, it should be both in one package. Yeah, it should be the two. I would play both of those games a lot. Again, that would be cool. Yeah, it's such a good time. There should just Yeah, it's just be a downloadle

thing. And they sell every single level from every single Tony Hawk game to you as DLC and at school Yard level you actually have to go to the store and you have to buy the little fingers into the store and put those power Ye wasn't that for the wakeboarding game or one of those actively did sell, like that peripheral you're talking about, No, No, No Two, which was not the Kelly Kelly Slater was the Activision one just was take two

Koe Craze had featuring Koe did have featuring Da Woo. But that's a skateboarding game that was not snowboard. Yeah, but it still have the same snap onto the analog sticks thing. Oh it did that on under a skateboard and you snapped it over the two analog sticks and theoretically you put two fingers on their controller and put it that way. And it didn't work for ship It didn't. Yeah, you didn't. That's not how you actually played the game.

But yan Ya Kabalista featuring Ga Woo, that's one of that's like Koe Mash, that's like out there with O you mean City Skater, No, No, I mean Young It's like that. And I remember the year Eddy three when it was that and Guitaroo Man where the fucking Koe Booth and Koe Booth was fucking awesome. Koe's finest here. They haven't had they haven't hit it like that sense. No, it was just like, you guys are fucking out of your mind. Names look crazy and I want to play more

of them all times and never picked up what was the h Yeah? What was the Criterion developed fucking hubboard games? Trick style? Tricks style? That was all right? What were you talking about? Sex? Sex? So, Brad, what have you been playing? Yeah? Brad, what's up is that it? Ye? Did you want to talk about school girls? Oh? Yeah, yeah, it really brought skull girls through here. Played a little bit of that. But the fighting game, yes, yeah,

school game like really cool art style. Many skulls. I don't know there's like many, like eight girls though, I see they all have one you can throw around. Yeah, it was exactly. Yeah, one of the characters you can take her head off and kind of throw it around and use that to get on either side of a guy. Is it one skull per girl? There might be like two girls one skulls situation here and there, But I don't really know, really, Chocolate ice Cream Games, they haven't

revealed all the characters, so it's hard to say for sure. Yeah, I mean they're going for that kind of like Capcom versus game sort of level of of craziness and they used by mix soft serve got it, m M, what's up? But I don't know ice cream at one thirty. I've still never seen them. It is I've still I've still never seen them. No, I've never seen me either. It's it's not so bad, way worse I've seen. I've seen Women Party, I haven't seen that. You've

never seen Lemon Party. Whatever Lemon Party is just that's team Lemon Party is old school video. There are no animals in that video at all. That's sure, mister hands. That girl looks a heavy. It's the eel one. I regret bringing the one I've seen the gift of that. I thought that the vomit stuff was way worse than Yeah, it's all Honestly, it's into your own I guess anyone's gonna have their own the own thing where they reached the limit Chuck Yeager style test pilot. But for online porn video,

I don't think. I think that's where I black out. That's the one I think I had to delete this entire directory. I think I think I think Tough Girl was about eight g's for me, that was what I was by the time that I'd already seen so much stuff that was way worse than that. That just bare that was barely even a blip. Yeah, it was like I went the other way. It's I didn't become tougher. I

became more fragile. I was like, I can't where it became this this test pilot like thing is is I got tougher and tougher and tougher, and then once it broke, it broke bad. You can't do whatever again. Yeah. Yeah, Now it's just like I'm not going to keep these videos around to show to people when they ask me what the Internet is? Anyone ever asked? Not anymore, So you know, they learned their less Yeah, they learned their lesson. And when you go to Jeff's house, don't

don't ask about that. It just it didn't have anything to do with with you know, people becoming more familiar with the Internet overall on the Internet. Oh you need to see this, they just know, they just know don't have internet. Jeff, I got this director CNN all the time and check this video out slash Internet just the banking and I have these animated gifts. I want you to see Internet five dot MPG. You want to see something really fucked up. Yeah, six dot w m V the internet, seven

dot ASF. The gross out stuff was one thing, but it was like it was the extreme violence and malice that I couldn't handle at some point, like the like the checheny and soldier thing, and like there's there's just some new heading video. Yeah, I never like there's some like drug cartel stuff floating around recently, and I just like I can't even approach that. You

don't don't mean cartel. If you ever want to be reminded the video games have not desensitized you, then feel free to go look at that stuff. That turns out. It turns out games have and doutch shit to you, like like actual, actual, like rank you in humanity. And like just when we were talking about that horse Tanton woman the other day and everybody one looked at We're like, oh my god. The whole office like universally rejectedly

see it. I didn't I google it because I didn't know. I didn't don't know, don't I didn't go too until together based on what you guys were saying on Twitter, because you weren't given the full picture for obvious reasons. The place I ended up thankfully blurred out everything but the lady's face. Yeah, I got enough. I got enough context from that. But I was like, all right, there were a lot of different colors in their

school Girls seems pretty cool. You're welcome, Peter Barthelow. You know those board developments, they're like, oh, he goes through the job podcast. Yeah, around around one. Oh no. The interesting thing about school Girls for me, they showed a little bits and pieces of five Stars. It sounds amazing. I really can't wait to see it. You guys did a bang up jobs some of the training and kind of tutorial stuff. That stuff

seems really interesting. Twining game similar to non Japanese Evolve, similar to Marvel versus Capcom two in some ways. See That's why I wanted you to take this demo, because I saw the game a few months ago, and like, you know, I played it and appreciated it and whatever. Yeah, like I needed somebody to translated into layman speech, like exactly what it was. Like. I know what a fighting game is, but I want to

know what kind of fighting game, you know? Tag. Basically, they have the ratio system from like Capcom First s K, where you can kind of pick like a level three version of a character or three level ones or two and a one, you know, depending how you want to go. So so it's not always TAG necessarily. You can't have exactly. You can have a more powerful solo character if that's how you want to roll, and more powerful means they hit harder and they have more health or yeah, they

have more health for sure. I don't know about the hitting harder will. To put it in context, the reason I was interested but also intimidated by this game is that there's like some kind of tournament level EVO type people working on it. Okay, so so it's a scary hardcore game. Yeah,

it seems like they're kind of positioning. Yeah, I think that's going to ultimately be the crowded appeals to. But at the same time, this tutorial thing has the if done right, it has the opportunity to open up an audience not only to that game, but to fighting games in general, because some of the stuff there, you know, there's a lot of place order

texts. But it was like, this is gonna be the tutorial that teaches you what a hit confirm is and just like kind of going through like here's what no TG is here fighting theory as opposed to fighting mechanic, Like, it's just here's what this game does within the fighting. It's not just it's not just a list of moves and says like this is a combo, now do it. It's it's like here's Yeah, it might actually try to teach you theory and block, but I don't know shit about watching frames and and

hit confirms and all those scary stuff that you like. And I barely have a handle. I know just enough about fighting games at this point to be dangerous to myself where I try to do too much and lose all the time. And it's a it's a bad spot to be in because it's like I'm better than a lot of the people that kind of casually care about fighting games that played Street Fighter back in the day, but you get me in against the people that are actually still serious about those games, and I just gotta

eating up every time. Yeah, And it's this, yeah totally. So it's and and what you're describing, though, is the thing that has been missing from like literally every single one of these games. It's been part of this since Street Fighter four and since like kind of fight games kind of came back this resurgence, like this is what is needed to move this forward.

