Just want the wacond just just want the whackon. Dude, Guy, smuck guy, Jesus smug guy. Dude, Dude, that show was fire recording. By the way, oh shit, got my next album coming on? The guy was fire. Is I don't like That's why I like Disney Plus.

I was gonna ask it must be is I wonder if it falls under because I thought there was some weird thing going on with like shut movies that were on Disney Channel but like ABC or like someone else's channel original movie but not Disney right, Like there was a bunch of those something like I don't know if my day with the presidents not that model behavior, Like I think model behavior is not on Disney Plus. That's homophobic, it's pride mind Okay,

I want to be justin timber Lake. I double iconic. Wow, you just went to like a really far my brain. Yeah do you ever Susie Q? That almost kind of freaky? Um wait, refresh my memory was that with It's like she dies in a car accident, but then like her ghost is haunting like the kid and he has to like guide her back lightweight, Lightweight. I was thinking, I'm thinking of Quint's remember the Girl with the fucking five Yeah, babies probably different but yeah, same era,

different movie, double team. Oh my god, Yes, I love the scene and like the end when they're like eating that disgusting, gross like meal and they have like the rich girl with them. I always wanted to eat that because, like Nasty, it's like a lot part New Year's Eve and they're like, yeah, eat it. It's like a billy cheese dog. Stupid, What are you a rich bitch? I never had this, stupid.

I don't remember that part. I like barely remember that movie. I just remember they like play basketball and it was based on a true story. Yeah about the frankiebas One. That one always make me sad. That's like miracle, Yeah, a miracle on Cancer Street. I'm just kidding. Didn't I didn't. I didn't see it, But didn't you have kids? Did? It was something sad? Traumatic, like the doesn't Originals needs to be Hella sad? Actually that's fucking Disney for you, or frightening. Don't look

under the bed. God, I got nightmares when he turns into the models green nasty. I did not look under my bed for months. What was it like? Not racist one? But remember the white girl that has the one black friend. Oh my god, She's like, I just learned not to be racist. The color of friendship, friendship there is in the name? Yeah what color? What color? Hey? It was bringing up South African and South Africa and apartheid and segregation. It was tying into American segregation.

And you know that was a beautiful lesson. How's a good one? Man? That was a good one, That's all. I don't really remember anything from that movie, but I do remember loving it. Say remember wanting to march on her dad didn't want her to, and then he buys her like shoes or she buys him shoes. Yeah, actually maybe that was another movie. It's It's Giving White Savior. I felt for it. I loved

it. I don't, I don't. I really don't remember it, but I feel like, yeah, I feel like if I watching Nell's probably so Harride. Maybe it's great, just like okay, just like freedom writers. Remember that right with that girl like you really? You really? You that shit? And I'm like, oh shit, was that the one that was like a remake of um the one with the girlfriend scarface? I've never seen scarface were No, it's gonna bother me. It's gonna bother me, Michelle

Peiffer. No, Freedom Writers, it's like based on No I know, but I think they the original one of Freedom Writers is this movie. I think it was like based on a book or something or it's definitely it's like based during that time. She was a real teacher. Dangerous Minds, So Dangerous Minds Michelle Pier is a teacher, and like I remember watching Freedom Writers and being like, these kids just don't look as poor as the original.

Fine, like I'm supposed to believe that Mere we Go was struggling. Oh, so sad? Are you in a gang? You're gang gang? Whatever? Yeah, you should watch Dangerous Lines. It's that herky Yeah, okay, honestly, no, I love Freedom Writers too, but I remember my mom being like seeing that, like, yeah, Jage's Minds. And then I watched Danger's Minds and I was like, oh, yeah, a little more rough, a little more rough, and there's something about um, what

is that girl's name? Hilary Swayk. Hilary Swayk. Baby. I've actually never seen that movie, but I know it was like iconic. Okay, wait, HI think I got my actions? Was she in Juno no, which one. Jennifer Garner Jennifer Garner. Do they kind of look the same. Yeah, they have like a stone great actress, they're great actresses. Okay, no, okay. The thing about Jennifer Gardner, I bet she is a great actress, but she's just like the female version of like a

face you want to pudge y y y yes, like in Juno. I'm like a little every time. Yeah yeah, I'm like, it's not you, it's not you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but I hate it's just your face. Yeah, no, I get it. Anyways, she was actually just on like the Drew Barrymore Show, and oh my god, I love Drew Barrymore. She's like, in your face an eccentric and I love it. I love it like hugs everyone, I love it. And she yeah exactly, And um, I was gonna call her Hilary Swinkum.

Jennifer Garner is like, um, yeah, you know, I work out in the morning, and Drew Barrymore is like, no, I hate working out, like you're so perfect. She's just that person who's like, yeah, I work out every morning, it's good for you, and make a green smoothie. Yeah, yeah, that's meeting exactly. And then I take care of my kids and when I read to them. Yeah, it's a soft voice, it's all of it. Wow. I definitely told one of

my friends that Jennifer Garner was a million dollar baby. I'm different vision. Wow. I was today years old when I found out Hilary Swink a different human being. Thirteen going on thirty. She's said, yes, what is it, Jenny's thriller? Okay, confession, I've never seen thirteen going on thirty. Who I know? I know, Wow, I double I remember that one boo that was lame sauce. It was all right, it was the school how they did it. But um, yeah, wait, thirteen

going on thirty. That's like best top ten chick flicks. I know. And I love a rom com. Even my Faccino was like, you need to watch it. You love rom coms. I'm sorry. The quote is, Maddie, it's thriller. You don't get it. I know, maybe I'll watch it tonight. I always say I'm gonna watch it. You'll love it. It's so stupid, it's so good. See. I know, I get on you've not seen movies. But another movie that is like a cult classic that I literally just watched this year is um, how to Lose

a Guy in Ten Days? Oh my god, I love it. Oh my god. It's so over the top and unrealistic that I was like, perfect, Yeah, this is the kind of this is kind of a delusion I need in my life. Yes. I love when we're like playing bullshit and she's like I'm gonna win bullshit. Okay, what I will say I remember watching scenes from this movie because when that scene came up, I was like, wait, I have seen this movie. But then I was like

no, I definitely didn't watch it full though, Like I missed. Maybe I was a kid, you know, always on you know, so it's coming on TV, but didn't attention. Yeah. Anyways, um, let's get to it. This is for the culture, for the culture. For the culture. This is where we pick a headline and ask if they shoot or he did it? For the culture, and we must talk about Ocean Gate. The headline is this past Sunday, a Titanic tourist submarine had gone

missing and a rescue operation was underway. And at first all we knew was that this was a submarine that can hold up to five people, and it towards the wreckage of the Titanic, and the other information that we had was at the ticket costs around two hundred and fifty thousand dollars per person. What yes, oh my god, didn't even know it was a group on now it was you two? Yeah, that's wait, that's like a millie.

And then after that more information kept coming out that was more mind blowing and more mind blowing and more mind blowing, and oh my gosh, I feel like it's very cringe. It's very cringe. And then people thought that they were going to survive, because you know, there was then there was reports.

