It's time for spring cleaning with Zero's Carpet and Air dot cleaning. April showers bring mayflowers. It also brings a whole lot of mess, like muddy shoes and pollen to your carpet, tile, sofa and other services in your home. Traditional carpet cleaners use soaps and harsh chemicals that leave a sticky

Try and give a succinct wrap up of the first two rounds of the Masters Golf Tournament, and do it while I rudely interrupt you at awkward points. Augusta Nationals doing Augusta National things yesterday. It was a brutal day for former major champions all over the course. I don't think too many people were having great rounds yesterday. Not many people
were able to shoot. Louis Abert was minus three in rounds two and that was one of the highest scores of the day. A lot of people in the pluses. Here's what I this is a stat that just drove me nuts about the wind and the conditions at Augusta yesterday. On Thursday, the total overall was like I think, was seventy six over par for the field. Yesterday it was over three hundred and twenty five over par. I mean people
were not shooting. We're not shooting low scores absolutely. Season pros Rory McElroy, John Ram missed the cut Victor Hoven missed the cut, the PGA FedEx Cup champion last year. YEP, a lot of star Well, three of the United States Ryder Cup teams members missed the cut, and I don't think that's a good sign for our Ryder cut. You know what else is notable about where we stand now at this point in the weekend is that the top three players, it's the first time in a long time that the top three
players after halfway through were all Americans. Yeah, bryceon d Chambeau's Scheffler and Max Hilma all and minus a six hundred part. And there's still a tiger in the hunt at one over par going into a weekend of a tournament that he says he can win and did five years ago. More on that coming up as we continue your Locked on News Radio seven hundred WLW. Hey, you've heard the myths about bathroom moodeling. It takes too long, it's messy,

I have some tips for you on how to quit smoking, like I did. First, I did some reading about it. I found a lot of great advice on how to quit smoking and picked out the ways I thought would work. Best for me. I started by setting a quit date. Then I threw out my ash trays, lighters, and
matches. I did other things too, like exercising more, and it worked, but I'd still get cravings, especially on long car rides. To help me with that, I put a picture of my mother in my car. She died of lung cancer from smoking cigarettes when I was only sixteen. Now I have a sixteen year old daughter. I didn't see the butterfly tattoo, but maybe it was at the time of the photograph position somewhere else. Don't want to think about it. About a quarter after
the hour on a Saturday morning time for old radio. Rick Washburn, who had much excitement this past week going back to Monday and the path of totality and the full solar eclipse. He was in the dark, which is not really much different than most of the time, but for just at least a couple of minutes. So Ricky, good morning, and I got to ask you first, what was it like you live just I mean a hop skip and a good stone throwaway from Indianapolis Speedway. What was it like on Monday?
And Indy tell me so from my house ended morning. By the way, it was a little surreal because as the eclipse at the moment that the eclipse was in full darkness, if you will, as we're looking to the glasses and see that last little bit disappear. The speedway is less than three miles from my house, and you could hear the entire crowd roar and cheer. I bet that was cool. That was kind of cool. Yeah, but it was almost like being in real life but having a laugh track.
It was odd. That's good, good description. I like that. But and then also that the color at the time of the eclipse was interesting because it was on one side of the eclipse. It was that almost like that odd color for anybody that's ever been extremely close to you or in a tornado, there's that kind of weird yellowish greenish tint to everything. Described it. CHRISTA two point zero described it as kind of silvery. It's just weird.