It's not enough to have you know, here's a website devoted to fighting game is where this community gathers and says racist things to each other, Like it needs to be something that actually can invite new players in and help them understand why these games mattered so much back in the nineties and why do some people they still matter now And if they get this mode right, this could be the game that does it well because interesting, and then strip it off and

then everyone should steal it for every fighting game. Everybody should check out this game that's pretty cost exactly, like can use it to understand what this genre really is all about, like right around with the trainer wheels on, well, so you figure everything out. And then and then the character design, like the stuff that's specific to the game, like the I really like the character designed. It seems like it control's pretty well. And then all that

sort of stuff. At some point it's too much for me, even because the Versus games was where I kind of broke and just went like this is too I nope, do not want to understand how Marvel versus Capcom two is played. It is too crazy. How many how many screens can you jump? Some characters can double jump, some can't. But it's not necessarily about like rocketing super high up into the sky for your air combos and that sort of stuff like the Marvel games. So it's a little more I was gonna

say, based in reality, but it's it's not. It's definitely not based on reality. Down to Earth, yeah, a little more down earth literally. How's the as the animation? Great? Yeah, yeah, a lot of frames, like, yeah, they're really nice. Look at stuff they put up some videos of the like just the man hours going into that stuff, and it's just like insane thousands of frames of hand drawn stuff. I

think. I think that's probably why they're gonna have like eight characters, and you know it's but they're they're doing their best to make all those characters super different. And yeah, it sounds really interesting from from it plays well, and it sounds a string from the things that they have left to do on it. It's come out next year. I mean if yeah, what you're

describing that is literally the gap. That's the like I can't like I could pick up Street Fight or four and go through like the moves list stuff. Yeah, but but like all of these games, learning anything makes some big assumptions about what you know about fighting games, even like to a certain degree, MK, like that's a much more approachable game than a lot of these other ones. Yeah, but even still, it's like I'm not sure, I don't I don't know how it's it's it's why and when are the things

that don't get ever get touched in fighting game tutorials? Yeah, why do I need? Yeah? Yeah, so if if they can, if they can really teach that stuff, I think that'll that'll go a long way to making their game more accessible to a wider audience because uh and I think without that stuff, it'll be a game that appeals to like the the kind of

existing fighting game community probably just fine. But like some tutorials, like one of them was like a different like like basic in advanced and like expert like blocking mechanisms, so like it would said up like a certain amount of frames that you have to block between upper and lower, so you get a better understanding of like it's not just a matter of blocking, it's a matter of

blocking and anticipating. Knowing what the mix ups look like is a big part of it, so, you know, wouldn't you end up getting really good at a fighting game not only know your character, you have to know every character because you have to know what's coming at you and how to deal with it. When when you're looking at like Super Street Fighter four where there's sixty five characters, is something ridiculous. It's just that it's like, I'm never

gonna get that, Like I have d's into that. Yeah, yeah, I think it's uh, not just with this game, but I think it's exciting to see people go out and take a stab at taking this like like this genre that is confined to like a sixty dollars retail space and moving it into like a fifteen dollars downloadle and also a very small number of franchises.

Yeah, it's well, like like some people tried it a few months or maybe a year ago with granted, and maybe it didn't work out so well that like there were some call of duty style like military multiplayer shoot right, but you normally would see as an as a component of a sixty dollars disc game, right, And like seeing games like that, even if they don't work out, seeing somebody make an attempt at at bringing that to a smaller scale. It seems neat all. Right, Brad, what's up? I

don't know since sitting here any games playing you want to talking about? Uh? In terms of big boy games? I like probably talking more about the games I wish I was playing. It's like Saints, ye, what about not about little A lot of a lot of like indie games on Steam lately.

Whatever reason why we gotta do our IGF stuff too? Yeah, dude, I gotta get started a lot of games to play and evaluate anything to to recommend on the things that it's It's kind of always the thing whenever you like hidden gems, these these indie games and the small downloada bulls and stuff. Just like there's just so goddamn many, like even just going where to start. I wouldn't call him hidden necessarily because Steam has been promoting the hell

out of them. They do. But it's like there's one of these or there's like, you know, three of these everywhere, there's a lot. That's the thing. It's and and just from at a glance, like there's no way to tell if any of this is And it's a lot of stuff that's been coming to consoles too, and it just makes its way to Steam as well, and like again, you know, it's kind of like the theme of this podcast, like a nicer looking version, you know, like

it's gonna running resolution. Yeah, Like Rochard was the big one where it was like that came out on PSN at a time when we were all super busy and I had no time to put yeah, like yeah, right when things were camping up. Yeah, but even stuff like Renegade Ops, like yeah, I mean that game looks fantastic on PC. Trying two is still coming out, really, that is in the next couple of weeks. Played

a little bit of that. Okay, gosh, I like you have not If you have not played Trying, you need to go fix that immediately. Absolutely one of the best games in the last couple of years. First Trying was three player action puzzle platform or just even gorgeous even by yourself. Did you know play I play it? Did it didn't? It didn't hook me. You got to give him the chance, so good. Love the hell out of that game. Play at three sixty controller and even by yourself,

even by yourself. Yeah, switching the different because every character had different strengths and weaknesses, but they're all totally viable in every sit If you can play two players with that, then that's a life two people. It has online co ops. Clothe is a dog ran Yeah, clothes a dog cloth could be the brute. It is because a woman, she's a bit. She's a real bitch. Ryan. I don't I don't know. Gosh damn, you are filling the viny chair real nicely over here. I don't know.

I haven't said the other word warming up to it. ABC's right. I don't know if I don't know, if trying is INDI the way that some of these games are indy, like like Rochard was made by like three dudes

who used to work at Remedy. It isn't small. I mean, it's probably just because Atlas is publishing the Maybe this real weird when I fired up last night seeing the Atlas logo on a PC game, like you don't see it all Like it's like whoa, okay, yeah, but I mean, you know, three guys break out of working on Alan Wake and go make this game Like that's Waves is basically a drum Show Wars clone that's like eight

fifty on Steam right now. Is made by one dude with with some music and a little bit of stuff from few other people, but essentially like a guy Unreal Engine. Yeah, and that's an Unreal Engine game. Yeow. Yeah, that's Sideway New York game. It's maybe a little shaky on the PC, but it's cool that they got it out. Like just a lot of a lot of like just a lot of good small time stuff. Coming today, relaunched Cave Story. It's called Cave Story plus PC and Mac with

like Steam integration. What is that? It's not the three D stuff plus No, it's it's basically just like an even more enhanced version of the we version which had the enhanced sprites, which has a new boss. Is now the time to play? I have not stor that would be the time to play? They finally finish it. This is the ultimate, Yeah, because that guy's moving on. They need to make a cave store too. Guy said he's gonna go do that, so that that's probably happening. This is

like the ultimate version. This is like the the high Rose HD version of the remake made for we Wear. That's all with like Steam achievements and everything like that. So this is the version to finally play. I didn't play side by side, but the actual three D version on the three DS seemed like it maybe lost some responsiveness. I think the two D one in the high roses don't play that probably the best one to play. This is the version to play. Okay, uh yeah, and Minecraft is done? Yeah

that's anyone, anyone going back to Minecraft? Anyone. I played it for ten minutes on Fridays, still didn't get it. I should probably go update my client, right, you just you just just log into the existing client and it was just automatically upgrade. To one point, I've changed PCs since the last time I played minecrafts aren't even have anything. I don't even I'd have to go recover my past work. It's really I did the same.

