If you ever get a chance, by the way, the Roseheart in Mount Gilead,
Ohio, go there. I don't get any props for telling you this. I'm just as a friend passing it along. Well, Krista got up Monday morning with a head cold. It progressed and Tuesday it wasn't any better, So we canceled the trip until, you know, till a couple of weeks. Well, we'll make it, just not on our anniversary. Jeffy
said the same thing. Actually, and a friend of mine gave us gift cards to go to Montgomery End. We were gonna go since we didn't get to go to the Roseheart End. We were gonna go Wednesday night on our anniversary. And she was still sick, so we have to put that off too. Well, you've weathered the storm, and you're still weathered. Well, it's it was supposed to be a big week for us, and there was just a whole lot of blowing going on. Can we try to cheer

Would you like to hear it? Oh? You know I would. A man sees his buddy carrying a box. He says, what's that? He said, Oh, I got a case of
beer for my wife, and the guy says, good trade. Take my wife please. That's right, Henny Youngman is new again, baby, indeed, so give me give me a reception report, Old Radio Rick, How are you hearing us this morning? What are you listening on? And how's it coming in? Okay? Well you're coming in five by four, which is loud and not as clear as i'd like it. But that's not a problem with the radio. That is a problem with a new dhumidifier I have, but I got to figure out how to shield. So if I shot
the d humid or fire off, it becomes five by five. This is a nineteen fifty one Westinghouse. It's a seven tube AMFM plastic case table model, okay, and a couple of things that I thought was cool about it is the front of it. There's just two knobs, I guess, two concentric knobs if you will, but a giant arc dial on the front and an exposed pointer, meaning you know, if the kid comes along and goes
clean, you can break it right off. But it's the dial is embedded in the speaker cloth and the dial is clear and the pointer is clear. And inside the radio the dial lamp is this giant bulb. It's actually a mostly used for the inside of a dryer for dryers to have answer the fifties. Um, okay, this thing's gonna look so cool at night. Oh no, it turned out all the lights get turned on the radio and just a little Westinghouse emblem lights up. It gets see what stays you're on at
all. That's all you get for the big baalb. Yelp, did you get the Westinghouse logo. That's it, but you can't see where you're tuning on the dial. What's more important? Gary, Jeff? Advertising or information? There you go kind of send the message. Do you keep to the narrative? Keep to the narrative? Jeez? So uh, now where were we going to say? I have no idea? Go ahead? Oh no, no? Is this this belonged to someone else or belongs to you or
what? What's the deal? Nope, this is a this is a customer's radio. Actually got a few done for him and there they're a early birthday gift for his daughter who apparently fell in love with these things. He was just stacking in the corner of the house and it was a It was a little bit embarrassing. I had to call him yesterday because he used to use these little hanging tags on every radio to identify by who they are, etc. And I had two sitting next to each other and they fell off.
And when when Toledo Steve had been by several months agoing is, oh my gosh, my radio looks so good. It's like, that's not yours, this's the neighbors. And then I was going through the info and I found the hanging tags on the floor and I had to call the neighbor and say, uh, buddy, can you show me that receipt? I gave you a strich the right radio. We Murray came up with a new system for marking the radios that will not fall off and will not harm the radios.
It won't happen again. Well that's good, that's good, little leg on the face. Do you do you know how many collectors there are of antique radios around the country. It seems like there's probably more than I even realize. When you said this guy's daughter fell in love with these stack of things that were, you know, put in a corner of the room and they were, you know, these great old radios. Is there a big,
big amount of collectors for these there? Honestly are. The problem is that I'm one of the younger ones, and that's a problem because we're desperately trying to recruit younger people to get interested. But there's the twice annual and I went to September's Antique Radio Meet in Cutstown, Pennsylvania, which is arguably the
largest one in the country. There's hundreds of vendors and thousands of people that come to see and even more than that, people posting online about man, I wish they could be there, it's too far away, etc. Lots of interest and a lot of collectors are getting sensibly unlike me, more and more specified. Well we have that. We have one of those younger aficionados of classic radios, our own Alex Egan says that he is indeed, yeah, tell me about what do you have, Alex? Do you have anything?
