Today, we’re learning 15 common French words where the final letter is not pronounced, where it is silent.

So today, I’ll give you a list of 15 words, with their English translation.
petit (small) → /pəti/ grand (big, tall) → /ɡrɑ̃/ blanc (white) → /blɑ̃/ froid (cold) → /frwa/ chaud (hot) → /ʃo/ nez (nose) → /ne/ vous (you – formal/plural) → /vu/ trop (too much) → /tro/ temps (time, weather) → /tɑ̃/ beaucoup (a lot) → /boku/ lait (milk) → /lɛ/ prix (price) → /pri/ gentil (kind) → /ʒɑ̃ti/ long (long) → /lɔ̃/ jamais (never) → /ʒamɛ/In all of those words, the final letter is silent.
