Hey everybody, It's Tuesday, April twenty third, twenty twenty four. Welcome to the Giant BombCast powered by NZXT. I am your host, Jan Okhoa. Guys, we got a special episode today because we're doing a three hour spoiler cast for Rebel Moon Part two, and we got our the Snyder bros. Here. We got the biggest Rebel Mooner gooner. Yes, I'm gooding to Rebel Moon and it's happening. Everybody stop me. I don't care what

my parents say. We we we got the biggest Zach Snyder cut tweeter in the world, Dan Rikert, give me the elevator pitch for Rebel Moon what is it? And all bad Star Wars. Oh, we got an executive producer himself of Rebel Moon Part four. That's right, we're skipping three because we're so ambitious. We're gonna go straight to the director's cut for that one. Mike Minati. Yeah, Star Wars they started with four, we're gonna do four. Third. We're really looking at the future. Jeff, have

you seen part two? Because I get these ads for it. I'm like, man if Jeff Grubb as it's seen this because he's the only person in the world I know who at least watched part one and then they're in trouble. I've not watched it yet, but I will. I will make time

for part Part one is so inane. It is so like it's like hard to explain how bad it is. It just like actual figures bumping against each other with like no yeah, and that's like not even like not yeah, kind but not even the action figures have like character and something to that. It's worse. It's worse than that. Yeah, it's like you're just going to a place talking to a guy. The guy joins your team, you go to the next place, and that's the whole movie. It was a

build toward literally nothing. Maybe I'll find out in part two, I guess. And they gave Zack Snyder a Star Wars. Yes, well, a Star Wars, like yeah, a national Star Wars. I mean, oh okay, Netflix did to be clear, and it's not Star Wars. It's a bad it's a bad to rip off the Star Wars. Oh really, it is not licensed. This is not a Star Wars. This was his idea for Star Wars. It's seven Samurai is what is what he's trying to say I'm gonna make a Star Wars seven Samurai, which they've done a bunch

of times before. That movie just exists that it's good, and you probably there's like there's like fifty remakes of seven Samurai, but he's like, I'll do it in space. Just really shitty. And you got the Magnificent seven remake with Chris Pratt. Chris Pratt. Yeah, you think if I've ever liked Zack Snyder movie he uh, watch Man? Was he Since City? That one? Since he came out? I liked it. I don't know if I would like it. It's okay, what's the what's the undead movie?

He did dead? That was the old Batista the Dead? Oh okay, oh he did that old down the Dead. Yeah they like one or whatever? That was? Dan? You really you really like Legend of the Guardians the Owls of Gahoul, right, well of course, yes, yes, yeah, yeah. He did not do the Since City? But was he his sucker could not stand? I like to find at the time, so I once that was enough of that. I didn't like Man of Steel. I hate Man of Steel with a passion. I don't think I like

Superman. I like Superman fine. I just hate Man of Steel and like the weird like what a weird direction for Superman or that scene where like his father fucking dies in a tornado to save a dog and Superman is like, I'll say he like gives him a little like no, it's not worth it. I was about to die. I'm like, yeah, quick, Superman, sid hurry up. Who cares that they FRONTU? Your Superman will make

it work. We'll figure it out. I'm afraid of dying. I mean it was actually way worse than because there's a scene where he's like, should I let the bus full of kids die? And he's like, maybe that's what the dad says. He's like, wait, what, I was a hero. I just did the thing where I had a dumb thought and then I thought, oh wait, no, that's really stupid. And most people would just leave it in their brain, but I'm gonna say it. We were talking about Zack Snyder and I was about to ask if he was the

Snyder cut. Guy realized, not even putting the connection together, Oh that's just the name. That's of course, he's the Snyder's cut. Wait, so what was he made a Justice League movie? He didn't finish a Justice League movie originally because he had a family emergency, right what's his face? Stepped into finish it. Josh Sweden, Joshed uh reshot a whole bunch of stuff. The movie was apparently very drastically differ friend than house Snyder originally envisioned.

It was so Baddy got canceled afterwards exactly that's the only reason. Yep, yep, He's never done anything else wrong. Uh. And then Zack Snyder comes back in, and then uh with HBO, man want the Snyder cut, We want the Snyder cut. And then years later they gave him a lot of money to like finish filming it and finish for the post production, and they released it as a four hour cut on HBO Max and then like it it's actually okay, really yeah, I mean compared to what I

was expecting, it's kind of okay okay. And and here's the part where I think Grub and I are freaks. It's because they also made a version that was black and white, and is there is there also a four by three one? It's like, I think it's four by three? Yeah, And I'm just so into that shit. I was like, all right, let's do it. Okay. I definitely put that on as well. I watched it like the normal way first, and then I had that on the

background. Yeah. Yeah, so we're just all Snyder pilled here, everybody happening. Did y'all see that he's trying to get more traction for another Snyder cut for Sucker Punch? Oh? Gross? How is it not a Snyder cut? Originally? I don't know. I think that's just something he says to get more money. Now, yeah, at this point, now everything's Snyder cut. To be fair, there was like reporting that the Snyder cut stuff that, like the when the public was saying, hey, we want

the Snyder cut, we want the Snyder cut. Like he was like somewhat behind that and like responsible for like generating a lot of the toxicity there. So it seems like he wields this as a weapon, I think, and I think that's what's happening. Yeah. Other God, the director of Fantastic Four, the one with Michael B. Jordan, he started he started saying stuff of like just trank. Yes, he was like, well, you know, I didn't get my cut of the movie. Let me recut Fantastic

four and it'll make sense. You can't see that one you see, Oh it's wild. The best is uh whenever they because they did a lot of reshoots because like, at first, it's this movie that's really bad tickets, so seriously to try to fix it, they did all these reshoots, tried to inject MCU style humor in it, and you could tell because Kate Mara has this very fake look a wig on it. All of those seeds k back reshoots and it's like, suddenly these seeds have levity and one liners.

Yeah that's really fan's right, fantom stick it's uh, and yeah, Miles Teller is in it, right, that's him. That's fantastic. And it's weird because they caught him in an odd period of his career where he's just like a dork. Yes, it was really. It was very soon after Whiplash, so like you was still kind of the Whiplash kid at that point. Yeah, he's not not cool hot guy from Top Gun Maverick just like seeming with a shirt off. We should do that. We should just play

the Top Gun Maverick double football scene this summer game fest. You'll doe that movie on stage, I really? Oh yeah, yeah, just on a stage somewhere. Yeah, okay, all right, we One Republic should be fine to license, right. Oh yeah, they're they're chill, is what I hear about One Republic? Yeah? Yeah, how's everyone else doing? Besides you know, half of us getting drastically sick? Twenty third in the world at quackshot from twenty two top twenty. What is your goal here?

What's your what's what do you think? Are you not really thinking of it like that? I would like to get top twenty. I'd love to get a sub twenty five minute time. I don't know if I can go. Do you know about the long jump thing? Yeah, there's like a pause buffer long jump situation seems insane. I've tried to learn it. I've tried to, Like, I read how to do it, and I'm like, I don't even know if that's I don't even know what I'm reading. So

and I think you kind of needed to get in that upper echelon. But I'm getting really good and I'm still very improvable right now with my current strategies. So it's a fun, fun speed run. It's just way till I jump in there to push you, which I want you soon I go I have to give some more mythology attempts. Like last time I did that, it went very bad, so I took kind of a week off. I'm

going to go back in. It's I'm out a weird place right now with it where I got to really grind it out or try to learn like really hard new strets to save a few seconds, and just learning them is like very difficult, and it's kind of not happening and it's frustrating. So that's how I figure out my future. The fun part of speed running is when you start figuring out what to do, and like every time you play it,

you're getting a new PD. And then the rough part is when it's like, okay, I need like every second at this point, and your restarting runs from one tiny mistake. It's but it's so much fun. It's it's great finding the right game. Yeah yeah, yeah, Greb, it looked like you were gearing up to say something. Yeah, my daughter had a tick yesterday. That's what that's the season that we're in. It's tick season everybody and it's getting their tiktoks like man, it's right, yeah,

it's everywhere. It was she like like I got a bug on me. I'm like, what do you talk about it? Once to go check and there was just like an obvious tick right on her leg. It wasn't on there too long. But it's like, man, yeah, I don't think I went my entire life camping outside. I don't think I ever got a tick. Now, And then I've been you hearing the news forever. It's like they're everywhere, and now I'm like, Okay, this is what I'm

gonna have to deal with now. It was nice when we lived in Colorado, like I think the altitude made it so there we're way fewer of them, and now we're here in Ohio and that's like, yeah, I think

she just went out for recess came back with one one. It's testing for like you know, anything, so we're gonna like keep an eye on it for like rashes and stuff and things like that, like we will, but it's like we'd call the doctor and it's like there's not much you can do, so you just got to like kind of keep an eye on it. But it most of the time, they're like the tick needs to be on there for like thirty six to forty eight hours for that to happen. It

definitely wasn't on there anywhere near that. SOB, do you think you weren't susceptible to ticks because you would always wear those silver bracelets that warded off ticks and bad vibes and energy? Yeah? Yeah, am my shell necklaces. Yes, I think that, just like it let the ticks know that I'm cool and not to fuck with this guy. Okay, I went to the Smithsonian once and got a tick on my balls. All right, video games, my mom lit a needle on fire and had to put it on my

balls. Speaking about parenthood, no, I'm not gonna seguay to that. I've been playing an RPG, a tale as old as time. You didn't chronicles. Boys, this is a fantastic year for role playing games JRPGs, specifically year of RPGs. Right, we get we started the year with like a Dragon Rebirth, Dragon's Dogma two, or yeah, reload as well. I'm not going to give you Dragons Dogma two. We don't claim that. Well, not j RPG, just an RP that's an action adventure game for

cool dudes. That's that's like Zelda Ye. Speaking of Dragons Dogma two, I really gotta circle back to that, I feel like I fell off in a hard way during It's Cool, though Grub fell off really hard and then Dark much caught them. But iudn Chronicles is. I don't mean to be reductive when I say this, but it is as boiler plate and as normal of an RPG as you can get, and I think in a year with so many strong contenders, is very hard to decide to devote a substantial amount

of time to this. It's not that it's not doing anything new or it's not presenting anything well. I just I just don't dig anything about it, and nothing is grabbing me. It is a pretty standard RPG. You have a big party of six, which I enjoy. I like having a massive amount of people to command, and it's doing the thing where okay, cool, your turn orders displayed up top, go ahead and target enemies to get them out of that. There's team up attacks between certain party members if they

have some affinity towards each other. It does the two and a half D style, but I don't think it does it well. And it's really a bummer because when you have games like Octopath Traveler two Star Ocean from last year that really pull off this style and make it look flashy in a great way.

It kind of falls short of all of that, and also in like the three D world that you're navigating around, some of it is a little bit confusing as to what you can actually walk through that I wound up playing a lot of the game through the mini map, which is a bit of a bummer. That being said, I mean, like, if you were looking for a bog standard JRPG, this might be it for you. But like, even the story from the chunk that I was playing through wasn't enough

to grab me. It's not an Isa Kai where you're like you've forgotten your memories and you've wound up somewhere. You're just like a military dude with cool hook swords that remind me of key blades. So that enticed me for a bit, and you got a cool wolf guy in your party to begin with.

Like when you have something like Persona three reload in the back of your backlog, it's really hard to justify dedicating a lot of time to this because it's also follows like JRPG format, where the build up is so long to get to anything substantial of like a good set piece or whatever. Huh. So I've been curious about this. This is you know, made by the sweak it In guy, and it's supposed to just basically be you know, sweak it In with a new name, without you know, having to worry

about Konami. And they're very clearly or try specifically trying to be like, hey, swik it into. Everyone loves that game. We're going to try to make a spiritual success here, which is a tall order, like amongst the j RPG freaks, sweak it Into a toe up on such a high pillar. So I haven't played this yet, but just kind of seeing, you know, like like the meda credit or whatever is like a seventy eight or seventy six, which is upsetting for somebody who has this in their fantasy

critic. You know, I was simply hoping that there'd be more enthusiasm. I hear mixed things. I hear it's mixed. Yeah. Becau's people would give it like a hundred, right, yeah. Some people are like really into it. Then, like like Jason Schreier is a big sweak it In like two and I think five fan, and he's like this isn't working for me at all. So there's like Apartments like, oh, maybe I need to see it from myself. But like like Jan said, there are so

many, even just JRPG specifically this year. I mean, I still want to go and play like a Dragon if It and Wealth and even like trying to recommend this. There is a remaster of just sweak It into Amamon coming out soon. Apartment's like, man, that's probably the one I would still

really want people to play once that finally those released. I don't think it's out yet anyway, so you know, again, it's not like there's bad reviews for this, but I was kind of hoping that they were really gonna kind of recapture that sweak it in to Magic and this was gonna come mount and people be like, wow, this is you know, you can't miss it. Yeah, people, A lot of people do like it, but I feel like I can miss it. I think so like I've I've heard

nothing but like amazing things about Sweet in two. I missed it when I was younger, so I was kind of looking forward to this and Mike am I correct. Is there like a duck Party character in one of the swek it in games. I think they show up in like three or later, like there's a bunch of animal people. Yeah in sweak it in and it's it's there. They're always kind of fun. You just go to a village

like we're people. So you know, like the whole point of Sweeking or one of its main hooks is that there's a recruitment system in it where there's you kind of have like a home base and you recruit people to come to your base, and a lot of them can be party members, but other ones are like I'm going to run the items shop. Er uh, you

recruited me, so now you have toeleportation and stuff like that. There's a bit of like that Pokemon got to catch them all thing, and yeah, like there's a lot of wacky characters, you know, like duck people or yeah, when you have over one hundred characters, you can just get really wild with it, right, So yeah, exactly, And like it's weird because like in other games, like Cronocross was saying it isn't jump there.

