Episode description

Aleister Crowley was an English occultist, ceremonial magician, poet, philosopher, political theorist, novelist, mountaineer, and painter. He founded the religion of Thelema, identifying himself as the prophet entrusted with guiding humanity into the Æon of Horus in the early 20th century. Most know of him from his occult celebrity built on the premise, "Do What Thou Will Is The Whole of The Law" but what about his other "secret" life as an agent for the British government?

Follow Joel as he explores the connections of Aleister Crowley's early beginnings at Trinity College in Cambridge, where he was seemingly recruited to live the life of an agent provocateur. Joel peers into Crowley's infatuation with secret societies and his membership in the Golden Dawn, setting up his infiltration of the Carlist movement. Finally, he looks at Aleister's brief time in Mexico, where he expanded his magickal abilities and lived a life under the alias of Isidor Achille O’Rourke.
