Episode description

In mathematics and computer science, an algorithm is a finite sequence of mathematically rigorous instructions, typically used to solve a class of specific problems or to perform a computation. Most people understand them to be a process that drives media, specifically social media, by connecting people’s likes, wants and desires in entertainment.

Joel breaks down the complex ideas of what algorithms do from Alan Turing’s Turing Machine and Turing Test, the difference between narrow and general artificial intelligence and AI’s ability to replace humans. He then goes into the industries that artificial intelligence is set to take over, from the military industrial complex to all forms of media.
