There's about sin stressing rooms backstage, and you know, it's not every theater in the world, sort of those venues that you tour around to and do shows at where I immediately think to myself, you

know what, I would shower here, but this one real nice. So showers in both bathrooms in the green room, and and some very plush looking couches. I took a nap on one arlier today and that was very nice and very necessary because it has been a busy weekend. So thank you so much to all of you for making the time to join us. For anybody who doesn't know me, I'm a fIF I'm going to be your MC this evening. Try to keep some sort of semblance of order to all of this

Yeah, absolutely, just say whatever you want now. Oh cool, you didn't immediately check it for your Michael. I know, I just start talking John, that's correct. Thanks for joining us, guys. I really appreciate

It's a lot of fun. Honestly, this thing came together without me doing much work at all, and now that I'm here, it's like, wow, this is really great. Really appreciate it. It's fun to keep doing these shows. I'm glad everyone could come out and enjoy themselves, get a little tout taste of the summer game Fest. I guess I've been enjoying myself. How about you, Brad doing well? Think? I just want to say thanks for having me. I've been, of course giant bon fan since

the beginning. Yeah, life, we can finally get you on lifelong dream the austream finally. Thank you. It's cool, it's cool. I I haven't really I haven't been to an event in five years. I kind of haven't really been out. I've worked from home now, you know, right, totally things things have changed a lot. It's been nice to like come out to this and remember that people remember who I am yea honestly, No, no, no, I don't mean that a bad way. It's just

it's like you you feel it's nice. Yeah, you like working from home? You feel disconnected a little bit. Yeah, So like you three was five years ago, right, Yeah, and it's I mean you are out here and is it like still like kind of how you remember it? Is it? Has it changed a lot? I mean did you know, way more intimate obviously, but like a lot of the same people still around, you know, still that small industry it always was, right Yeah, people

go and change the jobs here. Yeah, very very heartwarming. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. So the first event in five years, was it like like I kind of want to see what it's like out there again? Or yeah? Was it just time like this all just setting in for for the three in the press conferences has been long enough, you know, and like games need to be seen. Yeah, you know, how are things going to next? Lander? Very well, very well. Thank thank you to

everybody. Absolutely, thank thank you to everybody who supports us. It's settled into an ice groove, I think, right, was it like a learning curve kind of like being like running your own business and habit. Definitely, yes, definitely, Like what were the hurdles there? Well, like so everybody went for an escape fruit right now? Yeah? Absolutely, Yeah, we'll talk later. Thanks. Uh. You know, everybody like specializes, you know, especially when when you got like three people like we do.

You know, it's like everybody figures out what they're what their lane is, I guess, you know, like who's who's gonna figure out taxes across three different states? Right? What's your lane, Vinny Vinnie Way into tax code? Yeah? Yeah, thankfully. Like I'm I'm still like mostly in the editorial stuff, you know, like editorial and like and like text, streaming audio all that stuff. Right, you're the one like answering emails for the whole team and stuff like that. Yeah. Yeah, that was back left

for us. And then he decided to get sick. Yes, yeah, I wish him well, yeah, we hope, we hope he's well absolutely, Mary, how are you doing. I'm doing really good. Thanks for having me absolutely, Thanks for coming on. I appreciate it. Yeah, it's exciting. Thanks for streaming it. Uh huh, yeah, I think we're live on twitch that's right here, goddamn right you are. We appreciate that. I'm gonna go check the calculator and see how much it costume.

This show is the Mixer exclusive. Yeah, that's right. We're beamed up pro please. I wish they'll use the original. We're knocking them down, they're dead and we're on to the next one. Well, what are you gonna do with this kiddie letter? I don't have a cat. Yeah that was an unfort Yeah, they didn't like that. I like dogs, Yeah, it's all right. I like you. I like your dog specifically,

it's thank you. My dog is really cool. Yeah. Yeah. So how is like twitch like showing up here for or did you just come into town on your own? I showed up specifically, uh, to support creators who are here, because it's really we've talked about this actually, like Vinne and I talked about this a lot, where like ten years ago or whatever, you could not get into E three without significant badge credentials and just a

heap amount of technology that was very difficult to come by. Now anyone can co stream these and it's not as necessary to have all these fancy things, so you can actually just stream at home. So often we don't really show up at all. We want to make sure people can just go stream at home. But this is such a special event in person where you get to have hands on games and see other people in the industry. And there's nothing

better than humanizing games. We play them, we review them, we talk about them, but how often do we see the human that makes them and how much they care about it. So that's why it's really important to show up. I'm really grateful that you did this. It absolutely justified my trip to be here. Oh good, and I also just get to hang out with a bunch of other streamers here are here too, Yeah, it is Does this event like begin to make sense more for twitch or less for Twitch?

Over time? Like, are you guys like wish you could be more involved in any way? We're passive supporters. I think that there is room to be here in a larger capacity. We used to come in droves like everyone did, and we would sell a big event. That is harder to do now, But I think there is a world in which we would love to basically sell like big events with lots of creators and have a huge event here. So I would love to do that, but it hasn't really been.

I think everybody's still fleshing it out with all the stuff that's going on. I mean everybody's piecemealed out. There's you know, the there's the IGN component, there's Live, the Microsoft event is like branched off. So there's like a lot of different places. Where are you supposed to be? What given time did anyone go to IG in life by actually met? I know you had roady three days straight? Yeah? Yeah? How was it great for me? I was? If I can pim something real quick, I

we're at least let me know. I we're atting. Old Games had a community, We've been showed up to New Games fine, new publisher of indie games. Yes, chain Staff, thank you. I'm doing the job for me. So we have two games. Air Deamons for a top down action horror rogue like Spybrus sci fi her movies at the eighties like The Thing, The Fly and the Blob, and then Chain Staff is a crazy fun action

platformer side scroller contra like very cool. You have an alien on your head and use a crazy alien staff to beat aliens you have taken up in the earth. That's the end of my elevator pitch. But I've said these words one hundred times this weekend. So yeah, I was on IG and Life for three days. I've seen nothing else from anything, no trailers. I didn't watch the SGF. I was at a booth. Well it was fun. Your booth was was at i GM Live? How was it was it

like when you get in? Like I heard? There were quite a few people there. Yeah, it was fun. It was a lot of kids, a lot of families coming through, a lot of people really interested in running on playing games. Dogs were there. Okay, okay, I had a good time. How many dogs did you pet? I petted at least three. A lot of them were service dogs, but there was one the last day. Checked my Twitter. He's adorable. But yeah, what was his name? I didn't get his name unforec but I make him all up

in my head. He didn't speak English. Yeah, yeah, it was. It was really good. It was our first year of APE. They've already announced it set next to their coming back next year, so we're got a partner. We were on stage shooing a demo and we had the booth and people come by and have a great time. So it was it was a fun show. Excellent. Yeah, you got so. You said you're gonna probably back next year doing I g in Live as well, or what

we are looking into a lot of events over the next few years. We're gonna announce that at a future time Jeff, Excellent, trying to get a scoop that we were we're we're we're looking into a lot of things. Patrick, what happened to this guy? It's probably making more money than we are. So yeah, absolutely that geheld of money here. Patrick, How you doing? I'm great remap you had another Giant Bomb spin off? Just a it's uh first anniversary and for one more year, I am not a fraud.

We can we work on that next year workshop at see if people finally discover what's been true all along. But no, it's been it's been good. Uh you know. I I alsort to point out Bradman are very healthy decision. Last night, I just uh, we we were going back to the j W and he walks in. He's like, dam I'm gonna get a beer and I was like, you could, you could we could do that together? And he looked at me and he said, I'm gonna go home. Yeah, And I didn't ranched to get a round of applause for

going home. Yeah, kind of what the Tae marryot is. This is where the press people will kind of hang out and a lot of industry people, right, yeah, yeah, it's it's it's right across from where the you know, the L A c C. The convention center, and so it would just happen to be the sort of place that a lot of people would end up either like walking through because it was convenient to go pick up a cab. Lots of beating industry people stayed there. It's like the gutter

for drain water. It's just we just gathered there. Yeah yeah, yeah, and it you know, it's if you haven't you know, that's the kind of place where it's like I should, I should go home, But what if I want to make a mistake? Yeah, and I what if I want to make a couple of them? Then you go there. But it's also it's the the guarrant Like these days, I don't go to a lot of events, and I'm trying to maximize the amount of time. Like I see people like I talk to Brad like every day, like we're we're

talking all the time. Uh, you know we're you know, longtime friends. I've no brand since I was fourteen years old because his voice had not broken. Yeah was it VI games was secret? Excuse me? It was? Yeah, Brad, I go all the way back to uh me just finding this random place on the internet, just a complete dice roll of like I guess I'll go here, and like a lot of those, it's wild.