Offhand? Just spitting? I have a Crossley Entertainment system. So that's got the small TV, uh, the radio and then the record player itself, um and then uh oh boy, putting me on a spot I got. I'd have to create a list, but all right, so you do have you'd have a pretty pretty good collection. Have about fifteen or twenty Oh my god. Ye see, there you go. There's there's the next generation. Family's been holding out on me old Radio Rickett gmail dot com to get

It's also the only trophy in major sports
that it's not reproduced each year. Yeah. I mean, the team wins the Stanley Cup and they get possession of the cup until a new winner is crowned the next after the next season, and they take that damn thing everywhere. They take it into bars, they take it into restaurants, they you know, and people are drinking out of the Stanley Cup up, which is probably not very sanitary, depending on how many how many people's DNA has been on that cup, But you're right, and they engrave it fresh with the

What's to stop the FBI from using AI and a three D printer to create the evidence in quotes to arrest Ron de Santis if he's the GOP candidate. Yeah, think about that, folks. Question number two, to which there is an answer, um, why are military enlistments dramatically lower the answer. The potential candidates know that, unlike their ancestors, the current GIS realize they would not be quote unquote serving their country. They would be serving some corrupt
cabal in Washington. D See correct the problem military, and the enlistments will go up. Winner of the Dwight Eisenhower Calling out your own Brothers in Arms Award. Good name for a General MacGregor, A constant fourn in the side of the powder puffs in the Pentagon, noting on a talk show this week that giving the brass any money in the debt ceiling fiasco would have been too much because it's a blow of bureaucracy, loaded with forty four four star officers serving just one point three million gis. He notes, in World War Two nineteen forty five, we had fewer than ten four stars serving twelve million men and women.
That ladies and gentlemen, is called inflation. Speaking of the debt ceiling is falling fiasco, Chicken little Please notice it was not signed until after the fable June first default day, our new d day, and the money still keeps pouring in. Notice that McCarthy, Biden, and Schumer all stress the quote unquote savings. Let me explain the savings for you folk. This is like a driver going the wrong way on a one way ramp and killing eight
people, then claiming he saved the other two passengers who didn't die. We're not kicking the can down the road. We're whistling past the graveyard. By the way, Note, did Ron de sandis Ron get a boys teacher? Your sing song delivery is irritating, and please start telling us what your foreign policies are. That's the thing that you and Trump really haven't stressed so far. I know, I know it's getching table policies, like you know, how much money am I making? How much money am I working out?
But really I want to hear about Ukraine. McGregor talks about it. Why not you? Okay, that's that. Speaking of the military, I dug this up, Gary Jeff, because my sister in law, my late sister in law, was one of the Peace Corps volunteers of the early sixties. It's interesting to note that in nineteen sixty five, both she and my wife or sister graduated from school. At the same time. My wife went to Vietnam, and Judy, my sister in law, went to the Dominican Republic.
I used to kid the hell out of her. I said, Jude, you did a hell of a job down there. I said, those damn Major League Baseball players are unbelievable. I didn't know you could play that well. She didn't appreciate that. She wasn't a sports fan. But here's what I found out. I was listening to an interview with her just before she died. It's in the JFK Library, So I guess she's fairly famous. These are illustrious. Peace Corps has just established an English speaking program in
Hanoi. I just thought that was quite quite interesting. I'm also watching The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, one of my favorite movies. Oh Eastwood, you are so fabulous, folks. Do you remember that movie the Civil War bridge scene? Remember when he and Eli Wallack blew the bridge up. Yeah, there's a line in there he's looking at just before they
blew the bridge up. Everybody's killing everybody else on both sides. Eastwood looks out at the Carnegin says, I've never seen so many men wasted so badly. God, did that remind me of Vietnam? Huh. We used to use that as a burd in Vietnam War, wasting somebody. And I was thinking last week of the guys, you know, Memorial Day, that I knew very very talented young men who got wasted. I just, you know, I thought i'd mentioned that in passing. I was kind of stuck out
at me. Listen. I hope he gets that copyright and everything works out. Okay, take care of yourself, well, you know, Steve. And what I also wonder about is how many men were wasted in the folly of Afghanistan and exactly you know, And it seems that history not only repeats itself and not only rhymes, but we should not ever forget what has gone before and not fight wars like we fought wars fifty and sixty years ago.