I didn't like how there's like a million different characters you can recruit, but it works really well here because there is still kind of like and Sweak into two, there are still the five or six characters that didn't matter for the story. As Kinder said, the other one, like, hey, and you have a party size of six, so it's fine. Like, yeah, I'm gonna have like the three important characters here and then like three goobers in the back row. So that's fine. But yeah, and I'm glad

like it is still six person party size. That was always another nice thing about sweek it in it was really large over there. I'm trying to figure of if I want to check this out or not, if if this game is on game Pass. I haven't. I believe it's on game Pass. Well yeah, yeah, that that may be the route to go. Then did you get the shark? I did need the shark? People I saw

the shark. I did not get the shark. He looks like but like grub when I could potentially be romancing like a robot AI lady in Persona three. Oh So that's what got That's what got you feeling better about Persona three you met? I guess you know, maybe it's why did anyone tell me this before? Uh, it's it's it's just hard to to again to justify

my time towards towards Iden chronicles. Maybe I'll circle back, but even then, like just the look of it, I'm not super in love with the two and a half D style as is, and you have to really pull it off, like and be flashy about it like Octopath does, uh for for it to like get its hooks into me. But yeah, that's a little bit of a bummer. Iden Chronicles, what's the game P S one RPG? I'm thinking of where you put CDs into your PS one most there

we go. I don't know why I thought that was sweak it in for a while, but maybe I just have ducks and monsters confused in my head. That's fit. Dus are monsters, absolutely. I was just gonna say I was just real quick on I would just like looking at them, like, yeah, I thought it looked better like visually when I remember first hearing about it, and now I'm like looking at stuff now, I'm like, oh, yeah, this kind of does look a little bit off from what

I'm expecting. I don't hate the way it looks, but I don't know. I think I like how dynamic the camera is. I don't know what that's working for me so much in these battles, but I like the sprites I'm less in love with the way like the big just three D model enemies look and how they don't really seem to match it entirely, but I could deal. It looks good enough for me. Also a question for for y'all, where do you land when you're playing an RPG and there is no health

meter for the boss? Oh oh, I'm very I'm so Final Fantasy pilled. I'm completely normalized with that. I can betely fine with it. I don't mind if as long as I have a scale or there is an available skill to see how much HP the boss has, if I could do that, that's that's fine. In fact, I'm gonna say I like it. I'm gonna I'm gonna go all the way there. I like it. Not knowing. I like that I have to like really be careful at all times. Maybe a boss is like has ten HP left, but I'm still really

like scared and focused. In fact, one of my favorite JERRYPG memories was beating the Final Boss and Final Fantasy eight and doing all these limit breaks that were doing like like you know, fifty thousand damage each turn, and then it was like a long fight and so I didn't know what to do. So I had my guy Irvine, who just has a fucking gun, just use a normal attack while I was trying to think about what to do.

It just like shot her in the face for twenty damage and then like woo, you know, I know, the very dramatic death scene starts playing out. So yeah, I'm pro no health bar. Yes, yes, Jeff Grubb, Yeah, I just I just had the thought in my brain that I wanted to get out. What would a Monster Rantur Nuzzluck run look like? Would it be like to go around your room and you find the closest CDs to you and you have to use those? Oh yeah, and then if that monster dies, right, you have to break that CD. All

right, Dan, you're playing Monster Rancher. You're doing Ano Lock Run, Congratulation and Pokemon. That's all you need to know. O y, Monster Rancher. I use rob Zombies, Hell Billy Deluxe and Kid Rocks Devil without a cause you probably monspable. Yeah here's an idea. All right, let's all go load up Monster Rancher. But let's go to our local thrift store with five dollars, ten dollars and load up on as many CDs as we can. Okay, pretty good. I like that. I like that played

monster Richer. I was like to my heart was already too filled with the digimon and Pokemon. I had no room for it. Oh so I didn't like the way that eyeball monster looked. I thought that stupid. Sure, what's pretty dumb? What CD do you think would be the most likeliest that we would all end up with. I'm gonna say Jagged Little Pill. Yeah, Dane Cook's like first comedy album. Yeah, that monster sounds terrifying. Dukie, Uh, Dukie's probably a good pull. Uh funk. What's his

name? The puppet guy? Oh, Jeffdunham, Yes, Jef Dunham's for a special there, here you go there. I'm just gonna put a bunch of mcgerber blu rays in and see what happens. You see those fancy pants over at kind of Funny with their like special sprites, and they're just like, Wow, Yeah, Andy, Andy did that stuff. Jez's very cool

better than us. There's parts where yes they are. I was supposed to join John Luke and Jake Decker for a tour of the Kind of Funny studio to see how it's run and John Luke kindly sent me photos and I cried a little bit. I'm like, ah, well, I'm telling you guys, dude, Ohio, we could get real cheap space here. I'm going at the studio. It great. I want I want to see the video of Mike Minatty building a studio just like Cale. I just like I just

walk into a room with nothing but a hammer. I'm like, let's go. I just bring an N sixty four. That's my contribution. It's like, all right, okay, cool, cool, cool, cool, Still sticking on the JRPG train, Mike Manati, you put on the dock here, Unicorn Overlord. Yeah. I got into this finally after being delayed because of Persona three reload. I was pretty curious to check this out. I like Vanilla War's other games. I know other people have talked about this on

here. Sean dipped out after ten hours, and I'm actually past that ten hour mark now I'm like twelve hours in and I am really liking it. Atkay, this is doing a lot for me for some reason. Like the art is, of course incredible, but so even though it like it looks more like an auto battler quote unquote at first, it really is a lot like Fire Them still, because you know, you're basically just moving characters around.

When they come into contact with each other, they start fighting. That's you know, what's happening on any tile based games just there's no tiles. But just the idea that it's not one person find another person is that you are making these whole kind of you know, uh units, right, these troops with multiple characters and the way they interact with each other, and you can kind of combine weaknesses or you kind of like focus on one big strings

to try to cover up weaknesses. That way, you're just constantly coming across new characters, like like the recruit rate is very high compared to a fire Almost like every battle there's like one or two people. Like just recently, I'm like, man, I can't get I can't get all these fuckers at my party anymore. It also sad because I like a lot of them. They they look uh, you know, they're all kind of interesting, they're all sort of fun. So for some reason, like how seriously the game

is taking itself. For the most part, this is not a game that has time for jokes or much levity. It's you know, everything's kind of a serious as a heart attack, and uh, I don't know, I kind of appreciate that at this point. That is dark vibe that you off. Yeah, Jeff gets it. Yeah yeah, all right, moving on. Uh I see here, last thing real quick. Oh yes, that demo's insane. I was able to play it down for seven hours before it kicked me out. Oh yes, I love. I love a good lengthy

demo. It's like almost two jars. Like, man, you guys look like I was good after two hours. I'll keep playing like this if you want to, Jeez and you and how did it transfer to the final game? Like very easily? Oh yeah, it's just like hey, now you save it, and then when you're like you open the real game, it's just gonna load like load that like it's a safe out because I'm like two hours in and I was like, I want to get back to it.

Okay, Well I'm gonna do that. I'll just keep playing the demo until it kicks me out. Well, there's so many people I know who will probably be good with this game after like the demo time, and that's fine speaking about lengthy demos. Uh. The Hades two Tech Test came out late last week. I was able to get in. Jeff Grabb, I believe you also got in. Yep, holy shit. Hades two is very good because it's like Hades, which is very very good. It turns out if

they make another one of those, it's pretty good. Yeah. I'm like, I've done just a handful of runs. I'm not like trying to burn out this game immediately in the tech test or anything like that. But the first things I noticed is it's very familiar, like it's it's doing a lot of the stuff that Haites did. The character is different. It's not Zagriusa, it's not Zagrius. I don't know, I can't. I don't know this character, thank you. Uh, but she feels a lot like Zagrius

and uh. And then like in a lot of the strategies of like mixing up your cast with your main attack, with your heavy attacks, with your dodge, with your sprint, make sure that you're keeping things like flowing pretty good good all still works, and that stuff came back really fast, and it's like immediately like the game just looks better than just about anything else trying to be this this style, and then it feels better than anything else.

Uh, and those two factors alone have made Hades two immediate, Like just yes, I am having a good time with this. Does this character feel like much different to play than Zagrias? I heard that, like maybe there's a bit more of a magical kind of witches player to her. Yes, she I think they even frame her as a witch. I think they call her witch several times. And also there is like a mana bar on top

of your life bar. Do you have that instead of like the kind of like weird throwy things that Zagrias has or is that on top of that? I think it's on top of that. I misremembering a lot of Hades despite playing an obscene, right, you still have a projectile and you have a cast, and it's like, I think the cast is like taking from the mana bar oh right, right right, You're like little diamond cast thing from

the first game. Now there's just like a mana bar where you can throw a projectile, but if you charge up your projectile it burns some mana. Right, I think all of your charged attacks, like you could do a charged like main weapon text. Well, I think that also takes away from your mana and mana mana h and then it really uh, it really adds to the level of resource management where some of your boons will benefit you if you have full mana of like okay, well you do a little bit more

damage. Uh if you have full mana or you get like a crit bonus. It's the same type of like really good characterization and character writing that you got in Hades one. Even in this early tech test, they do a good job at introducing you to these new characters. You're in a very different setting and you're not fighting Hades and Hades too. I kind of I kind of really dig it in that you are fighting time because you're gonna fucking kill

Chronos Mortal Kombat exactly. It's exactly like moratl Conron and yeah, it lets you fight up to the first boss, and the first boss is like a teacher of your is uhikat beer. That's that's from Texas. Yeah, there's in another video game that sounds familiar. And this is getting all the Greek mythology juices like flowing again of like yeah, I remember this name, let's learn about you and stuff like why are you hot as hell? Because they're

in Hades two. Yeah. Yeah, it's like kind of remembering what I like about Hades in terms of like, oh, I came back from this run and I'm ready to get back out there. I don't know if I want to talk to these people. And then the first person says something that's like so specific specific to what you just did, and the fact that that's happening already in the tech test, it's like, oh, yeah, they just do rug lights better than anyone else. No one else is close to

this. This is it's really special and it feels that way again already. You when you start each run or after you res from a failed run or a successful run, I guess you have the option to pet a frog and I really like that frogs. No just ribbets, Okay, that's cool. Petty frogs is fine. I'll allow that. Okay, okay, no petting dogs. But yeah, it was over it, even even with Sarahbis or whatever and what edge lord, I know, right, yeah, people are

always saying this. I'm so glad that they did just make a sequel, even if like, yeah, of course it's going to feel a little saving in some ways, but I'm glad they did this round instead of you know, Dead Sounds released a lot of good deal. See, and and that's nice. Uh, but I prefer like just having this, you know, we're going right to another big new release instead of kind of getting piecemeal pieces

of content and new things to check out every now and then. Yeah, like dead Sales gets to a point where it's like there's a lot here. This feels maybe bloated. I don't know where to start, Like what is like I played the game when it came out, and now there's all this stuff. Do I want Casylvania in it? Now? It's just cool? But also like I kind of wish I was a separate game and I'll play the Cassylvania stuff. But then like I always see that, and here's the

five other things that I didn't touch. Do I want to interact with that stuff? I think I am interacting with some of the Like it's like hard to keep track of here. When it's like a full separate sequel, it makes it very easy just contain all the new stuff in one space. Yeah, and I feel like, uh, you know, because super Giant is Super Giant, they're gonna stick the landing. Because I feel like Spelunky two in Rogue Legacy two didn't quite hit the mark in terms of like recapturing that

same vibe from the first. I'm so excited for both of those, but it's like and there's nothing like wrong. No, no, they didn't add enough really, you know. And then the thing that differs. Instead of like the skull modifiers you would have in Haiti's one, you're using ash to like kind of unlock these like tiled tarot cards that are linked to each other, so it'll be like, all right, when you enter a room or when you exit a room, you'll get like plus five HP back, or

your your AOI will do a little bit more damage stuff like that. And you're using uh, you're unlocking not subway weapons, but like sub items because you quickly unlock a pickaxe that you can use to mine material, so you can get that material to unlock a new weapon. So it feels like they've got the loop on lock even more so this time, where god, it looks so pretty and it just looks good on the O lead so jelly, So I feel like they got the loop on lock. And then I fell

into the trap of like, oh shit, it's a fishing hole. Let's go, Oh, I don't have a fishing rod. Yeah, and on the fishing rod, and it's you like mentioned like you could pet the frog. It's like, actually, you confide in the frog and you pet them while you do that. And then there's a corner in your room, yeah, with your with a picture of your family, and it just says like the action there is just brood, like you're just gonna brood for a while.

I'm like, okay, yeah, the game does. What they're doing, are one to brood? Are one all the time, And and it seems like they're gonna have the similar thing where you're building out the hall in Hades one, but you were filling up a cauldron to unlock more stuff like the shopkeeper opening up other other people to enter this uh the sticks or whatever

they're calling it in Hades two. I'm very excited. This tech test, I also feel is very very generous because it even tells you after you beat the boss once of like, hey, this is really early, y'all. If you beat this five times, you're going to pretty much get what you need out of it. You don't need to like evaluate it too much from here on out, like this is all we got, but holy shit, Haites two, God damn it feels like they're holding holding a lot back,

which is good. And I am someone who does occasionally like early access. It's not like I'm doing it for every single game or anything like that, but this is one where I think I'll probably pay attention. So I like to see how a game changes over time, and I'll be paying attention to this one. One of the new gods. Apollo wasn't in the first one, right, don't think so? Okay, Apollo is one of the newer

gods that you can befriend. I also like the different relationships that you wind up having with the returning gods, like Poseidon, just because it's a completely different character than Zagaris in the first one. And I like so far how Milinoa is written. I also like saying Milina way way Karen Charon is there, not Karen the store guys, It's Karen Karen. Yeah. But okay, all right, wonderful. I saw that Aphrodite did last time, but

like, somehow she seems even more aggressively new this time. Well, you know some time has passed, you know, your style evolves, and uh, speaking about styles evolving, we check this out on a upf maybe like a month or two ago, Dan, you've written down here Children of the Sun. Yes, I beat that in a couple of sittings, and real quick, how long is thisause I started playing it and I'm like, I don't know how long this can sustain, but I'm still having a good time.

Three to four hours would be my guest. Okay, Dash, that's perfect here. Okay, I'm gonna get back in there, and then my thing is, Dan Brook, I'll let you go after this. I was trying to get high scores in each level and it's like, yes, I know about this because the reason I played this was I was talking to Mary Kish on the Last fire Escape and she was like, motherfucking Jeff Grubbs like a few levels early on where he just got like insane, like some of

them are like top one hundred scores and you didn't go past that. And I was like, yeah, this is what he fucking did with Neon White, where he just played this ship out of the first like chapter and got crazy scores on it and just didn't go past that. It's it sucks being perceived, oh man, So yes, that is actually what got me playing it, And yes, I saw I had you ad me on team.

