Carala. She's a queen of talking. He was sown. She's only side. You got the scoop on on the on side. No one can do with clid my Carala, Carola, No one can do within Cli Carali Carola. Hey, y'all, welcome to Hyper Caroline Hobby. I am your host, Caroline Hobby. I know music, I know people, and I know the questions you want to ask. So let's get Hyper heads up. These are adults having adult conversations, so there could be adult content this episode. I have a thousand horses joining me,

and I'm so stoked they're here. They had a big hit last year called Smoke. They're on tour currently with Jason al Dean and they're basically a band of brothers. They've been friends since they were just kids, and I happen to be married to the lead singer. So I'm so excited to welcome a thousand horses to the show. I'm here, I'm here with the chasing horses. Don't look at my questions, Bill, don't many questions? Do I tweeting?

I'm cheating? Don't tweet tweeting cheating? So you guys get that, Like, here comes the champage. Here comes the herd of horses. Here stamped a lot Kessie ballerin. He said that she snapchatted us, she called Bibbs. Who did she call DIBs on? And then well we got snapchatting on the snapchat horse train. She got us walking down there. We looked pretty good. Yeah, I mean pretty horse. That's pretty regular. So what are their usuals? I mean, that's too many horses. Where's the

other nine? A long face always, you're gonna really stick this place up with swe How are you going to fit all those horses on stage? Called a thousand cowboys? Butever, yeah, this is before anything. We're opening up for Kitmore in Boston and huge show. Great night for us because it was a shipload of people and it was like a big i mean just sold out and we're like, yeah, high five and in the radio we're DJ whatever from

the whatever the show was. When I'm there and said, y'all give it that that for a thousand cowboys and we were like from the crowd. The crowd they got, which I was like, yeah, Boston, move this man. Okay, so we're with a thousand horses and yeah, you can cuss. This is a podcast. So say all the cusser do you want to do right now? I don't want to know. I usually I don't really take that. That's a straight late sky in the I don't. I don't try to

sell right. Do you know you don't have any own then to come out you you don't have to celebrate you want to celebrate it, frank, Okay, I want to start off with a little bit of some games. I can't. I can't hope. You cannot look like a TV on a bar for me. I just like dude to it. Okay, if you could have one thing forever in an unlimited amount, what would it be? Money? Cash, cold hard cash. You didn't even hesitate. I could saw you know you can. You can do a lot of things, but unlimited money.

I'll take wishes from a g D because that's something better than one. Good is that if something money can, I could buy your genie magical and magical wishes from a genie. You could wish for like to do it fly. I would want a starship to take me all over the universe. You'd have an unlimited but you would need my unlimited money supply to make or I could just get a gen into I can just like but Zach could grant grant. He could grant Graham a wish from

his genie so he could fly. And I would just say, on your cash, because Jack's got a gene Also, I can take all your wishes with my Genie. Actually, what do you think this is the genie trump card? Okay, Genie, though you could wish for unlimited money, I would say yeah. I would say unlimited wishes from Genie would be the old Okay, and I'm starting to shoot holes in this time. I don't think I can tark is leaking wishes from yes, only a psychopath and think of that. That's cool, it's great,

that's cool, it's good. Okay. Boxers are briefs. Definitely boxer briefs, that boxer breefe. So take them combined them by them? Will they make a hybrid? Now it's called a trunk. Is that is that what I'm wearing. It's definitely holding the trunk and how they do a boxer breefe. Oh my gosh, it's similar to eight boxer brief It's just you know, there's always bunch of leg I think I can say too, I might be one of the only women who have seen all of y'all in your underwear.

