David

Hola, Howdy, y'all to silly speculation Saturday. Oh, oh, I hope, I hope new listeners aren't deterred by that we aren't like that that's not our, that's not us. Oh, wow. Welcome to Fun fact, Friday's silly speculation, Saturday episode,

Leila

where podcast,

David

yeah, we're our we are the, actually the only podcast in existence since 1942 we are the only podcast. Yeah, this is my understanding. Yeah.

Leila

We don't know about any other podcast. If you find one, let us know.

David

My mom like we're the only podcast that she knows about. Yeah, she doesn't. We're the only one. Hey everybody, we were. We didn't do an actual show last week. We did a no show show.

Leila

No Show.

David

Boy, appreciate everybody sticking around for this week. We do have a bit of an announcement. We

Leila

do. It's a big announcement. It's

David

a big announcement. Fun fact, Friday in its current form, will be, how do you say it sun setting soon,

Leila

it will be rebirth as

David

something new. Yes, we're gonna have a new format. It's gonna be a little less kid friendly. Yeah, we're still not gonna get raunchy or gross or anything like that or rude,

Leila

but we're gonna stop caring as much as we do about making it family friendly, right? It's like we're not Ultra censoring ourselves, that we can't talk about anything, ever political or anything like that,

David

right? We want to be able to like, call it fun fact, Friday, unencumbered, yeah, unencumbered by what has been

Leila

or do stuff like that. But we are shifting what this show is and will be,

David

right. And you may love it. You may hate it. We hate to lose you, if, if you, we do lose you during the the move over to the new format, but we, we invite you to at least give us a try for a little while. It might be a little rocky, because, you know, we've been doing this for four and a half years now.

Leila

So what are we planning on, kind of making the show, I feel like not a

David

reaction channel, no, but I do want to, like, talk about, maybe some current events that are happening and just give I would like it to be kind of like our opinions from

Leila

our two different generations, and like in our mindsets, right? We

David

are very similar in how we think, like the process of thinking, but she has raised in different worlds, exactly, completely different worlds. Back in my day, not getting I'll go into that really bad cough right now, the newer episodes, yeah, and I just lit two incense matches. So, yeah, it stinks in here. It is. Stinks in here, but it's

Leila

like, it's like, the enzyme stink. It's really good. But, yeah, we

David

invite you to stick around, or we'll be changing our art. We may actually take a couple of weeks off to get everything squared away. But I want to be able to have, like, I want to be able to have guests on and talk about things and and really maybe dig deep into some some things that are maybe a

little more adult, you know, we'll see how it goes. We may end up coming back to this format, but we feel like, since we only have two episodes left of this format, I feel like we've, I went back and looked through our transcripts, and we've, we've covered literally every fact that exists almost. We have about two episodes

Leila

worth of facts, every single thing that you could know, you know because of this podcast, like

David

when, when they're getting the the satellites ready to send all of human knowledge into space,

Leila

there's a hard drive with all of our show on it, yeah, yeah.

David

And just hope that they donate some Stan, some stats to us for, uh, for the trouble. If

Leila

they don't, I Gosh,

David

anywho this week was the last two weeks, actually, I've been kind of crazy. Leila is and won't stop for a little while. Yeah, Leila is band. They're just always doing something. It's always something the football team just kept winning, so that the season got extended and extended because playoffs and all that kind of stuff. Then we lost, and then finally they lost. So no more football game.

Leila

Kind of glad, because if we had one, we it just keeps going, like every Friday it would be eaten up for eternity, for eternity, the rest of my life, playing band for the

David

football team, football team. But yeah, it's we've been, we've been real busy, and I'm working on a few other new projects. Also, we got to get the details nailed down on that. But I'm going to be, hopefully, doing a tech channel. It's going to be video. I'm still trying to figure out what kind of video I

want to do, whether it be YouTube, self hosted. I'm leaning towards self hosted, but also posting on YouTube just for the eyeballs, but sending everybody from YouTube to the self hosted to be like, Hey, make sure you got my book, my site bookmarked, in case I say something that gives me banned. Yeah. Because that, yeah, it could happen. But yeah, so this week you. Is, what

Leila

are we doing this week? Natural remedies.

