Hi everyone. And welcome to a podcast about sobriety for the LGBTQ plus community and our allies. I'm your host, Steve Bennett, Martin. I am an alcoholic and I am grateful for my crystals. As of this recording, I am six months and one day sober. And today I'm going to share a few crystals that have been known to help with. Now why crystals? Well, I've always had a handful of friends who live by their crystals.
They're very knowledgeable and swear by them for their healing properties and the ways that they can help make positive impacts on their lives. Recently my husband started a metaphysical healing journey during my sobriety. And so I've been around it a lot more recently.
We've been getting involved with a local apothecary and their meditation classes and cow ceremony and other different things that have been kind of broadening my view of spirituality and a big part of the metaphysical journey is the healing power of crystals. Now, the first crystal we're going to talk about today is the beautiful purple amethyst.
Now, one thing I didn't realize up until researching for the episode, I've always known it helps with Sev variety, but I didn't know that it literally translates to not drunk in Greek. Now throughout history, it's been known as the stone of sobriety because it is thought to ward off temptation in crystal healing. And crystal healing amethyst. It helps bring us closer to our own spirituality. Bustos wisdom and washes away. Negative.
Even in alleviating withdrawal symptoms, meditating with the stone is alleged to cleanse and recharge the body mind. And spirit carnelian is another favorite for sobriety as it's the crystal known for helping us break bad habits, a bright orange form of courts and helps the user feel energized while simultaneously at ease. It allows the user to make better decisions and helps inspire confidence and self.
Which are two things, many of us alcoholics lack Lepanto light is another beautiful crystal that is excellent for overcoming any type of emotional or mental dependency, such as obsessive thoughts and addictions. It is known as the bringer of hope in dark times and promotes trust, serenity, and acceptance while encouraging self-love patients and the optimum.
LEPA delight can also help stabilize mood swings, which many of us can go through and overcoming addictions, or if you're like me just on the daily basis, Black Onyx is an extremely supportive stone in sobriety known for its ability to ground and center. You it's considered a stone of protection and strength. It helps shield you from negative energy while calming fears.
It provides a balancing effect on the body and helps distance energies from other people, which I've found very helpful at work. Selenite is a crystallized form of the mineral gypsum and is a must for any crystal user, as it's famous for its ability to recharge other crystals, whoever it has its own unique benefits for those recovering from addictions, because it can help sooth immense mental and physical pain while promoting mental calmness.
And honestly, You can wear a whole selenite for its benefits, or you can get a special selenite recharging plate to hold your other crystals by your bedside or workstation. Now, these are just a few crystals, but one thing I've learned in my journey is how each person has different energies and are drawn to different stones. At the spirit Fest we had locally in Sarasota a couple of weeks ago, I went with my husband as well as two of our friends. And. Across four different booths.
All of us were almost drawn to our own individual booth and we found individual crystals that kind of spoke to us or made us feel things. So definitely check out your local metaphysical supply store, shop around holding different crystals and see which ones resonate with you. Thank you everyone for listening to this episode, please rate and review.
