Flex and Frooms Flex and Fromes. This is the Flex and Frooms catch up podcast. I don't think any of us could have anticipated the companies that exist now that are running the world, or the services that these companies offer that have become so vital in our lives. We could not imagine living without them. I'm talking ride share apps. We were getting places fine with ease before, we were paying thirty bucks to go ten minutes down the road.
There were options. We were eating fine before we decided that paying fifty dollars for lukewarm, cold, subpar food five times a week was regular and normal and sane behavior. We truly bought stuff fine before we made every transaction digitally and from the other side of the world. We had options. But now these services become so intertwined with the way that we live that in order to uncouple from these services we need to literally change our lifestyle.
That's insane to me that for me to now decide that I'm not going to use any kind of delivery food service, I would need to literally change my life. I can't relate. I know, I hate it. It's unfortunate. So I was thinking and thank goodness for the people who work in my phone that make sure that any passing thought that I have is reflected in my algorithm.
I don't know what I would do without you, because I was thinking, what will be the next bajillion trillion dollar company, the next thing that will come to be that we didn't know we needed and now we can't really live without, and what industries will be pumping in the way that they aren't pumping now. So then this TikTok came up on my feed from this creator called the Ilhan Jama, and she had four distinct categories, and I think she kind of ate with that. Yes, I
love to know that someone's been thinking about this. She's giving away this information for free, which you know, we've got to be mindful about that because there is some tech always watching course. But you know you're in good company, So let's talk about it. So, the first category, or the first problem that needs to be solved that we don't have a clear solution for yet is the dating
loneliness friendship epidemic. Dating apps don't work as intended. People are reporting higher levels of loneliness and ever before and every second person has a friendship issue that cannot be solved with traditional means like talking. So who is going to capitalize off these issues and monetize them feed it back to us in a way that's beneficial. People do argue that the reason why we struggle in relationships is because social media optimized the one part of our lives.
It didn't need to be optimized. We didn't need to know how to do relationships quicker or more efficiently. We actually did need the slower burn of intimacy, and now we bypass that. We have to undo that. So when I start my pen power company, don't come for me. Just know I'm saving lives. The next category is side hustles.
So if we live in a society the average person cannot sustain themselves on their single income and is being motivated by the entrepreneur story to start something on the side to give them more money, what company will exist to help them do that efficiently? You know, how do we help you help you? Because that's what these other
companies are claiming to do, helping you help you? Now, will it be like dating apps where you are giving away your data and your time and your energy and your money in hopes that you'll come out of it with a relationship In hopes that you'll come out of it with a career and it just never comes. Maybe possibly the other category, this was an amazing one, women
only homes. Yeah, let's go now that one. I don't know, because there was a point in time where women's only gyms were beginning to be a bit of a thing. And I don't know why those fell off. I know because I would love to go to one now. Yeah, yeah, they were genius. Where did they go? They must still exist? Maybe? I guess the emphasis for so long on women's appearances has been external things like body modifications and diet, but perhaps maybe there wasn't as much of a pop culture
focus on fitness as there is right now. True to maybe a women's gym would make more sense in twenty twenty three than it did in twenty thirteen. And the last industry, or the last category is two to three
step makeup. I know people spend a lot of time roasting predominantly men for two in one products and finding easy ways to speed up the hygiene beautification process, but realistically, how long can we be marketed nine ten fifteen step skincare routines to then do nine ten fifteen step makeup routines to then do nine, ten, fifteen step hair care routines. It just doesn't feel like it's going to have legs
for very long. It's a lot, isn't it. It's a lot. Anyways, I'm hoping that we see some of these come true. I don't think I can take credit for it, but it'd be interesting to see this time in five years, it's like, oh, whoa, someone did make a friendship app and would you go on?
