Since we're in the middle of a season with lots of respiratory viruses going around, I mean COVID just the tip of the iceberg RSV, and there are some other unnamed viruses and even though they're not darlings of Pfizer because they haven't come up
with a vaccine for the common cough. Lots of people coughing. I don't know if you've noticed it, but the real causes behind coughing is a titleist article and how to get rid of it and recognize as a symptom that is difficult to alleviate and why do we sometimes cough persistently? According to doctor Kane Fan Chung, a professional of National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College of London, cough very much is a natural and protective thing. It protects our
lungs. It's like a burglar alarm you have at home, so if a burglar goes into your home, the alarm system goes up on the respiratory tract abundant nerve endings, some of which are known as couf receptors, located in the throat, vocal cords, and upper airway of the lungs. Reacting to foreign substances. When we cough, we often gasp deeply, allowing air to
penetrate the lungs. Following this, the glottis closes, covering the airway, while muscles in the chest and abdomen contract forcefully, So I'm just looking at how to stop this. You know, viralar bacterial infections, chemical toxins, inflammation, allergies, mucus in the nose, and stomach acid all can stimulate your cough receptors. Various sensory receptors located in the ears, nose, stomach, pleura, pericardium, and other areas all capable of triggering the coughing reflex.
And it goes on to say the coughs, acute coughs are typically self resolving. In other words, it'll take care of itself in time, and yet you still have that nagging cough or that that little scratch in the throat that makes you want to hitch By coughing, most patients who have acute cough it's the body's natural response to infection to get rid of the secretions. So if you cough, it's not a bad thing, just annoying. But there
is no known sure fire treatment or cure for the common cough. Just make sure you turn your head when you do it, and please don't spray me. Six twenty eight seven hundred WLW. This is tinambi. It's time to check in with our friend from met In, Ohio, Steve Simon with a fifty phone call and news of the week. Good morning, my friend, Good morning Gary, Jeff. Here's a story that has been pushed to sign I think it needs quite
a bit of coverage. Let's begin here. Michigan and Massachusetts have set up state programs asking sponsors in quotes to provide housing, among other perks, to illegal aliens. In each case, it's hard to tell if the sponsors are going to get reimbursed. So far it is voluntary. Whether the states will
be using federal money to fund these shelter programs is not clear. Let's take a Paul Revere ride back to seventeen sixty five to see if the impetus for using private residences to shelter controversial groups is the impetus for the thinking behind the People's republics of the Bay State and Michigan. The British overlords in seventeen sixty five passed the Quartering Acts, which required colonial legislatures to provide for the housing
in private residences were available of British troops. So repugnant were the Quartering Acts that Article three of the Constitution's Bill of Wrights stipulates no soldier in peacetime shall be quartered in any house without the owner's permission. The colonials inherited a famous principle of British law. A man's home is his castle. So do you really own your home these days? Let's go back to April of twenty twenty
one. A few months after Joe Biden got into office, he proposed the famous or infamous Infrastructure Bill, which contained a Biden campaign promise to abolish single family zoning where it exists. Single family zoning protects those housing units from multifamily units such as apartment buildings and corcial structures, from moving in next door and decreasing a single family homes values and their quality of life, which they paid
for. Interestingly, Biden, Pelosi and other rich Democrats live in protected neighborhoods including the very exclusive gated communities. Now they have decided that it's exclusionary zoning. NPR, a quasi governmental outlet, jumped on the bandwagon in twenty twenty three, saying single family status encourages segregation by race and class. Oh my
gosh, the race card. When the infrastructure bill finally passed in late twenty twenty one, single family zoning proposal was nowhere to be seen, and the final bill was pared down to one point two trillion dollars from the original two point three trillion. Now there's progress, But progressive policies have a life of their own, Gary Jeff, They never die. The next year, Biden
proposed ten billion dollars to any government that abolished single family zoning. California, of course, and other states and municipalities sucked at the federal trough and quickly passed laws abolishing such zoning. And the proponents came up with a new claim of perniciousness, throwing everybody in the same neighborhood plot will ease the housing shortage, which you and I know was created by government policies that have absolutely nothing
to do with racism. For starters, how about inflation checked your local real estate market lately. Wow, and where does inflation start is not with a bunch of Christian nationalists to poor or insurrectionists. Once again, Progresses blame somebody else for your disingenuousness and downright stupidity, unless, of course, you actually
are trying to destroy America. In the end, Progressives will have their exclusionary housing, just as communist dictator Fidel Castro did when he commandeered nineteen haciendas for his personal use. Gary Jeff you mentioned earlier the one hundred point game by Will Chamberlain. This brings up the subject of Jumpin' Johnny Green. He was paid tribute last Sunday. I think it was in a Michigan State game. Jump and Johnny died November sixteenth or twenty twenty three. He was eighty nine.
