Hey, everybody, It's Tuesday, September twenty sixth, twenty twenty three. Welcome to the Giant Bomb Cast, Episode eight oh eight. Holy smokes, as I feel I feel like this should slightly be in attitude. I'm gonna I'm gonna hit this button on on the goggler and hope to Betsy this doesn't break anything. Welcome to chart podcast anyway, all right? Powered by sixty kind of work? Not so much? Okay, and that's I'm like these things, oh too much, too much, too much for joining me co

Captain of the ship as always, Jeff Grub, thank you. Why do we have to go so high to get this to trigger? I just talk normal? Does it work? You just have a nice skare to say you're someone I've never heard sing. Actually it's Jeff Backlar. Hey, what's going on everyone? How are we doing this? Fine? Tuesday? I didn't realize over the weekend joining us also, Dan reichert yes, hello, hi. Uh. Somehow I didn't notice this, but Toto's Africa played in the

car for a good like ten times without me noticing stop it. I didn't realize it. I because like the pup was like fiddling around in the middle console and I think her paw somehow hit the repeat button on Spotify. Wows. Yeah, she's part of the conspiracy. Did you think about that, Jeff Backler, that maybe someone just like sat on like the repeat button. Were there any corgies in the restaurant that could have been responsible, now that you mention it, Uh no, I think no. No, someone way

more evil than an innocent little corgy dog could have had to behind. She's not soon to send these days. Man. That is a song though, that it keeps going and you kind of it does have like a fade out, so like it clearly ends, but by that point, yeah, like if you're not if you're not being real hawkish, you you will miss the end, if you're not being vigilant, if you're not standing on that wall,

who watches? Should we? Yeah? You know that's the thing that I noticed in songs from like the eighties early nineties that they would just have like a soft fade out rather than like an abrupt written long songs don't fade out anymore really, Yeah, I know. I was never a big fan of the fade. I need to end on like something a statement, you know. Yeah, Okay, because I was thinking maybe we should just start ending the podcast with like a soft fade out as we're like continuing the conversation

and the people be like, oh, what were they talking about. I kind of like that. I like coming in with that. I like coming in with it with the fade out. Oh where we came in the room in the middle of a conversation. It's on media resay, on media reservoir dogs, right, that's where the term comes from, right, correct, same language. Yeah, look at us, look at us film majors.

There you have it. Sometimes at the end of a song, like when they would do the fade out, you would hear they would like play around in the fade out, Like sometimes they would do like a cool like drum fill or something. You'd be like, oh, they did a little thing. It was like really low, but I heard it. You're just we're just messing around. I like when like the band's like clapping for each other

and be like, yeah, let's do that again. Yeah, okay, this is the one stays gone to days gone Like that was full, Let's do it again. I'm like, yeah, yeah, to be about the music, you know, that's when he used to be all about the music,

just like the bomb Cast. Yeah, wasn't the urban legend like you know Rainy Day Women by Bob Dylan, everybody must get a stone song where he like they all got super fucking high, and then he like right before they recorded, he took all these studio musicians instruments away and swap them to different musicians, like I'm gonna give the guitar to the drummer, I'm gonna

give the and then they're all just high as fuck. And that's why that song just sounds warribly and fucked up all the time, and they're all they're laughings around it. You know, we should do that, We should do We don't even need to be under the influence. I just don't know how well any of us play an instrument. You guys play instruments. I could play the alto saxophone a little bit, oh spicy, a little bit like it. Yes, yeah, I can play them, and the guitar poorly,

ooh ooh ie, both those things. I took guitar lessons in high school at Mars Music, and I told him I just went in there and like before I went to learn, like they're trying to to me chords and stuff, and that confused me, and I was like, no, can you just teach me how to play like sleep down the Fire like Gorilla Radio, like just a bunch of rage against Like how does Tom Marrella do that? Weird? Can I put a screwdriver in here and make it make some

weird sounds? You need to learn chords still. I was there for a month and then I left, But you knew what you wanted to learn, though, Dan, that's the thing rage against the machines, Becklor. Do you play anything? You have a drum kit? Yeah? Drums? Okay, all right, there we go, we got we got a band, right me one? Dan, you'll be the vocalist. Oh excellent, good name? Should all be so lucky? Can maybe you could just be like

an angel. I think could just be our hype man, to be honest, you know, just pound like your opener, like you're a stand up opener for a maybe not maybe you don't even talk. Maybe you just sort of like wave your hands around, clock your flay. You come out and I can do a bunch of like hype up stuff. Yeah you have like a little rally rag right, Yeah? You play that that Chicago Bulls song before they come out. Yeah you do, like the running Man dance?

Just do that at the entire I don't think I've tried. I don't think I can. That doesn't matter. What would Dan's job in a tore be like, I don't think it would be. It would be the would trust with the merch, would be trust on the merch? Wait, no, hang, I know he'd be like the head bouncer, like telling all the other busters how to handle the people. Yeah, okay, but not actually getting physical. I'm anything. Let me take a nap boy. Yeah. Yeah, when you ask me to do the running Man, I don't know

if you're referencing this or if you've even knew this. When I was asked to do the Running Man on camera for the Beauty and the Geek auditions, Oh wow, I didn't know, if you're right. Yeah, I'm sure I told that storry at some point. But yeah, when I was almost on Beauty and the Geek in like two thousand and three or whatever, one of the things they had me do was like, oh can you can you

try to do a dance called the Running Man? And I knew vaguely up so there is footage somewhere at some you know whoever made CBS or whatever headquarters of me and a hotel room in Kansas City trying to do the Running Man. Okay, well I need this. Is that on that video? It's not on the audition. The video I put up on YouTube, the addition tape that got me to the last They brought on eight dudes and I was in the last sixteen and I almost got on the show. But yeah,

the footage is out there somewhere. Well appropriate that today's episode is eight o eight and the heartbreak, because you know it was it was heartbreak for that person to not wind up with Dan, you know, of course it was their loss as as the beauty of the show. My mom was upset with me because they asked as the trivia questions to see if I was enough of a geek. They asked who won the Super Bowl the previous year, and I was like, oh, yeah, the Patriots. Yeah I watched that

one. And my mom afterwards like, you shouldn't have said that. They're gonna know, watching sports is in geeky you know what? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get it. I should I should I should have k fad him. Yeah, only only swifties watch football now, Yeah, there's nothing dirty about fantasy football. Those guys are super cool. Oh my god, I okay, all right. I had to not participate in any leagues this year because the homies just getting a little too toxic, little little too

much trash talk, a little a little too much coercion. I think actual money is being exchanged for some trades now, and it's ridiculous. Wow.

Yeah, Wow, that's that's it. What's fantasy football? The number one thing that if somebody is telling you about their fantasy football team, that no one could possibly give a shit, Like I feel like I look on Instagram and like the miss half his fucking post this time of year, or like, oh, here's the screenshot of my guys at my points, and it's like, I'm sure for you and your buddies that you do this with,

I'm sure this is fascinating conversation. But for anyone that's not in your fantasy football league, could anyone possibly give a shit about how your fantasy team? But other people will look so like I lost my matchup this week because I didn't play like these two like Buffalo Bills and Mustard who people will know if they play fan of fantasy football they'll know if I left those on the bench.

That's very painful. But that's it. If you have no other frame of reference, I must sound like a crazy person, which is why I'm like, I tweeted that, but I'm like, this is this is it. I spent spin up my points for talking about fantasy football on social media. I can't do that again for the rest of the year. So yeah,

that early in the season, huh. Yeah, I would rather hear someone talk about crystals for an extended period of time, or talking in their fantasy horoscope or yeah, yeah, if you would skip the final fantasy things on take fantasy football stuff on TikTok and the final fantasy ones, but I would watch a little bit of the crystal ones for sure. Yeah. I just I mean, look, I think I do think there are people that care me personally. I don't obviously, because I mean, I don't even

do fantasy hockey. I'm just not I'm just not into it, but care about other people's fantasy. I hear all my I hear all my normy friends going back and forth about like they're you know, but are they in the same league together? No? Differently yes and no, uh, And like like even last night, like Stacy does fantasy football with a bunch of her

girlfriends and yeah, and she was like showing our cousin the thing. He was like he acted and I don't know if he was just being polite, but he was like, oh, yeah, you've got this person who's fast. That's good. Cool, you want to see mine? And they just

scroll through their their lists. It's you know, you you can understand people liking a thing that you don't, right, well, yes, yes, but no, I'm talking about right where it's like if someone comes up to you and all they want to talk about is their fantasy football team, You're gonna come away and be like, that's one of the most boring people.

But it's very different than like, look, I don't like sports in general, but if people are talking about football or something, I'm not upset by that because it's like, Okay, I understand this is a large thing that millions of people enjoy. This is a thing people talk about. But when it's somebody's fantasy team, it's like, Okay, they're like eight people that care about this, right you know. I like I wanted to like if I was like writing a character and I needed to illustrate that they were very

boring. I'd be like, this person's in six fantasy football leagues and it's all they talk about. Like. That's the thing that I've noticed, though, is that the homies that get super into fantasy football, I don't think they actually enjoy watching football anymore. Many well they need to do it is to make it fun. I think, yeah. I remember my brother didn't really care. My oldest brother didn't really care about much about football, and

they start playing fantasy football and then that's all he cared about. It was very strange. It's just it's just, you know, you're just sort of like, uh, outsourcing your gambling. How do we do this for games through a different means? You know? But there's there's fantasy critic. I would do that. Mike Manotti's winning his fantasy critically. We could do that for the next one. Would do that, Let's do that for twenty four

I would so like like predict metacritic. Predict metacritics. So you're at the beginning of the year, you are going to draft a couple of games, and then you counterpick someone else's game that you think is going to get a battery coming in and then you have a budget of one hundred dollars and then each week you can bid on other games. Why are we not doing this? This is we can do it and we have. We could have updates

on it. Yes, I don't interesting it's all, but it's all on the podcast and we established we do the draft and stuff on here, and there might be some investing, like oh, okay, I think it gets each other definitely. Yeah, and then we'll playing underneath it, you know, as we talk about it, Chad says Dan will write bad reviews to tank grubs picks. I totally could. That's what That would be the most

unprofessional thing possible, exactly, but I love it. Every time that comes up we talk about that where it's like a mane fuck you over right now, and it's like, of course, never ever ever would do that. That would be it would be funny. There's something that got me on TikTok or YouTube shorts whatever it was last night, this whole like, how many times do you think about the Roman Empire? Okay, this is the thing.

I don't know what this is now. Okay, So people like women are asking their their boyfriends and husbands how often do you think about the Roman Empire, and many, many, many of them are being surprised to find out that these guys think about the Roman Empire multiple times per week, some of them multiple times. For these spartan fucking weirdos, I don't think about it all that much. Come out glad came out like two thousands, Okay,

then I thought about Roman Empire in two thousands. I just feel like, I mean, I am painting casting a wide net here, but like I know, I know who we're talking about. Yeah, like listen, I think, Okay, I think the last time I thought about the Roman Empire probably was when I was on some hike and saw a big arch or something, or maybe I was thinking about sewers and I'm like, oh,

yeah, that came from the Roman Empire. That's like once a year, and these I literally never do because I don't really know anything about it and I'm always confused. Like on Blake Club we were talking like I never know what's work and what's chewed from that era, like you know, what's got a war and what's real or what was Caesar or what was the only ad? You know? Like, so I literally never think about the Roman Empire yeah, I think that big part it is like I never had much of

interest. So I'm kind of with you Dan, where it's like I didn't investigate it. I don't listen to these podcasts. I never I don't watch the History Channel documentaries. Said, all these guys are referencing and stuff. I mean, I wouldn't gone to the Colosseum a lot if I lived back then. Sure, sure, it's like we're garden, you know exactly. That's like if you were visiting Rome, you would have gone No, no, I would have gone back then. And whoever, like the Bruno she

Martino of the era was, I'd got a big mark. But yeah, you know, okay, all right, I grub I'll walk it back a bit. Whenever I see Roman reigns name recirculating or whatever, that's when I think of the Roman Empire, the head of the table, you know,

the tan. Yeah, yes, Like what exactly is the context around like people like thinking about ancient Rome, Like what is the There's a whole bunch of different answers, But most of the time it's these guys that are You might be surprised to find out that they're white and they're into the idea of like cool empires and it didn't work out as well, and all the stuff that they are capable of and that they invented, And I mean to be fair, it's like, once you start like talking about it, I get

a little bit of the intrigue of Hey, like our entire form of government comes from that time and and yeah, stuff like sewage systems were invented way back when we were still using that. And it's like, yeah, like keystones like thin well Man and the Stoics, like these things that people still

reference today. I get it. It's interesting, sure, yeah exactly, but it's I'm like I pay more attention to like the American Revolution or the Civil War and stuff like that that those were the and even that I'm not thinking about that much stuff. What okay if you guys aren't thinking about the Roman Empire once a week? Or do you guys have a topic that you think your significant other would be surprised to think to find out that you think

about question? It's a great question because for me, it's like I don't think it'd be surprised, But I think about interstellar travels space about that every single days. That exactly, I think, Yeah, I kind of say everything I'm thinking. So yeah, okay, questions about the Roman Empire someone who are like genuine, like Novice or anything. One is that considered generally like a good time? And two why did it fall? Okay? So there, the Roman Empire is a massive, massive swath of time more than

Oka and this is the Caesar time. This was the part of it. Part of it. Yeah, some bay See Cleopatra was part of that. Because that confused the hell at me because I thought that was like pyramids and stuff. Well Cleopatra is much more recent than you you would think, Oh and she had some pyramids, But the Roman Empire was that massive that it was in northern Africa. Wow. Okay, so that's why that confused me. In that Assassin's Creed game where I was like, why the fuck are

there like Roman statues by the pyramids here? I didn't realize the relegate. Yes a crossover like Jetson's Meet the Flintstones event, you know, Yes, Okay, I mean I can't argue with the way you put it, but yeah, it's it's generally good. So if you were a Roman, it was very good. It would because they would like you would be protected by this this this huge apparatus that was almost globe spanning at that time. If you were anyone else, your culture was being decimated by the Roman Empire,

so that you could be I'm part of the Roman Empire. That's not so hot. Why did it fall? There's a bunch of reasons. I mean, I think it kind of just became the Catholic Church and didn't fall. It just because like it's still everywhere, it's they still like did they still have the same form of like government and stuff now? Like did that change? Well? No, like that that part of Rome, the Roman Empire

has gone. Unless I'm no expert, but so people in change. Uh, but like it's did they use the same form of government the Roman Empires? Did it fall? When it? When it fell? Like did it like did the fucking volcano destroy it all? Or like you know what what when? What do they mean when they the fall of the Roman Empire?

