It's currently sixty nine degrees and our next update is that six thirty. I'm Whitney Harris, News Radio seven hundred WLW News twenty four hours a day, News Radio seven hundred WLW. Jeff Wellernissan dot Com into the first official hour of this Saturday morning edition for this Saturday, July sixth, twenty twenty

four. Hey, how GJ Dubbs in the big chair, and once again we are together? And cuckooka chew and all of that six O six eastern that is, And something's in the air. Bald headed birds and dirty underwear, that's what's in the air. Man, take away the trees, the birds, take away their wine. Walk to get around and take away the bird and dirty look at those dirty words. Take away all right, it's time for day from Harrison. Who's done. Not got an issue with birds,

but I think there's an issue with bunnies. There are a lot of bunnies in the backyard where Dave lives. Hi, Dave, Hey, how are we doing there? You've got lots of you got a lot of bunnies in the backyard. I got bunnies in the backyard. They're hopping around everywhere. Did you did you? Everyone? Did you have anything to do with

that? Because I know your dresses the easter bunny. Sometimes maybe you went on some kind of great replication spree last spring, not that I know, okay, but a little bit of noob Creek a little bit of Knob Creek and you'll you'll forget everything. That's probably true. Yes, what's going on? How is your Fourth of July kind of soggy? But you know, independent, so we're blessed. How about yours? Independs, it depends. There you go. That's a good way to spend. Yeah, didn't really

didn't really leave the house. I'll tell you that Fourth of July is my favorite holiday. Thanksgivings a close second. But this year it's not that I wasn't feeling. We sat and we watched the Story of Us, which is the story of America, the country from its inception and the declaration of Independence to pretty much modern day. And that was that was fun. It was kind of a way to celebrate the Fourth of July. We did have hot dogs and there you go, the accouterments. We had Fourth of July type

food. And I had to get up too early to watch fireworks, so I just heard them. Yep, understood, Gary, Jeff Dave, did you hear did you hear about the corduroy the new corduroy pillows? I have a feeling I'm going to no, I did not hear about the new corduroy pillows. Dave tell me, well, they're making headlines alliver, all of How about the uh the uh male carrier chicken? I just got it. What what was this? The male What did you hear about the male carrier

chicken? No, I've heard of carrier pigeons. I've never heard of a carrier chicken, a male carrier chicken. Yeah, apparently she worked for fat eggs. That that that is, that is that is unfortunate, not funny, and all those other all those other things that we kind of rail on you every once in a while. For Dave, that was bad, all right, very it was very bad. Well it's nationally, it's regional. Could be worth today, so it could be worth Okay, there's one more

chance. Yeah, I know. What are what are twins favorite fruits? What are the favorite fruits of twins? Yes? What pairs jokes told by day from Harrison are not necessarily considered funny by the staff, management, or advertisers of seven hundred WLW or his parent company, iHeartMedia. If these attempts at humor have caused you to roll your eyes, made your stomach churn, or you have considered the entire exercise to be a colossal waste of time.

We deeply apologize. Now back to our irregular programming. Willie is the perfect role model for our kids. He's the perfect role model for everyone. Remember, my friend Willy is here for you. Every time I hear him speak, I feel all tingly. I get tingly too. Let me help ease your concerns, keep you informed. I love listening, but I don't get tingly. Really well, maybe a little tingly open your ears then hear my

mighty words of hope. Bear Cunningham, Monday at twelve noon on seven hundred w l W. Two Guys brings twenty Central podcast for the twenty twenty four Paris Olympics. Hohen Yang and Matt Rogers hosting new podcast Sell Me Still. I haven't gotten the proper walk up music for Rick Washburn yet old Radio Rick. But I'm just that that kicked in and I started seeing you in drag and I had I had to take a moment. Oh hey, I got my my annual haircut just two weeks ago. Leady alone twice a year,

whether I need it or not. Okay, Oh man, I'm just imagining you with the makeup in the wig and why why would you do that? I don't know anyone do that because I like to be cruel to myself. That's the reason I would do that. So I was what and you were witnessed to the fact that I was once invited to a nudist colony. I'm like, why which you would invite me? I mean the people who are

in nudist colonies. I'm sorry if you're listening in the buff this morning, but the people in nudist colonies should never be naked anywhere, even in the privacy of their own homes. The people, and some of us, some of us know this, nudist are traditionally some of the most misshapen, just physically unattractive people in the world. Sorry, nudist, no offense intended at all. If you're a newtist and you're listening, please pick up and dial

the phone and tell me how you think you look naked? Oh what have you done? So? How are you receiving us this morning? And why are you receiving us this morning? Radio? Rick? Why why are you bothering Hey? So I think Bill Holton, Maryland is clearing out a actually

a museum that tie tied to government and military and so forth. And I'm embarrassed to say I don't even remember exactly what that museum was, But in desperation to keep things from going to the landfill, I grabbed a few things to resell for him and for the museum effort to close down, and so forth. And this there was this. It was a rectangle that was in

a like an oversized Pellow case for lack of a better description. And I opened it up, and Marie, when she saw it, reminded me of one of her great contributions, Why do I have trouble with that word? To the radio repair process? Which is her unlimited list of expletives always on the ready. She's something that thing, And it was like a cartoon character with just punctuation coming out of their mouth. Wow, because this thing looks

like it just came out of the showroom. It looks brand new. It's nineteen thirty six e M Sergent Company Model eleven UA, known as the Universal. It's from Oakland, California. Now it's a five tube communications receiver. And now that think about this five tubes on Well, it's a TRF set, which is the predecessor to the superheterodyne, and it wasn't really used in design very much in nineteen thirty six and after. It does have regeneration.

And for the three of you that go, oh cool and good for you, that's awesome, you're the students. But this thing has ten bands as AM and nine short wave and long wave bands, and long wave is below the AM band, So where AM starts at five point fifty, typically long wave is like two hundred to five hundreds, this thing goes down to eighteen kilohertz and all the way up to thirty megahertz, which is past CB radio.

