Episode description

Gwen and VIP guest, Ms. Trinity, explain the important Black narrative of the Windrush Generation. Gwen and Trinity break down the history of how the Windrush Generation came to be from being invited by the UK government to rebuild Britain after WWII and then subsequently displaced and vilified as Black West Indian immigrants in addition to their descendants. The parallels between DACA and ICE in the USA are also discussed as well as the challenges between the Latinx and African-American communities and the lack of solidarity between People of Color (POC) period. Gwen and Trinity have a Jamaican ass conversation about the differences between the Black experience in the USA vs UK vs Canada. We go around the world and back in this episode. Lots of hot takes!
