Get Get Boys. It's back and reoded all in your mind. Yeah, and that deep throating. This is for the streets, the reel, the railroading, the distant franchise, the truth escape building. And they ain't know when we speak the truth, so they ain't quoted because we wrote it. The North South East coat is the g b my keeping your head bobbing. It ain't no stopping and wants to be drips head by. And then the system is so corrupt they throw the rock out of their heads and then blame it on us.
Don't get it twisted on code and me and danceing for no buttament biscuits. It's Willie d y'all scar faces in the building. Collectively we are the ghetto Boys, loaded reloaded with another episode of information and instructions to help you navigate through this wild, crazy, beautiful world. In the studio, Corey LaMotte, hold them damn. I ain't heard that in
a way. I'm just gonna say, Lamont, Samford don't know that about So they're like, oh, that's an old elderly you're Chicago boy, man, Hey man, I want to get something out of the way real fast by Chicago. You know a lot of people think of Chicago, especially lately in the news as a place like this just great violence and and all this type of stuff. All this bad stuff is negative energy associated with Chicago, Right. I
know different because I know people from Chicago. Besides you, I know people from Chicago, a lot of good people, right, I know, some bad people do, but I know some good people from Chicago. Like, how does that make you feel? From Chicago? Most time lately in the news, every time you hear about Chicago or something bad. Uh, that's just what they want to promote right now. By me um being one who travels around the country a lot, it's the same thing where it's really bad, generation is bad.
They just let you know that the conditions in the community has not changed, you know, nowhere in the country. It's just every everywhere, all around the world, same song, Like like digital Underground, you know, all around the world, same song. It's the same song in every black community across the country. Who y'all think the worst city as far as to go with violence and just I'm talking about like the hood violence where it's just so corrupt
everywhere the same ship. It ain't seem like they take turns and the bad stories kind of take turns. Let's set. I mean, I can't give. I can't. I can't uh glorify a city for having a harder get on another another city, because I feel like it's the same kind of sucking. It's the same ship, you know what I mean, it's the same exact ship. Yeah, nothing changing, and it's working out exactly how they planned it. Yes, it's by design,
social construct. Yeah, it's design created for sure, as we're created, and they created it for the stuff that's happening in to actually happen. You ain't got for the one of time some of these house sometimes the winter time save lives. You know. I got some homeboys in Chicago, and I got a lot of fans. A matter of fact, my cousin as a as a Cook County as Cook County yea, yeah, yeah,
Cook County Sheriff. And he said, yeah, man, when it's cool now, because it's cold outside, but when summertime come, they're gonna start killing again. O man. Yeah, my my my cousin here, Cook County chef too. And he gave me the condition that we were in in the community. He said, hey, man, look, we had the killers in here. Telling on everybody like yeah, he's like they cover there, they tell like it ain't nothing, just to get up
out or whatever. They are. What I'm saying, like our generation, it wasn't like that because we're a little older now, you know what I'm saying. But our generation, you couldn't be a person who tell on everybody and be hanging around everybody. Ain't gonna do that. Yeah happened now this new in the racing. They can tell on everybody and come right back around the hood. Where the Chicago you're coming from. I claimed the South Side, but I lived
everywhere in Chicago. I live everywhere in Chicago. Long we got a section eight, we moved to the north Side, then you know, west Side. I went to school out there, grew up on the south side of Robert Taylor. Hoo. How was that? What was that like? Man? Growing up in your household? And how how did you get to a point to where you said, Man, I think I want to do comedy. A lot of kids that come from the hood, we think first you're thinking it's football, basketball.
How did you say nothing wrap? How did you design? Look? Man? I think comedy is my room. I always did it well. I mean, like not trying to brag what. I'm a natural at this. I've always been talking crazy. Man. The teachers used to have to tell me to shut up, but they'd be laughing when they it's broke with you. I've been there my whole life. So I'm like, Okay, something's working with this if I Actually they had the opportunity to check out your show last night, man, and
I thought it was absolutely fantastic, bro. But I'm glad you liked it because you saw how stressed out I was those things. But all that was going on in the back and you see this really there was some ship going on between between uh, between Corey and another comedian man, and the damn that came to blow, and I didn't notice other comedian was a dopehend Yeah, Man, he came. He tried to take over the whole spot, because that's what he knew, you know what I'm saying.
When he comes to you know, ahe town, he go up, and then he got the whole thing to himself for him. He you know, when my back was turned everything when the haywire, because you know, I try to accommodate him because I liked the guy. Huh, I said, oh God, I like him. Know it's normally the little hey, how are you doing? Type of stuff? But I forgot, Oh he get high. I had an uncle like that, my uncle, my mother's brother. He when he get high, people want
to kill him because he started fights. He talked crazy. That's how I know about that behavior. But would he not how he's like, hi, how are you? He's just such a regular guy. But then was he get his little mama on it's over? He'd be ready to fight everybody. I bet he did. We don't even know where he had no more. We just stopped from for a while. Is it fair to call someone a dope? Yes? If they just use occasionally? How did how did that go?
I called people dope phase? Then people who disappear and they come back and hold another person, all the people who lose their personality. It's just naturally and me to be like, oh, there you go, there you go, there you go. I don't know, Willie I ship? I mean when I go to the hospital, I can said to myself a dope fan, Yeah, where you got to be? Sometimes? Will you be feeding for dupe? Like I knowing that motherfucker act like I'm hurt to get high. Yeah, you
go to the hospital to get well. I go to the hospital to get high. I got some of the pills. But don't want that ship. I want the mother. I want that. I want that ship really right, and then when and then when it's old way, I want the mother to wake me up and said, come on me out of here. And I've been so high. I've been. I've been so high before in the hospital, bro, until I had the dad to detox me because they knew I was going to get out. I got dope sick.
That happened to me, though you got dope sick. When I had kidney stone. I had got used to taking them, the pain pills I had. I was on them for like almost six months. And then when I got off for him, I was I was working at the Improv and Timper I was man. I woke up the bed. I ain't never seen a bed death wet. I was like, they're gonna have to throw this mattress away. And I had this and I was on stage. Look this what
thing goes looking at me? He said that nig withdrawing y'all because I couldn't I was doing might actually tell you he was looking at about He waited about ten minutes before he said, and he said that nigger with growing up till dog. And I was because I had never withdraw me phone. I didn't know. I was like, so that's what he happened in the digging and I was freezing in the green that wasn't even that cold. Yeah, I didn't know for real. I didn't realize it like that.