You're the only interview we've done. Where are you? I don't seen this literally, don't have to be nervous and pictures because I know exactly what that looks like. You know exactly what kind of where I do. I watched your underwear. I'm married to Michael. Pretty listening. We're married, but we're taking this serious. We are because I was gonna ask you, are you you know, cooking up on the road. Yeah, all the time when my wife's out hooking up and yeah, barking up, hooking up people with

other people. Yeah, people with tickets all the time, people up with tickets. So a lot of hook ups. It's not what one would think. Yeah, have any of your offen to jail? You to jail? What? Absolutely? How did I missed this story? Well? I went to jail. I went to the Atlanta City jail for a nw yousca. There was that fine fun. Oh it was great. Yeah, I mean it was great. It was I didn't you know, I didn't really do anything. So I was there and I was like, it's gonna be fine because I didn't

really do anything. So why did you go to jail. It's a long story. I got jumped by a club owner at after a show we played and they got out of hand. They had the things got out of hand. We had the big band fight with the bartenders in the club. This yeah, before this is it sounds like a scene from a movie. It was, it was. This also sounds like a likely story. She tapped to coke

bottles together too. Yeah. Absolutely. They ran and got their in house cops, so he was on their payroll and he said, hey, this guy heavy and they took me to jail. Did you hit him first? He jumped on me and I threw him on the ground, like, didn't you have to go to but you got arrested in floor to see. Well, that's a different you've been one of than I went to jail and Mike without my shirt on to the Atlanta City jail. It was awesome.

That's pretty rough. No, I didn't. But when I walked around the corner of the entire room of like Pete, there was like three hundred dudes in there, and they go, rus So, what do you do? Oh? They thought they were to call me Russell brand oh here at the time, and it was Russell what did you brand? They were like, rus, So, what do you do? Man? Oh the freaked out that's kind of awesome. Jail. I've never seen that you got a tattooed? What was someone? I always want? I was

curious about something. I was always I'm not curious. I was. I was a little taken aback because the cops were treating me like a criminal, and I was like, why are you treating me like a criminal? Man, I'm just like, what kind of know why I'm in here? I'm just a long asshole. It's not supposed to be in here. Someone's gonna come get you soon. This is not where I think had breakfast there. They gave me a blowny sandwich and an apple sauce, a jail food. Yeah, that's

pretty He was getting into his role. So by that point I was like starting to accept. I'm like, well, I'm just in jail now. I'm like, I'm here. I'm just like, did they did they give you a shirt to put our making friends? Did you stay topless? They gave me a hospital account to put on. So I was a real psychopath and that might have worked. Be in your favorite Actually that you looked like a real crazy person I went up next to, like the biggest

guy I could find. It was all he was all bloody and he was like I punched the Kings of Leon concert Man was all right, cool, I'm crazy. I don't miss with me. You don't even want to know what I did. So you're glad you got it off your buck list. Yeah, exactly is. I got it off my book he list. I don't need to do it again. Okay, okay, if you guys had someone film a movie about a thousand horses, who would play off? You can speak for each other too, Rad Pit obviously, Brad Pitt, my grandpa

would be. I think Leo for you, Leo to Catherine be Greg great big fans of both. Yeah, clearly Russell Brand for you, Zack. Jason Lee is gonna have to play Yeah that's true. Or Dave Girl but he's not an actor. Yeah, just get Jason Lee and his almost famous character. Just do that all over again to what's the guy? What's the guy did you build the home? Uh? Honey, our shunk kids? What's his name? The dad? I was

gonna say, Jason Startzman. Actually he'd be good, Yeah, he'd be good'd be really good Jason will be a great met have the rock makes sense? That makes sense, makes sense? You would get who would be Zack? See Miles Taylor could be a good Zack. Who's most teller? The guy from foot Loose and Bash? Okay, we just go with John Stamos. You'll be six John, Uncle, Jesse, j Messie. I'm really excited about the new full House too. It's Netflix. You guys have did a little videos on your Instagram

about this. I want to do it on my podcast. Tell me the first thing. Don't repeat what you said on the Instagram. Tell me the first thing that comes to mind about each band member. Everyone? Do you build first? Messi? Messi? The first word that comes to mind about Michael? I don't know, come wordless Martini? Martini? Michael start calling you know Martini, Mike, it's a bad nickname. Actually, all right, what about Graham? Don't even say what Martini? That's it Martini.