So I could see your scores and they are obnoxiously good. But then at a certain point you just got to you know, it's it's it's the marathon, it's not the sprint. You know you were when Mike beat us in Neon White. Yeah, yes, I got you brought open again. We should go in, go in. Okay, I don't remember what the hell any of that. You're invited because I think you won. I think you won. Yeah. Oh, but Yell and I were bonding over Lorkana recently.

By the way, all right, all right, that you did have that conversation off air, mikel we'll talking about Children of the Sun right now. It is. I had not played it yet. I wouldn't make you feel bad. You're getting you in chance, Sorry, Dan, go ahead.

I watched that Steam next pest. I was on that stream, and so I watched one of you play it, and I just I don't think I realized how just everything is on the mouse and it works so well, Like it allows a great variety of things you can do from just like moving around, aiming, doing the mid air bullet stuff, the things that like unlocked that you can do with the bullets, like that game has a very frequent I'm calling an upgrade path because you're not getting like skill points or anything.

It's just like suddenly you'll be on a level and it'll be like, hey, now you can do this cool thing. And then all the levels it's like it's like Mario Galaxy too. It's like every level there is something new and exciting happening. No, it's more it's giving you a different new thing you can do each other. Yeah, so by the end, by the end, you're thinking a lot of different stuff you can do instead of

just like, oh, bullet goes here, bullet goes there. You know, does do you find yourself in in a spot where, uh, you're kind of stuck because you've been introduced to so many mechanics where you don't know what to do? Okay, cool, Nope, Nope. Like there, I would say there are like five to seven maybe maybe like five ish cor mechanics. Like for instance, there's one mid to late game where it's like certain enemies will have weak points, so like their arm will be like really

glowy and glittery and stuff. And if you hit two week points on enemies, you get a store of the uh, you get like one pip where it'll allow you to mid flight of the bullet, you can click a button to just stop it or at least slow it down dramatically and fully re aim, because at a certain point you can like kind of do like the Jumper or Wanted whatever it is, where you can kind of bend the bullet.

But then later on it's like you unlock this thing where you can just straight up re aim and look anywhere and then shoot a bird which will give you a better vantage point on this guy down here by the train tracks. And it's, uh, it's really fun and it's like the exact right length. It does some little like interstitial stuff between the levels just to like kind of mix it up and everything, but yeah, no real complaints about it.

It's so solid. When I was looking at it a bit, and I know there's like a bit of a story thing like you escape the cult or something like how much of that story stuff is there? And did you pay attention to it? It's overbearing. I mean each most levels have like a short little animated thing at the beginning, but it's just like it just it feels like pretty boilerplate, like yeah, you escape the Colt and it's like some farc right five shit and it's like you, honestly, it's fine.

It's like vibes though, right, Like it's like kind of like setting up the mood and that's about it. So yeah, yeah, it's just like, Okay, this cult leader is clearly an evil guy and you're gonna wind up going after him like that. That's it. I'm not making this up. Is there like a mini game where you clean the gun and it's like turns into like a little arcade game. Yes, that's correct. Yes, so they're like literally interstitials like that as well. Yeah, kind of car

based and yeah. Yeah. Is it always just like a sniper? Uh? Bullet Dan? Or does that ever change? It's always a bullet? Ok? Yeah, I'll give you a bazooka in the last level. Nope, Nope, nope, just to just snipe and the whole time. Someone please mod like a water gun. I just want to see how that would work. Yeah, I'm just I just want every game to be Splatoon, to be honest. I'll get in there and I'll finish it and I'll get my scores right for all those levels, Dan, no worries. Nice.

Nice, I don't believe you, Jeff, grubbed. I'm gonna do it. Dan record, you also put up here on the document Delta emulator. Okay, I know it's an audio podcast, but do you see what I'm doing with my phone? This is three D works perfectly because I was thinking

because it's it's it's main look like Nintendo consoles. It's got you know, any as game Boy, game Boy bands, super Nintendo stuff like that, but you can do DS and it's like, okay, well I'll throw some ROMs on there all, but like, I don't know how many like DS games are gonna work well. And it's like, wait a minute, the uh, Pacross three D is just touch screen and it's just the bottom screen and I downloaded a new skin that filled up more of the screen and I

had a little stylus and the style of stuff works perfectly. So I'm just straight up playing through Pacross three D again and it's working perfectly. And it's just on my phone. It's got save states, it's got like and if if you want to do other games and stuff, you wanna do RPGs and stuff, it's got the fast forward stuff, the save states. It's just a fully featured emulator. You can airplay it to your TV, so you could like put a backbone controller on it and just like travel with all of

your retro consoles, minimal lag. I would say, airplay it to a t TV great for like planes and stuff. It's any Bluetooth controller. I played it with some eight bit dou stuff. It's uh, it's really fucking good. And we're never going to talk about this again because it's gonna get shut down after this podcast. It is. I mean, I think Apple blot it on there. I think it's probably okay. I think we should

be okay. I don't want fair to be fair. Like when Dan's talk about this, I'm like, yeah, it's been on Android for like ten years, like yeah, so like it's not been taken that from Android. I think we're gonna be fine. And it's just super clean. It's just like you know, box art and stuff, so separated by system. Like everything everything I tried works increas just smooth and easy. I've had people that aren't really into emulation stuff that have reached out to me, and it just

like this is such an ease of use thing. You know, I don't have to go into a mister, you don't have to learn retro arch or anything like that, and you just always have it with you. It is a excellent emulation option. It looks neat. I still have the problem I have with almost all mobile game where I just don't like playing games on my phone. Ie're nervous about all the battery I'm ticking up, and I don't

like using the little digital buttons. I think this is my thing. I don't like playing phone games, but I like playing games that I like on my phone, Like I can crashed out of my phone now, buck bumble, yes, don't get yes, okay sweet? Are you playing Quackshot on your phone? For shoot? Yeah, I have with like the touch that I know you said no, no, no no, So that's the thing it has. Like if I want to load up oh I'm sorry, I'm sorry. No no, no, not Quackshot. What was I playing?

I'm playing that on the I and E O flip. That's right. This is just any stuff. But like if I wanted to load up Donkey Kong Country or something, yeah, you can do it with like the overlay. So it's got that touch screen stuff. But I don't want to play like that. What I would do is just hook up like an eight bit dough or put it in a backbone or something like that. Sure, and then it's just you know, it takes the hud stuff off the screen and then

you're just playing Donkey Kong Country. Yeah, and I like that. I do. I do think It's definitely something I did a lot early on with Android. Uh, I just lost the taste for it, I think because what Mike said, I just hate thinking about my battery draining on my phone. I used to have that same feeling, but I think for me personally, I've just uh just I just carry an extra battery pack with me at

all times, especially like traveling or whatever. I'm definitely gonna put you know, extra battery packs, especially because like I use this so much now for like video on top of like photos and shoot stuff that like I just have this, uh shouts out to like this this mag safe charger here, because like this bad boy saved my life during WrestleMania started using those magnetic ones. Yeah, that does make a difference, folks. I can't believe I forgot

to tell you this one even better than Picross in terms of use. Case for this Warrior were twisted. It just works. That's fantastic rotating it and all that stuff is built into the iPhone gyro staff. Next thing. Okay, your phone has a light sensor on it. Oh, okay, Nicky's gonna get activated wherever they are. Oh, I wonder Bochtie works. This is what I'm saying. Oh, okay, I do think I saw my brother using a leafage with it and it seemed to work. That's good,

Nicky, time the door down Vampire's son. Okay, I forget the Nikki lore here. Did Nicky not play bock Tie and they have just a cute fascination? Did they just think about back tie a lot? Yeah? Which we all? Yeah, you know what? Okay, Okay, Nicky played a lot of Okay, okay, all right, cool cool cools A fun thing to say. I was thinking the same thing. Yeah, there's something you get from Chinese restaurants like beach sprouts and something delicious. So next week's

BombCast game section is just gonna be as all playing bock Tie. I would would. I haven't played that since I was a child. Eclipse happens in Ohio and half of us suck uh dan I I was pretty uninterested in hearing about this until you mentioned the ability to pair a Bluetooth controller you because like,

I hate the touch buttons. I never get down with it. I would never do that unless like the only time I'm fine with it is with like warriorworar Twisted, where it's just an a button, so I'm just turning and hitting a basically. And yeah, God, there was this top down three v three shooter on the iPhone that I played a lot of, and then I think I played one or two games with Rich Gallup and his son, and I played it way too much that like it reactivated the tendonitis in

both of my hands. Nice that I had spent years trying to heal. Nice. I forgot what the game is called brew Hall of Brawl is the Smash Brawl Stars. Oh my god. Started feeling my risk getting weird ever since I started Quackshot speed running, and I'm like, oh, the Tyson stuff is coming back, the old tys. My risk feels pretty weird. From when I fell down rollerblading. Oh yeah, that happened for the weekend. I was all wrapped up all weekend was so that's not helping us.

I'm telling you, guys, it's all that fruit just making all your joints weak. I was gonna start the mic check questions this week by saying how much I love eating fruit because it's delicious, but I didn't want to offend you. Mike. Uh. Well, you know, we're all a bunch of injured, broken men at this point, but we can't rest. Just

like Mike Manata, You've put here no rest for the Wicked. This is the new game from Moon Studios, The Orri and the Blind Forest Slash or in the Will the Whist People. This is on Early Access now on Steam.

Very different kind of game. This is a top down action RPG, but really taking a lot of its cues from souls like right, so don't think Diablo here, like if you played like Bastion, right, A bit like that little bit like I suppose, but not Yeah, again, very souls like kind of the big thing here because it's Moon Studios you played or

you know, just how go just those games are. This game is again very pretty, very different kind of feel here because it is like that kind of grim dark souls like you know, grimy fanity sort of thing, monsters and all that stuff. So so you know, there's a lot to like aesthetically and like the combat self does feel good and the animations are incredible.

The systems right now are are a little confused. I think they're actually not taking enough from souls games at the moment, Like there's a couple of things they aren't doing that's just kind of making things awkward, Like you don't actually collect souls and that's not like the thing happens when you die. It's like,

oh, you gotta go back and eat your souls. When you die, you just go back to the last bonfires type thing you went to and you lose little like item durability and you have to go back to where you were. So but this combined with you don't have the potions right, so you have like the three flasks or whatever. Here you have a whole cooking system. You can cook food, and then you have those and you can

eat them. But because you only have so many of those, a lot of times I'm like, well, if I'm not gonna lose experience for that, I'm just losing some weapon or ability. I guess I'll just die instead of wasting my food now when i know I'm going to need that for a boss. So a lot of the time I'm just taking deaths and backtracking a lot to get back to where I was. You know, I was like in a dungeon. It felt like a lot of times like all right,

I kill one enemy, then the next one kills me. Then I just go all the way back there and get a little bit further, you know again, like that's kind of how duxeles work, But there doesn't seem to be that feeling of progression. It's it's also it's hard, even harder than like a souls like usually is for me. Bonfires don't restore your health, so it really is just die or eat your food. Oh yeah, I mean like you and you know, you dodge or you parry, and that

perry window is very small. I was having a hard time getting that working on a lot of things. And just like anytime there's like more than one enemy. There was this guy who would throw like fire bombs or whatever at me, and he was so good at throwing these fire bombs. It would just get me pretty much every time. It's like one hand, it's like one, well, there's half my health and I don't I'm not gonna eat

food. I'm not going to ever recover health. So oh no, you know, I wonder if there's a bit of that kind of reverse difficulty curve that these games have, where like that first few hours is always brutal, and then you start like learning abilities or even healing spouse, you get a weapon that has leech on it and that will help you out a bit more. So. I yeah, I think just like some of those system stuffs need to be fine tuned. Again, it is early access, and if

it feels pretty early accessy performance is not good. It's a pretty intense game, like especially when you're outside and wins Bunk again, it looks very pretty, but my thirty seventy TI or whatever was struggling even on performance mode to have anything resembling a steady frame rate on this one. Is there like a antiplayer or does it seem like they're gonna have multi layer going to add multiplayer?

Yes, so it's not in there, right, And I think that would help, honestly, because like again, especially when it's like me one versus two or one versus three, just like weird things like there's like this pretty long kind of like dungeon I went through, and again like you can't ever heal and it's just difficult, and like like a good ways into it, I encounter a new enemy type for the first time, and it's this big guy with a thing, and it's like, I know, this guy

hits me two times, I'm dead. I just don't know any of their attack patterns or anything like that, so you know, I guess I'll die and then I do. I'm like, you really don't want to like go

through all of that again. How do you feel about like Roague lights, like haities where that is kind of the idea where you're probably gonna get through something and you are going to die the first time, or you could die the first time and then you're gonna learn and get better and all that stuff in haites because you know, every time you die, you're you're kind of

playing the game again. And that's the other thing like using a bonfier dying, it doesn't repopulate the area, so really is just an empty track to get back to where right I was. And yeah, that's confusing to me. I don't know if that's just in this kind of first tutorial area, which which I'm just now past. I did fight like the first big boss and it was like, you know, a pretty neat boss and it looked pretty and big and intimidating. It looks very heavy mic with like the character.

I don't know if it's just a specific uh character build that I'm watching right now, but it looks very weighty, and I don't know if I'm digging that it's very weighty now. It again that kind of goes into the souls like thing right where uh and like you know, like literally dark souls, not something like Secroo or maybe you're a bit lighter, a bit more agile. It is very much Hey, you are going to have to time your dodge rolls or your pary's if you're going to have any kind of real

chance here. And it was just especially that again that Perry window was as unforgiving as it comes. At least early on, I was having a difficult time with that. This is a very drastically different looking game than or Will of the Wisps. This is like played opposite like of course, like RI is going to be more my speed for multiple reasons. It is like the more colorful, cute kind of like traditional animation. One. It's a metroidvana, which is a genre I just you know, like a bit more.

