Found on Reddit, 2 helicopters chased a metallic orb near my town. So this happened back in the late 90s and it still creeps me out. It was around 9:00 AM and I was sitting on my porch when I heard 2 military helicopters flying really low. At first I thought it was just a training exercise, but then I noticed what they were chasing right in front of them was this metallic orb, maybe the size of a small car.
It was totally silent. No wings, no propellers, just a smooth silver ball reflecting the lights from the choppers. The weirdest part? It moved like nothing I've ever seen. It zipped around effortlessly, making sharp turns without slowing down. The helicopters kept trying to cut it off, but suddenly the orb shot straight up into the sky at insane speed and was gone in seconds. The choppers circled around for a bit, then eventually flew off in the opposite direction.
The next day, everyone in town was talking about the strange lights from the night before. No official explanation, of course. I'll never forget the sound of those helicopters and the sight of that orb. Whatever it was, it wasn't something we've made.
