This is Gary and Shannon and you're listening to kf I A M six forty, The Gary and Shannon Show on demand on the iHeartRadio Appen. Hey Gary, Hey Shannon, this is an easy, hard working long storm and down here is pork. We're busier than buzier than bees down here. Hey, uh, Gary, Man, I don't know. Some people calling up telling me you're dumb. You're not dumb. You're a smart guy. Man, Thank you the hell they thinking? And Shannon, I've been mainlining mozzarella stream
cheese the last couple of nights. Yeah, And I don't know, man, I tend to have better dreams when I have cheese before I go to bed. Yeah, true story. And you know what that is a very low calorie cheese. You've chosen HS dreams. Remember our friend who said, I'm sorry, I don't swear a lot, but how the fuck is this legal? Yes? And I think he works. Hey Gary, Shannon, that guy was cool. That guy should be our president. He's the best.
That's what we need. Somebody that's his all the time and talking. I like that guy. That guy for president. My vote. We haven't had an f at Friday for a long time. And that is apparently what's happening. We didn't even try. It's time for swamp watch. Swamp is horrible. Government doesn't work. Man, make it like a reality TV show. A bad always a pleasure to be anywhere from Washington, d C. Hey Joe, a town all too clearly built on a swamp and in so
many ways still a swamp. I have to watch a malwarkee. What he said, drained the swamp. I said, Oh, that's so he wash. You know the thing. One of the biggest bombs for Biden dropped on Wednesday with that op ed by George Clooney saying it's time to step aside. Another massive bomb dropped today in the New York Times with the big donors telling the largest pro Biden super pack that they have frozen their money ninety million in pledged donation frozen if he remains on top of the ticket. That is,
that is where it's going to come from. That's where the pressure is going to come. Not eighteen members of the House, Democratic members of the House, not even a senator who's going to come out and say it's going to be the money, because listen, money is driven or sorry, politics is driven by money. There is supposed to be a campaign rally in Michigan today for President Biden after that news conference from yesterday and mixed reviews. The bar
was very, very low, and he he covered it. He met that they. I don't think he did better than expectations. I don't think he did worse. He didn't do. The only thing age does is helping with it creates a little bit of wisdom if you pay attention. Yes, this was not a great way to start. The very first he hit about eight or nine minutes and prepared remarks and then started with this, why can't you be AOK. I wouldn't have picked Vice President Trump to be vice president,
so I think she's not qualified to be president. That would start there. That was the first thing he said. Once the teleprompter was turned off. That was the first question. And I understand that with age comes wisdom. But then step aside and be a consultant for the next Democratic president. Let them consult you, let them call you up, live your life, relax, don't have the grueling schedule that is the sitting president of the United States.
I had the thought, I mean, if everybody wanted to talk about his bona fides when it came to foreign policy, which I think he did well. I mean, and I would hope that he would do well. He's the president should yeah, he could be the secretary of State. And then I thought about, wait a minute, think of the travel schedule of the secretary of State, probably four or five times more grueling than the president, just in terms of they they have to go on a moment's notice.
How many times has Anthony Blincoln been back and forth from the Middle East in the last seven or eight months, and that just as an example. And if travel is one of the things that drags him down, admittedly he says it is, then you don't want him to do that, you know. I was wondering, continuing to wonder why they nicknamed that the Big Boy Press Conference. It wasn't something that the administration came up with. It was something
that they adopted from somebody in the media. Why would you go with that? And the only thing that I can think of is they're trying to make light of it. Yeah, and this is not a job to make light of. And this is not a moment in American history to make light of. It's very serious. I'm most amazed at the number of people who refuse to to trust their own eyes when it comes to this right and beyond any sort of feelings about politics or anything, there is a determination that we all
have have to make about who it is that's leading the country. You can like him, you can hate him. You can think he's the best president, you can think he's the worst president, you can think he's better than the alternative. Whatever you want to believe. But there is something going on here and we can't just ignore it. We can't just close our eyes and put our fingers in our ears and go, I don't see it. I
don't know what you're talking about. But Jamie Harrison is the chair of the DNC and wants to talk about a master class that was held last night at that news conference. Listen. I think he was clear, I think he was strong and really, Chris, he put on a master class in terms of complex international foreign policy tonight and listen. He is good at foreign policy. He knows the things that he's got to say. But he didn't wow me with anything. Now that does not, by definition, does not constitute
a master class. He was already a disadvantage when he ran for president the first time, because he's not a great orator. He's just not. And what happens is whatever skill set you have, it starts to dwindle a little bit. That's just hopefully we all get there. I'm just curious why you guys aren't talking about Project twenty five or Project twenty twenty five. Very interesting, very interesting. No one wants to talk about it, but there's a
lot of chatter of what's going on. Crazy? Okay, we'll do Project twenty twenty five when we come back. It's not a thing. I mean, it's a everybody wants to blow. It's this small smoldering fire that everybody's trying to blow oxygen into and throw gasoline on the fire. But it's I don't You're not just a surrogate. You're somebody who's getting text messages and emails every day to consider running. How do you handle all of that? Delete? Delete, delete, thank you, delete and rents repeat. I'm all
in no daylight. You never even engage in it privately? No, I don't, absolutely not, absolutely not. I know one thing, everything you do in private becomes public. Private thoughts, that's publicly friends, Yeah, everything you do, everything you do in private becomes public he did you see the s eating grin on his face or in that whole thing. Yes, it's awful. It's just it's so it's just conniving, like it's so backstabby.