He's a Dayton, Ohio native, graduated from Dayton Dunbar High School, Michigan State All America six five power forward. Played for the New York Knicks and four other teams, including hold on the Cincinnati Royals. Yes, an NBA All Star team four times. He became a very successful McDonald's franchise. See in retirement, I had, yes, your reporter the distinct pleasure of seeing Jumpin' Johnny Green play against Wilt Chamberlain, who was seven feet and the
difference of course and seven feet is seven inches. Now you would think a guy who's six' five can't block a shot by a guy who's seven feet, wouldn't you. Well, this game was in the old Madison Square Garden. He actually did block a shot by Wilt, and the crowd, of course went wild. Later, Will claimed, you can't legally block any of my shot. That's because I'm shooting down at the basket. Now, that didn't work. By the way, Johnny signed with the Royals as a free
agent. He moved with the team to Kansas City. His Cincinnati coach was Celtic's great Bob Coosey. The Royals ultimately wound up as the Sacramento Kings. Yes, that franchise goes all the way back to the Rochester, New York Royals one hundred and one years ago. Jumping Johnny Green, God bless you. I really enjoyed watching you play. Hey, take care of yourself.
Thank you very much. Steve from mettno Ohio. Great memory stuff. My favorite professional basketball story isn't it doesn't revolve around Wilt Chamberlain or jumping Johnny Green.
But it goes back to the days of the American Basketball Association the ABA, the Red, White, and Blue ball, and there was a team known as the Spirit of St. Louis who did not make the merger with the NBA, but did get a nice settlement in perpetuity where the owners of the Spirit of Saint Louis got paid just like every other NBA franchise royalties for
years and years and years. Anyway, they had a player named Marvin Barnes on the Spirit of Saint Louis and I love Bob Costas, who was the announcer in Saint Louis locally for that franchise, always told the story about the Spirit of Saint Louis being in Louisville to take on the Kentucky Colonels, and the game was over and they had to get on the plane going back to
Saint Louis, which of course was in Central time zone. Louisville was in the Eastern time zone and came time to get on the team plane and Marvin Barnes refused to get on the plane and the guard Freddy Caldwell, his teammate came up, said, Marvin, we got to get on the plane. It's get ready to take off. I'm not getting on that thing, said why not? And Marvin took out his ticket that said departing eleven fifty five pm, arriving eleven fifty pm. He said, I'm not getting on no
time machine. Gotta love that. You're all geniuses six fifty three. No word in English language is less convincing than probably. Are you sure we should get matching tattoos on our first date? Sure? Will probably stay together. Probably, it's been twenty three minutes since I ate. I can probably swim. You should wait thirty minutes. Okay, I'll tell me what to do. Cannon ball cramp? Oh, I have a cramp. I can probably hit the green from here? Probably? Can I get a Mulligan? Ready
to get Hey, are you sure you're okay to drive? Yeah? I'm pretty sober. Yeah, I'm probably okay. Probably okay isn't okay, especially when it comes to drinking and driving. If you're drinking, call a cab, a car, or a friend. Buzz driving is drunk driving. A message brought to you by NITS and AD Council Debtre's this morning in the low forties, but you warm up close to sixty. This after the Lighthouse from an unnamed source that President Joe Biden finally decided to take the De Montreal Cognitive

Thirty points not pass it. They took it all together and they simply could not pass it. Is there any validity to this story at all? Dennis So from an unnamed source. Unnamed source kind of like how the Associated Press writes the stories about Donald
Trump. Experts say, an unnamed source said, when they're just when they're just making stuff up. Yeah, let's not stoop to their level. Please, thank you very much. It's good to talk to you. Last Saturday would not have been the great day it was without all the people who showed
up at Huddles to celebrate the twenty seventh anniversary of this program. And it certainly would not have been the great day it was without the attendance of this guy who took care of us with food and just so much goodwill and Christian brotherhood. Ray Scott from Loveland, thank you so much for making the party

And it's a beautiful thing and a beautiful thing of witness. And to see these voices come like and Jim Lebarbara bottomwa he looked like a new dollar bill. Jim is like the ageless wonder An't that guy is just amazing? Jim is Jim is eighty two years old.