And even though we weren't in the path of totality, here. We observed it from our home in Southgate, and it is that just the oddest, most eerie light in the world in the middle of the daytime. Please go ahead. And I like her. I liked her description to the silvery because on the other side of it, it was almost like you were in a stadium with the artificial lighting. Yeah, and Marie noted that the shadows were
extremely distinct, and yeah, it was. It was surreal. And then it's not even completely dark out, but it's like it's like very early morning or very you know, just past dusk kind of a thing. But all the automatic lights kicked on that normally wouldn't kick on with that level of they kicked on earlier than expected. I would say, yeah, they usually don't kick on at three o'clock in the afternoon. Well, that's also true. Yes, So so tell me how you were receiving us, What kind of
divine have you got? What wonderful beauty of another age? Are you listening to us on? And how is how's it? How are we coming in? Well, you're coming in a solid five by five and this is a nineteen fifty one Motorola. It's a six tube am clock radio and in nineteen fifty one. The big push for most of the companies was well, to sell product, isn't it always, But they were trying to be cheaper and
quality suffered. They were trying to use the most current technology, and sometimes that wasn't compatible with the some of the shortcuts that some of the companies were either making or being forced to make in order to try to stay in business because it was a cut through time. But Motorola hung in there. And you know, this is a six tube. It's got an RF state, so it's a much better receiver than the average what would have been a five
tube or a four tube of this type. The entire front of this mahogany cabinet, so they didn't skimp there either. Is this huge clock that has these wonderful Roman numerals for twelve, three, six, and nine, and it's very period. It's I would call it more masculine than I would say mid century modern. It's not a radical design, but it does look wonderful. Yeah, the gold trim around the clock and the controls for the radio are on the sides. But unlike other companies that cheeped out and just put
the the tuning numbers on one of the dials instead. No, there's a there's a full cross dial underneath the clock that goes fifty five. Did you say, is this an alarm clock or just a clock radio? Well, it is an alarm clock radio. And it's funny you mentioned that, because let's go to the catalog, shall we. I love this. This is my favorite part of these descriptions. Rounding out the complete line of Motorola clock radios is the smart furniture styled set for use in your living or dining room.
Now. I don't know about you, but when you have an alarm clock radio, there's a different room I typically put that in. Well, you know, you need to expand your sleeping horizons. Sometimes I like sleeping in the living room or the dining room, especially if my wife is mad at me. It's fair enough you say you like sleeping there. What do
you mean is yes, of course. But get the cool thing about this is at this radio not only has the classic appliance plug on the back, so you can plug in your toasters, you can have your fresh bagel pop up when the alarm goes off. Of course, because because my toaster is in the living room as well. Go ahead, and it actually has a photograph jack on the back so you can plug in your your phono to it and use the radio as an amplifier. And typically that would be paired with
like one of the early RCA forty five changers. Is it about the same size, boy? I tell you what. The technology was just absolutely going berserk in nineteen fifty one. Mister Washburn. We will think of you today at the anniversary party book signing slash Dick's early birthday party, and we'll see you soon. Give serve somebody a beer without an orange wedge and think of me. Ellie has been going absolutely insane this last week. Hopefully he's still on a pace and he's still making contact with the ball and not striking out in July, August, September. And I love Andrew Abbott. I'm so glad that he has come back so far this season and performed fairly well. Yeah, the end of the season got a little rocky, but he pitched the most innings of his whole career so far, so I think it was great for
a new season to reset. He's a fun pitcher to watch. He can I believe that Andrew Abbott can be maybe not as good as, but very very closely akin to somebody like Greg Greg Abbott, Greg Maddox, Greg Maddocks. You know, did not have the high hard one. He did not have the sit super fast fastball, but he had location and patients and I see that working in Andrew Abbot's favor as well. But anyway, the Masters

Hey, the weather beaver has spoken. It's sunshine and a high in the mid to upper sixties today. Maybe just the slightest chance of raining tomorrow, but mostly sunny and a little bit breezier. I have seventy six On Sunday it is forty three at seven hundred WLW. Seven hundred WLW from Augusta National the Masters into the weekend. Liam. Yeah, one of the best sporting weekends of the year. There's some people that say it's better than the
first weekend of March Madness. I don't know if I agree with that though, But at the top of the leaderboard we have three Americans. Bryson D. Chambeau, Scottie Scheffler and Max Ooima all six under par through the first two rounds. Tiger Woods tied for twenty second, shooting one over par on the whole tourney. He shot even yesterday, and Rory McElroy five over parr Oh shot four over par yesterday with a double bogie on the back nine and
another bogey. Well, it wasn't the cut like plus six though it moved the plus five. Oh it went to plus six yesterday. Wow, it kept moving and moving. Uh huh yeah, uh, I know that when Tiger was finishing, it was like plus four and he was assured of setting another Masters record twenty four consecutive cuts Tiger has made at the Masters, no matter how he performed anywhere else. Quickly give me a Reds update. The Reds one yesterday eleven to one, and tonight Nick Lodolo makes his return to

I get no kick from champe mere alcohol. It doesn't move me at all, So tell me, why should it be true? Did I get a kick out of you? A lot of people get a kick out of our next guest our contributing correspondent from near Columbus, the man of the pithy emails and the pithy phone calls like this one is back
with us News of the week. Steve from Edna. Good morning, my friend, how are you? I'm pretty dug. I'm good. Hey. I got an email from Rick Washburn this week. It was absolutely hysterically funny. Thank you, Rick, lifting my spirits. Speaking of lifting your spirits of all the big news that occurred this week, Ojay and Don Staley, How about this NPR executive spilling the beans Uri Berliner, senior Business editor and twenty five year MPR executive, and essay in The Free Press. He says,
we goofed. We didn't do the right thing. We screwed up the Russia collusion story on NPR. We trusted Adam Schiff, whom we interviewed over twenty times on that subject, even though we knew he was a liar. We screwed up on the twenty twenty New York Post Hunter laptop story. We poo pooed it at MPR, We refused to cover it, and then it turned out to be true. The Wuhan lab. We screwed that one up too. The source of COVID, the Wuhan lab. We ignored it.