I think there's definitely something here I think. I mean, they released this early access version right when the Haities two technical test was happening, right, so that's maybe a little bit rough for them. But it seems like it's getting a lot of attention though, and you know it's getting attention. It's like reviews on Steam are kind of a mixed right now. Guess what people don't like? Weapon durability really too weird. Yeah, I bet this game

will benefit a lot from early access, though. I bet they're gonna be able to make something that will be much better in the end. To their credit, they've already been releasing a bunch of patches. I think there's like, you know, it's been like a week and drastic changes to the game. I was reading some of those patches and it's like, seems like they were making some big differences already. In fact, like in the first area, like all the repairs were free on weapon durability and stuff, and I

was like, is that a patch that did that? Because everybody was complaining about that, and it's nice, but again then it's like, well, now there's no penalty for dying, so again, why would I ever waste my food? I kind of wish they would just get rid of this cooking food system and just put in the flasks right like again, like, look, you're you're so clearly just trying to be top down dark Souls. I would embrace it even further at this point. Just go for it. Just

go for it. Uh, Dan, you talked about this briefly at the top of the show, But do you have anything else to say about Quackshot. It's a good video game. Uh, you should play it. I want to watch Mitch speed run it. I like watching Mitch on Twitch. Uh. And uh, he's a good speed runner. And really, Mitch, that would have been good really branded with that on Twitch. You should play Quackshot. It's a good game. So it's the best, the most fun speed run thing I've tried out. Fantastic. Yeah, I know I

would love it. I mean I like quack Shot a lot, did ever since I was a kid. I would like go back to the game, Like every like six or seven years, I'd go back to Quackshot. Inevitably at some point. It looks like a great speed you know, as much as I like running mythologies, it is, you know, like forty minutes to complete a speed run there, and I used to be like an hour, so it is a lot, so something that is more like twenty five

thirty minutes or whatever. Yeah, what's what's top what's the top time? Looking like? Damn top time right now is twenty three forty three by geewe, which, by the way, shout out to the speed run community geewee and Jim time John people have been helping me out. Draco, like, yeah, there's something about the speed run community. I saw this with Tyson

as well. Yeah, is like and mitches seeing this with mythologies. It's like you start streaming these old games that have these kind of like smaller communities that are doing like the speed running stuff, and they will pop up and watch and give you tips and things like that. Everyone's just kind of like rooting for each other. Like that's part of why I want Mitch to do

it, is like I'm going to root for him. It's like as much as I want to compete with him and beat him, I want that back and forth, like you know Greb and I had with an aster bot. Yes, yep, yeah, so it's speed running community seem pretty awesome for what I was just funny about the astropot thing. I was. I was in there also, Dann, but we didn't really know each other at the

time than you were like no one was perceiving, weren't very good. You were competing with Jeff and I was competing with Jeff, but we weren't really competing with each other. Think you were around at that point the enemy in Canada. Yeah, I was still emerging from the Minati spawning. Yeah. Yeah, you were like like majin boo, like you were in the background the whole time. It just wasn't like around yet, formless and void. Yes, So I encourage anyone who wants to look into a quack shot speed

runs fill out that later board. It's it's got a it's got a pretty healthy How many are on there right now, there's like forty four on the rounds compared to the ten that are in mythology. That's a that's a bustling community. Sure, I would like to stream in my own time more. And I'm thinking, like, you know, maybe I'll maybe I'll take a stab at some speed running and then like fun, maybe like August September might better for me. I know this is like fucking months ahead, but perhaps

I want to get on the quiet man speak. See what that is? It does that exist? I think we looked at it like a couple of months ago and it wasn't insane. There are five Oh well, they're all like an hour twenty to an hour thirty one out shorter than I was expecting, to be honest, with a lot of quiet man. To run a game, you play it a lot. Yeah, a lot of donkey kicks. Do you think the dialogue affects the run at all? Or no? Oh? Yeah, if it does, people will I mean, you watch

anyone's run and you'll see exactly what they're playing on. Oh that's true, that's true. Okay, all right, I got I gotta hit the lab. I gotta go investigate final game before we go to break here. This game, I'll say it's game of the week. Tales of Kenzara Zoo yep. I beat this loss of it? Yeah? What was would you clock in at GREB I want to say, like around eleven twelve hours, maybe maybe thirteen ish when I was all said and done. Yeah, what do

you think afterwards? It is a good game, a game that I enjoy. It's a metroid Vana. A lot of similarities on the surface to that Prince of Persia game looks kind of similar, feels pretty similar in some ways. The big things that stood out right away is it gives you a lot of the powers of a Metroidvania from the start. So you have the double jump, kind of a dash, like an air dash, all these things, and so I was like, Okay, I wonder what the progression is

going to feel like. And that's like one of my main things where it's like the things you unlock are like an air glide eventually, so you're like you could do a double jump and then you could hold down jump and then you're gliding through the air, and then there's certain points where there's an updraft and then you could fly there and yeah, what's up draft? Not much? What's up with you? And it's those are specific, like very situational

things. A lot of the upgrades feel that way up until the very end, where it's like, once you have all these abilities put together, it really feels it really comes together in a strong way and it feels like,

oh, this is where the game is shining. Up until that point, which is like the last third, a lot of it's like, oh, okay, yeah, I'm not like feeling the huge pull through this game that I was kind of hoping to feel, but I still would come back to it and be like, Okay, there's still some some of that Metroid Vanya ness that I need to get me a little bit excited. But then everything's

just a little bit unrefined, just a little bit sloppy. It's you'll go into a new area of the map, you'll unlock the map and it just shows you everything, and the map is very simple. You were going to your destination, see where that is, and then there's offshoots from the map, and those are always going to be extra challenges to get some unlockables or new items to improve your character. So there's not a lot of surprise. There's not actually a lot of exploration, and I think a lot of that

ruins the pacing. It seems like it definitely focus more onlike the story of the game than it did the exploration. And as someone who kind of comes to Metroidvania as for the exploring, I was kind of turned off by that. And then how many times it would just like kind of wall off a room and put me in a combat challenge and things like that. And you

mentioned Prince of Persia. I think the proximity to that release did no favors because I think about all the quality light things and the memories thing and like the way Prince Persia like it had the exploration, it had the quality of life stuff, it had the combat. This one, it's like, it feels pretty snappy. You know, when I started with the double Jump and it felt pretty good, I was like, oh, okay, cool, all right, speak my language here. But then it's like, yeah,

the upgrade tree wasn't super great to me. You know, the sun and moon mask stuff was fine. It does some smart stuff, but overall it's just like, as far as what I went from a Metroidvania, it wasn't really hitting on that. And again, I think it's going more for the story than anything, and that explains why I wasn't as into it. Yeah, I think the sort of the stuff, like the masks. You can switch between a sun mask and a moon mask, and the sun mask is

your melee attacks. The moon mask is your sort of metroid. You know, Samas shooting her gun mask and that's cool. I think they try to bring in a little Ikaruga where some of these enemies will have certain shields on them that are colored, and you need to break that shield by using that color. And then once they're the shild is broken, you can use whatever

you want on them. It like makes combat a little bit more interesting, but it doesn't do much, and really your tool set is and I do think the Prince of Persia comparison is really painful in the combat because it's like man in that combat and Prince of Persa. You could be doing so much at any one time, and the game is encouraging you sometimes forcing you to get creative with those things, and here it's like no, just kind of

hit them and you'll be all right. And then at the very end, when you do have everything unlocked, you get unlock this ability where instead of just using your air dash, you can combine your air dash with like this a forceful tackle that you can do in any direction. And once I had that, I was able to like really get the combat to feel really nice.

But again that's like the last third of the game, and up before that, anytime I was in one of these little combat rooms where it is locking me off, it's like, this is kind of boring, this is

kind of a dud. I was hoping to play more with the like mask stuff, because like, remember there was an old XBLA game called I Think Outland, and it was like you would like phase back and forth, you know, speaking like that Ikaruga thing where you're like switching phasing back and forth between things, and like platforms would exist in one playing with existence and not the other, and they did a lot of clever things with like the platforming

and stuff there. I was hoping there'd be more of that with a Sun and Moon mask, and it just like it just felt to me like I was switching weapons more than anything, you know, unrefined. It's just it's like not fully fledged out or yeah, fully fleshed out. Excuse me? Did the story like do much for you? Because you know, I played a bit of it, and you know, I'm a bit like you guys where it's like, oh are we talking so much here? But it was

pretty good at least I thought. Did did that narrative go to interesting places for you? Were you engrossed by that at all? Yeah? I really enjoyed the story bits. I think that like that was the biggest pitfall for me with Prince of Persia is just like I just did not care about anything that was happening there. Yeah, like the gameplay was enough to pull me

through the whole time. But with Zoo, I think it's one of those games where I, uh, okay, I will turn put my headphones on, I will listen to this game as it's going along, and like the chatter doesn't feel like it's useless inane chatter. It's like, Okay, all of this is building towards something. Uh, this is like we're we're dealing with grief, we're dealing with loss, and we're figuring out how to how to do that through the means of a gamer and through the progression of this

character. And I think that is very well done. And I think the voice acting is also really good throughout the portions of the game that I've played so far. It's definitely more interesting than like the Prince of Persia's story stuff. For all the times Prince of person does better, Like yeah, yeah, this has more of a focus on it, and it's better at the story. So we'll shum together. Yes, yeah, I think that.

You know. The thing with like afrofuturism, it's like, hey, we're gonna put sci fi in this African setting to like say it like this culture should be included in all stories going forward, and they sort of like plant that flag really well. And then I think they use that not to be like and we're going to tell some big, sprawling epic. It's a very personalized story about loss and grief. And then they nailed that too. I thought the story was actually really well done. I was getting more and more

into it over time. There were several touching moments. It's they don't like reserve all that for the end. They sort of obey the rule threes where you know, you learn a lesson early on, and then you learn another lesson in that same idea, and it's a little bit harsher and a little bit tougher and a little bit more moving. And then the final moments where it all comes home and you realize what's been happening the whole time really did

hit me. And that's what actually ended up pulling me through, because I'm like at this point where I have all the abilities and the combat does start to feel a little bit better, like, Okay, well maybe one of these boss fights will actually be kind of interesting. And then you get to the last boss fight and it's just or the last couple of boss fights and it's just like all the rest, there's nothing there. They are very simple,

very basic. It doesn't feel fully fleshed out. Again, and the escape sequences, there's several or ready like escape sequences, and they are not. They just don't There's too many opportunities for to get stuck on geometry. Sure, it doesn't feel exciting, it just feels frustrating. It's overall like a lot of the game sort of feels like that, where it's like these two things where it's like not fully done as well as they could have.

And then the story was pretty well done and moving and overall I thought it was a pretty good time. It's just nowhere near where it could have been. I oddly was reminded of Disney Illusion Island from last year, where like, if there were a couple more refinements, I feel like Disney Illusion Island could be such a tighter game where you could be more zippity do dyeing around in that game, and I feel like, just tighten up a couple things

with Zoo and Tales of Canzarzao and then it could also be there. I think I found the speed, and again, this is probably just the proximity of being so close to Prince of Persia and Haites too, where like it is just like snappiness refined in terms of movement. Uh heard it a little bit in that department. But my main gripe is not with that game.

Actually. Can someone help me please remap the screenshot button on a Steam deck because the free shot button is is Steam button and right trigger right or right, but bonner, I want one button because sometimes like they'll they'll drop like a little little nugget of dialogue button boys. One button boys. I've gotten used to it on the switch and it's just so good on the switch. I just need uh Steam artie, man, I didn't I need like, uh like one of the back pedal buttons or whatever. H Oh, that's

a good idea. Maybe you should be able to set that. You probably can do that. I could probably do that, right, because sometimes they'll drop a nugget like a knowledge dart, and I'll be like, ah shit, fuck, okay, yeah, I thinking about my relationship with my parents now, thanks, And then like instead I'll just like kind of pause it and like awkwardly pull out my phone and just like snap a picture of it. Okay, cool, Yeah, that's that's a that kind of echoes my

experience, Grub. I was kind of hoping that the Boston Counters would kind of like ramp up in terms of like scale over time. I think I'll stick with it. Hearing that it's like ten twelve hours is ish because I do enjoy the story and where I'm at with the story, and I think and if you're enjoying that, you'll you'll continue to get more out of it, for sure. Grub, do you think that, and Dan, do you think that this could be like someone's a good introduction to this style of

game, like just Metroid Veniers in general. Yeah, I would probably. I would say probably not because it uses some of the accoutrement of yea of Metroid Venus, but it's not really like leveraging them to their full effect, so to the point where it's like, oh I get my metro Venu metro Venu's work. I think if you want an introduction, you probably go to something like or or Prince of Persia right now. I think Prince of Persia

right now. Yeah, okay, okay, Jeff, Jeff, I want you to know that when I die, you have my permission to not have to worry about going on some like Big Spirit West to bring me back. You can just let me go. Okay, you do have to distribute Mike's ashes at all the lands in Disney World. Yeah, apparently Jeff is gonna kill me anyways. Yeah, if I had to kill Manati, come on, I think you said, oh Mike, definitely. It's the funniest answer.

Oh god, I can imagine all of us in like our our black and white tuxes being very upset about losing Mike Manati because Jeff Grubb had to kill him. But we're okay with Jeff Grubb being there that we just code Grandma as we drink around the world at Epcot. That sounds great for me. Just like had some flaky skin it came off, and then I in that and just like put a sprinkle of that in Disneyland, like I get to take care of this. Now. How is that your real killer?