That's why I know what he's talking about. Man. I want to go back Corey like I wanted. I'm trying to get to that family nucleus, man, Like, what made you who you are? Like it's everybody says, you know, it starts at home, right, So at home? What was your upbringing? Like? You know what kind of what kind of you know? Did you have brothers and sisters? You know you raised mom father? What was that family nucleus? It was my mom taking care of all of us. I had older brother, I was the next, and uh,
I had another sister. That's how I started with a young core And uh, I'm telling you, will you believe me when I say this? Man, I just always was this guy saying some funny some stupid um. You know what I'm saying they didn't have video cameras like they did. Now. I saw a video tape of my son actis silly at the little family together, and I was like, yeah, that's my boy. Did you and your sisters and brothers fight fight eat you? Not real fighting? He wasn't really
fighting me. I mean it was just us growing up. Did I didn't do it at home because it was too easy, you know, all my family us, Yeah, ready for this, you know what I said. But when I got to school, I was the king of it because I was a bum. I ain't had no nice clothes and nothing to me against the players. Keep them off. Yeah they look they used to dress better than me. But they was like, I can't beat him. You know, I tried. I tried, asked Willie last night. I tried
every comedian they came by there. They came out by by me and Willie was sitting there, Oh yeah, telling They didn't take him on though, because I just had a reverence. They were like, now, man, we can't. I can't. I can't know, he said, man, tap man, but you're gonna have that problem real. Ain't nobody gonna get you for real? Because they you should get me for real, so I can get you. You know what, man, Let's have it. Let's okay, no mind we're talking about now,
get him, Court. I don't think you should get him just because he think comedy that easy. I think you should get I ain't never see him the comment get him. I ain't never said I was no comedy Willy. I'm just saying I said that we didn't handle the throwing up. All we did was talking about that one man message you just just shot out there. Knock out for me, that's a really good that high of the Motherfu's a
real comedian. That's a solid comedian. He put the work in, and here you come in the last motherfucking a few months thinking you can do this ship Get him, Court, I'm at all. I can't really ride of like what I see him. I see all kind of funny stuff, but but I haven't take it. I'll take you. The stuff could come out of my mind. It won't come out. It's like a firewall because it's phase. I got love, like I know, like I'm funny to know y'all. You know what I'm saying, right all this is funny to
be his confident. Some of you icy drink man. Don't let Willie tell you that he gotta because his head. Now, y'all, Willie told him no drinker. You know. I can tell Willie right that it is. I don't feel batter he gotta drink something you gotta call Strode. Ain't what he used to be back in the next year, but didn't have to have ice in it. Yeah, this is y'all. Get old boys. Don't y'all understand anything y'all do everybody, Willie, you could never say you ain't no ghetto boy. Ghetto boy.
Everybody would what happened with your group at certain times and every thing. Trust me, our generation. I'm fifty three years old. I ain't got no saying. I do the race of the people, y'all icon So it's hard to talk about a pillion flavor of the same age William Flavor Flavor man. But look, I hope look man, ain't look man say the same. I hope to beat Flavor flames age flavor that I don't got much older than that Flavors And he's in the sixties, is he? Yeah? Wow,
I didn't even know that. And if you ever got a TV show, you should have Flavor flavor on the show. So everybody looking at you was to hand someone on the show. You know what I'm saying, like real talk, that a talk that all ship. Everything he's going through right now, That's that's what I'm talking about, trying to get him a little bit. But I got love. I know, man, How is how is it that all these great comedians
come out of Chicago. Man, we're talking Bill Murray, you had Lush Brothers, Robin Harris, Robin Robin Harry was Robin Harris from Chicago. Bernie Map you know, you had Robin Williams. You know, Dre was um did Gregory, uh Aery Spears, Richard Bryce from down the road, and uh Illinois and right right, right, right right. Look, I ain't trying to bust them guys out there from Chicago outline suburbs. So you might well says you hit it on the dot in Chicago, but but but in so many more. I know,
Mrs Kathy Griffin is from Chicago. That's It's a lot of comedians from Chicago. Every time I look up, it's like, damn, man, what is it about Chicago that brings produces so many great comedians? Y'are not just good comedians, great comedians. If I if I had something to come up with, I think having four seasons it does something to the body when you really have like a winter, fall, spring, summer. I think it does something to the body, the mind and everything when you see things in a certain way.
If you if you're not living in a climate where you get four seasons, sometimes you miss out on things. I think. I think that's out here. This is just hot. It is hot here, just hot, man. And then it'd be call for like twenty minutes, and then it will be a thunder. Get out to kitchen, man, time. Man's supposed to be hot. Goddamnit. Y'all coming down here crying about the weather and ship. You know what it is, man, don't come out. People actually moving down here, hunds of
people moving here from other states and other cities. Man. I couldn't believe when I saw Willie get out the gud with his sweatshirt. Yeah, don't. I can't believe Willie get out the call with a bucket hat on, no swear at all. That's like the happen. You know what it is, man, Thank you, This is my my daughter made this. This is go Yeah, uh, you know, check it out. I need to get Yeah, I don't know what y'all going at it. We're going at it. We always going at it though. That's what's up. We stay
at it. That's what's interesting though. But but me and Willie we've always been you know, it's the the big brother. Don't like the little brother ship with me and him, Your little brother don't like the big brother. You know what I'm saying, that's not true. Gonna try to make me the bad guys saying, see how I see this is what I'm saying. By listen, Bimal, he said, this dude is way. He's motherfucking smarter. Did he look? I believe I never go off your looks. He's good, bro,
He's always your in him. He's he's always thinking man like. He's really really shop So when he says certain ship and you might try to dismiss it as something just sative, you know, but not this time when you know how people know you shot up for real and you oh, when y'all wrapped. I listened to people wrapped some people at ABC one to three. I has some good lyrics, real talk that ain't that ain't me being faith so no, Willie Willie, Willie Willie was speaking French or something on them.
When you speaking French on one of you, now that's Bonnie. You can't understand, like you hook left the Popeine. People don't know what that's like. That's French. It wasn't real, friend, that's left in the Popeine. Who's who asked me? This ship? Uh dj quick and uh high see yep, And they thought it was in another language and I was like, no, he said, hooked a left in the Popeye's and billed out, well, well, I'm I'm responsible for what I say, not how they
interpret it exactly. Yeah. But but back to the French. I used to date this chick that spoke seven languages, so she you know, she gave me that. Brad, don't don't get don't get that Willy. I didn't say what if I said, I ain't say ship to you, bro. Don't don't get hid at me, man, because we've got a lower standards man, know what I'm saying. I My set is differently. I want to want to brag on this ship, but you know, stay in your lane, Brad, stay in your lane. Don't get mad at me. Had
the chances that having comfort ship. How so, if you if you, if you ain't really got no standards for man, I remember being on toy Willie Brother. Yeah, I want Willy. I want to meet Willie. I want to mean Willy. I want to meet Willie. Okay, I ain't taking the Willy room. Man, I lock on the dough man and you'll see that, like it'd be light in the people. And then you'll see that and then didn't get light back into people again. Evidently like tour was interesting too,
was interesting. Tour wasn't interesting. Man. We had a lot of fun back in the reckless days. No, I wasn't. Really some reckless days. Y'all had some reckless days. Y'all ain't y'all ain't saints. Things happen. You ain't got to talk about it. Things happened on the road. No, no way, no way. The stuff you say, like a lot of the stuff you say, you can try to you can try to create with your imagination, but you just see something. I'm looking at your glasses. They tell me everything I
need to know. They thick. That means he sees he got strong vision. They think, yeah, yeah, I gotta tell the roads stories But that's right, y'all, keep going. I'm happy to be in here, I said, voted podcast will be right back after the spoet Corey. Have you ever gotten into because of a joke you told, I'm going all the way back to fight fight with with with a with a celebrity or comedian or something. Hold on, stop stop, all right, this type I'm talking about, bro.
