Ray, Jeff Walkers, you or you and that is perfectly fine with me, my friend. It's Tuesday night, October seventeenth, twenty twenty three, two weeks away from All Hallows Eve, nineteen days away from the time change. Yeah, that insanity continues in this country. We will fall back on November fifth and Thanksgiving just a little bit more than a month away. So it's moving so quickly. Time is seemingly and the news stories are moving even
more rapidly, as you well know. And Israel in the Gaza, the Hamas, Palestinians continue to kill anyone they can see that's in their way. Jews, Palestinians, Americans held hostage by these terrorists, and they are nothing more that. They are not freedom fighters. They are not. They don't worry about humanitarian needs for the people. They say they represent the Palestinians.
They do not represent the Palestinians. All they represent is being an arm of Iran and the Iyatolas and the Mullas to kill as many Jews as possible. They deserve no humanitarian aid themselves. They are blocking that humanitarian aid that the United States that the UN is shipped in which I'm about medical food, fuel. You can give all you want if you believe in the Palestinian cause, but it's not going to get to the Palestinian people because the terrorists who are
in charge of the Gaza won't let it through. Get it into your head. We should support Israel. The president going there, What good that's going to do? I mean, I guess as long as he doesn't fall down, it'll be considered a successful trip to meet with Nettan Yahoo and the other leaders. But it's just a mess, obviously. I don't know how much of that we'll get into tonight. Got the news headlines and it and again
the news is moving so quickly we could have updates at any moment. Dave Hatter will join us in it Tech report, Michael Let's law enforcement and I'm sure he has a word or two to say about the situation in Israel with the terrorists. Jeron Smith, who co authored a book with a man named Pilkerton. We'll get into this about Lincoln's plan to benefit underserved communities in this country during reconstruction, and why Republicans should take note of Lincoln's original vision and
perhaps follow his lead. Andy Furman, Roco Costellano a little train with Rocco stuff going on tonight and Dan Carroll, who you'll hear tomorrow night on the midweek Crisis here on seven hundred WLW, joining us for a segment called Carroll's Corner. We'll find out what Dan's up to and what you can look forward to on tomorrow Night's ship. If he's inclined to give any of that away, We'll begin in just moments with our first interview of the evening. It's
the nightcap. Glad to be with you, seven hundred WLW. McConnell in the morning, right right, Mike McConnell. If you think this music's catchy, Jess Waite, you join me. Mike McConnell in the morning. I got everything you need to start your day right the latest news, weather, traffic, sports, financial updates, travel news, international interviews, and my own brand of Mike McConnell funny. Mike McConnell. Now, let's dance in the morning. In the morning, in the morning, tomorrow morning at five
on seven, I've been WLW in the morning with inflation compensation. You could
knock inflation outs with a thousand dollars walk. He's served in several roles at the White House under President Trump, including Deputy Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy, Deputy Director for the Office of American Innovation, Director of Urban Affairs and Revitalization for the White House Domestic Policy Council, and he has co authored a book with a man named Chris Pilkerton called Underserved, Harnessing the Principles of
Lincoln's Vision for reconstruction for Today's Forgotten Communities. It's an excellent topic. It's something that's very important. And now Jeron Smith joins us, Jiron, how are you. I'm doing okay, Thanks for having me. You're still in that You're still in that hornet's nest to Washington, d C. Aren't you things crazy today with the Jim Jordan nomination and the testimony for a Speaker of the House which desperately needs to be filled. If we're going to do anything
like like give support to Israel or anything else. Yeah, I hope he does too. He's been an outspoken, I think, champion for freedom and for people's rights, constitutional rights, and I hope he does win as well. But anyway, for a moment about the book, what motivated you to
do this? This is something that you have done Throughout your career, you worked with Senator Tim Scott, served on the staff of the House Committee on Financial Services, the Republican Study Committee, the House Republican Conference under Mike Pennce, the office of Rep. J. C. Watts out of Oklahoma.
And let me ask you first, Jeron, do you think that President Trump during his administration did as much or more than any other president in the last sixty seventy years to try and figure out these answers for underserved communities in our country. I think he has and I'll tell you why. I think that
he provided a roadmap towards holistic strategies that include the private sector. The last president to try to attend to do something around underserved was President Linda D. Johnson with the Great Society Programs, but it's been an utter failure because what it ended up doing was on replacing the focus on families and civil society with a focus on the government, and the dependency that's come out of the wake
of it has really hurt underserved communities well. President Trump's initiatives with historically black colleges and universities, the economic Opportunity zones, is that what you and Chris would like to see more of was that part of Lincoln's vision for reconstruction after the Civil War and after slavery. Lincoln's vision for reconstruction was around economic empowerment.
And then the book underserved what we talk about is Lincoln's history have been grown up on a prairie, and how that once America had moved past the Civil War, he wanted to economically empower former Says as well as poor whites in the South. And what we end up having was quite the opposite.
Because of this assassination. We had a president who created warfare between whites and blacks by the establishment of Jim Crow in the South, and then over the next couple decades you had the government either neglecting to be intentional about that economic empowerment piece or using the government to discriminate against people and creating more more underserved communities. And so what we're looking to do is return back to that essence
of economic empowerment. But it has to be done in a ground up approach that involves civil society. It can cannot be a top down approach. And I think President Trump made an attempt to take more of a ground up approach by working with law enforcement around public safety, working with UH developers and creating
these opportunities zones and creating jobs and communities that need it most. And so this holistic strategy is what we want more leaders to double down on, because it's going to take a nuanced approach to deal with the issues that are underserved. But we need members to be and leaders to be intentional and to have infrastructure that's going to be sustainable. And the only way you can do that
is through the private sector. Right. And and you talked about the Great Society, which basically said to black women, if if the fathers are in the home, we can't help you, but let's let's replace the fathers with daddy government. And we see what that has brought on many many of these underserved communities around the country. And you go to you go to Baltimore, you go to Chicago, you go to any big city where there are large
populations of people who have been and raised generationally under the welfare state. The Great Society, which was supposed to solve all these problems and it's only made them worse. Uh, that's exactly right. And UH, and you know, and it's it's not even something that's just in the Black community. Although it's had the biggest effect on low income black households, it's also affected parts of Appalachia and world communities. Yeah. Absolutely, I mean underserved communities are
color blind as far as I'm construcy. Uh, Lincoln, Lincoln. Do you think that Lincoln understood that we had a whole a whole population of people in this country all of a sudden who were going to be free to pursue economic opportunities, but they had never experienced how to do it. Do you think he had a roadmap on how to to educate them, because many cases they had been subjugated their entire time on America shores and didn't understand the concept.
They knew they wanted freedom, but they didn't understand the concept under the American system of how to achieve that success and that opportunity. And Lincoln knew that more than most presidents that we've had, because he grew up poor and so he knew the significance of education. He also knew the significance of being able to build things with your hands, which is why you hear about economic
empowerment strategies such as forty acres and a mule. You know, it's some toil and the strength of kind of being able to build yourself up and the dignity of work, but at the same time being able to take that hard work and working smart, something that was very understood also by Frederick Douglass.
And Frederick Douglass probably would have done more work with Lincoln. He had started beginning to talk about what this looked like with Lincoln, because he played a vital role in integrating or allowing ex slaves to be a part of the Union army. But Lincoln or Douglas wasn't able to kind of work with Lincoln because of the assassination, and he was able to kind of pick things up with
Grant. And Grant did do things around reconstruction, but he didn't have the political uh wherewithal that Lincoln had, And so I think it would have been a lot different around reconstruction, and and and most people consider reconstruction of failure, even though Grant at least made the attempt. You know, we think that if Lincoln's vision would have lived on, he would have been a lot
more successful. But those years in the Johnson era that the ball was dropped proved to be a real issue going into the Grand administration, and and the and the country is still really from the vestages of our failed effort at reconstruction. I think Americans are still very confused. Some Americans are about the terms equity and equality because equity is not equality. Uh. And I'm sure you can attest to this and understand that equity means a guaranteed outcome. Equality means
a guaranteed opportunity. There are two very distinct things, but a lot of people confuse those two words. Your thoughts, I mean, you also have to earn equity. You know, when you get equity, it comes from making an an investment, and you only can make an investment with your own on wherewithal it takes work to get there. You don't get equity just because you know. More so, we want to describe more specifically on what it
means to be able to chase the American dream. You know, these broad terms that the left likes to use don't really have a real kind of marching orders on what it looks like and in perpetuity. You know, what we want is very plainly jobs and opportunity. You know, jobs and opportunity allows people to chart their own path. We want people to be able to be successful through their through through their hard work. We want infrastructure around those who
who fall through the cracks. We know that not every family is perfect, but we can create infrastructure with churches and civil society to help those individuals be able to bounce back. And that's not something the government can do. And and and in order to kind of be the best country we can, we need to kind of harness infrastructure in the private sector as well as the government to to galvanize infrastructure opportunity for our most precious asset, which is our people,
for the American people. And it's gonna look success is gonna look different from different for different types of people. Everybody is not going to go to college and do a four year degree, you know, everyone that gets a four year degree aren't aren't going to do well, you know, financially, because I mean, it's not just that that that determines success. You know, success includes being resilient, you know, are hard work, having a
plan, you know, being able to execute set goals. These are all things outside of the government framework that takes a community and a family built around intention. And that's what we're discussing and underserved you know, a new infrastructure of opportunity that looks at this holistic framework on economic development, on affordability, on wealth creation, on public safety, on behavioral health, and ultimately on opportunity, jobs and education. So you do not leave out the important factor
of meritocracy and working hard. Not everybody's going to achieve the same way, even with the same opportunities. Jeron, No, that's exactly right. And that's okay. I mean, that's that's the human experience, you know. So so maybe so so. Sometimes it's it's me that that that does things that that's crazy. Other times it's it's my child or my grandchild, you
know. But it's the notion of being able to actualize your gifts on to the best of the ability and then leave a legacy and and and at the end of the day, you know, the results, the the the the job is ours, the results of our gods, you know. Like that's that's the way civilization has work, and that's what's brought us here to become a more perfect union. That's that's a great way to put it. Uh, how is your old boss Tim Scott doing. I know that he is.
