Bonjour à tous! Hi everyone! Welcome back to the French Made Easy Podcast! Thanks for joining me here! This is episode number 53, numero 53!

Before we start, I’ve got some news! My 6-week pronunciation course for complete beginners, called French Pronunciation Made Easy, is now open (as of today Tuesday, April 13) which is the date this episode is going live. The doors will close on Saturday, April 17. And that’s because I give personal feedback to each student, so I have to limit the number of students enrolled in the course. If you’re interested, you’ll find all the information for the French Pronunciation Made Easy course on the sales page. I’ll link to it in the episode’s notes. And if you have any questions, you can just email me or DM me on Instagram.

Alright. Let’s go back to our episode.

In this lesson, we're doing a bit of conjugation! The last time we've talked conjugation, you've learned the verb "manger" (to eat), so it's only fair that today you'll learn the verb "boire" (to drink.) in the present tense. You'll also learn a few drinks, "quelques boissons."

So, I'll first share the verb conjugation; then, I'll give you some examples.

As usual, make sure you download your lesson's cheat sheet; it's free.

After the lesson, it's time to practice! Head over to the French Made Easy Library, where you can download your lesson's exercises.

Vous êtes prêts? Are you guys ready? On y va.

Let's dive straight into the conjugation of the verb "boire."

Répétez après moi (repeat after me.)

je bois (I drink / I'm drinking)tu bois (you drink)il boit (he drinks)elle boit (she drinks)on boit (we drink - informal)nous buvons (we drink - formal) Attention here, common mistake, it's not "nous boivons", it's "nous buvons."vous buvez (you drink). The same goes here, it's not "vous boivez", it doesn't sound right, it's "vous buvez."ils boivent (they drink - masculine)elles boivent (they drink - feminine)

Ok, parfait.

Now let's see some examples of the French verb "boire" conjugated in the present tense.

Je bois de l'eau. (I'm drinking water.)Tu bois du thé? (Are you drinking tea?)Il boit un café. (He's drinking a coffee.)Elle boit un café. (She is drinking a coffee.)On boit du jus de fruit. (We are drinking fruit juice.)Nous buvons de la bière. (We are drinking beer.)Vous buvez du vin rouge? (Are you drinking red wine?)Ils boivent du vin blanc. (They are drinking white wine - masculine.)Elles boivent du vin blanc. (They are drinking white wine - feminine.)

Et voilà! That's it for the examples with the verb “boire.”
