I am back with cat Madgorie. Y'all heard her on Monday. We talked about how important the journey of sobriety is, how powerful it is. She has a podcast called clear Headed Your Sober Self Care podcast. You are in host an actor, comedian. You have been in the big middle of the entertainment industry as myself. You are almost to your sobers congratulations. I am almost a hair sober and we just talked about on Monday. If you haven't listened to this episode, I highly encourage you to go back

to it. We talked about all of the feelings you feel like getting sober, but the tic tick takes too when you know your bomb is about to explode and you need to change your life. How it is so

scary to change your life. But then, what is on the other side of sobriety, What is on the other side of actually stepping into your full self and looking at yourself head on and claiming and owning who you are and who you're meant to be and having that just like knowing you are capable to live this incredible life. But then we also talked about triggers in dealing with them, and resources and the realness of it, and it is hard. Sometimes you wake up and you're like, this is absolutely terrible,

Like I don't want to do this. So I was fine, I don't really, I don't have a problem, you know, or you might not have a problem. Maybe you're just tired of being hungover. The whole thing. We covered it. You have so much wisdom and resources and so and life experience and you did it. You're just a powerhouse showing the way, Kate, and it is so awesome to

have you here. And so you're gonna talk to us a little bit today about how to raise your bar and not in life, but also like your bark cart in your house, Like how can we still have fun being sober? Let's talk about it. Oh my gosh, let's talk about it. Well, the ritual of drinking is so such a big weight in people's um choice to get sober, and I think that people really miss having a good drink.

So I want to tell you about how to raise your bar in your house so that you can still have friends over, you can still do a happy hour, and it's going to actually be a happier hour because you're not gonna wake up feeling crummy. The next day. UM. Number one to a really good bar cart is go out and get some really good glassware. C you two

has amazing glassware. Just treat yourself with two new special glasses that you will put on display on your bar cart that you make your non out drinks in that you love and you look forward to holding and sipping from, because really the experience of having a drink is what people miss. Um. The second thing is get a really good one to one alcohol free replacement. I love free spirits. It was crafted in um with like the palette of the spirit that it is mimicking in mind. So the

tequila has the same warmth of tequila. The bourbon has the same vanilla aspect to it. Um, do you want to say that alcohol free replacements can be triggering, So if you feel like it's not your jive, then pour it out. Don't worry about it. There are tons of other uh alcohol free drinks you can can put on your bar cart that don't taste or mimic the taste of alcohol, Like can you forks ken is so great? It's ken is so good the cans and you can

take it from the bar cart to the fridge. Go get a bunch of cans of some stuff like they swaw has cans, kN has cans, Surely has cans. Surely is a great alcohol free wine. You have a rose, they have a pinot, they have a sparkling m brute. That's all great, and all of these bottles just look really gorgeous on your bar cart, and you really don't feel like you're missing out on anything. You're actually gaining so much because you're gaining the memory of the night

while you're sipping with friends. If you wanna go and and check out any other alcohol free alternatives, there are a couple of great sites. Buss Slants Bosson is a shop that's based in New York, but they do shipping as Boisson bo I S S O n Um. They're based in New York. They just opened a couple of shops in l A. But if you aren't in New York or l A, you can check out Better Roads b E T T E R R H O D E S. They ship all over the US, and it's an alcohol free site, so you don't have to go

into bedmo passa tequila. You can just browse and knowing that everything is alcohol free, still really pretty and still will help you make a really good drink and raise the bar in your house. I love it so much. This is such an important conversation we had today. If you are anyone like really it's a youth thing, not anyone you know. If you feel like you are ready to make this change, definitely go listen to our podcast

on Monday. Kate offers so much wisdom and resources, and check out her podcast clear Headed and know that you can do this. You are not too far gone. It is not too late. Your life is not like you haven't blown even if you think you've blown up your life, like, you can make the change. You can choose this. You can have this life and it is terrifying and intimidating, but also it's awesome. Like I'm almost a year sober, you're almost two years sober, and it is really really

liberating to live this way. And there's a whole freaking community of people who've made this choice and you can be in on it. And so just keep exploring this. If you're curious, keep getting curious, keep looking for resources, keep looking for people who have done it. You can do it too.