It simply doesn't work, thank you very much. He mentioned the good, the band, and the ugly, and we take you out to the break with Hugo Montenegro on the theme Pump that up, Alex. Finally, the Supreme Court has issued a stunning rebuke to the US EPA over what's called Rhodus Waters of the United States rule, And basically it said that EPA cannot expand its power beyond what Congress meant by quote navigable waters of the United States, meaning that any good puddle or pawned ep wants to get his hands on it can't. So now interesting, the Biden regime has called this again a mayor court. But the decision was nine zero. It was unanimous.
The unanimous. So I guess Jackson, Kagan and Sodemoyer are mega now who knows, no, they were just they're just they're following the Constitution. And it's about time. Well not only that they're falling with Congress at uh and years ago, I mean many decades ago, because this has been this has been battle has been going on almost since the Clean Water Act was passed
back I think what nineteen seventy seventy one. Yeah, but number of decades ago EPA bureaucrat was famously quoted as saying, if a leaf can float, it's a navigable water. So you know, it's just a it's a victory for good environmental sense. Uh. The US EPA should its jobs should be concentrating on significant bodies of water that really matter and let the rest of the stuff to the states. You know, you'd hear out there the headlines. You know, Oh my god, you know the Supreme Court just just screw
the environment. No, you know, puddles of water in uh you know, the the reads along expressways, those are those are state issues, dot USPA issues. So kudos to the to the Supreme Court to say, you know, uh, Congress, you gotta do what Converse said, you gotta do, not what you want to do. Yeah. Uh, it's what
science tests called the Greek Dark Ages. And then from two hundred BC about four fifty AD, it's called the Roman Warm Period. Again, the earth warmed up, not quite as much as the Manoan and this is what also during the same time, Gary Jeff, we the human culture entered the Iron Age and then temperatures plunged again and then they came back up, but not quite as warm as before. And we're in the Medieval Warm Age. This
is from eight hundred eleven. And we talked about this. Uh, the Vikings discovered Greenland and which is no longer green and Newfoundland, which is uh no longer warm. Yeah. So and now we've dropped again, and now the temperature is going up, and yes we've gone up several degrees. We are still not as warm as back as the Medieval Warm period. No,
we're not quite there yet. Yes, time to get physical with the dawn of the first family. The Costellano Family of Fitness himself, Rocko Hostelano trained with Rocco dot com. Rocco, Good morning, how are you doing? Good morning, Gary, Jeffer So, I'm fantastic. We talked on one of the rare nightcaps this past Monday on Memorial Day night about alcohol because apparently it's one of those big big things about a holiday weekend. Yeah, pound them down, and about
how evil alcohol really is for your system. So you mentioned fermented foods and the microbiome as a possible topic, and I want to get them first. Let me ask you this question with what I alcohol actually does to the human body. What if you drank a lot, would you be considered fermented food to a cannibal? You would, Yes, you would, Yes, you would. And there are many people out there that are pretty pickled as a as the result of many of a libation. Yes, yes, so would
be contented fremented. Let's now, but fermented foods are actually good for human beings? Correct? Yes, a fermented foods um And we don't uh, we don't really talk about fermented foods uh in a nutrition as much as we should because um, I ferment my own food here at the Castellano Um household, and it's very easy to do. And most people don't even know about a fermented food, but a fermented foods like kim chi or or tofu or even even a sour dill pickle are really great for the gut and the microbi
and the microbiota actually, uh because of because of the process. Right, there's something called lacto a basila a basillas, and and that lactose a basillas actually um helps to coat the lining of your gut, to help to digest food and to help to distribute the nutrients, okay, and so um. I I every day I like to get in some type of a fermented food, like sour crowd, like the kim chila. Like I said, some
people like the hot kim she. I like the white uh kim she myself because it doesn't beat up you, Like, do you like the white kimchi because you're a racist? Roco? Well that's yeah, that's also that's also the reason why no, it's not now because it's well. And also let me just tell you the reason why I like the white can okay, is because it's because it takes a lot less time to actually process to ferment.
