When Mary Runs to You

In this homily for the Solemnity of the Assumption, we reflect on Mary’s haste to bring Jesus to Elizabeth and how she still comes quickly to us in our moments of need. Drawing from the Gospel, the vision in Revelation, and a powerful story from A Song for Nagasaki, we see Mary as the Mother who runs to those who are sick, suffering, or dying—bringing peace instead of fear. We also hear Msgr. Stephen Rossetti’s reminder that when Mary is near, Jesus is near. This is a call to turn to her in our struggles and to imitate her urgency in bringing Christ’s love to others.