I asked a question, and then this guy tried to nullify my fucking question with a question of what he would have did if a mom went to the point. What's wrong with asking the questions? Answering my question? All right, we'll go ahead, damn man, answer this question. Goddamn man's cold protocol. But the away, you know, interviewing protocol. You know what I'm saying. But check this out, like, have
you ever gotten to a fight growing up? When you were you know, growing up because you used to rink on people a lot, you've gotten to a fight for ranking or somebody. I never got in a fight with ranking or nobody. The only fights I had was with bullies, like people who just try a strong arm you because
they've bigger than you or whatever whatever them. The fights I had with bullies but when I when I used to when I used to talk about people, I always knew it how to do I always knew how to do it in a way where everybody was laughing, including person I'm talking about, because I always be we call it. You know that doesn't and whatever. Yeah, this is what we do, professional bro. Yeah yeah. But far as I go that to somebody walking up on stage slapping me,
I'm not. I ain't saying them no bad guy. And trust me, I know Will Smith is trained with boxing and other stuff, but he couldn't slap me. He ain't gonna slappy slappy. Let me tell you something, man, I don't work out no more or do nothing, but I have a core stress and my legs a real stroke. So once I get you on the ground, my headlock game is invisible. I know how to act like. But I'm going for the headlock because I love that headlock. You never lose what you got, get up under that neck,
got him, got him whoever it is. You know what I'm laughing at, man, I'm thinking. I just had a thought that if if all of these people are talking about what they would have done, and if we would have slapped him, and what happened to walk up to me and slap me? This is this is the point I'm trying to make. Well has had to hear some of these people talk about what they would have done, and I'm thinking to myself, we all is probably like, yeah, how to slap. You'll bit your ass too. I'm slacking
ass too. You probably would with some of them people I didn't get. I didn't get a hit before because I rows and it changed me. Whenever I feel aggression, I always do. I'm the king of this, get that, this is that, get back? Hey, what out? So I even froze in a while, because that's what happened to people when they get into fights. When you freeze, you got here first, or you realize it's happened when somebody
walking up on me aggressively. It's a natural instinct now because I don't want I just see people get knocked out in the streets and still be getting to hit while they knocked out. I'd be like, God, I don't never want that, say that. I'm like, he down, leave alone, beating on his face while he out. That's my nightmare, my nightmare. But a slap is something you do to somebody to disrespect him all the face. Yeah, just ball up your fist, man and swinging me. Let's gonna do
it out right, but don't slap me. And then turn around and yes, but look's getting older now. You know you ain't who you used to be, right fighting, You ain't what you used to be. And sometimes you got to get in a fight to realize who you used to be. Because I noticed dude still boxing the gym. Yeah, well the last time you boxing box but I still fight. But see the different somebody who boxed, like who trained boxing.
They got the advantage over most people on the street because most people just fight swing off passion or whatever, like the boxer know how to and you'd be like you missed in your jokes. Not just that. If you think about it, the average fight only last a few seconds. The average fighting street fight, Your average street fight only last a few seconds. Fighters are trained to fight three minutes every three minut and three minute intervals. That's why I don't be doing all that swinging. I love it
until you get tired. And they call it dragging him in that water to get it get your tied. Yeah, so yeah, Corey, how do you how do you maintain like in this wild, crazy, beautiful world with all of the drama and trauma that's going on, and how do you how do you keep your peace and your happiness with all the madness that going on in the world. Because I come from nothing, and when I really realized that I got a lot, all of the stuff that I've been reaching for, I ain't reached the height of
that in no ways. But man, when I put it all in perspective, man, I literally come from rock bottom financially, and I could take care of myself during my work of the Lord, That's what I called. I'm doing the work of the Lord out here. So it's really hard to shake me up with anything. But but the thing is that you are human and you do have your days that we don't see where you're going through it
on a personal level, right, You have those days. Even even Corey Holkeum got to have days where he not feeling to inspire, Right, So how do you go and get on that stage and make people laugh who maybe going through a rough patch when you're going through one yourself. I can't remember the last time something happened, last time something happened to had me. There was when my Pops died. That's the last time I was really down. And did
you perform during that time? I wasn't doing comedy like that yet I was still performing because I've been performing, like I said, my whole life. But the perspective of most things, Man, don't nothing. You can't shake me up with nothing. What you're gonna tell me that's gonna shake me up? The only thing bothered me is death of a loved one. That's really the only thing to bother me. Everything else, I'd be like, man, we gotta work that out there. You know what I mean. Don't bother me man, right,
It's a really good way of looking at ship. Man, Damn, we gotta work that up. And on top of that, like real talk, Um, I realized that why are you out here trying to look for peace and anything? I put it like partnership, like somebody who you can really be with. Um. I mean I I I was married, and like I said, I always say this, my wife is somebody who I love. That's why I'm married her. But we are get along, you know what I'm saying. But now I have found me a friend, which is
what I think. We're not trained to look for as we're looking for a lady. That's why most of us come up short because we just won't who we won't. I have found me a friend out here, so it's even sweet or that, don't know, it's hard to make me be like, uh, Dawn, I got a friend and I still function like I'm out here. You know what I'm saying. So what could go? What could what is wrong with the world? Everything else is nonsense, you know
what I'm saying. It's nonsense that that friendship from your point, because in a lot of relationships, people will take their um, the person that they're in a romantic relationship with, for granted, But seldom do people take a good friend, a friend that they've been friends with for a long time, for granted, right because they know how hard it is to get a good friend. And it's I like, I know people who have been friends for years and years and years,
and they respect each other. They know what buttons to push, so they don't push those buttons that might set them off. But time and time again and intimate and romantic relationships, we push those buttons. Why do we do that? I mean, in your opinion, why why why do we take our the the person that we're in an intimate relationship with, with the person that we actually lay our head next to, for granted. And and when we treat our actual friends, the friends you know outside of that union, you know
better and with more respect. A dirt bag is a dirt bag. I'm saying, Like, if it's people out here doing scaled less stuff to the people the day around, you know what I'm saying, those are the people you got to get away from. But the relationship things I would tell people, Listen, man, you gotta really watch who people are and understand that's who they are. Are they bad because that's who they are as they came to you.
Because most of the time in relationships is the messing around with multiple people that causes relationships to break up. I would say to the ladies out there, you know this real game from the no G I call myself old now at the fifty three, listen, watch who are you trying to get into a relationship with, And once they show you who who they are, don't get mad at them because that's what they are. Like it sounds like that's too much to think about, but it's simple.