Uh, he's kind of backed off his his TV ads for the Superpack because things are not going well in his presidential run. Have you spoken with him recently? I've been spoken with him recently. You know, I have spoken more recently with my other former boss, President Trump. You know, I just think that President than Trump's record. You know, people paid close attention to that because politicians have historically not been honest about what they can get
done. And he's been committed to what he said he was going to do and he delivered, delivered jobs, deliver opportunity. He reformed NAFTA, He was able to kind of really be ahead of his time on his his war against this kind of cod war against China, as well as being ahead of his time with immigration and being able to kind of protect our borders. You know, all of these things. People are seeing that like man Trump was right. So it's going to be really hard to beat him out because he's
created on grassroots and areas that Republicans have historically struggle. And that's what blue collar workers, that's what minority workers, and that's also with some establishment Republicans that always ask for reforms on abortion and ask for reforms on on on our judges, and he delivered on top having a very strong economy. Yeah, and all the while being attacked from all sides. I love President Trump.
I'd vote for him a third time. See them all over the country, and in a country as great and as exceptional as the United States is and can be, again, there's no reason for these communities to be left behind. Jiron Smith, thank you very much, and tell your co author Chris Pilkerton, good work. All right, thanks, thanks so much. You have a nice day, you too in Washington, d c. The Jiron

I want to run by you, all right, because you always come to me. Let's talk back. I don't want to talk bangles, but I want to talk about a bangle, all right, one beangle. Oh. I happen to enjoy watching him play, but I don't think he's the sharpest
tack in the room. Ask about Jamar ch Okay and Jamar Chase to me, is a cheap imitation of Chad Johnson, you know. And he's got to seven Yeah, I really he's got to go to seven eleven route that he's always open, which Chad that said years ago. But here's my question. Why would you say your seven eleven always open when in nineteen forty six they changed the name from Totem Stores to seven eleven because the store was only
opened from seven am to eleven PM. I don't get it. Why wouldn't they use a store that's open twenty four freaking hours, like a Walgreens or a waffle house or a Denny's. Why seven eleven or there aren't that many in Cincinnati anyway or speedway that would be that would be a great name for Jamar Jay's speedway. He's only seven eleven, you know when when I heard him do that as a whole home. I enjoy watching him play. He's got a lot of talent. I really like him. He's a good player.
Never than him personally, but I will one day. But to go to seven eleven routes, I mean, honestly, did he take a Let me get this straight. Andy, You're you're complaining about the nickname he gave himself. That's what you're complaining about. No, I'm not. It's not a complaint. I don't like when people cheapen themselves, be creative. Chad Johnson did that? Oh, cho Senko did this seven eleven? Do something else? You know what, Jamar Chase, I uiss? Next time,
call me, I'll help you. You know you look like a fool of your copying. Chad Johnson, come on, really better off not doing anything. He's a great player. You don't need to do that. That's cheapen yourself. Now, okay, let's talk about Chad Johnson. Ocho Stenko versus Jamar Chase Sinko sink Oh, she raised the horse for me at River Down. I remember that. That's now we'll talk about cheapening yourself racing horses at River Downs. Anyway, let me get back to this, let's do the
cross comparison. Now, we don't have the amount of evidence because we he's not been in the league as long as Chad was, and Chad's a great player in the Bengals Ring of Honor, as he should be in the Bengals Hall of Fame. Absolutely, But I mean, do you think that Jamar Chase has the opportunity to far surpass what Chad Johns? I do? I think that I think that he can definitely surpass what Chad owed. The laudits
that you're giving to Chad Johnson in in Memoriam. Almost his career obviously over, and Jamar Chase's story is still being written, and I think that Jamar Chase can write a bigger story than Chad Johnson in the end of FLD. Well, you know what, though, I'm not here to predict the future. If you want to predict the future and then buy a couple of lottery tickets for me for Wednesday night, okay? Do that? All I know is this, Yeah, that's a possibility. But the point is this Chad
has done that. Chad has over eleven thousand career yards. Chad has sixty seven career touchdowns. You know, I can't predict what jim Ar Chase is going to do. So when I went Joe Burrow, he got hurt. Jamar Chase could get hurt. T Higgins, who's playing with crack ribs. It's a dangerous game, it really is. So is he going to break Chad's record? I don't know. Kenny perhaps who knows what's gonna happen. He may not even finish his career in Cincinnati. Well, I know is
this. Chad's been there and done that, all right, And you don't have to mimic Chad Johnson's seven eleven. That's all I'm saying. If he would have said Denny's, Denny's waffle House would have been great. And everybody knows waffle house, you tell what. I don't even know if there's ten seven elevens in the greater Cincinnati area. Probably not, you know, Mike, right, My most memorable experience at a seven eleven. I was in
Miami, Florida. This is back in the late nineteen eighties, and I was there to pick up my wife and her girlfriend, who were getting off a cruise ship in the port of Miami. Had no idea where I was going. And it's three point thirty in the morning in downtown Miami, Florida, and the only thing I could find open was a seven eleven and I walked in its street to trying to figure out where to go to pick up
my wife and friend. Nobody in the place spoke English. And I was sitting there, going big boats, Where do I find the big And I'm using my hands like they understand what this means. And there's nobody who speaks English. And there's seven eleven in Miami at three point thirty in the morning. And finally a Haitian cab driver comes in who spoke broken English and gave me instructions, but it took me a half an hour. In say, if i'd wanted a slurpee, I've been in good business, but I wanted
directions, and I had no idea what any of them were saying. Let me tell you one on one thing. I mean, that is not the only place in South Florida that there's no English spoken. Because I lived at Fort Lauderdale for a year or so, and this is way back in the day, and you know, go down to Miami now every now and again, or in Fort Laudadale. So that's seven eleven was not it's not alone. There's a lot of places where I don't speak English there. But that's
okay, that's all right. It's the Cuban community down in Miami, so it's it's not a big whoop. So maybe you know, that's one of those things. There was a coincidence. It's more than happy stands down there? Really, why had I had a conversation, a good twenty minute conversation last night with wild Man Walker, and I'm not sure he spoke English at any point during that conversation. No, so yeah, he has his own
he has his own tongue. Well, he has his own tongue. We have we have learned the wild Man language, and sometimes he speaks sense. You know, he likes to promote his book. I don't know how a man like that could have two books, you know, really and truly, but you know, half the book is like a coloring book, a lot of pictures. But that's okay. You know, I'm happy for him. He's healthy, he had a good run. Where's your book? Where's your where's your book? For a ball? I don't need a book. I
don't want a book. I don't believe it anyway, they'll think it's fiction. So I don't want to even write. I should you should write a book? Yeah you think so? Well, that's Paul doctory. Maybe he'll do it for me. However, I would say this, I'm glad the Bengals one, because you never know, wild Man would have decided maybe to go back on the roof again. Yeah. I asked him about that man. He said he's in no condition to get up on a billboard or on a roof anymore. So anyway, let me ask you. This is my
NFL related question. And I discussion earlier today with the guy who owns the bar that I bartend out at Newport, and he and his grandson were talking. You could mention the name, you could mention the name of the bars your show, Huddle's Cafe, six twenty eight Mama Street on there Thursday,
Friday and Saturday eleven to seven without there once one time. Yeah, once, I'll But anyway, so they were talking about just some of the questionable calls and plays this year in the NFL, and they seem to have increased in volume, just kind of head scratchers, the players doing things that just are out of character for those players at crucial times in the game that affect
the outcome of the game and the points spread. Do you feel like there is a reason for fans to question the legitimacy of the National Foot bull League now more than ever with the explosion of spreading, I tell you, with the gambling aspect right now. And a lot of people have gambled before, but now it's everywhere. Every other commercial on television is gambling. Here. You can't get a wait for your good gamble on your phone. There's gambling
parlors. And I think every time there's a mistake, be an official mistake or drop pass, anything at all that would affect the outcome of the game, people are gonna question was it done intentionally? Was it done because of the point spread? I remember several weeks ago the La Rams kicked the field goal with about thirty seconds to go in the ball game, which had nothing to do except change the outcome of the point spread, because they were no
way on earth going to win that game. They were down by what maybe two touchdowns, so they went for a field goal and that affected the outcome. And Penn State did the same thing several weeks ago in football and it changed the line as well, and there were some stories about that and they questioned the coach at Penn State. But you know what, it's going to
happen. That's just the world we live in right now. My team, the Kansas City Chiefs, two weeks ago, they are driving and they get down to there's a pass from Mahomes to Kelsey, you know, like that never happens, but Kelsey slides down. No, it was it was Mahomes who slid down right past the line to gain so they would have first in goal with the other team having no timeouts. He could have very easily scored that touchdown, but no he did not, in an affected point spread outcome
in that game. And then this past week Thursday, the point spread as the Chiefs were playing I'm trying to remember who they were playing. Was it Denver? I think it was Denver? So the point spread was eleven and guess what. The Chiefs won by eleven, And it could have been much much more of a spread than eleven points, but somehow, magically they just
hit the spread exactly. So, now, well he was not mistaken that the first incident, you told them, But I think when he did not go into the end zone, anyone that are on the clock out and maybe a mistaken no no, no, no, no, that was the point the announcers were making. But he very easily could have scored and then they could have very easily run the clock out with a huge lead that couldn't have been surrounded. Right, But that that may have been the smart play.