Like when I think back about like how do you get in this industry, it's like, well, what you need to do is you need to randomly pick an internet chat right full of EGM editors and future editors of multiple major publications. Also also crucial to this path, you need to discover that EGM's offices are twenty five minutes from your coups, and then and then become

friends with those people and then they just throw a job at you. So if you just do those things, like just get into the industry, I don't see what's hards Like you have to bring a GM back to light. Yes, that's the easy part though. Yeah, Jason, you probably get this question a lot, like how to get in? It's like it has your answer changed recently. I just say, don't don't get into this industry. Jeff, this is my second live show in two nights. By the

way, Oh really, I was. We did a tripleic click live last and I want to tell a story. This is going to embarrass someone, but it's a good story, so I gotta tell it. So last night I did a show. We told people to come meet us to the JW just like the gutter water that the gutter trash we are. And so this woman comes up to me and she's like, Hey, I just wanted to say thank you because you on tripical, like you guys talk about you guys. I worked on this small game and you guys have given it a lot

of love, and so I just wanted to thank you for that. And I was like, oh cool, I love supporting indie games. Like what is the game you worked on? And she's like, oh, Outer Wilds sure, and I was like, oh, I don't think. I don't think you needed support for that one, like literally the best game in a decade. Okay, thank you, thank you. That's that's great. How to do a live show? Go? It was great? It was great. Los Angeles, baby, how many of you guys are from Los Angeles?

Yeah? Okay, okay, it's no New York, but it's it'll do. Yeah, it's all right, it's a right. He's a Jets fan. He suffers enough. Yeah, that's right. He will. He came out with a Jets always a cl will be this funancy. Yeah. Yeah, let's talk about magazine. Yeah, he's got a lot of good opinions. Let's talk about RFKG. He should be the vice president. I think, yeah, yeah, man, I mean you're right for a live show. You're you're working Bloomberg like like everyone else. Seems like you're working

a bunch of jobs as well. How's that working for you? Yeah? I I go up every day to the office and I say hi, I'm Mike Bloomberg, and he's like, good job on the video games, Thank you very much, sir. You type into your mental Yes, he's really right in front of your face, exactly. He's really hey, man, I have gift links now. He's uh, dizzy, can afford a fucking subscription of American? You know? The terminal is like thirty thousand dollars.

Me think you can't afford that? How much does Bob Iger make a lot? He probably has two terminals. He's mic is really into blacho. He's like, yeah, but he's more he's more of like a fumble core guy. Sure right, yeah, just big in the indie scene. Totally. Yeah. You also are working on a new book, right I am, Well, I'm not working on anymore, thank god. Oh yeah yeah, best part comes down four months. It's called Play Nice, The Rise,

Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment. And today today today, Blizzard announced that Diabo for his expansion comes out on the same day, which is amazing. That which is amazing. No, it's great. There's an audiobook that you can play diab before and listen to the audiobook at the same time. That's excellent. What is the process writing those books? Like, is it just like a lot of footwork talking to people? You just stare at a

blank page and feel like hours an hour? No, yeah, I spent I spoke to like three hundred something, three hundred and fifty something people for this book, which was it was a bear. But it's fun, it's satisfying, it's rewarding. It's very rewarding to do. When this will be the third book, right, yeah, when you're kind of finishing in the process right now and it's in the editing phase do there is? They probably shore like, Okay, what's next, what's next? What's next? No,

no yet, it's it's so it's done. So the funny thing about the book industry is that I'm like video games where it's like coming in hot day one patch for working on the day before. As John Drake knows with books all his games games, John, the growth industry of books, that's your books. Books do you sell? Hey man? Books sell like ten twenty copies, they go on a shelf. I mean, what else do you want from them? So the book industry like the book is finished like

six months before it hits doors, which is crazy to me. That's just how it works. Everything is like sluggish, and you know it's crazy in the book industry. Editors and publishers. People who work in the industry don't respond to emails on weekends or past five pm. So weird, so weird. Just don't have a question. Why is it six months? Is that to get like poll coaches and stuff like that. It's just like how the

process works. They do like galleys, review copies, and then the printing and stuff and they put like several like free print versions, right, versions got to get that glossy paper. The ink doesn't bleed. I've always been curious about this. When the audiobook does come out, are you involved in the process of like picking who reads it? I am not. Well, yes, picking who reads it? Yeah, so this is a funny stay

would they let you read it? If I was like, yeah, I want to read it, But I would never want to be like an ultra exclusive edition. I'll just read you before. I'll set up a torrent if you pay extra, if you pay for the Ultimate Edittion. Yeah, you get if you sign up at remap radio dot com, sign up the Sealed tire, and that's where Jesus's Audiobook to Me will go. This is our synergy, man, our media synergy right here. We just we just formed

a business deal on who says he three is dead? Yeah? This is yeah, this is Secret three right here. Yeah. So it's a funny story. So that my first two books and hopefully my third book were read by Ray Chase, who is a great voice actor. He played knocked Us in Vital Fantasy fifteen, and it happened because he like tweeted at me in twenty sixteen and was like, hey, do you need a voice actor? And I was like, oh, you're noctus. Yes, yes, I do need a voice actor. So and then he just did it. Do

you provide feedback on it? No samples? You know this airograph, don't. I don't know you said this one. No, Now I hear it the same time as everyone else did. Do you want to be more in bout than that process? Or you happy to watch your nds? I'm just I'm just the words. I'm like done at that. But I never want to see the book again. Like I've looked at it so many freaking times that I never want to look at it again. Drake. Uh, how's it a Disney? What a thoughtful question, Jeff, Yeah, that's only

the best for you. A deep and thoughtful question. Yeah. And god you got Roy up here. We got two people who make games up here. It's good. The Uh, it's fine. We're making lots of stuff. Yeah. It shows off some Mediana Jones today. That seemed pretty good. It's my first, my first deal that I did when I got to Disney four and a half years ago. Really, so he was in there the first one I started it. It did look really good. I thought it was excellent. I liked that it was funny. I think it like

that's something we often miss in sort of our butt. Like I actually really liked the Xbox Press conference or to End to M but it was a lot of even the cozy Mouse game was like in the existential threat of being a city mouse. It's like, Jesus Christ, guys, it's so dark in the world. Can we just get like a Nazi? Were going back to the nice, wholesome Nazis. I mean, they don't do great but spoilers. Bad things happened to him. He had a grenade in his hand.

Mary. It wasn't like a great situation for the NTS. No, it was fun. We're doing that. We're doing some outlaw stuff tomorrow for Star Wars Outlaws, and I live here, so this is just like I don't know, I just drove over. What can you give me? Can I get you in a dibasoft thing? Yeah, I mean text me and don't I'm not gonna like, I'm not gonna add you to list right now. I'm not gonna add your list on the couch. I'm not giant bomb trying to let people to the show. I am. We got We've got a

tough security out there, but watch they were not happy with you. I was still, we have two pillows, and I was like, don't worry about it. I'm obviously here for the show to tell me about the heist. So I went to the Xbox briefing as a partner. Uh, and then they had like an executive thing that was like very far away from the

big crazy theater they had. It was like, I drove the methesta guys over in my car h and we went there and there are all these pillows and my friend Daniel, who works there, was like, hey, I'm running this event. Here's some extra swag that was lying around, but also like could you take these pillows because we're gonna throw them away. And I was like, yeah, that's so, I'll bring them and I'll give them

a give them to you guys. And then I walked out with holding these pillows, me and Eve Kimo waiting for our cars, and he was like, what's up with the pillows, And I was like, don't worry about it. No, I cannot. I would never because I'm in We're in his show. To martlet him to pull up far he's very powerful. Yeah, I know, that's it. I just tole some pillows walking through the middle of this lobby. Did he seem like he was worried that you guys

were going to get stopped because you thought you stole pillows. I don't think he worries about's when it comes to me. I'm not really I'm not really a pressing part of his mind. He Hey, I've been in a couple of meetings with you. Why are you taking the pillows? Are you do you need pillows? Can I help you acquire regular pillows that are not landed? Are you getting paid enough? Yeah? I mean no, I mean like, let's see what this, Let's see how the Star Wars Outlass game

do and figure it out from there. No, it's good. Everything's everything's fine, Jeff, I do. I'm glad to hear that we're getting through the day, Drake. That's wonderful, one day at a time. Yeah, sure thing. I did get a text message yesterday from Adam Boyce, who was upset that you've now tied him for the most appearances on Giant Bob. Correct should have come to la Adam should have come to my birthday party and then stayed for the show. Adam shouldn't be raising your fan family responsibly

and having a god man, I'm losing weight. Yeah, clepics here from Chicago. They have airplanes get out here. Yeah. Yeah. He said he was gonna call in, and now I've got a trycaster there that's never gonna And the answer is if you I will, I will hold up a phone with FaceTime on. But as per Giant Bomb rules, if you call him the show, I read your phone number out live on there. There is here you go, boys, there it is right now. You want

to be at nineteen appearances, you never to choose your phone again. Those are the exchange rates. I don't make the rules. Uh bread uh. When it comes to covering games right now, how are you feeling about it?