I'm a little impatient in my fermented floor, a real quick in the last couple of minutes, give give us an all an idea on how to quickly ferment your food if you want to have that benefit for your microbiome and the and the LAXI. It's very easy, all right, what do you do? Yeah, it's really easy. Um. You take you take a selene a solution, or you put a basically a teaspoon and a half or or a little more of sea salt into distilled water and uh, and then you
can add a garlic or bay leaves. And then I put in asparagus, I put in uh like a Kirby cucumbers, I put in uh um, i'll you know, olives, I put in any of those uh like those things. And I love the salad doe pickles. So I have jars of it down in my basement. So how long how long does it take? How long does it take to ferment? So? Yeah, so like the kim chiel, like I said, oh, with the cabbage with the character, it takes it takes about five days. And with salath doll pickles and
asparagus and the other stuff, it takes about three to four weeks. So that's the reason why I like the kimchi because I get to eat it in five days instead of three to four weeks. But you definitely have to have patients when it comes to fermenting food, no doubt about it. There's no question, all right, Rocco, thank you very much. You can find out more trained with Rocco dot com or visit Rocco at his fitness training center

Tell me about Michelle Phillips, Yeah, she's not usually featured. Did a Mama cass was the featured vocalist, but they put her up But and that became a number two record, the biggest version of that song dedicated to the One I Love. She
told me I had great conversations with her. She talked about the Monterey Pop Festival that they put together way so what do you remember? What do you remember about that? She said, how bad we wore the same thing? Really good head stand out and she said, yeah, otis Redding And her story is very interesting. She's a model, young girl in Long Beach, California, goes to San Francisco the party. He meets this guy and the journeyman, John Phillips. He's married and he leaves his wife. They get
together, they get married. They go to New York to relocate and he's writing songs there. But they're thinking about the warm weather and she helps out with California Dreaming and Craik Alley and a bunch of stuff, and then they go they make some records and she has everything's going pretty good Smith, and
all of a sudden she has this affinger Well. The sound of Girls in the Clouds and the only the only remaining living member of the mom was in the papas Michelle Phillips still with us. Up next in the list a guy who well would have had a birthday, but he was involved in a band that did instrumentals in the sixties, but in the seventies things had changed. Tell me about
this next record, Jim Yeah. Dan Hamilton. Dan Hamilton celebrated would have celebrated to birthday on Thursday. Now. His brother at one time as a road manager for the Venture. So he's like sixteen years old and he's writing songs for the Ventures. And then they go to California and his brother and they joined a band called the Advantes, and the Advantes in the advantes Is pet and Lollie Vegas who would later become not too far after this, they
become Red Bone and Big Vegas stars and on Shindig regulars. On Shindig, Well, they make Theyn't really didn't make the record. They're they're on a record, they're promoting the record. They are the public the public version of the t Bones. The Wrecking Crew actually did the song. It became a number three million cellar in nineteen sixty five, no matter what shape their stomachston So they're the public te Bones. They're otherwise you saw on a record label.