The way the media dragged it out was so terrible. I can't what, okay, before we get into like the funnies and whatever our whatever our POV was about it, because I feel like people have a different stance on it um before all that. Originally I was like, Okay, I hope they imploded, like rich asshole or not. That's such a terrible way to die, like, yeah, you know, suffocating, having hours my worst nightmare. The way the media was doing a countdown for the oxygen like bitch,

I'm so sick. It was so I was like, in mind you, I'm over here laughing at all these means. But then when I saw that, I was like, Okay, no, this is too far though, y'all real countdown thirty more hours until I run out of oxygen? Like what the fuck is this countdown so distasteful? Um? Yeah, I was like, Okay, let's hope that they exactly just imploded. No, I got a question for you, like, are you gonna go? Are you gonna go to the moon? So like, within the next ten twenty years

there are going to be commercial flights to the moon? Are you in? And now? Absolutely not? Absolutely not. There's literally been more people that have been to outer space then that deep emotion whale. That was the thing too. Whales don't even go like sea creatures do not go down that low because it's the pressure is so motherfucking low. Yeah, you know what, something my coworkers says something really funny and I was like, yes, and

he said, that's for God to find out. Okay, only God knows how deep the ocean is and what's on the motherfucking moon he made or he or she made those things. That is for the get rich by people's fixations on wanting to do things that you like humanly cannot do. Like hiking Mount Everest, you know, like the pressure is too high, Like why do you want to do it so bad? Oh? Well, the more care more more things have came out, Like there's like old clips of this company,

ocean Gate, which is like full of shit. Is it really cold? Yes? It gets more and more ridiculous, Chris, Like the more I learned about this, it gets even, it gets worse and worse. I couldn't. I did not read the article that couldn't go deeper. I just saw the headlines and kept it scrolling. It's too much like how it was controlled by like a lawg tech remote which looked like an old s xbox I could get for like thirty dollars on Amazon. Okay, I did hear

about the simptoms. Writer and producer I'll revealed that he went on the trip three trips with ocean Gate, including one of them to see the Titanic wreckage last sum on the submersible, and he said that the passengers were required to sign a waiver that mentioned death three times on the first page. And I was talking to my boss because my boss is like a huge nerd, but he's specifically a nerd about like shit that nobody cares about. But you know,

like those people that just know random facts about any little thing. He's one of those. And he's like not to say I'm like this like crazy engineer person, but he's like, you know, even if I was a billionaire, I would think, Okay, I'm gonna get with any like mentioned these companies that make these like crazy submarines that like probably would be able to do that. That probably like James Cameron worked with like LEAs something from them

and then like make it possible. But he's like, when I saw the little fucking thing they did, I was like, no way someone's going in that. And even like if you see the beginning scene of the Titanic when they go down, like only two people are in there, ones like literally laying down. He's like the fact that they thought they could have like five people in that minivan, it's so impossible. Like my boss writer was like, no, I can't believe that people thought anything else than they imploded right

away. No yeah, no, that's like my worst he was bull did from the like inside just terrible. No no, no, no, no no, no, it's it's it's not yeah, it's not meant for people to do that. It's a great example of income inequality. Everybody, like some people got the money to do it, and I'm glad. I felt like I saw like two different So okay, another wow on a roll with Chris. Don't ever let me tell you you didn't watch any of the movies. You know what I watched for the first time last night? What the

Titanic. I've never seen it in more, I swear to guy, Oh, bitch was inspired. This is stupid. Oh you know what, let me just take a gander. Watch that five hour fucking movie. You love it. It wasn't an amazing it was good. It was good. Okay, so hold on. After I watched The Titanic, I went down a whole as Titanic rabbit hole of like what actually happened in the real last Titanic.

And you know, there was a lot of people making jokes, you know, with the with the new Titanic, this missing submarine just about how like, oh, you know, like the Titanic is over here killing billionaires once again. But with the original Titanic, it's actually crazy how much of a class warfare it was, like the movie touches it a little bit.

But like I was just reading all these articles about like then they really did not give a shit about those poor people, like yeah, they were in the barracks or like underneath right, Like I read a story about you know the you know the band that was playing, and I guess like one of the workers of the Titanic, one of the owners like literally sat like one of the you know, obviously they died, but like set the family a

bill for like their suits and stuff. Isn't that so fucked up? And then then they like put them on blast in the newspaper and then they end up like taking it back and not doing it like there, it's just like insane amount of how fucked up that was at the Titanic. And and then I was wanting which I went deep, and then I'm watching deep. I

was watching an interview from like one of the oldest survivors. Oh, so you remember the movie when they're okay, no, when they're they're starting to get on the boats and there's a dad that says like, no, it's just see you later, like to the kids. So apparently that little girl that's the girl that survived that they're saying goodbye too. So she was seven when it happened, and it's just like it just makes it more. I'm like, oh, that's such a tragedy. What happened? Like how much

way worse it was? And another part that was crazy to me. And even my boss was telling me this because he not that he remembers, but he's like, for a long time before it was discovered, there was a big like question mark on what the Titanic look like, you know, like what was it couldn't happened? This girl is Originally she says, how you know, I told everyone that it definitely cut in half, like I saw a break in half, and no one believed her until like years later when

it was proven that that is what happened. And I mean, I guess I see a little bit both sides, Like you know, she was seven and you're winnessing this traumatic event, so I get people to be like, I don't know, like is that something you really saw or whatever? But the other end, I'm like, when I was watching her interview, I'm like, how fucked up is it to go through that traumatic experience? And then people still yeah, fuck, like why would you lie about that ship?

I saw a boat snap in half? Yeah, Like oh, like why do I need to make this story any more dramatic than I already fucking is? You know? So oh one part that I laughed though in the movie, well, I will say it's a ridiculous ass scene. I wish they did not have that in there. When they finally like her and Jack fall and he's like before I before he tells her to get on the door, that random ask guy that tries to drown her. I like literally was

about to cry just because I already know how the movie's ending. I have tears of eyes. And then he comes and tries to drown her, and I swear to God about like that spit laughing happening. Oh my god, that James Carmon. He should have cut that out of pocket. I don't remember this or he was trying to push her off the thing off. No, no, no, they're literally all just swimming freaking out. Oh yeah yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah yeah. He starts drowning couch

of he's freaking out. Oh yeah, you go, you go Leonardo to cap for you out all right? No, oh god. I hate the fucking whole debate online where they're like, could you flow on top of a piano? Could kid, like they both have fit. Bitch, shut up, it's a movie, like chill out. He had to die. He had to die. Oh my god, love story isn't even real. That's not even happened. Oh my god, just to romanticize it, freezing cold waters, sharks, I just I couldn't in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