Because I'm like at a point where, uh, we do the news show and then all the other stuff is like silly stuff and I'm playing, like playing playing like Dai katana right now, and it's like, yeah, it's it's terrible, but honestly, I kind of like it because it's like, oh, it's so far removed from all the kind of like the nightmare of covering games right now? Do you feel that? Is that something you guys consider when you're picking game coverage things like that, not necessarily. How

do you feel about the environment out there? I feel like like everything so like rumor and leaked driven now, like especially you having to run a new show, Like, first of all, I don't know how the hell you he's the one doing all the rumors in the least so much like it's not like it's yeah, that's all good, it's uh, it's it's strange. It's because people do have like a craving four like, oh what, what's

what's next, What's next? What's next? And it's like you're going to only let that drive stuff so much so it's like most of the show when people watch it, it's like, let's actually try to talk about what's happening and explain like why these decisions get made and that people have so much of an appetite for that, but you try to. You gotta take time to build the audience that actually wants to hear, that wants to get those lessons

a little bit, and that's uh, that's been fun. But it's like that is a grind in itself, which is why like I find myself returning to some older games a little bit more frequently recently, and they can't hurt you there if you're in the older day. Yeah, exactly. Yeah Dakta, well, Dakatana can hurt me and has frequently. Yeah, that's a rough one. See. You just you just build the audience, then you

push it further and further. Alright, like remap when I was talking with Rob Zacney, you know, like my colleague, I was like, you want to talk about our house ship? I gotta figure out how to get a plumber? Do you think to listen to that? Like there's only one way to find out, right, And we're talking about this stuff constantly at a certain way. It's like hopefully they're just tuning in to like let hear us talk about whatever now. So yeah, there's like finding spots where we

can just find a little reprieve from what's going on. But I mean, do you think there's gonna be a break in the way the industry is going aroun? Yeah, don't it seems like it? Yeah? I mean I was gonna say as far as us picking stuff though, like like I always find the more self indulgent I think something is, the more people actually want it. Yeah, you know, it's like does anybody actually want to watch me play through all the Fallout one apparently extreme. Yeah, they've always loved

you know, we're so self conscious. They just wanted like to listen to like me and Vinie sit around talking about like podcast like audio tech for an hour like apparent apparently. Yes, you know that does remind me. How is the NASS? What's going well? Yeah? Yeah, yeah? Are you upgrading the network attached storage anytime soon? It's it's in a good place. Yeah, Okay, I like to hear that tech pod, dot content, dot town if you more, that's you're another person with multiple projects going

on. Yeah, it's just like that, like like that's the name of the game, right, Like I feel like the number of people I know wearing like three hats out numbers of people I know that we're one at this point. You know, does that make you feel lazy? Mary Cash one job, just hanging out. Do you also have your own podcast? Yeah? Yeah, I have several jumps. Yeah, get on the trolley. I yeah. The side hustles are the new job. We like to have

three or four things at any given time. Yeah, And similarly to Brad was saying, we don't always talk about games. In fact, that's kind of the staple of it isn't it Dan? I would say it's thirty percent games, thirty percent whatever we're actually thinking about, and sometimes that is plumbing, and sometimes it is weird house stuff, and then it's thirty percent Dan

being a piece of shit weird. I know it doesn't add up to one hundred, but you know there's always ten percent for questions or something else. Yeah, I'm going to send you the game sense so you could see what that's like with Dan could control that. Yeah, yeah, it's a rough one. Did we figure out the allergy situation on that one? It wasn't helping for sure. Okay, I was too afraid to tell my doctor that

I had. You were too embarrassedary you that. I was too embarrassed to be like, there's a man that controls a robot in my house that can set off since whenever I'm on content we have an agreement, I don't know. I like it's it's it's the something allergies. Jeff went in for a Sinus property came out in a fifty one fifty cycle as a man with a robot that controls the sets in my brain. Yes, exactly right. You're gonna say your favorite Fallout vault. Yeah, you know you give me the

quarterback for the Jets for sure. Ye get me in there, put me on coach. All right. We only have a couple of minutes left. We did all come out here, and I guess to see video games you any you want to talk about? And he that stuck out, like that's the crazy thing about that, like so much of it is embargoed, that is, I think. I think like the majority of the stuff I've seen

I can't actually talk about, right, stuff that we played. Yeah, so at the showcases, I guess, like the Xbox thing this morning, I thought was pretty good. Yeah, Indie did look very good. That is. You don't have to do that because I'm here, but thank you. I like it doing it. Yeah absolutely. I don't know, but like a Perfect Dark looks surprisingly good. Do you think that's an immersive sim?

I hope. So what it sounds like to me is like maybe kind of a little bit like Hitman, kind of a little bit like cyberpunk. So yeah, I got some Watchdogs vibes from like the environmental Sure puzzle sobby nature of it too, But yeah, I don't know, but these look Yeah, it's like they did a pretty good show. I guess the other question there is Xbox is having what's going on with Xbox right now, which is like okay, and they're like, we want the games to speak for

themselves. Did they accomplish that? Do you think? Patrick? Yeah? I mean I thought it was like a really solid showcase, except that you know, every time like this game's coming out in twenty twenty five, Yeah, that's the year for Xbox till twenty five, till twenty five, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean it just you know, it just feels like sometimes with Xbox, even if it's always next year, right, it feels like it's always like that's the year where it's all gonna come

together. And it was also kind of wild as every trailer came through, is like that's right. They own that ship too, don't they guess because it used to me like it's a our stuff and partner showcase, and increasing it's like, isn't our stuff and partners we bought showcase And they don't even do the thing anymore where it's like they're gonna like, oh, we'll have a separate chow for butthes that it's like, no, they're just in here

now, that's just what it is. Yeah, anything else that go out to anybody, any top games you guys saw I do want to shout up building relationships. Yeah, you're okay, everyone's been saying this. Yea. The Day of the davs. Like the aesthetic is kind of like it's like a lo fi ps one like physics, kind of like Katamari Damachi. It's like this house that's rolling around this environment and it's like not a dating sim, but it's really horny and you're a you're a building talking to other buildings,

and there's a lot of like really funny sexual innuendo. And I was talking to the developer and I was like, you know, this game seems really neat. The reception has like seemingly pause, Like how long you been working on this? He's like, well, like October, I was like last Octor was like yeah, I'm like, oh, that's neat. I was like, you know, the writing's really strong, like you working with that? And he was like no, I think it's me. It's like

you. I like, do you identify as a writer? Do you write a lot? No? If you identify as a building sexual Like I was like, well then what's your process? Well, I go on Grinder and then like, I write stuff on Grinder and I'm like that's pretty funny, and then I delete it and then I put it in the game. Yeah, it's a process. It's amazing, Patrick, isn't that how you started remoun So, I like what I want, what I want to believe is that there are there are lines in the game that also went out on grind,

Yes, and that they just exist. Yes. Yeah, So I I believe that demo is either out now or beyond the seam next vest next week. It's just wild and interesting and like unlike literally anything I saw this week, so that that's definitely the one that is and you can see how it happens. It's like I'm a big a building game. I'll make a relationship game. Oh we building relationships, building relationships. You could just see

like the dumb idea popping out of your head. Yeah, we did get the wrap up signs, so we're gonna send these folks on right now. Let's get a round up applause. Thank you all so much for coming out. Really appreciate it. You guys are a great segment. YEP, because we're good. Go yep. Absolutely, Let's get you out of here, you know, time to move on to our next segments. Get some more

friends out here on stage. Okay, let's go VAM. Okay, great, so grub Yeah, tell me about this Xbox pillow that you got there. John Drake is the world's greatest thief. Yea, he did this for me, honestly what he was handed to me. I'm like, did you buy this? And oh, of course he stole it. Yeah. So this is a fun fact to share. Often at our San Diego Comic Con parties for fandom, we have you know, swag that and up, like

on the couches around at float at the hard Rock Cafe. A lot of the time these pillows don't make it back to the office because people sneak off with them. So I've been Yeah. Ben Starr definitely has a collection of items swiped from parties over the years. But you know what, We're good. Okay, thanks jan Emma, Yes, you're doing great. Thank you so much. You know who else is also doing great? Are all of our next guests coming up? I'm sure that they're having a fabulous time hanging

out backstage. There was pizza, there were drinks, so really, what more do you need in life? Please? Welcome to the stage, I believe. According to her own website, she is a juggernaut of comedy, most recently of Fun How It's Elise Willems. Elise. Yeah, you need to go get a prize. Yeah, we don't want anyone. See what we've got here. Oh that's a good one. Okay, okay, no one's got you set up one second. All right, this is a good one we've got. Oh actually, okay, so this one it's it's one

hundred small rubber ducks. But this is the ice container for the venues. We do have to give that back. So you just want to hold your arms out or something here, okay, all right, yeah, yeah, all right, okay, all right, yeah you got that. All right, Here we go as many as you can keep it there. There you go, okay, okay, yeah, that's good. There you go. All right, joy, thank you, thank you. That's so sardines.

