At the outset, Dr Dave made it clear that he refused to be pinned down with the binary (YES or NO) question: do you have a cold? How fun to live in an age of limitless, self-constructed meaning-making! Of course, we should all engage in a bit of research that will help us make good judgements. Was David's joke funny?