Let's see what else we That is my word. I don't know exactly I'm doing. It's because that one of Martini. Right now? What we are in bom Yeah, the bowl of you're a hat guy, Think about a hat Martini. They're gonna be a hat, Martini hat, tiny hat, Mike, I remember what I said. I don't either. He said he like the party. No, we said he liked a party. Power powerful Michael, You're powerful. Thanks. Guys like so much

drunk hat powerful guy. Let's boy bringing on China. Graham is like a He's like a docile creature that lives in the woods. Okay, okay, live in the woods. I'm like alf or something. I like that. That sounds magical. I think bear, which a bear lives in the woods, like you're you're at we're woods. Yeah, I should we start calling you win outdoors a kind of guy. You wood, I'm kind of furry, and you're kind of like a dog whispering Martini Mike woods nasty we go. Okay, what

we got for Zack? I would say, like maniac, that's a good word, not a bad way. Yeah. Hawk all seeing us really but really aggressive. Okay, So you guys just got a whole new slew of nicknames. True. Okay, So let's start with the band. Y'all formed a thousand horses and two ten two tiny and you have been playing advan since your kid kids, I know, Bill and Graham, y'all our first cousins. We are and Michael and Bill. You guys were up in a Newberry together. So in Zach,

you're in Atlanta. You came on board a little bit later. How did you three get together and decide you're gonna do music? Because it happened early on. Bill and I met a music store and we would just meet there. There's nothing else to do in our town, so we'd meet there every day and us played every guitar in the place and trying to teach. I mean, we would. We were learning guitar at the same time. So that's how we our musical relationships started. And then Graham would

come up every summer. He was into music, so we would sit in steel beers out of Bill's dad's refrigerator. OBUs that fridge keeps the coldest, the coldest. It's from the seventies and they made him different back then. It's literally been running for since the seventies. But you know, so we would we would listen to records and play music together then and then uh build I move in Nashville in two five. Graham moved in two thousand six. We met Zack in two thousand ten through a mutual

friend and that's when we formed a thousand horses. So why Nashville over l A? Did you guys started off more like Southern rock ish at Southern rock Country. I'm still Southern rock. Well I think that Nashville, you know. Still it was closer to home than l A. Yeah you know I said that helped. Yeah. Um, And we met a guy who wanted to record it. So that's why we came to town. And Bill and I just came to town. We thought we were gonna be here for a month, and you know, ten years later, I'm

still here. And you guys skipped on college. I'll send a piece out. You got out of high So didn't you like graduate high school from Nashville or something? Yeah, well, I finished high school with the internet. I was an amazing student, so I had very high grades and they just you know, I just finished high school with internet. It's all good again. And Michael, you sweet talked your way through a passing high high school, didn't You may have been persuasive? Yeah, oh yeah, okay, So then I'll

scooped him Zack. Scooped up Zack and ice cream skip him up. You're the cherry on top. I'm like what happened once you offer got together? Well, we went to Los Angeles together to make an EP because were signing the Interscope at the time. It's our first record deal. And that's around that Dave Cobb, And that's where we met Dave Cobb, who's uh now he's on fire ch this week for a Grammy. Yeah, so you guys start

the horses start at his trend. I'd like I'd like to say that we gave him a jump starm, but yeah, and we actually that's how we got to know each other as by living together in a hotel in Los Angeles for three or four weeks and yeah, drafted on graft and some martinis and a couple of tequila sunrises. Yeah. During that time, y'all had a song and the movie Footless. We did suicide Eyes in the movie Footloose, which was a big win. Yeah, that was cool. Go to a

movie premier. Those are only still early movie and we need more movies. Team. I don't even we got the theme song for Gainesville. We didn't get to go with it. Okay, I've never even been to Gamesman. C MT needs to fly me to games justices. See, you guys are on the road for a long time, like in a van. Oh yeah, what did that look like? How long? And what it was? Van life like like my body still remains it was it was equally as much fun as it was like grueling ruling, where yeah it was all funny.