And you would never know that if you met him, or you talked to him, or you know, we're worried about a cognitive test for our current president. Jim would run circles around Joe. There's no question. Jim is just a gift to keep someng giving and on the nets showing up. Gary Jeff. I just hope you realize how much people really really thank you. Brother. You are a blessing. So glad to know you. Thank God for you. God bless you brother, all the very best to you today.

Did you know one of the best US US go ahead in climate realism. They studied recent data. And this is from the UN. So this is not some right big organization.
This is from the Food and Agricultural Organization in the United Nations estimated the number of colonies worldwide climbed by forty six percent between nineteen ninety twenty twenty one.
But it's not just in certain places. All over the globe, you're up eleven percent North and South America, where we live, up twenty percent in Africa, thirty eight percent, in Oceania, which is basically Australian around Australia, B colonies grouped ninety percent, and in Asia be populations expanded ninety five percent. My goodness, and again, yeah and again, what's part of
the reason, not the whole reason. Part of the reason is that because of global greening, it benefits forests for pollen producing plants, which honeybees need not only for food, but they also need forests for their nesting habitat. And then the other good news, same partland thing is CO two induced greening
speeding up globally. Again. New research from the Global Ecology and Conservation Publication shows that global greening is not only a fact, but the amount and rate of greening has increased since twenty to the year two thousand and Gary Jeff. This is not just somebody who makes up the data. This is based upon satellite data that it's research to use, something called leaf area index data sets.
And what they have again found is that between two thousand and one and twenty twenty, CO two fertilization and land management practices resulted in an increasing rate of greening. Greening accelerated in fifty five percent of the globe and decelerated more browning and only seven percent of the globe. So again with cause of CO two man and plant life and whatnot is flourishing as we have done whenever in the past. The global warmed modestly, proving once again that what we really
need right now is the green old deal. Thank you, Steven, have a great weekend. Seven wlw oh my w weeks is out and he makes the tests going into a die. Oh well, thank you very much for having me. Yeah, it was awesome to meet you, to meet everybody. And you were standing right next to President Trump in the group picture. Yes I was, Yes, I was. I
was very happy to be standing Next time. Yep, between between between Radio Rick and President Trump, there's Roco. Hopefully we're gonna get those pictures. That group picture posted on our page here on seven under w LW dot com very soon because it is a stellar, standout group of folks and I love all of your faces. So what do you got this morning? Well, I have something that that almost no one ever talks about, and it is
vitamin K two. So during the uh, the scandemic, uh we, some doctors you know that are a little bit smarter than than others, were talking about vitamin D three, but they were missing another vitamin that's vital for when you take vitamin D three, and that's K two. Now K two, Uh, Well, the vitamin of K two actually regulates serum calcium and
also regulates a calcium and helps to prevent heart disease. This is something that cardiologists don't even talk about and don't even I mean for some reason, I believe they don't want you to know about them. But K two helps to regulate the calcium, which is what causes most of the blockages. You know, like whenever, whenever people talk about a cholesterol, it's really not the cholesterol that actually causes the clogging of the arteries. It's actually calcium. And
it's because of the deficiency of vitamin K two. Because the calcium is what builds up around the walls of the vascular system, the arteries and the veins, and it becomes like cement. It literally, uh, it becomes like a concrete walls. Is it is it is that what they called is that what they call plaque is that calcium build up. No, so so plaque is is uh is a thick, viscous and and they used to believe that a cholesterol was the course of of that. But the plaque builds up,
right, and and your blood is very viscous. So there's a viscosity in your blood, and there's minerals, and there's and there's all these other things in the city, you know, in the in the vascular system, right, that creates a viscus or a very thick blood. So but anyway back back to the calcium. Yeah, so the calcium sticks sticks to the wall because cholesterol is supposed to kind of spackle over allesions in the in the vascular system. Well, it never does the job. So then calcium comes in
and says, get out of the way. And then and then calcium starts to do the job, but it gets it gets it always does too good of a job. So we don't want that, and so I want everyone out there to look at it. Definitely, if you're taking vitamin A D three as as a supplement, to also take at least at least one hundred milligrams of vitamin K two. All right, well, hopefully we'll get together on Tuesday for the nightcap. We don't have a whole lot of nightcaps left,
but that's it important. Vitamin K two. Yeah, and we can go yeah, and I can go into that a little bit more and why and what and all of that on the NIGHTCA I got you, Thank you very much. Time now for the Tom Davis Diaries I call them then with the wildest news stories from around the country, around the world, once again the aforementioned broadcaster, newscaster Tom Davis. Good morning, Gary, Jeff, pass me the diaper cream. But first we start with a classic crazy person
steals an ambulance in Fairfax, Virginia. Some dude was in the hospital after getting arrested but released on bond. When he went down to the lobby, he saw an ambulance iling outside and stole it. He was still in his hospital gown and he still had an ivy attached to him. He initially got away but he was caught a couple days later with the ambulance parked outside of his hotel room to Bozeman, Montana, where a drunk guy was wandering the
streets at night juggling bottles that were on fire. When the police arrived, he entertained them for a while with his juggling skills before putting the bottles out, and he must have been pretty good because the cops let him off with a warning. There's a new beauty trend among women. It's called face basting. It's supposed to reduce dry skin and redness. You take diaper cream and you smear it all over your face and let it sit for a while.