David

We had remedies. We had a boost. A little while back talking about grounding, and I've been looking into it, grounding or earthing, and I've been looking into it, and it, wow, it kind of checks out. Yeah, the I wanted to look for any studies. And what grounding or or earthing is, is when you touch the earth, like, not not a man made thing, but like the

dirt, like you go outside and touch grass. I know that's a meme, like a joke, like it's again, like an insult, but it apparently does have some positive effects on you. Apparently, I went and looked at the nih.gov and since it's a.co.gov website, it's 100% reliable. Well, in every way.com,

Leila

you never know. Well, it.gov's so

David

everything on it is 100%

Leila

the truth. Oh, yeah, absolutely. And this totally before we get started. This

David

is a silly speculation Saturday episode, so

Leila

we do get a little more speculatory speculator. Yeah, we

David

talk about some things that may not exactly be facts, but we definitely wanted to give a disclaimer. Nothing we say on this episode should be construed as medical advice. We are not doctors yet, so don't be don't take anything. Hey, I don't know. You're 14. You've got plenty of time to go doctor. I've

Leila

got less time not want to come to the medical. No,

David

oh my god. So it's so messed up. I'm so against it. So this, I live for another show, yes, for another show after the switch, after the switch over. So we, I looked into the National Library of Medicine on NIH and they have a study about the effects of grounding or earthing on inflammation, the immune response wound healing and the prevention of treatment of chronic inflammatory or autoimmune diseases. So basically that they did a study, and they had the study

participants do grounding. And the way that they did the grounding was they hooked a wire to the ground, like put a metal, metal spike in the ground, and then ran a copper wire, and then, like, taped the ends of the copper wire, copper wire to the the participants of the study, some of the wires were

placebo. They weren't connected to the ground, and in pretty much every study they did, the medical effects of your body being electrically connected through skin contact or through a wire or whatever, to the earth actually does have marginal health benefits, so I, being a scientist, decided to buy a grounding mat. That's not true, by the way. What? No, I'm a scientist. You're

Leila

a scientist. Yeah,

David

I'm not credentialed in any way. Yeah, if you follow the scientific method, then you then you can call yourself a scientist. That's so odd. So well, it's just like a professional or not, sorry, an expert. Yeah, call yourself an expert. Call yourself an expert in anything. Call yourself lots of things. You can call yourself. So this, this study on the nih.gov has there a little diagram of a sheet with cotton fibers, and it's grounded through the wall down to the

ground. And the people who slept on the sheet said that they slept better, way more than just placebo. They said that their pain, like just body pain, joint pain, stuff like that, went down. They felt less pain, just in general, when they grounded regularly. So I was like, huh, this is interesting. So, I mean, I've heard about this over the years, people saying stuff. And

I was like, it kind of kind of makes sense. So basically, there are these electrons on the surface of the earth, and then, and like, there's just an abundance of them, and there's they help us heal. They help the body, just in a myriad of different ways. I didn't I'm not going to get too deep into the science stuff of it, but it does look scientifically sound that touching the earth scientifically ground is scientifically ground. Oh my god. It's terrible. But I

thought it was funny. It's very funny. It helps, it helps with stuff. So I'm going to take this grounding mat, and what I'm going to do is I'm going to put it on the ground and I'm going to plug it, it plugs into the wall, like, into the wall socket, just to the grounding port of the wall socket. And basically you take your shoes off, take your socks off, put your feet on it, like, while you're at the computer, or while you're sleeping. You can put it like wherever the skin is going

to touch it in the bed, and it's supposed to help you sleep. It's supposed to help with inflammation and pain. It also helps healing wounds, is what they're saying. So I went and watched a YouTube video on it, and one of the one of the ladies. On it was a medical doctor. She's a general practitioner, and she said that her, her um kid, after the kid was born was always, always like screaming, like they were in

pain, right? She's always crying, except for when the doctor was barefoot, out in her lawn, carrying the

Leila

baby. Maybe that's wrong with me. You never wanted to touch ever as a child, ever wanted to touch them. Still, really don't, right? You

David

hate where you hate wearing flip flops in the yard. I do.

