People, there's so many stories of this doll in Key West, Florida that people report can put a curse on you if you're disrespectful. I'm not dealing with Robert. You're gorgeous, You're of Florida, babe. You're lovely. Okay, So here's a story that Jessa sent about an example of Robert the Doll being Robert the Doll. So Jessa writes, I live in the Florida Keys. I have for many years. I've got two sons, Zay and Seth. Seth is in a local soccer league that played against the other local Keys teams.

Robert the Doll.

We are told to be respectful because Robert doesn't like it when you disrespect him.

Your cameras will break, your pictures won't develop, you might even have your car breakdown, or your wife will leave you if you're not careful. I was very respectful, honestly. I mean if I was married to a man that was making fun of a doll, I would probably leave him too, Okay, so I was very respectful, and I told both Zain and Seth to do the same.

They did. The guide instructed that if we wanted to take.

I kept thinking. I saw a small figure in the seat. I turned to look and there was no one there. It happened several times. In the corner of my eye, I could see Robert sitting in the passenger seat. I turned on some music to distract me from the scare. We got home, safe and sound. I look at my phone. I had a wallpaper picture of Sully Erna on my phone screen.

Who's Sully Erna?

Oh?

Okay from the band God's Smack. Okay, all right, So Erna was on Jess's phone. I look at my phone and the wallpaper was changed to the picture I had taken of Robert. I changed it back and I go to sleep. I woke up, look at my phone. It was changed again to my picture of Robert. I changed it back to Sully. I got dressed and went to work. I put my phone on my desk, looked at it Robert.

I deleted the picture from my phone. I thought it was done.

I looked at my phone later that afternoon, Robert's back. I changed it back. I sat at my desk shaking, and I kind of prayed. I said out loud to myself, Robert, I'm sorry those guys were so stupid when we went to see you, but I was not with those men. Please stop changing my phone screen and terrorizing me. I'll never disrespect you. After that, my phone screen never changed, and I have never gone back to see Robert the Doll again. If you do see him, please be kind.

A long time?

I have been involved in mysticism for so long so my mom actually thought that she was psychic. And yeah, she'd be like, give me a piece of jewelry, like she would she had my sister's boyfriend give her like a uh, I'm like his one of those necklaces.

Called puka shell.

Yeah, it wasn't that. That would have been amazing.

Was that what you meant?

No, but she was like, give me your puka shell necklace or whatever piece of jewelry it was. I think it was a bracelet, and she held it in her hand and she recalled some memory from his childhood by holding this piece of jewelry. And then she would have these wild epiphanies. My mom was WHOA kind of I don't like to be like, she was out there whoa.

If she was, it's possible.

Eleaene is just deeply interested in the paranormal. But my mom came back, you know, from seeing her friend Elaine, and she goes Elizabeth. Today. I looked at Elaine and I saw two people. She was split down the center Elaine. I'm like, Mom, Elaine drinks John bajuice, she plays racketball.

Wait, is she saying that Elaine was gender fluid? Oh, Elaine's non binary?

Wow? Maybe well, I had not considered that interpretation.

Has any of this gone passed down to you?

Yes? So I My mom was also really into astrology. We would all read our horoscopes with her in the morning. And I moved to New York, of course first stand up and then I ended up mixed up in this with the psychics. Now and I was on the Upper West Side writing in my journal and this old man, his name was Baba Shalom, came teetering down the street. So this old man in essentially like a bathrobe. He looked like a vulture like hobbling down the street. And he comes up to me and he goes you. He

But wow, I mean, okay, but still.

Weirdly, he sat down and he did a palm reading for me that now I haven't really considered this poem reading since, but it was pretty accurate.

What did it say?

That I would be single in adulthood kind of and that I would have like a health issue, which I ended up like getting lime, I had, I had a brain how much? I just got to say it openly on the podcast. But I have had challenges and now thinking about it, because at the time I was like, wow, that's a really negative palm reading, but some of it came to.

Be Now do you think was there a reason that he was telling you this? Because I'm like, what do I do with you telling me I'm going to be single in ten years?

Does that make me? Should I not date anyone?