It's supposedly the zinc oxide in the cream that does the magic. And finally, in Massachusetts, a woman married her alien friend while her doll children watched on Felicity Cadillac tied the knot with a life sized alien action figure while her ten doll children stood around. Then I threw out my ash trays, lighters, and matches. I did other things too, like exercising more, and it worked, but I'd still get cravings, especially on long car rides. To help me with that, I put a picture of my mother in my car. She died of lung cancer

On the phone is my friend Mike Reader from Mike's Music and the performance stage there and coming to We'll get to all of that in a moment, but there's a big event coming up when it comes to guitars. Nobody knows
more that nobody has their finger on the fret board like Mike Reader. And now he's on the telephone. Good morning, Mike, how are you hi? Gary? Thanks for having me back on this is so awesome. I appreciate it so much so you were talking about the Gibson Guitar Summit. When is this? Where will it be? It is tomorrow at the Village Theater, which is the Mike's Music location in Covington, Kentucky at six point thirty
five Main Street. The Vinnie Gibson Summit is sort of an anniversary of the Vintice Gibson Page which we started, the Vinnie Gibson Group which we started on Facebook like ten years ago, and we have, you know, twenty two thousand members. Wow. And it's a celebration and Vinnie Gibson guitars and we have guests from all over the world. The event starts. The doors are at twelve. The event starts at one and it's twenty dollars to come in
and it's an all day event. There's a roundtable discussion with Q and A for three hours with experts in the business, including Matt Collier, who's the vice president of production at Gibson. He's going to be there, Greg Martin, who is the guitar player for the Kentucky Headhunters. I'm gonna be I'm gonna be yapping. We have Pelo Morlani who is coming from Italy and Tim
Cummer who's from Cunomers and these guitars. So that'll happen for a few hours, and then we'll have a break, a short break, and then Greg mart will do a guitar clinic and then we're gonna have an open jam and everybody's gonna got up and have a good time. That sounds good prospectively. One time is the open jam there, Mike. The open jam is, you know, tentably five o'clock. You know, we're playing it loose and
we're gonna go into the evening and just have a great time. And of course they're at the Voyage Theater. We have all kinds of beverages that you can enjoy and suburban and all kind of cool things. So it's gonna be a great time. And uh, you know, it's it's open to anybody. You don't have to be part of the group. It's an all ages event. And you know, you can come for the round table and nerd out with a bunch of gifts and nerds, or you can, you know,
come for the guitar clinic or just come out of the jam. Yeah, when you said when you said the roundtable, I'm thinking Okay, this is for the guys who are really geeked up into guitars. This is but the open jam and some of the demonstrations. I think anybody, anybody that even has the slightest interest in music would appreciate that. Sure. Yeah, you know, the roundtable discussion, you know, it's it's you know, my portion of it. I'm gonna just talk about generally, you know,
general collecting and things like that. We're gonna show a bunch of cool guitars and and you know, Matt's gonna discuss rediscovering the Gibson Archives, which that were lost for a long time, and he's been digging into the history of a lot of you know, mysteries that have been lost in vintage Gibson history. So it's going to be a really interesting time. It's informational and also it's kind of show and tell at the same time. People tend to enjoy
it, whether or not they're super gifts and nerds or not. So it should be a great time all day. So starting tomorrow at noon at the Village Theater there in Covington, and that's the great performance space that Mike has and twenty bucks if you want to go the Gibson Guitar Summit Anniversary. Yeah, you know, I think we're going to open up free there at the jam, So if you want to come just the evening and hang out, you're certainly welcome to do that as well. All right, Mike, thank

Originally, Mo Egger joins in on a Saturday morning. Hey Mo, what's going on? Oh man? I got to tell you been basking in the glow of that
party last Saturday. Were you surprised that it was as good a time as it was? Not at all? Not at all? Had a blast, I mean a really good time. We noticed and someone else mentioned that, Yeah, most trying to be as far away from the Trump cutout as possible in the group picture. I didn't notice you were there on the end, just kind of casually hanging out with your stogy, but so many people wanted to meet you and We're so happy that you were there, and I really