It's it takes five seconds. The server is still full, like there's still people in the server. All I said, Hey, well it had come to the test in Vegas last week. Yeah, and this sounds like news to me. I don't know, I know, Okay, Well, I just want to say I have a friend who like went with his ten year old son to mind con and his kid was just losing its fucking mind the entire Yeah. Yeah. Someone wrote it at one point and suggested that fucking

Minecraft became wow without anyone realizing it. But it's like, wow, kids, I don't know if it's I don't know if it's gone that far, but yeah, it's a it's a crazy, crazy thing. Yeah, I mean you can't build a forty five story dick and wow, you can't. Well, I finished Modern war I finished Modern Warfare three last night, and that's absurd. Yeah, in a totally different kind of way. You know

that last Is it worth playing? Are what it's It's so sure that it's like I can't tell, I can't tell anymore for sure you should do it just to say you did it. I can't play it in the living room though, because the game pad and support it moves you moved through No really, no black Ops did black Eyed how the tray arch ones do? Then this is the way. This is where the tray arch ones are superior. This is so I suspect that, you know, everyone who knew how to

code that stuff in Affinity Ward is now a respawn. So it's almost like Modern Warfare three is running like on a platform civilized fork of the engine than than what because is is Battlefield three on the PC playable with the game pad at all? No, not at all. It works. No, but don't the quick time you need you need to have the keyboard mouse in front of you for the quick time starts really dumb. They may have patched that by now, I haven't. I haven't touched it in two weeks. And

it doesn't change any of the button. Yeah, so it doesn't change so specs. I didn't play any online. I only went through the story. And uh, it's it's got some cool moments. Man, you shoot so many dudes. I really can't. I can't stress enough how many dudes you shoot. I realize it is a first person shooter. You really it is the most first first shoot so many dudes in that game. Did you end

up playing it uneasy? I did? You mentioned? Yeah, because I was like, there's no difference between playing on easy and normal as far as like, you know, points or whatever. And it's not like I care about the skill experience in this. I'm here for the you know, bombast

in the spectacle, which it has in spades. But I feel like, and it's you know, it's at a certain point it's hard for me to to sort of to have any sort of objectivity on this, but I kind of feel like you can tell that the developer is not as confident as it once was, that there there are things about that game specifically, it's like it doesn't have quite the same confidence as as Cab Duty four or Modern Warfare two to have quiet moments like the like the sniper stuff and the stell stuff

in Call of Duty four, Like the way they were able to build tension and have like these really amazing moments of like a sense of player agency within a scripted event, like it was this crazy thing why moms. You just feel like maybe they ran out of time to add explosions. Well in this one, I feel like like this is not even intentional, this is just well we had eighteen months. No, you guys read what happened. The quiet moments in this one. It's it's like they're like, we can't let

this go quiet, like nobody something needs to blow up. We can't thirty seconds. Yeah, it's been too long since something crazy happened. We need to. It's like they've they've worked themselves into this corner where it's like no things have to constantly, which you know, Jeff, we were talking about this song on the commute in this morning, like it kind of makes sense.

It's World War three and it's kind before it hasn't it hasn't quite jumped off yet, so you have a quiet moment you can't you can't, you can't appreciate the explosions and the crazy because it's a great a certain point, you're just I'd rather just watch this to be scripted and me not even play because it's like, what's like, I'm just not I'm just yeah, what's my involvement? Yeah, Like it just built and build and building, and

there was no release. I think the difference with Crisis too is I didn't care about anything that was building towards, like story wise, it was just like, yeah, it was really uninteresting, Like the story just wasn't. I've with Modern Warfare the trilogy, at least they have crafted characters that you can name and go like, oh, okay, I want to see what

happens to Captain Price. Sure at this point, at this point for me, it is just Price and he has uh kind of you know, maybe it's it's just how I recall things, but he seems much more of a cartoon. Talk about this game, can we just say, like, hey, if you haven't played this game, you want to turn it off, and can we do that? I am such a person I could just leave the room. Well, I mean I can. It doesn't matter, dude,

that's the only thing that's gonna compel me to it. Okay, I said, I'm not interested in talking like specific beats, like like that's not well, it's it's just that specific beats in modern warfare three are like things are cast off that shouldn't have that should have been dealt with a lot better. You know what, I'll be back in ten minutes. Just have had it. No, No, to put your headphones back down. I'm not

gonna spend that much time talking about this. I agree there are things that are not given to the gravity that they ought to, but again, they have created this for even I mean, there are people out there that say, like, it's ridiculous that you even care about the story in these games, and you know, I get what they're saying, but like the told story, even if I had told a story even by its own rules, even by like like hey we try and you know, do these things and

and create this these connections here, like within the story or the characters or whatever, things that should have been like shock at all moments like I can't believe they did that thing had did not have that gravity at all in this game. Well that's the problem right in New La, and f you've done that, then there's no shock anymore because you've nuked La. Well it's even

less. That's just the twists when they come here, just kind of like like RL he well, I guess that's your way of And I also like Conning the franchise, and I also like I I am no longer uh smitten with the storytelling devices that modern warfare. You like the the in between, like faceless voices and like CG lasers, but they've all becomes so like the tactical displays have all become so crazy and and over the top and laser light

show. I don't feel like I'm like looking at some screen in the command room anywhere anymore. And it's hard to even tell what you should be looking at in some of those situations because it's just like a lot of weird information and there's like one British voice and then there's this other British voice and what are you going to It's like, what are you gonna do? I'm gonna kill them all and it's just like action movie cliches are just fucking falling fashion

and furious. And I think that that's that's one of the things that like it took this game coming out, I think for me to appreciate some of the things that Black Ops did. Yeah, but the storytelling device of coming back to that chair, like multiple times over the course of the game and saying like, this is this this story is primarily about this one character.

They're gonna be moments where you play as other characters, but it's only in service of filling in the gaps in this character's kind of timeline, but by and large way to come back to this chair and say, like what happened next, and this guy is gonna, you know, kind of be the centerpiece of that story. Good anchor it is. It was. It was an solid anchor for for that game, and it allowed them to jump around. So you're like, Okay, why is there suddenly this dramatic change in

theater? Oh, this is why. And the other thing about Black Ops was that that game never lost plausibility, Like there was some crazy shit that happened, but it was all secret crazy well maybe almost almost forgetting ridiculous. Yeah, And the end of that game, the very end of that game, Super America top to the very end, Yeah, top of the Black Ops campaign better than this campaign. That's kind of toss up. There are a few moments in this there are a few moments still that I still prefer