We were sleeping like it was a dead winter in Toronto and we were all sleeping in the van like on the street. I mean there's like people on us like party and all night and on the floor because the f when it was cold, the floor would get hot. You couldn't even afford a hotel. No not Sometimes the first tour for a hundred dollars a night dollars Taylor Mobson the pretty Reckless reckless and they were super awesome. They were then helps out because they would give us

like their bus driver's room. So we'd like, you've been a dirty bed whatever, but you know, it's a hundred dollars and I don't even know how we did it. We would eat whatever they after the year. Um, there was a time that I mean, I do remember the time in my life that was like when we were like willingly like eat off of the people's place. You finish that saying actually true and if we got a hotel room, which we always got, we would get their bus driver's hotel room, which was super cool them to

give us. And it's just one big king bed, so like three of us would sleep in a bed exact would sleep on the floor another and we just take the sheets off of the bed and just sleep on the naked mattress, which is almost worse. That's almost worse. There's there's bed bugs and mines and stuff. Oh yeah, we lived. What do they say of bed gains, like ten pounds a years or a pound a year because it's your all, your skin and stuff, so your mattress gets here. So think about how gross those matches are

with all those different people, you know, a lot. We we also like came up with a lot of ideas in that van, Like being in that place was motivating to be in a better place. So you're always i mean it's almost like a think tank. Every day. Yeah you trapped Foresight, you're driving Space and yeah you're driving to you know, five to ten hours every day you talk. We never listened to the radio. We always just talked

because the radio didn't work. The radio didn't work. Now we had the radio worked, you ever had one speaker, one speaker on the drunk forward to fix it. So we're like ship, all right, this was a pretty iPhone too, No, we had my phone would not. This is before the wheel was invented. Else. The funny thing about the van is we um so before we got signed. So taking eighty four you have to record deals, is that what you're talking about. We got some of the big machine.

This was like three years ago. We we went in with Dave and we were like, Dave, let's you know. We we had we had been you know, we've gotten Cia to book us, and we had managers and we're like, let's go and we've got these awesome new songs and like, you know, a few people that didn't know us were like music and we're digging the new songs live. So we're like, let's just put out another EP down. We can come up with ten grand and fifteen year or

whatever it costs to make this whole thing. We did a kick storder and uh yeah, we did a kick We did a kick one of the This is after that. After remember when we got in the van. Yeah, the man, We're like, we gotta make a record. So we were like how much money would it take to make an album? And Dave was like, well, I don't really even give a ship, just pay for yours. No, he did it for much, pay for a keyboard player to come in, and like, um, so we were on the phone. I

never forget. We started the album at Dave's house and we were between takes. We would be on the phone with credit card companies, all of us trying, yeah, like five thousand dollars here, and like Zach was like our big bank, We're like computer to get the big one because because of yours. But they told him no, it's just like they told us. So we finally getting approved enough for a little bit of money cash from the bank, and then our manager was like, well I'll throw it

in with you. So we come together with this money, make this album, getting ready to pump it out. It's mastered. Then our manager, Big Machine, heard it and signed us, so you guys are going to put it out independently. We our goal was like we can sell two thousand copies of this thing and make our money back, you know, in a year. Like we can't do that in a year, and then we gotta you know, hand to hand, just

just rocking it. Yeah, and we had tours. Sea was keeping us out on the road, so that was another great thing, is like we had dates in front of us,

no intention of getting a record obviously actually trying. I mean, no, we wanted to put like we were like, you know, our goals, you know, two thousand copies, we pay everything back, everything after that that's still in the band, you know, and we went out and then yeah, that that that decision to make an album is why we have a record deal and why we are where we are right now. And that's kind of a big decision because a lot

of people are scared to do an independent album. A lot of people are scared not to have a big label behind that I'm trying to say, and that like the band, as always, we've figured out that the the it's it's best just to do what you think is natural. And like, yeah, we were like, well we have to have music, let's just put it out. I mean, what's

it gonna hurt? Yeah, yeah exactly, I mean what yeah, Okay, It's just honestly, it's a fearless mentality because you mean, you're right, a lot of a lot of people don't want to take that risk to be in a financial crunch or a situation. But we've never really thought that way. We've always been like, how can we move them forward? When you can make a hundred dollars a night work, you can make anything works, you know what I mean

when it comes to being out on the roads. So and we knew we were just like just doing nothing right. You gotta do things with your life. With your life, you're sitting around way, we don't know any how to do anything else. So like what I mean, Like I'd worked for Zach to make extra side money in his photo these you have a photo company, Yeah, I started a photo with the company ZA so I could play

your pants I started. I was like, one be on the road and play music and not have to get at nine five yeah, exactly have enough money to eat. I was Dave's like for a while. Yeah, Daves like studio rat studio. Yeah. I was basically like going and he'd be like, hey, call me for like, for instance, like I did the Jayson Vizibol Like I was like the runner or assistant or whatever guy Jason record the