appreciate it too. Thanks for coming. Mo Well, obviously you can tell you have a lot of people who enjoy listening to you, enjoy working, enjoy contributing to your show. And that was really cool. It's really cool to the community that you've kind of created. It's it's neat. It was neat to see so many people and have a couple of cold ones while you're out. And you've been in this business long enough to know that that doesn't
generally happen with radio shows. I mean, it doesn't usually happen that you create this little family, this little uh I don't know, this dynamic of this group that kind of hangs together and all kind of for no money, for no other reason than they just want to be a part of it. And I, you know, I'm embarrassed by it. Sometimes it's so cool.
It's really cool. It is cool. It's it's cool, and it's you're right, it's it's rare, and I think it speaks to you know, we talked about your longevity last week, but I think it's also you know, in our business, there are a lot of people that listeners can't reach out in touch and and you're sort of the antithesis of that. So
it's pretty cool. It's neat. And again I think the word I was explaining to my wife, Yeah, where I was going, and then when I came home where I came from, And I said, you know, the best way to describe it is Gary Jeff has sort of created a little
community and I'm honored to be a part of it. And even if it's a very small way, Oh no, it's it's a large part in Pat Donell and my friend who was just it's unusual to see a grown man who's you know, and he's he's married to a woman, but he's like slobbering over Mo. They couldn't believe they got to talk to Mowiger because he listens. He listens to on ESPN fifteen thirty and all that along the rest of
the week. But anyway, the NFL combine Indianapolis. How important is that for general managers and for coaches in the NFL as far as determining, you know, who they're going to select in the draft. I know they've been talking to the tight end from was it Georgia or Liam was reported brock Bowers and also talking to some defensive player or had there Yeah, chob Robins.
H what does that mean? Does the combine mean as much as maybe people give it credit for, because I remember, you know, years back, we had the John Ross sighting, you know, and the phenomenal forty time and all of that. We found out Yeah, yeah, he's fast, but he doesn't really like football. So that's that should be a test at the combine. Do you really like football or do you just have a skill set that says you could be good at football? How do you How do
you rate the importance of the combine? Well, I think there's two parts of it. You know, there's the underwear football as we call it, the track and field show, right, and and those are It's an evaluation tool that teams use and should use. It's not the only evaluation tool at the end of the day, you know, I was I was looking at a long list of wide receivers that ran like a four to two forty yeah, and John Ross was on that list, and there wasn't a whole lot
of guys that ended up being very good NFL wide receivers. So it's you know, some of the things you see I think the best way that I heard it explained this week, Daniel Jeremia of the NFL Network said, look, you know the forty yard dash, for instance, it's it's kind of good to take. You know, let's say the ten most productive wide receivers in the sport kind of average out. Okay, what did those guys runder?
The combine? And then see who's kind of in that neighborhood, right, But at the end of the day, the true evaluation tool in terms of on the field is can you play football? What'd you put on tape? And I think can you hear a lot of people in the sport talk about like, look, don't don't fall in love with with what what's not on tape when you watch him play football? And sometimes that could be some of the measurables at the combine. I think the other part of the combine
that you know doesn't play out quite as publicly or are the interviews. You know, teams get a chance to sit with prospects for fifteen minutes, and again, you know, no team should make their decision on a player based solely on those fifteen minutes, but those fifteen minutes could give you a sense of maybe does this guy like football? What kind of leader is he? What sort of intangibles is he going to bring? How hard is he going
to work? Does does he mesh with what we're trying to do philosophically? You know, you could sit down with the prospect and go, God, you know what, we were blown away by him. We want to spend more time with him. We want to bring him to our facility and get a chance to to you know, get to know him even more. And I'm sure there have been instances where in those you know, fifteen minutes, a team is maybe a little bit turned off by the prospect enough to maybe
look in another direction. I don't think anybody, any team should make a draft decisions based solely on what happens this week, But I think it just sort of begins the information gathering process, which, as we all well know, takes quite a while. Well, we knew that the Bengals are going to franchise tag T Higgins, and we're pretty confident he's going to play.
