There's something about the way comedians see the world that is a bit tilted, like a picture hanging that's not quite aligned. It's the necessary gift David brings to his craft, but it sometimes leads him to push social boundaries as he did with a couple of innocent grocery store clerks. By the way, when this way of seeing gets unleashed on the gospels, we might actually see Jesus more accurately than scholars portray him.