Modern Warfare two and Call of Duty four. Uh yeah, different ways. I think that is an easy call. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,

yeah, that's that's yeah exactly. It's not a real controversial, but it's but it's it's like thinking about those games and like there was some gravity, Like for there's plenty of ridiculous like you know, Machi's mo moments in Call of Duty four, but there's a gravity to the stuff that happens when they trade that they trade on when they go completely over the top in Modern Warfare two, where you're like, okay, this you know, grounded in

this other thing that that made sense, that was it was a world that I recognized. So then when you turn on its fucking head in the second one, it's like, holy shit, it's it's that much more impactful. But that connection I feel has been lost. And well, I mean all Modern Warfare three really did is like, well, I mean, we can kind of turn it up a little bit louder. We're pretty close to the top here, but let's just just a little bit. And there's some moments

in it that are amazing. There are some moments that are just like like great airplane sequences. The highlight of that game. I think, oh yeah, yeah, and uh, that is worth experiencing, like like it does some of the physics, it looks crazy. Oh yeah, yeah that stuff. Yeah, that stuff that's that's real crazy easily and the fact that you start in one place and go to the next episode, even how small the

maps are in that game. Generally, that is that that is that feels like it just as good as anything from Modern Warfare one and two in terms of pulling off a spectacle without it feeling like it's ridiculous. But you have like your jaw dropped the entire time and you're enjoying it and it's not and you're in control for most of it too. But my favorite stuff in that game, other than that moment, I forgot about that, just like you know, daytime New York, like you know, bright clear blue skies and

just this military chaos that's happening. Like they sell some of that stuff really really well the stuff that was showing like originally like it was the first like trailer stuff at E three, Like all those sequences are early game are pretty fun if it just kind of it definitely drags towards the middle and the end

exactly. I mean, because because it's always at fucking eleven, So the moment where it dies on even a little bit, it doesn't dial enough enough where it's like this feels different, just feels like why aren't I just where are the explosions happening and tapping in and it happening. It's it's it's a gameplay problem because like a lot of that stuff looks really cool, but they've built so much of it around sitting behind a turret like you're an even firing

the gun you're holding. Yeah, and a lot of this stuff it's just like, Okay, walk up with this turret you're or you're in this vehicle, so you're firing the gun you're holding, but you're not controlling anything. Like they've turned. They've turned the game at a time crisis. You know, the amount of time you spend in the passenger seat of something is significant in that game. That's unfortunate it's fine if that's what it is. It's

just a kind of the legacy of the series. You know, it's kinting, you know, how can we make sure that everyone sees the explosions? And it's like, oh, make sure that they're moving at our pace, at our speed, looking in the direction we need them to. But was all like a lot of the combat scenarios like it very seamy, Like there is this kind of this mid range almost kind of shooting gallery of like yeah, you know of the way the the you know, actual battlefields are are

laid out here. That's like yep, okay, I'm gonna go into this, you know, hide behind this cover pop out and it's it's not dynamic, but yeah, but for all it's kind of like gameplay faults, Like it's still interesting to see it through, Like I still it's enjoyable to see this ridiculous thing after ridiculous thing, and you know, it's not paced as well as the other games and all that, but it's nice to see, you know, the level of closure that they bring to it and and it's

interesting to see them wrap up their loose ends game pad support. But I don't but I no longer feel the need to keep up after this one. I'm like, okay, like I'll wait and see on on what Treyarch does because I think it's you know, they have they have the chance to shine now they could uh you know, I think, I guess is it gonna be Codblops too? Or do they know? I think they could be the next Yeah, they could be the next like lead on Call of Duty if

they I guess. I'm just I'm waiting, like black assume, who seems so assuredly going to happen like just that that seems like a good way to close out the generation, while someone I'm the way more curious to see what happens next and then sort of the Power Struggle or however actors and dules that out between Infinity Awards, Sledgehammer, Treyarch Raven is working on a thing that has been announced, So there's a lot of stuff going on with that franchise,

and I'll be curious to see what what does it? What does it look like first year on the next generation console? Is it a Call of Duty? Because that game also probably has to appear on existing consoles that year too. Somebody else, somebody else will help that, you know, like some other studio will write get called out and yeah, yeah, how much more World Wars brought back, brought back together? How much more before you shobus specifically to do their ports to the old consoles? How much more?

Like how many more games? How many? How many more call games? There already seems to be like a little bit of unrest. Seven hundred and seven five million dollars in week one, not not not enough arrest for them to But most of those people bought it. No, I mean they bought it before they played it, but they also bought fucking the money. The money happened before Ops as well. I don't think I don't think it makes like until the money, until until you see the money change, Yeah,

then activating is not going to change. Like we keep kind of moving the goal posts every year for Call of Duty, and like I feel like, as kind of commenting on it, like every year it's like the Saturday Night Live thing of like everyone just jumps on, goes this is the year it all goes to shit, guys, and and sit back and watch because it's

gonna fucking blow up here. And and you know everyone said that about Black Ops because it's like how do you follow up a Modern Warfare two that Black Ops totally beat it in sales, and now then everyone said, like, well, if people weren't satisfied with Black Ops, they're not going to go buy Modern Warfare three. Exactly, everyone showed up the money. The money is not going to change the year that people decide they're tired of it.

It's gonna be the following year. It's always gonna be plus one when black might be the year. Every year might be the year. This is this is what everyone said the Black Ops. What I'm saying is totally I have seen enough reactions that suggesting everyone said the same and they all bought Modern war The difference is my steam list is full of people not playing Modern Warfare three

this year. Yeah, everyone, everyone's looking at my xbox list. There are not people we don't matter, but none of you or your friends matter the problems you were using internet logic. By that logic, Lawrence Florence in the Machine is the number one band in the world. Wait, that's not true. I'm afraid to tell week that's not accurate, that that girl's real

angry. Yet I'm saying is it's easy to get that perspective of Yeah, the people that the groups that we run with tastemakers, Yeah, the tastemakers leaders except for in this. In this just like just like every every person needs their Xbox Live friends this to be over one hundred, Like that just doesn't matter outside of sort of ore. It's not just my friends list.

I'm looking at forums people who do like there are there are indicators that that say that maybe this is it. But I feel like that's every year. There are different indicators that we can look at and go to this is it. Well, I mean, you know it is going to be the transition in generations next time, So any of the new game Call of Duty is not going to fall from its blacks two next year. Then everyone's gonna say like, oh, you know, it's just the game. You can you

can point your finger at the ramshackleway this game got made. Yeah, And you know, like there's sort of a tepid response to the campaign experience. Maybe because of that, Yeah, maybe maybe they're back to form next year. Soil there until there is an alternative. Even if they don't like Call of Duty, they'll buy the next Call of Duty because until another developer offers something that is a superior experience. You're just gonna go back to the experience

that you like, a less battlefield at like nine million units. Like great, but that's not call of duty. That's not the call of duty numbers, and it's it's it's not the necessarily the legitimate mainstream contender that he kind of tried to position it as. I'm just saying, two years from now, Sandbags of Power. You put your Captain price figuring on the sandbags and straight into the game. There's like thirty five forty different guys you can you

can buy DLC. Can I take the Skylanders? I already have you drop them onto this thing dark? Absolutely? Yeah, all right, let's let's talk about a little news. What uh see your new dashboards coming down December the sixth for the Xbox three sixty gets your cloud Saves on? Was that two weeks? Is that cloud Saves supposed to roll out? Awesome aps? I'm only really yeah, all that stuffs part of it. Really, I'm only excited for Beacons because of the number the rich library of unplayed XBLA games

