Episode description

“The world says there are good people and bad people. But we have to surrender the limitations of duality and begin to entertain that there is just one power, it's neutral and it goes where we direct it to flow.” - Mark Anthony Lord

We grow up with the world screaming that there are two powers. Dualistic thinking of right and wrong, good and bad leads us to humanity’s suffering loop. Mark Anthony Lord, author and minister, believes that as we fiercely accept ourselves, extend grace to those we meet, and practice forgiveness, we have the capacity to shift this trance.

On this week’s edition of Find Your Fierce & Loving, I invite you to share in an important conversation with my good friend, my mentor, my teacher, my practice partner in all things awakening. We discuss Mark Anthony’s journey through his own broken ideas of God, himself, and the world and how it has led him to find increased peace and become the great spiritual leader he is today. We talk about how the suffering of 2020 is an invitation to give up playing small. Tune in!

Mark Anthony Lord is a minister, author, online course creator, and is passionate about helping people heal from religious trauma - creating a new, more loving and empowering relationship with God. Mark Anthony has come a long way from the broken ideas of God, himself, and the world. It wasn't an easy journey, as it isn't for any of us, but it has been deeply rewarding and fulfilling. The good that he has experienced far exceeds the pain he has had to move through. Mark did his time in 12 step rooms, including 30 days in a private treatment center in Canada, and he was truly changed by that awakening. He was led to the spiritual side of himself and his life. It gave him an insatiable drive to consume countless spiritual books, attend every workshop possible, and eventually stand on the stage at Agape International Spiritual Center in Los Angeles when he graduated with his Masters in Divinity and became a minister. It was a long way from where he started.

Mark has done more than 10,000 hours on the spiritual field, teaching, speaking, preaching and practicing spiritual truths that are the cornerstones for living an authentic, faithful life. Mark knows how to help people find the pitfalls of perfectionism, transform them and break through the fears along the path to self mastery. This certainly does not mean that Mark does not fall down, act a fool or forget, but he has faced enough of the ego's bullshit to be able to smell it a mile away and has made a hundred percent decision that he is not buying that for himself or for any of us.
