welcome back to Fitness tested my name is Ryan and today we're talking about the ultra torn [Music] 8 let's talk about the specs of the new Toren 8 and then we we can get into my personal experience with the shoe since I've had it so the new specs of the shoe some of the stuff's really Chang or hasn't really changed from the Toren 7 we're staying really similar in a lot of aspects of the new model which is great cuz the Toren 7 was a great model uh what we're looking at is the

same original toe shape of the of the ultra shoes the ultra torn it has not changed in that one they actually have slightly just slimmed it down a little bit um on the inside which is really good for some of the bunion issues and stuff um they've kept the 30 mm stack height on it so we haven't change that either we're still using the eego max foam on it as well um which is a really nice soft plushy cushion to it so really responsive really nice through the midsole and everything really good

rocker geometry to it as well on change with the ultra T 8 that I really do like is with the upper of the shoe we used to have a ba a basic spacer mesher spacer mesh in the in the Toren 7 now we're looking at more of aard mesh upper in the Toren 8 a little more breathable a little more flexible kind of nicer for hugging the foot but not restricting the foot um we do have a nicer heel cup at the back too they have a more structured heel cup with the shoe now um a lot of

issues with the torrent 7 was we had a we had a lot of heel slip going on it was a comic complaint that the the the softness of the back was kind of creating too much of a heel slip now we're looking at more of a structured heel cup less heel slip um I'm not experiencing any heel slip with it myself um so it's really nice in that aspect again still a zero drop shoe so Ultra does have their 4 mm forward line uh but we in this we are in the zero drop shoe category as well um my

personal experience with the shoe since I've had it um I've done a couple different things with it I've went on a nice easy daily trainer run um short three mile run with it and then I've done a lot of daily activities in it my opinion is that the torrent 7 was probably one of my favorite models of the ultra torrent that they've created and now the torrent 8 is even better in my in my thoughts um the reason being they still use the same ego Max foam on it in some in some way shape or form

it's actually even softer in my opinion it's a lot nice squishier of a go one thing I do notice with it a lot and this is normal with zero drop shoes is you sit back in your heels quite a bit I noticed it in the torren 7 but it seems like I even notied it more in the Toren 8 can be a little bit of adjustment for people as they kind of navigate if they've never been in zero drop before or if they have been it could just feel like a little more apparent like it has

for me uh but it's still really nice soft squishy feel again a little bit better than the torn 7 even on top of that with the running I think the nice part about it is the rocker geometry to it is just kind of a little bit more evident or uh relevant to it the the running style um I feel a little bit more of a propulsion off my steps that that's part of that ego Max foam too just kind of having that nice pop off the ground it's a real plushy nice pop responsive um but it's not too stiff or

anything like that to where you're feeling a lot of contact to the ground so really nice to kind of just get easy miles in the one thing I wouldn't do is really get much speed with it um it's one of those shoes where it's really nice for those easy things you can even speed up toward the end of a nice distance run or something if you wanted to close in some good miles at the end of a longer run you could easily do that but as far as speed work race work I wouldn't probably go this route this is

more the daily trainer the daily lifestyle route um that's mainly what I use it for occasionally the daily trainer route but mostly it's kind of my lifestyle shoe because it's so soft so uh plushy spacious toebox and everything's really nice with it and I really like the new mesh hoer they have to it so sumon up if you're looking for a great shoe for you know everyday miles kind of everyday training easy miles or everyday use lifestyle-wise something really soft something really squishy

that feels real good on the feed if you have bunions and you need a little extra toebox space you know this is this Toren 8 is going to be a great option if you were a fan of the torren 7 the Toren 6 um it's similar to those models as well even the cushioning in my opinion just a little bit better so again great option just for that everyday stuff or those easy miles if you're interested in the torrent 8 stop into one of our Fitness Sports locations or check them out on