I have that that you could not find another person to play with. Hey, guys, let's play Undertow. Yeah, no whatever, everyone everyone has Undertow. That was the freezing. What I'm saying is you want to go play Wolf of the Battlefield. No, no, I do not. Come on, lets go play Wolves of the Battlefield all right. I need to get three people in that tank, get Craig and had them to play it with you. They'll they'll happily play any of the Well. Now, now

I don't have to ask anyone. I can just set up a beacon and say they fixed that health refilled glitch in that game. Don't play, don't play. Yeah. Getting into an Xbox Lide party with you guys was responsible for about fifty bucks the night that we played Age of Booty and I was like, fuck, I don't have that game either. Boom five minutes and this is dumb, Will Smith. You're taking too long. We're gonna go on to something else. Yeah, I haven't been downloaded Age of Booty before

you motherfuckers were done. We did that to Johnny a bunch too, fucking he is so angry. What you guys want to play? Time played on Age of Booty is six minutes. I think that's shout for me as well. So I play a lot more than that. It's all right, dollar for a minute. So yeah, December six, that's rolling out. Look for that cloud beacon stuff is already on Xbox dot Com. They already rolled out that that redesign there to add that stuff. So if you want to

go set beacons for games, I guess you can do it there. Regardless of what some unscrupulous folks and may have led you to believe, Hideo Kajima did not announced middle your solid five dicks. Fuck that magazine. That's all I have to say about that. I wrote. I wrote a long bitch fest in my news story. Fair enough. Yeah, there's a new story you can go and you will not beginning linked to anytime soon. No,

no Christmas popcorn for off the list. Damn that's cold. Wow. I'm gonna pour one out and give a little moment here for Gary Garcia, half of Buckner and Garcia, the songwriting joe behind pac Man Fever. He passed last week at the age of sixty three in his home in Florida. So much love to to Gary and best to Jerry. Hope everything he and his family goes well. Uh. I say this in the post because I thought

it was kind of I don't know, it'll trashy. But they have a bunch of their stuff up on Rock Band Network, so if you want to, yeah, go and see what they were about, including our song. And that's that's why I felt weird about it. Yeah, yeah, it's weird even you're saying it here. I feel weird about people. Don't. We don't get money for that or anything. We know, Yeah, this is all this is for them. It can be. It feels like kind

of mixed. STU especially the day of it was like I'm not gonna say that right here and now, so but yes, it's it's there to my understanding. The last song that they wrote together was the song they wrote for our website, which I can't Yeah, you just got to move on exactly. So it's good work. It's rock band Network. He and delicious. Yeah, it's a hell of the song of the guitar Fever is awesome. It's no do the Donkey Kong. I think it might be my favorite.

I never I I gotta listen to that. I had that whole album. I was listened to a NonStop for a good long time. Dan Houser said twenty years ago. Okay, Dan Houser said, Bully two. Yeah, he implied that is not long after we were talking about man Bully two. In the next issue, Dan Houser speaks about Bully two. I love Bully. Yeah. There was a I'm done, I'm not new news anymore.

Uh. Yeah, there's a conversation interview talking about Max pain three and he said that they had talked about doing it right after but didn't feel the passion to jump right into it, but that after Max Payn three is done that they would possibly have the resources to look at that again. So what if Max Payne was the bully kid growing up crazy? What if Dan is Link in the next game? Previous game? I would love to play a game Link turns into again. And yeah, you know, I don't want to.

I don't want to follow the time. And I'd rather another story set in high school. I'd rather differ kids, see another another kid, different spin on it, because you know that's you don't want the college year stuff, but city it's set in the eighties, college yar stuff, the skater. But I like about Bully is there's a a precociousness and a relative innocence to it. Because it's high school. You can't get that gnarly like.

I just I don't know. I think there are more rules in your restraint, even though the game was kind of off the deep end, yeah, the end when you were Yeah, it's fighting on the roof with the lightning storm. Yeah. But but like you go to college years, like I feel like it's so easy just to slip into lots of like Brett Easton ellis kind of just depravity, which is something that rock Star does like to splash around in some so I feel like, really, look, I'll take whatever

I can get. If you want to put the two in Saudi Arabia, I will play Bully two and Saudi Arabia. The tone benefited, I thought, from having to show show a little bit of restraint. If he develops a real gnarly coke problem in college, it's gonna be kind of sad.

Yeah, it make it great connection. I think that the game they end up putting out like made a lot of the people that were condemning that game before it was released look totally ridiculous, like that that that was one of my favorite parts a ship, And people like, oh, they're making Grant that's auto for kids. Now they're ruining savages horrible people, Like, no, that was right. Yeah, yeah, so it was like gant like

like why would anyone do that? Yeah, Like it makes no sense, which is why it's so like, it's awesome to have a studio that can do. They want to tell me that the the bad guy from Bully grew up to be one of the dudes from man Hunt. Yeah, I like that that I might be his rockstarre gonna start playing a nam cookee exactly connecting all their universes together. There's also a space ship and he's the guy. He's driving the dune buggy and smugglers run Tommy ver City, he runs this

space station waits the rock Star and Namco universes are bridged. Yeah, exactly, it's all one thing. Wow, finally bringing it all together, Patrick, any other smope was real worth mentioning. Other than no Middle, your solid five and yes, Bully two, the rest of the story, I should say, if if you don't read it, they're not saying like, yeah, we're working on Bully two, but like, yeah, we've considered it, and you know, maybe one possibility as we're done with all of

the ship that we're currently working on they're not ruling it out. It's not saying like, you know, there are no plans for this. It's not the typical shutdown, which is not the shutdown, and it's also not the like that is the next thing on our docket. It's like we've talked about it and we're open to doing it. People really like that game, and sure, I imagine this is a coin flip, and they're just like, it's either that or Warriors two. What do you want to do? Oh

man, a state of Emergency three? Ah, remember when that was gonna be a big thing. Say, Emergency one was really cool. I remember stated Emergency two. Yeah, like they had even divested themselves like that was Yeah, that was not them at all. Hope. The only thing Worth mentioned was just before we started this was that they announced some of the Vita launch line foot line up for Europe. Oh yeah, and announced Zipper is doing a Unit thirteen for the Vita. It's like just like a Socom game

that's not called the Socom game. But the more interesting thing is a new motor staring game called Motors from RC, which it sounds like we have reached the twist of mental small brawl portion of the generation. I think Michael mcmurders said that on Twitter, like you've reached a certain part zenith of the generation when you've gotten to RC versions of your favorite racing franchises. But what's cool about that game is that if you buy the VWA version, you get access

to the p S three version for free. If you buy the p S three version, you get access to the Vita version for free. So it's motor Starm RC on both. It's not, yes, okay, So does that mean it's a downloadable game on both? Or like, how does that work? That details are unavailable, but they're all they were saying was that when you buy one, you get access to the other, and your saves can swap between the two. It must be you can transfer them between one

games. All right, that's cool. I think I would love that first party or Sony is I guess in the best position to do it, but I would love that to become a first party standard of Yeah, teams are on both that you know what you should it should be like digital down digital copies and DVDs like these games should be are getting so close in parody gameplay wise and visual wise. And if Sony's gonna pitch it. As you're playing console games on the go, then you should be treating them as the same

thing. They have to be careful, though, because if they go down that road too deep, I'll never buy a Vita, because I would just buy the PS three versions of all those games and play them there. But at least you're buying the games, and they make the money on the games, not the hardware. True, so they may win, they may win either way. Well, theoretically I wouldn't have to buy a Vida sure, you know, if if, if it was up to me, uh yeah.