If you do that? Yeah, that's a bigger problem than Jeff Grubb being quoted that he's gonna kill it. Just get busy some of my skin? What are you talking about? I mean, okay, honestly, like, okay, I don't even have to ask it up. What if I just had a fleck come off, I just throw it down on the ground. Disney, that's as good as good good, no, good, No, that's good forever now And ask him if I'm still the weird one. Oh, I think it's just absolutely shoe box man. Well, you know,

chef reactions. I think may also be a Disney adult. So yeah, oh, okay, weird. Okay, Now we got to get chef reactions back, but not talk about food, talk about the theme parks. Yeah, this is the angle, Dan, we can do that. Do that? Oh boy? All right, well, I think we're all gonna go collectively shed some skin and code grammar and our respective homes. Just the extra flaky skin we got, just some of that extra flick flex of skin. Uh, folks, don't worry. Well, we're gonna talk about Stellar Blade

later in the week during BCR. Tons of things to say about that game, and look at it, that game. We'll be back with the news after this quick Brookie break breaking news here. Uh is come to my attention that close to an hour of this podcast has elapsed and we have actually yet to talk about Rebel Moon Part two. The scare Giver, the scare scargiver, scargiver. Okay, I'm sorry, scares, that's better. What was that? What was the subtitle for the first one? Okay, Rebel two,

Part Part one A Child on Fire? Oh wait, don't make any sense. That's the subtitle. Yes, and they're doing the weird thing where it's Rebel Moon dash part one colon A Child of Fire? Something good project. Does anyone like this? No? There are some Snyder fans online that will defend it, and they've never said they like it though. Okay, interesting, okay, yeah, good, good use of time. Yeah, a good place to be in your life, Dan, if you were to

guesstimate here where Rebel Moon Part two? The scare giver scargiver. I'm sorry, sorry to keep butchering the title. Everyone, you fucking better apologize. I'm sorry, Zach. Where do you think it is? Sitting on rotten tomatoes right now? Twenty four? Close? Fifteen? Okay, wow, much worse. Still, what was the first one? The first one was like in the twenties, right, I don't know. Did they both just come out? No? The first one came out last like late last year,

I think, okay, or maybe early this year. I think sooner than that. Yeah, there was. There was a very prominent commercial for Rebel Moon Part two, The Scargiver during WrestleMania. Oh really, Oh I remember something coming on and a bunch of people being like ah, and I was like, I don't know what the fuck this is. Yeah, I think I went to get more cheese steaks that day. Oh okay, this was also the night where you were dying, so I know I might have

been distracted. Yes, okay, Yeah. The best movie on Netflix continues to be Extraction too. What's fun? It's just nuts with Chris Emsworth. It's like a call of duty mission the entire time. Chris Emsworth is just on a tear of like I'm gonna make movies. Yeah, right, in popcorn movies. I don't care. I don't care about your film. Your Knives Out? No, that's hem's worth Chris No, No Evans, Chris Evans. Yes, and they're not related. No, why am I the

guys? Okay, which one's the Knives Out Guy's captain America? I see, okay, yes, yes, why would I conflict that? Okay, I mean they're they're on the same team, so I see. Okay, guys, you guys Arrow got mad at Chris Pratt because he's, uh, he wants to tear down some house he bought because he already tore it down. Yeah, I don't know. Am I getting in trouble for offering a mild defensive Chris Pratt? He bought the house, he could tear it down

if he once soon? I don't care some architects, Like everyone suddenly really cares about architecture now everyone's really Oh that was made by by Zippy Man the sixties. That's important. You just all you look at that made by Zippy Man. Look at the Hey is this a Zippy Man original? We can't tear it down? Get the minted in trouble trying to get Chris Pratt to play him in the Minati movie I pay Myself other? Hey, has that a Has a Garfield movie come out yet? Not yet? Something to look

forward to it? Has it? Now? That I got that song stuck in my head now because of the fucking Middle Earth enterprises in friends? But we'll get to that. Yeah, come on it, come to the place where fun never rants. Come on in, Come on in party with better worth of enterprises and friends. Hey, this Garfield movie is filled with hitters other than Chris Pratt, because you get Nicholas Paul, Sam Jackson, Ving Raims is in this movie? Is this c G? Yes? Oh yeah,

okay? Oh and uh Hannah Wattingham from uh Ted Lasso. Anyway, the news Snoop Dogg Snoop Dogg plays Snoop Cat. All right, we gotta stop showing. Oh look, dog Google, it's a Snoop dog plays Snoop Cat. That's like Zidia is Beechy level right there. Stoop Dogg is Snoop Cat. I'm gonna go upstairs and yell that to my children until they stopped loving me. Wasn't he always snoop Cat because he was like Snoop lying for a little bit that really didn't take. That was a bad gimmick change.

Yeah you didn't get it over, brother, Yeah yeah, Snoopy smart jokers thick with Snoop Joker. There's always a joker stick mark amongst you. It's like when Lil Wayne got into skateboarding. All right, uh we got we gotta do it like an old TNA podcast. That's what we really nevern week by WEEKNA. But I listened to the Deadlocks about it, and I was like Why wasn't I watching TNA. I am soon going to watch the like the Monday Night War TNA with Dan at some point because that would just be

incredible. We think we've started doing the power BombCast more frequently, so we don't talk about rest everywhere else. All right, No, we're still gonna do this, but then we do more on the side grub. What is Atari doing. Atari's brought back the Infrogram's brand as a publishing label. What I don't know. Atari's revived the Infragram's brand is the publishing label, the brand which hasn't been actively used for around two decades. We'll focus on acquiring

and publishing games that differ from Atari's core IP portfolio. Infograms will prioritize game preservation and began its journey by acquiring totally reliable delivery service from tiny Build. Atari's CEO Wade Rosen express excitement about bringing back Infogram's reputation for publishing unique games. They like Infograms is one where I never really fully understood what they were other than that's the fake Atari. Yeah, I mean sure, go ahead.

They just released a bunch of stuff. I mean it's like, it's like random what they did there's no identity there. It's like a lot of license games. It's the cliff Higher game, Putt Peed goes to the moon walk over a second, two, the animal scheme, Alone in the Dark, backyard Baseball. So y oh, is this abouiver Kelsey's wanted to bring back the backyard sports? Is that what this is? I mean, I think it's just like them trying to find ways to expand in a way that

like feels like honest or something like that. But it feels weird. I mean, okay. Infograms in the nineties acquired Ocean Grimlin Interactive DMA Design, which was rock Star Accolade, Beam Software, GT Interactive, Hasbro, Interactive Micropros, and Atari itself. So like, Infograms was making a ton of acquisitions and then they changed their name from Infograms to Atari after making that acquisition and sort of just faded away because no one cared about Infograms. So I

do, I do wonder what this is going to. I don't think there's a strong brand there, but you know, if you just want to expand whatever, but don't act like like everyone's real excited at Infograms is back. I saw that that's weird. Apparently they published the power version of Megamon eight and get it from the ants CG movie. Oh per game Boy Killer. Yeah, I don't. I have no memory of this. And what are you pac Man? What eight? Pa? Mega meg Many Oh meg Man

eight? Okay, that makes more sense, CAPC. Well, Nintendo had to publish Mega Man six in the West because Captain's like, we're not doing that, so into the matrix. Uh man, that game had so much hype at Godzilla, Detroyal Monsters, Melee, that Gamekey One that people like that game r. It's a very you know, it's not like they did bad games. It's just completely there's no identity, right, what do you want from an infograms in twenty twenty four Jersey Devil? Wait? Wait is

there there their mascot or their logo? This whole time it's just been like an armadillo and I didn't know. Yeah, wow, yeah, mister nuts, mister z Infograms. It was like a French company, right or am I making that up? Like nos? Yeah, headquarters Taris France. Okay, right, so and this doesn't feel like it's that either. I don't know. Okay. The games listed here like Asterix V Rally ten ten, the Smurfs and Looney too talking about the French cartoons, the Asterix world.

I well, listen, I like like the current modern day Atari where they're like, we're gonna lean way hard into nostalgia and then preserving that stuff, not just like, oh, we're gonna fart out a bunch of stuff that has the name of a game you like on it. We're actually gonna try, like they just did that lunar Lander game. That's like trying to like do more of lunar landered. And they've done this a bunch of times, Like this is a decent idea, and I hope they lean into that.

I just don't know how infograms helps them accomplish that, but I'll whatever go ahead and try, all right. PlayStation is officially bringing trophies to PC. Ghost of Sushimo's Director's Cut will be the first PlayStation game on PC to feature a new PlayStation overlay include trophies, friends list, settings, and profiles. Players who sign into their PSN accounts on PC can earn the same trophies as the PS five version. The game supports both PlayStation trophies and Steam and Epic

Game Store achievements. PlayStation overlay is optional for single player and Legends mode. The addition of trophy support was the first rumored last year, following the edition of PSN support to Marvel's Spider Man Remastered on PC. This feels like another step towards Sony making PC a bigger part of what they're doing. Do you think this leads to them building a store like a PlayStation store on PC? And is this something that you guys are interested in using? No? Yeah,

I mean I'm interested in playing PlayStation games on PC. I don't know if I need a separate thing to launch it and UI and all that stuff. I like the idea of getting trophies there, even though I don't really pay attention to it anymore. Well, okay, let me let me float this idea. This was like when we've talked about this in the past week. This is what I've said, is like, Okay, what if there's

PlayStation store that you need to use? But the benefit is you get the game day and date when it launches on PS five, but now you can play it on PC and then otherwise it comes to Steam a year later. Would you would you buy game from a cross save and all that stuff? Yeah, cross saved maybe cross by if I could do that, And I mean, do you think you'd be able to play anything on Steam Deck? You'd probably do some Linux work around or something. You gotta join me in

that Roger Ally world. Yeah, you could use your flip use that. Oh yeah, I that Yeah, maybe sometimes certain use cases. I've never against the idea of being able to play my stuff on more things, especially if they'll talk to each other and cross save and things like that. Yeah, I think, uh, the likely scenario here is Sony probably does do something along those lines. But I don't think they will abandon Steam either. They'll keep put the names on the scheme just the way they have. I

don't think anyone should be painting Sea. We keep seeing the games that don't come on steams seem to like not do as great as maybe you wouldn't want them to. Yes, And then it all kind of all comes back. Nix is the studio that does a lot of the ports for station, is doing the work on this overlay, so least, very least it will probably work fine. Do you think any of like the tiers of PlayStation Plus would

get any benefit from like a PC store? Perhaps, you know that's probably something they do include eventually right where it's uh that subscription gets you access to a certain number of games on the PlayStation store on the PC. That could happen. Yeah, yeah, that I could get down with. Maybe they would get me to pay for PlayStation Plus again yeah, same. We'll see they are gonna they are moving more in the direction of PC at all times

though, so we'll see how this elaborates in the future. ESA says members won't support any plan for libraries to preserve games online. This is from the Electronic Software Association or I'm sorry, the Electronic Software Assocition continues to oppose efforts

towards the game preservation. In a recent hearing held by the US Library of Congress Copyright Office, the esay's lawyer, Steve England, said that the ESA's members would not support any combination of limitations to provide remote access to archived games for video game researchers. So basically, the companies that make up the essay, all the big video game companies, are saying, no matter what, we're not going to let libraries put video games up to be played online in

archives. We are completely against that. Like the Video Game History Foundation, a bunch of others are like working towards trying to make that happen. The ESA keeps trying to throw up roadblocks there, and they are not like down with any sort of version of this, which feels like kind of frustrating because so many of these games that they're talking about preserving are games that you cannot play any other way or have been lost to time or have licensing issues.

That means that these companies aren't going to sell them again, and researchers probably should be playing these games. Still does seem important, but the essay is going to continue to standing in the way. Do you guys think there's any budgeting there? I mean house, are they going to like sell their bad Ai Ringmasters of these games ten years from now or you know, they're shitty

compilations of absolutely no thought or effort put into them. If John Drake isn't going to remake quack Shot, then allow people to get there from libraries. Yeah, this is kind of on Drake, Yes, kind of most things are yes, Wow, it's actually the story does go that just scolds Drake for several paragraphs here. Yeah, yeah, understandable. Are you telling me that everyone in hip hop is not dissing Drake the Rapper, but it's yeah, yeah, he's just a ghostwriter for everything wild. Yeah, it doesn't

know his baby's mama, I think, is what they say. They're not taking shots at Drake, They're taking quack shots at John. Yes, all right, thanks for joining us, everybody. Is what is what we've learned today? One good joke A week's coming out. Todd Howard wants to avoid putting dates on Elder Scroll six and fall Out five. Todd Howard, the game director empathet the Game Studios that's provided an update on the company's upcoming games.

Elder Scroll six remains the studio's focus, followed by Fallout five, but Howard emphasized that they are also working on other projects, including Fallout seventy six and Starfield updates Fallout five, and it is clearly not getting a date. The last time they were like, hey, we're even like working on stuff

and will be coming out you know, in the future. They were talking about Elder Scroll six way back in twenty eighteen, and that game is still very far off in the year twenty twenty four, so that seems like a bad idea. Yeah, uh, these these companies are this company is like God to like figure out something to do with Fallout in the meantime. Though, right it's it's hard because you know, I think what everyone's like, Oh, I have someone else make it. I don't think Bethesa once that

happened. I don't think they're going to let that happen. I don't think that Bethesda is thrilled that when you know the Fallout game hit, everyone's like, what's the best Fallout? A lot of people are like, uh, the only one Bethesa didn't make in the last twenty years. I think that that's probably a bit of a sort point. Do you remember how I used to say on our podcast at the times, like I think they should should not make Star Foot I was like, if I was the charge would have

canceled it. I'm not saying I was right, and I honestly mean that. I honestly mean that, like, maybe it's worth it to establish an IP. But it's funny to me how many people now are like, I wish they didn't make Starfields that we were closer to Fallout five, Yeah, it was. It seems like the kind of thing where they'll probably benefit from

like learning lessons. But I get what you're saying, Okay, for the folks that have played more Starfield than me, which is a lot of people because I barely played it other than examining a wooden duck a lot, could you potentially make a catastrophic DLC that just turns it into Fallout? Sure, it's already fall I mean what you would do is you would release like a big expansion that just takes place on one planet, and then it could actually

be Fallout. You wouldn't have to worry about the cumbersome planet traveling. You can actually like make a map and like have explorations. You can go and explore it. Like that's what they should do the Starfield deal. See, I mean it'll be a bit naked, like, oh, this really is just Fallout in space, but that would be better. Do you think they

have another Starfield? It's kind of interesting because like before it be yeah, because they're invested, But it is like, well, that would push back our next elder scrolls in Fallout by seven or eight years again, right, It's just kind of like, man, maybe that's the one to be, Like, Oh, Obscenia can make a new star Field if they want, and they'll be like no, thank you actolutely. Yeah, I don't think

they ever will. I think it was it'll set them up for the future, but it will be looked at as an experiment that didn't quite work out all right. And then, also speaking of Fallout, Fallout TV show is returning for a second season according to Amazon. Amazon confirmed this the show's doing really well. Didn't any of you guys end up watching it? Not yet

three episodes in? I think, Uh. I know, there's like a whole debate online about the whole binging thing, but I think just because it all dropped at the same time, I'm just gonna get to it when I get to it. Yeah, sure, it's I thought it was pretty okay. It's not like, uh didn't blow my socks off or anything, but it's pretty. It's better than a lot of other video game TV shows.