They're up doing the hops and everything, doing the appearances. That thing kind of goes away and then they become U. They're in a studio, they're auditioning. Use now they're all together. They Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds. Danny Hamilton's with Tommy Reynolds and Joe Frank, Carrollo. And they're in a studio are this thing for Dunghill Records with Steve Barry, who the uh president of the label. Okay, and he's he's with them and they're
aud just mean, they're doing some previous Clearwater Revival songs. And meanwhile they've got a song. He bought the song Don't Pull Your Love, written by Bryan Porter and Potter, and then he's then he said, Lambert, but they were writing that song for Elvis, but he bought the song for the grass roots, and the grass roots turned to them because he thought it was too wifty two lightweights. So he has them in the studio. They're just on this thing he can buy second, hold up, guys, and he
plays this song for him like three times. Let they say yeah, we can do this. They record this song and it becomes a million feller, a number four hit in nineteen seventy one, and this song is Don't Pull Your Love Hamilton. I absolutely love this record. I remember the fas a kid. I remember hearing this record and I just fell in love with it
immediately. From nineteen seventy one, the late Don Hamilton, Joe, Frank Carlo and Tommy Reynolds and don't Pull Your Love out Home the Baby seven wells, every Ryan Roll, Archaeology, Garry Jeff and the music professor, and we continue, don't bull on the baby. If you do that, maybe I just leave me down four hundred years. Don't ain't mind my soul, my money, but don't leave me and drown in my cheers. You see you're gonna leave, gonna take that big one tn gon on my ride out

If you do that, I ain't the babe. I just leave it down. My four hundred years don't buy you lot on soul. But I've been good to you. What about that brand new? Doesn't that mean love to you? Doesn't that mean anything ever? In my f and I got down on my knees. What you make
me pretty? Don't do that. I'll just leave it down. I actually I'm good to hear Elvis singing this. He he didn't cut it as a hit, but they did. Hamilton, Joe, Frank and Reynolds up next, Jim on our List, great text mex performer. I just this guy is unbelievable too. Tell me about Freddy Fender. Yeah, they called him you el bebop kid. In the fifties, he had the text Mexican regional hit with Elvison's song Dorothy cruel speaking of Elvis. And then then he changed
his name. We played the heck out of this. This was a number one record this week in nineteen seventy five, played a little lot on WLW and he changed his name. His real name is Waldimir horol Warta, and he changed his name legally to Freddie Fender. And he took the name Fender from the guitar, the amplifier and Freddie because of the alliteration. It sounded good. It would sell better with the greens. And then he got this
song, and this is one of those songs that came about. The record company, the producers, the record label gave him a chance to record the song. He had the track already done and he needed to tell me to overdub the vocals for the track, and Freddie say, I'll do this, and he did the song by lingual style, singing the first half of the song in England. Then he repeated it in Spanish and the recording, he said, only took a few minutes, and I was glad to get it
over with. I thought it would be the last of the song. And then all of a sudden it became this million sellar. And this is one of those wake up songs where the girl has moved on but the guy's having a hard time accepting. Hey, it's over guy. He promised to return to her immediately before the next tear drop falls. If her new guy lets her down, Oh let's do it, Freddy Fender. If he brings you happy name, then I wish you those then if you're happy name, thatn't
matter most of ady. If he never breaks your heart, if the tear drop ever sid I'll be there before the next dear drop fall. She the get it eat that, the barely see that. Let us say you lorms boiler, my lors, do better see that? Say your hand? I mean, man, where this out like yes, by on the wonder beasts. I'll be there any time you need me by your side to drive away heavy tear, drive that you cry. And if he ever leads you to just remember, I love you and love you damn be by the name Dear
Drop. In seven forty nine and seven W L W. A. Jim Labarber, the music professor and rock and roll archaeology and up next on our list, A lady that man. We miss her, miss her voice so much. She rocked. Tell me about some hot stuff. Yeah, the Queen of Disco, Donna Summers this weekends the number one record in nineteen seventy nine will Let Stuff and it came from seven studio album Bad Girls, And
it was a different direction for her. She went to a rock direction with this song, mainly because of the guitar solo by the ex Dubie brother Steely Dan guitar player Jeff Skunk Baxter and won a Grammy Award for its actually won the Grammy Awards for the Best Female Rock Vocal Performance. And I guess it's a stretch to say this is a rock star, a rock vocal but but her voice could she was a superstar. She would stand out Minni Zara and she had four number one hits. This is the second of those, the

The Bowing startar Liner U scheduled to launch this July twenty first to take two astronauts into orbit around the Earth and go into the space station. But