Who now, maybe the coaches told him to do that. But even last night I was watching that Giants game against the against was a Buffalo, and obviously it was an ugly game. But at the end of the first half, the Giants had the ball in the one yard line and they couldn't put it in. But they maybe it was just they're so bad they couldn't put it in. You don't know, but there's always that question, you know. And certainly at the end of the first half. I don't think it's
goun to affect the points. But however, the people do bet on scores for the half, they really did, and any kind of a bet. Really, the prop bets are all over the place. There's live sports betting the whole game. You can bet on the next right play for God's sad, which I'm glad I'm not involved because you know, I look at it. I look at the line, but you know I'm not one of those gambles. It just you know, I worked at racetracks most of my life,
harness thoroughbred dog tracks. I just hardly ever would place a bet. It just never interested me. But there are certain people that I know that can't watch a ball game without having money on the game because it gives them more incentive. I guess to watch that game. Well, Andy, our mutual friend Rocco Costellana, who's on the program a little bit later on tonight, he can hook you up with his buddy Vinnie Boombots. That's fine with me, That's fine. You know, I'll just say hello, go by
the Rocco. That's all I need. You know, I don't need to get ked up. I don't need to get up. So you do believe that there's something to the and I always thought that there were things that happened in the NFL that you know, for years I called the league NFL stands for not fully legitimate, and I think it's just been exacerbated by the explosion of illegal sports. Well, I don't think it's I think it's legitimate.
I mean, there's no doubt about that. However, you know why you bring up an interesting point because who knew about the referee in the National Basketball Association, Dennaheat basically was taking money. I just think that it's very difficult to get a hold of a player and or an official simply because at least the players that makes so much money, it will be almost impossible for gamblers
to get to them the dump a game. It can't happen now. If you remember back in the nineteen fifties when they had the basketball scandals of New York City, they were getting to these college kids, Big Time City College of New York, ohaving scandal. Yeah, but they got to those kids because you know, money was there that Gambellis had the money. You can't get to an athlete now in the NBA or the NFL. They make too
much money. They won't throw the game. However, if there is fact a mispass, a bad play, a bad call, they will be questioned by people saying I wonder if I wonder if Oh, indeed so the NBA season. The exhibition season has just started. Have you watched any games yet? Andy, No? No. You know what, It's funny you mentioned that because I am so zeroed in on football and there was so much football. I mean Fronday that I'm watching Colorado late and they lose at a twenty
nine point lead against Stanford and they lost that game. Saturday was great with Washington playing, you know, over again, and that was a great game. That was one of the great games in college football. Really, it really was Saturday night. No to Dame's playing Sundays Old NFL, Monday nights the NFL, and you got Thursday NFL. You know, I'm almost almost immune, I mean to anything else but football. And I hate to say this because I was always a baseball not I love baseball, but I'm not
even following these playoffs either. They are too long. I don't know. Maybe the World Series I'll get into it, but it's just one of those deals you just can't you can't follow. Maybe it's just too long. The beauty about football. At least in the football playoffs, you're one and out. It's one game, it's over and there's a lot on the line. But baseball, it's three out of five, four out of nine, seven
out of eleven, whatever it is. It's just too much. You play one hundred and sixty two games and then after that you first going into the three out of lot whatever. It's just too much. We're agree by the fact, they really do. We're in agreement that the baseball season, the Major League baseball season, is way too long. I think the NBA season is way too long. Maybe agree, maybe, And if it would to fist that, don't never cut the datestat because it's money. But you could
make it into two eighty one game seasons. You could do that. That would have help a little bit instead of won one season of one hundred and sixty two games. And you don't need all those wild card teams. You really don't. I mean, I just think that I want to sit down. Well, you like it? No, we got along, fave, We got along fine without the expanded wild cards. Oh, I agree, I agree. But small money. That's why they do. You know,
it's all about the green cabage, the guilt. Well, and we're back to the NFL and gambling, which partly was the point of least the NFL. It's one and done. It's one big example the WNBA. I'm not a big w NBA fan, but I do follow the New York Liberty because they're from Brooklyn, and I watched those games. They're football players. They got the big game Wednesday night, you know, and it's it's one and done. They lose that game, they're out of it. If the Vegas
wins, you know they're going to be a final game. And you know there's excitement when there's won and done. And that's why the NFL is a great super Bowl bingo, winn go win, it goes to the championship, lose a goal. I agree, I agree, And I'm not a fan of the w n b A. And you know why, Andy, this is the end here, just no, no, no. I love women, but they have some. The w n b A has smaller balls than the men's league, and I think they really do. All right, And
thank you so much. Take care brother? Are you dumping me? Now? Are you getting rid of me? I think that that's the time for our segment. Goodbye. Did you know that if you miss any part of our shows, you can catch the podcast of that show on the iHeartRadio ad. Did you also know that sitting has been a sport since two thousand and eight. I don't know the rules of Aggressive City, but hopefully you get to listen to our podcast while you're doing it. Otherwise at sport would just
suck. Now you can relive the greatest moment for our number hour of this nightcap for Tuesday night, October seventeenth, twenty twenty three on the Big One, seven hundred wl W Gary Jeff. A pleasure and an honor to be with you again and have our friend, the it guy, the tech guru from intrust It, Dave Hatter, who was here and he's still the mayor of Fort Wright because no one else wants the job, Dave, No one else is that crazy? Garret Jeff, thanks for having me Bro Dave.
Good evening. First and foremost, I want to tell you that my neighbor Judy, who had her birthday last night we noted and celebrated Judy's birthday, loves the show. She's not necessarily a fan of this because none of it, none of it relates to her. She if she's online, it means she's talking on the phone to one of her kids or grandkids or great grandkids or maybe us. That's that's Judy's experience online, but I you know that, I guess there's always that chance that she could slip up and get get
into the uh into the grid here and get in trouble. The FBI has warned of a surgeon phantom hacker scams impacting the elderly beautiful people like my neighbor Judy strictly. Uh, can you tell me a little bit more about this particular and what's the difference between a phantom hacker and a regular hacker. Yeah, so I think this is a really important topic, Herry, Jeff.