Like was that when Caesar got sapped or whatever? There was Yeah, there's a bunch of there was corruption in the government and it kind of it lost it's it's sort of democratic ideals, and I think, like what's happening now? Huh, Yeah, a little broad did it not? Right? Yeah? Yeah, right. The big I think the big problem is when that they didn't let Cody win and they would like kind of stir out that makes anymore guys exactly? Sure. So the brutus the at two thing, like,

was that a shoot? Uh? For the most part, yes, I mean obviously the play is dramaticized. The William Shakespeare played Julius Caesar dramatization of that. But most of that stuff it's like Hamilton's happen. It's like Hamilton of the time Hamilton. Yes, interesting, Okay, So it's a dramaticized yes, yes, okay, that's a shoot. Yeah, that's based on a work or a work based on a shoot. We're shooting. Oh yeah, this is We'll welcome everybody to the Mini Minnesota back to School.

Uh, yes, right there, Jeff back Clark couldn't do it alone, so we en listen. Thank you for the help. Yes. I came across those files as I was like cleaning a hard drive yesterday, and I looked fondly at them, and it was like, we should press these to a DVD and just leave them in four K edition with directors commentary, just me in the Corners, like it's like you and John Carpenter for some reason. Oh, hell yeah, let's go. He's just like the whole time,

he's like, no, how did I end up here? How did I get here? Ridley Stop pops in for one of the episodes, like, hell yeah, director of Gremlins too. Yeah, yes, Joe Dante, Reddit Gerwig shows up. I just watched h mean box, just watched Strange Days. Have you guys seen that Strange Not in a long time? And I did. I do remember this. This was not streaming anywhere for years and years, and it was like a big thing. So I'm you're saying it's on Max the place to go for HBO, and now, yeah,

it's it's fascinating. It was made like ninety five, and it's very like, very like cyberpunk. It was really interesting because it's it's predicting this like cyberpunk future. It was a very like it was set in like the late ninety nine, like hit twok type stuff or whatever, and like it's basically cyberpunk brain dances and stuff, but it's the cyberpunk fiction before the internet was really a thing. So no one's like downloading these brain dances or anything.

They're like putting like discs and defel bags and like you know, smuggling them to people and stuff. It's kind of awesome. It's it's yeah, I really enjoy it. Yeah, I love that little there was a lot of that. I even think like, uh, you know, it's fun to see sci fi that comes out of the time before like Wireless. Oh yeah, Like I think like like and there's weird like retro future movies like like like a Gattica, So we're like Gatica's like very sci fi but also

like but also just like very grounded in analog. Even a movie like uh, Minority Report right, where like Minority Report is the way future, right, it came out in like two thousand, two thousand and one and takes place in like twenty fifty something. But they're still carrying around like big ass discs and like bringing them over to things, and we're just like what stuff like the personal life ads and stuff like as they're walking by those buildoards,

it's like detecting Tom Cruise's face the eye recognition. But there's a lot of stuff. Honestly, that's like I think a lot of that stuff is like, hey, can we do that because that looked cool and Minority Report, like obviously it was always gonna happen, but I think a lot of Minority Report was very influential, especially for like ui ux stuff. Yeah, it's it's a good We watched a couple years ago and it really this star studded

and it was directed by Katherine Bigelow. Holy, oh strange, Jay's yea strange. We're learning pretty quickly that we might be huge marks for Katherine Bigelow because Point Break is one of our favorite movies of all time, and then this movie ever made. I think which one? Point break Break is the

best movie you ever made. It's a perfect action, it's incredible, and then we love this and now it's like I've never seen hurt Locker, Like I want to go back through like the Catherine Bigelow is one of like the war movies that I actually kind of like, Yeah, I could never be in the mood for it again. Yeah she did zero at K thirty two, like I do. I am kind of wanting to watch that again.

Uh. It always bumm me out how much they're like, no, yes, torture did solve this, and we know very much the torture did not help. But they're like, the movie's like, yeah, this torture rules, it's getting involved this ship. But whatever, it's a fucking movie, you understand. Watched Near Dark, Okay, I want to make a note near that. Yeah, we definitely want to watch more of her stuff. I've never seen that's yeah, I would totally when I watched more of her

stuff. Oho is in Strange Days, huh yeah. Two. The two bad cops are Vincent Dinafrio and William Pickner, which recognize him. He was like the sat guy and drive Anger. He's been in a million eighties and nineties movie. He looks like the guy from The Bear if he was older. Jeremy Allen White, Oh wow, yeah wow call that dude. Ye. Yeah, they're the dirty cops in there. You know who. Catherine Bigelow was married too briefly Cameron. Mister Cameron wrote strange Y Cameron wrote it

and she did it. Yeah, man, James Cameron is such a slut. That dude married everybody. He's on five and it's all like actresses from his movies. Right. It was like Linda, well, no, not Katherine Bigelow, Linda Hamilton, the lady from Titanic. We were looking this up. He's a giant nerd. He has no other way to meet women. So fortunately it's gonna work. Yeah, but you have to like drown them in the abyss and then marry them or whatever. Well, you're not

working anymore. So you like, I almost killed Ed Harris? Does that get you hot? Like a large actor? The last actor I would want to piss off, I think. I mean, even at his age now, I would, you would, especially out of me. Yeah, he would love him, And you know what I would, I would just lay there and understand of like, you're you're right, you right, You're mad, you must be right, you must be right? All right? Speaking about Ed Harris has nothing to do with any of the games we've we've been

playing, I believe. So let's talk about video games. I bet he hates video games. I bet you know liken't look after playing him after Top Gun Maverick, I feel like he'd do a voice in one. Sure, And Harris wasn't top I don't remember him in Top Gun Maverick. He was in the beginning. He's the general at the beginning. He doesn't when the plane is flying over it. He really did that oh yeah, and you're just sitting there like staring down a plane. You rule so much. Gotta

love it. Harris, Yeah, I think I think Ed Harris would really enjoy Party Animals, which is not a lot to say about this. We play this last week on UPF a whole group of Party Animals playing this game. If you've I think when we all saw the initial trailers for this, we're like, oh, it's a good Gang Beast clone whatever. It's actually

pretty good. Your characters move around like drunk babies. Yeah, and also, yeah, gang Beast clone, but like there haven't been a lot of those in Gang Bast is really fun, so I'm not really mad at it. And like there are really smart things, Like one of my favorite things is when you get knocked out, instead of just watching the rest of the

match like a dope, you can just throw fish. Like there's a mini game there where it's like it's charging up your coins and you can do two coins for a fish, three coins for banana peel, and four coins for a bomb, which is super smart because like if you just want to throw a fish, you can just kind of spam it and it'll maybe if somebody's hanging off of a thing and then get sit with fish. They'll die but probably not, but early you have a better chance of getting that bomb,

so you can do even more havocs. So it's like reward for kind of messing up early. It's nice. Yeah. It also controls a little bit better than I remember Gang Beast controlling, because sometimes during Gang Beast I'd feel like I'm pressing a button but nothing is actually happening. Yeah. Yeah, you couldn't really tell. It's you know, it's still like a wonky deliberately wonky where it's like, hey, I'm I'm I think I should have got that punch, but it's like, no, you have to get it right

on them. And the whole point is to make you miss a lot, because that's funny, and also it creates enough chaos that there's opportunities for kind of anyone to win. I mean not in our game, and it was me and Jan always won. But otherwise I think we think Blue Team of

Me and Bailey. The punches feel very floating stuff, but you can also pick up weapons in this, so there were times where it's like I just got a baseball bat and like Jan's duck is on the ground and I'm just beating the ship out of this duck with a bat and like that was connecting. Yeah, I was so afraid anytime I saw you with a frying pan, Dan, I'm like, Okay, it's on the other side of the map. He's got a frying pan. So I just gotta keep distance keeping

this because yeah, yeah, that's the other thing. This has like items and weapons and stuff to use. And it's funny because you kind of have to like scramble around to try and pick it up, and once you eventually pick it up, you're gonna get haymaker in the face or drop kick. It's almost a little power Stone in that way, you know, like it's like, oh, yeah, I have this thing, you know, like yeah, yeah, putting on a game like party game Powerstone, You're right,

yeah, and putting on a game pass super smart. Like I want to do I want to see what other like because we did two We did eight people two v two v two v two, and I would like to see what other permutations of that and we could do, you know, yeah, absolutely, yeah. We we just did the two v two with the solo was there was what eight teams, four teams four teams, four teams, and the week, so we could do it like every every person for themselves, we can do it with two teams of four, like they have

all of those options in there. Uh. And there was actually a surprising number of stages. I think the stage environmental hazards, especially the black hole, very good idea. That's like because it's at that point, yeah, you're trying to knock other people out, but you're mostly just trying to survive, and everyone be in the same situation where you're holding on to one another.

And then I think one time, the black holes about the start, and Mike had the chain, which is like the most anchored down thing you can have for the black hole. Other things are just these big, heavy objects that probably aren't going to get pulled in, and if you hold on to them, they'll be outside the orbit of the center where if you fall

down in the middle, you're gonna die. But Mike had the chain, and so I grab him, and then someone else grab me, and the black was about to start, and mike'side gonna be cheeky, he lets go, So it's like, oh, now we're all gonna be screwed, and then we're all scrambling trying to get back on the chain and he's laughing at us. It's like that those opportunities for are we working together right in this

moment or are we not? That's a lot of fun. Yeah. Or the boat again like power Stone and power Stone too, where the stage is moving and changing over time, where it's like you're on a big submarine at first, and so there's all sorts of places to run around everything, and then it starts sinking and sinking and tell it's like it's like the end of Jaws where it's just like this tiny little thing you're like hanging onto a thing. Is the boat sinks, it's like one of them spinning, so of

us proportions just spinning and everyone else's drowning. It's really good. I hope with game Pass that this helps like the life span of this game, right and then just really like maybe we'll get DLC. These are the types of

games I think wrestling companies should go after. Yes, Wow, what a good idea, right, Like can you imagine like yeah it with skins, like let me be like uhh Roman rains just waddling around all guys fall guys have like oscar An Undertaker and Woods and like, yes, that's uh yeah, there we go. If WWE two K had a mode of this in it, Oh yeah yeah. Just make wrestling games more arcady, that's the that's don't. We don't want fucking simulation sports games. That's not a lot

of people apparently do it so as well. But just give us the other ones too, give us the r K ones well as well. That would be great. But every time I tried that, it sucks too, Like two K Battlegrounds sucked. You know. All Stars was getting there, but the features, yeah, it was light on the features. Like the actual like moment to moment fighting was pretty good. But yeah, yeah, I'm I want to get back to party animals that I want to play more of

it. So I think we'll do it again on the site, give it a couple of weeks here, and maybe we'll do another upf for good. Yeah yeah, uh moving on all right, Jents. I don't think I'm I'm like really good at playing video games. I think I'm like mediocre at best. One of our co workers regularly tells me I'm shit at video games. Who says that? Is it Tam, No, it's not Tam. It's not Tam Tam Tam is not No, it's not Lucy, It's it's

it's Bailey. Yeah, she's she's Bully. Is it surprising and deeply surprising you? That means you don't know what Bailey was? Uh? Anyway, h I beat Lies of p which I don't understand how I did it. I did Wow. I had a free Saturday for once, and then yes, I finally beat a game. Everyone video games, all right, sh uh. But I don't know how because I've seen some people struggling with it.

But I think I kind of just zoned in and just sat here at my desk and like I just tuned into the puppet strings of the world and and and went through it and beat it. And does anyone here on the call right now care if I spoil the after credits? Absolutely? Absolutely? Okay, alrighty folks, if you're watching live and the archive, uh, spoilers for the very very last after credits scene. Uh for the next What time is it? It's eleven, it's nine thirty five. I'll try and

end this by like nine thirty seven. Okay, all right, okay, we'll keep it nine on the clock for you. So the game ends, and then like one of the people that you had interacted with is like on a train leaving saying like, hey, yeah, the experiment went. Wow, like we're gonna we're gonna take care of this and everything. Don't worry, but I'm gonna make sure that I find her. And then it cuts to another scene of like the the city and someone is walking and guess who's

walking. It's a pair of red shoes. And then the red shoes keep walking and then and then she stops. She clicks her heels three times. And then I think it's supposed to imply that from the Wizard of Oz is going to is somehow crossing over with this weird universe in lies of Pete And wait, is that public domain? It has to be, right, yeah? I also think like, well, yeah, I mean, I guess

unless they they don't say Dorothy, right, they imply they imply. And then and then I watched the after credit scene again, and then on the table is like the original cover of the Wizard of Oz book. That's cool. I think that's cool. I like, I don't know that is cool?

Just a public domain that idea, You're like, what, okay, So Pinocchio Winnie the Pooh, right, Mickey Mouse, No, no, no, you want people, you want people to play it, Jeff, No one cares out Steamboat will Okay, spoilers over, It's nine thirty seven now, But like Jesus H. Christ, this is a very good game. And I don't think I had if you have been itching for a Blood Born like equivalent, because it is so so heavily inspired by Blood Born very much that. Yeah, the UI is like one for one. No,

yes, like it's insane. Yeah, Like I hit a wall with that, and I just kind of bounced off. But like I mean, I'm like, like, well, if you're bad at video games, then I'm abysmal, right, So like I think you just have lower patients, right, like like, yeah, you have other things to do. So yeah, when you say lower you mean none so exactly, yes, yeah, yeah, No, patience that's all it is. You know, how how long all in? Uh? Like I would I say, I spent the

whole day Saturday. I spent the whole day Saturday. Like, oh fuck me, silly Jane. I don't want to make it a cold hard calculation, but where is this gonna like end up on your Game of the Year stuff. I want to know if I have to play this game or not want to play it. There's a lot of other stuff happening. See. The thing is, I feel weird that I wound up liking this more than I wound up liking Armored Cores six. Yeah, and then but the thing is, like, I'm also a big met guy as well. I don't

know. Maybe it's just the combat wound up clicking because it felt more familiar with Lies of P versus Armored Cores six, right, and there's definitely walls in an Armored Core that I was like, I can't fucking do this. I don't I don't care about these ravens or this this coral anymore, destroy all the coral. But like with Lives of P, maybe it was a combination of like it feeling like more blood born and then it being like tangentially

disney Ish because of Pinocchio and everything. And I was like mildly uh intrigued by the story, very intrigued by the the after credit scene, but like the story is like there's enough there where It's like, oh, okay, I see where you guys are going. It's not all the way there, but like all right, Okay, I'll let you cook question. Yes, do you think it's I mean, just based on what I played, I think it is more accessible and not accessible, that's not the right word.