Now the really really low end. I don't know if it still is or not, but I think it's still used to communicate with submarines because that very very low frequency is used to communicate through water and underwater. And so for the work's the best. The slight disadvantage you'd need a antendant that's about the size of Well, Texas, but maybe Alaska. Lower the frequency, the bigger the staff. Oh you're gonna have fun with that, aren't it. Oddly enough, this thing is not a it's not a boat anchor.

It only weighs thirty five pounds, which honestly really isn't that much beautiful metal cabinet and I don't know. Okay, so let's go to the operating operating manual because I couldn't find a catalog and no entry. But highly flexible, extremely sensitive, selective, quantet, easy to operate, universal and application. These receivers are recognized leaders in the field. A couple of things. Highly flexible, it's a solid steel cabinet. Yeah, no, Simon Simon bials,

Simone Biles is highly flexible. This is not that, no. Now, extremely sensitive and selective is interesting because TRFs are not known for that. They're like the old three dial radios from the twenties and so forth. They sound fantastic, don't get me wrong, but if you've got two strong stations that are close together on the dial, it's a real challenge to get them separated one from the other. They Sergeant Company, got over all of that.

Now, when you say the radio is quiet, I don't know that the opositative thing except for the seven people that understood that meant to say, there's not a lot of background noise again because of TRF and it's and it really is. It is an amazing set and most of it the innovation used to come up with a design that they put together for this seventy five dollars radio in nineteen thirty six, you know, about seventeen hundred bucks today for

amateur radio users. It was mostly just to avoid having to pay RCA for all the superheterodyne patents that were required, and that's what put a lot of companies out of business. And it also actually created the Zenith Radio Company because they were created by three or four different radio companies that couldn't come up with the money to pay for the patents, so they pulled the resources and became just one entity. A very interesting stuff, as all was old radio.

Myheart's yacht Rock Radio goes commercial free every weekend mid eighties for a high but low humidity. Sunday looks very similar, just a little warmer. We'll top out in the

upper eighties from a severe weather station. I'm nine First Warning Meteorologist Cameron Harten on news Radio seven hundred WLWN WLW Sport Liam Tomlinson, my friend. What we got on the hot stove? Big Game at TQL Stadium tonight as SC Cincinnati host inner Miami intern Miami has been without Lionel Messi or Luis Suarez the last couple of weeks due to COPA America play, but Miami has continued to get positive results, keeping them ahead of the Orange and Blue and gotta take

advantage of gotta take advantage of them. Well, Messi's off the pitch man. You got to win this game. If you're FC Cincinnati, with a win tonight, the Orange Blue would be in first place and in sole possession of the Supporters Shield, and with they control their own destiny for the last two or three months of the season. The game tonight is at seven thirty and it is a sold out crowd. I gues so you can listen to that on ESPN fifteen thirty starting at seven. The Olympics are in twenty days.

The Olympics are in twenty day. You are engine on ESPN. Are you doing the FC Cincinnati game tonight? Of course I've been locked in all season long. So I'm gonna ask you a question. Liam, did you or I know she's probably not listening, did you or did you not forget your girlfriend's birthday four days ago? I wouldn't call it forgetting her birthday. I knew her birthday. It's just it was like one of those long mornings, you know, wake up here, come here, wake up at like

three point thirty in the morning after getting to sleep the night before. It doesn't matter But the thing is, I may I woke her up to take me to work because I've been without a car. So I woke he up at like four am. Happy happy birthday, honey. And then she picked me up from work. And there's so many context clues that like, Oh, why your sister got you DoorDash sushi. That's super nice. That's super random, And oh, your mom's making your favorite dinner tonight. Oh that's

cool. I got to go home and take care of the horses and walk the dog, and I just wasn't. So you're you're about his president. You're about as present as President Biden. Basically, mentally, the acuity is just not firing on all cylinders, is what you're telling me, Not at all. I've been lost. So I mean, how did you finally smooth things over? Because you still have a girlfriend, right, I don't know

if things are smooth over. I mean I took her to a nice dinner, little gifts, I probably a little gifts for the next year and a half, maybe longer. See that you don't forget the birthday. You don't forget I didn't forget her. Here's three things. Three things you don't forget. You don't forget anniversaries. Ever. You don't forget birthdays, and you

don't forget the little clues. And this is where I have problem. My wife always does me right at Christmas time and my birthday, but I because she's shopping through the year, I'm not aware enough of the little clues she gives me about what she'd like for Christmas, and I always to have to eat it out of her. Then you don't do that. But you don't forget anniversaries and birthdays ever. Liam, Well, I didn't forget her birthday. I just didn't realize the date was July second. I thought it was

like June thirty second more than it was July second. She just came back from the Rolling Stones concert the night before in Chicago, So it's like kind of like a It was just like I didn't forget her birthday. I knew it was her birthday. I just didn't realize it was July second that day. If you get what I'm saying, you forgot her birthday is what you're saying. I just didn't realize the date. I didn't forget it was her birthday on July second. I know her birthday, and I knew it was

coming up. I just didn't. I mean, it was July already. It's already July. It's crazy. Let this be a lesson learned for you. Don't do that again. It's all about lessons and learning, is it not? Because without a girlfriend you wouldn't have a ride, you know what I mean? Liam? Yeah, seriously, without a girlfriend you wouldn't have a ride. Yeah, I have no way to get I've been in that situation before, lost a girlfriend, lost the ride. It's it's not you

know, it's not a good place. They have great public transportation. You know the bus I can hop on. Oh, I hate it to the government square here. I hate the bus almost as badly as I hate nudist colonies. So let's take a break and come back. At six twenty six, at seven hundred WLW, here's what's trending from the Iheartsports Network presented by

Draft Kings Fantasy Sports. The Orlando Magic had made headlines signing small forward Franz Vogner to a five year, two hundred and twenty four million dollars contract extension. In Major League Baseball, the Detroit Zaggers took the lead in the third inning and the Reds couldn't complete the comeback as they fall a run short of signing things up in the ninth inning, and rewards say that the Ohios Date Bud guys looked to be in the lead the land four star linebacker Riley Petty