Details. So see the fact that it's starting on Motorstom Marcy is you know, maybe it won't be on every first party game, but hopefully, I mean it makes sense, like because the notion like that was the thing during all that transferring stuff that I'm like, wait, you expect people to buy both the console and the handheld version of exactly the same game, and then then I'm going and those of us lucky enough to go down that magic

road, you get to move our saves back and forth manually every time new layers of hassle. But yeah, that initial initial premise rank falls to me. So if you start creating bundles like that, especial if you start thinking like they could you could. They haven't said it, but you could easily see a way where PlayStation Plus was integrated into the Vita and the p S three and imagine if your cloud saves could just pull off of the leap.

There is that finding a way to access those saves without having to manually trans them over because at that point, you know hardcore players will use it. But I think you lose a large audience of people that would use that feature if you have to plug a USB manually. Yeah, Like I think you just if you could just cloud stuff that end, so like you just hit it just at if your Vida's on a Wi Fi point, it's just dumping it over there, or you can manually push it. I think that could

be really neat. Yeah, and then Wipeout's gonna have play between both platforms, but I don't think it's acts. Yeah, it's a little more complicated. I want to say that the twenty eight stuffs like a map pack for wipe Out of HD or something like that. Yeah, it's a little more but there will still be some way to play that content on a p S three and can you play across like, can Vita person play with the PS

three person? Do you I mean, do you think they're gonna drop the ball on this stuff when the generation shifts on the on the on the you know, the big boy consoles, I mean, the TV ones. So when they moved to PS four, like all the interconnective stuff, is that gonna like the Vita has to take off in order for that to move into the next generation of consoles, right, yeah? Probably? Yeah, yeah, they have enough time between when Sony withold theoretically launched machine that they'll know

whether the Vita is going anywhere. But okay, so it's probably too relate to tell. All right, let's move on here to some new releases. Okay, we're run along here, new releases. Thanks Will, Hey, I'm sorry. I want to talk about Sky going so well and you had to show up fault. New releases for this week, Sonic Generations for the I should mention here there's no more games, you guys. Yeah, games are done. I thought, go buy the games. They're already out.

There's a a lot of good ones out there. We've talked about some of them. He's coming out next year. I thought the Old Republic came out on the twenty second. All the game done, all the games are done, okay, games okay, yeah, song generations. Yeah for what an intend of three again, that might be all right, Tech and Hybrid, that's only are all right if the Old Sonic is presented strictly in two D and the three D Sonic is in three D techn Hybrid for the PlayStation three.

We have a quick look up of it. We do have to be I think really into tech In Yeah, because it's on that that's basically a movie. You're getting a full length CG feature called tech In Blood Vengeance, and then you are getting an HD update for Tech and Tag Tournament the first one, yeah, the first one, lunch game yeah yeah yeah, no online play or anything like that. It's just it's the PS two games and really just sling in it like upresed. Yeah, it does not look great.

And then you were getting a demo of Tech and Tag Tournament two called Tech and Tag Tournament to Prologue with four characters in crazy outfits that might not even be in the full game or something. They're like exclusive to the demo, which sounds like the dumbest thing. Ever. But I don't know what. I don't know what's really weird. Yeah, but they've and they've created trophies for this. Uh this is it costs. You have to really want to watch that movie. A lot want to watch that movie. You got

to make sense. I don't like there a lot of barriers. Yeah, check out the quick look if if you the quick look, we show both the games. Anyway, we don't have the you know, we did not show them the movie. Uh w W E twelve played a little bit of that before coming in here. You hit a wrestler with a car. I understand, yes, I can confirm confirmed you can do that. You didn't remove the most important You're going to record a quick look as soon as we're

done here. You dropped a belt on the ground. Yeah, that seemed disrespectful to you. Don't do that to the belt. But a table got pretty fucked up. Yeah. Batman Arkham City for the PC downloaded that this morning before I left for work. I saw the shot screen shots. That looks gorgeous. The new physics stuff look phys physics, Ye look good. A lot of a lot of newspapers circling round. I still I still general impression it was dust and the cape is better too. Usually I'm morally posted

that physic stuff. I'm gonna hook that up and play it on the TV. It looks, I mean it doesn't. It doesn't look integra, but it looks because it's in video. It's in videos, and video bought physics, so you have to have any video card to make that work. And if you want to play it in a video card into an ATI system,

you still can't do it because they don't make the driver's work. It's it's it's locked proprietary, but they still sell separate physics quod No, that that's how it started though, right, yeah, yeah, that was back when it was real dumb. Yeah, real really, I'm gonna get a fucking subboard. Everyone sound cards it's three hundred. Everyone bought Voodoo cards for the three D and I stopped buying all that shit years ago too, order of

dumbness. Yeah, accelerated network cards or accelerated physics cards. Network cards dumber, du yeah, I agree, way dumber. Yeah, but the physics card, remember, only like two games supported it when it came out. It was two hundred bucks two fifty, which grinned braw. It was gra gra Yeah, yeah, maybe grow too, I can't remember. I think it was Grawl one one. Yeah, right, and it didn't like did nothing that you could tell. Yeah, awesome. And then there was that

Cell Factor game that they developed themselves. Yeah that was that was a really eventually put that thing out on Arcade and on PC. Yeah. Yeah, don't play a game. No, it wasn't even really much of a game. Yeah, Like we joke about Minecraft not being a game, but this was really not a game. Uh so, Yeah, Batman's out on Yeah, I'm excited about that. I got like six games backed up now.

It seemed like it could be a good one to play a PC. And the King of Fighters thirteen for ps three and three six two we have quick quick that up. Check it out. Yeah. It combos two D fighter the dudes. The fighting part and the two D part look really good. The story stuff maybe less so, but you know it's King of Fighters. You're not coming for the story. Don't be a jerk about it. Whatever.

We're nests and hey, I have it on certain authority. I just could be wrong, but I am under the impression that Serious Sam three BFE is out this week. It is okay, is that the best Friends edition. Yeah really, I don't know. Okay, what does BFP stand for? What does bf usually stand for in games? Best friends? Yep, yeah, Brad Brad's backs, nail it down, best friends girls, that's that's what. Oh yeah, I understand. That's sorry, figure it out.