they're delayed, and definitely for a couple of minor reasons. The number one reason those the parachutes. They have a link between the parachute between the attachment to the capsule and the anchor tathers. It seems that if one, if one parachute fails, that the other two we're going to the load won't be able to carry the Starliner. So those are going to snap all so,
so they're going to have to redesign those. You think that they would have figured that one out before now, because those those old white guys with black ties back in the sixties eight they seem to have gotten it down without any computers. But I digress. They did that. They did that without having pride months too amazingly. Anyway, go ahead the second one, and this is also my mind boggling, the protective tape wraps that covers all the wiring

In fact, he doesn't seem to be cognizant of any kind of sound around. Jay seeks slam a door and the dog just does nothing. Takes the vet, fearing, of course, that the dog is profoundly deaf. The doctor is examining the dog's ears, and so now I don't think there's a problem with the dog being deaf,

He said, no, I mean, you don't want to have to come to the vet every couple of months to get these cut out. I'm Martin Hooke, the inventor of Navis. Then the sports guy Mo Egger, Hey, Mo Garry, Jeff, how are you doing. I'm well, I'm feeling a little bit nostalgic with the Denver Nuggets in the NBA playoffs, and and here's Walker. I was an aficionado as a kid
of the old ABA, and and I loved the ABA. I don't know why. I just I love the red, white and blue basketball. It was the league that you helped bring about the advent of the three point shot. It was very inventive in many ways to compete with the older National Basketball Associate ategy. Eventually they merged and there were four teams that made it, and one of them was the Denver Nuggets. And with the Denver Nuggets in
the NBA Finals, now I came. I'm just rolling back to like the mid and late nineteen seventies when they were in the ABA and they had these incredible scorers on this team. I remember one game Alex English. I don't know if you know who that is, or I'm sure you do, but being a sports guy, dan Issell and Kelly Trapuca out of Notre Dame. So these three were on the Denver Nuggets at the time, and I remember
a game where they all scored forty points or more in one game. I mean the Nuggets won like one hundred and forty three to something, but they were responsible for almost these three guys, and it was just dan Issell. What a great, hard nosed player. Never really translated into the NBA. Plus, you know, he was kind of past his prime by the time that they merged. But dan Issell was the kind of just knockdown, drag out player. One time he face planted, knocked down after going for a
rebound and came up with his two front teeth missing. They were embedded in the floor, and he played the rest of the game. He was like a hockey player. But it's it's neat to see the Denver Nuggets with a chance to win their first NBA championship, don't you think I do? And by the way, that team is going to be really good for a while. Nacholea Yokich is probably the best offensive player in the sport at this moment. All of their players are either in or entering their prime. You mentioned
dan Issel. So a few two years ago, I got a phone call from Mike Pratt. Mike Pratt was the color analyst on UK basketball broadcast and passed away about this time a year ago, and I knew Mike through Chuck Mayshock. Mike is a great guy. He called me one day and this is maybe five years ago. He wanted me to appear on his radio show to talk about there was something happening with the Reds or Bengals. He had a radio show. I guess it much, and I said, sure,
be happy to do it. Tell me what time I go on the show. And the producer calls me the day of the show and he goes, okay, you'll be on with Mike and Dan, you know, in ninety seconds. And I go okay. So I waiting and I hear the show, you know, begin, and Mike comes on and asked me a question, and then his partner Dan asked me a question, and then Mike asked me a question. And then it occurred to me, Dan is dan Issell. So in the middle of the interview, I'd go, wait a minute,
pardon my naivete, but am talking to Dan Isssell. And he says, yes, Mike Pratt and Dannis will host it a radio show. I don't know what Dan is doing now. He obviously went on to go coach the Denver Nuggets for a number of years. He coached Nick Nick Van excellent
Denver. But that was pretty cool. But yeah, you know, it's uh, I think it's neat in a in a sport where you know, dynasty's often rule, whether they're you know, the Jordan's Bulls or the Shock and Kobe Lakers, or the San Antonio Spurs and obviously, most recently, the Golden State Warriors. I think it's neat when new blood emerges. But I also think there's a pretty good chance that Denver Nuggets are going to be back in the situation a number of times in the coming years. Programming note,
Mobe, my wife just texts me Brooks. He just came running out and plopped in from the radio as soon as you came on. This happens all the time. My cat is in love with you. Um. The Reds last night they lose in eleven innings, but an incredible sellout crowd. I guess it takes this Zach Brown band to bring the Reds a sellout crowd. I mean is that what it takes is surprising and is fun to watch. And these Reds are fun to watch. Mo I'll tell you what.