So yeah, part of me was like, after I do this big ass deep dive into the original Titanic and how fucked up it was. You know, there's people I guess they like we're thinking about I don't know, raising their Titanic, and a lot of the survivors were like, no, it's my dad's grave side. I don't want to see it exactly. That's

the other thing. It's like, you want to go to somewhere where there's gonna be a lot of bad and dead energy, like I totally believe in, Like just there's probably is weird ass energy at the bottom of the ocean, especially where the Titanic is, like right, and I guess me watching all this Titanic stuff, it is really crazy to me that, you know, people really died. This is a horrible event that happened, and then a hundred years later you have these rich people that want to go down there

for the ooze and oz. But that's just me being my emotions, you know what. Let me level with these people for a second. Even if you know what I get it, you're a billionaire, you got money. Say you are a billionaire that's fascinated with the ocean, fascinated with the Titanic story, and you have the means to go down there. It's I guess it's the wealthy arrogance for me. Like even if I am that rich, I would hope I have a brain to like see how fucked up the manufacturing

was. Like I don't know, maybe they were lied to, but it's just like these people never had a chance, you know, like you still decided to do that after Like there's like signs after signs of how this is not good, how it failed before, Like did it feel before? Well, I've seen like different clubs from the documentary originally and like the whole like truth about Tighten, like how the submersible was made from carbon fiber and it

failed safety certification. You know what. Like once I once I heard like FISHU even swim that low? I'm not I'm not I'm out you know what they say, rest in peace, let them rest, just let them rest down there. There's too much for me. I'm gonna say no, ocean Gate is not doing it for the culture. And um, and all the jokes were funny and of course like even with that count don't even though you definitely knew that they for sure we're super dead. Even if they did find

them with oxygen, there's no way they could have got them up. So they were dead either way, even if for some miracle that those people were a lit I then held their oxygen. Once we did find them, those the rescuers or the searchers, there was no way to bring them up. Girl, Like, they were dead period, did you see um? I think it was like Rick Ross, He's like yeah, he was like, I don't understand why there wasn't like a tether attached to it, so if

they lost signal, it could have just pulled them up. And I'm like, you know what, Rick Ross, you wanted to something. You want to something that is my worst nightmare, drowning. It's my worst nightmare. God Like, And you know what the Shenanigans, did you see the step sign? Yeah, like reaching out two tagging all the members like, Hey, I'm coming to show the Sunday my stepdad's down there. There's people like funnel shopping, the corny you know, Corney put the sign up Travis on

pregnant. Yeah, yeah, you were like, Travis, my stepdad is lost in the submarine. Oh, it is bad. The other one like trying to haul out only fans Okay, yeah, oh my god. What did you say though? What was it? I don't know. He was trying to shoot a at an only fans model and definitely put in like my dad's yeah, like trying to get guilt tripped for it. That's so weird. People are so weird. I know a lot of people are like,

oh, think about the families. The families like doing this ship all one star did read that said, I don't know how true it is, but I've been seeing more and more post about it because there was a nineteen year old that died and apparently like they were very skeptical about doing it, but did it for Father's Day, like with their dad. I know, like, like people dying, it's just sad, right, Yeah, So like

I guess when he did. I feel like for the majority of the week I was laughing at all the memes, but then seeing like the whole I was like, the countdown is kind of y'all out of pocket for yeah, until they have oxygen. A little part of you is like, man,

I hope like I'm laughing, but I hope they find you. Guys, Like, obviously I don't want you to die that horrible death girl, but I also feel like if you get killed, and you get killed it that sumersible to go see the Titanic and killed that submersible to go see the Titanic controlled by remote control from she in. Yeah, Like, I think, God's all it hasn't done, and I think he wanted me to laugh about it. God, oh my god, Oh my god, that's fucking hilarious.

Not doing it for the culture. No, rich billionaires, No, that's too funny. Great movie though, he remember. I remember when when it came out it was on two vhses like it was so big. It was a two vhet vhs set um. I always skipped the first one and went directly to the second one because it was like boom sex scene, boom boat crash. I will say. When I was younger, because I've seen it in scenes, I thought I remember like the hand on the thing hot

love it? Yeah, okay, so I thought it was like I thought maybe I as a kid, I had to look away and so like, I don't know. Watching it this time, I was like, oh, I thought the sex name was a little more than that. It's like, oh, little shut happened. No, it's like rocked the car a little. Yeah. I was like, oh, you see, I love what's her name, Kate? What's her name? Kate? What's her name? Split k Yeah, seeing her little titties. They were nice, she was

pretty. She's a pretty lady. But I guess I just remember it being a lot more graphic as a child, Like watching it, I was like Jack paint me like, what are your French ladies? I get so many I love things I didn't know come from that, like that line. Also, it's been eighty four years. I don't know that was when that came on. Was really like the Leonardo DiCaprio me even pointing out the TV. Oh god, oh my god, what do you guys think? What are

the listen and the things? Yeah, you like would do it funny, It's sad, you know. I was thinking like how many people would have done it if um like they were selling it for twenty five dollars. Yes, right, if it's free, money's not an option. Youre going to the moon. She's still doing it, bitch, We're going to Mars. Nah, I'm cool. Yeah, And I just I just keep going back to like how you know it's not something I want to do, Like I don't want to go to Mars. I don't want to be on the moon.

I'm not that obsessed with the Titanic, but not that I can understand. But sure, if you are this billionaire that is infactuated with the ocean with Titanic and you have the money to do it the right way, fine, But it's just it's crazy to me. It's truly mind blowing how many red flags were ignored in this specific situation with ocean gate. Bro Riding an airplane still like already still scares me, Like that is already like a feat in itself, just getting an airplane. I'm like, bitch, we're about

going a rocket. That'shit's a rocket. It's going like four hundred miles an hour. You're in a vacuum sealed vessel. I'm hoping that shit don't blow up, you know, every time I'm like, oh god, please don't. Hey, that's what happened to Kobe. Okay, now we're not going there. Well, well, how he's taking helicopter rights back and forth. You know, he's rich, he's got the money. Just take a helicopter right back and forth. And one little thing went wrong. I know it's

up, it's sucked up in too soon. But that's not the same thing at all, because how it's like rich people doing rich people things and like taking you know it's travel or whatever. I mean, that's not like the similarity. But he's rached. He's got a helicopter he can like. But I can see it feels like a helicopter that if you looked into it, it's a helicopter that should like there is a lot of helicopters, Like a

lot of celebrities take helicopters. I guess. I mean, this is like a really niche like thing, but I think it's still like kind of similar thing. I mean, you could say the same thing with like flying coach, like we pay that much money to not be with the like that's being rich inarrogant the coach or I mean yeah flying first class, Yeah yeah, yeah, it's very extreme. It's very extreme. But I don't think helicopters are as extreme though. I mean, how many how many trips do they

do where it worked? Like That's what I'm saying. I think celebrities take way more helicopter trips. It's not like, you know, sure it could be seen as an a necessary ego trip you're taking your helicopter to avoid LA traffic, But there's so many rich celebrities that do that. You know, even in Kobe situation, like him taking a helicopter was a regular routine and he's probably done it over a thousand times versus doing something almost unprecedented, like

right right, right, Like that's not the same thing. It's not the same thing, but I think it's similar. No, you lost me completely with that. How is that the same thing? You got money for a helicopter to just like take you from place to place? Okay, but I say things we don't have money for. Yeah, I mean I don't have money for money for a lot, I don't have money Yeah for a private any there? Take it over yeah, Like um, yeah, I just

think it's just one of those things. It's it's it's a rich person thing to do and damn they had the privilege of doing it, but then it like fucked them in the end. Okay, because say the same way, Okay, whatever the helicopter, but like an airplane could also crash. Yeah. True, That's why I'm not all the way seeing your connection. Okay, how it was the same thing, you know what I mean? Yeah, I mean I don't know private helicopter and not many people have private helicopters.