I think it's easier than uh blood Born, Yeah, yeah, I think it's it's easier than blood Born forgiving at the beginning from when I from when I've been watching people, I think I think you have to go back to it, like like blood Born, there's more souls bullshit of like, well what the fuck, why why is this happening? But with Lives of p it's like it'll do that and then okay, no, no, you can

you can easily figure out like all the patterns and etcetera, etcetera. Uh. Something I'd suggest to people is when you are fighting high level or boss humans in the game or human like things, just use fire. Use fire for everything. Does it have that same invasion mechanic thing where people can It's all a single p which is which makes it weird that you can't actually pause pause the game, so there's no messages from anyone else. There's no death

marks of where someone died or anything. There's like no Internet connectivity to the game at all. Is it like if you save the game, does it like is it like saved positionally or is it like check mark checkpoints. I don't send it back to like the little like a little star Gazer, like the Bonfire equivalent. Yeah. I love the design of the end, like all the enemy stuff. Yeah, it just I kind of didn't like where

it went into our four which is maybe like chapter three ish area. I didn't really like how you left the city for a little bit as you go back and then everything else it just goes back into like the gothic blood Borne ish stuff that I wanted, and I really enjoyed it with this game, though, it's very, very very easy to get like the backstab on bosses that are similar to your size, So if you're having trouble in this game,

use fire and then just like kite around them. It is so easy to kite around them, and like I had to stop using the grappling hook arm that I was using, and I really like that, but fire and electricity wound up being more important and more effective, more effective utility wise than like shooting a grappling hook even though that I felt hella cool and yeah it is. Game also throws a bunch of weapons at you two. So if you have something that you're not really clicking with, you can switch easily to

a different thing. I am just excited about because you started this not that long ago and you just burned through it. So yeah, if you kind of can't stop playing it, I'm always going to give it a shot. We'll see. Do you want to know how it runs on on the ally or the Steam deck anything like that, because what were you playing on? I didn't. I didn't actually try and try it on the Steam deck. I should have tried it on the Steam but holy smokes, guys, Jesus

Christ, like I could never really nail the Perry windows. Also, if you're having troubles with the Perry's, don't treat it like a tap for impact like Securo. Kind of treat it like a tap to hold for like you're bracing for an impact. And then that'll that helps with the Perry windows. At least that's what I read online. And then I just wound up applying that, and then maybe it was just like the mental thing going to that. I felt like, oh, okay, yeah, yeah, I'm getting

it now. I'm getting it now, and then I just this game also rewards you for being aggressive because if you parry correctly or you block correctly, you get like the little bloodborne recover your health part of your meter, So

just keep slashing away. Also, just burn through your estis flask equivalents, because once you get to zero, you recharge them by hitting enemies, so you're you're kind of just incentivized to get in dad ass and with one of the bosses, you avoid the front part of it, get in the butt. Yes, that's that sounds like a from game then, okay, grub No. I remember trying to load it up on steam Deck and it wouldn't.

It wouldn't work for me. I just wouldn't, would it would It wouldn't load initially launch like that happens in the early days of some of these games. Wonderful. I better it probably works now, I think I was. Also that was also like the the beta branch, so maybe it's sure right we always like I think sometimes it seems like developers just disabled that because they're not sure. They don't want you, they don't want you reviewing it on there. I think that happens. Okay, all right, I'm gonna

give it a shot. I I've been finding that if I'm able to play stuff in the handout, so I'm much more likely to be playing them the lasts because I hear you bring up the rock ally and steam Deck a lot. But like, I know you you work from home. I'm curious about, Like, what is it about playing on those that, Like, you know, you have a nice TV setup and all that, why do you find yourself playing Oh damn, oh damn pooping. Yeah, I poop a

lot. Well, yeah, but it's mostly that I'm down here on working on the computer a lot, and I feel very guilty coming down away from my family to play continue playing games. And so far I can hang out around them while playing games. Then I'm even like even when everyone's asleep, sometimes I'm like, I don't want to go get back on the computer, get everything loaded up, even though it's nothing. It's nothing, but it's

a small little mental block. I'm like, I get just lay here on the bean bag, get get this thing going, and that'll be great. And then when I'm done, I could just hit the hit the power button and it's gonna go into sleep mode and I don't have to worry about it. If I'm like in the middle of something because that little hypernation will save it. So it just fits with the way I like to play games a

little bit better. I think I've always kind of liked handheld gaming a little bit better, but like stuff like Armored Core, I'm like, I played almost all of that on the ally. Now I kind of want to finish it on the PC. So there's still places for the PC and TV gaming for me, but personally handheld gaming fits better. That makes sense. Yeah, let me ask everyone a little question about steam Deck. Sure, I use it a decent amount, especially when I was gone for a couple of

weeks. I don't know if it's just me, but like turning this thing on sometimes is a chore. Yeah, you find that sometimes it's just like it's not not regularly using it, Like I'm like, oh, we gotta push this update, or like, oh we gotta reboot reset everything. Even now, I think I played this like four days ago. Oh that's what's happening, right, Yeah, I don't know what's it doing? It just you like, I like I have to do one of those like really long

power button holed downs. Oh and the like could be temperamental, yes, that and the ally And I don't know what that is, Like, what's happening? I could? You know? I think because compared to the switch, the switch is was built from the ground up to to be this thing, this handheld, so it like I think they prioritized going to sleep and waking up from sleep, Like people are gonna do that a lot. We

need to make sure that always works. And with with the steam Deck and especially with the Ally, they are working with Windows and a branch of Linux, and they're like, we're going to kind of be able to make these

operating systems do that, even though they don't really love doing that. It's not the way like they can kind of do it okay with with with laptops, but on laptops, every time you open it up, it's like you're gonna put your thumb on this thing to unlock it or whatever, and it's like, well, we don't really want that, or if we do have that, we're gonna minimize it or whatever. So I think they're kind of just faking that thing instead of building it from the ground up. And that's

that's probably and sometimes and I do think the battery drains way more. Yeah, suspending, Oh you know, definitely, last thing I'll say about lives of p another tip you will get ergo or like whatever the soul's equivalent is, like that that you use to gain a bunch of souls. Uh, never spend the ones that you get from bosses. Save those because I made the mistake of just burning through those really early in the game, just so

I can just level up faster. And I did level up faster, but then I missed out on a couple very very critical items that would have these even these like big collections of souls essentially. Okay, okay, or is it like you could it's like an Elden ring where it's like the remembrance you could sell or you can get this whip thing or whatever. Yeah right, okay, yep, yep uh. I forgot that aspect of souls games. And I was kicking myself in the shins because I didn't see you beat.

There was a point where I just like stayed in a place, just reset and just grind it away. I'm sorry for the souls veterans out there that I didn't pay attention to that. But speaking about that, you saying that you grind grinded away, like that's gonna make them happy too, because that's what they do as well. Oh, I'll grind away, grind away you sick perverts out there. Uh. Speaking about the Roger Ally and the steam deck, Jeff Grub, you had a second wind in Starfield thanks to the

Roger Ally. Yeah. The game runs surprisingly well on the Ally. I'm like shocked how well it runs. Uh. I had to update the drivers, which was weird. You got to go to the my Asus app on the Ally and then download the drivers there and they're like, where do you want to save these drivers? I'm like, idiot, I don't want to save these drivers, just fucking install them. But I'm like, yeah,

death save them and then install them yourself. It was stupid, but I got I got an updated right there in the drivers it says support for Starfield. I'm like, okay, well give it a shot. It's probably not gonna be great. I have my Ally set the seven twenty because I don't really notice the difference between ten eight and seven twenty. I do a little bit screen, right, small screen. Yeah, So I'm like, that's that's gonna help a lot. And then what the game has FSR two,

which is AMD's uprising stuff. And really what it does is it runs the game at a lower resolution and then tries to upscale it at seven twenty P. It's gonna default to fifty percent resolution scale, and that looks like booty. That looks like trash because it's basically running at three sixtyp at that point and then upscaling. But I found if I do it at like ninety percent, so that's like what six forty eight P, it looks pretty sharp.

And it runs between thirty and sixty frames per second pretty consistently, and honestly above forty to fifty frames per second most of the time. So it's a really smooth experience. And now I'm playing the game a ton again. I'm like picking up my ally all the time I turn it on. It takes a second to start because it's a stupid Windows machine, but it does, and then I'm back in the game and I'm going through missions and having a

pretty decent time. It's I think the game is a better served as something that like I'm playing in these little handheld chunks and when I'm like, I'm going to sit down and trying to make a night of playing Starfield like that worked early on. I had some good four five hour sessions. But now as I'm trying to clean some stuff up before I go to beat the game, this is working really well for me, and I'm like, yeah,

I'm fully back in the starfield now because of this. It is a game that is definitely it looks out of place when you compare it to just about anything else that's coming out, and yet as a Potesta game, I'm like, it's still mostly doing what I want. Obviously, the exploration, I think it's just not good. It's just not It's such a turnoff to like land on a planet and be like, Okay, there's a point of interest. How far away you wait to walk for five fucking minutes? Are you

crazy? And they are They're crazy, and that's and that's bad. It's just straight up bad. You got to you gotta kind of go get through that pain and then just use fast travel as much as possible. And I honestly they need to update the game and do something about that, I think over the years to kind of keep this game relevant. Yeah, I've been thinking about this last couple days. I've been thinking about this a lot because I'm playing. You say, it looks odd compared to other games that are

coming out or are out. Also Cyberpunk Yeah, you know, technically came out a few years ago, and I know it've got this huge update, but I've been playing that and it feels so much more like I'd never fast travel in that game. You know, it's just fun to get around. There's a lot of interesting things that just kind of pop up from place to place. I feel like I'm exploring this like living world, and and there's not it's not broken up by a million load screens and stuff. Even when

I go into interiors a lot of the time. It's crazy to me that, like Starfield just came out in this game that originally launched a few years

ago, feels so much more modern in every way to think about. Like I just had the scene with you know, Indris Elba and the President and stuff, and just watching the way everything's like kind of like lovingly animated, and it's very just kind of like moody and cinematic, and it's just this conversation versus every conversation in starfielder's like okay, Zoom and Sarah Morgan face at

the Constellation place, it's like, oh, how about that artifact? You know, it's it's that was that was the criticism about Cyberpunk, Right, took it out of the oven a little too soon, you know, little inside Right, it's good, It's it's really good. Now let's start talking about Cyberpunk because I fired that up for the first time. Uh oh really yeah, and Grub, I hate that you you've been mentioning is there a flashlight in this game? Is there a flashlight in this game? Because I

could really use a fucking flashlight. Yeah. There, Like I upgrades because you get like cybernetic eye upgrades the seat. I mean, when you hold in the LB, it kind of helps with just like seeing interests and interactable things, but like not just getting through. There's a lot of going through like dark buildings and Dogtown and tunnels and stuff like that. So I don't know, it's just like an HDR calibration thing, but it is definitely dark.

Oh you know, maybe that's what I gotta do because when I was watching the quick look now on the site that Grub that you did with Lucy, our game looks completely different than my give. So maybe I gotta fuss with the HDR here. Uh but yo, this shit is this it's good. This it's great. Yes, did y'all know this? The cyberpunk is

good? Turns out, I'm just learning it. Yeah, Like I'm not even I'm nowhere near the phantom liberty stuff, right, but like the base game now it's like, oh shit, I'm just putting this out there. So like this does qualify it for like a Game of the year sort of like a thing? Absolutely? Yes, Yeah, I'm just wondering. Cool. Yeah, well the hell thin grenades on cool down? Was that always a thing in the game, because like I don't because I ever time I

use health and grenades. Now I'm like, this is great. I'm just actually using then them because I'm not worried about going through a stash grenades or like I remember in Starfield, I was constantly looking for medpacks and stuff like that. Yeah. Yeah, cool downs for both are awesome. Like I love that. I don't remember that originally being in the game. No,

it wasn't so that everyone in chat saying they were consumables originally. So that's a new thing that they've changed, and it makes it so you could be much more aggressive in combat, right, you can just go for it. Yeah, and and and that's that's like I think the changes that are really big here are that combat is more fun and you can't get more aggressive. They've reworked the RPG systems. Your character building is much more interesting. You

can really spec out your character to be a really cool net runner. Now there's other parts of the Blade stuff, the Shinobi stuff, and like the Blade combat I never really did the first time, and now like dashing around would be and uh, it does that smart thing where it's like as you use stuff, you're leveling up. Like I always loved that in the Oblivion where it's like I'm jumping more and I'm getting more of this, But it

doesn't explicitly tell you on that attribute screen or that perk screen that like, oh, so you're not just like doing stupid stuff just to level up. But if I do a fight where I'm really doing a bunch of mantis played stuff and at the end it's like, oh you're Shinobi went up this far, it's like, oh, okay, cool, Yeah, I was using that, so I leveled that up. Like that. That's where it's at

its best. And it's especially like because like it's not a sandbox game, You're not going to be doing a lot of like going around the world and just having stuff happen. But once you're in combat, then it is kind of a sandbox game because you can like decide how you want to attack anything, and there's a bunch of different ways to do it. So I'm I'm pretty happy with this game now. It's not I'm still kind of harbor like

a little bit of a grudge that it's not what they promised originally. Sure, but what they have now is a very fun, very solid game that's easy to recommend and easy to have a good time with, especially because it's so immersive, like it's it looks so good, it's so well animated, all these things, and then I kind of don't care that the basketball game that's happening over there, it's just like this little vignette, a little scene

that's no it contributes to the overall thing that they're going for in a really positive way. Yeah, you know, I I told y'all that I expect my character, specifically in Starfield, to just do nothing but punch people, because you know, they showed that off during Summer game Fest, and it never felt really satisfying and it felt more like a chore too. And I realized I fully realized that I'm making the game harder by only wanting to punch

people. But Dan, you said it perfectly. With the Shinobi skills and the blade skills, like here, I you could get through a lot of it purely melee. If like, you're just dashing around a lot and just increasing those skills, like and themobile thing you get. You throw that on RB and I listen, he's disappearing for a few seconds, pop up blades. Someone like feels great. Yeah, yep, man, I finally understand why people really like cyberpunk and Fantom. Liberty itself is is very cool.

