July 8th, 2002. Long Beach, California. It was a normal day in summer school for Brian Banks. He left class, and saw his acquaintance Wanetta Gibson in the hallway. They decided to sneak off to the stairs to spend some time away from the prying eyes of teachers. But that was his story. Wanetta told a very different account and Brian was arrested.