Well, I guess celebrities too. I don't know, I'm not. That's only similarity I'm saying of like, yeah, it costs a lot of money, but you can say that with a lot of things. Yeah, I don't know. Maybe I'm more sensitive because it's Kobe, but I just feel like taking you know, the tragedy what happened with Kobe and Gianna taking a routine helicopter trip versus a two hundred and fifty thousand trip to the bondo of the Atlantic, you know, in this doomed minivan with the PlayStation controller.

It's not the same thing. It's a very this is a very extreme like luxury of money and spending, and but you have enough money to do something, you do it, and then it just kind of sucks you in the end. That fucking sucks. Like I'm sure those people who died probably thought they were going to live a really long time, and I probably they probably were getting the best medicine and the best this and the best that.

But you know, they like were i'm gonna say, taking advantage, not taking an advantage, but like they were able and they had access to something, and then it kind of sucked him in the end. I think. I think I'm just talking about the similarity is the tragedy of it all. It's like the similarity of having access to something that not a lot of people have. But the Titanic thing very extreme. It's a very extreme example, and I think that's why it was so popular in the news. It was

like whold on? I mean, I guess I see the connection, like the psychology of it, Like I don't know what you're seeing, like the irony of dying because you're rich but I'm not. You know. Kobe used his private helicopter, which a lot of celebrities have, to not just avoid traffic, but so that he could like pick up his kids from school and

attend there after school events like as outrageous and maybe economically bad. It sounds it's more common for people with money to do these things to make their lives easier versus Yeah, I get what you're saying. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get it. I get it. I get it. Yeah. Yeah. I think it's just a tragedy. I think it's a tragedy on both ends. Okay, I'm like, you're not getting it. No,

I get I get it. There's no there there was a lack of credibility in ocean Gate the company itself, and there were all the red flags, all the signs that said that they shouldn't have done that, but they just did it anyways, and they were negligent to it, so then they got what they asked for. Yeah, it was just kind of a freak accident with Kobe. I get that. I guess what. I'm just saying. It's like bridge people paying for things doing it and then it fucking them and

that sucks. Yeah, we're just gonna agree to disagree on this one the way. Ocean Gate not doing it for the culture and it's still fun helicopters. Let's talk TV. We already talked about me watching Titanic for the very first time. I do want to talk about how bad the idol is on

HBO with the Weekend. Yeah, it's like, okay, there's before you know, there was a bunch of drama because Sam levin Santa apparently, you know, he had fired the whole crew started from scratch, and it was supposed to be you know, this woman's point of view and like how uh you know, like the troubles that like pop stars have and you know, all this stuff, and they scrapped it off and a lot of people were like, yo, they're literally making this like freaking fantasy porn for the weekend.

Yeah, that was everything that was coming out the drama leading up to it, and I watched it and I'm no prune, Like I loved Euphoria. I still think you Fooria is great. Honestly, after watching this, I had to go rewatch Euphoria to like remember something good that that man made. But this ship is just bad, Like it literally is soft porn.

Okay, okay, like the Weekend is so craze and I hate say it, but he is the one that makes it bad because Okay, the first episode was terrible, but second episode, I feel like the beginning was kind of decent. There's you know the mom on Hacks. Yes, she's like one of the managers and she's kind of savage. And I remember being like, Okay, this is getting kind of decent, Like I could see where a story I could pop up, and then here comes a weekend with his

fucking soft, cringey ass porn. It's bad. Like the way he's talking, he's just like yeah, like stretch that tight pussy for me, Like it's so bad, it's terrible. Oh that's like his dream. Like his albums like Back in the Day are very like, well that's the thing. People A people were like, how is the guy that made the trilogy have this little sexiphill in a show this little sex appeal or big sex appia litzhole, Like it's not something that turns you on, Like it's cringe as fun,

Like it's gross. It's like creepy weird. Like you watch it and you're like, I feel uncomfortable watching this. That's what I'm saying. I'm not no like HBO is known for having a bunch of sex scenes. It's it's not in a way of like, oh so much sex, close my eyes. It's like it's just you feel uncomfortable watching it interesting. Is it kind of like like weird like assaulty This little very last episode did get weird

because she talks about how Um because he's he basically has a cold. He's like a coult leader and he runs his club, but he like ain't shitty's kind of broke, so he's like taking over him and this like pop star, the main character. You know, they start fucking and she's like her mom dies, so she's in the middle of like having a manic breakdown. She's supposed to have her comeback, so she's just struggling with that. But

the Weekend's like brainwashing her. But in the last episode, uh, like they're having this could ass dinner because he's like taking over the house, her rich ass house, and she reveals the story about how, you know, her mom whole the whole season, she's really sad and depressed about because her

mom passed away. But I in this episode, we learned that her mom us to abuse her and like like just make her work crazy to beat this pop star, and like she mentions how her mom used to beat her with a hairbrush as she still has and so and then the weekend like beats her with the hair I knew that. I'm honestly not surprised. Like his albums are very like like Creeping onto a Woman. It's like it is this weird

like appeal like kiss Land. Like when I saw his tour for kiss Land, there was like a lot of like anime or hentai like Japanese like softcore porn like cartoon ladies with nakedness, uh going on on stage. And so yeah, I'm not I'm not surprised. I haven't seen the idol yet.

Maybe maybe not, I guess. Okay, even knowing that about the Weekend and like kind of expecting that, you're hoping like, okay, maybe it's like in a fifty Shades of Gray kind of way, but it's just his acting is so bad and it's just so cringey that it doesn't come off that way. Did you ever see that? Now? Yeah, crea wasn't that great, but um earned it is like one of my favorite weekend songs, Shades of Gray. Oh yeah, that's a record. When he's on his

real R and b Sha, he could be so good. Yeah really, b bag dude. His cover for Dirty Diana iconic, just like Michael. Sometimes he is on his Michael vibes. What's a like I can't feel my face? Okay, I'm thinking about but yeah, anyways, Tidle is bad. But for some reason I keep like hate watching it because I'm like, how much worse can it get? Like it's like funny bad the last episode two, Like it starts off, they're like the best friend who's her assistant.

They're driving to the mall and her in the weekend in the backseat, and he's like eating her out. It's so out of pocket, is it? Like It's like, Okay, that's kind of weird. You gotta watch it. Okay, you gotta hate watch it. Okay, do they I have to ask show his dick? Oh no, my god. But there is another scene where they like at least are like fucking at the Louis stores.

I'm like, oh yeah, high plays, but then she leaves, she stops before he could finish, and then he's in the dressing room like jerking off, making like hellinoise, and it's just awkward because all the workers can hear him, and it's just disgusting. He's just like, I'm rich, I can do whatever I want. But he's not rich. It's the thing, it's so funny, like he's using her. Oh she's rich.