I've played a little bit more of it since that quick look, and it is a spy thriller. It is political intrigue, cool characters, eat your elbows, very cool. Coolest president I've seen it in a game. I think solid snakes. Keith David. What about Keith David. Keith David's also great. I got to him yet wow. Oh no, no, Keith David and uh saints bro oh oh I thought even this. I was like, oh, see Keith David. I love Keith David in every game.

Yeah, that president is I have a crush on her, and I don't think she's romancible, So I'm pretty disappointed by That's very cool, yes, uh grub so is Phantom Liberty. Like it's a whole different campaign, right, Like can you access from the very beginning a minisequel? It's like it's like twenty it's like twenty hours or something like that. Uh, and you can. I guess you can start the game and go right into it because I just picked up my say from the end of the of the game and

then drove over there because it was open for me. If you don't start in Phantom Liberty with a new character and you go down them, because that's what you're doing gen right, you're playing the main main campaign, I guess you're gonna be like eight to ten hours before that opens up to you or something like that. So yeah, I'm I'm really enjoying everything, and I think I'm happy for the studio to for the game finally to be where they

wanted it. But how when did Cyberpunk originally release? Yeah? Damn wow, someone said in chats, not early out of early access there it is. It's definitely Yeah. With the game that is out now like two point zero, Phantom Liberty do you see. Would you want a multiplayer version of this now or just keep it contained to what it is. I don't like a multiplayer game to me. They canceled that project they were working on that I don't I do not think it's worth it to go back to that.

Okay, alright, alright, you know what I have a problem with with cyberpunk stuff? Though? Not enough witches, not enough witchcraft, grub. Is there witchcraft and witch fire? Yes, there's witchcraft and witch fire. It is uh. This is a new early access game available on Epic Game

Store right now. It is a first person shooter Rogue Light. That is, it does very much remind me of Hades, where you are starting out and you have all these things you could begin working towards to unlock more weapons, to unlock magics, all all these things, and but then it just

feels cool. You have this map that you're going to go into, and there's a bunch of maps, but right now I'm on like the starter map, and you go into the starter map and it shows you immediately like the I don't think the map itself changes, but the placement of the enemies change and they'll be like a skull, a skull with horns, a skull with like really big horns, and it's like those tell you this is a dangerous area, a very dangerous area, and an extremely dangerous area, and what

you want to do is kind of like start poking at those dangerous areas try to get through there, because if you clear out that area, you will get a bunch of which fire, which is like this basically the currency you can spin to upgrade all your stuff and unlock more of the skill tree. It also gives you a selection of options to improve your build, and it's

going to be randomized. It's like, oh, your electric boats will be more powerful, and I'm like, well, I don't have electric boats yet, so I'll take this one that makes enemies weaker or something like that. And there's this whole long list of like, oh, if if I clear up this entire map, i cant have a very very powerful character by the end, And so far I'm only getting like three or four of these camps

cleared out. But it's like it's each build and each each run is feeling very different from from the last one because I'm getting all these random perks that I can add to my character, and it's like, man, this, I'm god, what's such a strong design of rogue lights? Put it? Putting that together with something that feels as good to play as a really strong first person shooter. I'm having a really good time with this. It is a surprisingly great game. I think it looks really good. It's not like

holding back anything. It looks like a triple A video game. Yeah, I'm having a very good time with it. I mean, does it feel like, you know, a rogue light made by the people who made or a painkiller and bullet storm. Yeahs, I know you said that it's not the same studio, right, because it's not people people from people can fly.

Okay, yes, it definitely feels like that, Yes, if it feels like very much, yes, And you know it's kind of a dash move and stuff like that, and you're going up against a lot of dudes with like you know, they got a pitchforks, and then there's archers, and you know it's easy to dodge that. And then all of a sudden, you're like, that's a swordsman and he can leap like from fifty yards

away and attack you from anywhere. So you're like trying to time your dodges on that and all that stuff feels very cool, but it's like I can already feel myself getting into the grind of all right, I made it a little bit further. I made it a little bit further. Let's go back to the base. Let's see what I can upgrade with all this currency. You know, obviously it's like, okay, you are. You come out of this portal and if you want, you can just retreat back through that

portal. But that's going to close over after so long. So it's like this risk reward of do I keep pushing into the world where it's going to get more and more dangerous, or do I take the little I got and go back out that portal? And so far I'm like no, I'm gonna keep going because I want to keep building up this character and see what I could do. And I'm dying about half the time, and half the time I'm finding another portal deeper into the world that I can unlock if I standing

by it for thirty seconds and usually fighting off a wave of enemies. And so I'm not getting through this place yet, Like where there's this which at the end of this map, I haven't taken her out yet, but I am like getting further and further each time, sometimes finding the portal, sometimes taking the currency back and upgrading, uh, you know, either improving my

weapons or unlocking a new weapon. And usually that'spect through research in this book, where I'm like, hey, I'm going to oh, let's research shotguns or let's research improvements for you know, double tapping the gun or something like that. It's very very cool. I'm just unlocking magic. Now I can start doing a little bit of fire. So yeah, a lot of cool stuff happening in this game. I'm very into it. Nice. Yeah, for whatever reason, I like this genre video game. I don't know what

it is. I have a difficult time speaking the same language as it talk about rogue lights. Yeah, Like I just you know, and I think it's a me issue, right, Like, I just don't think I have it explained out to me concisely enough where I'm like, oh, okay, now I know what I'm gonna try and do, right. I got to the like, I'm just like, this is a lot of skeleton men for just me and my gun. Yeah, I don't think that's gonna work out.

And I don't know. I like, but now that hearing you talk about it that way, like obviously, in hindsight, it makes a lot more sense. Did you ever did you play Hades? Yeah? I did, but I didn't. Yes, I see, but you know what it is, dude, Like, yes, I know how Hades works, and I know the loop there and I know what I have to do. My brain just could not take the transitive approach and be like, oh, it just applies to this as well, with different sort of dressing, prospective and

the whole thing. So I think the game does present itself a little bit like oh, yeah, this would be something you're gonna have progression in that it's going to be very persistent where it's like I did that thing, so I have that thing. It's like once you realize the first time you're gonna

lose it, it's like, okay, so what is happening here? You do have to kind of explore that that hub world a little bit and see what all those things are inside the church and the little character of it, Like Okay, I see like Ie going to activate the research for this thing, and it's what it's gonna be, like, Okay, come back later because that research is gonna be done it's like, Okay, well now it's time to go on a run and try to see what I can accomplish.

And if I don't accomplish anything, I come back, well I did accomplish something because now the research is done. So it's like all these like parts working in conjunction to make it feel like you're making progress in these other ways in spurts here and there. So sometimes I would be okay if a game over explained itself, that's fine, just you know, keeping these games are like afraid to do that because they think they think part of the fun is

you sing these discoveries yourself. But what's the balance there? I agree? I mean it's early access. I bet some of that stuff changes, and I'm very self aware that, like I want more than average I would imagine, compared to the average Joe. But it only the spark only lights in my brain after I die so needlessly the first time where I'm just like that was fucking really hard in a minute, is this one of those things? And then the cycle sort of like plays out. So yeah, it's dope,

and I love how it looks. I'm all about the vibe this game has. Is U is very much my shit. So yeah, you're just like this witch hunter and stuff like that. I like this spooky. It's I did have one run where it's like, we're gonna put the extremely hard thing here basically right outside the portal and force you to fight it. And it's like, Okay, now I know what I'm up against. I've had real no chance of surviving like the fourth or fifth wave of these very powerful

enemies. But it's like, okay, I kind of have an idea now, and that's a goal to work towards, is be able to survive that scenario. You know what. I feel like roguelikes and the Souls genre have killed for me. Trope Wise and video games the boss fight that you're supposed to lose. Yeah, because sometimes I'll walk up to a boss fight. This happened a lot of lies if people like, yeah, maybe I'm just

supposed to lose this hard and then I never loved that. Yeah, Like, uh, I think if you're gonna do it, do it at the very beginning of the game. Yes, yes, do it. Don't allow you don't don't make it possible to use items if you're like desperately trying to heal yourself and then you lose and you come back and like you actually don't have that ship. Yeah, if it's an exposition tool, it's almost always like you just it's impossible. It's like it's it's impenetrable, right, like

uh, but yeah, like what was that one? It was like a DMC or mean something like that, like someone was, uh, somebody was like figure out a way to cheese it right at the beginning or something like that. Like Virgil. There's a Virgil fight in DMC. It's something like that, is that? Yeah? Yeah? Oh, I was thinking DMC five with like the big dude with like the oh yeah, five's weird. Yeah, there are parts of five that I liked. I like, it's fine. I don't like that v guy. Oh, I was gonna Sarah

like that he walked around in sandals and read poetry. That guy, No thanks. Familiarity breeds contempt. It's just to here re minds you of you so much, Dan, And I guess that's probably the problem man, right right, yeah, yeah, So I'm gonna I'm gonna before you before you get to the last one, can I chime in please? I'm gonna fucked up spot right now. Guys. Oh, dude, what's wrong. We handed down a pretty aggressive punishment to my son. Oh and no roadblocks for

a year. You deleted Tears of the Kingdom. No, but he's not allowed to play games for two weeks. What happens? That means being a piece of shah. That happens. What do he do now? It was it was like right when we got back from from the break whatever, it's almost over, and we're like we like, of course, leave it to me to like gamify his punishment where I'm like, I have this chart where I'm like, now, look, you can actually earn you could earn days

back if you do this and go on this collection quest. But he, uh, he can't play games. And I realized, like, oh, I looked up in a major way because now I can't play Zelda with him and play without him. That's part of the punishment. I played myself is really what I did here. I worked myself into a shoot. No,

I shot myself into a work. Actually, no one understands, and it just sucks like I fucked up. And I just want to talk to you about it because like that's you're my friends, and I feel like it's a safe space to do that, and you never considered telling him, I'm gonna go play Zelda without you. No, I can't. I'm not a monster. Manunder punishments for a reason. Man, you gotta make him regret it.

He really, Jeffer, he definitely regrets it. He's you know, and he's been very he's been good and he's very aware of what's happening. And I'm not gonna lie just throwing this out there too. Take your kid off screens for like five days, and it's better. It's just like an empirically better. I'm not saying what's the improvement there, I'm curious. He's just more interesting, Like he's just he's just better. You like him more,

is what you're saying. Like like a dinner, you know, sometimes we would like throw on like a regular show or something like that, and like, you know, I want to watch regular show too, because we're in the last season. We're finally seeing where the the Tree Planet spaceship goes, and I just it's just fun like being with him, you know, like there's more time obviously this thing. And the correct answer is the balance, right, Like, the correct answer is finding the balance. So we've

just drifted into one extremity. Uh, but yeah, he's you know, he's just seems like he's just like a better well rounded, sort of adjusted person. When he's reading books or something, he's like, yeah, he's I'm walking around and sandals reading poetry. Yeah, he's wearing as the Rocks and Fall the Roman Empire just to sit on a shelf there. Yeah, you know, smoking a bubble. It's like, you know, it's cool.

He's like got it all together there. I think like, uh yeah, I think, well he has reading assignments for school now, but like, yeah, I just think there's you know, it just opened up things to Stas and I were just like, oh wow, you know what, like turns out you and I working so much in him. You know, it's it's a it's let's find a better balance moving forward. But yeah,

the bottom line is I fucked my fuck myself with this Zelda situation. I want to get back to playing that, and I'm just I can't till like maybe Friday. So all right, well that's fine. Good luck just came out. Yeah. Yeah, look, I'm taking my time with it. Okay, you know, I'm taking my time with that thing. One day we're gonna finish it next year. I too scared to go back to it. Like after I saw that, I'm like, yeah, shit, fuck uh, last game that well we have here on the list. I believe

only Dan has played, and I'm very interested to hear it. It's also my favorite Journey song. Dan. You've been playing Resident before remake separate ways. Yes, it's very fun, and it's not what I remember from like if I remember right, it was the PS two version of Resonne before, and it was you play as Ada and it was very much like if it's been forever, But I remember being like when you and her meet up before

the courtyard with the dogs and stuff like that. I feel like it's covering kind of that part of the game, and this is like kind of a wider spanning length of time and there's more game. Like it's way heavier on like stealth stuff like clearing out a large areas like around the castle with you know, stealth kills. You've got this grapple gun for mobility and everything. So it's actually changes the decent amount of stuff introduced. Some weapons. I

just got this like exploding crossbow thing that's super fun. It's you know, I don't think it's going to be a super long thing. I've heard it's like three or four hours, but Ada is awesome. I thought Separate Ways was a great addition to resue before the first time around, And any excuse to play that game more, I'm into. And if you like to remake it's that was some fun new like little bells and whistles. Don't expect like a total like you know, remaking of the game or anything like that.

But you liked it. It's this is well worth like what ten bucks? I think it is? Yeah, dropping the bucket, Yeah that's awesome. Yeah, yeah, it looks super duper pretty now chees. Yeah, and you can do some two words like let's say you shoot I love doing the melee stuff and resume before. And let's say I'm twenty thirty feet away from a guy, shoot him in a leg, stagger him. You'll get the melee thing that pops up. But since she has the grapple guns, she'll

grapple in and then like kick him in the face. Like it's pretty cool. Yeah. I wanted to bring up Ari four as the last game because I wanted to ask folks like, what what what's the appetite here? Is this where where do we think on like top ten wise huh where without a doubt, no, no question, like and that's making space for like what's about to happen later month, right price if it makes my top ten. Uh, I'm not trying to troll or anything. I know Mike, that'll

make Mike furious. But uh, I just wo, I did number one, number one, Mber one or two? Mike. I love you to death, but you simple idiot. It's not going to be number someone that doesn't like spooky stuff. I'm so surprised he really likes this game. He's liking spooky stuff these days. Actually, I love spook like again, if I think a person even came out on Halloween, would it would probably move up a flier too. But no, it's I think it's someone I was

looking in the chat about top five. I don't know if it's the top five floating around five or six for me right now. Yeah, but okay, it's not better than it's not gonna the one up Zelda like Zelda Armored Tour, Mortal Kombat. Mario is coming out like there's some heavy hitters forgetting Mario Wonders this year. Mario Wonder Mario wonder. Yeah, Warrio were with

like pooping an egg game. Yes, all right, I feel like, out of the four of us here, one of us needs to devote a little bit more time to Balder's Gate three, and I think I'll I'll take the plunge. I'm gonna I'm gonna spend some more time with that, for sure. I gotta I gotta get block Lesner back. You know what was Yeah, I've played a second of that game, but that's my favorite part of the whole entire thing we've done with that. Like, I really enjoyed

when we played the multiplayer stuff. That was fun. But then to like try and lock down friends, cult workers, miscellaneous people online, to like, all right, we're gonna play this for forty hours. Okay, how people do that? Like how do they coordinate and have the time, And like, I just I don't understand how that's possible. Oh you get that?