And it's interesting because I think, you know, the longer time goes on, the harder will be for Judy and anyone else not to have some digital experiences, because, as you know, our entire world is becoming increasingly digital every day. I don't know if you've heard the term software to find everything, but you know, just about everything you has software in it now, and as that becomes more and more common, it's going to get harder and
harder to avoid this stuff. And sadly, the bad guys know that. So the stantom hacker scam the FBI is moored about basically just takes an existing scam it's been around for a long time, and it adds more layers into it. And I think it's so important for people to really understand what they're up against here, because I know folks think, well, this will never happen to me, or you know, I don't have any money, I don't really have anything more stealing. They will steal whatever money you have,
especially if you make it easy for them. And this just plays out over and over and over again. And my first thing before I get into the details of this particular scam, are folks have to understand that most of these crimes are not coming from withinside the United States. It's coming from offshore in countries where at best they turn the blind eye to this sort of crime and
at worse, they're complicit in it. You know, I've seen a stat that says the FBI believes North Korea makes about two billion dollars a year that helps fund their government through these kind of scams. So let me give your stat from the FBI, Gary Jeff. This is from the article quote. Between January and June twenty twenty three, nineteen thousand complaints related to tech support scams were submitted to the FBI Crime Complaint Center, which is known as IC
three icgree dot gov. I encourage people write that down. It's a great site because it nominally gives you a lot of good advice, but it also gives you the opportunity to report any sort of scam you may have experienced. So nineteen thousand complaints just in the first six months of this year, with estimated losses of over five hundred and forty two million, or for those of us in Kentucky, half a billion dollars right, roundup, Yeah, half
a billion dollars. Nineteen thousand complaints in six months of this year. So think about the scale of that five hundred and forty two million dollars. So okay, yeah, maybe you don't have a lot of money. But if I can steal your three thousand because you make it easy, and I can steal the next guy six thousand because they make it easy, and I can steal someone else's, you know, forty five hundred because they make it easy,
that adds up to real money. And I also want to point out I want a presentation by the FBI senior agent who said they believe that only ten to twelve percent of all cyber crime is actually reported, So five hundred and forty two million dollars, I can guarantee you is substantially under what is
actually being stolen at any given time. You know, whether it's ten percent or fifty percent, or how very much crime is actually reported, I guarantee you it's not all of it. The nineteen thousand complaints, five hundred and forty two million dollars, and then the last quote, and then I'll kind of explain how this works. They said fifty percent of the victims we're sixty
years old or older. That's sixty six percent of the total losses. And losses as of twenty twenty three, Okay, have already exceeded those of twenty twenty by forty percent. So we're already forty percent ahead of the entire year of twenty twenty two in August of this year. My point, I mean, these scams are not going away because we continue to make it easy for the bad guy. They're very creative, they're very devious and frankly downright evil.
There's nothing they won't say or do to try to get your money. And if people don't believe that, go watch the YouTube channel kit Boga. He's a scam. The scammer guys. He tries to get these people on the phone and then just waste as much of their time as possible, not only because it's funny and he monetizes that, you know, through his YouTube channel, but also it's really instructive and insightful for people to see. These people will literally say anything, what is his name? What is his name
again? Kit Boga ki t Boga. I really encourage people check him out. I think he's doing society a great benefit because he wastes a lot of their time and eventually they'll just completely go off when they realize they're the ones being scammed. But again, it's really instructive to see the sort of lives they'll tell, and the things they'll do, and the outrageous extent they'll go
to to try to steal people's money. Most people, if they've never seen something like this, I think they will be absolutely shocked and they'll have a religious experience about how realistic and serious this stuff is. So to answer your original question, I'm rambling here, Garret Jeff Phantom hacker scam. This is how the FBI described it. So the tech imposter scam has been around for a long time. Maybe you get a phone call, maybe you click on
a link and something pops up tells you that you've got a virus. I'm for Microsoft. I want to help you, and people don't you know right off the bat, you should just immediately hang up. Okay, just immediately hang up. It's a scam. Microsoft is not going to call you. Google is not going to call you until you have a virus. But let's say you start talking to them. You know, usually they'll want to install some software that gives them complete control over your device. At what's point,
all bets are off. There's no telling what to happen next. But what they've decided to do now is they start out with a tech support scam. They tell you, oh, yeah, we see that you have some problems. Oh wait a minute, it looks like your bank has been hacked and you need to transfer your money to a safe account. Then they call you back from your bank quote unquote, because now they know who your bank is.
And I want to remind people, Gary Jeff, I can go to a site like LinkedIn, or I can go to let's say US Bank or Fifth Third and find the name of real people that work at that bank, and I can claim, Oh, yeah, I'm Joe Doates from you know, US Bank, and I'm looking at your account right now. Oh you want to look me up? Sure, go to LinkedIn here, I am all go to US Bank. There's my picture on the site. I can easily find this information online. Then they want to transfer your money now if
you hopefully by then I'll get skeptical. Then they'll call you back and claim to be from the government and say, you know, I'm from the Treasury Department or the FBI or whatever, and this is legitimate and you need to transfer your money. Again, This isn't Dave Howard telling you this. This is the FBI. They actually have a diagram that shows you how this works.
They're experiencing this for real right now. Out in the field. People are losing their money, tens of thousands in some cases all of their money through these kind of scams. Well, if I, if I don't know the number, I don't use actually answer the phone, Dave, good plan, good plan again, another way to keep yourself safe. And you and I have gone over this time and time again, Dave. But just a quick reminder on possibly enlisting a password manager for your passwords for your bank account,
for online anything that you have to have a password for. There are actually companies out there that will do it for you and to do a very good job of concealing your identity online. Yes, yes, there are some excellent password manager applications out there. There's a bunch of companies in the space. Some of them are free, some of them are nominally priced. You know, you're probably looking at maybe sixty bucks a year for a family plan
with one of these. The family plans are nice because you can get your whole family operating this way. And let me just say this, one of the key problems we see time and time again are people use the same bad passwords on multiple accounts because it's hard to remember fifty or one hundred pass especially if they're you know, following some nerd like me's advice that well, it's got to be you know, at least fifteen characters long, blah blah blah.
I get that. I'm a human being too. Of course I couldn't remember all that stuff either. That's where your password manager comes in. So Magazine is like Wired and c net and zd net and PC Magazine and others. Every year will study these things and make recommendations, you know, whether it's a password manager, virtual private network, AKAVPN, anti virus, whatever, they will give you. Here's a list of the best password managers,
and here's why we pick them. And first off, I want to point out you have experts and editors who are literally tearing these things apart, testing every conceivable thing, tell you whether it's good or not right. So it's not just well, this is Dave Patter's opinion on my brother's uncle's cousin does it. He's what he thinks. These are people who are really digging into
this stuff. And you know, Wire just put out an article recently with their pick, which just happens to nicely align with my pick, which is one password. There are a bunch of password managers out there, you know, depending on your specific needs, one may be better than the other. One might be a little more expensive than the other. You might be able
to get by with the free version. Most of these have a freemium model where you start out for free and then if you want the more advanced capabilities, like the family plan, you got to pay for it. But I'll tell you, honest to god, Gary jess A Once you get over the initial friction of warning how to work with a password manager, you'll never want to go back. I only know one password. I only know the password for my password manager. It's very long and very complex so that it can't
be cracked or guessed. And of course I have multi facture authentication turned on on my password manager. Also critical. If you're going to use a password manager, you must must must have a strong, unique password on that account, and you must turn on an FA. Once you've done that, then for every account, you can let it generate a password for you to my Facebook passwords like two hundred and fifty six characters that have just landing the Mumbo
jump up. Think account password is two hundred and fifty six characters and random umbo jumble. I don't know what it is. The password manager is what it is. The password manager encrypts these says. It uses something called zero knowledge encryption, so the password manager company never has my passwords. All they have is the encrypted version. So even if you break into the password manager's database and you steal my password, you still have to decrypt all of those.
So that's because these are concerns I know people have, Well, what happens if they break into that. Well, it's encrypted with AS two fifty six. It's I can't say without with quantum computers or something that couldn't be cracked, but by currently available technology, it's essentially untrackable. So the password manager also installs on your computer, it installs on their phone, and installs
on their tablet. So now wherever I am, whatever device I'm on, I have access to all my passwords with one strong master password in MSA, I have a ridiculous password on every account. I also turn on the MSA on every account. STALL only recommend everyone when us MSA multi factor authentication two
step verbocation, two factor authentication, whatever it's called everywhere. But once you get accustomed to the password manager and how easy it is to work with, you'll never want to go back, and you'll be vastly more secure than anyone that's not using one, because every account can have a ridiculous, unbreakable password. Every time we talk about every time we talk about this, I think that I should be a password manager because I am the most unusual passwords.