Merle? We'll make a deal, all right. Well, with all that exciting news, there's the rest of it here for Brookies Tonight, last shot band at nine o'clock and of course on Wednesday, the Queen of Hearts is rolling again and that should be well off with over thirty six thousand dollars. And I understand that you may be headed this correction. Uh, there's

a possibility. I'm not being as forthcoming with my daily movements as I used to be because I was warned by someone that people are watching so and most of them are watching on Facebook posts. So I really I really need to uh, I really need to play this closer to the vest. I may or may not come to Ripley tomorrow. It's it's leaning on. Yes, definitely coming, but I just don't know that I want everyone to know this. Doug, Well, we'll try to keep the Papa Rossi away well now

By the way, I appreciate the uh the picture of the beaver in his bathing suit? Yeah, how about that? You like that little rest with the tigers on it? Saturday Morning edition seven hundred WLW Gary Jeff and it is time to check in with our friend from Edna, Ohio, Steve Simon, with news of the week

in this pithy phone call. Good morning, Stephen, Good morning Gary, Jeff Page one vaccine, Thank you, Paul Harvey vaccine, Shenanigan's jab the European Union. I love this story. What goes around comes around an alleged bribery deal with European Commissioned President Ursula Vanderlan and Phiser drug CEO al Borlov who

bribed whom over the EV's purchase of COVID nineteen jabs. My goodness, Ah Pheiser, the boys who knew they hadn't approved COVID vaccine five days before the twenty twenty US election, but sat on the announcement until after the Trump Biden contest because President Trump had criticized Big Pharma for gouging patients. A truly international

medical mafia. Love that story. Does anyone true believe that if Joe Biden instead of Donald Trump were up several points in these presidential polls, that we'd be talking about removing Biden from the Democrat socialist ticket. Of course, not with the Democrats, they are always laser focused on one thing winning the country. Be damned, we've got to save the Democrat party. Look at the

way Democrats nominate judges and justices. They never make a mistake and hire someone who isn't progressive in his or her gut, so they never get surprised by one of theirs going rogue. Not so with Republican presidents. Eisenhower put Earl Warren on the US Supreme Court and then compounded a felony with the appointment of William Brennan, a liberal Democrat from New Jersey and a darling of organ labor.

Nixon and Ford gave US lefties Harry Blackman and John Paul Stevens. George Bush the first gave US liberal David Suitor, and appointed future Supreme Court Justice Sonia Soda Mayor to the federal bench in New York City. Oh my gosh, it gets worse. Ronald Reagan fostered the political ascendancy of Eric Holder by appointing him to the DC Superior Court. Republicans apparently don't know what the word vetting means. Soda Mayor has admitted that she would never have gotten into Princeton

and Yale Law School without affirmative action. She proved these this week. She is no genius when she wrote a dissent in the Donald Trump Immunitied decision. Like Justice Jackson, she has trouble understanding definitions. Jackson doesn't know what a woman is. Soda Mayor doesn't know the difference between a president's official actions and actions outside the domain of commander in chief. John Roberts, the Chief Justice

does. He points out that any president, whether it was Biden or Trump, is immune from prosecution for acts delineated by the Constitution to the chief executive and not otherwise shared with Congress. How damn difficult is that, Sonya. There is much irony here. Soda Mayor is a child of the Obama Biden regimes. Ooh, wait a minute, it was Barry Obama who authorized the murder of a US citizen suspected of being a terrorist. That assassination was carried

out overseas. That is a violation of US law and is an act definitely not delleneated in the US Constitution as being within the scope of presidential powers. Put him in jail. We have two prominent ways of getting rid of presidents who overstep legal bounds. Impeachment and the ballot box. As for their extracurricular activities, there are criminal and civil courts, and that system for keeping chief executives in line has worked pretty damn well until recently, Thank you Democrats,

and Biden just keeps on violating the Constitution. Another reason SODO mayor might do well to keep her mouse shut. This week, the puppet came out with federal rules that demand that emergency room docs give abortions to those who demand it. If Biden had read the recent Supreme Court ruling that overturned Roe v. Wade, or if Biden could read, he'd simply know that this is a prerogative of the states now and not Washington, d c. If you want

this rule to apply to your state, go for it. But the rules should not come from bumbling Biden's desk. Case Number two where Biden overstepped his bounds is his proposal for workplace rules during the president heat emergency in various states. These rules are not relevant nationwide because the heat wave is not nationwide. Secondly, companies and government offices already have these rules. Third because climate varies

among the states, naturally, it's properly a state issue. Number four, Biden forgets that temperature related deaths are primarily related to cold weather, not warm weather. Ninety four percent of temperature related deaths in this country are cold weather related, absolutely, and should trust the opinion of a dysfunctional brain in DC to give us advice on anything. Gosh, I hate to mention this, but who has a record of taking care of its workers better? Any entity

outside of our capital or Joe Biden. I'm thinking the families of those thirteen servicemen killed at the Kabul airport would question Biden's concern about workers' safety their family member was working for Joe Biden. Congressman James Clyburn of South Carolina is credited by many with giving US President Joe Biden. Cliburn, who is two years older than Biden and has been in Washington thirty two years much too long, said this week, Biden's ability with words may not be very good, but

his thoughts are good. I did not know that clairvoyance came from being a member of the House of Representatives, but in Jim's case it extends to vice presidents. Also, because Cliburn says, if it comes to that, Tommy Harris will do a great job, and nobody else better get in her way. Read that the black lady checks two boxes. Doesn't all this DEI make

you feel warm and fuzzy about competency in the workplace. Speaking of Press Secretary and chief apologist Karinn, John Pierre use the phrase a bad day no fewer than a dozen times this week in describing Biden's wacko performance last week at that so called debate. Are we all agreed? Having Jean Pierre lepieu vouch for you is like having the piano player in a brothel vouch for your chastity. Fine, thank you, thank you, thanks rum roll. Finally, a

comment about fil fuels and how we won World War Two. Donald Miller in Masters of the Air points out that Hitler invaded Russia and Japan invaded China to get control of their oil, which the bad boys desperately needed. They failed in both attempts, thank god. Meanwhile, the US was the world's only industrial and oil superpower, producing more oil than all of the other nations on Earth combined. Our enemies controlled only three percent of the world's oil output.

