I have heard it said that happiness is based on externals while joy is based on internals. Happiness can come and go based on life circumstances but joy, true joy, has the ability to be claimed every day. This week we will be encouraged to choose joy no matter what is going on in our lives. Jesus promised us in John 16:33 that in this life we have many troubles but we can take heart, we can choose joy, because Jesus has overcome the world.
