Episode description

90 Years of age, Vic Gough was witness to an era like no other. In 1945 Vic talks about the time he and his Father, Bill transported their horses to a Campdraft via train as there was no other method of transport at this time. Loading from Bowen and travelling to Proserpine to compete, later discovering when it was time to go home, they were no longer allowed to transport the horses back to Bowen via the train. So, they saddled up and rode the 80 miles back in the dark following nothing but the lights from the stars. Titled by the greats as Australia's greatest all round horseman, Scott talks with Vic Gough. The man that competed in every arena from Campdrafting, Show Jumping and Rodeoing. We hear about the titles, the starts, the competitors, the horses and the challenges. Join Scott Keogh for this episode as we experience an era through the eyes of the man that was witness to it all. An era that was the start of today, a past that few can tell like Vic. ** Light Language Warning ** Presenter: Scott Keogh Episode Brought to you by: Scott Keogh Horsemanship