Leila

I need to have full shoe like, exactly, boots and

David

cats. That's what

Leila

Leila boots and cats, both of them, boots

David

and cats. And boots and cats. That's what's wrong with me. Yep, if you never touch the earth. But I was thinking about it. I'm like, I don't It's been forever since I've touched earth. Like the last time I can think was when I was digging the trench to run the electrical or the internet out here. I got down and used my hands to move some of the dirt out of the way. And I was like, that's probably the last time my skin touched the earth. And before that, I don't even remember. So I'm

gonna think I'm gonna try this. I think I'm gonna try every day, just touching the ground, either through that that mat I bought, or a grounding bracelet that used when you're repairing electronics, or actually going out and touching the actual Earth. I think I'm gonna try it for a little while and see if I notice anything else. Notice anything else. Notice anything different, I'm going to cut my leg open with a big rusty knife, and then see if, see if it heals better with the ground. Don't do

that, please. Hey, kids, don't. Don't follow my example. No, I'm not going to do that, but I do have, I do have a cut on my leg already. I'm gonna see if, see, if I notice any difference in the time it takes to heal.

Leila

One of my friends got cut by a rusty staple while opening one of the instrument cases the other day. It was what scary this

David

kid caught up on their tetanus shots,

Leila

we don't know, oh, no, that's the problem. He was like, oh,

David

tetanus is like the only one that I'll take while I go get a shot for if scary, if I do something that I feel like I need to go get one. I think, I think I'm actually due again. So if I cut myself, I'm gonna go, maybe go take care of that. Anyway, the grounding thing might be worth looking into, and it don't cost you nothing. You don't have to go buy a mat or a grounding bracelet or any fancy sheets. You can just go outside and touch grass.

Leila

We hate going outside. No, it's just really cold.

David

It's right now is very cold. We went to the football game last night. Oh my god, the wind was blowing. It was 41 degrees, and the wind was blowing like 35 miles an hour,

Leila

and we had plumes on so our heads were just we were wanting to fall over. We were gonna fall over in the cold. It was so bad. We usually walk out to do Star Spangled Banner, but we walk out before then, like 15 minutes before. So we all huddled up. But you're outside 30

David

minutes before, because we got there 30 minutes early and we walked right past y'all when you're tuning up,

Leila

we have to warm up and play through some crap outside before we go out. So it was still we were outside for like, an hour before we had to actually, like, sit down. And the wind

David

was just blowing. It was crazy, and our hats were falling off. So the other, the other thing we wanted to talk about were just, like, some, some natural remedies, yeah, and again, like, we don't know if all these work. I know that some of them do, and I'll kind of mention them as, I think of them as aloe vera for burns. Yeah, aloe vera is, like, fantastic for anything related to your skin. Oh, yeah, absolutely. But

we found a couple of sites. They're in the show notes, and they're big old lists of things naturally, your nana has an aloe vera plant. I know. Why don't we just steal her? Yeah,

Leila

come on, don't kill it. I'm so bad at taking care of succulents. They're supposed to be like, super easy to take care of, but I hate I'm terrible at

David

it. Yeah, we're not very good. My mom's the want the green thumb.

Leila

So have a Monstera that I've kept alive for about a year now, and I'm very happy about that.

David

Why? One of the ones that I know is a bee sting.

Leila

I'm on the same one.

David

Oh yeah, the bee sting. Yeah. I like the bee sting. One you apply i If you get stung by a bee, apply ice to it. And it says, remove the stinger and apply ice. Now, to remove the Stinger, one of the best ways to do that, and this is from personal experience, is it, uh, get a hold of some tobacco and put the tobacco on it, and the tobacco will cause the stinger

to back out of your skin. I had that happen one time when we lived in Texas, I got stung, and my dad, uh, had some pipe tobacco, and he just put a big wad of it on the stinger and just pushed it on there, and the stinger like backed its way out. So he'd get it and yanked it the rest of the way out, and then you put baking soda on it. You just make a little mixture of baking soda and water like a paste, and put it on the sore area, and it'll dry. And yeah, but it

Leila

also says meat tenderizer, yeah, Baking soda

David

is meat tenderizer, yeah. When I

Leila

saw this first, I thought of that big hammer with the spikes on. I was like, problem, bee sting. Try meat tenderizer. Like,

David

what do you mean? That's fantastic.

Leila

I saw this, like, right as you were saying, beasting. And I was like, Huh? Like, I was terrified. I'm not gonna hit myself with a hammer because I got stung by a bee. Oh

David

no, look at number eight on the one we're on.