People are going to show you who they are. If you're around somebody, you're gonna see what's up with them. And if you get mad at them because they didn't mold what mold into what you wanted them too, I think it's something wrong with you. I know I can't change nobody. I'm good at picking out people who I feel like I want to be around, saying, but most of the women I've been around in my life, they are not good at picking out the guy that they won't.
They think that you are supposed to get it together and mold in the way they want you to be. So you know what I'm saying, Yeah, you're not gonna You're not gonna switch it up, no matter how much you want to keep them or whatever. So all your ladies out there understand people are gonna show you they are. Stop getting mad at them because they continue to be
who they are. Ye goes back to not trying to change a person, but change your expectations of a person, because if you change your expectations of a person, then they can't let you down. If you just look at that person for who they are and not expect anything other than but their you know their character producers, then you know you can deal with that person most. I mean a lot of me because I know a player when I see one. I know a girl who messes
around and dips around. They always act like I'm talking crazy. I could feel it when I'm around you. It's your presence when I'm around a woman who likes to have that uh multiple guy syndrome, That's what I call it. I know it, and I always let you be who you be. But almost every time I checked on him, because I feel like it's not man like to be watching somebody and checking on them all the time. But once in a while I do a little check to see, let me see if this bitchs who I thought she was.
And they always be who I thought they was. How do you check? I just know I was around this one girl. Her phone never run around me. I used to be like, man, so you don't know nobody. And he always used to tell me about what I'm doing. And then one of these weekends I talked about this on myself. One day, I just really was like, let me go see what she doing, because she thought I would was out of town. And when I checked on that, it was exactly what I thought it was. I was like,
you a player. You pulled up at the house, did did the stalking weirdo? Dude? Take me? Her car wasn't there at the time where it should be there, And it was like, I didn't know what she was, but I trust my instincts. I was like, what ship her son had just got this new um, I think it was a coach or something like that, and I was just like, and it was exactly what I thought it was. I knew she was gonna be there because I, you know, I traveled a lot, and I was like, this is
exactly what I thought it was. And when I asked her about it, she would never tell me. And this is just the average story of ladies, I know. So does that make me a bad I make bad choices, I guess so, but I'll be knowing what's up, I'll be knowing who around me. So how did that relationship
deserve himself? It eventually was like, you know, let it go like that, like it be, especially when when when when she felt like I knew who she was, he couldn't handle it normal because that's just like you know that look, when you know a woman ain't no good, they'd be knowing you don't look at me to say no more. They know you know what your act. You go hard period. Now you know some people, some people
will say you go hard on women. Right. So, but here's the thing, like, when I listened to your acts, it's truth, a bunch of truth to telling, right. And a lot of times people will say that women don't like to take responsibility for their actions, right, And some people will argue that specifically black women won't take with possibility for the action. But you go into a Corey
hoke Um show and black women are everywhere. Is that coming to a Corey Hokming show part of taking responsibility for your actions or at least being open to it. It is my opinion that the sisters love to hear the truth. It's just they rejected because they're now used to it. But they like that uncle who tell them what it is for real. They because you know, a lot of them didn't have that male figure around them growing up. They was listening to their mama. People know
the truth when they hear it. Man, even if it's a comedy show, people know what's up. That's why when you come to my shows, ain't it a lot of women there? Beautiful women, A bunch of beautiful women. They want to hear the truth, they really do. Even if they don't like it, they still want to hear it. I was looking around, and you know, I was like, uh, you know, I you know, I'm observing man. You know,
I do this comedy thing for real. So I'm looking around and I'm talking about the jokes where you went hardest. They laugh the hardest. The women was laughing harder than the me. Why do the women laugh harder than the men at your shows? I'm telling you, man, these girls want to hear it. They wanted, they want it. They ain't got it, they don't want to live it, but to come watch it at a show, yeah, you hate that. Good. I remember was that I did a show in California
and this dude, it was just like you. He knows me. He was like, man, when they said your name, that one girl over there, she stood up. I hate him, I hate him, but he said, man, that girl was in there laughing so hard at the jokes he was saying. So I get that. I'm like, they want to hear it, they wanted, and I'm here to give it to him.
So what do you say to people who would call you a woman hater, though those are the woman haters like it'd be guys talk about, man, I can't pring my woman to see you, And I know why you can't read you whoever to see me, because I will undo all that not since you did to her. My show will make her look at things differently. I say things on stage that a woman who ain't never heard this stuff before, she's gonna be like, hmm, you get
what I'm saying. It's gonna make her be like oh wow, m And the guys be on the spot because guys never want to say I ain't gonna bring Guys always say I ain't gonna bring my woman to see you. Man, you'll be talking great. They don't never say Corey, I can't let my woman see what it really is. I can't let my woman see the truth. I got her train to think this way. You know what I'm saying, or at least to accept what I'm doing. It's hard to accept what you're doing after your girl here another
side of the game. The way I put it on stage, that's what made me stand out. But don't women already kind of know the stuff that you're saying already? And what you're saying is pretty much affirmation. Yeah, and I'm glad you you you here's a witness when I say this. Where do you see that on television where women are hearing the truth? Television never tells the truth. Television always makes it seem a certain way. So you're walking in that past where you be, the path where you lost.
That's what television is about. Sometimes on the Internet, you hear people tell the truth. Then they get kicked off the Internet, like my brother fair Goud like you know, isla, guys, I know, man, these people have been banished off the Internet. I'm able to hang on the Internet because I do it in joke form. That's the only reason they came after me, because I'm like, ha, So the people who pressed the kicking off the Internet button, they're like, oh,
they're laughing. Okay, I don't know what to do. This is different saying I'm neo. I'm the one from off the matrix. You know what I'm saying, I'm able to fly through the matrix, which I call the Internet. I do it in joke for him, So ain't came after me yet. But if you listen to some of the things I say, they don't want the sisters thinking like that. Man.