I didn't really give Halo a chance though, unfair to compare it to that, but it looks better than what Halo looked like to me from a distance. Yeah, if you gut into my head, I would probably go with Fallout five times out of five rather than Halo or the Twisted Metal Show, which is the Halo show on I don't think I realized there was a full free is it like on master Chief and everything like a high budget You can see his ass. Yeah, people don't like it. It's weird. The

show is, but in his face it's people are more upset more. I guess Sex with the Covenant, Yeah, he fucks. He cuts Cortana, master Cheeks cuckoldress. Ye. Master Cheeks is definitely pretty good. Jan Yeah, thank you. I for me, Like, I didn't watch The Last of Us, and I'm sure it's a good show, but I'm just like, is like kind of fun, and I'm more for that. So I would also choose Fallout over that, and I did, and I had a good time with it. I can also see while they're doing a second season

they set a lot of that stuff up. It's obviously a fun world to be in, and it's paying off. A lot of people are playing those games. One hundred and sixty thousand concurreents for Fallout four over the weekend, a ton of people were playing Fallout four, and like sixty thousand were playing fall Out seventy six, So uh, they're really going to get a benefit from that. This is very random, but I watched beetlejuice for the first

time since I was a kid over the weekend. If Michael Keaton didn't want to do beeal juice for beetlejuice, beeal juice, fucking throw Walter Goggins in that bitch. Oh god, he's call yeah, yeah, wow, did everything? Yeah yeah, Walton fine. Oh okay, you're his new best friend, Mike. Yeah, you learned about his existence a week ago. I saw it all that gug since I saw the community. Be careful you say, yeah, beatle Juice is name. I did. Look. I don't mean to bring up Ted too, but I saw us ted too.

But I did see a seat on Facebook. Okay, all right, I wanted to make sure we knew what you were talking about. I did just see a seat on Facebook. That was pretty funny. Where he's in the courtroom and he's like things aren't going well. It's like beetle juice, beetle juice, and Mark Walber is like, shut the funk up, we don't want that guy running around in here. He's like, no, it's fine. He'll be on like you're messing with powers. You don't understand. That's

funny. Caught a little bit of that Ted show. It's not that bad either. Yeah. I see a lot of clips of that on my Facebook to the plant where I'm like, this is not just people uploading things, this is a marketing How many shows the Pearl and have a lot and he's got that? Does The Orville still going? People love get? Every time it goes away? People get I should watch The Orville? I mean I would really like what is that? It's a Star Trek him doing a Star

Trek next generation parody, but like a sincere parody. Yeah, yeah, okay, all right, let's go. Let's keep going here. Kingdom Come Deliverance too has officially been announced, with the trailer in first details. They're going to release it, I think later this year, and I'm not sure if it's early access or not. But are you guys Kingdom Come Deliverance players, did you guys? It's his historical basingg Yeah, Kingdom out of here?

This is like a good joke. Don't push it. Like, I'm a little bit more interested in this than I think I think I was even in the first one, just because it's like that they've had so much time to like make an open world game. But I don't know it's hard to make open world games interesting We've seen over and over again. So they were also very shitty with the messaging behind the first game, Yeah, which specifically

turned me off of that completely. Yep, me too. I'm just lot a big fan of like the super like accurate, like if you know, in real historical medieval times, everybody spoke like shit and there was dirt everywhere, you know, it's like, eh, I mean I was a bit of that in Dragon's Soong Wat too, which is kind of like one of the things that throws me off with that one. Honestly, I'm like, this is all very ugly, and I get it if you're like living in

that time, a lot of things would have been ugly. But I'll go place like you need your wife foos, Yeah, I need, Yeah, I need, I need, I need my wife, foods and chrome and like everything's gonna have like a blue shiny aura to it, like corn and a robot for no reason. Angels and angels are hot are hot? Uh. Meta's partnering with Xbox I say it opens quests os to third party hardware

makers. Meta, the company behind the quest of VR headsets, is announced that it will open up its Meta Horizon OS operating system uh to third party hardware makers. Partners set to develop new mixed reality devices include Xbox, Lenovo, and Asis. The collaboration with Xbox will result in a limited edition Meta quest and inspired by Xbox whatever that means, As who says, Republic of

Gamers will focus on developing a high performance gaming headset. Lenovo, the co designer of the Oculus rift s, will create a mixed reality device for productivity, learning, and entertainment. Real quick, have you guys seen Mark Zuckerberg recently? Oh my god, now is he like like kind looks like Jack Harlow? Do you know Jack Harlow is no? Hold on, he looks like a white the Rock okay, looking like from Starour images. I know

he was doing like moy Tie or something. He looks like he's becoming one of the Paul Brothers. Wow, this first thing that popped up, he's straight up looks like an older Paul brother. Yes, yes, it looks he looks better. He just he looks better. I hate to give the guy credit. Wait, really, clearly it's a million dollar effort to get

him to look like this. Like he was doing an interview. He was doing an interview where he was like holding a mike with his fingers like they do on TikTok, and I'm like, I know for a fact he's got like a like a pr person telling him hold it like that, it'll make you seem more human because that's what the kids do. But whatever, So yeah, this it seems like this is their their play for the future in

VR. Let more of these companies come in and make VR headsets because they don't want to keep making them themselves, or if they want more people, more players in the space. How like steam machines. It's like steam machines, which is why you want people evoking whenever you're talking about the future of your hardware, that begs the question, how interested are you all in VR

headsets beyond the ones you already have? I mean, I don't have a quest three yet, so like part of me wants to get one of those at some point, I like mine? What I like mine? Yeah, sure, I would like it. It may be the last one I ever need, although like I'm out now, I'm so far past them, Like, I guess there will be a quest for it some point. Now It's like, well, well, I get the Xbox Quest. Yeah, I

don't know. I don't know. It's it's a kind of a weird move because again, that was kind of the problem with the steam machines, right, It's like, I kind of just want a Steam machine. I want to know what's one to get. And I was like, well, here's eighteen of them at vastly different prices and functionalities. I like, I don't I don't know which one to gets. I'm just not going to get any

of them. No, I understand that. Yeah. Actually, I want to go back to the Mark Zuckerberg conversation I've got because I think I got in trouble for seemingly like I was complimenting his appearance. I don't care everybody, you're you're more of a musky guy. Yeah, yeah, you like cowboy hats? All right, never mind, let's just go keep moving with a story. Uh. I was going to say, this is the power of anyone wearing a gold chain. I think, Yeah, I think all

of us are like handsome looking individuals. I think we'd get like a plus ten charisma each of us if we added a small gold chain. Could I used to have one? Yeah? Yeah, you're you're Italian? You could pull it off. I don't think I oh, I thought you said. I thought you were talking about money. Oh sorry bad. I used to have one like yeah, an Italian horn and then but I have so much chest here get caught in there and exactly exactly you get like a fat donkey

chain. I'm gonna send this one of uh of Mark Zuckerbird looking just like the rock. There we go, okay, good, all right, that's you know, it's a turtle. Is that a real photo? I think it's real. It looks photo shots. Yeah, he looks like this looks photoshop like angels and demons. I want to believe. I continue to choose to believe. I don't care what people say. Big K nine right, like Jesus, I could really rip it to your flesh. All right,

let's go here, let's see next story. Oh yeah, Embracer Group. I announced his plants to split into three separate company. Embracer Group, a Swedish game and media holding company, plans to split into three separate entities as Mody Coffee Staining, Friends and Middle Earth and Enterprises and Friends. Mike, you want to sing the song again? Yeah, come on it. Come to the place where fun never ends come on and it's side of the party

of Midworth Enterprises and Friends. Each company will be listed separately on Nasdaq Stockholm, which is what this is really all about. This that makes it a lot easier for them to sell stock and like get the like offer stock options and make a lot more money from raising funds through stocks. So that will make it easier for them to get that money and then do more stuff to

make more games. Previously, Embrace Reres just one thing was kind of at a dead end for a lot of those options and they just couldn't they couldn't raise any more money. This also will make them a leaner so that when a game comes out and does well, it'll probably look better on the balance sheet for a smaller entity. Overall, let's see coffee stand in Friends will be focused on like PC console mobile games from a lot of like indie equivalent

developers. And then the Middle Earth Enterprises and Friends, which is just an incredible name, will be focused on like big PC console Triple A games. It's called it Middlewarth Enterprises. It's not like we're gonna play a two games. Canna have that logo like, ah, excuse me, Laura Cross not a wizard and then like and Fred shows up like oh okay, okay, she's one of the free one of their friends. It's like the care bear cousin friends of friend of Frod. Oh yeah, Like, what the hell,

we're just calling something else. It's not related to Middlewards. What do we like If one of the subsidiaries was just like the midwarth company, I would get it. But now we have this stuff in there too. Uh? Whatever? Dumb? This is after they cut like thirteen hundred jobs over the last several months and sold a bunch of studios, sold a bunch of studios, shut down a bunch of studios, They shut down the team that

was making like time Splitters things like that. And apparently Lars Winger First is going to do an interview with Games Industry dop is tomorrow, so we'll see what he has to say for himself. In the meantime, though, everyone feeling better about Embracer Group now No, yeah, there's no there's still no vision. I don't know. Look, I guess this is probably the right

move. I suppose, it's just you know, I can't imagine having much faith in the direction going on over there, Like just like all this stuff happened because there was like one investment thing from Saudi Arabia that they were banking on that didn't happen, so their entire world exploded. Do you see a world grub where these three different divisions don't do so hot that they just become one division again? Sure, one re embraced. Yeah, re embracing happens.

Yeah, large winger versus I think CEO of all three companies, so they basically are already that cool. I don't think that's three separate companies. Yeah, weird. It's a weird thing that they're doing here. It's definitely. It's definitely a financing trick. That's what this all is. So we'll see how that works out for It's where nick Con has Rossmackdown and NXT, so it's got three separate companies, say thing right, right? Uh huh

yeah, well you know they have different gms. You know, Ava's exactly different companies. Yeah, it's like a ring of honor in a w or self exactly different names. Yeah. God, who was it? Was it Eddie Kingston that quit to go to Ring of Honor? A real stupid I always like that ship. That's really very Yeah, it's great that they defend the Ring of Honor belts only on Ring of Honor. Look that last fair fee was good, but there was like some match was like six three versus

three and everybody had a belt when they came out. Yep, too many belts. Uh. Tales of the Shire, a Lord of the Rings game got details in the first trailer. It's second set to release in the second half of twenty twenty four. And this game just looks like there's a war going on over there. But we're fucking hobbits. We're just gonna drink beer in farm with hobbits right now. We're fucking them. We're fucking we're finding their hobbit holes. Yeah, listen, would that's what a hobbit hole is

you? Yeah? You said I only had what good joke of lightning can't strike twice? It looks fun like you're the Lord of the Rings freak. You gonna play this? Ah? You? Maybe? Hey, why we're getting a middlework given that's not said in mortar. Finally, that is kind of nice. That's why I'm excited about it. And that's kind of it. And I don't know if I'm actually gonna enjoy this or or even play it. But I just like the idea of a Lord of the Rings game.

That's like we could do something somewhere else. Yeah, just go and be a hobbit and have a nice time. That's you know, there might be legs there. It depends so much in the execution with that idea. Oh yeah, his name is Elijah Wood. Ah okay, let's see here a new Xbox in the Oh yeah, go ahead. Oh no, I was gonna ask, is there, like I guess it's after the third movie, but there's a time of peace right in the Lord of the Rings. Oh yeah, yeah, it's, as far as we know, an almost

perpetual piece. After that, there's a couple of remnants, like the Easterlings and whatnot that to take care of. Yeah, elaborate, Well, you don't want to know. Lucy James is also being activated. Yeah, but I think the whole point of this is like, you know, they're they're halflings. They don't care. They're in their own world. Uh, and so even if there is a war going on, they're still like living their life and I'm dead until Sharky shows up. Yeah, there's the scouring of

the Shire and all that stuff. But that's not in the movie. Don't worry about it, all right. A new Xbox Indie Game Showcase is coming next week. They're gonna have Chuck song. Yeah you think this is where it happens, Mike, I don't know. Do it again? No, shut the fuck up. Have confidence. You did it for the Nintendo Indie World Showcase, where it had no chance to show it up. I was feeling in it. You feel it again, but you don't feel it now,

So that's why it probably will show up here? Is that feeling it? He actually, all right, you're probably right. Uh. There'll be games like Dungeons of Hinterberg thirty three, Immortals of Hints. I what Dungeons of hint I? Yes, Jeff, I would have live at Head type bergs that like duck Burg. Yeah, but every everyone's a hint I. It's a different type of quackshot happening over there. That's a good podcast. It'll be on April twenty ninth, and then, uh, the Indie World

Showcase did happen last week? I got I listed some games here on the rundown if everyone wants to pick one that that stuck out to them. I liked Steam World Heist too. Yes, yeah, yeah, I think it was fun. I'm glad and more folks will be able to check out TM and T Splintered Fate. Yeah. I think that's it. That's like fully out now right, we should play that? Oh yeah, let's do that. Okay, Yeah, Mikey you have to be Michael Angelo. I'm sorry.

I know it's been my lot of life. Like when I was a kid, Mikey was my favorite, like everyone, and now I'm almost a little over it, Like all right, Mike you want you go, like get a job or not? Everyone tell was the guy? Yeah, that's the nerd Uh. I liked Anton Blast that Warrior Where Wrioland looking game? Excuse me? That looked neat? What's good? Dan? Did you ever get around to watching that? I know you were late that morning. Wait, Pizza Quest or whatever? Wait? What what are we talking about?

Anton Blast is not Pizza Tower? What is what is this? We played? And I was late that day? I see, Hey, I was there right when Slack told me it was starting. I just forgot about time zones. No, I have not seen that. Does it just look like Warrior Land? It looks like it looks like Pizza Tower? And Warrial Lands Pizza Tower though less Pizza Tower, I don't. I don't love warrior Land.