Leila

Oh my gosh. I saw that while I was researching. So,

David

all right. Problem diarrhea, try cooking, cooking water, Cooking Mama, so, gosh, I boil brown rice and oatmeal in twice the amount of water that you normally use and then strain when the water is cool, drink it the water contains electrolytes. It's what plants grave that are often lost when you have diarrhea. So replacing the electrolytes can be a problem. One of the things about super healthy and cutting out all the salt in your diet is sometimes you miss out on

Leila

electrolytes. You know what really gets my

David

goat? What really gets your go

Leila

the word diarrhea. You want to know why cha? Cha, cha. How do you spell it? How do you spell diarrhea?

David

DIA, A, D, I, A, R, R, H, isn't there? Oh, in there somewhere? Though, diarrhea?

Leila

No, yeah, but like, I've heard it with an O, diarrhea. People

David

saying stuff wrong, just like photographer, not photographer. So

Leila

many people say library in the last couple months,

David

library is a commonly misspoken, misspoken word. That's a that's I eat in

Leila

the library. I eat lunch in the library. And, like some people say library, like, What

David

do you mean? You know why she eats lunch in the library? Because

Leila

I'm gonna lose or can't eat lunch with the cafeteria.

David

They kicked me out. No, it's because you were walking past the library, the library one time and saw some people playing Nintendo Switch in there.

Leila

Yes, it's so fun. Look. And I know the people playing the switch, so I didn't care. I walked in there and I was like, What are y'all doing? And they're like, we spend lunch in here. And I'm like, That's dope. Yeah, yeah. We

David

used to. I used to sit outside at lunch. So, yeah, I didn't like cafeteria. It was too much going on. There's too much going on in the cafeteria. Oh my gosh. So let's go with some more tiny Let's go. Why don't you read a few problems and solutions, hives,

Leila

oatmeal bath. Now, I found another one for hives. Is witch hazel. I've had highs before, and just put witch hazel on everything. And it's just amazing. It works like a charm, yeah. But if you

David

don't have any witch hazel and you do have some oatmeal

Leila

exactly, put it in put it in the bath, put it in the bath. I've

David

done the baths of a couple of different things for different conditions I've had. I know that this one sounds weird, but I did a extremely hot bath, like, my skin was like red when I got out, because it was so hot, but it was extremely hot bath. And I put, Oh, what did I put in? I put a lot of salt, of some salt and garlic. And I know that sounds weird, and I can't

remember what other plant. I put some other plant in there, but it was all stuff that was supposed to ward off infection, because I had a skin infection from a sword that had gotten infected, and I just took a super hot bath with lots and lots and lots of ground up garlic in it, and it smelled delicious. I No, it worked, though it I smoked like garlic for like, two or three days afterwards. I would not, I know, but it took care. It knocked the infection right out. So it was some good

stuff, all right. So what else you got?

Leila

Um, I have, oh, baking soda for bee stings. That's on another list. So it's totally right. It's on two different

David

sources, on two different sources that probably copied each

Leila

other. A couple of these. I feel like it wouldn't work, but I bet it does, like lemon on burns. I feel like that would just hurt. That

David

would hurt so bad, but it might work. Probably does. It's probably

Leila

like, anti infection. So what does it

David

say about it? Does it as an paragraph, or is it just it?

Leila

Is it just Oh? It says this juice from the lemon will stop the burning sensation. However it, once it's removed, the burn will return. So it's just like water. Just put water on. Oh,

David

no, never water. Never water. What? No, not water on a burn. No. What do you mean? Don't like it. So what do you do if you have a cough and no medicine? Live with it. Deal with it. Honey.

Leila

No, I hate honey.

David

I know, but it's medicine. I. But so there is a take the medicine, a Cough Remedy. And I've, I've done this one before, and it actually doesn't taste too bad. The cough is, it's apple cider vinegar, cayenne pepper and cinnamon. You mix two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in into eight ounces of hot water, add a sprinkle of cayenne and a dash of cinnamon, and then one tablespoon of honey, and stir. I'd

Leila

rather just get some NyQuil at that point.

David

I don't know who this is quoting, but it's a quote, and it says, I'm a singer, and this saved my voice. No name attached to it, just I'm a singer. I'm an expert. Oh, my gosh. Speaking of singing, oh, if anybody who's listening to this is a musician and wants to collaborate with Leila on our new theme song, especially if you can like drum When don't you, aren't you in a band with drummers? Yeah. Would any of them be interested in laying down a drum line? That's what that's called,

Leila

drum beat, yeah? A drum sick beat,

David

a sick beat. Lay down a sick beat, sick beat. Drum

Leila

Line is the word for just yeah, the different drums, yep, I

David

get it group. I knew it was wrong. I was like, as soon as it came out, that was wrong. Yeah?

