A maybe not actually true cultural history podcast where we take a look at little microbursts of culture that burned hot and then vanished. Sometimes they left brilliant little legacies. Sometimes they left nothing. We’re gonna talk about both. This first season is called the Freaks in the Barn, and we’re talking about the glam psychedelic explosion of Sioux City, Iowa, in the early 1970s.