He's like some black ass club owner like probably be like ripping people off and is now this cult leader he has like other people on his team that probably used to be musicians, are like a really talented, but he hasn't brainwashed like very cold Tea. There's something about it's like so fucked up you keep watching, Yeah, but and I feel like it could have been good, Like I really wish I saw what it was before they got rid of the

old director, Like I bet it probably could have been fire. So I didn't know that you have the same director of Euphoria did this Sam Levinson? Is that what is okay? I didn't know that, And people like hate him so oh really why um for the same reason, just like oversexualizing characters and like what he did to Barbie Ferara, I like getting her fired and like kind of ruined the last season before You. I mean there's parts of

it that I thought were really great. I still liked you for You, but just the storyline getting kind of fucked up, yeah for some people, for some characters, and Barbara that the whole thing. I did remember her coming out, Yeah, and then like just the drama leading up to the idol like exactly, like scraping the whole thing last minute after they like already finished starting over firing the other director. Like it was a lot. So, I mean, everything that's come out about him, it seems like he

probably is really a piece of shit. But here we are. You have some jobs to Sunday. I'm probably still gonna watch it because I honestly just how bad it can get. But I feel like they were getting somewhere, like there's there's little parts before the weekend. Every time the weekend really does ruin it. The weekend is not a good actor. I'm sorry, but he's been responding to everyone on Twitter. He's taking it on chin. People are telling them he's bad. Oh yeah, he knows. He's reading the

comments. But he's been like trailling, And it is funny when he trails on Twitter. It's like, Okay, you don't give a fuck, but yeah, I'm he's still gonna pay it. At the end of the day. I will say, I do like I'm just a freak. Yes, she has like one song in the beginning, and I fuck with it. It is catchy. I'm not gonna lie I do I do like that sock. That's funny. I don't know if the soundtrack, the whole soundtracks fire, but uh, I'm just it is. It's catchy, it's very kind,

it's giving coke like it. I will play it for you. That's all I've been watching, though. What else is new on TV? Trying to think. I'm excited for the Bear? The Bear's coming back? I think, is it tight? No? Wait, I have to look it up right now? Got a new EPIU in what new? There's supposed to be a new season. There's a new season of drag Race. It's drag Race in Mexico. And if anybody watches drag Race, Valentina is the host. Oh my god, wait I just relized the very does come back tonight.

Jean twenty second. Wow, I had to wake up early, but I probably will watch that said a new episode of drag Race. I mean, there's the new season and it's like they've never done drag Race Mexico before, and so one of the old queens, um she's gonna be the host. It's not RuPaul. It's like like a popular queen that everybody likes. Her name's Valentina. Yeah, yeah, this should be good, should be

good. Okay, we got any shows to start? Yes, I said, bitch, if you wanted to go to Taylor's, just tell him brother, you want to go to Taylors. Right you said that? Oh? Hell yeah, right, I says, I say, I says, I said, bitch, bitch. I feel like I never gave an update about the whole Giants saying what happened. I have like a log. It was

like hell episodes ago. I talked about how I applied to be an a game host for the Giants, and I was like, hella, back and forth on it because it's fuck the Giants, yea big ace fan, it's not fuck the Giants. But I did messala. I like, I don't even know if my name dropped her, but I definitely slend the dams of someone who's a big, big, big, big deal at the Giants stadium, a legend. And I was like going back and forth, So I do it, and I didn't. You know, she didn't. She didn't

get back to me. I don't know if I ever followed up that she did get back to me. Um, she went through a tragic situation. She also very close family member, very vocal about it. On socials, so I'm not just out here telling her business. But I thought it was

really cool. She messaged me, she was like, oh my god, I didn't want you to think I'm like standing you up or ignoring you, because on my end, I was like, oh, I didn't expect you to, not in a a snobby way, just of like you're fucking you, you know, like yeah, yeah, I'm expecting yeah, exactly, like what are you even doing like responding to my dams. But she totally was like, let me know anything I could do. She like gave me emails of like who'd afford my um, you know, resume too, and

tell me tell me to ce see her. But by the time she did that like that, they definitely already feel the position. And I had a feeling because I stopped seeing it on LinkedIn. But what was cool the guy that Dick at the job actually had slid in my dams a couple of weeks before that, asking me for advice about like interviews with being a game host

because he knows that work for the Warriors. Oh and honestly, this guy is like a Day one Giants fan, so he totally like, yeah, it should be him because you know, I feel like I would have fun with the organization, but like they still being here is still would have felt right, you know what I mean, Like they the Giants just lost their ten game winning streak and I was happy. You know, I probably oh no bummerd um um. But overall it definitely meant way more to me.

The fact that someone I look up to in the sports world and as big as that person even not only responded responded to me, but was willing to help me out. That that meant the world. But yeah, definitely just trying to get my friend the door with more sports teams and support women in sports as much as I can. Good. Um Jacob Noah MACALOLOI, he's going to be taking over today in the Bay. He is an upcoming pro boxer. Did see he isn'defeated right now. He's five and oh so like

still early. I think like it as far as I getting promoted or I don't even know what it's called signed to a promotions team is probably after ten fights. But he is really nice. Like actually, um, he used to go to my high school and was like always that guy in wrestling. He got to wrestle. I always say this it's a little weird because they're they're you younger than me, but I always say five or had sons.

I wanted them to be like Jacob and Denado because Jacob had a best friend Denado, and they like grew up together, like they've been best friends their babies. So one love that, like having a day one best friend. Yes, they both are rows fuckers at wrestling. Oh one of them with they're wrestling. One of them got into Noah, got into Columbia, another one got into a freaking Nyus, you know what I mean. Their goals and they're not like little shit kids either, Like they were cool as fack.

So I always admired that about them. But now Noah's fucking killing it and like becoming really serious about boxing. So he has a fight this Saturday at cal Palace. He'll be taking over later. But anyways, I was just talking to my cousin, because you know, our cousin Marcos is a huge boxing fan too, and and I was even talking to know about this. I was like, man, I wish there was just a bigger boxing scene in the Bay Area. Yeah, but I don't know. Maybe in

the future, maybe I'll have a boxing podcast. I don't know. But what is even more crazier is when I was talking to know It, I don't know how we got into this conversation. This was off the air, was a part of the interview, but he had mentioned how the guy he's going to face a Saturday, um isn't undefeated. You know, he has some l's on his record, but he's been watching some of his stuff and you know he is going to take him seriously, like he's hoping for a

pretty good match. And I had just brought up you know it might be of a Gabriel Rosatto, not saying this guy is compared at all to Gabriel Rosatto, but um, he recently retired. But I feel like one of his things was he did take else like he had a lot of losses but

would still get booked for major fights. Um. But I think a big part of that is because of how much of an exciting fighter he is, Like his grit and resilience, like he always wants all the smoke, you know, even when he was supposed to fight uh give birtha Ramirez who mind you was from Mexico. He's a Mexican boxer, and obviously he creates like a whole Puertorico versus Mexico thing, but it's more of a like like appropriate

what is it called like a friendly friendly rival here? Thank you? Yeah, Like it's just people taking you know, pride in their in their countries. Sure, but in his defense, like because he's such a good fighter, there's so many people from Mexico that fuck with him. Like a lot of people will be like, oh, you know, I'm Mexican, but like I'm riding for you, Like like that's how much like exciting fighter he is. So I was just telling no about that. He's like, day,

I don't know if I know who he is. And I was like, okay, whatever, I just want to share that story, bitch. Why did I go home that night? And he followed me on Instagram? Followed me on Instagram? Oh my god, he was listening. Oh my how wow? My manifest festing game is so powerful. I just have to like, you can't let all times of what I say, yes, yes, I scare myself. Why Like they have no connection. I don't know how he found my Instagram at all. We definitely don't have any mutual followers.