Leila

So garlic for ear aches, yeah, earrings are an

David

infection. So, yeah, garlic knocks out infection. That's why, go ahead.

Leila

It's just those ear aches. So I wonder if it's just, it means ear infections. It's just want to say that, well, an

David

earache is typically an infection. Yeah, yep, take the garlic. You put the garlic in your ears.

Leila

Garlic in your ears.

David

Well, garlic is, is a natural infection fighter, as is silver, yeah, the all of the things that kill vampires, except for the stake through the heart, fight infection,

Leila

yeah. You heat a tablespoon of olive oil just to about in body temperature. So you can just hold the olive oil if you want, transfer it to a small bowl and add crushed garlic, let it rest, and then put it in a cotton ball, put in your ear. 40 minutes. I ain't doing all that. I'm not doing. I'll tell

David

you I've had some really bad ear infections, and if it'll knock it out. That's true. I would. I had one get so bad one time it was it was unbearable me too. They actually I had to go to the ER because they were afraid that the infection had gotten into my skull, ooh, and was going to cause some major problems. That's when I had the $900 ear drops. Okay, so here's the story. One second.

Leila

Whoa, yeah, I had a rare on my birthday last year. Yeah, last year I

David

went to the hospital because I had this ear ache, right? And I'm like, hey, hey, Doc, I got an earache. And she went to look into the thing with a little pokey like scope, where she can look inside the ear, and it hurts so bad she couldn't even get the the Poke scope in there anyway. She's like, Here, take these, these ear drops. These are the best ear drops on the planet. I was like, Okay, it's the middle of the night, so my pharmacy is not open. Does the hospital have a pharmacy

now? She's like, Yeah, it's a little more expensive. It's like, I've got insurance. So we go and it's $800 and it's not covered by insurance. So yes, hold on. So I get this bottle at eardrops. It's a seven day or 14 day, little, tiny bottle at your drops, and I take it home, and I'm looking at I'm like, why does this look familiar? I've seen this bottle before. So I go to our medicine drawer, and I open up our medicine drawer, and I pull out the little and I've got another bottle of this

stuff, right? I got it from the veterinarian when our dog had an ear infection, and it was $35 at the veterinarian, $35 for the same exact medication, same dosage, same everything. I

Leila

don't like the word veterinarian, veterinarian like I've been saying veteran, veteran, veterinian. No. How have I been saying it veterinarian? I just say veterinarian. I skipped the second e

David

proper pronunciation. I bet it's veteran. Why don't you look that up while I while I talk about, if you have a fever, you should use mint. Just chew on a leaf from a mint plant, just two on some grass. If you've got some mint leaves laying around, which my mother does, she Oh, yeah. She's always

got some. She likes to walk outside leaves. Yeah, when she walks outside, in her backyard, there's a mint plant, like, right on the edge of her patio, and she'll reach over and just rub her fingers on it and smell them like I like the mint smell. Veterinarian, just put your mic up to your speaker. Veterinarian, veteran, thank

Leila

you for that pronunciation book, YouTube. I may say anyway. I, I don't think there's, there's not grammar police. I've realized that, like, no one's gonna get on to you if you say something wrong, except for me, I'm the I'm the police. You just

David

haven't run across any there's a bunch of grammar Nazis out there. Yeah. Okay, so high blood sugar. This is the problem. It says to try Berberine. This Berberine B, E R, B, E R, I N, E says this herb plus chromium, the browser that Chrome is based upon open source version of Chrome. It says, plus chromium and individual supplements, or together in one, help reduce blood sugar in pre diabetic patients on a diet low

in refined sugar and high in complex carbs. Huh? Cinnamon also lowers blood sugar, as does Cactus.

Leila

Cactus. Oh, yeah, we have those cactus pills for a while. Yep. Cactus

David

pills. You can get, you can just buy cactus. You can go to the there's a the Mexican food store down the street. They have cactus sometimes, because it's used in a lot of their dishes.

Leila

Apple cider vinegar for ringworm, yes, because anti fungal.