Come on outside of work out of blue the last what did you fucking every fucking day from the moment I wake up the moment I go to bed, I'm doing it like I'm maybe eating in an hour of cyberpunk last night. Among all this shit I got going on, like I wish I had way more time to play video games, and so the idea of coordinating with a group of people and playing a game forty sixty one hundred hours, like that's insanity to me. I have no idea how that's possible. And that's

probably why fantasy football works. We've we've closed the loop on segment one. I guess maybe we're all gonna get into fantasy football, but we're definitely gonna get into Fantasy Critic next year. And I'm gonna I'm gonna start writing reviews for this website. You know, we're gonna starting scores on this podcast. Just a tank, Mike Manati specifically get them. Oh, I don't think I'm ready to get into ball. There's gate three. I just remember I

want to play through Alan Wake for the first time. Oh yeah, yeah, oh no, oh no. And then it's wait, rebirth final Fantasy seven. Rebirth is not this year, right, It's not. No, that's early next year. Oh, thank you, Baby Jesus. Yeah, you're gonna be You're gonna gonna be fine. Ye shouts out to Baby Jesus and shouts out to y'all, And we'll see you guys with the news after a quick bricky break, Bye bye temporarily. This show is brought to you

Welcome back to the giant BombCast how we could slash, should dismantle kind of funny in a a dodgeball game, you know, yeah, oh, don't forget about that, guys. But I really do this. I'm beyond planning the seeds now. I just want to like, I'm just waiting till it happens. Miller

would be a distraction and yelling and all that stuff. So just get him out first, but during where he has like room exactly, because if Miller's on the sidelines, he's going to be more effective. Yeah, you're yeah, I agree. Yeah, that's the room when you get hit. Yeah, he's gonna be yelling the whole time, but he's yelling the whole time and playing, he's gonna run out of breath. That's a good point.

That's point. Okay, this is why we had these conversations. Yeah, okay, see I almost feel like i'd i'd be more effective on the sidelines coaching and and like as a tactician, you know, I think, know you'd be effective, like we get snowbike Mike out and you out, and then you just distract Snowbike Mike so he can't get them strategies and tactics and stuff. I think if snowback. Mike is like the healer of their team, right, He's gonna heal their morales support exactly. But I think they

could all kind of be that, like Miller could do that. Mike can do that, Tim Gettis could do that, like they're all there are some not shy folks over there. Yeah, and we we all have shame. It's no different deep well not no, no, Well, that's why Manati is like a ringer of the team, you know. Okay, yeah, that's fair. We've just been telling him we're right. No, no, I know, I know, we've been telling him we're going to pick him last to anger him. Right, But maybe, but maybe Manati is our

Jade Cargill and he's about to jump ship. Oh totally, he's our Jake Jade Cargill, Mike. Yeah, they're indiscernible. Yeah, I've never seen them in the same room together at the same time. So's he's technically not signed. So yeah, I can't wait for them. No, no, I'm saying that Manati is and signed. I can't wait for the ESPN article to drop. Will we say six on six, right or five on five? Six on six feels fine? Right? So who so let's go through

who they have? What do they got? What are we doing here? Well, it's like the six of them, right, like the is there just six of the six main there still I don't know, there's a bunch over there. There's an obscene amount of them. I just want to Matt. I just want to see how we match up. Pound they got. They got Greg, Tims Stoke, Mike Andy, Yeah, Andy, yeah, Yeah, that's the five a whole crew over there. They're gonna Joey yeah, oh yeah, Nick yeah, Nick Scorpino yeah, Nick, And

then like, okay, we'll put alternates. They could have Gary Witto play yeah, the Paris yep. That please. Now, well, if we're gonna have snow, if we're gonna have Mike Manati, right they I suppose yeah, all right, then us it's what us four back are Dan? We could use by me? Okay, Bailey? All right? We so is Manati our sixth? Yeah? There you go, okay, and then alternates we'd we'd subb in Tam and Lucy. I feel like, would Tam be pretty good? I think Tam would be very good. I could see

it. Yeah, yeah, you can put me on the sidelines if you know, we want to throw like Lucy and my spot or so I'm not going to Yale. That'd be fine, that's true, that might be more effective. Yeah. I can use better than that capacity. I will get hurt right away. So let's let's hyeah put Lucy. Yeah you know what, did you good? I can get hurt in numerous circumstances. Be a good uh dodgeball like manager, you know, like give you a megaphone,

right, and then he's austrailing on the other team. Yeah yeah, signed him on the tour. Might as well do it for dodgeball. Yeah. I like that, Okay, I like that. So the theoretical teams would be Greg, Tim Blessing, Andy Snowbike, Mike and Nick versus Backlar Grub, myself, Bailey, Tam and Lucy with Dan supporting on the sides. Yeah we win that easy, Yeah yeah, yeah, I think we win that. And then manadis just sort of he's the seventh man. Yeah yeah

yeah. And then like we'll have Emma on the side with a clipper like strategizing with like a whistle, and like the white board and we have like the xs and os and white board markers. It'll be great. It's gonna be deflating the balls, reading the other team's signs. We're gonna cheat every way we can exactly one hundred percent. Speaking about Emma, new episode of her show just released on game Spots YouTube channel. I think it's about chickens.

This, yes, chickens. Uh, Grub the news. The news is my wife just switched to an eyePhone and I'm not talking to her. Is it the fifteen to move? Ye? Okay? Is it? Is it the fifteen? Yeah? Okay yo, alright, alright, alright, Grub. I'm so sorry to interrupt you. You gotta do what you gotta do, Okay, all right. I love I love log footage, and I know that I'm never gonna have the time or patience to color correct that shit. But I absolutely love the idea of shooting log on a phone.

Haven't seen these people shooting four KSE sixty Apple pro rez straight to a separate hard drive from their phone. It's why I love wirelessly to a hard drive plu USBC. Okay, nice, I think that's cool. Like, I'm all for that. I think can you shoot photos in raw? Yeah? You can do that. That's coming to the new pixel too. I think, Yeah, I don't know. It's just like I don't like how she was peer pressured into it. I don't like that, like her phone.

That's the whole strategy though at this point is oh you got a green bubble, you're subhuman. It's not even that. It's not even like the sort of you know, exclusion. It's more like people are like, I don't know how to add you a group chat or something like that. I'm just like, well, that's kind of what it is. We made everything too easy for everyone, and now we're paying the price. If I five or fourteen pro Max, is there any reason to get the fifteen I don't think

so. I don't really USBC. I mean I like USBC. I got the new AirPods just for that, and then like I heard the action buttons good or something, but I don't know what it does. You can make it do whatever. That many improvements, Okay. I want to get rid of these lightning cables, yeah, I mean if that's the thing. I just love how Apple's like, Oh, lightning cables suck, don't they. Yes, we invented USB. Yeah, just like the Internet, we also

invented USBC. Awesome. Oh Exapple I've got some news here. Let's start with the Xbox Plus activision is provisionally approved by the CMA. This deal is probably going to go through. Now, the UK's Competition and Markets At already basically was like, Hey, that Ubi Soft deal that you made where the cloud streaming rights, you've completely sold those off to Ubisoft, and now if you want those Microsoft, you have to go license them back from Ubisoft and

everyone else can do that as well. That solves all our problems. So the CMA basically said, hey, this deal is probably gonna go through. They're gonna make their final decision. I guess the process might start on October six or something like that, but the final date for this, uh this process is October eighteenth, So by the middle of next month this deal should once and finally be truly done. I feel like there have been four news

stories on podcasts I've been on now is saying like it's done. It's I feel like ten years fro now it's gonna be like, oh it felt through, Oh it's going through. Oh it fell through like ye I don't blame me for feeling that way, because that's what's happened. Yes, this is stupid. Like the same company. You know, I think the writers strikes started and ended in the time. It's still take it for all this stuff that yeah, Bachla, I remember you at Summer Games Festialized or the Game

Awards last year, like trying to explain this to me. It's been going on since before that whole say yeah, good lord, it's you know. This time, it's like the regulators are like, hey, you changed one thing, so we have to do the whole approval process all over again. So that was the big hold up this time. But this really is the final hurdle. It's been approved everywhere else. It will once it's approved in the UK, they will just close the deal and that will be that,

and then Activision will be under Microsoft Gaming. What happens to that point, who knows. We've talked about a million times. Well, let's just wait and see. Let's just let it happen and then we'll find out. SAG AFTRA Voice Actors have authorized a strike against video game publishers and producers SAG after the Labor Union for American Actors has voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike against video game companies. The union is seeking better wages, protections, against exploitative uses

of artificial intelligence and basic safety precautions. If a strike does occur, it would likely affect a number of major video game companies. Now, the strike hasn't begun, They have not enacted a strike, but they have approved a strike, so that it does seem like it will come at any point. I guess somewhat good news is that the WGA was able to get their deal, So things are moving in the direction of these unions, but you kind

of have to strike to make that happen. The actors have already been on strike for a couple of weeks, maybe a couple maybe a couple of months

at this point, and that's been against Hollywood studios. Now they're going to get video game publishers in on this, and they want the same things like they said that a mote against artificial intelligence taking over all these jobs or using people's voices without them realizing it. And then protection for these people who are like doing all these screaming into microphones for hours a day, hurting their voices.

They want some protections there as well, kind of basic stuff. At this point, it seems like publishers are going to have to play ball. But the video game publishers. Not great that they don't have along sort of existence with unions. So we'll see how they handle it. They could be fit pretty bad, but we'll see you guys, how you guys feel about like the current like voice acting like voice act is in a good place in video gaming, right and they kind of have maybe vois uh Sony anymore?

So we're good. Sure, Yeah, we got Megan Fox now, Yeah, that's right exactly, that's who we need to protect his Megan Fox. Yeah, I got nothing wrong. There's nothing wrong Megan Fox excommat differ. Yeah, absolutely, Megan Fox is fantastic, just maybe not as a video game character. Uh all right. A ransomware group claims to have breached all of Sony's systems. Ransomware group ransomed dot VC claims to have breached to Sony

Group and it is threatening to sell stolen data. Sony has not confirmed the breach, but has faced similar attacks in the past. The group was did a post date of September twenty eight, which after which if nobody purchases the data, it will presumably post all of the data online wholesale. They're actually a update. Sony did acknowledge that this company, this group is saying this,

and they see that they're investigating the league. They have not confirmed it still, Sony last time that the guy hacked really bad had to shut down PlayStation network, right, what like four or five months? Remember that it was long. It was a long time. Four or five months might be a lot, but it was like two months. It was like a seriously long time it was. That was over like the Korean the North Korean movie, right. I wonder if that was part of that. I think it

was. Was it the seth brogan what's this? Yeah, the interview, the interview, Yeah, it was Yeah, it was definitely, yes said around the holidays. I remember I was working at Jimmy John's and listening to the podcasts people talking about it, and it was like, yeah, you just could not play games online for PlayStation four about two months or something like that. It was really well. Now because of that, they made a lot of changes to their system and how it works and put in protections in

place. Maybe it didn't stop it from being stolen, but maybe they're more common about keeping it up online this time. They're you know, though, if their stuff did get get get stolen and that stuff goes up online, Sony's going to be on the hook in places where where regulators are very serious about that stuff, and now that includes the United States, because Lena Khan has been coming down on these companies pretty hard for these breaches and allowing these

breaches to happen. We'll see what happens here when Sony does confirm it, or for this company does, or this company, this hacker group does put this stuff online. What it means for any one of us, that's still a question. Well, yeah, that's right. It did kill the momentum of one of the SOCOM's right, yes, yeah, Socom was like coming out and then and people are getting excited to play it online, and like around the time it launched, it was just nothing. You couldn't how everyone

knows, so was still a thing. It was like more than ten years ago. Now, I think it has to because I was not in the industry at that point. As killed so Calm. We all know that that's right, exactly, Well, so Calm deserved it. Uh Can's cotour to switch DLC leads to a class action lawsuit against Aspire and Saber Interactive. Aspire and Saber Interactive are facing a class action lawsuit for canceling the Restored Content DLC

for the switch port of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic two. The DLC was originally advertised as coming soon but was never released, and Aspire offered customers who bought the game that on the chance, they offered them a chance to download seven other games for free as an apology for not delivering this thing that they said they would. But the plaintiff is seeking a refund and other

damages. The defendants have until October fourth to respond to the lawsuit. Yeah, this is this is probably straight up at false advertising, and there's kind of no way around this because they did promise this as part of like, hey, buy this game and you're gonna get all this content, content that was cut from the game that you really can't get anywhere else unless you add mods to the PC, but you're gonna get it on your switch. People

bought the game, we're waiting for it. It didn't come through. A part of me is like I never trust these companies and they promises like that, but they also you just can't make promises like this and not deliver on them, right, Yeah, I mean, if that's one of your marketing bullet points and you just don't have it. I'd i'd understand being upset.