I mean I follow me that I would probably follow him that he didn't know anyone that follows me. I mean, this guy was in Creed he retired, that's crazy. Maybe he saw the interview with I mean, yeah, hopefully that's really cool. But yeah, I mean no, no, I don't know. I know, I wish you could see, like who mutu shit right? I mean maybe because the hashtag boxing, he like clicked on it and found it. No Sha, Like obviously Noah, I think

he's going to be like the next manupac. Yeah. I really do believe in him. But like this guy. But yeah, but Noah only has like five things unders belt, like I don't know how many fights, you know, one of the odds of him seeing that maybe, yeah, but I cannot believe you following me. I was like, oh my god, that is so exciting. A good that's crazy. Look at you just making your rounds. Yeah, connecting to the community that I feel like that was like a sign. I was like, I gotta do more in boxing.

Yeah out, yeah, so we'll see yes big like an actual fire. No, okay, just um. You know, my dad the one that raised me rest in peace, but he used to he like basically helped build um A lot of the TVs and did a lot of work for Wiki Sports Bar in San Leandro, ye and then was a bouncer there, like literally growing up, like when I was in high school, Like me and my best frien Nadia, I used to like go in there for free because my dad was watching us or whatever, and we would just like eat the free

wings and watch all the UFC fights. Definitely more made than boxing. I will say I grew up more watching the UFC fights. Um, I feel like it wasn't until I guess my mid twenties, you know that I got more into boxing, right, Well, I definitely grew up more watching UFC. Yeah, my friends recently went. I forget which one it was, but um, they've had a couple of fights in Salt Lake City. Um, I don't know, I don't know, but wow, Yeah, I've never been to a live fight. I would love to go. You gotta

go. They're like lit, the blood is splashed and I was kidding, good seats. You know what's crazy? I hate watching like video like street fights. I hate them. No, Like you know, yeah, it's different when it's professional. It's like really it's a sport, you know what I mean. I get it. It's like it takes a lot of heart and a lot of fucking wisdom, and it's a challenge. Like right,

there's like different skill sets to it, like not getting hit. There's defense, you know, like but yeah, watching full like street fights, like I cringe, Like I can't watch this. I hate them so much. It is like how yeah, let's going. Chris's birthday is next next week, two more weeks, oh yes, and we gotta pop and as the weekend ahead, I'm excited, I know, right, First, okay,

before we gins to birthday, tell us what you're doing tomorrow? Actually, oh my god, tomorrow, you guys, I don't know what she'll be like the if you are like a Day one listener, like if you pick off for the record ride when you see an upload, yes you know, then you will be able to make it. On Friday night, Friday, June twenty third, from seven to ten, we are having a Pride to Dance party at Nito's backyard, my place of work. I am am seeing.

I'm gonna be the drag MC. It's gonna be my first time in drags, my drag debut. I've got my outfit together, I've got my luck County, I'm gonna let county. I'm gonna get my makeup and hair down. I'm very excited. I have a mix a song I'm gonna do. I'm gonna do a little lips sing. We're having a I am sum I thought you're like mostly hosting, but you're gonna be like doing a lipsit.

I'm doing a little performance. I'm doing a little performance. Yes, yes, So like says, I'm hosting a runway competition at eight pm. And it's kind of like, what does that mean. It's like it's our low budget drag show. You guys just get it. Just kidding, But it's like the idea is to get like the audience involved, and like thinking about is big. Though I know I'm nervous. I'm nervous, but it's gonna be fun that goes into that. Yeah, especially something like that,

I feel like you gotta be like a little bit of a comedian. You gotta be. Yeah, So we'll see how it all turns out, honey. Yeah, it's gonna my first time doing it. But have you been like getting tips from all the people are doing your research? Not really, Honestly, I have had like a nice support system. A lot of people have like reached out to like help me with my outfit, with my hair, with my makeup. Like I've had a good team behind you. Yes,

Um, like everybody at works. Like we're making a drink and the proceeds of that I'm gonna go to like an organization it's called the More Project. You know. They just they donate to the queer community in the Bay Area. Um, we're making um a drink. It has rue barb in it. I forget what the fuck that means, but that's some sort of route or something, and we're calling it. We're calling it the Rue Paul. It's gonna be it's gonna be really gay and really fun and bring all

your people and drink and have a good time. And it's gonna be insane dance party at Nita's back Heart Free dance party. We have a DJ DJA free. Yeah, it's free, just walk in. It's like we have this whole event space. And we were like, Okay, we want to do Sink to Male part two because Singo to Male reigned, so we want to like do something big for pride. We've never done this before. I'm like the one spearheading it me and like this other person. But like,

honestly, it's been a group effort. Um. Yeah, so it should be very fun. I'm very excited a little nervous, but you know what, it's just gonna be fun everyone. So everyone come, bring your friends. Both of my parents are coming. Yeah, I have to work. That's good that you know. It's okay. It's like this, this is your first Timney, Yes, yes, yes, Honestly, when I put the boots, the dress or like the corset and the hair on, I did feel it. I felt today. It was the first day. I

felt it, like literally, something in me change. I feel like a different person, Like, bitch, is this my calling drag? I mean you've been feeling that way, honestly, like you've been wanting to get into this. So I think it's it's just about like going and doing it. It's nerve racking, it's nerve racking. Um. Yeah, buddy, I'm pushing aside the internalized homophobia. Yeah, yeah, that's important, and just rolling with it. I'm just having fun. We're just having fun, y'all.

Just fucking do it. It's fun. It's beautiful. Yes, And then yeah, we're gonna do a big for Chris's birthday. That's gonna be it the week after. It's gonna be a good episode. My friend said she's gonna rent a twelve person raf. I didn't know they made that. But we're gonna be floating on the river. It's acomento, chilling, gonna get some dinner and the next day we're gonna go to Drake's the Barn. Yeah, it's yeah. What's the plan? I said, it cannot be

more detailed. What do you mean? What's the planet? Point Flyer? That's my favorite. It's my favorite thing to do. That's a cute planet. A whole birthday gathering for me. You're big on birthdays. I'm big on birthdays. There was a couple of years in a row I would like do a bar crawl. Remember we went, Remember Crystal went. This is like a couple of years ago. Uh, this is like twenty eighteen,

twenty nineteen, twenty eighteen. I don't know. I was like, I like drew a map of Oakland. I'm like, we're starting here, We're gonna scoot her to this bar, We're gonna go to the next bar, and like by the fourth bar, I was fucked up. Oh wait is where we play? Jena at one of the places. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was like it was like drunk Jenga. Yeah yeah, yeah. I think it was like me, you and Crystal, like we're waiting for everyone. Yeah. I do remember that. I do remember that.