You know, you one of the one of the few comedians who can who can average, who got like a seconds average on jokes laughs, you know, like I got seconds. It's like seconds passed before the next I burst the seconds, not minutes, seconds like you got that. You got that thing. And you have a secret weapon also besides what we know up front on the surface, you have a secret weapon, and that is your expressions. Without saying anything, you can
do an expression. You can just add look at people and they start laughing when you do that expression, Like at what point where you cognisant of that expression? Was gonna be a good little weapon for you. High school, I used to work on them expressions after you say something silly, it's the way you can look and it will make me the last right. So I've been working on this man for a long time. Man, and expressions
means something you get. Like you said, you can win the crowd over with an expression that you make for you say something to be like you know, whatever, how do you do it? It's a it's a thing that people can't take even know people try to take it. Bill Cosby used to have that you know that expression, but that's what he used to this. This this is Bill Cosby. Um, look after he leaves a girl in the hotel, Bill hit them grills with that ship you pay. Yeah,
I think it was common back in the day. It's just they put the brother on the last for it back and you do it in secret though, huh. And you do it like when everybody willie like. He wasn't slipping the house. No, Mickey's man, he was just fine him. I mean they wanted to get high. Yeah, tell especially the last one. They got him sent to jail, the one that looked like Howard Stern. Yeah, like she she was definitely a fucking junkie. I mean, well I can't
say that, but she looked like it. Well, they and that's why they had on TV with the publicity all. This is not a coincidence, man, Everything on TV is a production. Get her, we want her to do it, and let's go in on a close up. And then you saying up there looking like Alexe the Doon. Yeah, pope, yeah, like damn, we want Popeye. We love Popeye. Ho, we love Bill. They sucked up a Bill though, man, get it, old man. All that time for some ship that happened
before his kids was born. It happens, man, But that's sad as him. Absolutely, Camille ain't going away. But see, that's what I'm saying. You can say whatever you want to say about Bill. I watched his woman stayed with him, so that says something about let's say something about her most of the time. Man, these dudes man, maybe with a girl to bail on them soon. It's whatever. Whatever they say A lot about Camille. She didn't bail, right, she didn't bear. I said a lot about her too,
the one dads would have been gone. Whoever she may be, Yeah, yeah like that. Man, do you ever worry about your past? My past? What do you ever worry about some woman from your past, your distant past coming up and saying coreokum did this to me? Or that? No, I don't nobody want to do that. I don't nobody want to do that because it's it's proof of who I am. Like things that I do for people, I have proof of that. Hey, what is that? You know what I'm saying?
What is that? Did never make that phone call? Did you see that? That's these phones? Man? People? Man? That might be them people people, Man, I'm so glad you said that. This happens all the time, man, and they hear you and they see you. I'm smart, turning up smart smartphones stays winning this against you. Many My little brother got in trouble. My little brother is a lame and he out there in Vegas and did some knuckleheads stuff on the phone. I want to go see somebody
to sell him some off phone. Come. Somebody just randomly called him and he and he went to see him about some went to see him to sell him something. I don't even know. The man. I was like, well, what did he moved to Vegas? And he trying to make it you know what I'm saying. I'm like, dog, you can't do that no more them days. It's oh, ain't nobody doing that? Everything you do? This is recording it everything you do. That's why he said. Might be
the people. Yeah, thing you do little people. Yeah, some people. And he went to them people to sell him something that's not even you know, just being lame. He didn't know who who is the celebrity? Uh Like in the last few days. That got me too. For forty five years ago or something, somebody accused him something. Who's that. Do you all remember you got me too? Yeah? What Mario? Mario?
Who Mario looked that up for me? The celebrities singer, No, that's Mario in here, George for George, George, damn Matice to get me to look up the leader of me too? Boy, you ain't seen her? Man? Am I going to have some good ones for? Boy? Was the leader of me too whole life. She was saying, me too, and it was like, you can't go. That's what he came up with me to look up the lady. Yeah, that me too. Stuff ain't no good what they say George foreman did
had sex with some miners? Uh? Okay, so it's a girl thirteen year old and a fifteen year old accused him of having sex with them. He just saw a thirteen year old and fifteen year old accused them and him of having sex with them when he was a young boxer in his twenties and they were thirteen and sixteen, and one of the thirteen year old said he had sex with her up until she was sixteen. That's cold. Somebody can't say that, and you got to try to defend it on the moon, right, They just trying to
train his legacy. You got that money with them grilled, just playing, just playing Double's advocate here. How is that different from us asking for reparations for something that happened four hundred years ago. Um, what happened four hundred years ago is a demonstration that can't be denied. What happened to us and the evidence is that, man, it is
we We were destroyed. So I asked that question just because that was some assholes on social media bringing that up, and I'm like, are you really that's slowing the head that you're comparing slavery to an accusation years ago. Yeah. Yeah, but it's people out there like that, man. They want to come up with something to defend their master. There are people out here who will actually physically fight you
to stay in good standings. Yeah, with the people who have done all the scandle of stuff in the world. Human haters, that's what That's what I heard somebody refer to him. Man, they're human haters. They're the same people that want to cancel Corey hoke them. How do you feel about that and what's the threat level there? Like, do you ever think that at some point they may try to pull the rug from under you the financial rug from under Are they gonna do that? That's gonna
happen one day. But I'm a comedian, so they ain't necessarily they can use me for something like you know what I'm saying, I'm glad they came to me, and and you know they man, everybody act like they won't be an informant or whatever. But when the people got oh yeah, face just really seeing old girl face? What do you think car, that's one of the rock Well I had a baby. That's a joke, k as what I think you are? Kay? That's what is one of
the greatest lyricists ever and people sleep on them. I didn't know it was that big as what a big dude? So the jokes. But you know you look tripped out. But anyway face can talk about your face? Is that is that good? Face can talk about your face? Don't pass. Don't pass that she should she can't leave nothing. Do you know your looks take away from your credibility. If you look a certain way, you cannot stand for nothing. And it'd be credible. Ugly people have it bad in
the world. They give all these fund in the people for everything. They don't have an ugly fun. That should be ugly fun for people. When they show up, they stand out in the negative lights so bad. You know they can't go in there and get a job because of how they look. You wouldn't hire her to do nothing nothing. I wouldn't care if she was the best seamstress in the world, You'll be like, you can't fix my suit because as she looked. Nobody ever said nothing
about this stuff though. That was mean, bro. I but see, the truth always hurts. Yeah, but flat because something is the truth, do you have to be the one to say it? Do you have to say it because it's the truth? I mean everything is not for public consumption, right, No, but yo, somethings have to be said, Some things have to be saying. It's something you just want to be
the ones you just want to say it. She should not be able to lead nothing because when she talks, you're just looking at her face and you're gonna miss all the points. You're gonna be like, look at this thing. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That's a lie. Oh, that is a that is a lot you beauty and not in anyway. People like that can't do nothing. But give compliments to people and smile, then
you would tolerate them. If she was like, Hi, I like your shared it was like that, You'll be okay. But that's I mean, that's somebody fair like somebody, somebody like it, somebody like come on, bro, everybody messing. She a lick, she a lick, she a lick. That is. I'm not talking about her to be mean. It's just God put on this planet to carry a treacherous burden. And I don't really made me trying to be serious and be like this taous. It's a treacherous burden. Face
is not fair. Come on, man, let's wish. And I know I'm terribly mean, but that was very mean. Oh my god, I tell the truth. Voice revoting podcast will be right back after the spoet. How do Corey Hokeum navigate between uh, well, how do you let's put it like this? I don't tell you why it ain't coming out like this. No, No, you trying to sugarcoat and give it to me rang willing names. That ain't sound right. No, I'm trying. I'm trying. I'm trying to listen. I'm trying.
