Guided by the Spirit | March 28, 2020

As promised, due to the COVID-19 epidemic, we have begun sharing our daily Mass preaching from our House of Studies in St. Louis, MO. For the daily readings to accompany these preachings see the USCCB.

This morning we celebrated the Mass of the Holy Spirit as we prepare for a priorial election, where we will elect our new prior (house superior). Fr. DePorres Durham, O.P., preaches, reminding us to that it is the Holy Spirit which guides and directs us. Our role is to cooperate with that Spirit and to be open to the promptings of that Spirit. 

Fr. DePorres calls to mind Pope Francis's Urbi et Orbi blessing from March 27. The Holy Father reminded us all, he said, that we are all of us in this world together, one Body of Christ. It is only together and trusting in the Spirit which Christ himself has given us, that we can persevere in God's Will.