Even though I don't have Apple TV, that pisses me off, but that's another subject. But these Reds are very very interesting to watch, and I can't say that about last year's squad, but a loss nonetheless last night, and the series continues today. Mean mantra of my radio show about sports teams is you've got to be one of two things. You got to be either
good or interesting, ideally both. We can debate how good the Reds are, I don't think we can debate how interesting they are, because they are interesting and they've got a lot of really interesting decisions to make, you know. I mean, obviously everybody wants to see Ellie the La Cruz. They're caught up from Louisville, a guy that most evaluators ranked at the top prospect in baseball. He'll be here soon. But when he's here, how the
dominoes fall after his arrival is going to be really really interesting. And they've they've got a lot of really good young players who are you know, just sort of developing into specific roles and expanding their roles in some cases. You know, we I think, as sports hand sometimes we tend to kind of live in a little bit of a bubble where, you know, we we surround ourselves with fans of our team and absorb only the coverage of our team.
I was in Chicago last and listening to the coverage of the Cubs after the red swept them, I mean, you would have thought bench Morgan and Rose had just been down. And you know, there were a lot of people commenting on how young and athletic and and it was how much upside the Reds had that this team is going to be, you know, pretty formidable foe in the coming years. But yeah, look, they're not there yet.
The standings would say as much. But I would like to think, and I'm certainly not one who tells people what to do with their money, but I would like to think that as the summer sort of moves on, that this team is interesting enough to compel people to want to come see them play, because I think they are fun to watch. They are a flawed,
they're not great. They're not there yet. But this this franchise, for all the criticism leave and that they've deserved, it's moving in the right direction and that and you could see if if you're paying attention, and if you see, if you watch how how good some of these young guys are and how well are performing, I think you would agree how long before we can legitimately push for either a Spencer Steer or a Matt McLean to be Rookie of the Year. You know, I'll be honest with you, I haven't.
I haven't really vetted that yet. I mean, look, the Spencer year is obviously making a pretty significant case Matt McLean. Yeah, it's just been in the big leagues for two and a half weeks and he's already been the National League Player of the Year. I haven't really sort of looked at the other people that you would consider candidates. But you know, the Jonathan India season two years ago. To be the Rookie of the Year, you
don't have to have league leading numbers. There's a reason they give an award to the best rookie. It's because the expectations are pretty you know, are are pretty low. But yeah, I mean the way Steers hit and the way McLean has certainly held up held his own at the big leagues. But we could also be talking about Ella della Cruise too, because I think he's
gonna get here soon. But the mere fact that you could talk about players in that regard, but you could talk about Steers Rookie of the Year candidacy and the same for Matt McClean, I think is illustrative of what the Reds have, which is a lot of really good, young, promising talent. Absolutely well, Moagger, thank you so much for your time this morning, as always, my friend, and I'm sorry, Brooksie. Are are segments over Take care brother, go back to bet Brooksie. In fact, there's Mo getting cat nip like somebody else does. No, no, Mo does not provide Brooksie with cat nip. He just likes to hear him on the radio. I see, well, so tell me what happened. Tell me what happened at the court part down the bailiffs office on the first floor. Mike, I'm sure
you're aware of that thin blue line flag hanging up. It's been there for I don't know how long, but let's just say forever, and an order came down. Well, let me backtrack this. The hair the Gay Pride months started on June the first, Well, they raised a flag in front of both the city Hall and the courthouse. Now, I'll give the sheriff props on this. I was told by a good another good source that the sheriff has something to do with this. But I'm sure somewhere in the background
she was. When they raised that flag. An order came down from one of the top officials to take the blue line flag down. And it was an order and they said, from what I understand, it's a possibility that would possibly hurt feelings or cause problems because of the whole month. My issue is one of my issues, of course, is that we have Black History
Month February for a month, we have Gay Pride Month in June. I could care less, you know, about any of these things things and I could care less, really, like Michelle Obama said, it's it's material,
it's a flag, it's the symbol and what it stands for. And to give the cops one day out of three hundred and sixty five that they marched down downtown to the memorial and to honor people like Sonny Kim, to give them one day, but to give the gay pride people a month to hang a flag in front of the courthouse, our courthouse and basically tell them take
the flag down, the thin blue line flag. Yeah. Oh, I don't know if that's a censorship deal or whatever the deal is, but I wish somebody will look into it. I'll tell you what, and I will for whatever it's worth. It's a Democrat thing, is what it is. That courthouse is now a Democrat thing? And why are the cops always the ones thrown under the damn bus always? Yeah, I didn't know that, Jim. I am going to look into it, though. I smell a Democrat in a wood bile there. That's okay, Mike. In this came
Gary, Jeff knows the source. It came from an impeccable source. Yeah. Yeah. So they were ordered as of June first, as the gay flag gay Pride flag went up at the courthouse, to take down the thin blue line police flag. Correct, correct, Welcome to the United States of America. Now here. Here's here's the weird thing about this, Jim.