I think what he was doing, and I have to say I don't love palm reading because it's so fixed. It's also why I love taro more than astrology. I feel like there are certain like palm reading and astrology. It's like if this line is like this, this is how to interpret it? Or like if you're a leo with a leo rising. This is the interpretation, whereas tarot is like fluid because it changes moment to moment, and I kind of see it as like a little museum

And there's and I don't know who you're talking about, this person that you're talking about, but I've found from my life of surrounding myself with eccentrics, sometimes it goes further than just like they're just kookie, Like it becomes crazy town quest right.

I've been asked to go in and like check on people. I mean, I've had I've had relationships with many senior citizens.

That's so wild. Okay. Someone was like, can you go in and check if Paul is alive? Just go knock on the door. This was all during like a few years that I lived in New York. I realized I needed more spirituality in my life. So I started going to synagogue on Friday nights alone. I would just sit in the back row, and then afterward I would go to the It's called like an o egg where you kind of like you get wasted getting but you like can have a glass wine and like a cookie and

That is amazing. But she looked I mean, she was dressed, you know, and very pedestrian clothing. But he was like, she is a princess, like Baba told me that before she showed up. I think that Baba and I probably had similar ancestry. I think that he was probably like a Russian check Jew like me. Okay, so uh he was like, she's a princess. So anyway, this woman we're talking. I look at her palm, and her whole thing is her whole issue was I can't leave my mother's side.

It's great for the story.

Great for the story. So she takes out this photo and the mom is just being like, could not look like a healthier like maybe like Jane Fonda in her Heyday.

Oh my god.

And I said, this is so crazy that I said this. I said, your mom is not sick.

Which is that's bold.

Bold, dangerous bad. It's bad that I said that, but I knew from And she goes, why do you say that? And I said, well, what does your mom have? What is the diagnosis, and she's like, nothing yet, but she is very tired, and she needs me to always go to the grocery store. And I said, she's using you. Oh my god, your mom is using not in a bad way, but she loves you and she wants you to stay there, and she wants you, you know, to

Damn yes, So you interpret this as your psychic gifts or do you think it was?

I didn't, but Baba did, okay, And he said, you did an amazing job today. I want to take you to see more clients, so I became his apprentice.

Now did you gather from like the way that he read you? Initially based on you had a book? He said you'd be a writer. And you look at the picture and you say, oh, she's faking it because she looks healthy, and then he goes, wow, you're still psychic reading. Does do you think that he interpreted as psychic abilities more so just reading people based on the way that they present.

I think a lot of it is that. Yeah, and a lot of times, and I don't think that's wrong.

Sometimes people don't know what they're giving off.

This woman, I mean yeah, when I say she seemed like she was just the most concerned, like some people just can't let Oh you don't want to let go of your mother? Did I actually say, by the way, your mother's not sick. I don't know that I said those words, but I did say I'm not sure you know I said something to that effect. I want to be clear about that. I was not trying to be like, what's that going? A John of God? I go bring her hair, I'll rip about her heart and check for myself.

Oh my God will.

Drive his hand through your stomach. And I'm not kidding for some people to say yes, but then other people were like that is he made it worse. He's a fraud. Like there's a lot of controversy around John of God. And actually look up Wayne Dyer John of God. Do you know Wayne Dyer. He's like a spiritual guru who passed away a couple of years ago, I believe of leukemia and I think he went to see John of God and got specific instructions but he ended up like passing away.

Wow, I don't know anything about this person. Yeah, he's with Oprah.

John of God. Oh that's so funny. I bet he was on Oprah in Brazil. Yeah, he has some claims to have some gift and people say he will reach inside with his bare hand.

It says here that he's claims to have cured millions of people, including Oprah Renfrey. What did you cure her?

Of? John of God is a whole insane I got to look into that all the other time. It is wild. Yeah, So it's not like I was doing anything like that or you know. But then I started to go with Baba to see his other clients, and I would just offer my interpretation I guess, you know.

But going back to what I was just thinking a second ago, I do think it's interesting to be read like that, whether it's psychic or not, even just to go what kind of vibe do I give off?

A lot of people don't know.

You remember that show it used to do with Sam where we would that was the whole point was just looking at a stranger and.

Yes, didn't I have something crazy happen on that show where I guessed everything's.

I want to say, yes, you're probably yes, you were good at it. Where the whole thing is you just look at a person and you go, here's what I would guess looking at you, and not everyone has the luxury of YouTube comments for strangers around the world to say exactly what they think of you just by looking at you. Okay, wait, tell me more about So how did this baba?