David

Do you know what Apple Cider Vinegar is? Also good for anti fungal mixing with Serrano peppers to make it delicious,

Leila

delicious hot sauce. Absolutely I agree with that. I

David

made a jar. Oh my god, oh

Leila

my gosh. Did I have some of that you

David

did? I was very stingy with it because I didn't make a lot, because I wanted to see how it was before. Yeah, it's kind of pricey. I mean, it's not that bad, but Serrano peppers are pretty it's the fact that you cut off so much of the serrano before you make it, and then you have to use like so much Serrano so weight gain, green tea can help.

Leila

Oh, yeah, I've, I've seen that one before, and it says,

David

in conjunction with eating a nutritious diet and exercising, oh my gosh,

Leila

hey guys, did you know that if you paint your nails pink, it'll help with you losing weight, as long as you're eating healthily and you exercise,

David

as long as you're exercising a lot and also eating healthy, having a pen behind your ear will help you lose weight, yeah,

Leila

actually, a balance thing.

David

Oh, wow, yeah. I love, I love when they do. It's like when in the in the matrix, they had the humans in the movie The Matrix, they had the humans all hooked up to be batteries, because they generated heat, and then they were, like, in conjunction with a nuclear reactor. I'm like, Okay, so you've got, that's like having a spaceship, right? But then you've got like a pole on the bottom of the spaceship, and there's like a a an eighth grader pushing up to help the

rocket get off the ground. That kid ain't doing nothing. The heat that the human body produces, even millions of them, is nothing compared to a nuclear reactor, exactly in the in the original story, or the original plot at the matrix, the humans were part of a neural network, so the brains were being being used as computer processors, which makes much more sense than us being used as batteries. But the people at Warner Brothers were like, people don't understand all that tech mumbo

jumbo. Let's just say that they're batteries. Oh my gosh, because our audience is stupid, because we make movies for stupid people. Guarantee that's been said in the boardroom. I bet. Guarantee it. Oh

Leila

my gosh. So tea tree oil is good for a lot of stuff like, uh, acne, mild acne. It's good for anything's good for acne. Come

David

on, man, teacher, oil is good for your scalp also, oh yeah, especially if you're bold how, however, smells pretty good. Tea Tree Oil can cause some problems in men, such as gynomastia, so you can't use it a lot, but just for like, temporary things, it'll be okay. Ginkgo biloba and ginseng and turmeric are just all good for you. I know ginkgo biloba one of

the oldest tree species. Ginkgo is one of the oldest homeopathic plants and a key herb in Chinese medicine, the leaves are used to create capsules, tablets, extracts, and when dried, can be consumed in tea. I've had ginkgo biloba and tea. That's cool. Yep, it's good for it doesn't really have too much of a taste cognitive impairment and dementia, cardiovascular disease, cardiovascular risk factor. Dollars tonight.

Psychological disorders, tinnitus, vertigo, it's, it's just an all around like, helps your body, yeah, Cough, Cough, Cough, cough, I ate a bunch of popcorn, and I think some of it's like, no,

Leila

I've just had this thing in my throat. I think it's like, seasonal, because it comes like, every, yeah,

David

that's one of those things when the weather changes. Yeah. So I used to drink these different teas, like Sobe green tea, like gingko baloba, with gingko biloba and ginseng in them before so be sold to whoever they sold to and just became just another sugary drink. Grape seed extract is good for inflammation, as is grounding. Lavender is supposed to be really good. I can't stand the smell of it, though. Oh, but yeah, all of this, we started looking to all this stuff

because of the grounding thing. And I'm very interested to see how, to see if I actually have any noticeable effects that aren't that I'm not just going to chalk up to being placebo, yeah, from this grounding thing.

Leila

So lavender is a weird thing for me, because I love the smell of lavender. I touch up with, like, a warning before I smell it, for some reason sharp. It's very sharp. It like stops you, yes, because one of my friends gave me some hand sanitizer that had lavender in it, and I put it on because it's hand satiser. And we were going somewhere, and I smell my hands because it smelled pretty good. And I was like,

Unknown

now she didn't tell me what,

Leila

what scent it was. And she was like, are you okay? It's like, yeah, it's

David

lavender. Stan me in the face. She was like, yeah,

Leila

what's wrong? Well,

David

if you get cut by lavender smell, you can put some coconut oil on it, some wood eggs on it, some coconut coconut oil is good for everything. Oh, yeah, absolutely. It's just one of those things that, like you can cook with it. It's good for your skin, good for your lips, it's good for your lips. It's just a all around good product to have a jar of around the house. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's good for your hair, too. And it's a really good natural alternative to using other oils to cook in

Leila

alternative medicine. Oh my gosh. The when you brought up this episode to me, you know that character from the amazing mortal Gumball, Mr. Smalls.