What I like to do is use lyrics from nonsensical songs from the sixties as a password like from Good Morning Starshine by Oliver Glibby Glop bloopy nibbi abbanupi s La la la low. That's a good one. That's a good one because I don't even know that song. Gre Yes, Well you're lucky. Okay, Uh, couple couple quick things before we go, David, Our time
is limited. Metas are not doing so well after a blockbuster rollout in July where they had twenty three point seven million users, And for people who don't know, Threads is kind of like a Twitter or X alternative that was launched. But Twitter is still outpacing Threads more than two to one, and Threads just hasn't really picked up any steam against Facebook, Instagram, Tictac or or
X. Yeah. You may recall there was a lot of hype that came out when Suckerberg released Threads going to be the Twitter killer, X killer, etc. And you know, one of the things that got had a lot of tracks shrowent off of that was if you were already on the meta platform, in particular Instagram. Just a reminder, Meta is Facebook's new name and Meta owned Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, a Messenger, and others. Yep by so they launched this threads thing, and it was really easy if you
already had an Instagram account to basically have a Threads account. And yeah, if you look at month over month traffic, it just keeps going down on Threads, and you know, from what has been reported, it appears to me traffic on x is going up. So yeah, the Twitter killer Flash x killer does not seem to be getting much traction. And you know, I'm not a big Facebook Flash meta fan, so I got to tell you
I'm not sad by this news. Peer jet not that at all. Oh heck no. And there was one more story here that you mentioned that you sent along about artificial intelligence about AI, and basically the gist of it was that AI is not easily explainable or ethical. Can you break that down in a couple of minutes for me? Yeah? Sure. So most of the AI that people are familiar with out there now are these generative models, things
like chat GPT, where they're using large language models. There's some type of large model of data to generate content, whether it's you know, video, audio, whatever. And again, if you just look at chat GPT, because that's probably the most prominent and well known thing out there, They've got this giant database of scrape content, which is which in and of itself is an interesting situation because there are now numerous lawsuits accusing them of stealing the content
they used to train their large language model. So write off the bat. You have potential bias in the data that you've used to train it. You have potential bias in the algorithms the programmers wrote to manipulate that data. And you know, again, I'm not going to pretend like I know everything about the workings of it. And that's one of the things that's put on this
article. No one really does. You know, It's difficult to predict what it will do, but through some sort of statistical wizardry, right, it can predict what words to put together, and admittedly it does a really good job of it in most cases, but it can also hallucinate, right,
that's the official term for the AI. Just make something up. I did a presentation recently where we were demonstrating this to folks and had a realer to say, Okay, have CHATGPT, write me a realtor's description of this property. So I put in the address of a real property and it literally just made stuff up. Literally, like you know, the number of rooms that it had a pool and it didn't, So it's difficult to predict the output. No one really knows exactly how it's doing that, and that's one of
the concerns about it in this idea of hallucination. My advice to people, I can tell you from first hand experience. Cat GPT can be a very powerful tool that can improve your productivity in a number of ways. But I would never ask it to do something for me if I wasn't at least reasonably knowledgeable about the subject already, because you will have a hard time knowing whether it's just making stuff up or not if you don't know anything about something.
So you know, you've got this hole with the black box. We don't really know what it's doing internally. You've got the whole is the day of good? Are the algorithms good? And you know, I have a lot of concerns about this. We've talked about this before. You know, I don't know where it's all going. I really don't think Skynett is going to become aware and wipe us out anytime soon, but I do think the potential for this to be used in ways to drive cybercrime in the old days,
Gary Jeff, you'd hear people like me cl fishing. You know, look for the red flag, like the grammar spat, the punctuation spath. It doesn't make sense what it says. Well, even if I don't speak English. Now I can use a tool like chat GPT to write perfect pros every time. Yeah, Voice Clothing really concerned about that. So, yeah, it's a concern of mine. I don't think we're going to be wiped out anytime soon. But the more people understand about what it can and can't do,
the better off we all are. Well, it's important I check my own work, so I definitely check chat gbt's work if it was working for me, you know what I mean, You definitely should, all right, Dave patter As always thank you, my friend, my pleasure. Morning jingle we used when this guy comes on the Saturday Morning edition. Let me see if I can perfect my best Olivia Newton John for this segment Tonight on the night Kep, Let's get physico physico. Okay, we can still whenever you want you Roco Rocco Costellano Roccocostellano, who is the guy behind Rosanna Fitness five nineteen. Madison, Avenue and Covington also trained with Rocco dot com, a biohacker, a fitness expert, and tonight we're gonna talk about a
derivative of weed. Man, Rocco, how are you doing? Welcome to the nightcap, good man. You know, it's a it's a funny thing. I've never been a big fan of weed or padua whatever the young'ins are are calling it now. I never was a big fan either. It was forced upon me. Oh yeah, I was held down. You didn't in helly though, well at first know, but then I needed to breathe, so you know, okay, mister Clinton, all of them. That's right.
I'm expearimitted, but I'm never inhale. So but we're talking about the medicinal merits and values and the benefits of CBD tonight. Yeah, Well, I want to talk because I don't think that many people really understand a CBD unless you're in the cannabinoid realm with the THHC version, especially with so many different things out there that just throw CBD, you know, like CBD oil, CBD, this CBD. That and most people don't really understand what CBD
is and why we would want to use it. Now, it is a derivative from the hemp plant, correct, correct, right, correct, So thc pot weed, cush the kind bud comes from the same plant that CBD does, but it's a different chemical component, different chemical structure. Right. Well, there's two types, okay, right, So there's a fido Okay, you know, a cannabinoid, right, which is the plant based right, and then then there's the synthetic cannabinoid that's actually made in a lab.
Okay, right, And so like the coronavirus was right exactly exactly, except that we kind of like when the cannabinoid version leaks out, right, And so so what what I really want to go over is that what's cool about CBD is that our body already makes uh like, cannabinoid receptors. Okay, we already have we're equipped with the receptors for cannabinoids, right, and and and there's different ways to get these, uh these are receptors. Excited right
now, You don't just have to take a CBD. Now, that's the that's the big one, that's where you want to But there's other ways to UH to activate these are receptors, and and what the cannabinoid of receptors basically are are a key hole and then there are things that are that represent a key to unlock them. So if you think of it as as a lock, uh, you can you can activate these are receptors in a way that
will will help you more relax and and and also focus. So there are different cannabinoid of receptors, right, like C like c B one is is one of them them, and then a c B two And there's a few other between the two c B one and two. Right. So CB one is mostly in the brain, okay, okay, c B two is mostly in the musculature or in the in soft tissue. Let's just say, okay, now does that mean that all all of them are CB two in the
soft tissue. No, there are CB one, but the majority are going to be CB two in the soft tissue and then a c B one in the brain. What what are the benefits if you UH to CB one, for example, what are the benefits to a person, well, a relaxation one okay, to like to get to a distress that's one of the bigger ones. And then and also inflammation on you know, on your brain, uh, stress causes and cephalopathy and then uh and then also uh your musculature.
Right, So if we go from the CB one to the c B two, right, it will then go to a c B two for for the inflammation you know, enjoyed pain in the musculture and then also a pain relief and this focus too, So a c B one UH receptors also help with focusing, focusing on on stuff. So the same thing with with other th HC version. But THC does not help you focus, does it actually? Actually if you there's certain strains that absolutely they do, yeah, oh
yeah. And but the same thing with the CB with the CBD and especially like there's a company called Elazarus Unnaturals that that are we are upart it up with in in the spot a race, and and they have these gummies that are are absolutely awesome for sleep, right, So if you want to relax before you get high, no, well so, and there's a weird thing too, there's a there's there's a brain high with the THC version and and and there's also a body high too. So that's where the CB UH two
and the c B one come into play. But when you do CBD or cannabinoids, they they actually relaxed the body and help you to focus better or or to concentrate. It's a really when you get down to it, it's a really good idea to look at cannabinoids as as a better pain a reliever because it's working with with stuff that's already in us, in your body. It's an innate a thing that we've already had. So why not work with the body, understand the body, and not have to put all these other
medications, all these pharmaceuticals in our body. What we what I think is really important, Roco, and what I'm gleaning from this is that we have we were built. God made us with CBD receptors in it, correct, So we were made to be able to utilize these these molecular compounds that are natural and synthetic. Like you said, there's some synth, but we were
made to actually receive these in our bodies for a purpose. Yep. And I think that there is nothing on this earth that does not have a purpose, an intended purpose for the benefit. Now, I want to ask you, among your clients, who would you recommend CBD one or CB two two? Well, so with my clients, I always look to a distress and for better sleep, right, because what happens many times is is people will will take a an narcotic, right, or they will take ambient, let's
say, or they'll take something that is that stuff scares me. Well, I've taken ambient before and I just I'm so spacey the next day, you know, and it's just it's not a good fit for me, I don't think. Well, but you know, and the reason why that is is because it literally knocks you out and it does nothing for your sleep. It literally blacks you out. So there is there's no dreaming, there's no rem sleep, there's no slow wave or like deep sleep. You're literally passed out.