I wonder how many ducks you managed to hang on to their release, So I think you can start counting that as I bring the rest of our guests out on you. He is one of the co hosts of gamer Tag Radio. He is a Tour de Force in the gaming content creator space. Please welcome to the stage, Paris Lily, and he's very fashionable too, thanks man. Welcome bear, Welcome to elmst bonus box. All right, what does he have here? Oh? Oh, that's one of the best ones?

Right, all right, almost got you set up one second. I've got a lot of these balls in my pocket. I didn't expect to put them there. Oh my goodness. This is a bundle pack. Here you have a new Blu ray of the unrated edition of Mcgruber as well as a signed copy of the novel Air Force Gator. So there you go. Yes, enjoy is. Yes, that's one of the best ones. Elmo. Good pick many's ducks. How many ducks are you up to there? At

least you counted thirty seven. I think that's a respectable number. Yeah, all right, joining us we have He is a television writer who worked on the likes of series like Twisted Metal and also Grand Crew. Okay, I really like Grand Crew, but maybe that's just me. Yes, thank you so much. You also know him from the internet. He's been everywhere. Most recently you might see him as the current host of UM Actually it is if you want anyway? Really? Oh yeah, Iffy, welcome. Yes,

let's see what you've gotten here from Elmo. Elmo, okay, excellent, all right, yeah you will please get that. Thank you. Oh it's an electronic yodling pickle. Oh youngrats, congrats. Kids are going crazy for that one. Yeah, very popular, new for you, Iffy, and you didn't already have one of those. And finally, please welcome to the stage. She is a gaming content creator and also a boxing champion. It is a lot of peers. Thank you's wana welcome. That's who we

have here. Oh okay, yes, Elma, you've got that, thank you. Okay, No, I saw it, I saw I conferred with Elmo. Oh it's another bundle. You have both a tube of wet fird spray oh no, and a pooping pooches calendar. Yeah. Enjoy, yes, enjoy, Yes, thank you. How's it going everybody? It's going great. Yeah, I'm glad you're here. Got everyone a mic? All right, you guys happy about your prizes? Yeah? Yeah, look at that. It's a pickle that sings. Yeah. Yeah. The cartoon version

has arms and hands, and this is just a very shafty pickle. I think that's what you want from your pickles. I don't find that upsetting at all. Yeah, yeah, how you doing? Pickle is ridged for someone's pleasure. I don't know everybody's. I think Emma might have the fourth mike. We'll get that to you here in a second, Paris. How you doing. I'm doing fantastic, sir? Got your nine point five? Did you get your nine point five? Xbox? It was a it was a

ten ten. That's what they needed to do. Yeah, I mean that's what you hear out of their camp right now. Xbox. The showcase happened this morning. It was almost two hours. They said they wanted the games to speak of themselves. You thought they succeeded at that. I think they absolutely did. From start to finish. I was interested in every game that they were showing. I was really impressed by everything I saw on there.

Anything that really blew you away? Perfect Dark? Yeah, just because of the unknowns, the rumors of speculation for them to finally show it and to have extended gameplay in there and Ford to look that good, Oh yeah, I think they knocked it out of the park. Yeah. Were you worried at all about like on the last panel they mentioned I had a lot of twenty twenty fives. Once again, it's like, well, wait till next

year. Are you feeling that well? I think it's because they did the direct earlier in the year, so they kind of told us already here are the twenty twenty four games, and none of them were delayed. They're still saying twenty twenty four, that's right. So seeing all these now being twenty twenty five, I was like, uh, okay, yep, yep. Absolutely, at least, how you doing. I'm doing great. I'm going to be finding ducks everywhere. Yeah, you should just stuff at your pockets

with them and everything. You don't want to lose these. They're really important. Thanks for coming out. I appreciate it. You did you Are you enjoying summer game fest? I'm having a great summer game fest like Paris. I love that Xbox showcase. I thought it was great. Yeah, what stuck out to you. I also was into Perfect Dark because I'm a big fan of the Crystal Dynamics tomb Raider games, so I'm really hoping a lot of that expertise carries over there. And mixtape I thought, yeah, looked

really cool from the artful Escape devs. Yeah, there was a lot of games where people started like running and like floating and air dashing, and I always like air dashing, So yeah, that looked really good. And I feel like everybody's really into the nineties right now. Yeah, like we've got you know, Call of Duty is like Golf War. George Herbert Walker was in that one. Yeah, yeah, George dubs and then Mixtape is the early nineties too. Yeah, and I'm a nineties kid, so I'm like,

yes, please take me back. Yeah. Do you think part of that is like, like, new games don't feel that exciting right now, so having something that has a nostalgic base really helps or what I think. So, And I also think it's a very easy tent pole to point to for tone and atmosphere, Like everybody knows that and everybody can not everybody, but you can actually like point to that time period and say like, oh, yeah, we can use that as an inspiration to write and to build

something around. Yeah. So that's soundtrack smashing bum Yeah, And I was like there was one screen and I was like, oh, that's sick, and then there was a second screen. Right, it's still and the games don't do that that often, probably because they want to save money. I don't. I don't know, but now like that got me excited. Know it was the awful Escape team and that makes sense. I didn't know that either. Yeah. Yeah, the game rules, yes, very exciting.

Uh ify Uh are you enjoying the show so far? I don't know what I expected. Yeah, that's about my summer. We were talking before. You're from the LA area, so he nice to get everybody to come into town come see you. Oh yeah, I don't have to travel. Everyone's in town. I get to say what's up. You know, a lot of y'all who don't be here are now here. And then also, yeah, we got that new Gears of War, which, like you know, that's always going to hold a special place in my heart because that was like

I remember when the first one came out. We were just talking about it, like a you duck understuff and you shoot? What do you want of a new Gears of War? Oh? Man? You know, I think it'll just be fun to see Dom again because I was one of those people was hurt when he died spoiler alert. I was like yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. Yeah, it was crazy. The soundtrack was nuts. He gets in that big truck he tries, He's like if he stopped stop it. Yeah, and that's what Years of War. I want them

to start his enemies because it's a prequel. I want it to be like these guys hate each other and then we see them fall in love. Oh I like that too. Yeah, you want it to be more anime? Yes, okay, So if you are a longtime Gears fan, you want this to be like a different kind of experience, or if it is just more Gears of War, you're gonna be happy. Yeah, okay, now this is accidentally a problem. I love it. Yeah, No, I do want it to be like you know, I just like your class.

I opened Pandora's Box and now but yeah, now I want it to be like, you know, some of that classic Years of War with just a new flare. Like I've I've been a fan of all of the like you know, Gears five, Gears six, every one of them I popped open and played. So I'm so far. I'm not tired of some cogs. I need more cogs in my life, right And I think what I'm hoping is like they're okay with this game coming out, having the multiplayer like always

and not having to be some big live service thing that last year. Ever, yes, can't put that on every game, right, Yeah, yeah, I hope that. I hope we stop, you know, we we just have a game just come out, you know, it just exists, and then there's a multiplayer. I think that the excitement behind the live as a service game is from the aspect of, you know, we have a few devs up here, but we know the the powers that be above our heads love the idea of infinite money, and I think that's what they look

at as live as a service. But there's something beautiful about a game that has a start and finish and a like solid multiplayer to go with it. Like I love going back and playing some of the like going through the first trilogy of Gears of War and just seeing it from start to finish and not necessarily needing it to exist and have like you know, I guess you uh fuck of you know, Omni Man show up and shoot with Dom even though Run the Jewels is in one of the Gears somewhere, of course, but

that that rit though, that rifts that was sight. Yeah, a lot of Do you think that Microsoft's maybe learned a lesson from Halo, where they're like, we talked about a ten year plan, we talked about all these things that we need this game to do. Can they just let gears be gears? It's a great question. We don't know yet. Unfortunately, the whole game's industry is obviously very focused on print infinite money. It's you know,

the stop market what great for everybody involved. Yeah yeah, I was gonna say the industry is focused on layoffs, so it seems like, yes,

the number one product. Yeah. Yeah. So, Like while I loved the Xbox show Case, like it was so good, I did have a moment because I streamed it and I was like, really hard not to think about fucking Tango though, Like it is, like it was such a good showcase and it's still you know, that's what an eighty billion dollar showcase at this point, Like it is very very good, like back to back.