I'm trying. I get you to benefit of doubt. I'm trying to I'm trying to see how to how to Corey Hocum reconcile when being taken seriously serious, when he's serious, and when people are so used to you being funny and these jokes are coming when you sometimes you are dead serious about stuff. People know when I'm serious, they dismiss it because it's easier to dismiss. So are you serious? Come on, man, when you look that lady up? I
was you from the DM. You won't from the d M. She ain't got no d M. Yeah, boom she's mad? He using boom, Yeah, I'm leaving? Did no girl just get um engaged? Lizz O Litten got a bank roll? Did you see what I'm saying? If Lizzo wasn't literally, we can't slide over that shod me cleaning the house hold? On? You'll do what, Brad? She got engaged? No, I said you would do? What if she wasn't engaged? Will you do? What the lizzle? What would you do to little? But
listen about speed? Now? At his age? And what do you know what I'm saying, young Brad? No, but this Brad, y'all people won't even trip on that that that looks good. This Brad? What you what? You listen this, Brad? I love Lizzle. That's my sister. That what people say, that's what sister? That right? Yeah, I don't say that, but at first he was talking of talking about what you do that that might have came out wrong. And you know, um, I want to congratulate her on her engagement. And I
would have did exactly. No, I would have did exactly what I'm doing now sitting in the she congratulating her on her engagement. That's my sister, and I love it. I ain't got that love for it too, But we got to joke about it. I ain't got no jokes for she came to the Lakers game and the throne built like that. You think that ain't nothing that people gonna joke about, even the people. The people. Look, I'm sure that people who told her never to come back
never say nothing about people allowed. But I got to joke about it. I would competent. You show how she built, and she had the Leakers game and the throne. You can't be built like that. Then they showed other women that showed up at the Lakers game and them thrones and people applauded it. But when you built like that, you can't do nothing but be nice to people. I'm okay, this is my time. How fruit toast corn serverbody con. I ain't even look you think i'mbout to show up
at the Legas game with no shirt on. I ain't been fair. I don't be on my discipline game. Let mask this when you say, when you make these inflammatory comments, that ship was inflammatorious. Bro. You gave him that word, you instigating him against me. Say when you say stuff like this, do you have a do you have? Sometimes? Man, maybe I went too for I shouldn't have said that. I've said things where I went too far. You talk, for example, sometimes when we talk a lot, we go
too far because we just talk a lot. We're talking a lot. You know. Here, here's the thing like sometimes will y'all get on stage, man, and I'll be rapping a song, man, and I'll be like, I'll stopped writing them into a song like shot. I shouldn't have said that. You ain't nobody to do through window at night. I wouldn't do that because those songs are not yours anymore. Those songs are the fans, the songs belong to the fans, and they paid if they paid to come see you
don't do a Prince. Let me go. God damnits God free. All of these motherfucker's is coming with me, right, I wrap it today. All of a sudden the ship got solid. No wait wait, he marged, my, my, what he is? You know? All of a sudden she got solid. I remember waking up in a solumn. That's not your verse, okay, and you wouldn't say that to that, you got I
sat on stage. I was like man, I said, in an innocent by standards, watching said an example, I popped one watching the said that it's a it's a different fifty one than than a seventeen year old brad. Okay, I'm not the same guy anymore. So you go listen to Prince when Prince was alive. You go listen to Prince and you don't want to hear darling Nikki. I mean, I like sex, darter Nikki. You don't want to hear man.
You don't. I grew up couple of years she darling NICKI h I'll grew up wanting to fuck darling Nicky. All right, So every girl that meet named nick you want to mash them. Hey man, listen, manze what I didn't say. Evolution? Yeah, it's riveting. People love y'all didn't think I knew that word, did you? You didn't think? Boy, I'll tell you, don't sleep on me. But look, watching you go from that brad to this brad man, that is riveting, and only the real fans got a chance
to see it. It's beautiful actually, watching you go from who you was when you was young and how you trial by era everything through this world and become something that's respectable. Man, that that's beautiful. So only hip crits and and people who just want to have something to say can talk about it. Like even though even though you are who you are and where you come from, that's still a part of you. I would trust you differently than I would when you was a younger, a
younger person. You old enough, you got you, You have seen what can hurt, what can help, all like that, So it's nothing that you did you should regret it. I can look the world in the face and tell them, hey, homie, I ain't gonna be the one to hold you back. But if you take the words I say as I'm entertaining and use that's the only way to you know, shine on me. Then that that showed me who you are.
You are you're the bad guy. Yeah, that's real talk said. Well, when it comes to uh regrets, I think that I think that if a person don't have regrets in life, I think that they're not being genuine because I think that I think that we've all done some things that we regret, you know, like like I when I want of the things I really really really regret is that last fight I had at school that got me kicked
out too much before graduation. I don't really regret that. Well, maybe I don't regret to fight as much as I regret getting kicked out of school. He's uh, man, I got kicked out two months before graduation, man, and I was mad. Why I held a good against my high school for a long time, bro, Because until I until I realized and you know what, man, I did that to myself. Damn self inflicted injuries. I did that to myself. Let's play word association. Corter. It's a presence about you, though,
did you know that? Like there's a presence about you, Like, Okay, I had to fight him. I'm saying like this real thought. You walk and your your demeanor, it's a presence about you, like, yeah, we're gonna fight because you know what it's like, It's like Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder went to jail. Yeah, yeah that's right, motherfucker we bad. Well I'm but but also you know, you know, if I funk with you, I'm stuck with you. So somebody riding on you, they're
riding on me. Right. I've seen this in numerous occasions, like so so needle to say, we've been on Twitter together and ship right, and we've had some ship gapping out on the road, but ship really really don't run and go to this room and clothed or Willy come out there with his shirt off and ship hey man really had pajamas that he used to sleep in, right, and really came out, really came out. And if the jammers the fighting at one time, it was it was
you're sleeping pajama sometimes. Like that's just funny to me that sometimes people coordinate what they go with a B. That's different to me why he would saying no, like no, actually, I like feeling comfortable, man, Like pajamas make me feel comfortable. I get it. Let's pay word association. What's what's the first thing that comes to your mind when I say bb L. Umm, Well, I was gonna say boring to lose. I know what happens with the b b LS as
it's been in your body for a while. I know a girl who got her BBL done, and when she first got it, it was closer to her back. Now that's closer to the bottom of her leg. So boring to lose it. Don't stay like that. But BBL means like, get that tooth on the side fixed before you get your b b L for real. Yeah, you know, if you notice how they always had it tooth missing on the side, put that motherfucker back in right quick. But you know this girl I know who got her BBL,