David

I'm aware of Mr. Smalls.

Leila

He him saying alternative medicine just popped into my head because he, he's like, a hippie, right? But every, like, every episode, he comes in and just like alternative medicine. So like, Hold on

David

while you look it up, I'm gonna talk about honey. You were talking about, you don't like honey earlier, but local honey is so good for your allergies because, yeah, I mean, think about the bees get the pollen from the local plants, and then they produce honey, and it ends up just teaching your immune system how to deal with the local allergens. Kind of, it's almost like a vaccine, but like a natural one, without all the vaccine stuff and baggage around that word, the eating. And you

want it to be as local as possible. So like, that's why we buy our honey from that, that thing of the fair over here, local bee Growers Association, or whatever

Leila

it is. Wait,

David

do you want to hook up the Bluetooth? Or here,

Leila

I'll just send this to you. I'll put it in the collective.

David

Okay, put it in the collective. I'm not gonna, I'm

Leila

not gonna watch it before, because it's gumball. How

David

many seconds is it 30? What's the timestamp

Leila

I would go to? Hold on

David

producing. The show live, 15

Leila

seconds, maybe

David

15 seconds. I don't know how loud this is gonna be. Might be a little loud. Let me turn it down. Okay.

Leila

What if we try something a little more off the chart? Okay. Here

Unknown

we go. No, please. No. Stan.

David

Oh, that's just like The Matrix.

Unknown

Did someone say alternative medicine

Leila

flying in with this like robot, the

David

him flying scene was a direct rip off of the matrix. One of the matrix movies I've only you've only ever seen the first one. Yeah, the The rest are not as good as the first one, but I think number two and number three are still worth watching. Number four is not worth watching. It is a it felt like a fan fiction written by a middle aged mom is what it felt like. Nothing against middle aged moms. Nothing at all, but

All right, so this is a value podcast. Even after we change up how we're going to do stuff, we are definitely still going to be value for value. Value for value means we put the show out for free. We make the show we put the show out. We don't have any advertisements. And I mean, hopefully we, hey, we, you know what, we have talked about ads, and we have a price. We will do a 32nd ad that we write the copy for, right? For $1 million Yep,

and it will be on one episode. So if you've got a million dollars and want us to read something for 30

Leila

seconds higher, you know, we can go higher than a million? Yes, yes, yes, a million

David

is the minimum minimum. Yeah, we will add 15 seconds per million dollars that you, that you add, yeah, of course. So there's there's our price, but until then, we're value for value, which means we put the show out for free. If you find value in the show, if you are excited that we have a full episode this week instead of a two minute episode, if you're excited that we're changing up our format and just want to see what that's all about,

Leila

I feel like you'll enjoy it. I

David

think you'll enjoy it.

Leila

I feel like you'll enjoy it too. If

David

you like us as much as you like our facts, I think that you'll enjoy it. Yeah, it's

Leila

gonna be more like a stream of consciousness, yeah,

David

more of us and less of us trying to find facts to tell people, yeah, the value that we give you, we can't tell you how valuable we are. Yeah, we may be worth a penny an episode. If that's true, you owe us $2.08 please. If, if our show is worth $20 an episode to you, there you go. Shoot it over to us. You can go to funfacfridicom, click the donations link and send us some money. Many, many, many different ways to send money.

One of our favorite ways is to receive Satoshis. That is the smallest available bit of Bitcoin, smallest available unit of Bitcoin currently. And you can send that to us through fountain.fm, or curio caster, or there's a bunch of different new podcast apps over on podcast apps.com that you can use this amazing technology to send us Satoshis. We received one boost this week. In the last couple of weeks, we've received a lot of

streaming Satoshis. Oh yeah, we definitely want to thank the people who listen to the show streaming, and then they're sending us money every minute they listen. Yes, we received one boost. Are you? You want to read it?