I was super excited about so many things, and it paced really well and there wasn't too many dudes talking in blazes on stage to Offenceville, but it was it was still just difficult not to think about that, and the landscape the industry is in right now is scary in a bunch of ways. For Gears, I think like going back to its roots. Before I watched it, I kept saying I didn't really care about another Gears, and I'm a huge Gears fan. Like I Gears one through three I absolutely adore,

and I was like, I don't really need more from that franchise. I'm kind of okay. It's not that I don't like the more recent games, I just kind of don't need more of them. And then I was like they went with yeah, oh shit, because I've read all those books that I read them comics, and I was super excited about it. Man, they gonna sink jacinto you know what I mean. It's crazy, super super super excited about it. I imagine they're gonna like gearsb Gears. We'll see

some new Horde mode updates, we'll see some new multiplayer stuff. And I Spicy Take also a big Perfect Dark fan. I think Perfect Dark is better than Gold and Eye. Shut up, everybody, shut up, shut your mount shut sh shut up. Shut. I think it might be right. It's they're very similar, but Perfect Duction's a little bit better. And I don't know, I'm a little apprehensive about it because it looked it looks very

different. Obviously it's a pretty different era, but I was like, there were some parts of it that I was like a little Watchdogs, maybe a little a little dishonored. I'm just not sure yet. Like in Prince, I love Joanna Dark, I love that well. It was nice to see Day to Dine, like it's nice to see Carrington, Like there are so many references that I loved in there, but I'm just I'm just not sure

yet. And I felt kind of similar about Fable as a huge Fable fan, where I was like, it almost felt to me like dragon Asian Fables should have been swapped in the way that the art styles are presented. Yeah, Like I love the sense of humor in that Fable trailer, but it's just the cartooniness was there for dragon Age and less there for Fable. I

don't know. I'm sure I will eat my woods and love you. Yeah, I mean, apparently you have people have been seeing dragon Age, and who knows what they're gonna say once they're actually able to talk about that or whatever. But it's like you're right in the moment when I was looking at I'm like, yeah, that these tones do seem a little off, but yeah, when it comes back to Perfect Dark, I did think I was glad it wasn't immediately like here's a shooter level after shooter level after shooter level.

Like I want them to like take this idea and do a little bit more with it. I think about the in the first game, the laptop turret that you like exactly what I said. I was like, where's the laftop gun? Right? Yeah? But I mean like this game feels like it could have that based on what they showed Aliens, yes, exactly right

and Aliens yeah. So I'm like, I'm really hopeful. Uh but I think the point you mentioned a second ago about not being able to like not think about Tango and not be able to do nothink about the layoffs, it is like they need to get past that. They need The only real way they could do that is not necessarily by coming out on a stage like this and talking the way they have been. It is through by putting out games that succeed and can pay people's paychecks. Do you think that they're on their

way there? I do, Yeah, I do. I do think they're on their way there. It just goes back to why I kept saying nine point five. It's they have so many valuable ips at this point across, but there's the Xbox Game Studios and Activision that you got to get it together at some point. And I was like, this is their opportunity to show that they have that roadmap and can get to that cadence because going back to your point about twenty twenty five, if all of those games come out in

twenty twenty five, that is crazy. It feels like a very different world. They brand left Auto Yeah really, yeah, it's what else were they supposed to do? Like, yeah, when you then it sucks. You know, I've got friend, I had a friend who got laid off on his birthday. Like it just it fucking sucks. But I don't like saying but in this context, when you have a bunch of acquisitions, layoffs are

always inevitable and it sucks to get no matter what. And I can't rationalize what's happened, and it feels like a huge loss again, not to it just diminished the other studios. But Tango, it's like you had the evil within and when you I just don't understand. Yeah, I still don't understand. But like I don't know what Phil could ever say that would make it make sense really, like what is he supposed to do? Yep? I mean the thing he says is like he doesn't have the luxury of not having

these studios not make money. And that's just what it came down to, is they just didn't make enough money. And it's like, well, isn't that what happened with Tango? Did we confirm that? I mean, that is what happened. Yeah, if this has to have been I guess if these studios were making enough money, they wouldn't have been closed to it is what I've been told over and over again. And it's but I get to

the point where I'm like, whose fault is that? Well, yeah, because I was to say it really is just a the aspect of like the the the barrier of like what is making a lot of money? I remember talking about a thread of this, Like the idea of what what making a lot of money is is so much different. You know, like a game like Apex met just making a billion dollars in two years and everyone's like, yeah, that's the floor, and it's like no, no, no,

no, no, that's flim team. Yeah, yeah, that's the problem. Yeah, and I think it's it's when you kind of hand it over to shareholders and people who only are concerned with money. You less care about creating good games that people enjoy, and more about how's a way to get as much money out of the return customers as possible with as little work and a fewer employees as possible. That's that's just why it's at odds, and

it's something that's happening just across all industries. I'm seeing it not only in the game industry, but in the TV industry. That's why your boy been streaming a lot now, you know. So, yeah, I guess I need you all to come out with these games since that's what I gonna be based on. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I guess because I ain't doing shit. But but no, it really is, you know, to to not be to answer kind of the question you were as uh, to answer

the question you were asking. I think that it is interest right is. I think we need some of these more kind of surprise smash hits from smaller studios like your hell Divers, which is like, oh see, that's the key. It isn't like making sure it's a live as a service game. It's not you know, resting on like super old ips and sequels. It's like making a game that people connect with, enjoy playing, and want to

give money to because they're having a good time. I don't think there's a Jedi mind trick that you can put in a video game that will make us want to pay for it. Is just a fun game that's like, yeah, I do want this cool helmet, you know, like that's really all

it is. And on the subject of contracting and streamlining their business model, every game in that showcase, for the most part, was a day one game pass release, which I imagine that they are doing the numbers and they are doing the logistical work to say, how are we making this possible that we are making money on games? Like, if that is our model to be releasing every thing day of day one game pass, how is this going to work? How do we have to call things to make that work?

Would like to see the numbers. I want Phil show us the numbers. I also like the thing that kind of blew my mind with with cod blop six, which I love saying cod blob six please yes? Was they announced or they disclosed that their current player base is like one hundred million per month or something wild astronomical, and there's still their target is to grow that, which for me, I'd be like, you did it, You did it, guys, you got it. I did it. I bought the Gundam

skin. I bought the Warhammer skin, the dumb skin. Shout out, who assumes back then, unless yeah, yeah, yeah, we've got to Ki supporting us. Yeah. Who has been grinding on call of duty to get all of the Gundam unlocks very recently. Isn't that Jacob bulletin in the house? Is that whenever? Yeah? Yeah, he's been streaming in my living room to try to unlock all of the Gundam skins. And there's this really I think it's cha who like pushes somebody off a legend, a gift.

It's all so worth it. But that's why we're out in video games now. We've got the Warhammer skins, you know, And I put the thing that I always think about, is it enough? Is I had a conversation one time with someone who runs a very successful YouTube channel, and they were like, I'm just trying to make enough money that at some point I can, you know, just like disappear off the end of it, and I was like, if you can't do that, now can anybody? How

can any of us ever fucking do that? Like millions and millions of subscribers, And I was like, are we just all being tricked all the time into not enough money? Ever? And like I think the games industry is in that exact same space again. I blame fee for Ultimate Team. Personally, it's like it's never enough fucking money, and it's just it's very, very scary. I know, it's it's very because what really kind of starts

to create at you is when you act. We do read these like you know, Wall Street Journal articles where you look at the numbers, like when you when you see the numbers, like I think it was like before the act, Division Lands was like, well we said we were gonna make two billion, and we only made one billion dollars, Just like, oh you only made one billion dollars. Cool some people eating a sugar sandwich, you know, and you're saying you only made a billion dollars and for who you

know? And I think, then you're gonna get me in my other bag because I go come from one industry with a union that was just on strike because you're gonna pay us our money or you're not gonna get TV. And then I come to this other million, this other industry where I created a character. I don't work for the company anymore, and the character is selling skins for them, and that that company, the people at top, are

getting the money indefinitely, even though I helped write that character. Oh what about your residuals Oh, oh that's you don't do they they they they shot me when I asked that. But yeah, it's very and there's a and uh, you know, the conversation is starting to pop and it's going to

be a very uncomfortable one. But it is like the problem here is that the people making money from a lot of these really great games aren't even the people who are in the studios clocking those hours writing those lines that we love, doing those animation loops doing it. It is the person in the suit that like watches the presentation video and go, yeah, that's good. You

know. Yeah. It does make me think. The conversation that I've been having with myself the past few months as all this has been happening, is what benefit do we get from these corporations that really do drive this it's never enough and we have to have growth. And I mean, obviously you can look at the history and it's like they were able to make some bigger games, but I'm at a point where those don't excite me that much anymore.