He's getting paid twenty one million dollars to do that next year. But what do you think the chances are for working out some kind of a longer term deal or do the Bengals even need to entertain that right now. Well, I think they would like to have T Higgins under a long term deal. They just don't want to pay T Higgins what he thinks he should make.
And I don't think either side is wrong here. He thinks he's probably one of the best handful of wide receivers in the sport and once the salary commensurate with that, and I'm sure the banks have a dollar figure in mind that long term they would like to get Tee to agree to. He's going to play football this year. There's no way in hell he would sit out. He's going to lose twenty one million dollars if he does. I think what's interesting about him would be this, he's a good player, but he blew
up and Jamar Chase joined the offense. And I'm willing to bet that if you talk to you know, the thirty one other general managers, that you would have a wider variety of opinions on him than you might think. You might have some guys who go, you know what, Yeah, we'd make him the highest paid wide receiver in the sport. You might have some personnel people who go, you know what, He's probably a really good number two
wide receiver. We haven't seen him flash on his own. I would counter that by saying, you know that when Jamar Chase has gotten hurt, see Higgins has really shined. But I would also say it's fair to look at the season that he had this past year. He was often not healthy.
When he was healthy, he wasn't extraordinarily productive, And so I think the fascinating thing would be to see, indeed, what sort of trade offers are the Bengals getting, and what the consensus around the league about Tea is, and assuming he hit free agency next year, which I think is a safe assumption, I think we're going to get some in into how the rest of the league views him and ultimately where he fits in and the range of wide
receivers when you talk about the highest bad guys in the sport, Well, Bengals coming the season, I had need a tight end, a solid offensive lineman, and maybe somebody to replace DJ Reader on the defense. Those are the three things that stand out to me of what is needed for the upcoming season, And you probably have more ideas than that. I don't know.
Well, I couldn't agree more with what they need. With what you just outlined, right, they're probably saying goodbye to Jonah Williams, which means they're going to need a new starting right tackle. Does that player come in the first round of the draft. Does that come in the form of a less expensive free agent. They've kind of had a revolving door at right tackle now for a while, so at some point they need some degree of stability there
tight end. Right now, they don't have any ender contract. I fully believe Tanner Hudson will be back, fully believe Drew Sample is going to be back. But you know, a tight end to such a cheat code. You look at Sam Laporta with the Detroit Lions. I mean, it's the easy one to point out. You look at Travis Kelcey with the Kansas City Chiefs. I have long wondered if you put a tight end who can create matchup nightmares for opposing defenses, what could that look like in this offense.
I think defensively, they're going to have to figure out what to do with defensive tackle and maybe that still includes DJ Reader, but regardless, they've got to be better at that position. I think the really interesting spot, and we're going to know here in about two weeks is what they do at running back? Because you know, Joe Mixon, for all of his accomplishments,
is going into his eighth season. He's due to make a three million dollar roster bonus that goes in on March seventeen, so against the salary cap, he's gonna be worth eight and a half million dollars. He's not the most explosive back there isn't tread on the tires. Did the Bengals run it back with the player who last year they asked to take a pay cut or do
they get younger and maybe more explosive at that position. And if the answer is yes, does that come simply in the form of a draft choice or does it come via a combination of a draft choice and maybe a free agent they acquire from another team. I think what they do at running back is going to be really, really interesting. Speaking the next few minutes with mo
Eger and I have this breaking news report. Mo this just broke. Apparently there are a rash of loose shopping carts in grocery store parking lots in and around Toronto because Joey Vado has not been signed by anybody yet. Yeah, you know he's having a lot of fun with this, and look, I root like hell for Joey Evado. The reality is he's a forty year old player who over his last one hundred and fifty six games has batted two oh six. Yeah, there's just not going to be a very deep market for
that type of player. It's not about what he has accomplished, It's about how can he help your team moving forward? And for as terrific a career as he's had, and I certainly think he's going to be in the Hall of Fame one day for as productive a player as he's been. I don't know how anybody could have watched him over the last couple of years and walked
away from the offseason surprise that a team has yet to reach out. I'm still holding out hope that he gets a chance to play, because I don't want to see him go out the way he went out last year, and I'd love to see him hook up with a team that has a chance to play in the postseason so he can maybe have a postseason moment. But you know, I've said this often, remove the name, Look at the numbers. Are you dying to have those numbers? And the player who put up
those numbers on your team, and overwhelmingly so. Right now, at least the answer has been no. Yeah, I think he would be wonderful. Not that he'd be happy doing this, And that's the whole thing with Joey. It's you know, he still wants to play, obviously, and he is having a good time in the interim. But I think as a as a social media or as a mainstream media personality, he would be brilliant.
