Episode description

TRIGGER WARNING: This episode contains descriptions of violence against women.

On Feb 18th of this year, a 67-year-old nurse named Leela laid out her pajamas and jewelry at home before heading to work, expecting it to be another day of help and healing. However, she would be confronted with a Baker Act patient at work in a West Palm, FL hospital who would beat her into an unrecognizable state. Her daughter joins our host, Lindsey, to talk about the incident, raise awareness on violence against healthcare workers, and talk about the shortage of security in hospitals. This is not a new topic, and that's why it needs attention.

Please take care while listening, and if you have any information about incidents at HCA Florida Palms West Hospital, please email [email protected] , as it could be SO helpful as they build their case.

If you're willing and able, here is the go fund me for Leela: https://www.gofundme.com/f/stand-with-leela