And so I really do wonder what are we getting from these corporations forcing everyone to be like, no, get back to the minds. We need more and more and more. I mean, is there any benefit to them?

I don't know. How are you all feeling about it? It's tough because I think, to be blunt, a lot of the sameness is coming from some of the bigger companies and corporations, whereas the innovative and iterative stuff that's really really cool and excites me is coming from smaller companies and developers, like so many of the smaller things that I was jazzed about in the SGF Showcase, PC Game Show Day of the devs in Xbox, where like the small

games like UFO fifty looks. So I'm just describing it as a concept album as a video game because they have the whole lore behind it, and I'm like, that's so cool. Nobody else is doing that. I love it the whole Blumhouse catalog just looks so cool. Like there's just so many of these smaller dams that were taking chances and have you know, their praising or they're pushing style over fidelity, and I'm totally there for it. I will

also say it's hot for the dev teams. Like the longer those cycles get, people get burnt out. YEA. Dev teams get tired. Like, you know, you've got artists who are incredibly talented, they get tired of making the same fucking art for seven years. I can't even imagine what working

at rock Star is like. Yeah, like you just work on something for so long that looks the same and has the same DNA, Like, you lose a lot of talent, You lose a lot of senior talent because people just get tired of Like the bloat is also really bad for those teams. Well, what you're talking about is actually what kind of scares me. There's

two things something you said earlier. We don't just make game, Like game just can't be a game, all right, You pick it up, you play it, and it's done, you put it down and you move on to something else. It has to be sustainable, it has to be long term. It has to keep you engaged. Like I played Destiny, I've been playing it for ten years now. That game was designed with the carrot

on the stick to constantly keep me playing it. But what you just said, Alana, is the other part from the creator standpoint is sure, the artists are tired of making the same shit over and over, but what are they doing now? They're getting AI to replace those people to make that art

that they don't want to keep making over and over. So to everything you're saying, it just makes me wonder where is this industry headed, you know, as far from a creator standpoint and from a customer standpoint, are we just going to get the same shit over and over or are we going to have risk? Are we going to see unique games and ideas be pumped out or is it just about play it safe, make something, put out, something that's going to make us money and quote unquote continue to grow the business.

I think the what happens with this because you know, everything that has happened has happened before, right right, And I think as much as it is often misconstrued, misused and appropriated, there's something about the punk soul that lives in all art. It always lives in all art. I was hanging

out with a bunch of indie devs last night and is still there. And I think that's what happens is when you have these monster corporations come and they go ahead and they acquisition and they make game dev everything, and it becomes more and more of the same, and they annualize video games, there's still those few passionate folks who want to create what they do, Like I think about because I do so many different forms of art, I get to see

the same thing happen in many different ways. A couple of years ago, UCP blew up. It didn't blow up. I mean it just like metaphorically blew up. It was closed for a bit, and so you had like no improvisers were able to like perform at any of these ten pole studios. Everything was kind of shut and they were just finding, like renting out places

and like doing these shows. And it felt back to back when I first started improv and there was these exciting shows where it's a bunch of passionate people. And I think the same thing is going to happen with gaming is as you acquire and you make these like kind of gray slop of video games with Carrocks on the stick and some of the outliers that are good because, like

you know, for what it's worth. I think Destiny games like Destiny and Apex they work because like that is like the genre of what they're making, like it serves a purpose. And I think I don't have a problem with them live as a service game. I have a problem of forcing it of a game that's like, oh, this would have been a rate single player game, but you forced it to be alive as a service so you can keep getting money. I wasn't gonna say it, but you said it,

and you're right. But you know, I think that's where happened. I'm seeing so much exciting things happening on indie dev Twitter. They get me so excited that I so much. I'm like, I want to make sure that I'm talking about those more and I'm doing what I can to shine the spotlight on them, because that's what we're gonna have to lean on while the industry kind of figures itself out Right, I'd like to hear from the pickle I agree. Can I ask the four of you a question, what is something

you've seen? I assume you've all been to some again pest play days. If you've seen something cool that you know it's not a Triple A game that you really liked. I mean, I'm gonna just rush and say that hyper Light Drifter sequel, you know, yeah, hyper Light Breaker. I mean you. I love the look, I love the style. I love that. I was when that, when that draw, I was like, yeah, we're back. We are so fucking back. And and that's the stuff

that keeps me excited. I'm gonna give a duck to somebody. All right, that's three ducks. I'm sorry I didn't. I didn't get to play it, but they debuted it in the SGF showcase. But never Neva from the studio that made I know it's Chris. But I in my head, I always say greed because in French that's how you would say it. And I'm Canadian, and you know, yeah, I feel laqua and I look down at anyone that says Lacroix. Well on the website they say it's pronounced

lacroix. Do they really like enjoy? They're wrong? But but yeah, that game looks beautiful. It uh like I'm that's day one for me. To play that. So is that the one with the dog White Fall? And I also thought it was People told me it was a fox and I said that's a dog. Yeah, so thank you? Is it gonna please tell me that dog's going to live? You think it's okay? You know, let's not talk about that. And I just see one in the game and I'm boy, here we go, here we go, here we go

again. If he dies, it will not be in vain. I can promise you that, now, how about you? Paris? So I hope I'm saying the name right. But it was Blumhouse Games and it was Feared of Spot. Yeah, that's the one. I was going to say, as well, I can get a chance to play it, did you? Yeah? I got people's shoulder. It's so eye catching. Yes again, nineties everything nineties right to that. But I love the narrative horror aspect of it, and that vibe is something I really connect with. So, yeah,

there was a husband and wife making that. They left their jobs, yeah, to go make it. They're like, we want to make some They left their jobs, had a kid and they started making a game incredible and Blumhouse was there to catch him. And I'm like I love the whole Blumhouse showcase was maybe my highlight of Sgt. Stardu value with murder? Is that not just the best pitch you ever heard? Yes? So good.

I feel the same way about on a Pana where it's like these studios just I mean Devolva as well, we have to give you everything, just only releasing bangus. I know, hire me Devolver where I know you in the audience somewhere hitch you boy. I did get the wrap it up. So but before we go where we all work making stuff around video games. We're still feeling good about that overall, right, Like we've been through this before,

we'll keep getting through it. Everyone's still feeling pretty good about it. Oh yeah, if we didn't love video again, I know, I'm so passionate about it. The thing I'm working on is not announced yet. It will have three a's in it, but just no, I'm a part of it so you can like it. Uh oh yeah, all right, Well that's gonna do it for this one. Everybody, Thank you guys so much. That was excellent. We'll be back with more, uh and more gifts

from Young Yelmo. Look out for that. There's ducks going out there, watch out. Yeah, you can just drop it right there. Thanks man, I appreciate absolutely, Thank you guys. All right, lord come, I am stepping on so many ducks. Yeah, there's ducks everywhere. Yes, a brad forgot his pool noodles. Yeah, brag you forgot your pool noodle, Francisco. Yeah, here's another. I tried to throw it gently because you know, things build up inertia and then they can be painful.

But yeah, if anybody wants a duck, there's there's many on the stage. But Grub apparently doesn't have respect for rubber animals, as he is currently stomping on them. Oh, I found another one right by my feet. I'm gonna take over my kid. This is this is according to Jana, blue ducks a blue duck. Yay, all right, let's keep this party going. Coming up next to this age, there's gonna be one or two faces who if you are part of the current Giant Bomb collect universe collection of

watchers, uh, you're gonna know all these people. Please welcome the stage one, Miss Lucy James do. I I was told to go to Elma. It's the final round. It's the most exciting rounded prizes. This is great. Wait no, if you want to, I'm sorry, you better sit down. This is Christmas ninety seven. No, we'll unpack, okay, uh joining us. Next, we have two more who say there is mister America. All right, yes, all right man, Okay, I'm

gonna I always hate I'm gonna try just because the British slightly different. Well we have there's a way that we can figure out if it's simply because they're British. A recent addition to the giant bomb team behind all of the fire popping off on TikTok it is Tom as well aswell. Let me blank on Tom's last name. I was like, great, Britt, Tom, Tom, I need you to go to young Elmo and see if it's just that he's racist against British people. Yep, no, he's saying, whoa why

are you? You might just tay back to say this is bad us back up slowly. Don't show him your back though. Okay, let's maybe try instead. A native Angelino, also very famously the parent of a very cute dog. We have got Nikky Grayson and Nicky come on, come on, come on, oh wow wow, I'm sorry Nikki, you are breaking people's heart. This was this was not on our format sheet. I'm sorry, Nikki. Feel free to take a consolation duck off the ground. There's ducks

to go around. Also joining us this evening, we have another well native California and a legacy in games pr It is Bailey Myers. See Bailey, you're also dressed in red. So nope, all right, okay, all right, sit down, all right? Oh my god, on International Women's Day. It's not International Women's Day. That was in March. Uh well, listen this guy. He cannot possibly deny. He is, without a doubt, the hardest working man at Giant Barber. Please welcome to the stage.