Hooray, I say for fossil fuels, and by the way, definitions, it's not a bad day, it's a bad term, Joe, take care of yourself, Jeff, yep, thank you, Steve, and I think the term is terminal at this point, a breaking back. Gary Jeff Walker. All the King's horses, all the King's men couldn't put Humpty Dumpster Fire back together again? Hello, mister President, Yeah that's you. Uh huh, where's your wife? I need to talk to somebody who understands something. Oh my goodness, that's that's his new name. Joe's new name is Humpty dumpster fire because he has definitely fallen off the wall switching gears. Let's talk to environmental engineer Steve Shulty. I see true so green red

roses. I've seen them blue following you, and I think to myself what I wander for? Indeed, let's talk to mister Shulty and uh, now would be the time? Seven oh six. Good morning, Stephen. How are you? Good morning, Garrett? Yeah, excuse me better than I deserve as usual. Yes, yes, sir. Uh, you're talking about coal this morning and talking about myths about coal. We've heard that coal is dirty. It is it is hurting our air, it is killing the planet.

It kills people because of how to mine coal. And it's this old image of people down in the mines working twelve hour shifts and coming home with black lung that people still have in their their heads when they think about coal. And it's just not that way anymore, is it. Well, no, my wife actually put me on this. She was watching a program the other day and I got home she says, uh, it must have been a commercial. So the site is called the Coal which is col the coalhardtruth

dot Com. So a bed that the site the other day, and I'll just talk about few of the myths. One of the myths says that coal doesn't bring any benefits to society today. Not so fast. It says, derived from coal the major source of affordable electricity, developing countries will struggle to rise out of poverty to improve the quality of life. And also, coal remains the largest source of electricity in the world today, accounting for thirty five

percent of the total world supply. And we still have seven hundred and seventy four million people in the world without access to electricity, and of course they're going to need abundant affordable coal. We still have billions more Gary jeff that used less electricity per day than the average United States refrigerator. So that's one of the myths. Another one renewable energy technologies are carbon free. To build

them. To build a massive infrastructure needed for renewable power generation, a substantial amount of materials and energy is required. For example, one mega wat of onshore wind capacity requires hundreds of tons of steel and concrete, which requires hundreds of tons of coal or produced. In fact, if anybody's familiar with steel production. Uh, steel production needs coke, and coke comes from coal.

So on all these there's technologies out there to decarbonize things, but they are very much in the early stage of development and it'll be decades before they're around. Uh, there's no reason we should be using fuel fossil fuels today or any future. It just it says, not so fast. Look around your

home and workplace. Most manufactured products that are our everyday lies that are created from derivatives of fossil fuels, coal, steel, cement, medicines, water filtration, fertilizer, as many other products are taken for granted, often reliant coal. At some point and right now, Gary Jeff In a single year, the average US person uses nearly three thousand pounds of coals. Another myth is the transition to renewable energy will accomplish with little impact on the environment.

Not so fast. It says. Renewable power needs approximately ten times more land than fossil fuels per unit power produced, So there's some problems there. And then on this one's from the International Energy Agency, not exactly any conservative organization, no, no right wingers there to reach goals renewable use, it is estimating the supply of just nickel, graphyte, and lithium will need to increase by nineteen times nickel, twenty five times for graphite, and just forty two

times for lithium as compared to today. This will require enormous increase in mining dustrial activity that uses large amounts of fossil fuels to extract, process, and transport the materials and Gary jeff just like we always mention these materials are mined and areas of the world where child labor, force labor, and slave labor are used, as well as the lack of common lack of just any decent environmental protection, and last but not least, to achieve a carbon free electrical

supply system by twenty thirty five, we only need to replace fossil fuels with renewables. That's what we got to do, not so fast. To achieve this scenario where solar and wind provide the majority of electricity in twenty thirty five,

the existing transmission capacity might need to triple one size. This will require installation of ten thousand miles of new transmission lines every year starting in twenty twenty six, and just as a point of reference, Gary Jeff in twenty twenty three, the United States installed only two one hundred miles of new transmission lines.

Bottom line, the hocus pocus of renewable energies as just that focus pocus and a hoax, no question, and seven EV charges after one point eight billion dollars or eight point one billion dollars, seven said they built seven EV charges. Thanks Steve, appreciate the call and the information. As always the Coolehardtruth dot Com. Listening to a man winching a piano to the third floor is in fire. I started by setting a quit date. Then I threw out my ash trays, lighters, and matches. I did other things too, like exercising more, and it worked, but I'd still get cravings, especially on long car rides. To help me with that, I put a picture of my mother in my car. Gary? Jeff? I just wanted to clarify something that Dovetails. Dovetail's Steve fromentna's excellent commentary about what emergency physicians after being one after having practice emergency medicine for forty

years, that what emergency physicians do and don't do regarding abortions. Emergency physicians do not perform elect elective abortions. They we diagnose and manage miscarriages or threatened miscarriages, and we can in case of a sexual assault and rate issue oral medication for emergency contraception. But we are not standing there in the emergency department with section machines ready to perform elective abortions on people just walk in and say

I want to you know, an abortion that doesn't happen. That's not part of that wasn't That's not part of the training of emergency physicians. Well, I don't consider abortion medical care at all. So well, yeah, but yeah, you're right. I mean you were there to help in a traumatic emergency situation. Correct, And any elective procedure is not an emergency procedure.

Correct, Yeah, exactly, exactly. You know, Biden says, I think he said, Oh I've heard him say, oh, women are going to can't get or turned away from emergency departments when they go there for it'll try to get an abortion. That just totally well, totally incorrect and mischaracterizes what emercy. Joe Biden says a lot of things, and most of them

are not valid. And now we're understanding the reason why Tom Davis diaries on a Saturday morning with wild, wacky stories from around the country and around the world. Here is Tom Davis, Tom, Good morning, Gary, Jeff. It's happy birthday America, and we're celebrating by highlighting some of its dumbest citizens. First up, Aliah Jones, who called nine to one one to ask if the cops could come to change her flat tire. And here's the

thing. An officer with good intentions did turn up to help her, but when he got to the car, he found drugs, a boyfriend under the influence, unconscious in the passenger seat, and that she was also under the influence. So this lady's high, she's hauling drugs. She calls the cops for help, and all this happens in McCracken, Kentucky. A woman who worked at Pennsylvania All these is behind bars. After an employee evaluation didn't turn out the way she liked. She was told that she needed to pick up

the productivity and that set her off. She became unhinged, going around the store destroying things. And this is my favorite part, because all these is so full of great deals. The total cost of her violent outburst was thirty eight dollars. Now this one's not so much dumb people, just dumb luck. A house in Colorado Springs was narrowly saved from a fire after the smoke alarms went off in the kitchen. The family jumped into action put the fire

out. After that, there's a bit of a mystery as to how the fire started. So they went to the videotape and saw that it was an eager puppy who accidentally turned on the stove and finally a true American treasure, Stacy Smith, who called police saying that her friend's car had been stolen with her baby inside, a bone chilling moment no mother would ever want to face.