What was it? Baba shalom, which means hello, goodbye and peace and Hebrew. Okay, and I think baba might mean father. I actually don't know what baba means.

I literally almost just said Baba, O'Reilly, which is oh my god, I think that what is that A whose song? Baba shalom, Baba shalom? Okay.

So I started working with Baba. Well, this is where our relationship kind of went downhill is that I was also bartending at the time, and I was working at a party and this guy was like, I said, I need a job. You know. They were like, oh, do you do this full time? And I said no, I'm looking for a job. And this like millionaire guy was like, well, I need a nanny. And he lived in this like three story building and Tribeca and he was like, you can live with me, rent free, nanny my kids. I

And he was like, isn't Meryl Street fabulous? Is the Rabbick I'm just like, what is going on right now? So then I go, I'm so sorry I had to quit the Well, this is another crazy thing. I wonder if the story is actually like out in public. I found out that he staged a birth. So one night I came home and I couldn't get into my place, and I found out that he had. And then the next morning I went back to the were police cars everywhere, and I go what happened? And they were like, who

Okay, but wait, so this is when you stopped being friends with the psychic because he told you.

So then I went back to Baba and I was like, you were wrong. I go that guy ended up being a crack and he just kind of looked at me blankly. He's like, well, you know, like he had some thing, and then he just went on to the next person.

You know.

I would go to the coffee shop and just see him talking to some other woman, like I had been like this disposable psyche cercy.

My thing was psychics.

I have so many thoughts about psychics, but it used to be for me. I really liked the confidence of a psychic being like, here's what's going to happen, here's what you're gonna do, because I know because I have this gift. And as time goes on, I'm more so like, no, I want a psychic that's like I.

Feel like you should do this.

I'm getting a sense that this is what's good, or you know, kind of being a little bit more open to interpretation, but using their gifts as a tool to help them to give a reading or a type of advice or whatever, as opposed to here's what you need to do, because then that way they tend to be wrong more.

I'm obsessed watch what you say about Tyler Henry. I'm obsessed. I used to do Tyler as a character. Tyler Henry like the most polite person in the world. Okay, like just the most lovely human being outside of being a psychic. Totally could just have a show where he goes and is polite and I would watch.

Oh totally. I just like watching him not knowing who celebrities are.

Because I relate to that because I can't tell you how many times I've talked to people and then I'm like, right, So, like they'll say something like, oh, was I telling you this?

I was just telling somebody else.

They'll be like, oh, I'm going to the Golden Globes and I go, oh, really why because I'm nominated what for what?

Well. I so. In college, I studied abroad. I went to the Netherlands, for a semester. Oh right, and I lived in this old it was called Casteal. Well if you look it up castle, Well, it was kind of in this small town in the Netherlands, and it was like we would go to this castle with like all these creative students and just have the experience of like it was kind of amazing. I feel very lucky that

But I believe she was murdered. I think that's what it was, or she died young somehow. I need to find the story. Her name was Sophie. If you want to research it, and it was called castle well, w e l yes, please look it up. Because I found all this stuff on Pinterest. I'm like, who's talking about this one? This apparition? But if something happens, it's playful, it's fine. They were fully aware of this as a recurring incident at this castle. Oh my god, if something happens, this.

Sounds like a reality show, like everyone has to be in a room and you're gonna find out who's the mole or like whatever.

It was like that, yeah, and it was something we didn't talk about it all the time. And there was like a big kind of like gorgeous, like I don't want to say ballroom, but it was like where everyone would hang out. And they called it Sophie's, like the castle very much like honored her presence and was welcome to it and not like you know, it was like this is called Sophie's, this room that we had fun in,

Still does taro. Is just so in touch with, you know, mysticism and the and like nature in a way. She was a poet and just there was like a whole vibe in room that was just like the energy of it. So one night we're lying in bed, the door opens, stops and closes, not just oh must have been the wind opens and closes, and we're like, oh, my god. But we were like open to it then. And I think this was another night, two books flew off the shelf hit the ground. One night the water turned on

She said, she felt like there was like a heartbeat or like somewhere in the bed or something. So we were like, it's got to be our room. It has to be, you know. It's not like these happened like, you know, we were there for a semester. It was they happened kind of spaced out. But then at the end we asked which room was it, and they said it was Room nineteen.

It was yours.