I can see him doing color on baseball games for ESPN for another twenty years, and he would be probably he would probably be the voice that people would tune in to hear, you know, because he's just that interesting of a character, don't you think so? You know, he is one of the rare athletes who when he speaks, I really care about what he has to say because I've always felt like he's coming from a place of, you know,
thinking out the answer, truthfulness, honesty, transparency. And you know when he was when he was injured for part of the twenty twenty one season and he stepped into TV booth and did some games, Oh marvelous, terrific. Marrif Yeah, uh, I think if that's an And if that's something he wanted to pursue, first of all, who wouldn't want to hire him?
Secondly, I think he would be terrific at it. I think he's he's self effacing, he's funny, he's insightful, and and you know he would work at it, right And we all have heard, you know, former players jump into the booth and you know, with different degrees of success, and the ones who aren't that good, you could see him. Hear how maybe they don't prepare as much as they should. You know, if Joey took on a role like that, Uh, he would work hard at
it. And so I hope, I hope that's something he does whenever he's ready for it, which now that seems like it might have to be sooner as opposed to h till later on. Yeah, and I can see him going on a bench with Sam le Cure. That'd be really fun. Yeah. Uh, you see playing tonight as the season wine down, you got Kansas State in at fifth Third Arena, you'll be there. The Bearcats are obviously not going anywhere into the postseason, but there's what are the bright spots?
If there are any bright spots? You pick out from UC's men's basketball season this year, we well. I think what they're trying to do now is just avoid free fall, because you know, let's say they lose tonight, lose Tuesday, lose their last game against West Virginia. I think a lot of that. I think a lot of the good vibes from early in the conference schedule would be washed away, I think for the most part, and the exception I think would be against TCU last weekend. For the most
part, they stood toe to toe against good Big twelve teams. Yeah, I mean, heck, they didn't play very well. It was an ugly game against Houston. They lost by nine, which is the fewest amount of points Houston has won by at home this season. Those sort of moral victories are going to have a very short shelf life. But I think, if nothing else, if you are looking for bright spots, they have entered the Big twelve and they haven't been completely overwhelmed. They have, for the most
part, looked the part of a Big twelve team. The next step is you need a guy in your club who's an elite Big twelve player, which means you need a guy who's probably going to be an NBA player, and in this day and age, and the one hand, those guys are easy to get because of the transfer portal. On the other hand, because of
NIL that cost a lot. And so you know, as I've watched the Bearcats all season long, you know, in particular, in so many close games where you've just been looking for someone to make a play or someone to keep the other team from going on or run. You see, hasn't had that. And the next step I think in the program's evolution is you got to find that guy, whether it's somebody who emerges from the roster as is
or somebody that you get from the outside. All Right, Mo, thank you so much, and the love from lady Lynette to you as well. Mike Allen, Saturday mid day, what's going on, counselor how you doing? Brother? I'm ready to go, buddy, tell me about the show. We're going to talk about newcomers. Did you happen to hear that unfreaking believable? You mean foreign criminal trespassers? Oh no, no, that's a
little too hard. Illegal immigrants. They're newcomers. The Biden administration, as you obviously know, already put out a press release referring to illegal aliens slash criminals as newcomers to our country. It just you mean like the newcomers that beat a co ed to a pulp and leaver dead and mangled and mutilated in Athens, Georgia. You mean newcomers like the ones that are attacking police. You mean newcomers like the ones that are stabbing and raping people all over the
country. Those newcomers, I think. I think that's who I'm going to refer to and talk about this morning. That just the level of non apprehension of these people is absolutely amazing.