I don't know about yamass action. Maybe just a refund, Yeah, I mean class action lawsuits, you know, I'm I'm no lawyer, but my understanding it's like those are almost always initiated by a law firm spotting an opportunity to get a class together because the class, you know, individuals in the class get a couple of bucks, maybe a coupon for Red Bull or some shit. The lawyers get a lot of money. They get a lot of money. So why are we getting into class actions? Then, y'all what's

I don't know? Yeah, what's the thing that's bugged y'all latelier? I don't know, Yeah, yeah, I don't know all of them things. Yes. Uh. Kamia is leaving Platinum. Decky Kamia, the director of Bayonetta and The Wonderful One o One, his left Platinum Games after fifteen years. He thanked he thanked fans for their support and said he will continue making games. Said he's going to do it in the Kami Away. He also said he believes the spirit of creation and his believes in the spirit of creation

and he has committed to aiming for that. It is not clear what will happen to Project Gigi, a superhero project he was working on at Platinum Games when I like, I talked about this on Game this morning, so I'm like, yeah, people leave studios, But Kamya, what kind of was Platinum Games? And if you look at his track record, he has a lot of hits under his belt, So I wonder what this means for Platinum Games. I also wonder, like, what is he going to go do.

Shinjimcami left Tango Game Works. I wonder if there's a chance those two get back together, maybe under a new studio at like maybe Microsoft or but then you know, Shinjimmy left Microsoft, so maybe probably ten Cent or something like that net Ease. A lot of those companies are starting up developers with Japanese talent. I don't know, you guys have a lot of love for Platinum Games, because I really do. But Kami's games were sometimes hit or miss, but he's got a lot of hits. I did do Vanquish.

I think Vanquish was yes. Bank for is fun. Bayonet is amazing. Bayonetta two is a classic. It's a really really good. Definitely the best one. Yeah, yes, what so he worked on old resident Evils. Uh, Shami definitely did directly he has one ones or like I don't really know. According to Wikipedia, he directed Ari two. Okay, there it is. Yes, it's one of the better classic ones. Okay yeah yes uh and definitely beautiful show. Yeah. This is like a early part of

his career. Is definitely like a blank check style run. Yeah it is absolutely Uh. He did the Wonderful one on one, which is a lot of people really liked. He Devil Make Cry, Yeah, Devil May Cry Okay, what geez? Okay, beautiful Phoenix right as well. He was the voice of godat never Mind Sorry Evil within No, No, that's Shini Bakami Okay, okay, gotchah so yes, but but Kamia is also the guy that blocks everybody on Twitter, and that was like part of the Wonderful

one to one a crowdfunding campaigns. So you can go to a certain level, he'll block you on Twitter or something like that, or he will unblock you. I think I got a higher tier or something like that. Awesome. So he's always had that sort of a cerbic a personality about him. But I think he's he's kind of earned like a little bit of that blank check and can maybe take that forward and start up a new studio of his

own. Again, we'll see what happens, but he did he helped found Platinum Games, So him moving on is going to be a big change or Platinum and what they what they put out going forward. Sometimes I wonder when some big directors leave a studio and find found their own studio, sometimes a little bit there's no one there to rain them in, so kind of a little bit angry. I agree. Uh, Like I wonder like Negoshi, who who left Osega and Ryogakou, the studio that does the Yakuza games.

It's like it's gonna go He's working for a big Chinese company now and has his own studio, Negoshi Studios. You know, is he gonna be able to do what he wants while also serving the new masters? I don't know. I think it's gonna be interesting. And if it doesn't have that oversight of people who have made games with him the way he likes to make games,

Yeah, who knows what that's gonna end up looking like. I kind of hope that these big directors are able to find their footing in this like new world where it's like for so long they were just like, no, you work at these Japanese companies and for most of most of you, you're going to work at the same one for your entire life. Maybe you're gonna work at one or two. If you start your own studio, you're going to do that for the rest of your life. Now they're like, no,

there's more opportunities out there. So I wonder how they're able to navigate that. Resident Evil four is going to cost sixty dollars on the iPhone fifteen Pro. The yeshone iPhone fifteen Pro version of Resume Before Remake will cost sixty dollars and it's available for pre order. Now, this is the full game, and it's really good. Does it look like it looks on consoles and

PC? Pretty much? Yes? I mean that that listen to phone the iPhone fifteen pro uh max and the pro they the processor in there is basically what's in a MacBook these days are very close, uh and they basically are treating it like a console. This is one of the things where it's like, hey, cloud gaming might not be a thing because you're gonna be able to run these games on your phone, your TV. There's yeah, there's definitely controller and especially with the USBC now, But people who who play games

on phones have been used to the price tag of fucking nothing. Well unless it's a Final Fantasy game though, because those even like yeah, Square tries to charge those, but those things those no one buys those, like it's a Final Fantasy. Fans buy those, but no, no one knew comes to Final Fantasy on phone. But like, well, I'm gonna spend fifteen

dollars on this thing. I don't know. This is I get why they feel they need to do this, because they would be like weird if like you can get this game for fifteen dollars on iPhone and it's the same exact thing. But I just this is the real hurdle here, getting the games running on phone whatever, Getting people to buy games at sixty dollars on phone, I guess civilization has done that before, but I just don't know. I mean, over time, people that exclusively play mobile games have definitely spent

more than sixty dollars. Oh yes, one million percent. Yes, But they like to try a bunch of stuff and do free to play first, and then then they get hooked, and then they do the gotcha mechanics and spend a bunch of money. RESU four probably not going to have gotcha mechanics, and if it does, that wouldn't don't want that either. Yes, uh, but you know, sixty dollars might not be enough because Capcom's president

thinks games should cost more. Capcom's president, Haruhiro Sujimoto, believes that video games should cost more to buy. He sided the in Chris, increasing cost of game development and the need to raise wages for talented employees as the reason for this. In defensive Capcom, they are one of the publishers who have kept the sixty dollars price tag while most of the other ones have gone to

seventy dollars. That will likely change very soon. I knew, I knew the Capcom He'll turn was coming, y'all, Yes, here it is. It's inevitable. They're hey, when you got this kind of hit street going, it's hard not to turn into the bad guy. Capcom doing very well in terms of the games that they're putting out. I don't know, yeah, I kind of feel like, yeah, they maybe have earned it a little bit but yeah, I don't like. Wait, urse seventy dollars?

Okay? For everyone else? Is how come all right? Circling kind of back to cyberpunk. Everyone here knows that I'm a big fan of Mega Man Battle Network. How Come no one told me that you could in cyberpunk you just jack into people, jack into walls. You just pull a little ethernet cord out of your wrist and just just plug into someone. How Come no one ever told me that it was basically a Battle Network game. How do you guys feel about the seventy dollars price tags this generation? Because I got

over it real quick, but I don't know. I hate that I got over it real quick. Yeah, I'll tell you what, Like, I don't think you know, look, let's be honest, Like it doesn't affect us in the same way as it affects other people. And I think that. I've absolutely like people are almost like mad at me for it, Like I like that They're like, well, what am I spending seventy dollars? And I'm like, oh, yeah, that's what they're charging, Like I didn't do that. Uh. People, people are upset, and uh,

I think it. I think for whatever reason, the sixty two seventy dollars bump was a was a bit of a threshold that triggered people. And and again regardless of like obviously you know, different socio economic backgrounds and whatnot, but like I think across the board, I've heard it from every walk of life, like for whatever reason, this is, oh, I know, for what I know what reason this has been a thing more than last time? For sure? Yes, was when did they go from fifty to sixty

sixty four? Sixty four started having sixty dollars games and more like eighty dollar games. But that was all like the cartridge cost when it was like a blanket, every game is going to be sixty dollars, it was. Yes, Now let me follow that up with what I also tell them after, you know, we like make fun of each other for a little bit. I say, I go, well, you shouldn't be buying games right away

anyway, you know at this point. And that's my sort of I'm like, you know, especially people, uh, you know, in our situation right now, where like this is not the absolute most important thing going on in their life right now, Like if you can wait four to six weeks, like you're probably gonna get a twenty percent discount, you know. Uh. I Also, I wonder if a lot of people do this. I wonder if I didn't do what I did for a living, if I would

buy physical so I could trade it in. You know, my sister does that. You know, It's like, yeah, a lot of people do that, and that's a very smart thing to do if if you're cost conscious. Yes, yeah, you have spending seventy dollars and then you beat the game or don't like a game, and then you're just like fucked. It's like, man, at least let me trade it in and get thirty bucks

for it or something. Yep, yeah, absolutely. I think the last seventy dollars game I bought was the Legend of Elder Tears of the Kingdom, and I think I got it with that cupon that that two things where you spend one hundred dollars, Yeah, and you get two But like, qu wants to turn in for games, So I bet I kind of technically spent

fifty dollars on that game. But it's probably an easier pill to swallow for folks that also have like a gaming PC, right, it means to play games on Steam whatever, just because Steam games go on sales so often, yep, versus like console only folks. The solution here is is he's right, look for those sales, wait, be a bargain hunter that A lot of people really enjoy that, and and gaming has a lot of opportunities to

do that, even on the consoles these days. For digital games, they have regular sales that are really really effective, and we could save a lot of money. So yeah, yeah, alright. Red Dead Redemption two has been listed for the Switch. Wait what? A Nintendo Switch version of Red Dead Redemption two has been listed on the Brazilian Ratings Board website. However,

it is not queer when the listing was added. The game was originally classified by the board in twenty eighteen, ahead of its release on other platforms. Red Dead Redemption two is a popular game, sold over fifty five million copies. A potential Switch version could likely be a cloud version, but the Brazilian Ratings Board doesn't normally rate cloud versions of games. So there's it's it's weird. It's one of those ones where like, wait, is that really going

to come to Switch? Would that even be possible? My gut tells me no, And if it is. It's probably not gonna be a very good version of that game, or maybe that's the right one. That's the one I'm going to play and actually enjoy. They have to make it more arcady, you know, you know what, they might make it a good game

then yeah, exactly twenty minutes to pick up a can of beans. Beans, put it in my pocket, just drawer here, man, I would really like looking through short It's real like that's it'd be great if they made a good Red Dead Redemption two. I would like, Yeah, that would be interesting that it seems difficult for them. But yeah, that's not what they were going for with that one. So I just got much to berculosis something. It's fucked up. How wrong you can be about one game.

And it's a very bad game about it's a bad game. It's what was good about the first It's great if you think Starfield's interesting and Red Dead is boring. I just I think started no, no, no, no, I also think Starfield is pretty boring. Oh all right, last time we say I enjoyed it when I first started, and I got very bored at the very quick and I started playing Cyberpunk, and I'm like, oh, man, start Field feels really fucking dated. Uh, Startfield is better than

red Ded Redemption two, but it's not great. Yeah how did how did the three of us wind up together? And like the three biggest that provides us more than anything else. I think, you know, I think you're right. I think you're right. It's not the on the good job, Jan, are you anti Red Dead twos? We fucking hate redd okay? Yea, So we had three smart gamers on this podcast and have good taste, and yeah, I can live with that. I could live with that.

Lucy also really loves Red Dead Redemption two, so I always felt so every everyone has their anomalies soas consistent. You know, I can totally live with that. In fact, I thought about playing it the other day, but then I kind of live in my life. But yeah, it's fine. Look I get it as someone who is right a lot. Yeah, you know, it doesn't talking about us? Yeah us someone Dan, How upset would you be if that was your next Blike club game does not fall

within the rules. It is unless you can beat it in like eight to ten hours, which nope, it takes that long to fucking right across the map for the eight hundred time with Dutch while he tells you boring ship like, yea, it is interesting you did get in the beginning, and I also I'm sorry, wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait what what I think you did like it in the beginning? Wait? Please produce? Please produce this? Didn't you any one of them? Impression video?

Right? Like first impression? I think you were just stranding. Didn't we go to rock Start together? And we didn't go together? I I did go to rock Star. I think you went separately. There was some really interesting stuff in the slice that they showed. It was very interesting, the amount of like like they were doing a lot of NPC interaction stuff, and

I was impressed by that that stuff I was. I was. That's part of this reason I was so disappointed because you built up the NPC stuff like, hey, if you point a gun at him, they're gonna react one way and they put the gun away, then you're gonna be able to deal with this. Yeah, it's like that stuff like works as they described it, and there's nothing there's nothing else about it. It's just what they described and you can't do anything else with that. A lot of people uh saying

that you turned around on it, which is fine your opinion. You know, right from the start, my memory isn't great. If somebody can produce a video where I say, I really like this a lot. So actually we gave impressions on the Beast cast where I don't. I don't know, but I'm sure it's from that rock Star visit. Then I bet I was positive. If it's about the rock Star visit. I remember from the time I started playing the game, I was like, this fucking blows. Like

I really hated that game from the beginning. In my memory, I definitely hated about the end. We're a lot. Everyone's allowed to like different things. I think for the sense of comedy, it's very enjoyable in this content. The most stranding I flipped lopped on stranding. Yeah, I know, I love cowboys. I fucking love cowboys, don't I think cowboys are stupid? People who wear cowboy hats around in twenty twenty three confuse me. But

this game made me think cowboys were all right. So well, you should watch Hangman Adam Page that may Yeah, there you go, that's a cowboy. Yeah weird. I don't know. It's fine. They'll make a third one in twenty thirty two, and you just won't play it, and they just won't play good as long as they don't take the Red Dead approach. So yeah, the most fun I had with Red Dead Redemption two was playing

online for a little bit with Vinnian Abbey. But then Vinnie immediately shot me in the head, So hell, yeah, I did not have fun. Sound like a good time, Let's see here the last couple of stories. Xbox players can expect Japanese Triple A exclusives in the future, Phil Spencer says. Xbox Boss Phil Spencer has said that Xbox players can expect to see Triple

X exclusives from Japanese developers in the future. He has also said that the Microsoft that Microsoft has over two hundred fifty developers in Japan developing games for the Xbox right now, and that they are committed to better catering to Japanese players. This Council Generation, uh, they basically was at hey, like, are you gonna do anything like Blue Dragon or Lost Odyssey games that were stand

out Xbox three sixty exclusives from Japan in Japanese developers. He's like, Yeah, that's exactly what you should expect so, and he pointed to obviously they will have Tango game works in Hi Fi Rush, but it sounds like they're going to do even more with that, and this is kind of right the right place for Microsoft to be with this this thing. I know, he says, get catering the Japanese developer gamers, Good luck with that, keep

trying that. I get that, like Japanese consumers do eventually come around on these things if you're there for like thirty years, and they had the pretty bad thing with the Xbox One where they just disappeared on them, so they basically reset the clock on that, So good luck. But Japanese games have an appeal globally, so if you want to like have a presence there so you can get those games out on game Pass everywhere, that's pretty cool and

I hope they're able to pull that off. That's what I was going to ask you, Greb, like, do you think Microsoft's gonna make like a big push to get game Pass on phones and like mobile devices. Yeah, I mean so like game Pass works on mobile devices now, but it's like, is that something that the Japanese player knows about, because like you would

think, like, oh, yeah, that's the right audience. But it's like, is that audience asking for traditional games on their phone or are they completely happy with the gotcha games, the free to play games that are available on the app stores. And the answer is they are very much happy with those games. They don't they don't see such such a difference. I think, as I think our side of the globe does, where it's like those are completely different things. It's like, no, then that's all just video

games, and they're playing gotcha games and they're completely fine with that. So I think game Pass even trying to make that appeal is not it's going to have an uphill battle. It just will give me a Halo gotcha game. Yeah, I mean, listen, that's just that's money in the bank right there. The checks. They are making another Lord of the Rings game, despite Gullum a Lord. A new Lord of the Rings game called Tales of the Shire is being developed by wet Weta Workshop. I can't remember how to

say. I think it's Wetta and we'll be published by Private Division in twenty twenty four. The game is set in the Shire and will be a heartwarming

experience. Embracer Group acquire the entertainment rights for the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit ips in August twenty twenty two, and plans to increase the It's focused on internal I like Lord of the Rings, Amazon Games is also developing a Lord of the Rings m m O. I don't think that this actually involves Embracer group at this time, though, it's NOTNDS like something was already in the plans before that deal went through. I don't know, Dan,

I know you're a huge Lord of the Rings guy. So how excited are you about this? Ain't good enough? Very very very excited. You just love those little freaks, right, you just like love's solid. It's the issue for you, right, You don't think that a little guy can do big things? Right? Well, how am I supposed to root for these idiots? Yeah? That's my problem? Like these guys sucked, Like why do I care that they don't don't do anything? Coolly difficult? Yes?