Yeah, we got the Sophie room and it was also the room that was There were rooms downstairs. There were there was like a main castle and then there were separate rooms. We were in the main castle and it was like you go up the stairs and you walk all the way down the hall and it's on the right, and that.

Was like was always so scary at nighttime.

It wasn't really weirdly. This castle had a very warm vibe. It had like I'm going to describe the carpet color as like putting like vanilla pudding color, Okay, you know what I mean, where it's like it's not like it's like a dark almost yellowy eggshell color.

Okay.

So it had like a friendly vibe, you know, like the doors were really old, but it didn't have a feeling of like darkness there. It still felt like a really positive place. Even though this stuff was happening, It wasn't really that scary there, so.

You weren't freaked out from this.

I think at the time I was almost in disbelief. And I think that I was making up excuses for it as well, like that's so crazy? Was there? You know, a storm or something, or maybe someone kicked it open or I remember kind of trying to justify it, And I think it was the books off the shelf that were for me. That's turning way.

That is one of those things where it's like you can explain away a door opening. Now, of course it's different when it's it's harder to explain it when it's open, slam or whatever. But like books flying off the show you what is there that you can possibly say about that?

Right? There was nothing, I mean, and I hadn't even really I believed at the time in the dead. I once thought that my grandma because I was with my grandma at the moment she died alone. Wow. And I then had some weird thing happened at night once where I felt like my Grandma was coming in through my back, my lower.

Back coming into your body.

Yeah, or somehow into my life force at night. And what's weird is the night before my grandma died, I've actually had how two crazy psychic things that have happened to me.

Really, Okay, one is a little sensitive. It does involve nine to eleven. I'm going to actually let me start with the grandma.

Okay, okay, okay.

And okay, So my grandma I went out. It was New Year's Eve and my grandma was living at my house and my mom had not left her side. Like as my grandma was dying. She had a lung I don't think it was lung cancer. It was like lung some disease, long disease. So we created this room for her downstairs, and there was a hospice nurse and my mom had left for like one hour or something. Everyone was like, Diane, you have to take a break or whatever.

Does she have?

No, it was just like a very you know, normal watch. But like so then later, like either that night or the next night, I had this thing where I felt like she came into my body and for some reason, I felt like I was looking through her eyes. WHOA the next night, Yeah, does she want her watch back?

When it comes to you offering terrort services to people, do you think that you're psychic when it comes to being a tarot reader?

I do not claim to be psychic. However, I do everything I can to connect with the cuarrant, the person to whom I'm giving the reading.

I don't claim to be psychic. I do like to connect with the client as much as I can, and I have been told that my readings are very spot on. But I've also had it where, you know, one day and this is I did the There was like used to be a UCB Street festival and they hired me to do taro and I was so locked in that day. Just everything I was saying was like yes, yes, yes, yes. There was a line around like down the street to get a reading. Everyone's like you've got to go see her.

I have never had that happen, but I imagine I had.

Once where they had to sound like a cooler, like someone to be like to change the energy. They do that at a see. Now, if you're doing well and they're like, this person's winning a lot in a row, they'll send someone over to stand near you to change the energy. What and it's called a cooler, but.

It's like kind of a mystical thing.

They don't they don't, you know, acknowledge it as such.

But it kind of is if their whole point is to.

Change and like they're carrying a cooler.

That's what I thought you meant at first.

I'm like, wait, they gave you a cooler because you just couldn't get away from the sub machine.

They're like, here's a cooler full of food so you can keep keep going.

Yeah, they do that to shift the energy. Wow, uh huh.

I mean I talk a lot about comedians or musicians or whatever where just like with psychics, you're not. Sometimes you bomb right, but also you can read other people, and you can read the vibe in a room, and you can get into a rhythm where everything just hits right.

Yeah, and Taro's like that, I think. But then I had one I remember on that day where they're like yeah, but they were also very closed off to it. And I think there is something about there being kind of like an open am I about to quote program, I'm like, open flow, that's even even. There has to be an even flow. Okay, I think I mean not necessary, but I.

I mean I feel like I've been actually doing it since oh seven, yeah wow, a long time. Yeah, but a lot has changed to And we were talking about this before the show. People are very judgmental when I comes to tarot readers.

You know, everybody thinks they have the answers. This is your in a way, it's it's an artistic thing, I think, the way that someone interprets taro and you know, like I was, I got a reading.