It's executive bling. That's really hard, a little slow, all right, Brad's backs. We can do emails, emails, boasts. Hold your phone up like that. I get the impressure. You're taking pictures. That's a very like trying to get fucking signal into this thing. First email, first come into town or anything. Everything goes to ship. It's like Reese Grimshaw mirror Field in West Yorkshire, England. His name is Reese. That's

how I know. He's English for no R y R. Yeah. Yeah, that's that's real shit, right, that's the ass Reese rights to know. Davies Dear Podcasts. Having played a lot of Battlefield over the years, I have to say my favorite and he spells favorite with you again. British sentiment is twenty My favorite battlefield is twenty one forty two. I know a lot of people dislike here, but mex and Future Tech are awesome and most of the change right in classes from Battlefield three happened there first. Do you

think they'd ever bring it back or will it never happen? Personally, I'd love to see Bad Company twenty one forty three. This is what this is why I'm reading this emails because I saw that. I'm like, yeld, he gave me the Bad Company attitude in a few uristic. Fucking I don't want the attitude. I want those four due. I want them forwarding time. Wait, so do they time travel or they're just inexplicably there. They

have a frozen idiocracy style there because they think it's better. It's better, don't explain why they're Yeah no, ok so it's not like they're taking their past attitudes like they're not being weuted out by anything they see. You don't want to fish out of water. Story focus is not like wow, everything's crazy here. Wait a minute, are you saying that? Because with space gold in it, we've got to steal it. You're saying Are you're saying

the B Company is like Lincoln Zelda? They just are exactly right. Yeah, yeah, they've got a timeline, but they don't like to reveal it. I don't like to be holding too. There isn't always one hundred years a b company is born Kill Metal of R two. You've just made the best that is just that? Is it? That World War One company? So after after respond puts out a sci fi FPS that takes over the world, than everybody else will start making sci fucking and then can justify creating it.

Yeah, or Bungee. Bungee might do something. They're making a game. Well, it sounds more in the movie series. We are on fucking board. We have now put that out into the universe. Smells very clean. Brian for Colorado. With the new Jurassic Park game getting tepid reviews, what would you rather or I don't know. I looked on Metacritic. It seems like people really liked it. There Want Want What would you think of another Durrassic Park trespasser game. It's the type of game I always imagine Drassic

Park to do best in. Do you think it could be a viable possibility at some point? Patrick, you and I talked a lot in the past week about Drassic Park and Drastic Park video games and how many Drastic Park video games there are close to how bad most of those Drastic Park video games are closed to buying a lot of those. You were talking about just buying a shitload of Drastic Park video games and playing I say that hopefully someone will demand

it. I shut it all out, finished that sentence. So I'm talking about trespass the park video games, throw garbage press is real hard to play? Was it? Warpaths war Path to see a new warpath? Is that when we use the dinosaurs fighting game maybe made by Dreamers interactives. I can't believe put I can't believe there are two different dinosaur fighting games. Yeah, that was them going like, man, there's no new primal rage. We got to do something, step it up and and the strategy Guy is one

hundred and thirty five dollars. Anyway, the game that was that was the weird things we started looking into this and a lot of Jurassic Park video games are extremely rare and expensive. Fifteen minutes of Jurassic Park to the story continues dress up on YouTube. The story continues, game not the Lost Worlds continues,

Kosk continues, The Kaos continues. Is that a sequel to the book, not the movie see the movie sequel to the movie, and the caical and Granted in it, I think, yeah, it's Alan Grant and made up and no made up guy has like the worst made up guy name too, And at the at the end you find Jones. It's like like Shaman

good Smith or just like like last name. That is two words that you just jammed together, Shane McShane. If you guys don't go by these games immediately following this podcast before you post it, the window on this feature closes forever. You know, you could you could play dass park games anytime anytime. You know what I would love I would love Avalanche Software to make a just cause game with dinosaurs on. You know what, you could just have

fucking Dino d l C. Yeah, for fucking just cause too. Honestly, alright, guess what they're fucking they're dragons here to be fair just cause with blank is a concert. I also really enjoyed the images that I passed round of turning Dead Island into replacing the zombies with with that melee combat that's basically that's kind of a trespassers what's your fadder enemy, like smaller delapazurus or those little yeah yeah yeah. I also, while we're talking to get on

it. We're talking about play down Drastic Parks stuff here. I'd rather see a new Call of waas set in prehistoric times. Great, so it all works exactly works, Get on it. Justin uh also writes in to say that Operation genis Jurrassic Park. Operation Genesis is his favorite Drastic Park game. Which one is that? O G. I don't know thatis. I thought that is that one of the Drastic Park three ones on. There were like ten Jurassic Parks three Drastic Part three games out there. There's just there's just

a lot of launch for Drastic Park three. For all the Drastic Park games, what was the one that had the fucking the Jeff goldboom ending on it? That is amazing? You could just you can just YouTube to say it's a Sega c D game. I think it might have been this. It might have. I don't know if it's the Segas version of the Genesis version of Jurassic Park, which is the best, like one of the better Jurassic Park games where you can actually play as a Veloci raptor. Yeah, and

then then there's the other the other good one. Well, it's good is in relative terms of the dress Park franchise is this nest one, which also has a variant on the original game Boy just top down actually adventure games like a metal gear kind of top time perspective. Yeah, I played a lot of that game on a game Boy in my Denis office. So yeah, Drassic Park games just a lot of them, how much time, A lot

of them. A lot of them seem very bad, and probably after you look those up, you should just like go look up some dub step, just Durassic Park dubstep actually whatever you're and then just connect to our trek Mania server where you can request the Jurassic Park dub step just track whatever it is that you're looking up. Now look it up with dubstep added to that term. Because after the Giant Bomb dub step, Yeah, really, it's really

good. It's actually probably my favorite one after we after it's not dub steppy enough, it's not wobble bassy enough. No, but it's pretty good. It's not the best dub step song, but it's pretty good. I think we almost drove Brad out of the office with all the dub steps. We looked up the Jurassic Bar games and then started looking up dub step and then there was three of us looking up dub step. That was proclamation. It was kind of like, hey guys, hey guys, stopped looking up dub

steps and the like. And then like Ryan and has headphones, but you can still very clearly hear the dub step. And the next morning he was in the car on his phone searching for murder. She wrote, dub step just shouting into my phone trying to use the voice like the being murder. She wrote, dub dub step was the word that they couldn't figure out. It's on that thing is heavily drop is usually really good. Search for heavy

drop. It's a little scary. I was looking for the Matlock theme, but but it turns out there's a guy who called himself Matlock who's making dope steps so hard, right, I find the voice search thing on that Windows Phone seven to be fucking awesome really most of the time. Really, I use it constantly to try it, right, I could never get it to

work but the Jurassic Park. But there's but there's occasionally you'll just a What's what's really impressive about it is that it's clearly throwing your data back to a server somewhere where it is interpolating and it's figuring out like best guesses based on that's not most of that stuff works, but it's really really like when it works, well, it's it's scary because I'll just it's it's I don't use it the way I would use like actual Google, where it's like I'm just

gonna type in a couple of keywords and go from there or that whatever. I would never use being, but it's stand out here nor there. I'm actually asking it like full questions I'm doing. I'm doing that kind of search. Why should I use being? Sorry didn't catch Yeah, I bet you didn't. I like that. Everybody yells at the phone when they do voice

searched a fucking appointment. But yeah, but on the times, but on the occasions where there's a word that it can't figure out, it just it whips hard on those like yeah, it's just like I came up with like like four words that maybe a child's hero haircut salons, like what, I don't know what even I was trying to say the first part of that sentence, why are you going to some kid's haircut? I was asking for something else. He wants to sit on a fire truck while he gets his hair

cut. Okay, okay, that's okay. I don't even tangent got bad Patrick for Madison, Wisconsin. Do you think there will ever be a w w E All Stars too? Just should be I hope there is. Yeah, it'd be nice. Yeah. That game was great, probably the best wrestling game they've done up. There was Saints for the third that's I need to play. Say that you should play? There's yeah, okay, like wrestling game. This email comes in from Mega Jessup. Hello, bomb cast.