It's Jan. Oh cho, let's go. He's bringing his own chair. Oh wow, he even said no to Jan. Okay, we're gonna switch this up. Try try something else here. Please welcome to the stage. Now. You might know her as the person who keeps coming out in between every single segment during this show. To MC it it's em a fun who wow almost me? Okay, all right, well how about this. He's certainly tight with young Elmo as the person who's been speaking on his behalf

for this entire show. Everybody welcome, to the stage, Dan Riker, Yeah, I don't. Yeah, get all right, Well, so we're not going to get anything. Yeah, nobody is getting anywhere. No, we have another right, yeah, we do have one more person right now. There's another ball in here, and it's for the Prize of the night. Okay, Well, I guess that could only mean that this is our very last chance to see young Elmo give away the grand prize of the night.

I have to assume with the way he is pretty acting it. Everyone, please, welcome to the stage. Mike Manati. Where's Mike? You're like, right, You're like, that's my nat You're being summoned by what we know what? He's like? We go, Oh, there's only one left. You're guaranteed the prize of the night. Mike Natti. My goodness, what's it gonna be? Elmo loves You? Which is it gonna be? Do a couple more? What does it say? Oh it's Surprise of the night. My goodness. Oh, here we go everyone while it comes

out. Everyone for the birthday boy, Happy birthday. Let's get him started. Ray over, Ray him over, Yeah, ray him over. You can't see it. You can't see it looking on the camera. Mike when I come over here. Oh my god, stand right here, buddy. All right, let's let's look on the camera. See and might keep those eyes closed. Please, it's gonna be okay, I can't put it. Hold it, all right, hold it. We're gonna remove it from its container. It's very frontie. It is very like Mike. Yes, okay,

here we go. Okay, all right, Might keep those eyes, keep the eyes closed, Keep the eyes closed. Oh yeah, yeah, that's the stuff. That's the stuff. All right. Now, let's let's show the camera. Let's keep those eyes closed. Jan Let's let's get a rotation here for the camera. Let's get to that. Like all right, now, let's turn it. Keep your eyes closed, turn it to mic. Alright, three. That was horrifying. Wow, hey, the feet are way worse this year. Yeah. Yeah, it's so much worse,

really terrible. Now let's let's get into this here. I heard the inside's pretty unique as well. Janey have the knife. Oh boy, I'm not a chef. I don't know. It looks like Amber Tambling in the ring. Fat Lemon SD on Instagram follow her, She's incredible. She says that she hated having this iner house last night. Oh, cut a good slice off the head. I don't want a piece of the feet this time. Who wants the feet? Who wants the feet? Everyone's raising their hand.

Oh that's to holy middle toe. There you go. Oh yeah, you want to toe? Okay, Elma wants the toe toes for everyone. Here we go, Oh my god, there we go. Take the toes. Yeah. I was just traumatized by watching to fly to the It's skittles inside his head. Excellent. Okay, that's really good. Oh wow, oh my god, it's I can't believe they made kwan chi whiss. Thought be impossible, but thank you. The detail on the ears is really impressive,

those vascularity fondant ears. Yeah. I really want to get a ce tip in there or something. They're they're aching for it. I'm lightly concerned we may have opened a portal to howl. But you know, yeah, it's just skittles, actually, I think so, Mitch, do you like this one? Or the robo call? Ye? Really good? Hey? Can I get an eyeball? You know what's exciting this is the skills is the only fruit he's gonna eat. This is the healthiest meal he's had in a

long time. Okay, are we recovered from that? Or but we may never recover from that. I had half a bite and I'm on a sugar rush. That's gonna list me a week. Hell yeah, grab do I still have a naughty in my beard? You're you no longer have naughty? Okay? I am. I am so relieved because like all weekend, I would walk into rooms. They would be like showing people his phone and people be snickering. Then they would see that I'm in there. Don't let him

see. I'm like, what are you doing? What did you think it was? You know what fucked up is that? I didn't think it was another cake of me? Never occurred to me. I thought that some wrestler was gonna come out here and kick me in the nuts or something. Yeah, note to sell, Yeah we take a kick to the nuts. No, but earlier today, really we were showing the Manatti cake around and Mike just sat at the table in defeat and just we truly were like, what

do you think is going to happen to you? And He's like, I don't know, Keenny Omega is gonna come punch me in the face. Likedangerously. Look, he was dangerously close one time to Kenny Omega feeding him a bunch of fruit. Yeah, that probably will still have so forget about that that might happen. Yeah, you never heard that. This isn't a green apple feeling? Is it this green thing? I don't know, I don't I did not see green apples brought up. I see green and I get

worried. Or maybe an apple component. I don't think it's green apple. Have you had green apple candy like Jollie Ranchers? Yeah? Disgusting? Really, Oh terrible. No, it's like a green butter cream. You'll be I'm gonna I'm gonna have a bite. You guys talk amongst yourself. I think it's more fucked up because you can see your eyes on this one, unlike the robocopcake. Yeah, it was definitely a better resemblance. Somehow, eating it was real weird. It felt good to stab myself though. Shoud

I see a psychiatrist the past. I enjoyed that process. That's a therapy. Yeah, yeah, you should all try to never mind. I shouldn't say that. How is the how is the Skittles cake combo? Is that pairing? Well? Right, I've got I've only had the Skittles so far and they're very good. Yeah, okay, yeah, all right, Hey this is giant bombito. Sorry, go ahead. Didn't he eat half a bag of skills? Oh? Like three backs of skittles in the last two

days? Yeah, you spent seventy five dollars on skittles. We did eat those slowly, but they're gone now there there. That's the thing though, because you ate a handful of skittles and I was like, Dan, I don't know if you should eat all of these skittles just now. No yesterday, oh okay, that was a handful. Now no, And I was like, Dan, I don't think should eat all this and you were like,

there's nothing to be done. I'll eat all of them. And then you kept eating them and then you were like, oh, I feel sick. Is it that I had to take them all away fro you hit them? And then I found them. And in the last two and a half days, I've eaten no less than like two thy five hundred calories where the skittles. See, weird, we're how that goes. My teeth are doing great, old behavior. The doctor knows all about this. Your skittles,

Like that's what you're don't ask you your skittles intake. They should clearly. I am so worried about my next Blake Club game now because like there's like a more than fifty percent chance it's gonna become a cake. Dan isn't actually wearing a like sequin jacket. This is what happens to your skin when you have a lot of skills. Yeah, just scales now, Yeah, what would be the worst cake that you can imagine? Adult, I'm not going over. That would be the worst game you'd have to play for by And

we were so close. Yeah, we were so close. It was right. We'll figure it out. Yeah, we'll get him absolutely Quantchi pretty up there. I got a set pretty good. That guy with the Quantchi fan account who discovered attempts, they're gonna be a real it's like Christmas for them about that account, right now, let him know I hate Hi Giant Palm.

How's it going. Hey, let's hear it for Almo too, even though he was kind of an asshole in that last segment, right yeah, real heel now, yeah, yeah, this is the beginning of his arc here, bring him back, young Alma redemption arc. I had fun with you all this weekend. This was a good time. I'm glad we did this. Yeah, this is excellent, and then tomorrow will be interesting as well. Tomorrow. Yes, we're gonna be right back back to work.