it changed her life. She got married in there. Now that's why I like, we talked crazy about it and all like that. I'm not mad at But did she stay married after dropped? Well, she didn't stay married because some tragic happened, but she got married. He got Marrid was like, wow, she got a husband with that thing. And that's the type who who who would never have a husband. But but do you get married. But is it that similar to people who seek that that that
instant uh gratification online? Yeah, you know, you got a bunch of likes and stuff, but you just mess your own life. Yeah. But but some people will never shine without that BBL. Have you thought about that? There will be nothing but an average Joe. But the BBL, whether it gets negative attention or positive attention, they're getting attention and that's what they want. Why do people go ahead,
let's definis the word play Joe Biden. I don't know nothing about the man really, except I heard he was a racist back in the day. Ship. If you're back in the day, thank you. Willie Um asked me the word association about Biden. Yeah, I want to hear that he missed it. You know, anybody that's on the fucking anybody's riding the bike and stopping forget to put his legs down, and just is that what happened to him? You got you know what I mean? Like you got
a question like what did we get ourselves into? You say, what we get ourselves into? I mean, come on, man, we don't elect presidents. Man ship elect him having six million votes and have a mini million was the nervous guy, Willie,
the nervouss guy. Man, you want to stand billions and billions and billions, like Trump says, biggions and biggions and biggins and biggins and biggons of dollars to a foreign cut trying and we are going through some ship at home that so um devastating to a community, to a group of people. How dare you send them people overseas that type of money when that type of money could have been used in these underserved communities to build the infrastructure,
you know, and and and employ people in those communities. Man, would do that? They send the money to build infrastructure. No, they they sent this money to help motherfucker fight award that that they're not even in. He didn't send the money though, who sent it? The elites? He just he's just a guy who signed up, man. You know, really and honestly, Man, I don't even know about the elites. That ship is all rumored to me. I you can think,
you come on, it's a I'm riding on. Fact. It is walking out of Air Force one and and filled all the way down to the bottom. That's fact. But but but, but but these you gotta tell you gotta do is look at history, bro, and it'll tell you that the president don't run it. It'll tell you that the president don't run. And so it doesn't matter if he was in office or Trump was in office, that money was going to Ukraine. All right. This is America. This is a war hungry country. And the reason why
war exists in America. The reason why America goes to war is for capitalist capitalism. It is it is for control, it is for land, it is for resources, and it's always for landing resources. It's never for the people. Never. If it was about that, if it was about that, America would be the most harmonious place in the world right now. We wouldn't have all the attention that we had, a race attention that we have. America ain't even got
his own ship together. Every time they go overseas, they go under that overseas under the guise of helping h helping uh, these these people, these poor people, these disadvantaged people, to have a better life. Funk out of here with that, man. I hope nobody in America ever believes that our government really cares about people in foreign lands. But they don't even care about the people in their own land. People want you to be exactly. They're not going to help
nothing here you where they want you to be. And the struggle, and before that war started in Ukraine, people were suffering over there already. It's people suffering in Africa every day. Fuck Ukraine, right, you know what I'm saying. Fuck Ukraine. It's people in Africa all over Africa suffering every day. Ain't doing nothing about that. The women care, the women in Africa by that skin like like it's going out of business. They fucked up too. It's just
you train nothing to say that something is that? Is that? Is that bad? What I said about bad? Look a lot of them, well they sell a lot of that skinting like the creamers. They do, they do, they do. Red Fox one of the best ever talk my funny never meant. Nobody who knew Red Fox who didn't have hilarious stories about him. The lady who played my mother on Black Jesus. Her mother is the lady who played the maid on The Jeffersons. So she was talking about
when she was a young girl. And Red Fox was always late to come on set for his own TV show, And one day he was real late and they was all mad at him, but he's so funny. He was like, I'm sorry, guys, my birthday and I bought a shirt and I bought this girl and they was both too big for me. This is Red Fox man. What are the best ever man? One are the best ever man? Who's your favorite of all time? It's Richard proudly is my favorite. But I know comedians that the hood don't know.
To look up and you will find something funny. Rodney Dangelfield and one of the worst worst comedians ever as far as it go with y'all say not having chill, is Don Rickles. Don Rickles was a bigot, awful person. But listen to his jokes. You'd be like, this boy is foul. You like that? Listen to some old Don Rickles, You're gonna be like what he could say that? No, he did say that, and we'll make it so bad. He's funny, funny guy. Look him up, But Red Fox
find out a motherfucker racists. Ain't nothing gonna be funny. But that's what that's my challenge to you. Yeah, I ain't got nothing say to that. Let's see you shutting it out. You're child and I'm gonna do it. You know what he did, I'm gonna do it. Let's listen to what I'm saying. Man, it's called being on code. Right. Watch this. When Obama was in office, the Republican Party, not just Trump, but the entire Republican Party opposed him at every turn. It didn't matter what he was talking about.
Obama say up, they'd say down. He said spin, they would say save, he would say say, they say spend like he said cold, they say hot. Whatever Obama was fourth, they was against. And they never publicly they never publicly praised him ever, not once. All Right, that's called being on code. So fun done, Rickles in the grave. Listen to him, but I don't care what he says. To listen for the satisfaction of of of having the information. I'll listen for. That's what I tell you that. But
I ain't gonna laugh. I can promise you ain't gonna laugh at it. I'm gonna get on. I'll be on code, bro, because you ain't gonna believe what he's saying. I already know some other ones that done the same thing. And I don't find anything interesting about him. I don't find what I like that about you. I like your militancy when it comes to standing on something like you can't talk crazy like that and expect me to encourage it, but not not just howett this? Not just not encourage it.
But I'm not going to praise it. I'm just not going to praise now as not as a as a person who loves comedy, as a person who is a comedy connoisseur. I can listen and listen to him and say objectively and say, yeah, he got it. What he's saying is funny for his audience or whatever, and people like him or whatever that's funny or whatever. But I'll never publicly praise him. I ain't gonna never you ever hear me giv him a shot and I praise you for that. I never do that. Ship. I praised you
for that, But to me, it's rich. Shout out Scarface, that's fun in the past, shot out Scott two years from him. You may you know this man, this line. Man, I don't know why this dude do this student loans set up set up for what? Because free students should be free education, free bro. It's listen. They put the P P P P loans out there because they got you. If ever something go wrong, they punch you up. Or he got one of them loans. That's what a student
loan was got him. He didn't pay it back. It's the way they could say you owe us if they need to. It's a set up. Speaking of p p P loans, p P p PP loans. I can't mess with him. I don't mess for none of them. I'm set up, just like you said, student loans. If they give you anything, they got you. It's like taking a cigarette in jail from somebody who sticks eight with a taketop home the swow do you want that cigarette? It's the same thing. Cancel culture, hey man, that's that's that.