Leila

Sure? Oh, no. Anyway, yeah, we got 1996 did I read that right? Yep, from Kevin hallacy, rhymes with fallacy for the birds episode, our last episode, that was an actual episode, and it's 1996 because bio dome slash Polly shore boost never saw it, but would do well to visit the Fun Fact Friday or SSS show. So the speculation, yes, I'm bad at reading today for some reason. He's probably a lot of fun now.

David

Yes, okay, so BioDome. Here goes. I'm going to relate the entire plot to you. A couple of guys go to a BioDome. One of them's probably Sure. One of them is polysure. They go to, they go to a BioDome. They think it's a mall. They have to use the restroom because they drank some really big sodas from the gas station. They go inside, they sneak inside the biodome, right as they're about to close the doors for one year, and then they get locked into the biodome and they're stuck there for a

year. Well, these guys are not scientists, let me tell you. Hilarity ensues. It's a very fun movie. It's one of my favorites of all time. I don't know how good of a movie it is on a scale of like actual, objectively good. Let me look at rod tomatoes. It hit, it hit my life at just the right time, and it was goofy, and it was fun. And I've always been a big fan of Polly shore. I bet he is probably a lot of fun now. Any who thank you for the 1996 that's the year that the biodome

movie came out. We definitely appreciate that. Oh my gosh. You can also return your value in other ways, such as art ideas for new logos. We're probably still going to be called Fun Fact Friday, but we're going to make sure that the logo reflects that we're not as much of a kids show anymore, yeah, and all that. So

Leila

you want to know what the rating on Rotten Tomatoes?

David

I do want to know four, four.

Unknown

It's four.

David

Kylie Mino in it. It's got,

Leila

hell is it, it's got four out of 100 on the tomato meter. That's so funny. Oh,

David

my God. I love bio dome. It's not a good movie. That's probably why it has a four. It's probably not. It's not, but it's got a solid like

Leila

score or a popcorn meter of 51 Okay, I

David

gotta do a deep dive on bio dome, because this thing, it's oh, we're Episode 209, not 208, the top

Leila

critics, 0% and of all critics, it's 4% only one person rated it as fresh instead of rotten. Okay, you

David

know what? So silly Polly, Mr. Shore, whatever you prefer to be called these days, the weasel. I. Um, we love you. We love BioDome.

Leila

Yeah,

David

we want you to come on the show, not because we want to steal clout and use your name. You don't have to use your name on our show. You could be whoever you want to be, yeah, but we want to talk to you as a person. I want to ask you some questions about the 90s and what it was like being holy shore in the 90s. Yeah. There we go. There's our sound bite. We can clip that and, uh, posted on X, Oh, yeah. He'll be like, Oh,

that guy's got a nice voice. Maybe I will go on a show. And I guess he talks at all.

Leila

I don't want to like what I don't want to, like make my impression of him. Well, I don't know how. I don't know how to, how to, how to impersonate people.

David

Oh, I'll teach you. I'll teach anyway. I think that's it for our episode. We're 10 minutes over this week, but we didn't have an episode last week, so come out in the wash. Yeah. So everybody have a great day. If you have any ideas for where you would like to see the show go direction wise. Let us know

Leila

we're planning on making this change after the 110 the 200 Yeah,

David

so probably 211 Episode 211 might be our changeover episode, and there might be a couple of weeks between 210 and 211 Yeah, it's Christmas time. We got a lot going on, but we will have some time at home where she will be at home, and we can brainstorm ideas. We can come up with new art, we can come up with new music and all that stuff. So, yeah, so this will be your little Christmas surprise, and let us know if you have any ideas of what you'd like to hear from us. We might

ignore them, but we may use them. So that's, that's just how that's the nature of the industry. You know, we're very industry focused.

Leila

People, totally, absolutely.

David

Bye, everybody. Bye. I

Leila

was trying to make sure we

David

didn't miss anything on the list. Totally.

Kyle Hebert

That's why our hand was over the record button. Fun fact, Friday with Leila and David is a we've missed him before production. All Rights Reserved, unless otherwise stated. If you'd like to help some you can make a donation via or PayPal overnight. Fun factfriday.com just click the donation. Please follow, like and subscribe and join us next week for another Fun Fact Friday.

Leila

Oh, random fact. Steve Jobs was a producer on the Toy Story movie.

David

Oh, there's a whole story behind that. I.
