In an unequal world, where suffering can be dramatically reduced by coordinating / helping across boundaries, how can we enable sufficient empathy to spur action, at scale?
The crisis we face now - persistent, omnipresent, and yet invisible - triggers not our “A-Game”, but anxiety. “Lowering the temperature” for ourselves and loved ones, and acting out of thought and not emotion, therefore becomes our responsibility, not an ‘automatic’ defense mechanism.
Most situations in life don’t need us to be smart, they need us to be calm and aware. And taking 5 minutes off can be the fastest way to the right answer.