Luckily, Stacy didn't have to because she's not a mother. When they found the car and not the baby, she admitted she only claimed to have a child in the car to turbocharge the investigation. Well, it worked, but she's been arrested for filing a false police report and is now being housed in one of America's finest facilities. Last night at Great American Ballpark, the Reds entertaining the Detroit Tigers,

down five to two. We get to the ninth inning and what transpires, Liam, Yeah, the Reds were down five to two thanks to giving up four home runs throughout the ball game, and the Reds entered the bottom of the ninth with an Lly single to get it started, and then he stole second base. Imagine that me La de la Cruz got on and stole second base. That never happens. Breaking. I believe that was breaking. I don't know. No one had any clue on the field or in the

stadium. And then Ellie got the third on a ball Candelario struck out Spencer Steers single to right to left center, and Ellie scored on that. The next play, Nick Martini tripled to right, Spencer Steeers scored, so with one out, we have a runner on third. Blake Dunn runs for Nick Martini and Tyler Stevenson's been up up to bat and he's been pretty solid late.

Blake Done is out at home on a short hop to third, and if you watch the replay you could you could argue that his hand was under the tag, but it was a bang bang play runners out and then nolv Marte singled to center, so there was runners on first and second with two outs and Santiago has been all grounded out tend the game and the Reds fall short. Great to be with you as always, and it's always nice to know this guy is on standby with all kinds of sci fi and science information, the science Mike with a Science Minute. Surprising and now binding me. You actually are the science guy, that Bill Ny guy. And you know, I have no idea how he can even get off call himself a scientist, but I'm glad that you're on staff for us. Michael. Sometimes I use this platform to bet on another topic and it's just going to be baseball real quick.

So if you have the theory of going on contact, tell a bat or not to try to pull an outside pitch to third base. So that's just my just my baseball comment. Okay, okay, with the game last night, Well, I'm sure there's a scientific reason why you don't do that. Well, I tried to look at out the probability of success when you're on third and you go on contact with the ball hit the third how many times you actually scored a run and I couldn't find it. And maybe there's

smarter minds that have that sabermetric and pull it up somehow. But I'd be interested to know how many times, as I know alone, i've seen three or four failures at home play trying to go on contact with the ball hit the third base. But that's just me. Perhaps it's just the heat of the moment. How you doing, Gary Jeff, I'm well, had a very very relaxing Fourth of July. Didn't really do anything, but it was it was great. I always observe and and love the holiday even if I

don't go to a parade or fireworks, and this year I didn't. How was yours? It was good. We'll probably about one of the favorite holidays of the years your life. For some I guess it's number one. It's number one for me because it's the the all American holiday. Well, the science question of the Dey, Gary Jeff, is why are scientists making rhinos in South Africa radioactive and the u And actually what they're doing is, uh, the horns on the rhinos are quite uh, quite a lubid commodity for

medicinal purposes in Asia. They're they're hot, hot item and even people just to have the horns and the values are as high as what diamonds cost or gold or cocaine. Uh, so that they're they're they get posts a lot, right, So we get like rhinos are dying every twenty hours from from

people taking off the horns, which is kind of sad. So what scientists are doing is they're actually taking a non tosic, toxic radio isotope and it won't mention, which one I find I find interesting, But they're drilling a hole into the end of the tusk, the horns, and they're they're injecting

this radioactive isotope in a couple of reasons. Airports and security places when you cross borders, they have radio radiation detectors, so they'll they'll they'll trip the the security And then the other reason is that the you can't you can no longer ingest these orange for medicinal purposes for because they have a certain level of variation in them now. So they're going to study these twenty rhinos for the next six months to a year and see what kind of, if they have

any ill health effects on the animal. But I hope it works out to these poaches from doing their their dirty book. Yeah, no doubt about it, and you said that people use the the horns for medicinal purposes, and that's one of the reasons the rhinos are being poached or their horns are being poached. But you also mentioned cocaine. And I've never snorted any rhino don't don't. I've met their value was as high as a cocaine value, so it's high. Yeah, well, I mean still, I mean I I

don't appreciate I don't. I don't appreciate rhinos when they get elected. And I certainly am not going to snort any rhino horns anytime soon, especially knowing that I may give a radioactive shot up the nostril. Ay. I have a great day, Mike, Thank you Science. One of the ways in which we attempt to do this is by bringing the word of God to their We do it again. I'm gonna let it shine light, I'm let it shine. I'm

gonna let it shine, it shine, let it shine shine. Yeah. Well, bring in brother Rick Green to help spread the word the good news on a Saturday morning. Good morning, brother Green, how are you hey? Good morning? Yahah walk up, praying for you and your listeners. I'm in the backyard and it's a beautiful sunny morning. You know what it's It's really easy. It's easier, let's say, to fully appreciate and be grateful for the gifts that God gives us when out in a morning like this.

You know, the trick is when it's coming down cats and dogs and it looks like the weather is going to swallow you whole. To be to be praised, to praise God and to be grateful then is really the trick. But it's it's easier on a morning like this, don't you agree? Yes? It is, Gary? You know what, I'll woke up Gary, when went through my spirit, I just cat sign it and signing myself. The only thing good about me is God. I'm no different than nobody

else caring anything good about me is all God. Uh. And I'm I'm having this realization like every day, the same thing. You know. If there wasn't if it wasn't for God in my life, I would have literally nothing there. Yeah, So have you got a verse for us? Yeah? We come of from two Timothy, Chapter one, verse seven. It says for the spirit God gave us to not make us tenment, but gives us power, love, and self discipline. Amen. None of those things can I achieve on my own. No, we'll just screw it up.

