Some of us are highly sensitive to the world around us, and according to Michael Jawer, more sensitivity is present in our times. Jawer, author of The Sensitive Soul, specializes in research on how our minds and bodies are affected by the emotions we experience. He describes what he calls an emotional type of "thin boundary" people who react more strongly to spiritual, emotional, and environmental triggers than "thick boundary" people. The flow of emotions experienced by people with a thin boundary leads to extraordinary perceptions and empathy. As we work to be conscious of our emotional experiences, we can gain more understanding of how we relate to everyone and everything we encounter.