Okay, okay, that was the first bar. Okay, yeah, I remember you remember the first one? After the second one a little bit. Yeah, I got a little fuzzy after the third. Yeah, yeah, the rest after the This is today in the Bay. What's your host and Jelina Today in the Bay. I'm super excited we have a pro boxer, Union City native Jacob Noah, I'm not go LOLOI I said, doing it last name correctly. Yeah, you're getting ready to face Telemaco this Saturday,

June twenty fourth at the Cow Palace in the city. Is super excited. But I want to talk about you a little bit and your background with wrestling and bad sports. So you made your professional debut in twenty twenty one, that's right, well so not too long ago. Already a defeated got a five and old record four knockouts. Yeah, it's pretty impressive. Um, when you talk about the you know, fanship in boxing, I feel like

I mean I'm Mexican and Puerto Rican like Latino households. Definitely don't play about boxing like I feel like boxing fans you've been watching since you're a kid. You know, what are some of your first experiences with boxing? I mean I kind of grew up in a fighting family, and you know, I had my grandpa and his brothers and even grandpa's on on different sides of the family that all boxed, like in the Philippines. It was kind of just

like part part of the family. And then growing up, you know, my dad and a lot of people in my family did martial arts, so it was already just something that was rooted in me, like ever since I was born. I don't really know life without it. Really. I didn't know your dad and your grandpa were both boxers. Yeah, well my dad was in a boxer but um in the Philippines. Yeah, my grandpas brothers siebox and mainly my grandpa's brothers that were had a lot of amateur experience in

the Philippines. That's crazy. And I've known you for a while and like, as far as I've known, you always been like that guy in wrestling. How long have you been wrestling for pretty much since I was like five, I started wrestling, and then I wrestled all the way through um through college. I know you well, okay, let's talk about in high school because that's when I need to be like that guy. Yeah, how would

you say that's when you've taken wrestling more seriously or um? Yeah, I mean by by high schools when wrestling starts to get really serious and I feel like sports in general. And then, um, at first I didn't really want to wrestle in college that I wasna say, like it was it something that you actually like doing or was it like your family being like, no,

you're gonna do this? Yeah, just automatically was in it right, Um, But it was like by like my junior year, I started to have more fun with it and started to realize that, like started to get get those college legs, get those letters in the mail, and I was like, man, I I should really consider this because, as you know, it could really take me somewhere. Can use it as a tool. Right, And then you went on to wrestle at Columbia, which is insane.

How was that, like I guess transition for you in college like bing d one bound? How was that whole experience for you and wrestling and like how you looked at it. Oh man, it was. It was so fun to be able to have that opportunity living in New York City and being pretty much like a full time student athlete. Um it was hard. It was. It was really hard too at the same time. I mean, dealing with the you know, IVY League workload while simultaneously wrestling for a D

one team. Um, it was a lot of work. But you know the times that we did, you know, I get to chill. You know, we're in the city. So it was dope, right, see, because I feel like we were just talking about this off the air, but I feel like I didn't really know much about wrestling until high school. And like, you know, when you think about fighters like cutting and gaining weight as a fan, you're like, oh, they're just they're just doing

whatever. But like the hard task that that goes into. Tell me a bit more about that. I mean, usually a lot of kids will start, like wrestlers will start cutting weight in high school, and you know, kids could be cutting you know, ten to fifteen pounds. Even back in the day, they would cut even more. I mean, I know kids would be cutting closer to like twenty pounds. That's insane, just dehydrating yourself to the max. And yeah, it's tough. It's like having a sad

discipline. Yeah, just to be able to like look at a bottle of water and be like, nope, can't. Oh it's crazy to me. So you like coming from such a heavy wrestling background, because I feel like back in the day, boxers were definitely known to be like verse and grappling. But nowadays in the boxing world, as a wrestler, do you feel like you have to approve yourself a little bit more um or do you think you have an advantage. I think I have an advantage in a lot of

different ways. I especially as not just a wrestler but a martial artist growing up. I just kind of bring a different style and a different perspective and just all around like the physical work that comes into um wrestling. Not to say that wrestling is harder than boxing, but just like growing up as a kid, there's just because wrestling is in school, it's just I think there's just more into it and um and it's more of just like a NonStop grind

versus with boxing. Like when our box I feel like I could dance around and yeah and be relaxed at times, versus in a wrestling match, it's like NonStop. Do you is there one that you like more? I mean, because I feel like, obviously expend your whole life dedicated to wrestling. Um, I think boxing is probably funner for sure, um just because wrestling is just like when I think of wrestling, it's just like so hard.

Yeah, but you're like multiple time I was not having fun. Yeah, but all around, I mean, I love both and I love you know, all types of martial arts I think of even though like wrestling and boxing or sports, you know, I think of them as martial arts. Do you see yourself like in the future having you know, being in MMA and boxing. It's definitely possible. It was it like in the near future. Probably not. I mean, I I'm just gonna take this as far as

I could take it, you know. I'm I also have like a contract with my management team that management manages me for boxing. So um, I'm gonna be in that contract for like another like four years pretty much. Um. So I'm just as of right now, I'm just a boxing and I'll be boxing and so home world champion and so I could, yes, And you're a Filipino. I know you're also raised in Unity, which has a

huge Filipino community. I feel like, look athletes like Nonedo, Donaer who's also from the Bay Area, and of course Manny Pacio, what does it mean to you to represent Filipino culture in the boxing community. I mean it's huge. I mean, after everything that Manny Pacio has done, um for the Philippines and just for you know, being the fighting pride of the Philippines and kind of you know, putting Filipinos on the map when it comes to

boxing. I feel like automatically, if you're a Filipino boxer, you're automatically gonna get those comparisons. And um, I mean, I'm grateful that he's that he's kind of blaze the trail at this point, but I definitely will be able to blaze my own path, especially not just as a Filipino but

as a Filippino American. So you kind of want to, um, I'm yeah, obviously big choose to film or not, Yeah, throwing shit at all, But do you kind of like not like the comparisons either, because you're like, no, I'm Jacob Noah like, no, I don't mind them. I mean it's it's never bad to be compared to a great, right, right, you know that's what he is. He's definitely I would say he's in a lot of people's top fives. He's definitely in my top

five. Um, but it is different being you know, Filippino versus Filipino American and I and he's really like a pure boxer and I'm kind of coming out of this like former wrestler, former former martial artists, um, and I kind of just bringing different styles to the table. Yeah, when you go back and talk about, you know, all he's done for the Philippines. I know you and your family have a big community university as well. Do you guys have a boxing are You're right? Yeah, we have a