What about astro astrobots a little dude? Good point, But he's a fun, little whimsical thing. It's not trying to be this big, super epic thing. Like give me something cool, dude, don't give me some Elijah would idiot's probably a nice guy. I don't know, but like sucks. He's just a little idiot. He's not a rocky. Give me I need a rock. Stop the rocky. I don't think he is the model of like a guy you can root for, the opposite of that. Yeah, he is the dude, you know, I just don't like. I'm with

you, like I am deeply uninterested in Lord of the Rings. Uh. But I don't like it because I just think it's not cool. Where you don't like it because you're like, I don't want to root for these little free there's no one to root for in there's movies. It's they're all so long, so boring. For Gandalf, Rooting for gandof's cool. He's just every wizard I've ever seen in any video gamer, movie or cartoon wizard wizard one. Okay, well, then here wizards are boring. How about that?

All right, that's fair. That's in general pretty boring. It turns out, so no, Lord Ras is like especially boring for fantasy stuff. Fantasy in general, I think is not boring. It is boring. Zelda's cool, but I think Zelda is like, Zelda's a fun video game, you know, cool despite the fantasy. I think it's a little boy in a lot of the games. But he has a word in fights, so I think in your mind that he has backflips in like you know, six

a sword and Gannon's head. Froto could do backflips, things would be a little different. He still looks like an idiot link It's like cool armor and shield. You're just making fun of things that, you know. Froto can't help what he looks like. You know. I'm just saying if I see a movie, I want to see Colonel John Matrix, I want to see Rocky, I want to see Apollo Creed. I want to see cool dudes doing cool stuff. You just want to see cookie cutter, fucking strong guys.

Which Rocky is a cookie cutter character. Rocky Muscly Rambo, dude, No, I'm not. I'm not a big Rambo mark. I think Rambo's fun. That the last couple of Rambos are insane, and that's the surdest art exactly. That's beautiful commando level violence and stuff. Rambo, the first one's an interesting movie. John Matrix, Apollo, which is Matrix again, John Matrix in Commando the Rocket, Connery and Yeah, Well, it's funny because those those movies also age in a way where like they're better now than

they were. Arguably they've always been amazing. You're sorry, it does get better, But first Blood is perfect. First Blood is a piece like like like Rocky Rambo or First Blood. The first one is just a great film, and then by the end it's just like whoa, we're going fucking nuts here right away. But it's a different product at that point. I don't think I necessarily disagree with the take that like all fantasies kind of like not

the best. But I think there's there's gems here and there. It all seems the same, like I don't know, but like you're very like vanilla action taste is just not I mean, I like Game of Thrones to it an extent. You know, I read the first book. Here's like, I tried to read both Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings. I couldn't make it through the first Lord of the Rings book. I did get through the first Game of Thrones book, and I enjoyed it. You know.

The show definitely had its problems, and I definitely was like less into it, you know as it went on. But you know, I can get into fantasy if I feel like it's doing something different where there are interesting characters. And just to be clear, when we say fantasy, we're just talking about like swords and swords and wizard shit, you know, goblins, whatever, the all that stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't care about that. I like to be a normal guy in a fantasy world.

Like that's what I said. Hi, didn't Danny McBride make a movie like that guy from like the Bronx that's been teleported. I'm gonna be like, Oh, I'm just a shoe shiner in the oblivion or whatever. So I kind of role play that way, and then I'm actually secretly also a really good thief and I break into everyone's houses. And that's what I like to do. I like movies and games where you're like a dude with guns that goes back to fantasy times and you just kick everyone's ass, Like time

Cop has some of those dudes. That's cool, it's great. Yes, yeah, yeah, you're like Bill and Ted's Adventure if they had oozies. Yeah, yeah, or the Martin Lawrence two thousand and one movie Black Night of course. Oh god was that? Yes, that's the most famous East guy. That's where the term comes from. Army of Darkness. Darkness goes

back there with that boomstick and like that. That's that's great because he does he calls some primitive screwhead's stuff and just like acts like their fucking cavemen and it's like, yeah, it's just a bunch of skeletons and stuff and you're

just driving a car through them. Like that's ejectively good. Nin Ninja Turtles, the three went back to like yeah, but three, yeah, and the future it is always it's a fun thing when you take people from the past to the current day in movies because it's always done just walking around, you know, watching TV and like hockey and like are they in the box? You know, that's always Joan of arc Aerobics Lesson, Yeah, exactly.

Yes, that's the point. Good point, that's good stuff. Grub as the legal expert, here, where are the rights with Lord of the Rings right now? For me to write a book within the Lord of the Rings universe of a little hobbit training to be a boxer, so you would have to like so Embracer has all of the rights for the Lord of the Rings except for the rights to publish the actual books themselves, that's still with the family, but but the IP rights overall are with Embracers to you.

So you have to go to Lars Wingo Firs, the CEO of Embracer Group, and ask him Paristion to write a new book that would be under his purview. All right, so spoilers make that happen. He's gall Im still alive at the end of the third movie Volcano or something super duper in lava. Yeah, yeah, he's the ring like goes right, it goes around his finger and he melts in lava. And he was trying to grow the terminator thrown in the volcano or was he trying to trying to volcano Froo through

in the volcano and he's trying to say, this is the movie. I can't remember the book. It was a long time since I read it correct. Yeah, okay, all right, because I was thinking he could be like a Mickey type of coach characters. Oh, we should throw Mickey in Mountain Doom as well. Yeah, that's like Roo looked like Rocky Okay, ye sure, okay, yeah, yeah, No one's rooting for that guy.

No, Yeah, who do you have some people. Some people root for he Also he beat glass Joe, so like I'd root for glass Joe over Galim. Yes, uh that does for the newsboys, this shows back over here. Maybe it just really like boxing. No, actual boxing is boring, is no, no, no, the dramatized version of boxhoh, punch out Rocky one or Tyson's fastenating. But like Tyson is not like actual boxing. Tyson was a weird noma in history. Movies are great and you're

watching baseball is terrible. You're right, you're right. I think it's fine, but it's not gonna fine baseball playoff Baseball is fine. Yeah, I'm not gonna try to convince you Yetah, when it's October, baseball is exciting, you know, Yeah, exactly, yes, exactly, Game four eighty three, it's really a hoot. It's kind of messed up that you can

win that many games, the fuck up at the end. One game one literally, one game playoff, that's all you get after one hundred and sixty two games, right, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's like it's half so dumb. It's so dumb, and I love all these baseball weirdos defending it. You're wrong, my Dad would play one hundred and sixty two game seasons of Ken Griffey Jr. For s Ands and had binders filled with he kept stats like you know, e Ar's and like what their batting average was

and stuff like that. And so he went through because they didn't have the Players Association license in that game. But they have likenesses, so like David Justice, Ron Gantt. They look like those guys and they have their stats, but they're called like creamed corn or whatever, like fake names. And

so he went through. He renamed everyone in the MLB based on their likeness and stats, played one hundreds I think several one hundred and sixty two game seasons and kept fucking stats for the entire league that I yeah, like, what are we doing he'd be very good at fantasy football. Yeah, yeah, he's done all the work, all right, Yeah, rub is there more news? No, I'm handing the ship back over to you. Here it is, and I'm gonna we're gonna dust it off. So it's a

lot of dust here. Somehow we got into red dead redemption to need to go wash it off. It's gonna take at least forty minutes, folks. We'll be back shout outs. Yeah, we're just gonna give it a good old tub bath. It's gonna be ten times longer than it needs to be. Oh, I'm choping up my arm Beard Tarberculos, turn this knob very slowly. Little Left BombCast a giant bomb. Dot com is the email address

to send your emails into the show dot com. Uh, if you have any tips to train for dodgeball, I will I will gladly take any and all of them. I don't know how you get good at dodgeball? Do you do? I just have people throw things at me. You Here, here's my theory about a way to get pretty much a decent level at any sport, and it's called play the video game Dance Dance Revolution. Because so much of sports is footwork that if you can get decent Dance Dance Revolution,

you're gonna be able to move really well and about any game. If I was like in the NFL, I would have every quarterback playing Dance Dance Revolution every day. I'm gon get more prove them. For Jan's purposes. I want to get more specific with hook up a connect. They're very cheap to find. Just look on like Facebook, Marketplace and there's a game called Hole in the Wall that is all about stuff is flying at you and you got like dodge in particular ways. So I think for specific dodging purposes, I

would say that. But but Grub is also right if you can do it simultaneously, like if you had a DDR running on one screen and then you had Hole in the Wall on the other. That sounds like a fun stream. We should we should find a connect for Game of the Year. We should back on what's there we can get for a Game of the Year. Could we just make a physical hole in the wall, like like a wipe out game? How hard I had boxing loves on springs. We can do

that. Yeah you know what, I bet you. Emma already has all of those things. Yeah, she's got storage. Yeah yeah. Uh. Bomb care the Giant bomb dot com is an email addressed to send emails too right into the show about virtually any and everything and maybe we'll read it on the show. First email comes from Ronnie. So is glass Joe from punch Out a pun on glass Jaw. I'm an idiot and just got my phoenix

down moment love the show, Ronnie. I never considered that. I always thought it was like, hey, is glass, Like he's like a skeleton of his glass, Like he's a weak man, Like that's a break like glass, Like yeah, I think glass. I'm saying it's like glass jaw like that. Sure that that? Yeah? Yeah, maybe so he's more like glass like Samuel L. Jackson in the movie Glass and Unbreakable. Right, I saw that, But I've heard good things like Split is good.

Split. Yeah, heard heard that. It's a lot of fun, even if you know the the twist at the end, because it's like, oh my god, I can't believe this is that. Yeah, I know the twist on both those. Yeah, back Glass, you had sound like you had a moment of realization. No, I have a moment of realization of like I always meant to watch that one got real mad at him as a person for many years, which one Shamalan being oh yeah, oh yeah, angry with him. The Village. Yeah, but I just think you do

better. Is that what it was? You're like, yeah, like, yeah, I've got this joke about him, or like I just like I just think like movies like The Village was him like getting back at like enemies he made in high school or something like I just think like you just like I like it, yeah, really like yeah, because it's like I read it as like a a fable about like society using fear to keep people in line. It's like sure, sure, I mean yeah, maybe that's aging

a little better than anticipated. I still didn't get happening. I didn't need it to be anything more than that. I never said I think when I read about the happening, and that sounds like way worse the happening is is fucked up? I think, uh, And then Signs. I I know people like signs thing about that movie that's your Birthday found footage stuff and like that's it. Everything is so charismatic. Yeah, Joe Phoenix is really good in that too. His gasp at what he sees in the birthday party footage

is very well executed. Others than that, that movie can go straight there. Signs in the theater like I'm not gonna defend, Like the ending gets kind of lame, but like that movie theater experience that when it came out full theater, everyone just superhots every single like there's a lot of tension. The Birthday seen as a classic until the ending. It was like one of my favorite movie theater experiences. Yeah, I like old yes, all right.

Next email comes from Corey. Do you remember when Alvin and the Chipmunks helped knock down the Berlin Wall? Thank you Corey from Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. There's something about this. I don't remember exactly what the details are. I was I was too young to pay attention to that going on. We were all too young, isn't it. I mean I remember seeing on the news and like being a big deal and my parents having it on. You don't remember like the context of it, like yeah, yeah,

I mean I still don't. You just remember like a graffitied wall. Yeah there, it's like old powers, like we're coming down. I mean I knew that much, but like, yeah, the details of course not or

was it a Cold War thing or was it? It was like the wall went up after like World War two, right, so like went up to keep East Germany and West Germany separate, and East Germany was Russia's and West Germany was it's it's Germany, but it's you know, the Allied Powers, and so it's like we're gonna split up this country so that it's like this neutral thing where it's like Russia or America don't get too much power, and

this thing can be this thing in the middle. But it was a result of World War two being like, hey, you don't get to be a country no more, and then we're gonna make you these other things. Okay, yeah, yeah. And then then then there was a wall between the country, and like East Germany was very locked down and everyone was spying on each other, and West Germany was this, you know, free enterprise country

where people could do whatever they want. A lot of people try to get from East Germany to West Germany. And then as the economy broke down in the Soviet Union that that hurt the East Germany and then they have the wall king down. So how do I don't remember how Alvin comes into play? Okay, I was gonna ask, Yeah, I bet, I wonder is anyone No one in any chat seems to know either. I thought this was one of those things where Alvin and the Chipmunks helped retail history or something like

they went the gorbey. Okay, I watched Alvin and the Chipmunks tear down the Berlin Wall with the power of Rock twenty five anniversary At the beginning of the fall of the Berlin Wall was Sunday. But did you know, Alvin the Chipmunks actually predicted the fall of the Wall one year prior. You can watch the video where the chipmunks destroy the wall through the power of rocking out above and doing so they help a little girl reunite with the rest of her

family. Blah blah blah. So there's also rumors that the CIA wrote like the Winds of Change, this like rock ballad from a Scorpion. Yes, the let CIA wrote the Winds of Change for Scorpion as like an effort to bring down communism and and bring down the browin Wall. What. Yeah, there's a whole podcast series about it. They were never able to fully prove it since one of those like fun conspiracy theories, it's almost certainly not true. Yeah, that's what they all used to be everyone. They used to

just be fun. They used to be fun. Yeah, the jesse Ventura level of conspiracy. Yes, the moon was cheese back then, it was great. Yes, the good ones, which I'll say it now on here. Jesse Ventura doesn't live too far from me. If anyone knows how to get ahold of jesse Ventura let's bring him on the dump truck. Yes, I want to come to my house by yourself. Dude. He was he

was trying to get the union going and Hook fucking screwed up. Yeah, Hook fuck o. Jesse's a big reason why weird's legal here in out. Like, yes, let's bring vent Hero on the dump truck. Okay, all right, I can get down with us, maybe, yes, but in a good way. I can't get on the door with that. Like, we have to make space for the good weirdos. So we take it over by the terror I'm looking at one. Okay, we have which one of us, three of us game, we're gonna bring in her on.