Yeah yeah, yeah, he's very excited. Get him extremely early tomorrow. Uh good. We want to talk about what we're doing, Manata. You want to Well, we're going to Disneyland, so I'm going there tonight to like get things ready. Wait wait, wait, wait, he's he's going there tonight to get things ready. And you're going in a park. Are you to walt? All right, children, listen like you can't just like mousey on over there from LA. It's very difficult. The ubers are very

bad. I've done it before. No, you have to do l A traffic. It's a rough time. I'm gonna be over there. I'm gonna wake up real early and just mosey on over walk through the World of Disney store. Maybe get myself some Mickey Shortbread cookies a Coke zero acause that's just how I roll. It's gonna be a good time. I'm gonna just stand in that weird area between the two parks where they play music. It's called the Esplanade. Fake fucking fan get his ass, so Hanna, he just

talks to himself. If anybody wants to know where to find him tomorrow, he's giving you very I was gonna say, I recommend if you know where he is, get further away from you want to have best friend. Of course, his best friend. I feel like killing him, mole. We're gonna have a good time. It's gonna be great. What do you think I'm gonna like the most. I think you're at the Caribbean a lot. Okay, No, you're like Indiana. Ju you. I bet you will

really appreciate the dull web situation with the theming. It's right down the river. There's gonna be a robot lady bird who's gonna say some things. It's gonna be good. I've had the Costco doul Whip and it is very good. Yeah this They have swirls here, so you'll get the pineapple and the cherry and like normally you say those words, I'm like grouse. But it's in Disneyland and that makes it Okay, you get why did you start him down this path? I feel like break Yeah, you know, peters himself

out like a toddler. So I went well, I went to Disney World a couple of times as an eighty year old and thought it was lame. And wo eight year old actually more open minded now than when I was eight, so I think there's a better chance I'll enjoy it now. Were you into when you were eight that Disneyland was like a terminator in Mortal Kombat? Yeah? Yeah, okay, yes, but I've never I went to Disneyland briefly for Disney Mickey Island. That's the one that's where I met Manati.

Yeah, I didn't think we did. We did a Star Wars ago, right, Yeah, we did the Star Wars stuff, and honestly, I was like, I can I get this. I put a bunch of care into this, Like it's obviously like if I was more into like all of the IP and everything, I would have been like super into it. So like I kind of get it. You love Donald Dutt, though, you do is play quack Shot, which John Dragson Quackshot is my favorite Disney thing. That. Yeah, No, I think I'll have a great time tomorrow.

We're gonna get shaken up and down on Guardians and you're gonna love it, don't Oh, It's so fun. Man we did ask Dan to name I believe what was it ten Disney characters, and one of the ones he said was Batman, so really really batting a great average there eventually get there you what are you working on over there? Jam? Oh? The feet? I have been eating MIC's feet? How are they not the first time it was? There's a cake last year? Yeah? All right, growth,

grab my moisturizers getting in my ear? Oh there it is all right? Get the camera off. Does anyone want a piece of MIC's foot? Are we allowed to? Wow? That was way too many people. Man, all right? How is the like inside of the skull? I've only like had the skintles. It's pretty tasty. The cake you mean? Yeah, the inside of your psychologically, his gooey insides are delicious. Yeah. Do you like it? Mike? Yeah, it's great. It's very moist.

It's like a red velvet situation. It's not an apple flavor of this green stuff? No, pan, Dan, which is a different fruit? What hand hand does? Okay? Now it's very nice. Is this the same person who did it last time? Oh? YEAHSD on Instagram Jane Michael Hyam, Yeah, Michael Higham. She has driven both of these Minatti kicks up from San Diego day of show both times, right, real soldier. It also does incredible work. It really. I just send an email where

it's like, Okay, there's this character Kuan Chi. Here's a photo to base the whole thing off where his eyes are kind of bulging and stuff, and just that comes out. She's incredible. We gotta work a little bit of like some social media magic, like another row massacre, a little bit that we made a quan Chi cake, right, yeah, we will call it. Don't ask why. It's kind of like fat in the cheeks and has a beard. Listen all tweet. I guess yeah, that's good.

Damn if you were gonna have a cake made of your head, would you want to be dressed up? I would never want to see my face on a cake. Eva. I think it would cool as an existential crisis. That's why I avoid mirrors. I don't need to be looking at myself, especially in edible form. But I had to. I probably do like a solid snake style thing, you know something, it'll be that'll be easy. I think that'll be a little delectable. Tim, you and I were in

the room today when they showed that new Snake Eater trailer. Oh yeah, Pakistan mentioned let's go you did it? That was like a religious experience. I think they might be doing this right. This might be really good. I was very, very excited by what I've seen a lot of people crying on the internet surprise that they're like, oh, I look so like personality less, and I'm just like, come on, man, what are you looking for here? It would be worse if they tried to inject like a

new personality. They did that one time. One person in the history of metlgear decided he could do Kajima better than Kama and his diak was Ryan Dennis diac ruined Melok. Look, I am a twin Snake's defender, so that you also eight two thousand calories worth of skills the other day? What do you know, every day like for two days in a row. Yeah, I think it was gameless good. You know, I love that game. I've played it millions of times probably at this point, so I'm excited to

see it come back. Maybe maybe it leads to something a little more meaningful than a remake, you know, but who knows what's gonna happen over there. We got to talk more about South of Midnight. Yeah, I was, honestly if I was like to pick the most surprising thing, the thing I had like a very little interest in too, Like I want to play that now. It is South of Midnight. Oh yeah, yeah in incredible.

Yeah, I won't know. It's going to just be like some kind of like a walk around and like choose one of three dialogue option things. You know, it's a real video game. Yeah. The funniest. The funniest thing was like we were talking about after and Mike was there on the couch and he was like, he was like, it might be a and then he looked around nervously and it was like a real video like who do you think is here? I don't know, And so he just said it

in front of everybody instead. Yeah. Yeah, well you know, I like to make everyone feel as uncomfortable as possible. It's good. Oh yeah, all good? Uh, Nikki, what was doing it for you? And stuff? The Midnight I think that there's a lot of space to be played, and like, especially in a post, Hey back there, relax, you're so loud. I can hear your conversations up here. Get them

on rough. I think like especially in a post Spider Verse world, right, Like the beauty of animation, right is that, like you don't need to adhere to convention because you can only do X number of things inside of a camera. When you have the breadth that you do when you're working with animation, you can do fucking anything, right. And I think even from the little snippet that we saw today of gameplay, like there's mix of frame

rates, which I think is really cool. It seems like they're a handful of different but like handholding kinds of art styles that are really working together, and like I'm really excited. I think it's also like a space that like we don't get to see that very like that often, that part of the country that we have to see that often. Like I'm amped, there's a big alligator. Yeah, the fu it was as good as hell. It's like a cool setting and a really great stylization on top of absolutely and then

it just looked like a really bad also black people. Yeah, the video games, so like Rules, It's like now it looks like something new and fresh and I haven't seen before. Yeah, it rules, Bailey, you enjoyed working with these fools this weekend? Mostly, Yeah, this has been a really fun weekend. This was actually my first time getting to go to Summer game Fest. That's right. I wasn't able to go last year, but then Backlar died this year. Right, Yeah, BROI the boy,

thanks for joining us for Bar's funeral. Yes, he's in the almost suit. It's a week in any situation. Shoot though, back of our I'm sure you're watching. We all do. Really, we miss you for this show. It is seen and appreciated, so thank you so much. Can we I'm a big fan of chance. Can we get a doctor hockey champ? Yeah, doctor hockey clap clap, clap, clap clap, doctor hockey

clap clap, clop clop clop. That's not for that. Yes, thank you back everything that you do, especially in particular and a selfish way not being here so that I could go. I did tell grap before this, like I would, trying to figure out what the weird thing would be is gonna be. I'm like if somehow like Baccalar is secretly well, we're worried about this a r gio. We all genuinely Mike doesn't know what that. I don't know anything, and I do not know. I don't think anybodys

know what the Jan knows what the arg is? No, No, Mitch, for shoot, I don't, you don't know. I know you don't. You don't know anything, but Jandos Jan knows a r g is is like a arge. I'm realizing yesterday when you asked me what a rg mist stood for, you were working me, weren't you. Yeah, nuke dot dot com, nuke dot com, nuke dot dot com. Go to nuke dot com. I guess nuke we have first clue. I honestly don't know nuke dot period com. I don't know what available a long day? Okay,

all right? Does anybody else think about Charlie Brown when they hear yeah? Okay, good? Always thinking about Charlie Brown? Em could you get in mind? What was it like putting this whole thing together? Well, it was a lot of work, but you know, it was very rewarding to go into a meeting when we were discussing the fact that we were maybe going to rent a space downtown this year and say, hey, I'm really

happy to do this. I need this many digits number uh budget to do that, and to have people say okay, sure, So yeah, it feels good to be trusted with it. But I'm also really looking forward to sleeping for at least a week. But I'm really really pleased with how it all turned out. You know. I had a vision for what I wanted the set to be at the Space Downtown, and I worked with a wonderful

production design Yeah, yeah, I was. I was very happy to see also that a lot of the PR people had a really good response to it as well, and said that it just immediately created a sense of feeling comfortable and at home. Yes, so shout out to my wonderful production designer, Benjamin Ralston, who is uh yeah, I mean like he's just great. And I had the most amazing team of freelancers working on this.
