Episode description

Direct indexing - where an investor builds a personalised index which is then tracked by a fund or portfolio - has been growing in the US for a couple of years, with fund houses like Vanguard and BlackRock investing heavily into it. Now Fundment has launched the first such offering in the UK.

FTAdviser deputy editor Damian Fantato is joined by Jonathan Warren, head of innovation at Altus, and Mike Barrett, consulting director at the Lang Cat, to discuss whether this is the start of direct indexing's widespread adoption in the UK.

They discuss some of the pros and cons of direct indexing, how it is likely to be distributed and whether it suits some investors more than others.

The FTAdviser Podcast is the podcast for financial advisers, brought to you by FTAdviser. Each week, FTAdviser is joined by guests fro the industry to discuss the week in news and pressing industry issues.
