Episode description
One of the greatest epics of all time, Ran is Kurosawa's sensible rendition of Shakespeare's King Lear, set in the feudal period. It explores the tragic story of lord Hidetora, whose attempt to separate his powers between his three sons turns into a civil war that leads to the demise of the clan and everything around it.