Yeah, we have a martial arts school. Yeah, it's called the dragons Den. When when did that start? Um? My dad started out the garage in nineteen ninety seven, so that's when I was like two, and then I think by like two thousand and two two thousand and three were able to move into like a full building and now we have like a we have a huge facility. It is like over a five thousand square fee, full boxing, ring, MMak tressing, mats, everything that's crazy. Do a

lot of kids like go in and out of there? Two Yeah, it's main. I mean the majority of our members are kids. So. Um. Yeah, we teach kaji kembo, which is a traditional martial art with a you know, full black gee and gilt and belt system. But we have we have all types of classes, boxing, women's kate, boxing, jiu jitsu, fitness. That's so dope. I and you were actually doing

training before also right there, you were like teaching yeah. Yeah, yeah, ever since I was even as a kid, I was teaching classes. Yeah. A lot of people rooting for you. I was just saying, you know, being from the Bay, I was looking at some of your sponsors and it's so cool seeing like, I don't know these brands that we kind of grew up with, like Salas brands. Tell me more about like being able to work with these brands and which ones were you kind of most

excited for. Yeah, I mean since day one. Yeah, Savs has been working with me. Um. The people that are in Staves are are pretty much my family. I've been I've known them since I was a little kid and I was able to get Hieroglyphics UM as one of my sponsors since my first fight, and I was able to kind of get that connection through

my uncle and that one was when I first got that sponsor. I was definitely super hypes about that one because it's like everybody knows Hiro and to be able to rock that Hiro logo all my shorts, UM, it was just definitely special. UM. And you know too, just to be able to represent all these brands UM. I have a ton of sponsors, so I don't really want to name drop every single one, but it is just like a blessing and I'm super grateful that they've been supporting me and they continue to

support me and I'll do my best to represent them. Well. Yeah, and you know, we've talked about exactly you've been doing this since you're a kid, but I guess coming out of college was that when you kind of became more serious about boxing, Like what was it for you? Where're like, no, I'm doing this. Yeah. It was like around twenty sixteen when I was watching the Olympics, I was like, you know, it

would be dope to make an Olympic run. And with wrestling, it was kind of just like it was just kind of out of the picture for me because it's just really the best best wrestlers in the world. They're the ones wrestling in the Olympics versus boxing is the best amateurs in the world. So you usually will see guys go through the Olympics and then they turned pro after

that. So I felt like I had a serious chance to make the US Olympic team for boxing, and I ended up making it pretty far, barely missed the Olympic trials in a fight that I felt like I want, but you know, the amateur boxing, you never know. So judges gave the decision to the guy in a close fight and that pretty much ended my Olympic dream right there. But in the process, I was able to get picked up by a former Olympic coach who was he was the head coach of team.

He was saying, he's my pro coaching now, Busher Abdullah. Wow, and how's been working with him? Oh? Man, it's it's the best. I mean, to really be able to work with somebody that's been in the game for so long. And you know he he coached Andre Arden his gold medal match. That's crazy, and he's coached a lot, Like I mean a lot of the best Americans that are pros now, um, they've they've been coached by him, so to be able to get that knowledge

and that work. And I mean he's really like family to me now too, like whether I was boxing or not. So yeah, I'm blessed to have him. It was like someone with that experience, right, Sure, So he said that that Olympic dream kind of like went away. I know you're like focused on your professional career, but is that something you would go

back to, Like how does work? Um? I think, well, now it's different because they do allow prosum to compete in Olympics Now, Timo say, it's kind of like they already kind of have their guys locked in like before, like even like before the Olympic trials, they kind of have like guys that they've been investing in for a while. So I don't think that would really be in the cards. If like the Philippines really wanted me and they were looking at pros and looking to bring pros in, I would

definitely consider it. But it's not really something I'm thinking about too much. I'm more focused just on my career. I feel like it's gonna come, We're gonna manifest. How have you been training for this? I've come and fight. Um, I've been. I've been in a long camp for this one because I originally thought I was going to fight at the end of May um on a on a card in San Diego that was thrown by um both Marven Nation, which is a promotion that I've been fighting for for like my

like my last four fights or something. Also in partnership with No Boxing, No Life, which is a Canelos promotion, But that one ended up. They ended up just saying like, you know what, we have opportunity for you in the Bay. So and I was like, all right, cool, I'll fight them both, Like yeah, let me fight then, and they're like, we don't want to run any risk who I want you to be able to fight, you know, at home. So like I'm cool with that. So that I had already started training for the May fight.

So I'm liking the I had like a twelve week camp pretty much. So I've been working real hard for this one. Um. Because you were actually in San Diego living there, right, Yeah? Yeah, I was originally living in San Diego. UM was that fresh out of Okay? Yeah, So pretty much from twenty eighteen to twenty twenty one, I was in San Diego. Then um, right before my baby was born, we moved back to the UN and uh and I've been living in the un ever since.

But I go down to San Diego all the time for usually summers, and anytime I would fight coming up, I'll do fight camp in San Diego. So I literally just drove back in from San Diego today. Oh wow, is a boxing community like really out there? Uh? In San Diego, Yeah, it's it's definitely, I would say bigger than in the Bay um. But in LA it's huge too. Um. So we'll move up. We'll like drive up to La a lot and spar at at gyms in LA. It's super popping in La. UM. But there's definitely a big boxing

community in San Diego as well. And this is I mean, this one's like your homecoming then for sure? Is this your first fight out here? It's my first pro fight. Yeah, wow, it's definitely my home coming. Would you say, um, like, how much has the boxing community or you know, a world advanced in the Bay Area, Like, is there's something that's on up and coming? Or I think it's definitely slower. I don't think there's like a huge like pro boxing community in the Bay.

I think I think overall boxing is growing UM in the Bay, but I wouldn't really say that the Bay is really on the map and in regards to boxing says something you want to change? Yeah, definitely, I mean, I mean andre Ward was definitely a huge It was definitely a huge figure for the Bay. But I feel like just one guy is not enough. So I can, I can, I can definitely put a lot of work in UM, but it really takes a whole community, and it takes, you

know, several guys. It's gonna happen. We're gonna be watching our documentary next Well, I'm really excited for you. What message do you have for everyone outside of the Bay area who hasn't heard of your name yet? Everybody outside of the Bay or even in the Bay that hasn't heard of me? Um, You know, I'm a real exciting fighter. All out all five of my fights, they've been super exciting fights. UM. Pretty much all finishes except one. But in that my one fight that I didn't get to

finish. UM, I did knock them down right at then, but pretty much right out of time, I was only four rounds. Um. But you know, I bring a different style and I'm just super super exciting kind of you know, give that Bruce Lee look sometimes and I'm able to, you know, just be entertaining. You know, at the end of the day, boxing is in entertainment. So um, that's definitely something you see every time I step in the ring. Yeah, you're clearly not a fan

of the judges doing their job. How do we see the fight ending this Saturday? I'm looking to see a finish either in the fifth or sixth round. Um. I say the fifth or sixth round, because I still haven't seen the fifth round. Um. My last couple of fights were schedules for six rounds, but I stopped the guys in the second and fourth round of my last two fights. So I'm hoping to get that experience or the fifth and sixth round because I think my next fight is gonna be scheduled for eight.

So I would love to see those later rounds and get the finish in the end and give my fans a show. And it's in the ko yep. Let's go all right, Well, okay, what's going down this Saturday at the cow Palace? To get your tickets there. Yeah, I think you should be able to as long as they don't sell out. Um, but my people pretty much are getting their tickets directly from me. And then

you can also get tickets online at Westside dash Promotions dot com. There you go, and where kid I everyone and follow you find you be updated on your next fight. Yeah, mainly I'm just on Instagram.