Jayson Nisible record Southeastern That's kind of awesome. Yeah. He was like just coming and like you know in the bathrooms, like bring breakfast in the morning and like get their lunch orders. Like I remember I went picked up like Jason's tucks for his wedding and like really yeah re strong guitar. And then I would like when they were recording, I would go in there and like watch him from the control room. It was amazingment. So you saw the album, Yeah,

he's in the credit. I didn't see all of that. Tom Petty. Tom Petty read his name. I'm sure we think at least he tweeted the album the picture of it too, and Bill's names right there almost connected. Tomty, yeah, Derees Tom Petty might have read. But you know that's the thing about the family of it all in the community.

But it was like we all helped each other where we could help each other, like at any given point, I mean, you know, Dave didn't have to let build a sound just for Jason his belt, and Zack didn't have to have You knew I needed money, so he just gave me some work. Yeah, and he didn't have to give me cash to run photo of it was just kind of like what do you want come hang out? So you guys have just been trying to make it work financially until those music they could take off. We're

still trying to make work. That is a big myth. Everyone thinks you have like a big hit and all of a sudden you're driving on Jaguars flying private. What's the real truth? Two ferraris Well, the overhead goes up. Costs a lot of money to be on the road. Yeah, we got a crew, you got a buss, We've got the whole thing. So, I mean it works like any other business. You know. You we've gotten to a point where we've scaled up now. So yeah, like he said,

the overhead goes up. I mean things change in different ways. I mean we're not sleeping on hotel from floor an I'll say that. Yeah, quality of life. Life is the best. Yeah, I mean it's the closest thing to teleportation that exists on your boss. You fall asleep and you wake up in a new place, better than like flying. It's awesome. Yeah, we love our bus. That's the best party, so I heard. Actually, I think I'm witnessed Michael. You had a night terror

one time and you tried to remove Zack from his bunk. Uh, because you know, you sleep in a little coffin, and I don't. I'm claustrophobics, so I don't like small spaces. And I apparently had a pretty tense stream and thought I was trapped, and I literally pushed the bunk Zack above me out of the grooves and Zack jumps out, thinking he killed me the bunk had collapsed. Then just didn't my bunk is falling because that's gonna hurt bad. He wakes me up from it and he's like, are

you all right? And I was like yeah, before for anybody listening, and it doesn't know when you're like a bunk on a bus is like a small hallway and they're like bunk beds, but they they there's three there's six on each side, you know, three from bo on the top, and they kind of like, I guess, snap into place. So if you push up And the only thing that kept that from actually coming down on me

was the plug your cell phone. That's scary because we just we just went back to Ben and we woke up and like his bucks sitting like Cy was and angling Kevin, and our bus driver was like, what in the fund did you do? So we fixed it, but yeah, it was a little night here. So you guys have made a lot of friends along the way. Y'all toured with Lick too, and they're your big buddies. How was

that tour? It was awesome there, That was a great tour. Um. They really helped us out a lot in that time period when we we had lost our record doing our management and book engagent. They were coming back to do a big reunion tour and they were like, well, you guys are gonna come with us, which helped us get you know, our ci A. I lost your record at all time with Interscope originally. Yeah, yes, we felt there, that felt free. This was five six years ago. Um

actually know what four years ago? Um? Yeah, And we toured with those guys all summer which was an absolute blast. Yeah, and uh yeah they're awesome. So did you guys think your life was over when your Interscope deal fell through? I mean, it's it's disappointing, naturally, you know when you have something that you're at it about and you lose it, And but I mean I feel like we didn't want

to let that slow us down. We just said, well, let's figure out another way to do I mean at that point in the in the in the face of failure in your eyes, even though it wasn't failure at all, it was just you know, the circum the circumstances, you know. That's in my opinion, that's when like you really regroup and you really focus it on, like, Okay, what else am I going to do? And how am I going to do it? And how am I going to be better?