That's straight foul. People say I'm foul, like I was just joking about whatever I joked about, and y'all said, uh, Corey is no. Cancel culture is worse than anything because it takes away our elites, our talent who actually had the courage to speak on things. They want to speak onme. I mean, like, if somebody's evil, they're evil, but don't
say the truth is evil. M hm. And and a lot of these the people that get canceled right, here's the irony of all of this right use the people that get canceled or the people that people advocate to be canceled. It's being done by people who have accused others of trying to cancel them. H m hmm. We're just talking about all the insecure people, because the insecure people are in charge. The people, the men who sucked me in, they're in charge. It's just you if you
say it, Oh when when? What can you pinpoint an error of time when that it became uh, such a it became so bad to just to accept the truth, like like that was a time when you could say what the truth was. I understand if it's a lot, but if it's the truth, can you point pinpoint a time when it got to be a bad thing to actually acknowledge the truth and accepted and and advocate for the truth. It's just getting worse. People who told the truth are always got in trouble, lost their jobs, have
beat up all that. But in this day and time, it's it's worser than it's ever been. By telling the truth, people look at you, the people will tell you, don't say that. If you could be helping a whole nation get the information they need to move forward, but it'll be people right next to you, the people you hang with them, like, don't say that. Yeah, actually, in America you can actually be murdered telling the truth. I know, Ship, I know this fifty nation that you've got going on,
that's a big deal. Man. How did you come about starting that? When I found out what the cold was? I mean like, do not resuscitated some police code for when they got somebody crazy, that's right, when they know you're crazy, they at all. It's stuck in my head. So when I got a chance to get a look internet show on the Fox Hold with Jamie Fox, I called it the chore because we're crazy and it has grown and what it has grown into, and I'm proud
of what it has grown into. Without major that's dope, bro, super dope. Speaking of um uh, some black history, man, let's talk about some some black history while we're on it. Nice on you. So on this day, September, what happened? You know? That's that Monday? Right? Yeah, it's Monday. Okay, since it's a history of racial injustice, History of racial injustice on Monday, y'all know, if y'all ask some comedians to read this, you will put them on the spot.
I think I can pull this off. Man facing a lawsuit force to attend boarding school hundreds of miles from home, Alaska agrees to build local high school in rural areas for Native American students. The cat said, he to the dog. I was I was lightly intelligent in school. They had me in elite classrooms. But then it took me out because I was silly and put me in the slow room. My mama was up there at the school arguing, y'all
put him in the slow room. The teachers put me in the slow room out of spite because when I talked, I used to be able to talk about them and the whole class and laughs. Damn, did you ever ride on the short bus. I didn't, never had to ride the bus to school, always lived walking distance from the school. But yeahs, yeah, I'm talking about what some kids needed to be in the slow room because they really couldn't keep up. And you know what I'm saying. They put
me in that room. I went from the it was called the Debata club, where I was where you was elite with the with the smart kids. I went from there to the slow room off Spike. That's what I learned. Where people in power don't like you, what they can do to you. They can suck you up when it's all said and done and it's time for you to go and you ain't got no more. How you want
to be remembered, uh, somebody who respected love dearly. I want to be remembered from my legacy of how it went from nothing to something more than anything, because I believe when I'm studied, people are gonna say, man, y'all better do like Corey Hucko did because I'm doing it without Hollywood. Hollywood ain't really man helping me. Man, Listen, I headline tours with people who are on TV every week because they don't want to go on after me. And that is not nothing that you take for granted.
Man to be looked at as elite, but you're not giving that publicity that they get on television. I worked the club in Atlanta last week. They was talking about this one girl. Of course I won't say her name, but it was like, yeah, she on TV twice a week and she couldn't even say on no ticket you down here with the whole place sold out for the whole weekend. And I'm like you know, man, one day I give my credit for being who I am. I'm one of the real goals of the game in comedy.
It's just I can't say it. I'm saying it now, which is kind of like yeah, but you know, I know who I am and I know what I do. I'm glad you said it, though, man, because it just Man, it's just opened up something here. You to be able to be cognizant of that, knowing with your you know, the space that you take up, the space that you occupy, what you've done. I never thought about it. But you are going to be steady. I mean, you are one
of the goats. You are because, like I say, you average jokes by the second your ship is bust like like continue it was back back. It ain't a lot of comedians period. I probably can count on one hand that could do that. That's That's that's some great ship. That who Man, who can do it? You actually give you fire. I'm gonna give you. I'm gonna give you fire that I think can do it. I can do it. I mean no, now I can do it. But I'm gonna tell you I get it. They can do it.
They can do it. They can do it. Uh, Richard Pryor could do it. Okay, Red Fox could do it. Um you see? Um? Can I tell you something about Corey Holcom. You can be overexposed in this game. I've been doing the show over ten years. If you do, if you talk too much, you can over expose yourself. I too much, but it helped me. This is what people ain't really thinking about. You can over if if a lot of these comedians was on air every week,
people will be I'm tired of him. It grows with me because they don't know what I'm gonna come with, Because I think the truth is infinite. You could keep coming with stuff to make people go, like what happened at the club? Like, I ain't trying to take one incident and turn it into a destroyer a relationship with a guy. But things that happened at the club this week needs to be talked about because this is my Hollywood. What happened at the week before we go? What happened
at the club? You saw what happened. What happened Well, I got into a u altercation with a with a with a fellow headliner, somebody who I think is uh funny. I think I think he's funny, but um, you know he got a problem where he can't control his um substance. And you know he can aim into my house on the weekend when I was working and he did too much trying to take over my green room and everything, so he can, you know, do what he do and
all like that. And I'm saying, like, there are people who love to hear this information the way I say this information, and I have to do these things because this is my CNN when I do the fifty or fifty show, because more people watch it than you think. They just can't claim it. Just like you know you said when I say what I said about Lizzo or whatever. I understand y'all was saying core you bogled. But I'm saying, people, Jerry Springer is still on the air for a reason. Man.
There's clips of you show all over the internet. I'm talking about back to back to back to back to back. Just a week ago, I probably watched a good hour to half two hours of just clips where you just going in and I'm just talking about my time that I have from traveling around this nation and the adventures, misadventures everything. Man, people want to hear it. So you know what I'm saying, It's like I don't have the
Hollywood weapon to use against everybody. I want the Hollywood weapon because once you, once Hollywood started messing with you and you were certain and you and you're a certain talent level, you be gone. They can't do nothing with you after that. If you if you really got the talent. You know what I'm saying, Once you get the exposure from Hollywood, you gone and Hollywood can't control you. Know how often have you been for people considered booking you
for a show or whatever. They say, you know what, we can't put Corey hook them on that because we got this gown that because you be bumping his with a lot of comedians, you call a lot of comedians out. So but what I'm saying, though, is that if a comedian is does have a television show, move a film or whatever, and they're the guy with the big name or whatever, how often do you think that you get pushed pushed out? Because I get pushed out. But when
I'm around people, I treat people good. I'm a gentleman. But if you cross me, it's my opportunity to be this other guy to you that I know you're not gonna like so you don't even you don't concern you. I can't fix that because Willie d Look, if you do me foul, it releases something in my mind when I see you and I'm like more loose, I'm like, this is my fucking know what I'm saying and I can't help itt this mother, I can't outlet. I can't help it. Man, this is me and I'm proud to
be that dude. Which ship. We funk with you, man, and we can't help it. Man. Thank you for coming on the show. Funk with your too. Man. I had a ball. This is this is everything you did. No more talk all right, love baby for real. This episode was produced by Aching and brought to you by The Black Effect Podcast Network and I Heart Radio