It's just like anesthesia. It's an anesthetic, right, And so when you do that, there's nothing going on, you're not resting. But one or two doesn't do that. It doesn't do that. And that's the secret.
And that's why why I'm you know, I've never been like a huge fan of cannabis itself, but when it comes to cannabinoids, I'm I'm getting to be a bigger fan because now because there has been some legalization, there has been more and more studies being done on both on both sides of it, right, So if there's more studies being done and there's more information out there, I want people to uh well, to have access to that information
and and to be using something that the body is asking for it because you can get sometimes the same effect as as a CBD from a dark chocolate, right from really really high uh like yeah exactly, Oh and I do too, And so you can get a so'll have five frequencies in the brain, right, we have alpha, beta, gamma, a delta, theta, right, and so if if you do activate your cannabinoid of receptors, you're gonna you're going to always go into theta in a relaxed state. And so
that's gonna help. That's going to help a lot when you're trying to to get over it and an injury or or a chronic pain. And I would rather again not take a not take a pharmaceutical intervention and be able to do a CBD. Now, you do have to look at the CBD, and you have to research the companies and where you're getting the CBD from, because there's some garbage CBD out there is. Oh yeah, there's a ton of
a garbage out there. So if you look, if you're looking for companies that actually know where they're can of where they're where are the hemp's grown.
If you know, if they're growing it themselves, they're processing it themselves, and they're selling it and a manufacturing of their products, you're they're gonna have a pretty good idea of of of the potstry Because a lot of times and as with any you know, any supplement too, okay, you you will find that there's not the potency or or or what they say is in it may not be in it right a lot of a lot of times, and the FDA does nothing about that. Well who would? But who would someone
check with? I mean, how do you research it with the company, with the company, see if if if they have the testing, because they do have a safety testing, informed testing, it's called informed sport. Uh. So there's testing agencies out there that certify this stuff, like the company Elazarus on Naturals. I don't want to keep plugging them, but you know, I I know about them because I work with them, and I know
where they get their stuff from and you know it's good quality. Yeah, yeah, And I wanted you know, I wouldn't be a saying anything if I didn't think that they were. I remember several years ago there was a gentleman who opened up a CBD kind of outlet in Covington. Yeah, and he's no longer with us, but anyway, he gave us some samples of
CBD shampoo and conditioner. Really took that home and Christa used it and she goes, I just put it on my scalp to wash my hair like I would ordinarily, and said, I can't believe how much the second I got out of the shower, I was just so relaxed. It went right through her scalp. Yeah, and provided that kind of relaxation that you're talking about, and said it was and you know, and I tried it, and yeah, I could tell the difference immediately, just the absorption into the scalp
from the CBD oil. Well, and if you take it on a regular basis, like these gummies that I, uh that I got for my wife, right and this, and I use for my after you know, a really hard workout or something. I'll use their uh like their oil. Yeah, but the you know, like the sleep gummies, I'm done you they you know, they're awesome. They're they're awesome, and well that's all right,
just just tell them that we're busy. I think they heard me talking about it right exactly now, So we got about a minute left here, Rocos. So what's the what's the thing you want to let people know about
CBD? Well, I really want them to start. I really want people, from all the conversations that we've been having a lately, is to really start to think about their own health and learning about how to stay healthy and using things like CBD and and really understand more and don't go to your doctor and go, hey, I'm thinking about taking CBD or that a good idea. Don't do that, yeah, okay, because the doctor's gonna say no, it's it's not a good idea. Okay, unless but do some research
on your own, is what you're telling you. Yeah, I want people to start start looking after their own health, be proactive. Yeah, Because I'm gonna tell you something. If you're you know, I'm here in Cincinnati, there's eighty percent of the people a fat, right. I still it's just it's amazing to me that there's still that many fat people here. There's so many people that smoke it's unbelievable. But CBD will not make you go
on an eating bench. No, no, no, it won't. But I want people to start thinking about their health in in in a way that's going to optimize the health. If you want to find out more about your health, go to train with Roco dot com or visit Resana Wellness there at five nineteen Madison and Covington. Roco. Thank you as all as our time is done. My friend yep hey, Jeff, thank you so much. Flies by, Yes, it really does. More of the nightcap just ahead
and moments on seven hundred WLW. Now you can relive the greatest moments from our twenty twenty three iHeartRadio music, Gostival streaming, Holy On, let me crad it kick things off on Tuesday Night, seven hundred wl W and Gary Jeff Walker sitting down, checking in for another hour and up next is the founder, president and CEO of INVESTUSA and National grassroots nonprofit org that is helping hundreds of communities provide thousands of bullet roof vest for their police forces, educational
public relations, sponsorship fundraising programs. He has over thirty years in law enforcement and his pro police stance for his brothers and sisters in Blue is unqualified. And I mean, there's there's no question about where Michael Lets stands. Michael, Let's good evening. How are you. I'm doing great. Thank you so much for the opportunity. It's always apprivileged to be on your show. Always a great thing to have you, Mike, because of your experience,
and you know how this Hamas tack attack on Israel as really unprecedented. Not since the Holocaust have as many Jews been killed in mass and have been suffering at the hands of a terrorist organization right across their border. And that little tiny piece of land in the Middle East that the Jews called the Promised Land that is their home, and Hamas, which is a terrorist organization obviously funded, financed, and planned by Iran. No matter what the administration says,
we know this. In fact, Hamas admits it, Hesbala admits it. Yeah, Iran has given us the money, they're giving us the information that we need and the planning we need to pull off something like this. And Israel's defense usually has has had a pretty good track record, Michael. Since they're surrounded by people that hate them and want them wiped off. The map, but this has going a step further and now we're talking about two thousand
US troops being deployed for humanitarian reasons or as advisors. We've seen that story before in this country, Vietnam, YEP. Does indeed, how do we and how do these people? Here's the problem. Yes, there are innocent Palestinians, just like they are Is innocent to Israelis and Jews. But the Palestinians elected Hamas to carry their banner to represent them, so you know,
back to the old line, elections have consequences. Well, well, guys, you're kind of getting what you ask for you when you supported Hamas to take over your country in two thousand and six, or your fledgling country or you want to be country. And this is also an area Michael, where no one else. Have you heard any calls from Syria, from Jordan, from Egypt, from Saudi Arabia, you know, we'll take the Palestinians in
in this time of need. No, And there's actually a debate in this country about letting as many as one one million of these people in as refugees. The whole thing's a mess, and basically it's been cooked by a mainstream media that loves the Palestinians but hates Israel for some reason. You've got these college professors who were teaching kids and doctrinating kids to hate Israel and to support the free Palestine. This is not about free Palestine anymore, is it.
It's about homogity. Tell me, talk to me. Yeah, you are exactly right. It's about a loss. It's about this whole left ideology, communistic democratic ideology. It has one goal in mind, and that is control, conquest. They want to control America, they want to control Israel. They want to tell you what to think, and if you don't think, they want to cast the gator pointet you for ban you Ford. So that's
what it's always been about. That's what's about right now with Hamas. Iran is determined to make a world qualified and to impose Islami beliefs all across the world. And because of that, they resent the Jews, they resent Israel for not capitulating to that, and so they have determined to take them off the face of the earth. And guess who else They can't stand us,
the United States of America. So they're setting the stage. This is a precursor and the reason why I say it's a precursor is because of the fact that this administration, the Body administration and the Obama administration set the stage. It's a couple fake that have to happen for you to be successful when the terrorists are what were called guerrilla warfare. First thing, you have to have personnel. Well, Hamas has plenty of them because Iran funds them. In
other words, here's how it works with Hamas. If you're willing to fight for them, they guarantee you that if something happens to you, your family who'll be taken care of for life, they will have a stipend. They have a fund set up for that. Ain't gusmer whose tax dollars happened to good to help fund that fund? Ours do first. Biden administration doesn't want to tell you about that. So they've got plenty of personnel. Same parallel
with America. We have COVID borders. You've got tens of thousands of illegal immigrants who are on the Terrace watch list cross into this country. They're all over the country. They tell you that we don't know where they had, but trust me, we've got to tell just we know where they're at. But they're ready to poise and strike at any point in time, just as they did with Hamas at Israel. Second thing that takes it takes money. Well, guess what, once again, Uncle Sam did the Biden administration six
billion dollars toever yourran, among other things. And so there's plenty of cash there to be able to stage these kind of operations. Third and final thing you need, you need ournaments, Well, once again, here we go this administration make sure that that was capable by leaving eighty six billion behind in Afghanistan, which have shown up now and m and then also it wasn't just the armaments we left in Afghanistan, because we didn't leave missiles and rockets in
Afghanistan. But you sure are funneling those through the Ukraine. Well, guess what, when we had on them to Ukraine, we have no accountability, We have no tracking. So the night they leave American chores, we have no idea whether they're going to Ukraine. Some of them are going to Ukraine. They begin to turn up now in the GAZZSS ship. So they've got everything they need. How did that translate to the US, Well, we've got personnel here now from open borders I will assure you that they can get
people across, they can get armaments across. How there's plenty of cash coming from our own So don't be surprised when you see that America's next on the list. It's not a matter of if it's just a maunt of wins Well, Michael lets and it's not just the six billion dollars that they unfroze in the hostage swap deal, which was ridiculous. But and the administration says that money. They don't have access to that money yet. We can refreeze at
at any time. But that doesn't matter. It means they know they've got it coming, so they can spend the resources they do have to manifest this
terrorism in this murder and mayhem all over the world. Plus the Biden administration's energy policy limiting American production of the own natural resources that we have in spades and propping up Iran's Iran during the Biden administration, in just two and a half years, Iran went from struggling as an economy with all their oil reserves and to now being enriched like they never have been in modern times because of
their oil production. They've gone from about fifteen billion dollars during the Trump administration that they earned in oil money to almost eighty billion dollars two and a half years later. They got plenty of money to finance this mayhem all over the world, with or without this bill, when or without the six billion, Okay, exactly, you know, so you get back to this particular premise. So, yes, it ran through his network, through Hamas has will
isis and all is the tip of the Iceberg spearheaded movement. But it's America that's enabling it. Yep. Our own government is working against his citizens, and it's find that we as Americans wake up and say, you know what, We're just typically not going to tolerate it anymore. People ask me all over the country in the last week, what can we do? I say, the first thing we need to do is we will not comply anymore.