We thought, hey, it'll only helped Trump. Yeah. Not only that, but Uri did some research on eighty seven people in the NPR news room. He checked their voter registration eighty seven to zero, all Democrat. You know, it reminded me Gary Jeff Bernard Goldberg's treas on CBS, where he worked for nearly thirty years. I love that book. I have that book. Bio or two of them. There was bias and then the other one was called arrogance. That's about. That's about all you need to know.
But the week wasn't over. We had a bunch of EXCBS editorial people, including Cheryl Atkinson, who is now famous for full Measure, testifying on FIZA seven two. This was really fascinating. They were talking about protecting their sources while working at CBS. They were talking about internal newsroom spies who were looking into their sources and revealing them without their knowledge to sources outside of CBS. Deja vu, Gary Jeff all over again, nineteen seventies debate over shield laws
protecting reporters and their sources. Yeah, very very interesting. Well, let's skip to OJ for a second. You know what the difference is between nineteen ninety five and now with regard to racism. Racism is now fashionable. Yeah, it's not only okay to be racist like CRT, it's obligatory. That's the big difference. The old school black heroes all they were Frederick Douglas, Booker, T Washington, Martin Luther King. The new school Black heroes are
Rodney King, George Fentanyl, Floyd and OJ. The new Reparation Simpson. Welcome to the brave new world of Orwellian wellness. Jac Brown was a British psychiatrist. I had a book of his I was reading it when I was in graduate school back in the sixties. He had a great, great, great line that was just worth the whole book. A sick group chooses a sick leader. In nineteen ninety five, as I watched these jurors roll out a non guilty verdict on oj Simpson, I thought to myself, what's the
message that they're really sending to the world. The message is life is cheap. The hell with two white people who have their heads cut off as a result of a drug addled ex jock who decided that his wife shouldn't be visiting with a guy who was a waiter at a restaurant. They sacrificed two white lives, or just two lives, it's called two lives, and just ignored
it. Didn't They have the chickens come home to roost. When I look around Chicago or Columbus or Memphis and I see black kids lying in the street dead, life is cheap, isn't it? Isn't that the lesson that you taught us jurors in nineteen ninety five, Life is cheap? No, it isn't the black lives do matter, whether it's abortions or whether they're lying in
the street. Amen, let's get to something else real quick. Dawn Staley, You know, Gary, Jeff, you and I were obviously rudy for Iowa hard, but we got it to the fourth quarter and I realized they're gonna win by at least eight. They won by twelve. South Carolina they were thirty eight and zero. Nobody beat them, nobody, So Dawn, God bless her, great coach, great coach, all time, great coach. She then got it through a press conference and she said she was okay
with guys playing on girls' teams. Yep, And I thought, Dawn, are you freaking nuts? We're in a world of freaking insanity. But Dawn, you're on top of the world. The women are already out pulling men's march madness. Far more people watch the women's national championship then watch the men. Now, let me ask you this question, Dawn, if you're going to invite men to play for South Carolina, and I don't know why the hell you would, how do you officiate fairly a mixed male female round ball
game. Now, we've been watching the females We've been watching the males. Every time somebody drives into the paint, bodies are flying all over the place. Right, nobody gets through the paint. Standing up, Now, what the hell's going to happen when you take a six foot eight inch, two hundred and forty pound guy and you mix them up with the girls. What do you think is going to happen? I think there's going to be a hell of a lot of injuries. I think this is one of the dumbest