One of the village people was in fact a cop. That's right. Never exactly all right, thank you, And we had all kinds of different people in that so anyway, but thanks for the time, Gary, Jeff, thanks, thanks for the information. I'll be listening. Thanks, Jim. That isn't that crazy? Yeah it is, But let me tell you some rhyme to reason for that. It's somebody that's been going down to that court
ass for fifty years. It has changed, it really has. I mean, it's under Democrat control now and that's typical of something that would happen. And that's just it's unacceptable. It's always the cops throw them under the bus, you know, it's just not right. Events of the week, of course, at the commencement speech for the Air Force, Joe Biden can't stay
on his feet. I haven't talked about this at all because you know, hell, I'm getting to the age where I'm a little unbalanced sometimes walking around and h and uh. But so i'n't. I'ven't talked about the sandbag incident
and whatever they're calling it. It was just funny to see Karyn John Pierre just him and Haught the press conference after we're trying to backpedal and said and and and he's fine, and the doctors say he's fine, and it was a sandbag and blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, and uh, I don't know. It just is another outward sign. It is that Joe Biden is not competent. And you know what, I don't like making fun of him either. I really don't for that. But it is a sign that
he's just losing it physically and cognitively. And that's a problem because guess who we get if he goes by the wayside? God help us. Kamala Harris, Well, now you know, I don't even think in those terms, because they will figure a way to root her out too, because they know she is not She is not popular enough to win reelection anywhere in this country, even no matter how much they cheat, there's no way that she could
get elected. And they understand now that Joe Biden is not cognitively forget about his physical skills, He's not cognitively mentally able to do the job. He's getting worse you listen to him. Well, yeah, that's that's what happens. That's what happens with all signers. That's what happens with age dementia, and it is it doesn't can happen rapidly too. Yes, well we've seen it all unfold the last two and a half have years. Yep, right
in front of our eyes, sad and dangerous. Yeah, what's on the show to day link, Well, we're gonna be talking about the last acceptable prejudice in this country, and that's prejudice against Christians and Catholics. Going to talk about the situation with the La Dodgers inviting a group called the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to their Pride night, and these they're not nuns, but they mocked Jesus Christ. They're SATs, they're sa Satans, their Satanists, they're
Satanists. Going to talk about that they were invited by the Dodgers, uninvited, then reinvited. And can you imagine, Gary Jeff if a group of people conservatives dressed up like Muslims and mocked their religion, My goodness, you know you'd hear about it all over the country. We're going to talk about that. Also, going to talk to Janis Hile, she is the reporter from the Epoch Times assigned to the Trump campaign, going to kind of get an update on where that's. Yeah, you know, and I was talking
earlier about this. I just think that our political campaigns last way too long. They do. I couldn't in these commercials they're running now. And I was a part of that too at one time. They run them because there's some evidence that they work. But you know, I'm sick of it already and we're not even into twenty twenty. Well, it's all about it. It's the same thing that we've seen in our federal government. By the way,
the debt ceiling apparently signed. Yeah, and as my friends Steve from Meta said, they talk about all the savings, it's like, oh, yeah, right, we're not going to spend more than last year, right, huh? And they spent two damn much last year. Yep. Mike Allen, Saturday, midday after the show show at Huddle's Cafe. If you want to stop on by, we'll we'll have the Reds game on today since it's actually on television that most people can get instead of Apple TV. Thank
you. And I'll end the show by saying, once again during this Pride Month, I am proud the two straight people enabled my existence. Yes, God bless have a great day.