Here's what I mean by that. We could tell our governors on the southern states, especially the Republican ones, we're going to go ahead and finish building them all, and we're going to make sure that no other illegal immigrants come into this country. If you don't like it, federal government, shove it,
come do something about it. We are no longer going to comply with your unconstitutional mandates, because that's the first thing the Constitution requires out of the federal government is to preserve and protect a union and protect the people there in they We have advocated that role, and so we're going to go ahead and step up and make sure that we do it instead. That's the first thing. We have to make sure we support our first responders as well. The
Constitution calls for the federal government to do two things. Provide for the common defense and promote the general welfare, not provide welfare. Promote the general welfare. You provide the common defense of our country. That means our borders, you uphold the laws that are already on the books. And as far as promoting the general welfare, you make sure that you've got a stable economy and currency so everyone has the chance to flourish. It's it couldn't be more simple.
But the government, if the federal government is involved in the Department of Education, the Department of Homeland Security, and all these other things that have nothing to do with the constitutional requirements of what the federal government is supposed to be doing, Michael, and if they just do those two things, those and those two things only not not relocate Albanian beavers from one place to another.
But no, no, If they just provide for the common defense of this country and promote the general welfare, which means being a solvent government, then then we're all good. But they're not doing either one of those things right now. And you mentioned the southern border. How many how many Hamas terrorists do you think have come across that southern border in the last three four
months? Do you have any idea? Do anybody have any idea? I can tell you this, this is document document, and I guess yesterday, over the last two days, we've picked up four Iranians that are on the Terrist watch lists trying to cross. This is one day, this is yesterday, This is not you know, and remember you have to understand we pick up about ten to twenty percent of the people that actually, yeah, we
have no idea. Who's gotten away, who slipped under the cover of darkness through us an open border and with the intent of just waiting their time, biding their time and coming to attack us in another nine to eleven style. You're exactly right. Of course, several of the aliens were pushing hard is we're saying that not only do you need to close the border. But I know this sounds like a call order. It is, but it can be
accomplished. We have got to locate and bring back every illegal immigrants. And the reason why is we're not being harsh. We haven't vetted you. We have no idea whether they're terrorists, whether they're criminals, or whether they're great people. But we need to find out and I guarantee you those that are terrorists, and that our criminals need to immediately deported sent back under guard. For that matter, In America's great wave of immigration in the late nineteenth century
early twentieth century, there was a common choke point. It was Ellis Island, and they have everybody who was coming here from somewhere else had to pass through those gates and many times, you know, they waited for six weeks and then they still were turned away because they did not fit the requirements of what we needed in the country from immigration. The people that are coming through the southern border are Chinese military age, Chinese men. They are from them.
There are Iranians, there are people from the Middle East. This is not about us being hard hearted or racist against people from Central America or southern or South America. This is about the whole world being welcomed in to a porous border and then spreading out throughout the country. It's scary as hell, oh it is. It is to our de minds gets to what to tell folks across the country. You were horrified by what you saw ham due to
innocent civilians. And by the way, these idiots across our country that are saying, oh, Hamas is just fighting for freedom. You don't fight and kill innocent civilians and children for freedom. That's the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard of. If they're horrified at what the images they saw, that's nothing compared to what they want to do this country and their intent on doing it
unless we decide to do something about it. And I can tell you the federal government has advocated responsibility and unless we step up to the plate, we're next provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare of this country, not other countries. And you got to keep your guard up at all times. But we've let it down with the last minute or so we got Michael
Letz tell me about to invest USA real quick. Well, a couple of things they need to be mentioned is of course, you know, we started thirty years ago to make sure every officer had a bulletproof vest. Now we're making sure they have active shoot a vests because they have to stop rival rounds as well, because that's what the element is using to ambush and assassinate our law enforced officers. Any resting. Just in the last few days, we've
had requests from idfrom Israel. Of course, our position has been everything that we provide as for American officers. However, if there is a group who want to support Israel, we'll be happy to and raise money, we'll be happy to send vest over there. Shockingly, it's an outborn. There are people bugging us every thirty seconds to make sure that we get best over to Israel, and we're certainly willing to get into the fray and make sure that
that country gets defended. Michael Letz, thank you so much for being a part of the show again and I hope to talk to you soon if you have time, we'll look forward to it. God bless you, God bless America. God bless you. Michael lets from Invest USA. On a continuing and just chaotic life that we're living these days in the world and what we can do about it breaking back. This is the nightcap on seven hundred WLW. We've all been there mid afternoon and want a little something to eat.
That's when I grab a pack of Uncle Johnny's Eco friendly Earthworm Jerky voted best earthworm jerky three years running. And while I'm enjoying that pure earthworm bliss, I listened to Eddie and Rocky. Earthworms have tons of iron amino acids and as much calcium as chies. Eddie and Rocky or a break from your day with must hear guests, important interviews and always a good time Eddie and Rockey
Moor afternoon at three on seven hundred WLW. Don't miss Zero's carpet and at Our Cleaning's incredible fall sale, get your carpets and upholstering Sane Sun this night cap for this Tuesday night, October seventeenth. Joining us for a few minutes is the guy who occupies his time slot the rest of the week Wednesday and Thursday. Anyway of the host of the Midweek Crisis, Dan Carroll would maybe a little bit of a preview of what's ahead. But I just want to
to talk to to Dan about the issues of the day. He always has good takes and I expect nothing less tonight. So Dan, my man, how are you doing today? Well, Gary, Jeff, I'm great. It's always great to talk to you and always a pleasure to be on your show and whatever we can share airtime together, that's always the best part of my day. Well, I'm hoping on November seventh, we're gonna do We're gonna do a nightcap Midweek Crisis together on election night Tuesday, November seventh.
I just found out because you gave the green light to doing it with me, and I'll hope we'll have good news about Issue one in Ohio and Issue twenty two in Cincinnati. Do you have any thoughts about Issue one just off the top of your eye, Yeah, I do, And I'm glad you brought that up because I'm going to talk to my buddy Gary Klick about that
and probably on Thursday on the Thursday night edition of The Midweek Crisis. And the I keep seeing the television commercials for the vote the vote yes on Issue one, and it's just amazing the flat out lies that they tell about this issue and the and the constitutional amendment that they want to change Ohio's constitution, and they're talking about the government getting involved in your decisions and all the rest
of it. But the way they put it out there, they try to confuse the issue and try to you know, they put up all these people as I'm a conservative and I'm voting against the I'm voting in favor of this issue because I don't want the government doing this, that and the other thing. Well, it's so much phony blooney. And I would like to think that the people that listen to your show and the people that listen to my show are are pretty well informed and they have a pretty good idea of what
is what. But it's it's all the it's all the rest of the idiots who vote you got to worry about, Dan, Well, that's that's it. I mean, you know, you and I are preaching to the choir. But I mean, this is the platform that we have, and I'm going to use a platform to get get the message out there and get what I believe out there is the right way to vote on this. And my buddy Gary Klick says vote no in November, and uh and and I think
that's a good thing. To remember vote no in November and spread that word far and wide. And the other thing, especially on the Wednesday Night Show, is I don't know about you, but I was a little bit surprised to see this notion that Joe Biden is going to go visit Israel. Are you surprised by that at all? Well? No, I mean, it's it's what I guess protocol would dictate, because you know, and he's being pushed by you know, the behind the scenes forces who are really in control
of the country right now to make this this photo op gesture. But there there's absolutely zero that Joe Biden can do except give, uh, give as much aid to Israel as possible and not not welcome more than a million Palestinian refugees from the Gaza. And for God's sake, we've got enough of them flowing across the southern border right now. Dan, Oh, sure we do.