We're all gonna do edibles, and we're gonna do the dump truck. Let's do it that. Uh uh. Maybe we should weaponize the chipmunks again, you know, maybe that's what's missing from society. It's about time we stuffed them into missiles and sent them across the ocean. No, I'm telling you all because I learned here. I learned a lot about like pop culture because

of the Chipmunks. Like I didn't know who Elton John was, but then I watched the Elton John Special, the chipmunks did, so let's weaponize chipmunks, do it. I've always despised the chipmunks their voices. Is it because you could never rock a hula hoop? No, it's not that, I just there. It's their voices. Man, It's just like crawls in my ear in a weird way, and I'm just like, I can't I get that. Like pain in the year, they sure, they just suck.

They just suck. Sorry. I like Chip and Dale. I know they're not like the same thing. All right, Well, those those those chipmunks are cool. We can't agree they're cool. Chipmunks are not cool. Chip and Dale cool. Next email comes from Kevin from Queens. Hello, Bomb crew, What is the most forgotten TV show? I'm looking specifically for the ratio between how big it was at its prime and how erased it is from pop culture. I thought about this question when Ally McBeal popped into my head.

My wife. My wife also submits Will and Grace. Thanks, Ken, Hiller and Diller. What what's that? Kevin Nalen and Richard Lewis they like lived together, and I think Richard Lewis was like a neurotic priest. It was not popular, there's everyone was talking about Hiller and Diller. I refused to believe that was popular. The Will and Grace things wrong because that show was famously huge, and also people still talk about doctor Ryan says Herman's

Head. I remember Herman's Head, right, yep. When I read this email, originally I yelled Becker at my computer. But I don't think Becker occupied the mind space outside of just me. But mantis, do you remember that show about the guy that had like a cyborg suit? No? I apparently I just watch Roundhouse. Sure, I like that. Maybe you can't do that on television. People remember you can't do that on television? Sure?

Yeah, yeah, I mean this is almost everybody loves Raymond. No that was you know, I know it's big, but like no one talks about it prime and forgotten now. I think people gotten now though I don't think that rerun show like okay, okay, yeah, Big Indication run Okay. Well, I wish really Expo, Spin City, Spin City that it was. I don't think this is an answerable question really, right, because like everything like Northern Exposure is the right answer. That was on. Bred

Hart was on that, right. I think bred Hart was on northern sounds. Right, yeah, was huge at the time, and I never hear anyone about I take it back, that is right. Other Uh well, I would have said this maybe a week ago, but now Kevin James is boosted in the meme economy, I would have said King of Queens. Yeah, what's something like Queen's Knockoffs? At the time, Uh, what's the there was one? What's the one? That was the how I let your

mother knock off the head David Spade and uh not just shoot me? Right? No? No, no, it was after after just shoot me because David Spade played the Neil Patrick Harris equivalent. Oh, it was with Patrick Warburton. Yes, the Rules of Engagement. Yes, yes, that's that was like it had several seasons. Was very head zero cultural footprint. Ye, Grace under Fire? What is that with Grace? Yeah, but it was God. I think Norm wrote on it for a little bit. No,

he wrote on Roseanne. Uh no, it's Grace Butler. I think it was her name. Grace under Fire was big Grace Butler. Yes, yes, yeah, right, yeah, someone put all of us into a sitcom, we'd be fantastic. Carol my god, oh yeah, yeah. The thing is we're all the side characters. Is the Caroline Caroline in the City, Yes, is a good one? What was the one that Brooke Shields was on? It was a primetime comedy brook Oh God, like ninety six ninety seven? What the this can drive me nuts? It was big.

It was on the cover like Entertainment Weekly and stuff. Jesus, I don't remember. What about like a spin off of like an existing one show like Saved by the Bell, the College here suddenly Susan Suddenly Susankay. Yes is a good one. Yeah, that's the one that used to be really big and none of us remembered it existed. What a What a weird little slot we've found ourselves in here. We should rate all the sitcoms, whether or not we've seen the Oh yeah, that doesn't matter. Man about You

is also a good one. I think what sitcoms and what TV shows pop up when you guys are waiting. And I know some of you who don't use TikTok, but for TikTok, it's like all of the USA shows are still very big. So Suits I get. I've like basically watched all of Suits, even though I've never watched an episode of Suits because every single scene is on TikTok and it just places for me shouts out to my psychos. Yeah there you go, Yes, psych as well. I get some of

that. I don't know some of these shows just live on that way. My my, my old roommate from college went to work on psych Happy Endings and was the executive producer of the Big Show Show. So I think he is like a veteran of working on those shows. That's awesome. God remember Burn Notice? Yeah, I'm ever see ads for Burn? Notice I do. There's a lot of stuff on Suits or on a USA. I feel like there's so many silk stockings or B and E and all these shows that

would get average duck man. You know so much duck man. A lot is Veronica's closet. I think that was Kirsty alle Okay, Yeah, Like what's weird to me is like Stars is still a thing and still has like TV shows. Yeah, yeah, they canceled TV shows the same. Like PowerBook for Colon Force is a show on Stars. Right now? Could you say that what is PowerBook for? I would star power for whatever? You

just said, it's Power season? Is it? Like? Is it IV or is it like the four Yes Ivy, it's like the yeah you guys ever seen like commercials for this or like that show Animal Kingdom? Uh, kind of a white trash crime show. No, no, yeah, all these things are still happening. It's so weird that a lot of anyone who watches this stuff yeah yeah yeah. That is the one thing where like I'll

hear people I'll be like, oh, what are you watching? Someone will say like the thing I've literally never heard of, and I'm just like where's that? Like, no, no, it's on Netflix, Like are like obsessed with the show I've maybe like a Blacklist It's the best show of all time. It's like what I feel like, I hear shows spoken that I literally never even heard of. Noting about do you remember Jay Moore the action? It was on Fox. They would advertise it on The Simpsons all the

time. He was like a Hollywood executive or something. Nasty McNasty man. Someone in the chat here put remember Emerald Lagassi's sitcom what Yes? What No? That was called Emerald Oh what? McDonald sitcoms? The Stan Hooper a menute was Stan Hooper and Norm we need to make one episode of a sitcom. Remember mulaney had had a show briefly. Tracy Morgan had one for a little bit. I feel like just about anyone that was ever on S and L did. All right, I'm convinced we're gonna. I'm gonna, Bailey,

do you have to write us a sitcom? Please? Thank you? All right, thank you. I get to be the neighbor. We're all the neighbor. Okay, no one lives in the house. We just keep breaking in. We each have our own individual chimes squatters. Yeah, yeah, it's all of us leaning on someone, but there's no one there. Milk crates. Yeah, uh, all right. Last email of the show.

Last email the show comes from Colin. Colin writes in subject title red sleeping with y'all, Hey bombers the back of back Lars, objectively wrong opinion on naps. I thought he should know that. I'll often take a twenty minute nap schnooze with a GB podcast going softly because it helps me zonk out but not fall too deep asleep. So best believe you're so you best start believing in naps, Jeff, You're in one, sweet dreams Colin. That's cool, though? Is it cool to be trapped? In someone's nap.

That's terrifying. I'm fine. Yeah, I'm gonna mind haunting a good haunting. Even if someone doesn't like me, I'm occupying their mindspace still, So that's cool. Literally literally, I mean like, yeah, I think that's a super common thing, right, soothing soothing voices. Hey, a play is a play, a download is a download on the show? You know again? And can you do your super soothing voice for everybody right now? Yeah? Up? Are you taking an app right now? Colin? Wake

up? Calling, wake up God. I'm glad you knew the assignment. Okay, see see that's a segment on the pot on the sidcom. There we go. Be a shame if you pissed yourself, Colin, right now, don't go peb Colin, Colin, you dream, don't piano life. You're good. Isn't it sad that that's the only dream that ever comes true your pants? Yeah no, I don't think I've ever had that. I had a dream where I had a sandwich and later that day I bought a sandwich. So okay, that's dream coming true. There you go. All

right, let's get to the shout out. Its limiting it to It's However, many y'all decided there's three really long ones, and I hate whoever did them. Shouts out to the people of Hawaii, Hawaii, Joe and Crew, Goum and the Psychos. Now Dan. At this point at the podcast, who do you think knows Bruce Wayne is Batman? Let's give a quick

shout out to Christine. I know what's happening. Okay, Okay, Yes, I watched Batman Forever and Batman and Robin both last weekend, and in both movies at all times I was very confused at like who knew that Bruce Wayne was shooting Batman? And like, oh, I guess, so I guess throughout Batman FI like Alfred usually knows. Right, yes, of course, Robin figures it out, and then like bad guys like a Riddler and

two Faced both figure it out at the end of that movie. So it's like, I feel like the jig is up at a certain point here, right, Like I feel like enough people know who Batman is that he can't actually like Kae people, Well, it's it's because that Dan. That movie doesn't matter. Uh, that movie garbage. It's a lot of dishwarers based on that movie. I'm sorry, point exactly. I've ever heard dan my poorn exactly. Yes, signed guy. Batman Forever is definitively and empirically not

important. Also, I will say this, and I tweeted this, but Batman and Robin, you watch them both now. I know this sounds nuts because of the way it was considered back then, Batman and Robin is way more fun to watch than Batman Forever. I still like Batman Forever. I got a lot of nostalgia there. Jim Carrey's really going for it. Tommy

Lee Jones also he's doing something. Batman and Robin is fucking hilarious. And to watch it now, realizing it is like more of an homage to the sixty six Batman than it is trying to be like, you know, weird dark Tim Burton stuff and certainly not Nolan stuff, it is so much fun. Schwarzenegger's great, uma Thurman's amazing in it. Like I remember it, I remember laughing at how goofy mister freezes and stuff. It's funnier now.

It is a genuinely fun watch now. I get I get mad when I'm watching like a DC movie and they're like, hey, this bad guy it's called the Riddler. His real name is ed Nigma, like Nima. Oh my god, you guys fucking stop with that. Yea. So he was also like nineteen thirty I know, yeah, like thirties people, so goddamn stupid. You know. They were playing with like, you know, sticking a ball or something like that. Yeah, they got grounded for two weeks,

couldn't play video. They're like, they have the depression. The only thing that get They were constantly thinking of the Roman Empire. Yeah, is it our turned now? All right, let's give a quick shout out to Christina Applegate. Bears versus Broncos is a football equivalent of Lord of the Rings Gallum versus Red Dead Redemption two of gaming hype for the Toilet Bowl. Jan have an amazing time at Halloween Disneyland. Let Bailey bully people, Scopa parentheses.

You go, girl, shout shouts out to the person on this episode

of The Bomb Cast who once performed auto filatio in front. All right, Vaccines, saved lives, get your boosters this fall, vax and flu Janny look Stellar two movie recommendations for Dan where Soldiers go back in time, Timeline with Paul Walker, where scientists and soldier to go back to France to rescue time travelers and the final Countdown Timeline, Time Timeline, and the final Countdown where Kirk Douglas and Martin Sheen get transported on a nineteen eighty airplane carrier full

of Navy dudes back to the day before. Pearl Harbor. Okay, okay, Anti shots out to that stupid pearl jam last of a shirt. What the fuck do you remember the twenty first night of September that link it again. I want to see love was changing the minds of pretenders while chasing the clouds away. Eddie Kingston is double champ. Let's go. John Rambo is a better fleshed out character than Rocky Balboa. Both are still great. I

installed gutter guards this weekend and they are working perfectly. And I bet fellow old man on this podcast are extinctually nodding their heads in solidarity. Uh ek Vinine, CHIPNK, dodgeball tip practice, evading monkey wrenches. You can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball. I guess by getting you two. Hey, it worked. I feel great. Yes, no better way to feel better than making other people feel bad. And finally, Dan watch the anime hajime no epo. It's rocky the anime. I feel like I've heard people bring this up. I think I was on that anime panel once and somebody brought it up. I's it's boxing, like boxing is the focus of it. It's like a rocky anime. Yeah, it's okay, it's a boxing anime. I liked a couple episodes

And we only had to play watch you play it for a year of our entire lives. Do you think it looks worse than Bubbsy? It's That's a tough one. Bubbsy's very very bad. Yeah. I don't think it looks worse. Definitely not. Yeah, no, yeah, I mean the cut scenes in the beginning and at the very end, they're okay. I guess Sonic tells the

story. At least, I'm not sure what Bubbsy is doing, to be honest. Voicemail dump truck upf This week, we have tentative plants to play a game, but maybe if the service don't work, we can't play it, so we'll play something else. That's like very exciting, because very good. I love introducing people Cowboy Bebop and then then coming out be like yep, that that really I'll say. People want to like try to get that Titan Fall two on sale. We're probably

gonna try to run a T and T with that next week. Yes, we're doing T T TF two again, but the otherwise again, but the different TF two, yes, or of there's a bunch of TF twos actually, so yeah, look out for that. I think it's like three dollars. So that's why I'm like, hey, go get it. But we'll try to do that next see is what we're trying.