Because it's gonna can't let one thing stop you. A few bumps in the road stop you from your dream. That's a big bump. Though a lot of people might turn around and say, well, shoot, it's over, you know, honestly, I think it was a good thing. It gave us time to kind of like it let up that journey

that path led us to here. It took us here, and it gave us time to figure out like what we're doing, how we wanted to do it, what our musical approach was, what you know, like it was like a developmental period and that's the independent album, yes, and that's yeah, that's when we made our record. We made an EP and we made a record. We did I mean, we did whatever it took to continue on our dream and what we want to do so, Quitting music has never been an option. No, no quit, Like, be honest,

I didn't like setting up photo this. We actually we actually actually we didn't have a good sign that one term. Okay, so you said it led you here. Two thousand and fifteen, you guys have a huge year, the highest day, highest debuting single from a new act of all times. You sign with you signed, no not if you signed with Big Machine Records. You put out the single Smoke and it daveus at twenty eight on the charts. Would you believe this? Like what are you all thinking? It was

super crazy? Um? Yeah, we didn't no idea what to expect. I mean, the label kept saying, they're like, well, you know, I mean to get it in the top thirty. It's like, that's that's gonna be tough. And then after you know, after that, it's just up to the people if they like it, you know, if they're buying it and they dig the song. And then it debuted at and we're like, what does that mean? You set a record taka what would you now? You know, for us, that's the biggest

thing we were done. So we were like, you know, um and a lot of people were scared of you guys, Like no one wanted to necessarily sign you guys and tell Jimmy Hardon because you have a new sound we're starting.

We had, Yeah, we we we definitely were shopped around a little bit, and you know we thought, you know, that was the crazy thing to do along face Yeah, well we kind of wanted to, like, you know, and that was one reason we made our own album is it was like, you know, we there's no sense and we didn't feel like necessarily we needed waiting weight on anybody, you know, so we kind of thought, well, let's just make our own album and put it out ourselves, and

you know, if somebody coming along magically, it's like we get a record, Dealdy'll be great, you know. But other than that, there's somebody will just keep our head down and do our own thing. And then you know, we met Jimmy Harnon and they've been you know great, yeh yeah, I mean he's amazing and the whole lay was amazing where she is amazing. That how that label runs and the support they put behind their artists is like nothing

I've ever seen. Don't read no, I just stopped. Okay, so on your label is Taylor Swift only the biggest act of all Swift do you guys have Thomas Rhett we are touring with right now, which is awesome. How's that tour going to Jason Anti and Thomas? It's the best. It's one of the biggest tours we've ever been a part of, and the biggest tour we've been a part of. It's amazing. Jason's incredible. His performance is incredible every night.

He's a great guy. Thomas is the same thing, and he's you know, to see where he's at and to see where you know, it's like, that's the dream, that's the goal. So it's been an amazing you know, first month out whatever you're doing. So y'all toward a dairyus Harker all last year telling the difference between the two tours, What have you learned from both tours or what are you learning from Jason Ati? Have you learned from Darius?

You know, Darius was awesome because he taught us and he's such a great guy and he's such a humble, uh individual, and you know he's been a superstar for thirty years. It's crazy and you would never know it, you know, and his he like he made everything like a team everything like everybody's out here together kind of thing. And he really taught you how to be a humble, nice person even when you're hugely successful. So that's the one thing it taught me about. It was how to

treat people, you know, no matter who they are. A romance, a little brand boots. The guy literally put the shoes on my feet him. Yeah, I don't know. He told me one time, he said that he was such good friends with his bass player and Hoodie and the Blowfish and he was like, I don't know, I just have a thing with bass players. Say, I don't know if he automatic yeah, the first year you choose yeah, now, but he's awesome. He's incredible. He treated us all amazing.