Weird. Yeah it is weird. Why did you see like don't love you game Boy because it's a game Boy franchise, but it was game Boy Advanced when the game Boy got good before game with fancy didn't like portable games. We get it. That's correct, disgusting. I think that does it for the news though, because I don't think Dan, you don't have a game from the City World Showcase because you didn't watch That's what I like, aready, I'll take it. Europa also looks pretty, quaint, looks mad,

whimsical. I like that. I want to make I want to see what a Yars Rising Metroid Vena means. That's weird bad. Yeah, but that game does look bad, but I want to find out what it looks like. When I when I saw Laura I and the laser eyes, I just thought this was a Gilmore Girls game, and I got kind of excited. Sure, why not? Why wouldn't it be? Yeah, I'm going to I'm going to save you, Jeff, and didn't bring up the metaphor refittas. Yeah, I didn't watch that but what was there details coming out

on my birthday. That's the biggest detail. Yeah, we got we got the release date. It is h October eleventh, which is exciting. I mean, you know, it does look like Fantasy Persona a lot of ways, but in a lot of interesting ways. I am very excited for this is continuing that year of our Jeez, we've been talking about. Yeah, it's gonna I think it might cap off a great year of RPGs. Mikey absoluolutely. I am fully on board. So you're fully on board now.

I think the last time we talked about Metal four Refantasio, you were like mostly on board you but you were like, I don't know about fantasy. I mean I'm so a little bit of me is like, oh hey, yeah, like we're gonna switch things up by making it fantasy, right, Okay, Like your whole the whole thing with Persona was that we're the JRPG series that isn't fantasy or sci fi and now but it is like an interesting enough looking spin on fantasy. So whatever, Oh, it'll actually continuing the

year of RPGs. Shinnmagamie Tense five Vengeance is also out now because I think that was like a switch Switch exclusive for a while, it'll be only on Switch and now yeah, it's going on other places. And this is kind of that the version that's gonna add some more stuff. I don't know. I didn't really get into c T five very much a few hours. It was. It was very difficult. I dipped pretty fast on that one. But hey, if you're like a Shinmagami freak, let's let your let your

flag fly higher. Now that's not that's not out till June. Note. I think there's like a preview today, yesterday or something. All right, that does it for the news. Then man, the show back over to jan. Oh boy, wow, we we've we've we've learned a lot so far. But we got to go read some emails. And we're gonna go read those emails after this. Ricky break Emails poncasta giant bomb dot com is

the email addressed to send your emails. To send anything you want to send, whether it's a quiz, whether it's a thought, a coupon, or uh, just your miscellaneous musings. Because someone has just been doing that and telling me about their breakfast sandwiches. Send us your favorite scenes from Ted.

Yeah, do that yeah yo on Twitter, send send movie recommendations, send script treatments, essays that you're working on for your college courses, special shouts out and uh uh to finishing college to Lex LUDDI out there, folks, uh uh uh Bob guess Jobbob dot com is email dress to your emails too. And the first email today comes from Max from South Bend. Max writes in hey BombCast Max from South Bend Here. I was wondering for the parents

here. A couple of weeks ago, my two year old daughter comes to the room while I was playing a yakus A game. During a cutscene, Kurrau was knocked down. The shot lingered on the bad guy, and my daughter runs up and goes no no no no no no no no no to the bad guy while trying to push him back, and then when it cuts to cure you, she starts stroking the TV saying is okay? Is okay? Is okay? I had a great laugh, but quickly had to pause

a cut scene when the bad guy pulls out a gun. Is there any good slash funny interactions that your kids have had while watching you play video games? Thanks for the podcast. I've been listening since the beginning when it included weird energy drinks Max from South Bend. Yeah, the kids will freak out

frequently whenever, like, well, not just when I'm playing games. We'll like play games together and we'll do things like they'll find out, Okay, we could have eight Kirbys fighting each other in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, and then they will just scream every time the image comes up of like eight Kirby's all on the screen. Data just lose their mind, rolling on the ground laughing. It's the best thing they've ever seen. They're like, they're pretty

edgy kids. Like their favorite thing right now is a video of the Blue intro, but it's redone where Blue does. It's the part where Brian gets run over by a car and family guy. It's like they cut one of the dogs in Blue getting run over by a car and they think that's the funniest thing in the world. So my kids have a weird sense of humor. Anyhow, Hey, the last episode of Blue gut wrenching, I haven't watched it yet. The Sign or the surprise. There's a shadow sign who

they shadow dropped the Blue episode apparently. I don't think that was a great idea. I think they should have spent time Mark Man the Shadow Drop skeptic. Uh all right. Next email comes from Drew. Drew writes in Hey guys, last episode, you discussed Star Wars Outlaws news about the price of the additions and the Jaba Mission exclusive. The consent consensus seemed to be that people were overreacting to the prices, and you guys are still hype for it.

Do you feel like since the team has trouble do you feel like the team has trouble empathizing with prices for games? Since most of you get codes to review them for work, do you feel like it also skews your views on if you recommend a game to others. Love the show and been a listener since last year, and you make my drives so much better? Drew,

Yeah, one hundred percent. I had this realization on the last fire Escape because I was talking about Tales of Canzera and I was comparing it to Prince of Persia, and Mary brought up the thing of like, oh, well, Prince of Persia is like a fifty dollars game and Tales of Canzera

is like twenty or something, and that did kind of recontextualize it. I mean, because like that is something like I tend to not really get into those discussions because I haven't really had to pay for games for like twenty years, so it's like, but when that's brought up to me, it's like, oh, I could totally see how that, like a twenty dollars metroid

Bania versus fifty dollars metrod Bania has different expectations and things like that. So yeah, I tend to not really comment on that stuff much because I feel like I can't really I don't have the perspective on that. Yeah, I these days, I buy most of my Nintendo games because I'm in Nintendo jail for a variety of reasons, mostly Mike and and so I like Buddy and those are like, those are the games I want to be playing the most, and so I kind of like have put a little bit more of my

finger on the pulse. But yeah, I think for the Ubisoft Outlaws one specifically, it was trying to figure out what people were mad about, and like I it was guessing that a lot of the people who are yelling about the price are also the people who are gonna wait for it to go on sale, which is what you should do if you don't want to pay the full price for it. And the good news with Ubisoft Games as they always do. So I think it was like, yeah, people are upset about

this jab of the Hut mission. But I think I think the perspective that actually really does inform this is like talking to game developers a little bit more and knowing that a jab of the Hut mission that is being put into an extra tier is one hundred percent of admission that was probably gonna get cut from the main game anyhow, and they're like, oh, let's just spruce it up and put it in this and that way we could sell as extra content.

A lot of that stuff gets edited and left out, and I think that's where at least my perspective was coming from when we were talking about that. I think, you know, both things are true. Yeah, like the way we consume games, the way we get games is definitely different from most consumers, the vast majority of them. And I also do feel like, you know, some of the anger around some deals see stuff, it's like I'm just not going I'm not gonna worry about it. I'm not going

to buy that stuff I would never even consider buying this. I mean, look, I get code for DLC. I don't even bother redeeming the codes because I just don't care about any of that stuff anyways. Right, yeah, yeah, but I mean it definitely does happen sometimes where the price, the effectiveness or the price pressure that people feel doesn't get to me quite the same. So, yes, that's possible. Sure, Sure, I think about time more than definitely price sometimes, and I realize that argument can like

be skewed sometimes if something is worth x amount of hours per dollar. But like, you know, I feel like you were going to get your bang for your buck when it comes to something like rebirth, reload, infinite wealth, and hey, you know, maybe you will get more value out of Auden Chronicles because that's not a sixty dollars title, it's like forty forty five,

So maybe that will skew better for you. But like when you're thinking about the the currency of time and how it's constantly running out and how we can't get more of it, sure, then you know I don't consider something like Iiden Chronicles worth it when I could be spending that watching Beetle Juice. Yep. Absolutely and how crazy of a career. Huh, yeah, that's a wild one. And people that like are upset about Outlaws again, I

get it. It's just I can't feel it. I don't, And I feel like the reason I don't feel the same way it is not because like I'm not spending my own money. It's I if I was, I would feel the same way. I know it because I just I would not be considering in any world buying one hundred and ten dollars version of a game. That would just not And it's like, okay, so that missions in there, and I feel like I'm not getting that content. That's just not how

I view it. I'm like that mission probably sucks and doesn't matter. Is that where my mind goes? Is this one one hundred and ten dollars that you're referring to. There's a sixty dollars version of the game, then the one hundred and ten dollars for the first one that has this jab of the Hut mission. Is that digital or physical? I think it's both. So it's one hundred and ten digital with the game and this Java thing. That's

it. I was not just the there's a whole bunch of ext especially Okay, okay, yeah, yeah, it's all the typical bullshit that you know normally care about with these things, right, so you know all these games have these editions. Yeah, to be clear, I also think that it's stupid. Yeah yeah, like I yeah, I think it's not a good thing. I just I can't get too upset about it anymore. When was the last time y'all dropped money on like a big special edition joint? Oh

and Walker, the Final Fantasy fourteen expansions. There's Danchos, there's my there's my Warrior of Light palette in over there. Yeah, looking pretty nice. MMOs always do pretty nice ones. I have to say I got the special edition of links Awaking that just came with the art book and stuff. That was nice. I don't think I ever have I mean like never old games, like when I'm like collecting and stuff like that, or but like not like a new game. I don't think I've ever bought a super special.

I remember being really excited for the Charted Three Drinks exception one, because it came with the statue and it came with his ring, and his ring was really important in that game. It's very cool. Remember not having a PS three at the time, but really wanting to get the special edition of Infant because I wanted that little messenger bag that Cole had. Oh I just heard I did buy the night Vision Goggle Modern work for two. I was gonna

say I did think about that. I got those standard one to review, and then I was like, I gotta get the fucking night vision goggles. Yeah. I many of you guys had the Halo three special edition cat helmet had that. I was very close to pulling the trigger, but I was broken. Had to be one of the best selling special just everybody had that cat helmet. Uh ah right. Billyo's next email comes from Alex in Bendigo, Australia. Grub is right, goddamn right. The glass half full is

absolutely milk. Okay, maybe I'm not right. I'm on board with that. I'm like, I sound insane because that's where the spilt milk you're not crying overcomes from. No, it's not hot, just making thinks. Glad I could clear that up for you. Alex and Bendago, Australia. I don't believe you, Alex. I mean it makes sense when he says it though. No, no, it doesn't. Well, where else did the spilt milk come from? It's a metaphorical spillm What what do you mean where

a cake come from? Somebody poured it there from from a glass. Yeah, there's no use crying over it, Okay. Yeah. Uh. I'm like trying to think why I thought it was milk, and I have no explanation. I think it's because Sean was around, and then it was probably Sean that did it, you know, Okay, I'm going to assume that you think of different fluids around all of us. All right, You think of coffee when you see me, You now think on crime when you see

Dan and pissed when I think of Mike. Yeah, no, it's coke zero. Actually, Mike, I do think of you now. Whenever I see a Coke zero, I think like I'll meet Mike Manati. But that pleases me. My niece asked a very important question for the first time of the day. She asked, do you like pepsi or coke? And I like looked at her dead serious. I was like, we, Like I would have said, he's lying to you. They taste exactly the same.

Absolutely, No, you're insane for that. You're saying crazy, you think you think diet pepsi tastes the same as regular coke pe versus regular coke. Look, this is a neurological disorder. I believe you that they taste the same to you. I want you to know that that is not the case for the vast majority of people. It's not like you're tuned in and like your neurons are. We're deluding yourselfs the matrix. It's the same thing I think. I don't think you are locked in Dan, No, go drink

more Prime. I will pretend to like because he just likes to be a part of bits. I can't stop drinking it. It's water, people, It's superlous ice ice pop. Yeah, do you have me cherry freeze, meta moon? What do we got going on here? Scared? Why do you have so many of them? Because they're good? I got get strawberry banana. You can find it on Amazon. Strawberry banana is really good.

I had a strawberry banana. That one is actually very good. We were I was at Costco yesterday and I saw Prime right there and I was about to get it, and then the blue pack, yeah, yeah, the red green blue pack and My partner looked at me and she said, go ahead, get it, and then I told her no, because you've shamed me working things. I like, I just looked in the fridge yesterday, and Bonk went to the grocery store yesterday and she found me UFC flavored prime,

and so I've got UFC flavored prime in the bridge. Violence, but I've got it. Yeah. I was at Walmart. I was trying to find the some Googa Foods accessories and they had prime there, and I thought, those fucking assholes and then walked past. Hey, while we're talking about corporations and shit, right, you know what fucking got me? And you know what is actually crazy delicious? The stupid little Caesars crazy puffs. Yeah they're good, They're good, They're solid. Mine was sold out, so

they canceled my whole order. I was so mad. Cupcakes brought those up to Jade Car and she seemed very interested in the crazy puffs. She was like a very good. I was like, yes, Cargo, they are they Does it taste like crazy break because crazy bread is crazy? Yeah? Yeah. It was like a Pepperoni pepper. They bought pepperon they got peppers and the pepperoni. They got some ronis in that. I tried abbreviating pepperonis as pepper and I'm like that they put the pepperoni in the cheesy bread.

Why would we need any other food? I was thinking that, I think we're done. I was thinking, like, wow, we just you're crazy Puffs and Chuck Hart whatever this way, Yes, oh god, you can as twenty calories go out our wally chairs. It'll be great less than the last one. You know, all those wally people were having a good time to wally Caban Rude, that's true, you were happy. Not all of them were fat, right, some of them are fat. Alex messaging me

like you're gonna get diabetes from all that prime. I was like, it's one gram of sugar. Can't get diabetes from super lows? I'm fine? Is that true? Probably? No, you can't. You can't get diabetes from super gross. You probably can get a myriad of other things, but superpowers, superpowers? Okay? Uh, medical advisors, maybe check in? Maybe email POSI think it's healthy. I know you do. Okay. Next

comes from Sean Denver. What's up, bobcast I just recently found on Spotify a playlist called Video Game Guitars Volume six, so naturally I had to listen to the first got me wondering what's your guys' favorite video game songs? Me personally, I listened to Haavy Metal, so I leaned towards Doom Metal, Heal Singer, and Devil May Cry. Anything that's got a heavy guitar rift. Thanks Sean Denver, Colorado, Yahoo, Male Search, Organize Conquer.