things I have ever heard anybody say in my entire life. But down, you know what, You're excused because we just talked about MPR. We just talked about CBS. We're exposed every week to Joe Biden and his wonderful vice president. You know what, Down, you had a bad day for just a second. The rest of the year was fabulous. Please please, no men on women's teams. Thank you. The women are doing fine. Hey Gary, Jeff, God bless you, God bless you. Steve from ETNA,
great call, sneezing, coughing stuff. Almost seven o'clock, six fifty six and some change. And on the line is our friend Tim from Oak Arbor, Tim Shimming, Good morning, what's going on, Oh not much. How are we doing? You sent me a photo? Is this one of your your prize winning uh specialty? Those are cooney pigs? Oh? Those okay, so it's not as okay, these are what what did you
call them? Coney? What? Cooney? Cooney? I worked with a guy here named Brian Cooney who was a production guy and a voice guy, and he is now the national voice of the History Channel and he's in commercials all the time. I'm sure, I'm sure the pigs and Brian Cooney have nothing in common. But anyway, no, so, so anyway, how old are these cooney pigs that you're showing me? A couple by three four months? And people have to use them in animal therapy for what? People
who want some bacon? No, people that want to be have therapy with animals? Okay, them and our donkeys. Now, does your friend Lisa, who is the donkey whisper also whisper to the the pigs? Yes, to bathe them. So what is it? What is a pig like as a pet or a therapy animal? I mean, what do they provide the person self help? So tell me how a pig provides someone self help? They they can pet them, They get to look at them, and they enjoy them, not eating them, not the way I would enjoy pigs.
No, No, that's probably not close. Okay, so that's that's really cool. Do we have any any occasions coming up where people might enjoy cooney pigs as self help therapy? Animals? They can go to? Uh you completely as soon as you said they can go to you, you just muffled out, what'd you say? Farm farm Shine Fields. That's our website, farm Shine Fields. Yep, wonderful they can have. They can come and look at the animals and touch them and enjoy them. Okay, that's uh
my mind is running wild here. Well, Tim Simming, thank you so much for the update. We have to go now, and I'm gonna sit here. I'm gonna sit here and stare at the photo of the cooney pigs and see if I can get some self help long as your mouth is at watering when you look at them, exactly, Thanks brother. I have a good weekend. Seven hundred WLW four by government. Did you hear a secret
hoard of eighteen ninety three to ten dollars gold liberty coins? After a rainy stretch, we are dry to kick off your Saturday, and we see lots of sunshine today. You top out the mid to upper sixties for your Sunday, A lot of sunshine and temperatures in the mid to upper seventies for mese of your weather station. The two men who share April fourteenth, and we also will have a Keepsake Kim Kim Rice from Keepsake Photography Darren Mountain Lookout will have a copy of my copy of the book from the anniversary party back in February, and if you'd like to come you were there and you'd like to sign my yearbook. It
would be great to have you along for the ride. Right now, time to talk to our environmental engineer, all things climate that are actually true, Steve Schultze. I see trees so green, recis I see them blue? And I think to myself what I wonder? Good morning, Steven, how are you? Good morning? I deserve yourself well, thank you very much. Uh So, let's get right to the meat of the matter. Got
a lot going on this half hour. Uh I wanted to ask you about your thoughts, your review per Se of the Climate, the movie put out by the CO two coalition. It's an eighty minute documentary filled with scientists and scientific facts that the New Green Deal people don't want you to know. Since that great tell me what tell me what you found? Well, there's lots.