I mean, he's a badass. What's the tour like with Jason and Thomas, the difference, it's amazing. Well, it's were we just started. We just started, so yeah, we're all still in the process of getting to know each other. It wasn't surprising thing, you know, I don't know if it's surprising or what. But like with Jason, I don't know what I was expecting, but you know, you get

compared to Darius. I mean he's like, you know, only even doing it for what ten years, just still you know he's obviously you made it to the top level here. But you know, it's cool to hear him talk about he's like still excited about you know, he's like, tell us about how we're going to play, you know, two nights at Fenway Park, and he's super excited himself. He's

like this gets awesome, you know. And and the stories he shares, the stories he shares with like when he was doing clubs, yeah, oh yeah, Like we've all played a lot in the same places. Like you know, it's like that's that's kind of like the he's the difference. So but I mean he's just and he's I feel like he's still very clearly remembers all that stuff because it was not that long ago. You know, he was like, oh,

you're from Savannah, Georgia. Oh, man in the Roundhouse, you know I played there one time, opened up for Kenney Chisney. That was the coolest thing ever. I'm like, man, that's crazy. Like now we're we're like him opening up for him, you know what I mean. When he was where he was like we feel that, like it's like, man, I can't believe him out here with the opening him for Jason Aldean every night, like yeah, starting the show out. So don't you guys have some connection to dayson concert?

Bill and I went and saw him in two thousand five when we first moved to town. He was he was on the Rascal Flat story at that point and we knew the drummer rich Redmond, who still plays with him, and Richard was like, I'll come to the show in South Carolina. We drove home in South Carolina and went and uh, and that was our first Al Deane experience. I was right when Higtown was and popping, and now you're opening for him now ten years later. Whe his

we're his first of three act. So you guys are nominated for CMT Award and y'all got to play the stage for the Emerging Acts. That was awesome. There's a Group of the Year video Best Video Videos of the Video of the Year and now you're nominated for an a c M that's new group. Can you believe this is happening? It's it's crazy, it's pretty insane. We weren't expecting, you know, we obviously I want to get nominate, it would be amazing, but we weren't really we weren't expecting

it and it was a huge surprise. So we're so excited about it. Vegas in Vegas. Who were guys gonna do? Go in win More? Oh gosh, who wanted to be? There's obviously so many three we're just hot to be a part of be in the category of be nominated. Yeah, okay, So you have a new single, Southern Reality. That's a made up word. What does it mean? Compound words, compound word,

Southern personality. So we just kind of combided in the Southern Reality, which basically that song is about just like things we saw and observed growing up in the South. I mean we're from South Carolina and Georgia. It uh, you know, so with that culture and that is, but it's mostly just about being proud of who you are and where you're from, no matter where it is. I mean, you know, we just used things in imagery of what we grew up you know, being yeah, um sweet tea,

laid back. You know, there's a lot of that everywhere in my opinion, and we're starting to have a kind of you know, the past, the passage singles or it kind of like more than the tip style to go into the summer in this tour with like a play song and like, you know, kind of like an anthem type of thing is what we want. One thing I forgot to mention about the new Stroy you're on. You guys play basketball with Jason Lay and Thomas right off teams.

We do. We just started playing basketball every day. We're really bad. I don't think we're the tallest ones, but we're the worst ones. They're like the cool kids over they're playing like for real and we're in the corner plot you know, knockout force or they all got there like Nike high tops and stuff, and I'm like wearing umbros and we're laughing. We're looking at the gym. Yeah, we're a little out of place, but we're we're getting there.

We're getting there. I'm kind of fired. Hopefully by the summer, we can you know, really step our game up, start studying some game tape. Yeah fillment. Okay, So I want to wrap up. Thank you a thousand horses for joining me. I like to leave with leave your life, So give me some inspiration leave your life. I think staying focused on one thing is the most important thing, and just continuing to do that, never get out for you and never giving up, you know, and always have your vision

and just you know, stick to the plan. It's kind of my stay true to your stay true while you're doing it. Don't be a jerk. Don't never sit at a table when you can stand at the bar. That's money. Also, I didn't make that. That's a quote from It's Great whatever somebody grant author. What does that even mean? Hit me? I think that it means don't sit at the table and be like closed off and like stay in your own thing when you can go stay at the bar and be like hey, new, experience me, new people. I

love that. Love that's just the bar. I mean it's also metal for for the bar. Like I hate sitting at the table, want to stand at the bar. Honestly, I love you know that. I love super bar. You guys love a bar in general. Whatever, And Irish pub is a lot of fun, you know, British pub is a lot of fun. True. The martini bars bar woods nasty. We're at a martini bar. I'm getting I think it's thanks guys. And Carolina, she's the queen of talking. He was son. She's on the side. She got the stoop.