He was asked at a news conference yesterday by the Way about George Clooney's op ed piece in the New York Times suggesting that Joe Biden not be at the top of the table governor. Following up on the national topic that was brought up yesterday, George Clooney says that that Joe Biden America saw during on the debate stage, it's the same one that he saw at the Peacock Theater. You were there at the fundraiser, and you were there at the debate.
Are you not seeing what he sees? No, well, we've been I think all of us that were at that fundraiser wondering what they were thinking is scheduling the president who just got overseas to a fundraiser late at night. And I came home very exhausted that night, and all I had to do was fly down from Sacramento to LA And I think the first comments I had to the President were like, who did your schedule? I can't couldn't even handle three hours and a red eye let alone coming from overseas. So to
me, that's those are two different things. The person I show up at that fundraiser was a human being like any of us, exhausted. But as it relates to the debate, that's a that's a whole different debate and conversation. Okay, So so hold on a second. So, yes, I did see him in diminished capacity. Yes, he seemed tired. Yes he was not coherent. Yes there were problems, but he was tired. And
that's different than what we saw at the debate. That that's that was his that was his response to us. Yeah, no pull, no poll says that. Hakeem Jeffries sent a letter to the Democrats in the House today. He said that he met with President Biden last night. It was a meeting he asked for. He says, in my conversation with President Biden, I directly express the full breadth of insight, heartfelt perspectives and conclusions about the path
forward that the Caucus has shared in our recent time together. Nowhere in this short three paragraph letter to his Democratic colleagues does he say I'm writing and dying with Joe Biden or anything anything close to that. And we mentioned this at the beginning of Swamp Watch, the ninety million dollars that is currently on hold.
One of the largest political action committee supporting President Biden has said that that ninety million dollars in fundraising money pledge donations specifically, is on hold if President Biden remains at the top of the ticket. Well, you don't want to fund something that you're not going to get the fruits of your labor. You don't want to throw you're an age money after bad Yeah, yeah, Okay,
So the Project twenty twenty five thing. Project twenty twenty five is about a nine hundred page written plan for very conservative slash Republican policies on just about every aspect of American life. Christian backing Heritage Foundation. Yeah. So there are questions people are trying to tie this to Trump, and there's a couple
of reasons why I don't think he has anything to do with it. I know there are what is it, one hundred and twenty five or one hundred and forty people who have written parts of this worked in the Trump White House or worked in the Trump administration at some point. But he has said he has no idea about it, and doesn't endorse it and doesn't agree with parts of it, but he will take those conservative religious votes. He'll gladly do that. Yes, But my point is, this is a nine hundred page
document. There is no way on this God's green earth that he is going to spend any time reading any word of a nine hundred page document, even if it were to help him in the campaign. That's not who he is. So listen. He may agree with parts of it, but this is not his thing, this is not his style. And then listen, to be frank, a lot of this stuff isn't going to go anywhere. A lot of it is way too far to the right to be appreciated or endorsed
by the vast swath of the middle of this country. He's not going to vote for banning pornography. No, he knows all the money that's in pornography. I suppose Hi, Gary hy Shannon, I'm excited for Steve Gregory's news show.