I found just a few things this morning. First, I liked near the beginning of the film, doctor will Happer, who served as science advisor for three presidents, talked about He said, I like call these folks climate alarmists. There really are climate scammers. And I pretty much set the tone of the entire film. One of the things I learned Garry Jeff is I
didn't realize this. The longest instrumental temperature record that we have that means thermometers and for those in viavis, is located in central England, starting at eighteen I'm not eighteen sixteenth to today. It shows a gentle warming of a tad over two degrees fahrenheit. In fact, it shows that summer temperatures almost no increase, but during the winter temperature it shows a very slight increase. So what that thermometer is telling us is that we're not getting hotter, we're getting
milder. But what the So another interesting thing. I've known a little bit about this, but got a little bit a lot more information. Doctor John Klauser, the twenty twenty two Nobel Prize winner in physics. He talked about clouds. He says, big bright white puppy clouds reflect heat back into space that hundreds of times more powerful and putting it back in space and CO two
has the traffic. And then in a related manner, two Dutch scientists working in Jerusalem found a link between the temperature record over millions of years with supernova's in our galaxy. So supernovas are stars that explode, and as they explode, they get particles called cosmic rays al's at the speed of light, and that when these rays hit our atmosphere they act as cloud seeds that helped form
these big white puppy break clouds that cool the Earth. And as our Earth has permitted around the center of the Milky Way galaxy, these cosmic rays intensity, ebb and flow. You know, they go up, they go down. So they go up, we get cooler, as they go down, we get warmer. But then they also looked at it. What about shorter time frames? They looked at sun activity that dominates. And when the Sun is more active with magnetic storms and what have you, there's more solar wind.
Solar wind is a barrier to cosmic rays, which means less white clouds, which means less reflection and more warming. And when the Sun is more active, less active, there's less soul which means more cosmic grays into our atmosphere, which means more white clouds and more cooling. Okay, and at further another related matter, doctor Willie Soon, who I met at one of
the Heartland conferences, on climate change. Looked at the record from eighteen eighty to twenty twenty, and he found that the variation of sun activity matches the temperature change of rural temperature stations around the world that do not have the urban heat island effects. Okay, here, hold on just a second, we're out of time Climate the movie. Can you still find that climate the movie online? Yes? What if you can't, where do you go? Climatedemovie
dot net? All right, fantastic, Steve Schulty, as always, thank you, my friend. All right, my friend Rocco doesn't know this, but we're gonna have somebody questioned some of his biohacking findings about wheat Next at seven to eleven, listening to a man cooked dinner for his date, isn't funny? Try this baby listening to her reaction after she eats he his under cooked chicken. You don't feel so well? He is funny. Eddie and
Rocky are also funny. So when you think of date spewing rock chicken chunks like a fire hose, think of Eddie and Rocky. Eddie and Rocky. Monday afternoon at three on seven hundred WLW. I'm Tiffany, I have some tips for you on how to quit smoking like I did. First, I did some reading about it. I found a lot of great advice on how to quit smoking and picked out the ways I thought would work best for me. I started by setting a quit date. Then I threw out my ash
trays, lighters, and matches. I did other things too, like exercising more, and it worked, but I'd still get cravings, especially on long car rides. To help me with that, I put a picture of my mother in my car. She died of lung cancer from smoking cigarettes when I was only sixteen. Now I have a sixteen year old daughter. That picture of my mother reminds me that I don't want to miss all the things my daughter is going to do in her life, including turning seventeen. You can

A message from the US Department of Health and Human Services and CDC Jeff Wilerhonda dot Com forecasts sunshine and a high in the mid to upper sixties today, over clear overnight, and tomorrow just a slight chance of showers, mostly sunning otherwise for Sunday, breezy, a high in near seventy six and nearly eighty on Monday, it's time for spring planning. With Zero's carpet and air doc cleaning. April showers
bring mayflowers. It also brings a whole lot of mess, like muddy shoes and polygon. Well. I hope that this phone call does not get physical if you can, yes, Thank you, Liam Rocco Costelano, Good morning, my friend training a fitness expert and biohacker on the line for our usual Saturday morning conversation. And Rocco, I gotta tell you, a few weeks back, you were talking about dwarf wheat, and you were talking about how it's awful for people. All right, So I have on the line.