Remember when Spotify had games Beat slash us make a playlist for them because they were launching that games channel. Oh my god, I forgot about that. I wonder if that's still on the I'm gonna look that. I find if the games Beat playlist is there. Yeah, it was real weird. I think that picture is just a picture of you wearing a suit. Weird. Yeah, I don't. I don't think that playlist is on there anymore. Yeah, okay, probably just the Yeah. I try to show you how

good time scar was during Deno Derby. You weren't having it a good time Scar cross on? Oh? Is that the one I was narrating? Yeah, which was funny. I like all sorts of video game music. I've been very much into the Ridge Racer type four soundtrack right now. It's great, uh, because I'm I'm in my Vinyl era been picking up a couple of soundtracks there. Symphony of the Night, incredibly good music on that one.

I got the Streets of each two Vinyl also, and All Timer Mega Man has very very good music across a bunch of games like Mega Man two and Megamu three specifically are just all time great soundtracks. I can listen to constantly Duckberg to quack Shot. Hearing that a lot. I'd be like, I'll be walking around the house now and I'll hear man Man Man Man Man

Man. Matt's like my kids singing to herself because she's been playing so much like Mario and Yoshi's Island and stuff, and so yeah, that's that's been in my head as well. I'm a big Nintendo music mark. Yeah, sure, sure. Are you more Aquatician or Sticker Bush Symphony? I go back and forth, but I think right now, I think if I was gonna like listen to one for myself for enjoyment, it would be Stickerbrush Symphony. What's that? I think I'm sticker Brush country country too. That's like

it's kind of like chill ambient but still melodic. Country has incredible music. I just don't know what they're like track names of any of them. KI did that. I was doing a lot of video game music so I could go three reload. Oh yeah, that's absolutely The Oory games had very very good music. The Final Boss them and Will of the Whists like or Versus

Streak or whatever like used to listen to that concept. I uh, I constantly have Sledge Life ones album in rotation all the time, just because I like hearing Mold all the time and I just like the feeling of Sledge in my lungs. The best the best song is is Cruising Blast theme song though yeah number one, but yeah, way up there, Honey to You is really good. Sail the Canals from five or six Yeah, shout outs to true love making from CAP Conferences, S and K two That song goes hard.

Oh. Maybe the best video game song ever that no one listened to is specifically the English version of the Burning Rangers theme. But Burning Hearts, not that Burning Hearts Dan Rocky for different Actually, also, people really need to check. You don't need to play the game, because I never played the game, but the soundtrack the Paradise Killer is fucking fantastic, so good. Oh, such a banger banger after banger, Burger after Burger. The

gammera a two thousand soundtrack that was very good. Yeah, yeah, I played I played people on my shows now. PS one era music in general had a specific like weird like elect like kind of electronic cup but it was always like a fusion electronic like euro like your Euro that game. Yeah the Guy's Going Tomorrow yet to one of the the first Vega song to win an

Emmy they win Tony. Also, anything from like Jet Grind Radios in the Bang, anything from any Sega made Sega dream Casi actually Religion and Offspring from Crazy Taxi, even tails this theme from song Adventure one, Oh Big, the Cats theme for song Adventure one. Hey big Guy, he little guy. Ah. Oh you know what I used to I used to jog to the Kamar Domic. That's like, yeah, that's a great one great soundtrack

across the board. Yeah I know that. Like the best music of the year during Game of the Year is always like such a garbled up category because it's all, you know, what do you think sounds are the best? And then we're just quiet for like a couple of minutes listening to a bunch of tracks. But it's it's it's a fun reminder of the year. Oh yeah, Lex Donut County, Donut Country, Donut County, good, good soundtrack, Donkey Kong Country, Tropical Freeze. No believe it was in any

way? Wow. Yeah yeah, oh, no one's here to no one's here to stop me this time bullet in the play from from resideval for I was gonna ask you about that, then I forgot. Yeah, what was the name of that song? Yeah? Hey, Final Fantasy ten to two a bunch of great music. Oh that's Fantasy. Yeah, yeah, you know, Fantasy has very good music. Uh yeah, all the Naboo Amatsu games. But then Soakin's work on fourteen and sixty sixteen has been incredible.

Fifteen actually had a good soundtrack because that was a yokoshim memora. God. Yeah, Final I'm just playing theater rhythm right. Final Fantasy is one of like the only a few video game series that can have its own rhythm game because it just has so much good music. Yeah, persona in minuted jazz. That was pretty cool. Yeah, that was nice of them to do. Good for them. Good for them all right. Final email of the show is another blind ranking. Thank you to Corey. Hello again, I'm

back with another blind ranking list. This week's theme is close to your Hearts. It's giant bomb game of the Year games. All games on this list made it to the top three of some year's list. There are six this week, and I have provided what year in place each one received. You can keep that info secret if you don't want to influence decisions. If you keep enjoying these, I will happily keep sending them. Corey film student at Kay you, Dan or anyone here. I'll buy you a drink if you

come to Laurence. Yes, gooner loses, Dan, you were you raising your hand? Do you know what this blind raking is? Yeah? Okay, So don't look at any of the games, Dan, Yeah, don't look at the log ship already I've already forgot So we're good. Wow. Figured, So Dan, we're gonna go one through six here. I'm gonna present these games and you as a collective have to decide where it lands one

through six without knowing the next game. So we had so if we hear one are like, oh that's number one, we might be in trouble, because then we might hear one later that we really wish was number one, but then we can't break in. Yep. So you're you're luck. You'll get it. I think I remember too much. I'll leave us to grab and Mitch. Okay, okay, I did see that. Okay, okay, all right? The first game here? Uh do you guys want me to tell you where it placed on the top three or top ten? That

doesn't really matter to me. Yeah, I don't think it'll affect it. Thanks, all right, first game Bioshocks Infinite? Where where did that ring? Number three? It's pretty high, man Boswak is so funny that game got re evaluated immediately in a less favorable way. I mean, so it's

one through six is what we're doing. One through six the top and the rest of these games are going to be in the the top three forever other years, Mike, I would just put this at six if we put it as again, I don't think if it's a bad I don't think it's a bad game. But it's a game that like did not accomplish its ambitions and also has annoying story, shitty politics that I really don't like. Yeah, it's just a cowardly game. Yeah, it's kind of a cowardly game.

We'll put it at six. Okay, it is BioShock Infinite from number three, and twenty thirteen is number six from twenty twenty four. Yeah, twenty four. Next up, Control? Okay, Control is better than Bioshocking if I don't know if it's like that much better, Jeff, I want to go back to this. Though pretty bad, it's quite a bit better. This was number two better in twenty nineteen. I want to I want I want to kind of put it around three. Mike, I would be working

up to what four? I'm you know what, I'm okay with that. Let's do four because I'm not thinking like we have four games left and they're all again going to be top three games. Okay, let's go with four. That's fine again, all right, Control? He is at number four, And to be clear, like at the time when I played Control, I'm like, this is a strong like eighty out of one hundred, Like I like the game a lot, but it's not one of my favorites.

Oh yeah, well we're thinking about it as we are right now, right yep? Okay? Cool? Oh yeah, yeah, number three Bastian bash I like Bastian. Uh this is this was Super Giants first team, right, yes, Giants Supermassive. I get a member Giant. Yeah yeah yeah. I just every time I've tried to play Bashian, I've never fallen in love with it. I know a lot of people adore Bashian, so I would probably I'd be okay with it at three, but that's you know,

I'll kind of I think three is fine. Yeah, I think three is good. Okay, yeah, okay, yeah, three's good. Bastian remains at number three because in twenty eleven it was also number three. Okay, then all right, next one. This was number one in two thousand and nine, uncharted two among thieves. The remaining slot is one, two and five. Okay. I really like I'm one of your favorite games. It's a very good game. It's so much fun. Look everyone, all those

people chatter five man. The turnaround on a chartered that people had baffles me to this day. I don't know where that came from. Do you feel good about putting it at one? I do. If you want, if you are worried about something else showing up, you want it at two. How many games do we have left two more after un charged more. I don't know. I want to just put it at one. Frankly, Yeah, let's put it at one. I bet, I bet the other two games. Yeah, I'm I feel good about that. So we'll have two

and five and five? Ok okay? Uh, number one locking in it? Yes, all right, we should do these for a whole BCR. Yeah, totally like. I think you picked the right number one. Yeah, train mission in the Yeah, the helicopter, it's better in the movie. That scene is actually pretty good in Mission Impossible Dead Record in part one and Mission Impossible one with Ted's Mark Wahlberg. Alright, number five here or the next title near Automata. Oh, this is interesting, Okay, I

like Near, Jeff does not. Okay, No, to be clear, I appreciate Near. I just think the combat is boring. Hmm okay, okay, yeah, I don't. I see what you mean. The combat is very simple. It's I just I just personally got bored by it. I guess it's we get that. In my opinion, it is boring. I do think five is probably fine for it. To be honest, it's a very good game. I'm not really bad about it. Bet some people ched, let's put it five. But for music Near Automata, that's songs.

Songs in that game are incredible, very good soundtrack, very good aesthetics, a lot to lick in your all right, I think this winds up working out because the final choice that is automatically at number two is Tetris Effect. Yeah. Oh cool, God, you did a really good job. This might just be how I would have writd these games to be. I feel like chats could be bad, but this is probably just how I would

have actually rtd these games. I might have put Near above control if I had some read the finalized list to me, all right, starting from the bottom, number six, BioShock Infinite number five, Near Automata number four, Control number three, Bastion number two, Tetris Effect number one on charted two among thieves. Yeah, I guess like I personally would have put near at like three and pushed his other two. I would have put control. I would have put near last other than that. Yeah, yeah, I think

I would have switched control in Bastion. Yeah, I definitely would have done that. Yes, Yeah, all right, cool, Corey. I love doing these blind rankings. These are very fun. I think we could stretch a whole podcast to take care of this if we wanted to do like a top ten or something. Yeah, and again there's said that TikTok filter that just does this for you, that gives you random games, So we could just do that. Yeah, that would be fun. Oh man, Like,

where would you put GTA five or whatever? All right, folks, Shots out to Corey, Shots at to y'all at home. We got a lot of stuff popping off this week, and a lot of great stuff from last week as well. If you missed last week's dumb Truck with Chef reactions, please go back and listen to that Yes, fucking all timer of an episode. Shots to Chef. You talked about someone that fits right in right away, and it was fully comfortable giving us shit deservedly. It was fantastics.

Everything I wanted was perfect. Also, the WrestleMania Tailgate video dropped last week. Dan and I did an anthropological study on the city of Brotherly Love and found out what tailgating was all about, and turns out Philly is pretty cool, Philly's pretty sick. We're working on the WrestleMania video, which will include a bunch of big Philly style hijinks, which I'm still dead set is a term. No one is going to tell me it's not. It's not.

It's incredible. What the one place you checked it down to is a Cleveland bar that I know style, that's where the phrase originated. Yeah yeah, yeah yeah. Demo Derby dropped yesterday. Go check that out as well. We also got a bunch of different stuff popping off. We did more content warning last week, as well as a Grub starting a Fallout New Vegas playthrough. We'll, we'll, we'll, we'll and check a bunch of mods

into that and see what pops off dumb Trunk this week. More Fallout New Vegas tomorrow, right, Grub, that's right, Yeah, I'll be playing it tomorrow. Also, we got Blake Club popping off potentially, Dan, do you think the last episode? I honestly, I don't think so. From the hearing Grub described the guide for it be like a lot of paragraphs

for way more than any of the other chann hard Mode. It's also Grub and I got brutalized in the comments for helping you too much, and like I don't agree, but like I gotta listen to the people bits I don't think. Well, then I guess we're doing super for the rest of our lives because if there's remember so I think that's what they want. I mean, I'm like, I love helping my friends. I mean, you know what I just sent Grub. Yeah oh yeah, yeah yeah, Grub.

We have picked your game. We have sent the items, but you'll be careful, make sure your wife knows and not just opens up and tell you very important. We're very, very excited about Grub's game. That's true, and I wanted to get to it. Look, I personally am like, look, I don't I don't find all that entertaining for Dan to just be wandering around aimlessly like I want him to get to the bullshited struggle. But look, it wasn't just like one or two people. All these people were

mad. I find that I'm not mad as I'm gonna help anyhow. You don't know those people. You know me, and I'm happy about it. You're making me happy. I like it. Forget those people. What's funny is I hung a picture of Dan that the picture that I won from Pack's East. I hung that up right about my trash cans, and now every single time I there something away. It's incredible. Also, this week another

episode of Voicemail Dump Truck. We're gonna be doing a Thursday grab bag upf esque stream on Thursday, checking out a bunch of things, and on Friday the upf dam and Lucy are going to be joining us. We might be playing Fall at seventy six. Who knows. We're gonna kind of play it by year there, but that seems likely. Also, this week BCR is returning. We're doing the flip flop schedule in between Power BombCast and BCR. And this week we're gonna be talking a lot about Stellar Blade. But folks,

gentlemen, what do we learned today? We learned I learned Mike shut the fuck up? Sorry four back, go ahead, hell us. We learned that Grub and I are big fans of the Snyder Cut, at least the Justice League. We also learned that's brood all you got to do is press R one. We learned that Nicky is a sleeper agent for the game bock Tie, So no one say bock Tie or shine a light or any UV raised that Nicky or else they'll get activated and want to fight vampires or

maybe do so. We learned that we can make friends and family at the Shire because nothing bad ever happens there. We learned that rappers love taking quack shots at one John Drake, and that maybe all of hip hop hates John Drake, but we a giant bomb love John Jo. Don't say things that you don't speak for everyone. We also learned, finally the most important lesson, that maybe lightning can strike twice, and that Mike Manatti can have a

funny joke two times in an episode. Folks, that does it. For this week's episode of The Giant Podcast, I've been chanted Shoa, he's been Chef, he's been Dan, he's been Mike, and you at home have been doing great. Make sure to floss your teeth, because it turns out that shit adds up. Y'all get rid of that plaque and we'll see you next week when you come back for another episode of the Drybob Gus clack shot sounds like backshots, the shout out to my hobbit holes. Listen to the

nineties sixties Universal ride breaking Do that you bitch? Jesus Christ? Do you think you can share a water pic? Ah? Should you you put those in your mouth? No? You shouldn't. Yeah, you shouldn't, all right. You can you clean it. It cleans itself. It's water. It's water, yeah, shooting water through. It's always cleaning its yeah. Nothing could grow in water. Yeah yeah, it's new water. All right, we'll see next week. Bye,
