hey guys I'm Lindsay and welcome back to Fitness tested today we're going to be talking about the New Balance 880 v15 the New Balance 880 v15 is super comfortable absolutely loving this colorway um I have been running in the 880 for years it's one of my favorite go-to shoes it's just classic tried and true for me I just really loved it so I felt like it was super comfortable underfoot I really liked the fit um if you'll remember the v13 was a little bit narrow and then with the 14 they

rewinded that base again I was super thankful to have that tow room I've got kind of a Hobbit foot so um just really loved that space up here really enjoyed the breathable engineered mesh as well just felt like it was um comfortable gave my foot room to swell but didn't feel like it was too loose where I was slipping around either um I really liked the way that the base felt this time so they made some changes and I felt like um for my foot it was super structured

and it felt a little bit more stable underfoot especially since I was doing a little bit more trail running in this version so um really just enjoyed the increase in support there um felt like the cushion was on point with what we're seeing in the market right now and um overall I would just say it's it's probably my favorite shoe uh currently that I'm running in and it is definitely my favorite version so far far so really really liking it um obviously the colorway is just super cute super on

point um didn't notice any issues with traction you can see some of the dirt and mud from my trail runs but didn't really notice any issues with traction even on a little bit of an icier Trail um and some technical spots so um I feel like it's really usable on road Trail and uh can definitely be a hybrid model for you to to check out so um definitely an A+ from me on this one so the 880 version 14 versus the version 15 I would say it's not remarkably different um the

engineered mesh is fairly similar still breathable still very comfortable no seams or anything like that no uh notable 3D printing so I'm overall really comfortable in comparison uh I've been running in the 880 for years and so I feel like you know new balance is known for just being tried and true not you know making huge changes which I appreciate but um yeah I think overall like I did notice that there was some difference in that stack kite under the foref foot it definitely felt like I had

a little bit more roll in my toe off versus in previous versions it felt a little bit more bendy up on the front portion of that of that stride so um I definitely like that feel I think it's more in line with what we're seeing in the market with a lot of the Super Shoes and things like hokas and the super max cushion shoes so I think it rides a little bit more like a Max cushion than the previous versions have um they did make some really slight changes to the

rubber Bas so what we're seeing here is just uh less of these small thin grids along the bottom um and we're seeing a little bit wider um fit here so I really appreciate that as a trail Runner because I feel like it makes it a little bit more hybrid where I'm not going to get mud just like caked all in here um but it's like whereas in this version before you can see these really thin little lines where I feel like mud and small rocks would easily get stuck in

there and just not having as big of an issue with that in this newer version so definitely appreciate that um I think the colors on this version are a little cuter they've been a little bit um more bold with some of their colors in the past and I like these more muted tones so um really liking the look of it overall especially the nice silver metallic uh pieces that are just really nice make it a little dressier and a little bit more usable for everyday all day use versus previous models that I

think um or maybe a little bit more runon so I do appreciate that as well I can pop it on to run to the grocery store or to go out to the trails or the roads so definitely love this version I think it is an improvement to the prior one personally as a tried andrue 880 fan um I'm really happy with version 15 so with the version 15 we're seeing a couple of uh notable changes nothing too crazy or drastic but um one thing that they did make a change in this year is

going to be the heel to tow drop so it went from 8 mm to 6 mm um personally I didn't really notice that it felt to be different I haven't been feeling any Achilles tightness or anything like that due to that change with me um running in the 880 for so long so I don't know that it's super notable but um definitely something just to keep in mind but one of the things that they adjusted with that Heel To Toe drop is going to be the stack height so to offset the um for

foot a little bit and give it a little bit of a stiffer ride they added 3 mm of Stack height in the heel but then five in the 4 foot so you're just seeing a little bit more support under that four foot a little bit more cushion um and I would say overall like it does ride a little bit more like a stability shoe even though it is neutral so you're getting um you know that that higher stack height um especially in that 4 foot you're getting that wider base that

new balance is traditionally known for um but also just notice the noticeable support under the arch as well so I'm a curex user I love them but I really wanted to feel the shoe just naturally as it is and so I didn't put CX in and I would say that overall like the support and the arch was really nice it was comfortable I'm a medium to high arch so I felt like it was noticeable and so if you have flatter feet it's something to keep in mind just testing that out a

little bit um but of course I'll still pop my curix in cuz I love them but I did feel like overall it felt stable it felt comfortable it felt really supportive and it was something that um I would say is more along the lines of like an as6 GEL Nimbus or um even like a Brooks Glycerin it feels a little bit more like those than it did prior where was more in line with like the socky ride or the Brooks ghost so um definitely liking the feel of this one I highly recommend you try it out they've

got some really sweet colors coming out there's a really cool men's color blue with like a two-tone bottom so give those a look um they're available on February 1st so they're going to be dropping here soon check them out that day come in store you can try them on for yourself or shop online at shop. fitnesssports [Music]