I'm not sure what his title is, but he is with the Ohio Corn and Wheat Growers Association. He is a muckety muck there. He travels all over the country promoting Ohio's wonderful crops of corn and wheat. And he took exception to your comments that wheat, that wheat as we know it in this country is bad for us. And he said, I have never heard of dwarf wheat. And I'm in the wheat and corn business, and there is no dwarf wheat grown in Ohio. Brad Moppatt, welcome to the show.
Well, I know he was grown in Ohio. All right, Rocco. Let let's let's hold on, hold on, Rocco, hold on. Okay, let's introduce bread and let him say hello. Okay, Brad, good morning, Hello, Hello Roco. I'm looking forward to a friendly exchange here. But what I will tell you is all wheat and I and there's six
different classes of wheat. We grow the soft red in Ohio, which is for cookies, crackers, pastries, the sweet wheat, and then out well they grow the hard red and the hard wheats, and there's no dwarf wheat. But I will tell you this, all wheat grown in the US, with very little exception is a semi dwarf and uh so when we u and I also admire the fact you make your own sour dough bread. I love
that stuff. But when it comes to making the sour dough bread, it's the sour dough starter that releases a cd chon lactic acid and the flour you use, and the flour you use is bread wheat, which is hard red winter wheat flour or hard red bring wheat flour. And the other thing, I'll just say real quick, there is no gm O wheat anywhere in the world rago. Yeah. So there's so you're telling me that they don't that they don't grow a wheat, the semi dwarf wheat that is that is a
resistant to pesticides and and to and two different pests. You're going to tell me that right now on the radio. I am, And that doesn't come from a GMO. What it comes from is a plant breeding over years. And I also called everyone's attention to work of nor borolog. Uh Nobel Dialog is the one who actually created the dwarf. In the semi dwarf we and I know who we created the who Nelson Burlog is still the Norman door Loog.
But our semi our we is semi dwarf. And the reason for that is h oh in the eighteen hundreds from the we come over from Europe and from Ukraine, the wheat was five feet tall. Uh yeah, yeah, it was too long. And the and the winds in the planes beat beat the hell out of the wheat, oh, without question, even in Ohio
for our soft red. But the reason, the the other main reason for breeding into a semi dwarf is the fact that when the plant is using its energy and nutrients to fill the grain, it all though has to take care of growing the stalk. And when we went to the semi dwarf over the tall wheat, we were able to increase yields because we're able to the wheat plant itself was able to put more energy in nutrients into the grain instead of that long stalk. Listen, we can debate this all day, but it's
it's been so compelling so far. I think that I need to give you each other's phone numbers because I'm all we I'm all weeded out, and Brad I was the same thing. I'm just well you you were kind of villainizing American wheat rock. Oh, that's what you were doing. And that's what Brad took exception to. And I think this does need more discussion, but not what we have time for this morning. And I think I think Brad's message is when it comes to Ohio grown, uh, you can't beat our
wheat. Have a great weekend, guy, We gotta go. Rocco. Good to meet you, Rocco. Right, it's seven twenty. Time for the Tom Davis diaries. I like to call them diary. That was thrilling, wasn't it? Two and a half minutes a week? You only get that here. Here's Tom Davis. Good morning, Gary, Jeff. This week, ain't nobody messing with Granny. But first, his name is Caleb Ritter. He's a snowboarder from Idaho who lost his right hand in a snowboarding
accident. But don't worry. Caleb's doing just fine, and so was his detached hand. Newsweek magazine reports that Caleb had his missing appendage put into a small glass case full of gems and other shiny objects and is now using it as a Christmas tree ornament. In good old Florida, a man who was clocked at ninety miles an hour was being pulled over when he thought it could
out smart officers by switching seats. Jordan Brockington tried to switch seats with his girlfriend while the car was coming to a stop, but the cops weren't fooled, and he was arrested for driving without a license. Some guy who was working as a janitor in a German museum was fired for hanging up his own art. The fifty one year old was hanging his original artwork next to iconic
works from artists such as Andy Warhol. He was hoping it would lead to him getting discovered, and who knows, maybe it has and finally Granny gonna get him. A sixty two year old grandma fought off a massive snake with a baking sheet. Sharon Norton was cooking away in her kitchen when the neighborhood lost power and her home went dark. She thought she heard a noise coming from behind the oven. Sure enough, a sixteen foot python was squirming around.