But but you know, my first thought when I heard this news last night, and I've got I've got on a great guest who's going to come on and talk about this, my buddy d W. Wilber, who writes for town hall dot com. But you know, I was thinking about this, and you know, I'm thinking, Okay, here's Joe Biden, this great statesman, This this chisler who sold out his country so he can enrich himself and his family at the cost of America's dominance and respect around the world.
This great foreign policy ex Joe Biden, the great military tactician, Joe Biden, the great united of not only the United States but the entire planet. Joe Biden, the well known and documented liar and plagiarists, the same Joe Biden who has brought his country's economic situation to the brink of total devastationst
fight with Janet Yelli says, did you know what Janet Yellen said? She did an interview with Sky News the other day and is really showing herself to be completely delusional, saying that Joe Biden is vibrant and brilliant and that America is well positioned to fight multiple wars. Those words actually came out of her time. She is She is saying what the World Monetary Fund wants her to
say. For God's sake, that's all she says. She is a puppet just like Biden is, so of course she's parroting these lines that everybody can obviously see are not true. And here we go, Dan. Here's the thing. Joe Biden, by more than one observer, has been called the person who has been wrong about every single foreign affairs decision in the country's history. While he has been in Washington, d C. He's never been right about anything with foreign policy. Why would you think he would be able to
get it right this time? He can't. But that was Don That was Donald Rumstock and who said that. What to think that Joe Biden is going to go to Israel have a talk with Benjamin Netanyaho Netan Yahoo, who was in elite special operations as a soldier for Israel. He was on Ya who was on the team that rescued a hijacked jet plane at the Tel Aviv airport in nineteen seventy two. Yep, Benjamin Nettan Yah, who fought in the Yam Kapoor War. Joe Biden thinks he's going to tell Netton Yahoo how he
should carry out military operations to take out Hamas. It is an absolute joke. I mean, this thing has disaster written all over it. And it's going to be interesting, I think to see how the media and the sycophants who surround this guy are going to cover this and as it relates to reality, because what we get from the media and what we get from the supporters of Joe Biden is anything but reality, and so it's going to be interesting.
I think Gary Jeffen I'll be talking about this on Wednesday and Thursday, definitely on the midweek crisis. Jim Jordan, how this is being played out in the media. Dan, Jim Jordan today failed another vote in the House of Representatives to become the next Speaker of the House. You know, Jeffries came. Jeffries got more votes than Jim Jordan did in the vote this afternoon. And obviously the Democrats are in the minority in the House, and yet
the Democrats all stick together like they always do. What do you think about the Republican infighting? Is it good for the country? Is it good for the party? Or should we see more solidarity from the Republicans so we can have a Speaker of the House and actually do things effectively as regards Israel and defeating Hamas and all of the things that need to be taken care of.
What do you think of this speaker's race as it drags out well, you know, it's it's long been the case that the one thing that Democrats do, and to their credit, is they stick together. They all sing from the same playbook, they all get the same talking points. They very rarely do you see an independent, independent Democrat deviate from what the DNC talking points are. The Republicans are working in DC right now as hard as they can
to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. It is amazing to me how they can put themselves in all the hard work that went into getting themselves in a position of power. I really didn't have a problem with the multiple votes that it took McCarthy to cement his leadership position. Now that he's out of there, you know, those Republicans who worked with Democrats to get him out
of there did not think about what comes next and this whole episode. And look, if Jim Jordan is a speaker, that's going to be fine with me. But the way they're going about it is an absolute clown show. And they should They do deserve all the slings and arrows and the critiques that they are getting right now for being disorganized and not being able to you gum
and walk at the same time, flash. I had to November seventh again, Dan, when we will be together on election night disseminating results from the polls in an off year election. Do you think that the citizens of Cincinnati should sell the rail line and give people like ap tab pure Ball and the rest of the politicians and the bureaucrats all this chunk of money because we're being sold this bill of goods that it's going to go to infrastructure and fire departments
when most of it is earmarked for more green infrastructure. And how much time do we have for this segment? Don't get me We have me, Dan, You're on the clock. There's a minute left. Don't get me started. Because look, the very first day I saw this, the first person I called on this was Chris Smithment, the one time vice mayor. And if there's a better spokesperson on this issue for explaining why this is not a
good idea, I don't know who does it better than Chris Smithment. But when you look at and let's just talk about for a second here, that the power that this is going to create if you've got one point six billion dollars which is not going to be in the hands of the city Council, but it's going to be in the hands of a board appointed by the mayor. Why do we want to open that door or provide that avenue for absolute
corruption? Given the recent history that we have with members of Cincinnati City Council and people at Cincinnati, why do we even want to open the possibility that that this this board that's going to be in charge of And look, I'm glad we live in a town where one six point six billion dollars Dan, Dan, but that can be printertive, pissed away and the relative blink of an eye. And just for that reason alone, I don't think it's a
good idea. You'll you'll have all night tomorrow to talk about it, Dan Carroll Midweight Crisis tomorrow night at nine o'clock and Thursday night at nine o'clock. Dan, thanks for being part of Carrol's corner tonight on the Nightcap. That's it. A few thoughts to wrap up as we continue in moments on seven hundred WLW. I'm scott'sloan here, and you don't need me to tell you
about the fast paced world we live in. Right. Sometimes it's so fast and so hectic you may miss part of my show, but don't sweat it. If you do, you can always catch the podcast on the iHeartRadio app and here what you missed. It's perfect listening for when you're on the toilet, or at a funeral, or when you're around people you want to ignore.
Now you can relive the greatest moments from our twenty twenty three iHeartRadio Music Festival, streaming Holy Owed Money. As we close in on midnight and the finale of this nightcap, you're on seven hundred WLW, just a few final thoughts and a personal programming note my friend Karen Kataline, the host of Spouting Off Karencataline dot com. You've heard her so many times on the show. I have a great rapport in chemistry. We love to talk to each other.
It's always a lot of fun and it's very serious at the same time because we talk about all the geopolitical issues that surround us, the cultural issues, and how the country has pretty much been sold down the river by the people in charge in the establishment. So Thursday, October fifth, I'm just going to share with you the text thread here I said, Karen, when you can get in touch about next week and your availability that's Thursday, October
fifth, Friday October sixth I hear back from her. Hope you've been doing well, same time as last week. Could work because it's right after my show. I said, perfect, great talk to you. Then then the invasion happened, the Hamas invasion, and the atrocities occurred in Israel, where babies were ripped out of women's wombs and beheaded. Women were raped and either killed or taken into captivity, or maybe they were killed and then raped by
these animals the supposed seventh. Hey, Gary, Jeff, I hope this is enough notice for you. I really need to take a break from our visits on the radio for now. I know you will understand. I'm wishing you and christa well as always. Thanks very much, I said, I do understand. I will miss you. Thanks for letting me know, and just wanted a chance to talk to her off air after that. This is yesterday and ask you know I miss your voice. I told her, I
said, sometimes we can talk off the air. She said, I appreciate that, but with all respect, I'm not much in a mood to socialize lately. I wish you and christ the great blessings. So this has wide ranging ramifications and effects that go far beyond Israel. Karen Katalene is a proud Jewish woman. She she studies and she reads the Torah and the country that
her as a Jewish person, that is her home on earth. She could go there at any time, and I know she knows many many people in Israel, many Jewish people in Israel, and so I definitely understand how she is feeling these days. I wonder if she's even doing her own shows, because it would be hard for me to have my country, my family, people who like me attacked in such a vicious way and still managed to go
on, especially immediately in the aftermath of that. So my thoughts in prayers are with Karen Katalene and with Jews all over the earth and in Israel, and my support certainly with them as well. There are so many things about what is going on right now that are they have biblical ramifications and they've been prophesied, and I believe that we are at that juncture in human history.
But my thoughts and prayers mostly my prayers out to my friend Karen Katalene, and hopefully at some point she will be able to feel like she can join us again on future nightcaps, but for now, again my heart just goes out. We finish the program like we finish all of these programs in which I host, by playing the national anthem. To honor America, the Star Spangled Banner, and in support of Israel, America's greatest friend in the Middle East. Here we go the Stars and stripes. Seven hundred WLW