I do every time. Oh, so, how are things going otherwise, Ricky? Oh, We're going great. And I'm about to play in the kickball tournament. It's sixty years old. Let's see how that turnout. But we're raising money for a good cause. There's an orphan in Africa. Sadly, both his parents were mauled by hippos, and he's fourteen he needs some help. Wow, and you guys, and you guys raising money with a kickball tournament. Yes, we are in Mason today and praise God that people

willing to donate. All right, well, well, I hope that you raise a lot of money for the orphan and it sounds like a fun way to spend the time day. Oh yeah, we'll see Mandy when I got work. Gary, I'll let you know. Hopefully you're able. All right, brother Greed, thank you very much. Have a blessed WEEKND. Sounds

Liam FC Cincinnati hosts Inner Miami tonight. Inner Miami will be without Lionel Messi or Luis Suarez as they are in the Copa America. Miami has continued to get positive results without them, and the Orange and Blue have been in second place in the Supporters Shield,

trailing them. With a win tonight, the Orange and Blue will control their own destiny in the pursuit of a repeat Supporter Shield victory. The game tonight is at seven thirty and pregame coverage begins at seven. You can listen to that on ESPN fifteen thirty. It is a sold out game, So where else would you rather listen and pay attention to the game than on ESPN fifteenth if you can't be there in person. Yeah, we have the conduit.

The Great American Ballpark come back last night by the Reds was one run short. Yeah. The res entered the ninth down five to two thanks to giving up four home runs last night. Now Science Mike was talking about being on third basem and going on contact not necessarily a wise move for Blake Dunn. He was breaking from third on Stevenson's shot through the infield and did not make

it at home plate. Yeah, he was gunned at the plate and it was a questionable call, but you got to go with the call on the field in that situation, and the Reds ended up falling to the Tigers five to four. Things to that play. Hunter Green will start for the Cincinnati Reds this Saturday against Matthew Erling and Detroit Tigers. First pitch is at four to ten. Inside pitch begins at three to ten, and you can listen to that game right here on the Home of the Red seven hundred WLW.

All Right, the Olympics begin in twenty days. Do you have a break dancing champion? I couldn't believe that there was actually break dancing included as a sport in the Olympic Games. I'm excited. Swimming is definitely the best competition in my opinion, my favorite watch. It's the only time I've ever really locked into swimming. Yeah, they cut out the solo synchronized swimming, which

I didn't understand solo synchronized swimming in the first place. I thought it took a team for synchronized swimming, but no, aparently solo synchronized swimming has been a part of previous Olympic Games. Anything else besides god forbid break dancing that you're excited about that it's a new sport. I like, I like. I like the basic track and field competitions as well. But there's like is there surfing? Is that surfing? And sport climbing. I'll be tuned into

every one of those competitions and get right whatever. So I gotta ask you another question while you're handy. But first let's hear from Huey lewis a moment, Hueie, thank you. It was Huey's seventy fourth birthday yesterday. Tell me more so, Liam, tell me you have detailed before in small part your other job, which is if you're in radio and you're not Bill Cunningham, Uh, you have other jobs. I mean scotch Loan does handyman stuff

for his rich wife, the realtor. And who knows what Mike McConnell's doing as a side hustle. I bartend you work with youth. Tell what does exactly you do? I'll work it for an after school program. Okay, the Boys and Girls Club well, I mean it's summertime, they don't have school. Is there an after school pro program when there's no school? Yeah? Well during the summer we kind of it's like a full day uh huh place for the kids to go. And you've told me before about the five

year olds attacking you, knocking you down and taking your phone. Yeah, they still do. That doesn't change. That's every day. Okay, So how do you get your phone back? Was my first question. I started to just leave it out there, but most of the time I just have it on these so I can able to communicate with people. But I'm just running around the gym getting my steps in. For sure, I'm chasing a bunch of little kids. Oh, very nicely. So you described an activity

this past week where you were folding paper airplanes. Yeah, we were making paper airplane competition to see which paper airplane could go the farthest. And you know, okay, we let the kids get their creative work. Sure. Oh no, no, I mean this is something every kid should do. And there are probably kids in underserved communities who never have seen a paper airplane. So I think you're doing the Lord's work there. But tell me what

happened in the advent of you making paper airplanes. The kids think I'm like some forty year old man that's like out of touch with the culture and has no idea what like good? I know how? You know how? You know how it feels? Then every time I'm around you or somebody your age, yeah, they say I'm old. It's crazy exactly, And I'm only twenty two. Are your ancient? Yeah? And so they act like I

don't know what's I'm a hip. I'm not. I'm a hip with the culture and they're making they made some stuff on the airplane that's probably not the most appropriate as joking wise, like what for example, Uh, it's a Diddy party? What's what's a Diddy party? I'm not too in Uh seriously, what's what's a digital? I'm not too hip into what's a Diddy party? Either? I have never invited to a Diddy party myself or ever attended one, but I guess have you you know the stuff going on with Diddy

right now? I try not to pay attention because it's really not truly important to me, but I know that he's in some hot water for things that may have occurred. The FBI came and raided his home and all the allegations have been fired at him, and I've seen the video of him, uh apparently beating the snot out of somebody he apparently or allegedly loved his girlfriend in a hotel room. From that point, I don't know why the man wasn't in jail when this occurred. But yeah, otherwise, I really he's into

a lot of different things, let's put it that way. Yeah, there's so many. There's like a video with him and Justin Bieber and he's like, why haven't you texted me? Justin Bieber's like fifteen at the time, and Justin Bieber like looked super uncomfortable. I didn't. I didn't know about the Justin Bieber factor, the underage Justin Bieber factor. Yeah, and they're like once he's like going back and they play a bunch of interviews and you

can tell with him, maybe maybe he's just like Michael Jackson. He just thinks that he's still a little kid. Did he so? So they wanted to have a diddy party? Yeah, I guess so. I was not letting that slide. No ditty parties in my room or anything like that. But good to put your foot down, old man. That's great all right, Liam. Thanks, it's eight twenty seven and some change. We still