I'm tired of regular Jessup. So no, he need ultra Jesu. Yes, ultranationalists. You need one million Jessups. One thing I didn't say, Man, if you weren't sure if Makarov was an ultra nationalist at the beginning of modern warfare three by the end, there's no question he is an ultra nationalist, the ultrast of nationalists, not even based on his actions. They let you know that he is an ultranationalist by saying ultra nationalist Makarov,

he did something bad. Story doesn't make any sense about something else. You'll have to play. I'm not even joking. I'd really bother me. But the Russian President Mega jess up here, Hello bomb Cast. My little brother ruined Christmas and told me that my mom had purchased Hulk Hogan's main event for the Xbox three sixty Connect. How do I tell her that I would much

rather receive Skyrim, but without her crying? So I bring it to the brain trust of a man who ought have Skyrim but instead has a Hulk Hogan. Just start talking about how much wrestling saw yeah, wrestling, start talking about the Connect stuff. Destroy the Connect sometimes. I mean, we put up a video making very blatant fun of that, you know, maybe to say like, oh, you should watch this video. They're making fun of

this whole Cogan game. It's hilarious. It's not that, I mean, the video is not that funny, but you know, it's so bad. I can't believe who would buy this. It's too bad because I like Hulk Cogan a lot and wrestling, but this game sure seems like some kind of

horrible joke. Also, there's no dragons in it. You guys could make a gift guide that's just like, Hey, for anybody was thinking about getting Hull Cogan Wrestling whatever for their kids, did you just get Skyrimans to tell your mom to listen to this part of the podcast, and we'll just hey, we could say something now you could edit it at the very beginning. Don't don't get your kids Hull Coogan's main event. Buy that for yourself if you hate yourself, or for other people if you hate them, or I

guess maybe maybe she hates your kid. Maybe just maybe make it make a gest your mom doesn't love you, dude. Maybe that's the thing that we're alerting. Maybe we have to break this to the dude here on the podcast. The idea of people. Yeah, for Chris, you like trolling people. Not enough people want to connect that it would work though. Yeah, that's an expensive million and now feel that I know ten. Wow, it's a lot of connects. Yeah. Also it's probably fifty bucks, right,

it's forty. I think it's a gift that keeps on giving. People would give it to way to their other friends they don't like I don't have to think about my friends. Just get them the X File soundtrack. They would they would like that though, that's true. Get them what they think is the X File soundtrack. And it's just like the Flintstone's official movie sound track. No, then it's just Jurassic Park. Does that remix? That's the

answer. No, that wouldn't work either. You know, the origin of all this stuff is my friends, So I have to go some real deep trolling in order to troll the people that usually troll. You should get that dress Park. Just just send them all like a you know, nice Christmas CD, yeah, deadly serious, just like yeah, yeah yeah. If I tried, if I was genuine, then that that would be aggravated. Maybe just sent him a ham might I recommend a little Mannheim steam Roller for

your Oh god, damn. The only Christmas CD I own is Manheim steam Roller. Yeah, you are a bad person. I heard. I heard. If you slow down Manheim steam Roller to sixteen hundredth speed, it becomes an ambient masterpiece. I bet that's amazing. That sounds pretty good. I bet that's probably awesome. I'm gonna go do that now. To everyone who

wrote in Mega jess up, sorry that your mom doesn't like you. I hate to be the one that break that to you, But if you're laughing, you have glee and your voice as you break that, you don't hate to break that. You're happy. At least it comes with a band Dana for you to wipe away your tears with. Yeah, at the realization that your mother does not care for you, can you return games that you think

Christmas you don't like it? Yeah, I mean they'll set up lines and stuff for returns, and you know if you tell them a good story, yeah, and don't open the game. Yeah, that's the key. You. You should be able to exchange it for store credit because yeah, you usually have they have like a remember it's a grace window usually there, and you have like a limit like like people used to do a lot of kids

used to do it it, uh at schools. Like Yeah, you could go to like Target, a Walmart or whatever and just like turn in, Like you'd go and buy games for on the cheap at other retail outlets, then go to Walmart or Target that would just take the games back at full price because they hadn't discounted it. But then they started getting around that by tracking that to your driver's license, so you gotta shaw driver's license. They would mark it down. You could do it three times and they didn't care

because there's last leaders anyway. So yeah, I don't think. I don't know if that's doesn't work anymos been a while. Bobcast at jambomb dot com is the email address. Thanks to everyone who wrote in and Will Smith, thank you, thanks for sitting in with us. It's been fun show. It's fun. Absolutely happy be Thanksgiving to everyone listening and everyone here on behalf of the giant Bobcast. Uh, let's see here. Happy birthday to my mom. It's her birthday. To day, Happy birthday of your mom,

Hay birthday. Well that's it. Connect Madness on Wednesday, Yeah, tomorrow in Pacific time. We're gonna got I've got like eight or nine fucking Connect games. And then like, how many of you guys are I know, Brad you're out, Brad, you're outado podcasting a like ten thirties. So we should be done like one. We'll pop in if you guys want to. I'll be drunk. It's gonna be terrible. Yeah, sweaty, everybody's real sweaty on Connect days. It's just two. He's gone, he's gone.

Yeah, yeah, didn't really. We didn't play this out for a while. Yeah, she's just another Supernintendo Day. We've already promised the next thing, and they're gonna be they'd be excited to get a supertend day. We've already played all those Supernintendo games though, so i'd have to bring in Genesis or something. So yeah, Thursday is Thanksgiving here, so no TNT this week, take a little hiatus, but we'll be back next week. We're out of the office on Friday too. It's uh uh yeah, yeah,

we Wednesday three day week. This week we are out from from Thursday through Sunday. So we'll be back next Monday and uh yeah, BombCast as usual next week and hopefully some TNT as well. By did you did you guys see that mega man art I found on the street. Yeah, with the dong with the dick on it really weird. I didn't notice until I got home either. That's weird. It's the first thing I know. I

just while you would think. Yeah, so short, short story, I was walking down street walking my dog and there was this warehouse that like they were these like it was like these people were moving in, like it looked like a place you put galleries. Yeah, but they were. They just apparently got into place where like putting up two four as like they were renovating. So they put some art in, some wood out front and said all free to take what if you want. And that's all this this like our

you know, MegaMan is like my favorite characters, like Pixar things. Don't even look at it. I just look to make sure it's free, and I look at the back. I says mega man would and I'm like, that's that's a that's a weird name. So I guess it's just on campus. Yeah, it's all right, it's on a wood block. So why

wouldn't this call wood Man? I mean it's wood Man. And so I get home and I take a picture of it, still oblivious because because I just wasn't paying you expect I'm claim it on my mind, and so I take the picture I put on. I was like, hey, take out this sweet MegaMan ard without acknowledging that there's a penis in here. We'll like a apixelated MegaMan version of penis. Hold on sold they like pixelate blurred out or is it blue extension? It's not, it's not gross. It's more

just like I put it up there. I wasn't trolling people on like hope they's see this penis. Like I come back to check their responses. It's like, why does he have a dick and I'm like, that's what are you talking about? Is like, oh oh, he's got a totally guys put in the bathroom. It's a good place for it. That's gonna do it for this week's show. We'll be back next with another disition. JAT Podcast