The snake actually came after Sharon, but she beat it back with a cookie sheet while she called animal control, and the officer who finally caught the snake praised Grandma Sharon for her her bravery. Next week, a toddler swallows a diamond wedding ring minutes before the ceremony. Have a great weekend. When do you like to listen to Scott's loan? I listened when I need to hear some common sense instead of a bunch of political bs. Not a bad
idea. I listened to his podcast when I get my roots touched up. I bet that I turn on his podcast when I want to get my wife in the mood, and it works all right. I tune in to hear a real man. I guess anytime is the right time for sloany. And tomorrow this afternoon you top out in the mid to upper sixties for your Sunday, We're topping out in the mid to upper seventies for recip your weather station. I'm nine First Warning Meteorologist Cameron Harden on News Radio seven hundred WLW seven to one hundred WLW Sports Liam Tomlin. We have a new pope in the Bluegrass. Yeah, Smoke, Blue Smoke came out of Rapperena this week and
Sunday it'll be official. Mark Pope will be the coach of the Kentucky Wildcats and champion on the ninety six team. Although he is not he's a Mormon technically, but I guess he can still be the Pope of the Bluegrass Mormon technically technically Okay, So how do you feel about that? As a big UK fan, So I was kind of like everybody else in first and now, so I was like, what are we doing? He's never won a
tournament game. But then all the nostalgia coming back with like the ninety six team, all his teammates and all the older UK guys that are like super excited and bought in because we're so used to the Cali Perry and all the NBA guys, and I love them and it's been fun. But it's cool to see the rekindling of the older Kentucky fan base and players coming back because
they weren't really shut out under Cal, but they weren't as involved. And I think Mark Pope will bring back a bunch of these guys from the ninety six team. Did you see the Rick Patino video. He even said he'll donate and I owe money if it's oh, that's well. Already they've received something like four million dollars in donations for the nil from what I understand. The Reds winners on the road in the South Side of Chicago against the White
Sox. They beat him up eleven to one. Yeah, Andrew Abbott gets to win after going seven innings with three strikeouts, giving up four hits in one earned run, Ellie with a three run bomb nice and the top of the third. Tyler Stevenson followed up Ellie's home run with a solo shot of
his own. Christian In Carnoncio Strand, and Santiago Espional each had three RBIs and the Reds look to take the series this afternoon, with Nick Ludolo making his season debut and Nick Garrett Crochet on the mound, who is an alci On candidate this season. He has twenty one strikeouts and one base on ball so far and could shut down that big Red machine real quickly. The Masters, we have three tied at the top at six hunder heading into the weekend
rounds. Yes, I just want to mention the Reds game first pitch is at two to ten. You can listen right here on seven hundred WLW for the Masters. Max Homa, Bryson d Chambeau and Scottie Scheffler all six under par going into today. Tiger Woods still in the hunch plus one not too far back. No one really gained a big lead yesterday. In fact, Bryson d Schambeau was seven under going into Friday. And now that the sun is coming out with the winds and everything that they're expecting the course to be

With a constantly changing landscape at news twenty four hours a day, he was a radio seven hundred w l W into another hour of this Saturday morning edition for Saturday, April thirteenth, twenty twenty four. Hey Howdie, I'm Gary Jeff Walker. You are you, and that's perfectly fine with me, no matter what you may heard about.
Man, I'm a very open minded guy. Nine minutes past the hour of eight o'clock and it is time to talk to our friend science Mike with a science minute. See what he's got cooking in the lab this morning. Yes, as another scientist is a bit surprising, it the well blinded me. It is always a bit surprising. Michael, good morning. How are you. I see you survived these solar eclipse It was I survived that. Did you get a chance to see it? Well, not in the path of
totality. We decided to eschew the long traffic jams coming out of the eclipse and decided to just view it at home as much as we could in Southgate, Kentucky. But we actually it was a great day because my wife and I are out there in the front of the end. It was a beautiful day, perfect eclipse viewing, and we had our glasses. We had our glasses, and I guess the weird light darkness that we experienced in Southgate.