Today Ford Soup, I take you to the KG show show it's fifty since birthday today in case you'd forgotten to get the card and back from back from his vacation last week, which we're gonna ask him about. Is the one and only Moegar. Hey, Mo,

what's it's fitty since birthday today? Next next year fifty cent will be actually be fitty? Does he change? Does he change his name? When he gets to Fitty. You know, these are the questions we'll think about the next year. And will he have a Didty party? Will Fitty do a diddy? That's the question. I hope, I hope not too all right? So, uh, anyway, I wanted to talk to you about You know, I have lived in this area now for thirty years. I've

never been to Lake Cumberland. Oh really, you got it. You gotta tell me. You got to tell me at least one thing that I absolutely have to do when I go, when I finally get to Lake Cumberland. What is the one thing that mo Egger suggests, Since you were there the last weekend, find the cliff and jump off of it. I was afraid you were going to say that. I really was. Yeah. How about my daughter did it last week? It was cool. She jumped off a

cliffs. How high? Uh say, probably about twenty feet. Well that's that's pretty good distance. It was pretty good. Yeah, she did did it multiple times. Yeah, it's pretty cool. Well it's great. So you get to see Crosley doing the right of passage. I guess for the Egger clan, I'm not really fond of heights in general and jumping off where I don't know what is exactly below me is also kind of a deal breaker for me. But I will take your advice. If I ever make it

down now, I'll find maybe are there starter cliffs? Oh yeah, oh yeah, sure, yeah, no doubt, no doubt. Well if your if your daughter can do it, I probably can muster up the courage. I was thinking of being friends there who having friends there who are also help. Yeah. Well there was an element of peer pressure involved, I think, I think too. My My key to happiness on Lake Cumberlin would be somebody with a really nice house boat where there are cold drinks inside. Uh

that's me. But anyway, absolutely, what was your fourth good? What'd you do for the Fourth of July? Uh? Just hung out with the family, watched watch the Reds Beaty Yankees. Oh that was some fireworks off and uh it was low key, but it was nice. It was a lot of fun. Now do you find you try and find the fireworks for your home displays that are just on the verge of legal So, I mean

there's something very kind of good but not quite rosy quality. I mean, that's the thing is if you're going to do that, and you know what you're doing, I mean, get some good fireworks. I mean, so sparklers in Roman candles don't quite do it, but anyway, go ahead. Yeah, it's interesting because I I had never really been, you know, a huge fireworks fireworks guy in terms of lighting them off myself yes night. We've always gone to someone else's house or a public display. And I went

out there. I just I heard the spot during your while I was on hold for a party of traps after on Lawrenceburg. And I went out there and I talked to Tras and I said, basically that question I go. I want you to walk me up to the line where you know, essentially if I cross it, I'm doing something I shouldn't. And he said, get a shopping cart. We'll be fine. So as somebody who knew nothing about fireworks, it was very, very beneficial, And yeah it was.

It was fun. I'm not sure, you know, we're not those people who like shoot them off at one thirty in the morning and annoy all our neighbors, but our backyard was covered in shrapnel. It was fun. That's great. It's easy to get really excited over one series or one event. I mean, it's been a couple of times that people have gotten Reds fans have gotten really excited about the Reds, and a couple of those times were sweeps of the LA Dodgers and the New York Yankees, which, of course

that just occurred in the Bronx this past week. More than likely, the way this season has gone, the Reds will lose the next seven games and all of our enthusiasm will be completely dampened by the sweep of the Yankees. But your thoughts on going to New York and taking down the Bronx bombers at their own game, hitting the ball out of the ballpark, right, yeah? I mean that to me is what stood out more than anything else. This is a team that I think is built for a bigger ballpark and the

Reds obviously don't play in one. And there has been you know, offensively, We've talked about it all season long. They've been kind of below average in every offensive metric, including the long ball. And you know, it was I think, if I'm not mistaken, seven homers from seven different players, that is great. I think in the in the context of the season,

a little bit of an outlier. Was What was important to me was they got good starting pitching, and they got really good relief pitching in critical moments, and you know, that to me is the sustainable part. And if his team vaults into contention and stays, the primary reason why is going to be the because they're starting pitching and their bullpen work is really really good.

I thought the most important outing in that series was Graham Ashgrafts, who you know obviously got demoted, came back when nic Widola went on the injured list, and on Tuesday in the Bronx, with maybe one or two exceptions, I thought was really really sharp. The final line, when I don't think was completely indicative of how good he was. That's important, It's important

for this team, it's really important for him. And again, you know, there were going to talk a lot over the next few weeks about what they may or may not do with the deadline. They need offensive help. But if this team is somehow standing at the end of the season, the main reason why, it's going to be the main reason why they won those games in New York, which was their pitching. Are you going to bet on the breakdancing competition at the Olympics, Well, it was about three seconds

ago. I found out there was break dancing at the Olympics, So probably not, but you never know. I mean breakout, break out, the DraftKings, the fan duel, you know, come on, let's go breakdancing for the first time at the Olympics. Eh oh, I guess it made sense. We've had ballroom dancing at the Olympics, right, We've had ice dancing, which ice skating aficionados will tell you is not figure skating but ice dancing. So it just seems to me like the next step in the evolution

of dancing at the Olympics would be breakdancing. Do we have a shot to medal in breakdancing? I don't know. This is the thing breakdancing is like so nineteen ninety it's not exactly like it's all the craze in America. All the kids aren't doing breakdancing anymore. That ship sailed about thirty years ago.

