How to Greet in German

We are taking a good look at ways to greet people in German. In the first few minutes, we cover all the basics. Then, we move on to more tricky tasks. Where do we say certain expressions? Where not? What time of the day do we say "Good evening?" Are there any colloquial ways of saying these things? Any easy forms? What should we remember? And how the heck are we supposed to pronounce those weird Umlauts?!