It was about forty forty five seconds long, obviously not as long in other places, but it drew our neighbors, our next door neighbors out on the porch. It was the first time that we'd actually had any long time conversation with them, and it was great. Talk about drawing people together. It did that for us, and that was probably the neatest thing about it for
meersonally. But you know that that weird light that happens. And yes, the temperature did drop there too, about five degrees or so that that breeze was kind of chilly all of a sudden, and then you know we were back to full light and warmer again. But uh so, anyway, yeah, it was. It was a great day. Where where did you view it? I was, uh, right on the shore of Lake Erie, uh by uh an uh Oak Carver. Yeah, yeah, it was. It was. I'll tell you what I I was just speechless when it when
it when it when it uh, when it totally covered it. I mean it was like a like a bam. It was a type of you know one of those moments where he's like you drop your jaw and you said, oh my gosh, and uh, there's the quickest three minutes of my life.
And uh, you know, about a minute before the geese up there they started they start really quacking, going going off, and then all of a sudden, once it happened, and everything was like quiet, and uh, you know some people in the boat that were still docked at the dock there that they live up the marijuana joint and joy at the moment, and uh uh you know, it was uh, it was interesting. It was
uh that's I'm working. Well. I enjoyed my solar eclipse marijuana free, by the way, but to each his zone, I would imagine, so, but it was a great day. Did you have anything new to offer? Real quickly? Well, quickly there was some red spots that if you some people noticed it. I mean I was, I was trying to look at everything around, not only just the totality, but some some red spots that people were staying they were solar players. Actually they were. They weren't
actually solar players. Were they're solar prominences. And those are actually events where the sun kind of the material just loops away from it and it never leaves the actual Sun. It's just it's just a large like a pickup of the of the of the material of the Sun, and they go out about thousands of miles and they can last up the months months at a time. So that's what we actually what people are saying, they weren't actually the solar flares
which caused uh spit out actually coming right. Well, I just remember, I mean the sun is a big bowl of gas, kind of like Lizzo after and all unique. Oh you can eat buffet. Michael having really good Oh he is man, God bless him man, his recovery is and all the prayers. I'm sure, I am certain that is what has put him over the top. Thank you, Michael, have a great weekend. Brother

Courtesy of our friends Rick Green, Light of Mine. I'm going let it shine, this light of mine. I'm going let it shine, Miss Light of Mine. I'm can I get an Adelujah? Gary. I woke up praying for you and your listeners. Hey, Gary, I got to tell you what happened Monday. I was handing out the banks at the homeless facility because I was busy last weekend. A guy behind me said, are you on the radio? And I turned around. I said, how do you know? She's I listening to Gary Jeff every Saturday So there you go. Gary walked up to me. That's great, that's great. So what verse do you have from the Word of God this morning?
Rick? We have Titus chapter two, Versus eleven and twelve. It says, for the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self controlled, upright, godly lives in the present age. Amen. And something that I think most of us struggle with. We get all cut up and in the trappings of this temporary world that we're living in that is technically not our home as children of God, and we forget about the things that
are important. That. This is something that's been tossing and turning in my mind now for the last couple of months, you know, as you're my gud Gary. When I read that, I instant leaped all of myself. Yep. I had to look at me and examine me, yep. Because if our eyes are focused on worldly things, then it obscures our vision of eternity and the greatness of God the Creator all the time. All right, brother Rick, have a great weekend. I'll talk to you tomorrow. We're
going to attempt another butt but God podcast with Rick Green. You can find out on YouTube. And let's see before we hit the break more turtles stuff you got in the wake of our Rock and Roll archaeology segment with Jim Lebarber. The music professor. Dan heard the turtles earlier and had a story he wanted to relate to us. Good morning, Dan, How are you doing, Hey Gary, Jeff doing great? So what did you have for us?
Dan? Yeah, So my wife, ex wife, ex wife two point zero, Amy told me this story when she was eight years old summer vacation. Her family was staying at a hotel I believe was in Lexington, and the turtles were touring and they were staying at the same hotel as their family, and they were in the swimming pool with at the hotel, swimming swimming pool outside and they were splashing and carrying on and having a great time. And my wife gloves telling the story that when she was eight years old,
she swam with the turtles. Usually literally swam with the turtles. Usually you gotta go to Sea World to do that or something. I don't that's great. Who would imagine turtles in the pool? All right?