There was a guy who used to come into the bar and after he had a few beers, would turn Dan Hartman on the jukebox, and I have to stop him because I was afraid he was going to hurt himself and we'd be liable for the end injury. He was break dancing with Dan Hartman. It was break dancing to anything he could break dance to. Oh wow, Herbie Hancock, rocket whatever. You know, we had ballroom dancing at the Olympics. And when's the last time anybody went ballroom dance? So, uh,

yeah, I didn't know. I didn't know break dancing was an Olympic event. Yeah, yeah, they did. They did eliminate. They did eliminate solo synchronized swimming, which I thought was just hilarious that there's such a thing as solo synchronized swimming. I thought that required a team. Oh you know what, the most the most remarkable thing about the Olympics to me is, you know there's an event for team handball, right, Yeah, have you ever watched team handball? I have an Olympics. Yeah, it looks

like something you'd play in gym class. The United States of America has qualified either on the men's side or the women's side for the Olympics and team handball since nineteen ninety six, and that year we only qualified because we hosted. When the Olympics begin, watch this sport and ask we couldn't get like the best ten athletes on either side, male or female, and put together an Olympic team handball squad and dominate the rest of the world. Who was good

in handball? Is it the Chinese? The Koreans, I mean Cubans who who excels in not us? No that who excels in it? I frankly couldn't tell you. But I looked this up this week because I remember during the Olympics three years ago watching it, going well, I could play that. I mean, it's it's not as big a playing surface as soccer, and the apparat that you're trying to put the ball into isn't as small as a basketball like it does. It looks like something you'd play in gym class.

And so I'm going like, huh, we we couldn't get we can't find enough people in this country to play team handball to at least compete in the Olympics, not even metal, just make the Olympics. The answer so far has been though, well, I mean, I'm just waiting for dodgeball

so I could play be out like a fat kid in dodgeball. I'll tell you, mo, I think that the best athlete in the Olympics, not just for America but overall, has to be Simone Arianne Biles owens, this woman is twenty seven years old in a sport where when you're twenty seven they're like, say, well, you know, maybe you should play in the senior division. Simone Biles to me, is just as an athlete, not

just as a gymnast, but as an athlete. I think she is absolutely the most amazing athlete that America will bring to the table in Paris this year. Your thoughts, Yeah, there's there's a lot of validity to that. And you're right, you know, gymnastics, that's that's a sport. You know, by the time you're twenty seven years old, typically you've you've moved

on to something else. That is that is a sport where you know, you kind of saw it on the nineties the competitors were getting younger and younger. They were they were mainly teenagers. And here you have a full fledged adult who is not just competing but dominate. And and you're right, as somebody who admittedly doesn't watch a ton of gymnastics. During the qualifying trials when she was on in primetime, I watched and it was awesome. Oh,

it's like the it's like the Caitlin Clark effect. It's like Elie de la Cruz getting on base or you know, it's one of those things you have to watch. But I you know, she debuted at the Olympics eight years ago in twenty sixteen, when she was an old nineteen years old. Yeah, she just had her twenty seventh birthday. And just when I was watching the trials and I, you know, I did glimpse in too for a minute. I said, Oh, it's Simone Biles. I gotta watch.

Just blew me away. Uh just And you're right, I'm not that big into gymnastics, but you find out that if you're married and you're watching the Olympics and you're a guy, chances are you'll get sucked into watching some gymn gymnastics, especially if your wife used to be a gymnast. So that's that's the way it works. It's like figure skating, right, Yeah, figure skating is sort of the same rule. Yeah. Well I kind of felt like Nancy Kerrigan watching figure skating once. I just sat on the floor and

go, why me, why me? We got we got real, we got real America football here in very very soon. Training camp is coming up later this month for the Bengals, and we're looking forward to that, and I know you are too. Mo. Have a fantastic rest of the weekend. And it's Independence weekend, so continue to be patriotic, sir. I definitely will thank you. All right, thank you, Mike Allen Saturday midday. How are you, my friend? I'm good? How about you? Well? Uh? How? How? And when are they going to get

rid of Humpty dumpster fire? You know what President of the United States is going to be sooner rather than later, I mean, and the other thing's pretty much been cast. If he says he's not going to run, does he also step down from the White House. That's the question. That's the question. And I would think so, I mean to give unfortunately Kamala a leg up. I think he probably would, but who knows. But I'll tell you one thing, Gary Jeffman, I wouldn't have said this last week.

I think it's inevitable he's gonna go. The wolves are at the door. I've said it since twenty twenty two. See, this is the other thing. All these media types who have been basically an arm of the Democrat Party. Yeah, and Patsy's for Joe Biden in this current regime because you know, Joe's never been in charge of anything in that White House. Nope, except signing executive orders, which by the way, he's almost got to

his book colored. So but I mean, I've said I thought it would be right after the second year of the term, because then Kamala Harris could have run for multiple terms, right if she'd taken over then, But it's it's gonna be Commy Harris. And I thought it was a poor choice of words when you set a leg up for Commy Harris, because that's how she got there, was with her rags. Ye, yeah, I hear you. But anyway, we just don't know in it's it's it's inevitable that it's

going to happen. I think it is, But I can't believe all these people just realize all that. See that's a bull crap thing about the mainstream media, which of course I think you just said in an arm of the Democrat Party. You think they didn't know they were trying to cover every news, every newscast for leftist media is like an in kind donation to the Democrat Party and ought to be judged as such. That's why we got to fight

with one back. But anyway, they knew, they knew, but it got to the point after that debate that they just couldn't cover for him anymore. So boom here, we are not people you want to have your back. That's that's for damn show. I think that says as much about them as it does Joe Biden. It does who's on the show today? Well, I'm gonna talk obviously about that, and then at ten o'clock we're going to have him in studio for an hour former Judge Kurt Hartman, Amont County

Common Police Court. We're going to talk about all the recent Supreme Court decisions were a flurry of them before all this stuff came down. I'm also going to ask him to walk us through the twenty fifth Amendment, what's got to be done in order to kick that in. To me, the best Supreme Court decision wasn't the Trump or presidential immunity thing. It wasn't even clearing jan six Ers of some of the obstruction charges that they were charged with along with

Donald Trump. It was the reversal of the what do they call it, the Chevron differential? Yep, We're taking the power out of these bureaucratic agencies hands and giving it back to the states and back to the people where it belongs. You're very perceptive and because you're absolutely right about that, that was the biggest decision to be huge. Anytime you can newter the obese federal government and decentralize it and put the power back in the hands of the people,

it's a good day. And that was a very good day. No, thank goodness for the Supreme Court. These days there about the only thing eep and as afloat. Yeah, no doubt about it. After the show show at Huddles, we'll be slinging drinks for Hillbillies and others if you want to come on by, and it's it's going to be a beautiful day to take a ride, So why not have a good weekend? Happy Independence Weekend to you God bless America. Now is the time to buy your new vehicle. A carries
