Episode description

A horse that can't control its emotions can't control its behaviour!

A reason why we see dangerous behaviours as a result of unregulated emotions is because our horse has said no and we are taught to "push them through it" or "show them who's boss". Sometimes this works, but sometimes our horse lacks trust in our judgement if we have previously asked them to do something they aren't ready for or they think we aren't ready for what we are asking of them.

This is how we show up for our horse in a way that breaks their trust, faith and confidence in us. When we set them and ourselves unachievable tasks that either we or they or both cannot confidently navigate together. Which is part of the process!!! We are always going to be putting ourselves in a position where either us or the horse or both aren't prepared adequately. That is where growth happens but its how we respond when the wheels come off, how big that jump was from achievable to unachievable task was or if we've put ourselves or our horse in to a situation that was either too scary or too dangerous to navigate safely that our horse stops taking direction from us because they have lost confidence in us.

In this episode, let's chat about what it looks like for the horse to say no because we aren't ready.
